For the Rank Your OC ask meme: 😈 or 🔥 for your Dragon Age OCs? (I am inviting you to do as many OCs as you wish!)👋🥰
[ask game]
Thank you for the ask!! And for enabling me bc i am gonna do both for all my main six kiddos because i have no self control <3
😈 How chaotic are their morals?
9/10 June - June is not a moral person, she does not really have any specific moral standards that aren't flexible in some way or another
6/10 Kala - Technically she does have a a good sense of morals, but she's not above disregarding them if need be. They're a good thing to have but sometimes upholding them is simply not sustainable
5/10 Neira - Ok i wasn't exactly sure where to but her because it's like. She has very very strong principles that she makes a point of following as best she can, even if breaking them would be the more moral thing to do. And it's a whole Thing with her and talking about it now would take ages lol but i think putting her in the middle here fits
4/10 Liam - He does not have any big fancy moral code that he follows but he has principles and believes in common sense and basic human decency, which he does stand up for even if he kind of does not want to at times
2/10 Lilian - Has a very strong sense of morality that does not waver easily and that she holds on to very firmly, however she can get uh. too emotionally invested in things so that her judgement in this regard is very subjective
2/10 Ari - Has a strong moral code that he tries his best to follow, more or less successfully. If this code does or doesn't get warped is a different question though
🔥 And obviously how hot are they, in your opinion and/or the opinions of other characters?
10/10 Lilian - Tall, almost lanky but the muscle makes up for it, sharp features, and she's got presence, which i think adds up to make her appear pretty conventionally hot. Also she knows she's hot which just amplifies the effect lol.
9/10 Liam - Overall I think he's very average but in an attractive way? Like, athletic but soft around the edges, doesn't have a strong presence like Lilian but a kinda casual charisma that makes him feel easily approachable (well ok that depends but still), and kind eyes. Ngl he is in part only this high bc the crew canonically has the hots for Hawke and i kind of love that lmao
8/10 Ari - Ari's large and well built in a dad bod way, has a strong face, he gets some minus points because he's unintentionally (ok sometimes intentionally) intimidating, but he still manages to have that charismatic gentleman charm from how he talks and carries himself. He's very deliberate abt his image tho
6/10 Kala - She's got the muscle and the fat and the hair and she's made several party members go 😳 that one time she lifted a bear carcass without batting an eye. However she exudes an incredibly intimidating and unapproachable aura that kind of negates everything else she has going for her oops. Note though that this is intentional on her part.
5/10 June - Attractive but has been blursed with a baby face that makes a lot of people's first impression be "cute" rater than "sexy" despite her body type, so she has to put in some effort to make people notice her as hot. And even disregarding that her uhh tendency for bratty behaviour especially at the start of the game does not exactl help her case, i feel like her intense energy is kind of a hit or miss.
3/10 Neira - She's scrawny and bony but she does have a sincere face and big dark doe eyes and idk she's not unattractive but just. Not the kind people usually perceive as hot? Maybe it's just cos her relationship with sexuality is very similar to my own tho that it feels weird to think about people finding her hot hdlsajlslads.

i just realized that ochako's question, "who will save heroes when they need saving?" isn't just about her becoming a hero who saves heroes, but it's about heroes being considered as human too — just like how toga asked if villains were not considered people. maybe i'm just too slow, but i didn't see it as a parallel before. do you have any thoughts about how ochako and toga's foiling(?) might progress? i really like your posts on deku and shigaraki so i thought it wouldnt hurt to ask!!
AH thank you I could talk about Midoriya and Shigaraki forever. But I love Toga and Ochacko too. I love all three of the Kid:Villain duos.
I was wondering how the "Who will save heroes when they need saving?" question would come into play as well. I think it'll lead to heroes being humanized.
But the thing about humanizing heroes is that in order to do that, the responsibility and privilege of being the only group of people allowed to use their quirks needs to dissipate.
The laws not allowing others to use their quirks for anything, especially when it comes to helping people in need, have not only killed society's moral obligation to help each other in times of need due to heroes, but it also killed their empathy for others--due to heroes. It's exactly what led to all of this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So all of the high expectations placed on heroes, and putting them on pedestals and acting like they're above human? Society did that to itself. The laws did that because people literally are TOLD to just stand by and "wait for a hero to show up". Yes the heroes are dehumanized to the opposite end of the spectrum as the villains, but the system they uphold and fight to keep in place is what's doing it to them. They need to be the ones to change it since they have the power to do so. And I'm hoping we'll see some indication of something like that in the end.
As for Toga and Ochacko's foiling. Well idk, because out of the three Kid/Villain duos, Toga's and Ochacko's parallels and foils are much weaker and less set up than Midoriya's and Shigaraki's, and Shouto's and Touya's. It's still extremely obvious that their fate is together, but it's not as blatant as the other two duos.
So far, the moment we've seen them really connect and we were able to see some sort of foiling with them was here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Toga explains that she's held in her biological urges (biological due to the nature of her quirk) and had to pretend they weren't there, and that eventually it just comes out in the ugliest way and she can't help it. Because nobody tried to help her through it, find an outlet, and just accepted her as she was.
But Ochacko misses the point of what Toga is saying and still can’t see—
Tumblr media
And then she realizes after it’s too late to try to meet Toga halfway and come to an understanding
Tumblr media
And because we haven't seen ANY of the villains since the war arc, there really isn't much more to go off of between these two yet. No doubt there will be, but I have no idea when.

you know, @bumkeyz, i think it’s very nasty for you to say i have some kind of privilege in all of this. we don’t get to pick and choose who was affected by addy and her actions. just because you see the shit that we posted on tumblr, does not mean you have the full story. and i’m gonna be honest... fuck you and the anon in my inbox for making me feel like i MUST talk about my own trauma because if i didn’t, i was staying silent for her.
when i say my brain couldn’t handle this, it’s because of outside factors that i won’t get into and the fact i had the stark realization that i was in fact manipulated by addy. it’s been hard to come to terms with and all i wanted to do with that ask was highlight that i did not stand by her. but fine, you want the long post of it all, so here ya go.
here’s my story. my side of things. read if you want, or don’t.
tw : manipulation , guilt tripping .
i’m not going to pretend like i remember when addy and i met. all i remember is something was happening in the rpc and i was involved in some discourse and she came into my ims offering support. i was very leery of her at this point, as she had just come back from her stay with rpslayed. tumblr won’t let me reopen those ims now she’s deleted that old blog, but i know that i did reply. it went from that discourse, to the one she was having with B, someone that took advantage of her. and again, i have morals to uphold, so of course i went off about it. through all of this, i started to believe she had changed - which was a large lapse in my own judgement at the time, but we became friends. i wish i hadn’t NOW, but that’s not something i can change now.
i have a terrible memory as i’ve stated, so again, i’m not going to be able to give dates on this one either, but you know how there was an asterisked name in certain posts of her’s? yeah that was my name right up until her current boyfriend. me and addy had this... thing going. more of like a back and forth, will they won’t they. i wish it was as poetic as some wattpad fic because that’s where i begin to realize i was manipulated. the biggest thing i can remember is the whole situation concerning my best friend, who is also my ex-boyfriend. something that was truly one sided occurred between them and soon it was such a big thing that me and him were friends. one time, she did not even talk to me for days and would only add like an emphasis or thumbs down to my imessage texts ( idk what they’re called but you get me ) . i was constantly made to feel bad that my ex was my best friend, i remember once she found out we wanted to make a rp together and was all “im going back to bed”. i once made a post that said “you know it’s real if i send you tiktoks” and tagged him in it and that again, led to her ghosting me because she didn’t feel important enough to me or whatever.
Tumblr media
i remember there was this time we didn’t talk for a certain amount of time, so i blocked her thinking we weren’t friends. and then i get this over cashapp.
Tumblr media
i won’t lie. addy has given me money. she gave me money when i really needed it and i think that’s why i didn’t want to speak against her. because i didn’t want her to think i had just been using her for money because i know at one point that is what she thought of me. but anyway, at this point, i’m like oh so we ARE friends ? and i’ve just been thrown back and forth so much with her that it was normal to me at this point. so we reconnected. i think the guilt over accepting money from someone kept me by her side and kept me standing up for her.
people who know me know i’m not an active replier sometimes. i sometimes disappear for days at a time and come back. that’s just who i am. addy didn’t like this. i remember once she was mad at me because i posted a screenshot of something my friend said and again, i was ghosted. this is how even part of that went.
Tumblr media
the entire thing is that i respect people’s boundaries. but this stemmed from a place of pettiness. this was the aftermath of that btw once i was softblocked.
Tumblr media
things like this also occurred.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it felt like i was being PUNISHED for not replying. when i don’t reply, it’s not because i want to make someone not feel as if they’re not important to me, which is something she tried to say me posting a screenshot of someone else was me saying.
on the subject of the sexual jokes / allegations from other people : i had NO idea then that they were being made to everyone, especially minors. i thought it was something that was exclusive to people she liked. it became clear to me that she did make those jokes to everyone, but never, EVER to minors. please do not say i stand with someone whose said that shit to kids, because i would never. i’ve been at the receiving end of those and some were consensual, but not all, but i do digress.
ya know, i was always was to be blame for a failed almost relationship because don’t get me wrong, i did like addy. but i’ll also be the first to admit i am a VERY closed off person, but i still flirt with people a lot. but it was always pointed out to me that it was very clearly my fault, no matter if i apologized. it was always my fault. i always hurt her feelings ( to the point she would delete my number and contact entirely ) . it was just always, ALWAYS salt’s fault, she never let me forget that. i remember indirects were made about me such as this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
btw this right here, was made BEFORE the “who gonna tell me” post, which she ended up deleting and then posting those.
Tumblr media
i remember even when i would TRY with her by saying hmu if you want to watch a movie, she would reply with “go ask [ex bf]” or when i reconnected with an flame she would say “whatever go flirt with [name]”. go do this, go do that.
but the kicker? she would always come back and act like nothing happened. and i would always be in such a state of whiplash with this. she would flirt with me again and i would flirt back because that’s what i was used to.
when she got in her newest relationship, it all kind of came to a close, except if i made a joke about it all, she would say i hurt her feelings and lash out about it all. i was STILL made to feel bad about it even when she was in a relationship.
i think at the end of the day, i should and WILL take full accountability for even becoming friends with her in the first place due to her past. i could’ve easily stopped all of this happening to me if i had not made that ONE decision. at the end of the day, i was still manipulated, i was still made to feel like trash over a failed relationship, and i let it happen because i had feelings for her AND she had helped me out when i most needed it. but i’ll be dammed if i let someone say i had a PRIVILEGE in this situation when i felt like i had to stay friends with her because of the money or because she would say some shit about me if i tried to not be friends with her. and while there is so much more i could pull up and show y’all, i do not feel like going through all of that. just know this pattern is what i experienced for upwards of a year or so.
you can believe what you want or feel how you want about me. it doesn’t change a damn thing that happened to me and i’m so, SO tired of being silent.
- salt.

ROTTMNT OCs
Okay first off, a bit of a preface: They’re a bit based off these guys from the 2003 tmnt
Tumblr media
fyi tho, rottmnt is my first tmnt media, I actually never got into tmnt before then because it never really interested me (I only watched media with lots of girls when I was younger,) And while I do plan to watch the 2003 n 2012 ones eventually, I don’t know much about the other turtle universes ^^; sorry!
Next thing, I imagine them being sometime after the whole Shredder arc, and being like the turtles next main foe. They’re created by Baron Draxum of course, and they’re around the same age as the rest of the turtles. Major difference is that they’re essentially “””raised””” by Draxum-- not actually, as he doesn’t regard them as his children, and doesn’t give them names, they’re called by their numbers; he’s a bad parent. He treats them like soldiers, and since they only know that sort of lifestyle, they just go with it.
They all each mirror their respective turtle, in both personality and body type/character design shape.
Second preface: they are all girls.
‘Why?’ you may ask. Simple, I love girls, and you can’t go wrong with more girls in your show! Also, goes with them being raised soldiers and having higher and stricter standards held by Baron Draxum as a sort of metaphor for how girls are raised to higher standards at a young age and don’t get to act like teens as much. (Though one of the major plot points with them is them learning to act like teenagers and have fun, through both the turtle crew and April)
Now to finally introduce them.
#1 Mirrors: Leo
I’m imaging her more-so mirroring (from my little knowledge of) past iterations of Leo. Where she’s the oldest of her sisters, has a lot of responsibilities to uphold, and is the leader of her sisters. She’s the only one of her sisters who actually looks like a turtles (I’m still deciding if the others look somewhat similar to a turtle-- like with having shells-- or are completely different animals). I’m still deciding though if I want her to be a red-eared slider like Leon, or a different turtle breed from all the main boys entirely.
She’s considered Draxum’s favorite due to her being the envisioned soldier he wanted. She follows orders clearly and concisely, is one of the strongest of her sisters. Although Draxum expects her to be cutthroat, when she actually doesn’t like the idea of being murderous. She attacks hard and strong, but she doesn’t wanna kill anyone! She’s incredibly protective of her younger sisters, and would do anything to make sure they’re safe (even if they may not do the same for her)!
Also since she’s Draxum’s favorite, he let’s her use his like seed things he uses to to make those purple vines. She uses those similar to him, but mostly to make twin swords (another relation to Leo!), and she can combine them hilt-to-hilt to make one bigger sword that she can spin around n stuff. She can also use them to make other weapons or used for other purposes if she wants to, but she prefers the swords.
Doesn’t immediately bond with Leo at first, because she’s emo and angsty. But when she grows a bit, she joins in on memeing with him. She also likes puns, and makes them a lot too! (Even in the beginning)
#2 Mirrors: Donnie
Like science nerd baby Donatello, she’s the brains of her group. Major difference is while Donnie has his *Leo voice* Emotionless Passion™, #2 is passionately emotionless! She’s like feral and just always hyped about things, but has zero morals in an evil way. I know a lot of people like to poke at the idea of Donnie going to ~the dark side~ but I never think he would, he’s still a good boy at heart. #2 however has been raised to be evil, so...
She’s part chameleon, so she has cloaking abilities, and makes tech to work with it. She probably has similar tech to Donnie, but instead her main weapon would be like a naginata (that can change and stuff like the tech-bo).
She’s Draxum’s next favorite, because she makes him new weapons.
She likes to hang out with Donnie a lot, and actually does even when their both enemies, and the exchange ideas and designs for new tech. For the ~~~science~~~ Thing is she’ll sometimes suggest something that’s even a bit too much for him.
#3 Mirrors: Mikey
She’s similar to Mikey where she’s really cute and (appears to be) the smallest of the four. However, since she’s actually a middle child, and not the youngest, so she’s a bit more feral compared to Mikey, as well as more deadly! She’s quite free-spirited, and is able to be since Draxum cares more about the older two.
She’s part poisonous frog! Thinking something like either the harlequin poison frog or the golden poison dart frog black legged dart frog! She crouches a lot, so she looks like shes the shortest, but when she actually stands up tall, she’s the tallest and is really lanky. She’s still got a mostly circle character shape to her though.
Her main weapon is her skin being deadly to touch, so she fights mostly with her fists. She may get an actual weapon, but I’m still thinking it through (I’m thinking something with a long chain to mirror Mikey's weapon, pfft). She can jump really high and far like a frog, as well as, crawl on walls and maybe ceilings idk how frogs work very well. She’s quite deadly and fast when she wants to be.
Both her and Mikey like art! They have funsies, and Donnie n #2 both eventually make some sort of tech where her skin isn't as super poisonous anymore, and her n Mikey can play more.
#4 Mirrors: Raph
She’s baby! She’s super big and hulking like Raph, but she’s the youngest of them, so instead of being the type to lunge in headfirst and think later like Raph, she’s a bit more level-headed because she has lower expectations with Draxum focusing on mostly #1 and #2. She’s similar to Raph in being a big softie, and incredibly lovable of course!
I’m not still finalized on her species yet, but She’s part komodo dragon! Quite big and deadly if she wants to be (but she never really does, she mostly would only be so when following orders). She has a large tail that she can use to sweep at enemies.
And similar again to Raph, her main weapon are her brawns. Thinking something similar to brass knuckles or blades coming from her hands (I don’t know a lot about ninja/shinobi weapons, but I do know they have stuff like that).
Her big sisters are very much protective of her. Mostly emotionally, not physically, because they know she can defend herself.
Her and Raph both like plushies, talking about their siblings, and training with each other to hone their own abilities/strengths!
Major character development with them, is spending time with April and learning teenager things (probably eventually getting phones through her help), she also gives them names (I personally headcanon April gave the turtle boys their names, considering Splinter tends to call them by their colors), and while #1 is the first to initially protest it--  with the others being on board with it-- she eventually gives into it, and it helps all four of them become more of their own selves. I haven’t decided what names yet, because I don’t know a lot of Renaissance artists, sorry ^^; this is also why I refer to them by their numbers in the entire post too...
Another scenario is they kidnap Leon and Donnie, #1 and #2 go disguised as them (because #1 looks most similar to Leon, and #2 has a similar body type to Donnie, and just has to add a few things and use her cloaking to look like him), and they use this to infiltrate the turtle lair. There, #2 tries to survey everything, and studies a lot of Donnie's things. #1 has a heart to heart with Mikey over her self-esteem/high expectations issues. (She also becomes protective, like over her sisters, over Mikey because of this).
Another scenario that can really be a part of anything, is a situation where they have the turtles down, and Draxum wants #1 to finish them off. While the others are whatever about it--possibly #2 n #3 excited about it (mostly because they don’t have as much of a good sense of morality yet, except for maybe #4)-- #1 is very hesitant about it, and eventually tries to sneakily let them go. Leo's the first of the turtles to catch on that she let them go and that the Draxum soldiers are likely not pure evil or unredeemable; which eventually leads to wanting to help them escape Draxum.
They also eventually do become friends/siblings with the turtles, and either Draxum becomes a good dad or they ditch him. Though this is more-so an end-of-arc situation where then they’d might eventually leave NY and go somewhere else to fight evil yokai, and like sometimes visit the turtles and April for funsies.

-- Prompt 01: Questionnaire
(content warning for: uh like.... existential shit? depressive thoughts? idk)
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
When he was first picked up by the Mando’ade, Kal refused to give them his name so they were forced to come up with one for him. He was also a p feisty baby so it amused someone to call him Kal aka the Mando’a word for knife. The joke being like..... he wanted so desperately to be a saber or genuine threat but he was just a lil poke instead. ANYWAY, the name stuck. And of course, Deshra is his clan name.
For a while, his family and close friends would call him Kal’edee when he was being especially feisty (or, in their terms, adorable)-- it’s a nickname that basically means knife mouth or sharp teeth. He calmed down a lot over the years, but the nickname stuck and the one sister that still talks to him still uses it....
also he’s too much of a dumbass to use any aliases even when he has ppl hunting him so like that’s the that on that
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
Kal barely remembers Wayland, SO i’m going to be talking about Vorpa’ya since that is also his homeworld.
I mean, he hated it at first because it wasn’t home, but over time he came to love it SO much.... He even loved the hard work that came with farming, although he did very little of that since his specific family were more the guards than the farmers. Being an agricultural world it was Covered in good plants and beauty, though, and he misses it every day. Spaceships and city worlds have NOTHING on Vorpa’ya. Sadly, he can never go back. At least he has his dreams.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
Brief background: Kal has three Mandalorian parents and three Mandalorian siblings, was adopted after a Mando raiding crew destroyed his home and took him with them, and of all of them only his youngest sister is still on speaking terms with him.
Anyway, it grew from contentious to adoring p damn quick, honestly... Kal's the worst at holding grudges and he was only four when they picked him up, so like. He was really close with his family-- they’re still everything to him. Even after the exile and years of no contact, if any of them called him up out of the blue Kal would drop everything for them. There are like...... Maybe two people in the galaxy he’d value more.
As for beliefs-- they raised Kal Mandalorian, following the Resol’nare (with some minor clan-specific tweaks, as Clan Deshra was moving towards a slightly more peaceful way of life), and he fully believed. He still does, actually. He doesn’t uphold the tenets anymore, though, having very slowly let go of them after he left. What this means is he fully believes that since he no longer upholds his culture in the way he was taught, he’s dar’manda, or soulless, and when he dies he will have no place with his warrior ancestors. Instead, he will be either destroyed or forced to wander alone for eternity. Basically, he’s going to hell and he’s (kind of) accepted that.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
Kal is as force-blind as they come, to be honest. Like, there is NOTHING in there, the force isn’t even sure he exists let alone the other way round. Regardless, he’s spent enough time around Jedi and other force users to know that something is definitely up. He trusts them when they talk about the force, so he believes in it. He just doesn’t believe it has anything to do with him. (If he were force sensitive he would lean naturally towards the light, though. In some alternate universe out there i can feel him.... trying desperately to use the dark side and failing miserably.)
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
me: Loyal, obnoxious, clumsy
kal: charming, handsome, useless
jav’nen: dodgy, persistent, sly
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
Oh, function 100%. Maybe even 1000%, there is no fashion anywhere in Kal’s closet. If it can’t protect him or make his job easier in some way, he’s not wasting money on it. He doesn’t even have any piercings anymore, and personalized painted armor is a thing of the past. Now, this doesn’t mean he doesn’t get starry eyed and distracted every time he walks past a storefront, but the important part is that he doesn’t actually buy the things he wants.
He has very much the same philosophy with his living space as he does with his clothes. Everything has its function and its place, and unless he’s very distracted or having a depressive episode, everything is immaculate at all times. He’s the kind of nerd that makes his bed as soon as he gets up, and cleans his armor and weapons meticulously every night. No trinkets, no personalization outside of the few belongings that are completely necessary. Any gifts he’s received over the years are in a small safe either in his closet or under his bed depending on the room.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
Most prevalent is probably his willingness to abdicate all thought and responsibility the second someone he trusts tells him to do something. His moral compass is a fuckin roulette wheel because it depends entirely on who’s in the room and who he’s trying to impress at any given time.
He doesn’t really see that, though, so as far as things he would recognize and admit to: every time he takes his armor off unnecessarily or skips one night of maintenance or lets himself indulge in a good meal or a small trinket or a moment of physical contact, he swears he can feel his soul drifting further out of reach. Most of that isn’t even in direct violation of the Resol’nare, but at this point he’s buried his guilt so far for so long that it’s bled into every aspect of life. Any moment of joy or relief feels undeserved, but that’s never stopped him before honestly!! As long as he can continue the tight rope walk of stringent self discipline to keep the sense of doom at bay, and taking as much joy as he can to keep himself alive, he will!!
Also, he’ll do almost anything for some properly spicy food.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
Spicy !!!! Call him stereotypical Mando’ade but he loves spicy food to death and back. Mostly because it makes him think of home, but also just cause it’s Good. His favorite meal would be his parent’s tiingilar (a spicy casserole)-- as far as he’s convinced, no one else can make it like they did. Every other tiingilar is a disappointment in comparison. He also has a secret soft spot for uj cake, but will only rarely admit to it.
As far as cooking himself, Kal knows how to make things edible. Barely. He knows enough to survive on his own, and in the wilds he’d be an invaluable resource to anyone less familiar with that kind of cooking, but if there’s literally any alternative you should go with that. Kal’s cooking is for nourishment, not enjoyment. And he’ll eat basically anything, but usually sticks to pre-prepared field rations when left to his own devices.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
Kal falls in love at the drop of a hat, but Rarely. Basically, love hits him with the intensity and frequency of a lightning strike. That he falls hard and fast doesn’t mean that he admits it to himself or finds it very easy to actually engage in those relationships though-- it’s probably fair to say that Kal has spent the majority of his life pining in one way or another.
He’s been with a few people, though-- only one previous Serious Relationship, but there was a period of time right after his exile that he tried to be promiscuous and have a few flings. It didn’t end up working very well for him, but it was worth a shot at least.
For him, sex has always been a far secondary priority to romance. He likes it (at least, when he likes the person its with), but it’s never been his primary goal in a relationship by any stretch of the imagination. He’s a full blown storybook romantic, will treasure the memory of a brief moment of hand contact and all that bullshit. Also if he’s in love with more than one person at once (as is the case right now) he would literally rather die alone than be forced to choose. Don’t get involved with him, he’s a mess. Unless you’re into that, in which case by all means let the boy pledge his life to you.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
Pain tolerance is one of his primary skills, actually! Finally, something he’s good at !! He can take a punch with the best of them. He has different levels of tolerance for acute pain versus more extended aching, but it’s safe to say that both are higher than average.
All of his joints are pretty fucked up and usually in one stage of ache or another, which he manages with a combination of the right exercises, a consistent regimen of painkillers/stims, and supportive alterations to his armor. On top of that, it’s a rare day when he isn’t carrying around some injury from the most recent adventure. Basically, he hasn’t really had a pain free day since he was a kid, and even then it was rare, so he’s Very used to operating and fighting through it.
Regardless, that kind of torture wouldn’t be the way to get him to cooperate. Threaten anyone he cares about and he’ll cave in a second, but hurt or threaten him? That’s not gonna get you anywhere but frustration. Which is to say, the more you hurt him the more annoying he gets. You’d better hope you have a gag handy.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
Kal has a long standing love affair with his blasters, but he loves his vibroknives even more. Maybe it’s because of his name, or because his aim isn’t the best, but the Second the enemy gets close enough for a good stabbing, the guns are away and the knives come out.
As for fighting style, he generally relies on being quick and fighting dirty. Honor is for suckers, if you left your dick exposed it’s your fault you got kicked in it, catch him if you can motherfucker. It’s not necessarily the traditional Mandalorian training, but his parents adapted the lessons to suit him better as time went on. He never really took naturally to guns or explosives, so they focused more on grappling and melee combat.
That said, he’s not the strongest person but he has a lot of training in how to use momentum and leverage to his advantage, so it’s far from unheard of for him to take down much larger opponents, who might have been much more skilled than him in any number of areas. Also, he hardcore prefers setting up ambushes to being taken by surprise, and puts a lot of work into maintaining that. It’s a rare fight that he didn’t see coming, so he usually has an advantage. Especially now that he’s working with a Jedi !!
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
He tries to minimize that kind of stuff, but Kal still can’t resist throwing up a hushed “Oya, oya!” in preparation for any battle. It’s muscle memory.
He’s also the kind of nerd that says things like “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!” whenever someone leaves his general vicinity. Even just to go to the bathroom. Remember how I said he was obnoxious earlier? He thinks he’s so fucking funny.
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
WELL... I MEAN.... Take your pick: the Sith kind of indirectly screwed over his whole life, and have caused the death of a number of loved ones vs he was hunted by a Jedi for literal years. The second one turned out okay, though, so he’s definitely aligned with the Jedi at the moment. Besides, he loves a good hypocrisy.
Honestly, though, if circumstances were different he would align with whichever side had more of his friends in it. His allegiances operate at a much more personal/individual level, he kind of doesn’t care what evils a general organization has committed. Things that big picture are hard for him to conceptualize.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
Chances are good the result would be immediate capitulation. Kal’s not gonna fight a friend !!! Unless someone he cares about more tells him to! It would go like this: Kal sees friend, Kal drops gun, loved one tells him to pick gun back up, Kal picks gun back up and continues shooting. OR: Kal sees friend, Kal drops gun, no one tells him to pick gun back up, Kal switches sides to hang out with friend. At his most basic instincts, Kal is at all times essentially Patrick Star.
Friend doesn’t even have to be a good friend, honestly, Kal would fight to the death for anyone from a friendly acquaintance to a bitter rival. That’s just how he operates.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
When they started working together, Jav’nen didn’t exactly share that he knew any Mando’a. I’m sure I don’t need to fill in much more but. You can imagine Kal’s longing for death when it was revealed that Jav’nen had heard and fully understood every idiotic nickname Kal had been calling him for months.
Thinking about it still makes him want to die, honestly.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
Goals? Kal hasn’t heard that name in years........
No, but really he’s just waiting for death at this point. I MEAN he has like, smaller, everyday goals. He gets really into it every time he has a job to complete. But if he’s not distracted enough he starts realizing that the rest of his life is just a yawning chasm with nothing waiting at the end, so he’s very attached to those small everyday goals!
Secret ongoing goal that he won’t admit to himself or anyone else: Jav’nen hug.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
Not that he would ever, ever admit to it, but Kal’s life would have been very different if he hadn’t been trying so hard to impress his family at all times. Even when they weren’t around.  He has no musical skills in this one, but in some alternate universe out there Kal's a great musician and avoids fighting as much as he can.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
Oh, I mean, it’s second nature at this point. Even with his clan’s moves towards a more peaceful way of life, combat is so ingrained in Mandalorian culture that it’s become ingrained in Kal too. He’ll hurt and kill people to protect himself, to protect others, to earn money, to keep busy. When all is said and done, as far as he’s concerned, this is just the way the universe works. Everyone dies eventually, in some way, it’s not his fault that he ended up being the executor of their fate.
It only really bothers him if he doesn’t keep properly distracted.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
How do....... Protect Jedi partner? He’ll never admit it but powerful force users scare the shit out of him more than anyone else, so jedi hunters are like..... nightmare time. With the way the political climate has shifted recently, and his current partnership, Kal’s mind is on protecting Jav’nen pretty much 24/7. Don’t tell Jav’nen, though. That would be embarrassing.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
Oh boy, okay.
1. Fucked joints: I’ve referenced this in an earlier question, but Kal has joint problems. Specifically, he has a genetic thing that means the ligaments and cartilage around his joints aren’t as strong as they’re supposed to be, so his joints bend much further than they’re supposed to and dislocate really easily. This is an advantage in some cases, cause it allows him to houdini his way out of a number of situations, but it also comes with a decent amount of pain. He has his coping methods, though. Such is life.
2. Animals: He doesn’t often get the chance to show it off, but Kal’s surprisingly good with most animals. Part of that low key farm boy upbringing. Anyway, he’ll never willingly have a pet cause he’d be too worried about them all the time, but you can bet your ass he’s taking advantage of any opportunity to pet someone else’s!!
3. Physical Affection: SOMEONE HUG THE MAN.......... By that I mean: Kal is at all times craving physical affection. He’s a naturally extremely physically affectionate person, but between a distrust of the general population and a deep seated desire not to inconvenience those he’s close to, he almost never initiates anything. You know when a dog really wants attention but doesn’t wanna get in trouble for barking, so they just kind of sit nearby staring at you and low key vibrating? Kal. At all times.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
i mean does it really need to be any longer than “kills people for money”
fine
the man has been putting people on pedestals for years will rise to any bait  desperate to please at all times over dramatic  did i mention over dramatic  thinks he’s way funnier than he is is fully willing to let things he’s not cool with fly if someone else says to has been involved in kidnapping and shit would rather die than communicate

Qrowin week submission day 1
Family feast
Winter sat alone in the cold empty Atlas base. She was tasked with keeping it secure during the Non-descript winter holiday while the rest of the troops and supplies were moved back to Atlas.
The base was a relatively small one just south of Vale and not that far from the island of the Xiao Long home, nevertheless it used to be a pretty important stronghold before the fall of beacon, now it was moot point. They had already moved most everything out, Her main objective was to prevent looters and scavengers from taking what was left.
It wasn't that she had anywhere to go anyways, there was no way she would ever go home and risk scrutiny from her father as always. Being in the military they usually held a short gathering where there were festive rations and decorations, nothing like the overly extravagant parties her father would throw.
No, she was alone.
The only sound coming from the small empty halls was the ticking of a clock that was left for some reason down the hall. This was the life she had chosen, and this is how it would be.
She had planned to spend this year with Qrow at the Xiao Long homestead but she knew deep down it was too good to be true.
She was cold
--
As soon as Qrow’s foot touched the porch of the Xiao Long home he was instantly tackled by Ruby seeming to materialize out of nowhere.
Qrow -Hey easy there kiddo, you hit harder than most Grimm hehe
Ruby -Uncle Qrowwwwww!... hi
Qrow -Heya kid, where’s your dad? Who else is here?
Ruby -Dad is helping Yang in the shed, Weiss, Blake and Jaune are here, Nora and Ren are upstairs getting ready, thats it so far.
Qrow -haha no Winter? It’s not like her to be late…
Ruby -You didn’t see her letter? She has to watch some old Atlas base, she can’t come.
Qrow looked over the note and frowned a little bit, at least if she had some other troops or something there he would have felt a bit better, but alone?
It's not that she couldn’t take care of herself, Boy does he know she can, but being alone… it was something that both he and Winter finally could be without.
--
They had only finally confessed to each other during a duel which left them both breathless and at a draw. Winter’s cold hard deminer finally broke down as she started to laugh, it wasn't a shrill cockey laugh as he had expected, it was a beautiful warm laugh that seemed to make the world brighten up a little. It put Qrow at ease and the uncontrollable urge to laugh as well washed over him.
Qrow -Hey Ice Queen
Winter still laughing a bit -hmm?
Qrow -how much longer can we keep this up?
Winter -I…
Qrow - we are evenly matched, all we do is fight, your laugh is perfect and I don't think I want to keep fighting a flock of angry mini nevermors every time I see you.
Winter -Oh I definitely had the upper han.. Wait what (a look of curious surprise came over her face and He saw a slight twinkle in her eyes), you think what?
Qrow smirking -I just don’t think that was proper form hehe, you wanna grab a drink or something? (he said reaching out his hand to help her up)
Winter (grabbing his and and pulling him down to her) -I think we’ve earned it haha
--
Qrow handed the letter back to Ruby
Qrow -thanks pipsqueak (he said with a melancholy smile)
Ruby noticed this and grabbed his arm -come on in its cooollldd
As the two walked inside and was created by the warm house with smells of holiday food and cheer filling the air (*1)
Later Tai and Yang came back in dressed in ugly holiday garb with lights flashing through the santa grimm laden sweaters,  with overszed bells, causing Ruby to fall out of her chair laughing, making Weiss crack her first real smile of the evening.
Qrow seemed distant for the entire event which was unspokenly noticed by the Tai, Yang and Ruby., the three huddled together and hatched a scheme.
--
Winter had thought of calling Qrow to see how things were but the tower was already taken down by the Atlas soldiers earlier that day.
She sighed, there was just enough rations and her own personal supply of hot coco (*2) to make a nice warm meal to pass the time, she was a terrible cook as She and Qrow had learned the hard way… The thought of him made her a bit sad actually, she hadn't expected it being a hardened soldier, but there was a freedom when he was around, she could be herself and not be reprimanded for it.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang that echoed through the empty base followed by the shuffling of feet in one of the halls.
Great, she thought, more scavengers… at least this will keep my mind off things
She rose to her feet and placed the coco on the table next to her. Grabbing her weapon she headed for the door.
It made a loud creak as it was opened, surely heard by the invaders.
Before she took her first step a OOF and a thud were heard through the halls, causing winter to pause in her tracks.
--
After Blake had tied up the scavenger Qrow snuck up ahead to see Winter standing frozen looking in the opposite direction
Qrow, you know Ice Queen… I get you have an image to uphold but you could always turn on some heat in here jeez
Winter spin around and immediately attack without a second thought charging forward until she saw who was standing there.  She tried to stop but ended up tackle hugging Qrow and pinning him against the wall, her sword clambering down next to her.
Winter- QROW HOW DID YOU, (she turned beat red as she realized she still had him pinned to the wall
Qrow Smirking *3 -you know, I would have waited till the bedroom to pin me to the wall, but this’ll do hehe
The rest of the party tried to hide their giggles but couldn’t contain themselves (except Weiss who was glaring at Qrow menacingly)
Winter quickly got off Qrow and brushed her self of trying to maintain any scrap of professionalism but dropped it with a sigh, she could be herself now, surrounded by friends
--
After an hour they had set up a nice cozy gathering in the mess hall, tiny lights and food and all,
Qrow looked at Winter laughing with Weiss who was still a bit red in the face from her and Ruby’s Mistletoe mishap (*4)
He had never been so at peace himself, even just in her company he felt warm and welcome, he walked over to where Ruby Yang and Tai were sitting
Qrow -hey… I just wanted to say.. Thanks, you guys really did me a favor tonight
Tai, oh Qrow, she's almost a part of the family already, just don't make ME and uncle too soon alright
This caused Qrow to turn beat red
Winter overhearing this walked over and wrapped her arms around Qrow and placed her head on his shoulder
Winter - no promises mister Xiao Long, wrapping tighter around Qrow making him turn even more red
--
Over by the Atas fire place (*5) in the corner
Jaune turned to Nora and Ren,
Jaune -huh, I always figured Qrow would be making Her blush
Nora - Oh please you saw her stand on his sword in that one fight, pg euphemisms are CCrRAAZZYY
Jaune -wha..?
Ren -don’t even try
--
In the closet the scavenger squirmed against his ropes,
Scavenger - mmmmph mph mmph hmhpmh mhh pmhmh (*6)
--
In the end all gathered around the table and had a great evening, when it was over the family loaded up everything back into Tai’s car (before it was destroyed in that one chibi episode) and headed off
Qrow stayed behind to help clean up a bit more and of course to stay with Winter a bit longer
Winter stopped what she was doing and looked up at Qrow with tears in her left eye
Winter -Qrow…. Thank you, you don’t know how much I needed this
Qrow -It was Tai yang and Ruby’s idea… but I’m just glad to see you Snow angel (he smirked) ((jaune internally screeching in the distance))
Winter -You don’t have to go you know… I mean I am allowed to have guests, if you want to…
Qrow stopped her with a kiss
Qrow looking deep into her eyes -I’m not going anywhere
Winter turned deep red and seemed to melt in his arms
They stayed like that for a bit until Winter snapped up and tightened her grip on him with narrow eyes and a demanding pose
Winter -If you think our last “fight” was tough, you aren't ready for this one she said walking towards what was at the time her room gesturing Qrow with one finger
Qrow now legitimately kinda frightened for his safety -ooooohhh boy hehe
With a swig of his flask and a quick hop to the door, (((I leave this part of the story because tumblr and morals and i'm writing this so I don’t have to study for my AI test)))
--
Back at the Xiao Long home the gang was unpacking the car
Ruby -I think we really did a good thing for Uncle Qrow
Tai - hehe I haven't seen him that happy or embarrassed over a girl since Beacon
Yang -where is he anyways, I thought he was just saying goodbye
Weiss had the realization set in that not only were her sister and Ruby’s Uncle likely tearing down the atlas base, but that she could be Ruby’s Aunt soon
She immediately dragged Ruby back under the mistletoe
Weiss -No way am I waiting till this is even more weird come here
--
Back in the closet of the base the bag falls off the “scavengers head”
Oscar -Guys… I just wanted to join you… hello…
Ozpin -I told you we should have brought Fruit cake
Oscar -...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Life and Death in the World of ‘The Punisher’
Tumblr media
“Tonight, you’re gonna have to break your one rule.”
Close your eyes and imagine a long-running battle between a hero and a villain coming to an end. It doesn’t matter which hero or which villain; they’re all interchangeable here. It doesn’t matter how long the two have been pitted against each other — ten episodes, maybe twenty, maybe 110 minutes of a two-hour movie.
It always comes down to this.
The hero, after coming this close to losing the last battle, finally has the upperhand. He stands over the villain who lies prone in the dirt, rain pelting his face, spitting out what he knows will be his last furious words. He’s killed dozens. Hundreds. Maybe thousands. Terrorized a city — or a country — or a planet. Caused untold pain and suffering. Yet, he’s still full of rage. The world is what’s wrong; not him.
You can see it in the hero’s eyes. He can finally end this. He can put the bad guy in the ground — end his villainy for good. He wants to. He knows he should.
But he hesitates. Somewhere in the back of his mind, a law emerges. A law which says he must be better than his enemy. And that means he, the hero, cannot kill the villain.
A (Problematic) Double Standard?
I’m not sold on the hero-can’t-kill-the-villain rule that seems to be the norm in the comic book-based TV and movie productions beloved by millions. Death, for some villains, seems justified in my opinion. Not long ago, I advocated that Supergirl & Co. would have been well within their rights to take the life of the Kryptonian Worldkiller Reign at the end of Season 3. But the decision not to is typical of superhero fare: heroes choose not to kill their archenemies either due to their own moral code (Batman vs. the Joker in The Dark Knight) or due to urging by a secondary character that the hero must be better than his enemy (Barry Allen vs. Eobard Thawne in The Flash). Admittedly, there is a smaller subset of stories where the villain dies at the hands of a secondary character (Catwoman vs. Bane in The Dark Knight Rises) or brings about his own death due to events already in motion or by forcing the hero’s hand (Superman vs. Zod in Man of Steel). But these climaxes only serve to keep the hands of the hero clean and uphold the virtue of the hero in the eyes of the audience.
Tumblr media
Worldkiller Reign was dead, but Supergirl brings her back to life because… she felt bad or something.
Netflix’s The Punisher, however, introduces us to a “hero” who kills his enemies without compunction — with the cold conviction that Bad. Guys. Must. Die. That conviction carries through Season 1, with Frank Castle killing, or attempting to kill, numerous enemies — until the final episode when he faces his greatest enemy and the author of all his nightmares, his ex-military buddy Billy Russo. Castle opts to let Russo live, severely damaging his face in an attempt to force him to be reminded of his evil deeds for the rest of his days.
And, so, the most bloody, violent, and death-filled adaptation of a comic book property in recent history submits to the rule that the hero can only maintain his heroism by not killing the villain, no matter the villain’s crimes. Somehow, we’ve come to accept this as just and right.
In a cruel and ironic twist, Punisher Season 2 opens with Billy Russo suffering from memory loss — thereby escaping the punishment Frank Castle designed for him.
The oddity of Frank Castle not, well, punishing in his usual manner carries throughout Season 2 with Castle laying down his gun at times when he otherwise would have put a bullet (or several) through his adversary.
A hero’s motivations for killing (or, more likely, not killing) his ultimate enemy — and our (the audience’s) acceptance of these heroes’ stories — raise interesting questions about our collective perspective on life, death, and punishment in the real world.
No-Kill Rule? Y/N/IDK
Deep down, do we agree with a hero’s decision not to kill a murderous villain? Or are we simply committed to preserving our own high moral ground of never sinking to the level of our enemies — no matter how much they deserve it? Certainly, it makes us feel better to say we are superior to our adversaries.
But isn’t justice an eye for an eye? Or is there no more appetite for this brand of punishment in the present day (at least in the West)?
What about the families of those killed or otherwise affected by a villain’s actions? Is escaping a punishment that fits the crime justice for them?
What justifies letting a villain live if he has blood on his hands?
Tumblr media
Billy Russo, the Punisher’s ultimate enemy, shortly before he dies.
The Bible and The Punisher
I could argue from the Old Testament that The Punisher is an accurate depiction of biblical restitution. I could argue that even from the New Testament, for it’s in Romans that we read, “the wages of sin is death.” Sin — all sin, any sin — deserves death in God’s eyes. And maybe that’s why we as humans reject that view. If all have sinned, and the wages of sin is death, then all deserve death. But who among us will admit our own death-deservingness, and who among us will advocate for the death-deservingness of others? Humans, sinful as we are, seem to think we are more reasonable than God: that God is too harsh and that our ways are better, nicer.
In the Old Testament, God authorizes the death of the wicked, but also declares that He takes no pleasure in it and that He would rather the wicked repent than die. Similarly, the Punisher takes no pleasure in his kills. We never see him celebrating the demise of his enemies.
The debate over “gun culture” aside, can we, as a society, embrace a “hero” like the Punisher? After all, didn’t the “mighty men” and women of the Old Testament operate in the same vein? David slaughtered hundreds of Philistines, took the skin off their foreheads, and brought it to Saul. Ehud tricked the servants of anm obese Canaanite king so he would have the opportunity to stab him when his guard was down. Jael was celebrated for driving a tent peg through the skull of an enemy general whom she lulled to sleep in her tent. The newly-anointed King Jehu rode into Samaria and called for those “on the Lord’s side” to throw the wicked Queen Jezebel out of an upper story window, after which he trampled her under his horse’s hooves, and left her body in the street for the dogs to eat. And can we forget Elijah’s slaughter of the 400 prophets of Baal? Or Samson’s slaughter of hundreds of Philistines in brutal fashion on multiple occasions?
Tumblr media
Mighty men riding to punish the enemies of God.
Repulsed?
Fine. Take a breather. Let’s say it was a wilder, rougher, more difficult time then. Things change. The world changes. Even God told David he didn’t want him to build his Temple because he had so much blood on his hands.
Ethic of Life
Is the superhero ethic of life comparable to the New Testament ethic of mercy and grace? Could it be an embodiment even? When the Punisher decides not to kill, is he making a more ethically and morally commendable decision? Is he making a godlier choice?
Maybe our support of the tendency to choose life — even for the worst of villains — shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Maybe this is progress.
Maybe it’s a move toward a godlier, nobler, more life-embracing world.
