Got a bit out of hand with the prompt XD I ended up doing a scene inspired by this fic! Based on that time Marcille Izutsumi and Chilchuck were sharing a bed in chapter 47. It felt very memorable so I tried to recreate it but I kind of went offscript because I was basing it on my recollection of the fic lmao

So in the episode 'Bad Tina' Zeke mentions that his dads girlfriend just had a baby, assuming that the dads gf he talks about in early seasons is Cheryl his step mom and that the father of that baby is Zekes dad we can also assume that Zeke has a very young half sibling. And I did go ahead and assume all those things so this is Zekes baby sister Cherish (Cherry for short).

Interestingly she's the only oc i have that's part of a different piece of media rather than one of my own projects.

She's a spunky little toddler for sure she's always got tons of energy, she's extremely confident and fearless constantly running off when she sees something that excites her or to ask strangers questions. She has a big sweet tooth but also loves spicy foods, off the top of my head I don't think its been discussed in canon where Zeke is from originally but recently I've been thinking of him and his bio mom as being from louisiana (projection on my part my mom is from louisiana and bc I like Zeke as a chef and the food there is soo good) I love the idea that his mom taught him to cook the local dishes and that he makes them for Cherry. She dresses in a chaotic mix of her own love of bright, clashing rainbow colors and dingey hand-me-downs from Zekes childhood and from their other cousins. I definitely think Zeke has adhd and Cherry does as well.

I tend to draw her/think of her around age 2 1/2- 3 (so when zeke is 16ish) but in canon time she'd still be a newborn. I love the idea of Zeke with a young sibling he's portrayed in the show as being super caring, protective of and loyal to the people be cares about, and good with younger kids all of which read as big brother qualities to me and he's also mentioned wanting siblings hes closer too. (He mentioned having a 44 year old brother in Presto Tina-o but also has said his bio mom was pregnant with him at her prom which is probably just a continuity error with his throway lines but taken at face value makes his dad out to be a gross old creep which is my personal headcanon idk if there's anyone out there who are big fans of Zeke's dad and step mom but my headcanons do not paint them in a nice light so beware of that)

Based on pretty much everything Zeke has ever said about his family I get the impression that the adults in his life are pretty neglectful and irresponsible and definitely not super present (he rarely ever speaks about his dad I hc him having a job that keeps him away from the family most of the time probably something like trucking and Zeke has mentioned Cheryl being an alcoholic I also hc her as much younger than the dad maybe she's a bartender? I definitely see her having a nightlife kind of job also for reference picture her as a redhead with blue eyes and a lot of tattoos that's where cherry gets her eyes and freckles)

I believe with Cherry a lot of parenting responsibilities would be placed on Zeke and while i think he has qualities that are really well suited to that the parentification of an older sibling is not ok and would negatively impact him, I like the idea of him applying for a job at Bob's Burgers bc he needs a more stable way to provide financially than doing odd jobs around town and not only getting a job but also getting a support system and adults who care about him and his sister and their wellbeing. I think Bob would take Zeke under his wing and help him make himself and his education a priority (the belchers helping out with Cherry when they can so he can focus more on school and extra curriculars) and help him get into a culinary school after graduation. Linda would fall completely in love with her (we know how much she loves babies) and basically treat Cherry like she's her own grandbaby. They all babysit her when needed but Louise is her favorite babysitter and maybe person also she really looks up to Louise and likes to imitate her fashion style and the way she speaks, Louise would pretend that this annoys her but not so secretly finds it adorable.

Anyways clearly i could go on and on but ill just cut myself off there hope y'all like her!

some Bonus Zelda thoughts! some of this i've maybe said before idk:

ALTTP Zelda

her armor is more ceremonial than practical. While I didn't give this to every Queen Zelda, I liked the idea of the princess's pauldrons progressing to more plate armor in the queen's dress. That's also why I changed her color scheme to blue to differentiate from the princess' pink (exceptions for this being HW Zelda who wears red as queen, ST Zelda who still wears pink as queen and BOTW Zelda who wore blue as princess)

anyway. she's more of a scholar than a warrior but she still has killer aim with a bow

her pet project has been recovering, restoring, and filling in the gaps of the royal library and archive. Mage helps her out with this as he has a knack for stumbling upon forgotten ancient texts in his travels

A lot of ppl assume she's rather prim or austere but she's actually got a lot of whimsy and humor in her. It's why she and Mage get along so well :D

She lets Mage get away with a lot of shenanigans and keeps the royal guard from arresting his ass all the time

Tetra

she's still sailing the seas with her crew!

she and Wake have had a bit of a falling out though, partially over disagreements about searching for New Hyrule, and have gone their separate ways for now. There's not any real animosity between them, just like,,,frustration. They'd still do anything for each other.

She's got 2 pistols and a cutlass and she knows how to use them

She could bench press Wake. easily.

She's brash and commands a lot of respect but she's also a lot of fun to be around. She's brutally honest and says what's on her mind.

I think she still feels a lot of confusion and frustration about the revelations about her lineage and the role King Daphnes seemed to force on her because of it. She doesn't want much to do with what the divine. She values the freedom sailing on the sea gives her.

TP Zelda

she's. so tired. a lot of the responsibility of rebuilding the kingdom has fallen squarely on her shoulders. She's holding shit together by a thread but by god is she holding it together.

Looks pretty cold and unapproachable but she has a kind heart. She cares deeply for the people of her kingdom. She would sacrifice a lot for them and already has.

Never relaxes. Works like 24/7. get this girl a hobby

Midzel canon. Midna also had a thing with Link but it wasn't a polycule more of a this is my girlfriend Midna and this is Midna's boyfriend Link kind of a situation. Anyway she misses Midna.

Wolf and Zelda are like. coworkers. They haven't really gotten any closer in the aftermath of everything. Wolf wants nothing to do with playing the role of the hero in a political sense like Zelda keeps asking him to. I don't think Zelda necessarily blames him for escaping that responsibility, but she Is frustrated she doesn't have that luxury.

MC Zelda

a little cutie!! very bubbly and extroverted and curious about the world. She spends a lot of time outside of the castle running around with Mini. The King is so glad she's safe after everything he still just lets her do whatever she wants lol

She used to be the one dragging Mini into shenanigans all the time but he's gained a lot of confidence over his quest and is less timid now. now they are equally engaging in shenanigans

Hangs out with Malon too!! The three of them are besties

I like to think she can also still see the minish even if she can't shrink down to their size. she thinks they're so cute. Maybe mini gives her a jabbernut so she can speak to them too :-)

She helps Mini build his fucked up little trash robots. She also pretties them up with paint

scolded by castle staff frequently for getting grass stains and dirt on her nice clothes lol. She probably isn't usually running around in her full princess garb though.

Like Mini, has mostly refused to process most of what happened to her and is just trying to enjoy life.

Prince Zel

I went back and forth about whether or not I wanted to go with naming him Sheik or not. I decided against it since this is the version of him that never had to become Sheik. He keeps Zelda as a legacy name and shortens it to Zel most of the time.

Pretty lonely in the castle without many friends his age. He desperately wants to be better friends with Mask but is mostly rebuffed.

Even though he doesn't have to become Sheik in this timeline, I think he has begun training with Impa. Just under a lot less duress

Still occasionally has prophetic visions but has become somewhat hesitant about sharing them. I think he understands a little more of what went on in other timelines than he lets on, but he doesn't know or put together all of it.

Often described as odd or intense or standoffish by ppl who meet him but he can be really chatty and lively under the right circumstances

HW Zelda

Her armor is also mostly ceremonial, even though she's definitely more of a warrior queen. She and War are both dressed to project 'peace time' and 'prosperity'. She has other sets of armor that are more suited for combat.

She and War are a lot alike, calculating and cunning, which is why they understand each other. It's also why they're often at each other's throats. They're not really above backstabbing each other, though has Queen she has a lot more leverage.

She's not exactly warm or particularly kind, but she does care about the safety of the Kingdom.

Also never relaxes and works like 24/7

Constantly dealing with a tense, power-hungry and antagonistic court looking to undermine her authority. She has her own private ambitions she's working towards.

ALBW Zelda

She's a really charming and fun person! very down to earth as Queen and a lot more willing to eschew tradition.

She comes across as carefree but she's been ruling Hyrule by herself since she was young and has been subject to a lot of pressure. She had to grow up pretty fast and is wiser than she seems at first glance. She has her court and the people's respect.

She and Mirror share an interest in fashion and the arts. They're,,, they're both theatre kids.

I don't have a lot of other headcanons abt her yet sorry but. i love her

ST Zelda

Has been crowned Queen at the ripe old age of 16 because the last time they appointed a chancellor he turned out to be a demon who stole her body. so

She does not feel ready to be Queen at all but she's doing her best. She's determined not to let anybody push her around again.

She's taken an interest in learning how to fight after the events of spirit tracks. She never wants to feel as helpless as she did then, trapped as a ghost outside her body. Also she really enjoyed hitting things with a giant sword in her big phantom armor. She's become a much better swordsman than Spirit ever was lol

She specifically requested her own suit of armor to mimic the phantom armor

she's pretty protective of Spirit

BOTW Zelda

I think she was conscious for all 103 of those years fighting ganon, even if it seems somewhat blurry and surreal to her now. She remembers it in fits and bursts. She often feels disconnected from her body.

She has no interest in reviving the monarchy or ruling over Hyrule again. However she does have an interest in rebuilding Hylian towns and helping all of Hyrule recover. She still feels like it's her responsibility, not because of her role as princess, but because of what she perceives as her own failure to avert tragedy.

she doesn't just blame herself though- she blames the gods and her father too.

Right now though she's mostly taking a break to get her bearings and recover from 103 years of endless fighting. She and Slate travelled around Hyrule for a while at first, and now she's settled in Hateno trying to figure out how to be normal again. Some rebuilding efforts have already started spearheaded by Hudson and she helps out with those.

SKSW Zelda

honestly not even she is sure what parts of her are herself and what parts are hylia. it's as disconcerting for her as it is for Loft. She's both frustrated that he looks at her differently now and understands completely why he does. She still wishes he wouldn't.

she remembers more about being the goddess than she necessarily lets on

she's really invested in the settlement on the surface and is basically its unofficial leader. she puts a lot of time and effort into making sure everything is going according to plan and that they have everything they need to keep living on the surface

she's protective of Loft and worries a lot for him. She blames herself for a lot of what he struggles with now and wants to make it better.

she's not the fun police though, she likes a death-defying loftwing stunt as much as the next person

she did become a knight after the events of skyward sword! They don't really wear the uniforms down on the surface much anymore though and it's become less of a formal order while everyone focuses on building and improving the village.

She's been working on her swordsmanship

I think she really loves music and singing

My prediction is that Tomura will scrap the other OFA's holder quirks off izuku, and eventually he will succeed in taking OFA. Thus, completing AFO's MIDTERM Goal of taking OFA, even without AFO merging with tomura completely, just like AFO's planning strategy (many ways to attain one goal)

Then what's the end goal?

Assuming DFO theory is right,

I think AFO's end goal is to Awaken Izuku's own All for One from AFO's gene, considering Izuku's hair has gradually becoming more white in color pages. And since Inko's quirk is attracting small object, then Izuku's All for one should be able to Attracts Quirks from a distance, Izuku would then scrap quirks off Tomura in return without even touching Tomura, something that Tomura can't do, then Izuku would win the fight.

I mean, How else would Izuku stands a chance against a monster of many quirks like Tomura?

Also, i don't think AFO becoming an embryo then disappear automatically debunk DFO,

Because it seems to me that "this" AFO is so keen on transfering his quirk to Tomura even though he's on the verge of becoming....well, nothing. He said here "Just a bit more.... Just a bit more and i can transfer my "quirk" to Tomura".

Idk, man, why does "this" AFO doesn't seem to value his life that much even though he's been so greedy all this time, why would he want to deliberately take the risk of ending his life in exchange for implanting a part of his personality inside someone else?

One might argue that "because he would still live inside his new body, namely Tomura" but even if AFO succeed in the transfer, he would still rewind to nothing, right? Succeeding in the transfer only means that just a part of himself lives inside and controlling Tomura! His true self (if the one we're seeing is even the real AFO) would still be dead!!

I'm beginning to think the AFO we saw in this arc is a clone engineered specifically to keep Tomura under control, while The real AFO is still "working" overboard (i.e. All for One clone Theory is true)

Okay, so I'll make a compilation of all my random thoughts about Amane's MV. (it's very messy and the wording is lazy) If I feel like it, I will explain in much proper words... I will try to write some symbolism, but idk when it would be finished. (mentions of child abuse, murder!)

Title

First, let's start with the title of the MV: Purge March

Purge in dictionary means:

->rid (someone or something) of an unwanted quality, condition, or feeling;

->remove (a group of people considered undesirable) from an organization or place in an abrupt or violent way.

->physically remove or expel (something) completely.

The title summarizes the cult beliefs: erasing the people who don't accept their religion, those considered unwise, unpure by them. It can also symbolise Amane's unwillingness to change her ideals, ignoring the voices and Es:

"I disavow you, eyes corrupted must be crushed

So nary a sound can be uttered a second time, I’ll crush your throat too"

Moreover, a march has the purpose to spread an idea, an belief. Amane is expressing her attachment for her religion and the cult's beliefs, as well spreading it, in order, for other people to accept it and join.

March members

(they are in order of their appearance)

We start the march with the drum captain:

"The Drum Captain or leader of the drumline plays the center snare and will tap or count time in order to set the tempo and lead the band in marching and following the drum major. This is the most recognized member of the drumline with exceptional playing skills as well as strong leadership skills."

Amane drum captain is doing her work very well, because she is the one that starts the song and sets the tempo. (an experinced member)

Continuing, the color guards are next:

"Color Guard or Flag Corps are teams of performers who combine the use of flags, sabers, rifles, and other props or equipment to perform choreographed dances and routines that enhance the visual effect of a Marching Band or Drum Corps."

Interesting, the Amane that receives punishment is a color guard. However, why such a harsh punishment?

"Flags have always been an important part of history. They often represent the pride and unity of a group or nation. They are respected and revered as a symbol of beliefs and values."

By messing up the choreography, her action was demeed as disrespect to the cult beliefs. It is pretty much prestabilated that the cult is teaching by giving punishments, so the Amane with the blue flag was "erased" from the blank space to learn.

Next, the most important member and the heart of the march, the drum major:

"A Drum Major leads the band in Marching, rehearsals, and performances. Their job is to follow directions given by the band director, be an example to the other students or members of the band, and help the program run smoothly. Generally, the Drum Major is a senior member of the band."

No wonder why Amane drum major appears in the thumbnail, but is also the one that gives punishments! The band directors are most likely the adults in the cult and her mother, so based on their teachings, Amane drum major is behaving and acts accordingly to the circumstances. She is an example, a perfect member of the march, who needs to be sure that everything goes smoothly. The color guard Amane made a mistake, so in order to learn and to not mess up she needs to receive punishment to learn.

Victim

I honestly was torn between the little girl and the mother, but ultimely I believe the murder victim is the mother. And I will give some reasons for my reasoning.

->First: this interrogation question

"Tell me what your family consists of."

"It was my father, my mother and I."

The use of the past tense never made much sense to me. It could imply, that she is talking like this because her father is not a lot at home. However, the question is pretty straightforward, so for Amane to use the past sense just to imply that her father is away at the moment, doesn't make much sense? Unless if of course, one of them is already dead. Even with only the first trial interrogation question we can already guess that Amane respects and loves her father more than her mother, so if we have to chose between those two, whose the one dead, I think the choice is obvious...

->Second: the victim's hand

I find it difficult to explain why the little girl would be in Amane's home. Yes, she goes once, but there is an adult with her. I find it hard to believe that the girl will come on her own will. I believe this scene more likely shows that the man and the girl went to Amane's home to tell her mother about Amane's actions of healing the cat.

Moreover, the hand looks bigger than Amane's. The little girl and Amane seem to be the same age, if not, younger, so the size difference is really questionable.

->Third: body parts

The little girl has all the body shown, with the exception of the face features.

The mother has just her hand shown, nothing else. Not only it implies that Amane remembers her mother just for the abuse, showing the hand with which she caused her harm, but it is also the only body part shown of the victim. So why hide the victim and only show the hand? It makes harder to find who is the victim, but it also can lead us to the reasoning that the mother is the one murdered...

-> Fourth: lyrics

"If you're going to break you vow/Here and now/It's my turn to tear you apart/ So there is no second time/ I'll give back the judgement you gave to me/ After you cry, repent and kneel/ It's now your turn to say that hopeless "I'm sorry" /You are sorry? I don't care! / Please go ahead and die already/Remember MY cries, MY repents, MY words of "I'm sorry" / that I said to you"

This part is clearly directed towards the murder victim. Who do we see abusing and hurting Amane in her MV? Her mother. She is the one who is tearing Amane apart by hurting her. Also, these lyrics:

"Remember MY cries, MY repents, MY words of "I'm sorry" / that I said to you"

I don't think Amane will apologize to this extent to a random little girl. Also, it's more likely for her to cry, repent and apologize if she was beaten up at that moment. Because she wanted the pain to stop, the punishment to be over.

The mascots

With the new MV, I don't think the mascots represent real people anymore. They are just beliefs, rules of the cult.

The poster pretty much shows that they are used as advertisers, and so it explains why in the first MV, Amane was watching them at the TV.

The beliefs in question:(colour=mascot)

"Tis ordained, thou shall follow thine destiny"

"Tis ordained, thou shall discard vulgarity"

"Tis ordained, thou shall deliver unto those thou believest in"

"Tis ordained, thou shall stay thine course, then perish"

Why Amane killed her mother?

To answer this, we have to go to the scene with the cat. It's pretty clear that Amane wasn't the one who killed it, in fact, after helping it, she goes next day and notice that it's gone. The man and the girl who are most probably part of the cult, only watched from afar and told the mother what Amane did.

Let's take a look at the rules of the cult, shall we?

From those four, the ones which seem to be againts Amane's actions are the first and the last one.

"Tis ordained, thou shall follow thine destiny"

Meaning that if the cat was injuried, only the destiny will tell if it will live or not. Amane shouldn’t intervene and heal the cat.

"Tis ordained, thou shall stay thine course, then perish"

Quite similar meaning, the cat has to remain on the path that it taken (what caused it to be harm) and then perish. Amane prelonged its life, and such the rule was broken.

The cult members only told Amane's mother what her daughter did, but they never were shown approaching the cat, they went straight to Amane's house. If you think about it, it makes sense for them to not hurt the animal. It will again be against the rules. The second rule implies that they are against vulgarity, it's not socially accepted to kill an animal, it's rude and violent. The first and last rule will also be broken, because by killing the cat, they wouldn't let it to follow its destiny, to see if it will heal or not. How Amane will tell "it's a trial from God". If the cat was killed, it wouldn't have the chance to overcome this trial.

This means that the only person who killed the cat was her mother.

When Amane comes home after healing the cat, she is punished by the mother for her actions.

But if the mother killed the cat and broke some rules along with it, doesn't that mean, that the mother also deserves punishment...?

Amane was taught that with a proper punishment she will learn. Combined with some feelings of resentment towards her mother, for the pain she caused, and the knowledge that her mother also broke the rules, she has all the reasons to give her mother a punishment.

These lyrics really start to hit harder and make even more sense...

The weapon

The transition between Amane with an umbrella and the thumbnail, implies that the main murder weapon is most likely the umbrella.

(the quality is so bad...)

Not only is shown in the last sequence with the victim, but it is also very similar with the weapon in undercover.

After Amane sees the dead cat, she comes home with a weird expression: she is happy and the eyes look hypnotized. It can symbolise how the only thoughts that she has in her mind are the cult rules. Moreover, in the white world created by Amane, the march is no longer organized, the members are chaotic, enthusiastic that they found the bad person, as described in the first lyrics, in this case, the mother. (I will explain in the next section!)

It means, that the murder took place soon after Amane saw the dead cat, most likely the moment she came home. In the last scene, there is water on the floor. In that day, it was raining. If she used the umbrella during a rainy day it could explain the water on the floor when she was beating up her mother.

Ok, ok, but why did I said main weapon? Realistically, a single blow will not be enough to knock a person unconscious with an umbrella (At least with her umbrella, as it looks pretty cheap and mostly made of plastic). Also, the mother could easily see if Amane was approaching her with such a big item. So, what other weapon do we see in her MV? Well, simple, the taser... The object that the parent uses to punish Amane.

"Tasers (and stun guns) are designed to temporarily incapacitate a subject, not knock them unconscious"

Amane doesn't need to knock her victim unconscious. A simple blow with a taser will be enough to incapacitate her mother, shock her, being unable to process what is happening. After that, the more Amane hits her with the umbrella the more damage she is doing to her parent's body, to the point the victim will be unable to protect themselves.

Also, this thunder from at the end of her first MV:

The way she was swinging the wand in her first MV may resemble the hits with the umbrella.

The march

The march at the beginning is very organized, strict and serious. I believe this strictness is the way Amane perceived the mother's behavior. The color guard Amane with the blue flag is punished, because she messed up and broke the blue rule. It's interesting that the one who punishes in the white world is the drum major, the same Amane that kills the mother. I think this symbolise how Amane changed her views of her parent. At first, as the drum major, she is making sure that the march is going accordingly to the rules, as the "band director" (the mother and the cult) wants to.

"A Drum Major leads the band in Marching, rehearsals, and performances. Their job is to follow directions given by the band director, be an example to the other students or members of the band, and help the program run smoothly. Generally, the Drum Major is a senior member of the band."

However, once the mother hypocrisy is is brought to the surface, as she is also breaking rules, the drum major Amane no longer finds her worthy of being a band director. The march is no longer organized and strict, Amane no longer wants to listen to her mother.

Moreover, the reason why the members lost control is because they found their target, the reason why they were marching.

"However, there are blasphemers and silent by-standers/ Who would have it otherwise/ We must not give in to them/ they are the ones that should be judged/ With pure, unsullied body and soul/ Let us preach all that is true and right/"

Of course the lyrics can also imply Amane's hatred to the voices and Es, basically us, voters. However, if the mother broke the rules, the one that should have been an example for Amane, that means betrayal and disloyalty to the cult. As the parent never fully believed in the religion.

The colours of the confetti

At the beginning they are white and bland.

White -> symbolises purity, certainty, illumination and insight; it is associated with knowledge and learning

Considering what white symbolises, I believe the beginning of the MV is when Amane first started to learn the cult's teachings. She is still innocent and pure at this stage, as she never killed anyone and was not indoctrinated with the cult's rules. She is clumsy, inexperienced, but determinated to please her parents. (the fact that the drum major Amane gives punishment to the inexperienced member, might show that Amane is very hard on herself).

At the end, the confetti change colours in the mascots colours: pink, blue, yellow, green. Amane already learned everything that the cult has to offer, and is the moment when she decides to murder her mother.

The clouds

The clouds appear in both MVs, and they are really interesting!

First, I want to point out that in the first MV, Amane is shown together with the mascots on top of the clouds, after the murder, while in the second MV, Amane is under the clouds, before the murder. The clouds may represent, again, Amane's experince as a cult member, but also how she escaped from her mother's punishments. It can also represent that Amane found confort in this religion, because while it harmed her, it was also the reason for why she escaped from the abuse.

Rain

Rain -> symbolises unhappiness, rebirth, determination, cleansing

Rain represents one of the punishments that Amane received from her mother. Considering the symbolism, we can say that it represent Amane's determination to learn more and how the mother thinks that punishing her daughter, she is "erasing her sins".

Rainbow

It appears before every punishment. It can symbolise Amane's "rebirth", as she is considered to be redeemed after every punishment, the fact that Amane should be happy, because she is slowly becoming a better person.

Also, a reference to the flood and the Noah's ark: Noah was instructed to build an ark, and in accordance with God's instructions he took into the ark male and female specimens of all the world's species of animals, from which the stocks might be replenished. Consequently, according to this narrative, the entire surviving human race descended from Noah's three sons.

This is mostly an observation...

Because of the hand placement, I think in both scenes the mother uses her left hand when she is punishing Amane. The second one is more obvious, than the first one. In the first one, because of the big thumb, it's very unlikely to be the right hand, at least I can't imagine how it would work. However, when Amane kills the mother the weapon is in her right hand. Not only when she is punishing the mother, but also when she is punishing "herself".

This detail can show the mother and Amane's opposing ideas and how Amane's mother was a hypocrite when it comes to the cult rules. Also, if we take the literal word "right" hand it could imply that Amane was respecting the cult beliefs, while the mother wasn't.

Symbolism of the right and left hand

The right hand symbolises Amane's kindness and good intentions by heliping the cat. In the context that she killed the mother, it can symbolise how she got rid of an evil person, who didn't actually respected the cult's beliefs, such why she is a hypocrite.

Hello Hist Histo Gold Historix . this is a really hard quesitons

im not very good at tips and tricks but here's what i do:

fiurst i really like pinterest here's my 2000+ pin board for art inspiration

for colors there are some things that seem right according to the Cogmented Guidelines which is just tone, atmosphere, feeling, balling, ETC...

out of the three art classes ive taken in my life all of which were in my most recent school years has been in charcoal, so a lot of what i pick is based on values too: ill turn the canvas black and white using hue blending mode, or take a picture on my phone and turn it black and white for real life things

my main goal for character pieces is to make the focus stand out but also be cohesive with the background, so ill use different values to differentiate those if colors are similar. red is much darker than yellow, even at the highest saturation, u get it. the rest is just using opposites on the color wheel

i also tend to use blending modes.. usually around 2-3 layers?

these are my base colors

kinda hard to distinguish zam in the values, yeah? and planet's shoes are far too bright, i want planets face and arms and closed fists to be their focus

i use a wide variety of the blending modes, but here both of these worked to darken the characters while increasing their saturation

the similar qualities on the characters make them cohesive with each other despite the wildly different designs and colors.. this could also just be a "style" thing that makes it cohesive but that gets more into shapes and how i draw and i dont think i could even explain that

there's also just general inspirations.. i chose a light blue background for this probably because i was subconsciously inspired by an 8 year old pmv of hawkfrost and ivypool by m0zarts using the song that is in the caption (personal by stars) AND because it's a softer color outside of planet's intense pinks and zam's yellows

this is called like triadic color palette i think i cant remember

there are always exceptions to rules and based on the atmosphere i will make the character blend in more e.g.:

for poses jii dont know i have visions in my head AND pinterest boards: 1 2

a lot of my art is expressive through poses instead of expressions because most of my designs dont have the capabilities for human expression; you're left with actions and body language (im also mad alexithymic so that's probably another reason why)

ignoring general atmosphere and art style, both are big movements but hold very different emotions ^_^ sharp and angry and desperate vs gay and carefree

the use of perspective further helps the emotions within poses, lower views make a character more intimidating, etc etc you get it for sure.

if you want to go hard on perspective, colors/lighting, and composition i highly recommend taking a film class or course or watching a video idk or something related to media-making.. drawing and film are very similar especially in regards to things like storyboarding.. the rule of thirds and camera angles that depict feeling are soo helpful to have in the back of your mind shoutout my one film and media class from 7th grade

he's literally loved her for forever, to him she's literally always been his baby and she just doesn't see it that way and she holds off on admitting that things might turn out that way. and conway wishes that finnick was just blip in the lifetime of them, and them breakup probably gives him hope of that. finnick is her baby now, but conway believes in the end it'll really be him.

conway definitely knew deep down, like yes finnick and reader know each other as one, a soul intertwined that burns and withers out for the same things, but conway has known her for years, observed and admired, even if he views her through rose-colored glasses he knows who she is. what she values and just her way. and when any fantasy about them ending up together dies so does conway, he's washed away with it.

that's so real though, I never refer to her as y/n either and I basically call her reader like it's her name because she's just got so much complexity and flaws, I couldn't just let her exist as a fill in ig, I had to make her a full on character lmao

Oh my gosh I did an accidental genius thing AGAIN. I titled this piece, feeling Blue, cuz it’s blue, and cuz it’s sad, and cuz you feel Blue’s emotions

I wanna explore Blue’s character more, or the character that I gave him. His anger issues and reclusiveness really resonated with me obviously and I’ve just been thinking about this issue long term. He’s very lonely, he doesn’t have any friends outside his family, and the one friend that Link had is scared of him because he’s so aggressive and rude. Blue is more recluse and enjoys his time alone, but at times he does feel very lonely. His brothers have other friends they hang out with and his father is always so busy. He’s convinced himself that everyone hates him, especially his father. He and Blue butt heads a lot, Blue is hot headed and Leon is trying to get used to raising 4 sons instead of 1. There would be tension. A lot of stuff happens and Blue runs away. Leon goes after him since he’s an unstable teenager and being a teenager is the worst, and they start to understand each other a bit. Here’s the accidental genius part:

Everyone thinks that Green takes after Leon. He’s a natural leader, chivalrous, and polite. And no doubt all the colors take after Leon in some way. But Blue is really the one who’s more like Leon. Though he’s changed due to age and experience, Leon also is recluse. He’s hotheaded and struggles connecting with people. When he was a kid, around Blue’s age, it was horrible for him. He was just as angry as Blue, just as socially awkward, and just as lonely. As Leon has gotten older, he’s gotten much better of course. More patient and calm, and he’s able to talk to people. He even is the first knight, leading on the others in the kingdom. Yet carrying a casual conversation with the knights is difficult for him. He doesn’t have super close friends. Just like Blue. They connect in that sense that, yeah, it’s hard. It’s hard connecting with people. Especially when you highly value your alone time. The accidental genius was that I made Leon’s clothes blue. I was trying to figure out what to even make them, but making them blue visually showed how similar they truly are.

Idk, typing this out sounds kinda stupid now but that’s just what I’ve been thinking about. Again they’re not exactly the same, but Leon was a lot like Blue when he was younger. Deep down he has the same struggles, it’s just harder to see.

Who do you think is more active and who is more passive in eddeddy? (when they are adults of course)

i'm not a relationship expert so take all of this with a grain of salt. but my opinion, based on their very general personalities is that overall edd is more active and eddy is more passive. not a shocking revelation by any means. but honestly they might kind of trade those roles back and forth depending on the issue.

i think edd would prefer and genuinely enjoy being the one to handle the Big Stuff. things like finances, appointments, insurance, home improvement and maintenance (the boring structural stuff), etc. not that eddy is totally incompetent, or that edd doesn't trust him, but he has a particular way of handling things and wouldn't be able to rest worrying that something was late, missed or that even a minute of rumination was spared before a big decision was made.

same with cleaning. eddy appears to be a fairly tidy person already, based on his childhood room, and he'd inevitably pick up some of edd's habits once they've been living together. so they keep a very neat home in general, but when it comes to the use of any chemical stronger than idk maybe a lysol wipe, edd handles it. eddy accidentally making mustard gas is such a funny image in my head.

of course, eddy's active in meal planning and preparation while edd is passive, eating whatever eddy makes, brings home, etc. edd's very much the person who feels hungry but never knows what they want to eat. left to his own devices he'd subsist on water, plain oatmeal and like... a string cheese. or just ignore his hunger entirely. so he's happy to let eddy take charge and have fewer decisions to make throughout the day. plus, eddy's a great cook, so it works out.

eddy's also in charge of aesthetics, whether it's home decor or helping edd expand his wardrobe. eddy's a maximalist, while edd's a minimalist, so they butt heads on a lot of things. but eddy's a brat and manages to get his way about 85% of the time. their living room is giving:

minus the dog cuz they don't own pets (til ed moves in with his ratties 💚)

if it was up to edd, he'd own exactly 5 of his signature hats, 4 pairs of shoes (formal, casual, utility, and of course his house shoes) however many pairs of underwear and socks come in a value pack, 3 pairs of sensible pants, 2 pairs of shorts, 3 long sleeve shirts, 5 short sleeve, and so on. no logos, no wild patterns or colors, no frills. eddy wonders how he lives like this. it's not necessarily that eddy dresses edd, but gives him more, interesting options to choose from at the very least. they have been known to coordinate outfits from time to time too. embarrassing.

i imagine eddy being the more active one when it comes to entertainment, specifically planning date nights or vacations. he knows edd's stress tells and is quick to intervene with the suggestion that they go out or take a weekend trip together.

when it comes to relational issues, it's reasonable to assume that either of them might be passive or active depending on the matter at hand. they both come off as the passive aggressive type, but eddy's perhaps a bit more...aggressive. more likely to blurt out what he's thinking without much sugar coating. if it's really serious, edd will dance around the issue, hemming and hawing, or even ignore something entirely. only for a while, since his passivity comes back to bite him in the ass when his annoyance reaches a boiling point and he lashes out in one way or another. he's learning to be more direct but it's a process.

i know it seems like i think edd is more passive but overall i'd say it's a good mix between them, and that eddy's slightly more passive. cuz he knows and trusts that edd will take care of the really important stuff and that every i will be dotted, and every t crossed. he's happy not to have to make those decisions, too much pressure. and edd needs to have control over those major things and is fine with letting eddy take charge of things that add some much needed enrichment to his life and their life together. he would very easily let that kind of stuff fall by the wayside otherwise.

I really appreciate it but I'm also... idk how to say it... but AI will be a part in this day and age if we like it or not. I am 1000% convinced though, that the skill required to draw will NEVER be wasted and will always hold much more value in the long run. There's a fundamental knowledge about anatomy, perspective, color theory, composition, ect... I also hope that the beast will eat itself at one point.

Drawing/painting has been through a LOT of different epochs and always found a way. I actually have the fantasy that maybe traditional art will gain value again, because you can't type in a few words and have an actual drawing on paper lol. But a real artist CAN draw on paper, a canvas, or whatever. Because he has the skill. AI takes 0% skill.

Even if my art isn't perfect, I see it as a craft, and the act alone, the struggle, the overcoming of the struggle... it's a lifestyle. Everything is about art to me. It teaches discipline, also.

From what I have seen, AI can also not do good gore art??? Like... especially with such topics, there is much passion and feeling behind it. AI is mostly plastic pretty, lifeless (at least the ones I have seen so far). I'm talking about an individual artist here, I know the whole topic is scary for professional illustrators in the industry, and I can't really say anything to that, but for now all the ones I follow are still doing pretty good.

I wish we saw some bonding between Bonnie and Qetsiyah or something, like imagine meeting your ANCESTOR who started all of this shit (besides Dahlia, Inadu, and Esther, the whole doppelgänger thing existing is what I’m talking about). Isn’t it crazy that even outside potential romantic relationships, there’s still so much lacking in Bonnie’s writing in the show? Like besides the MFG, she has ZERO FRIENDS. Stefan isn’t really her friend, she wasn’t friends with Damon until the whole prison world shit, I think, Stefan and Caroline were friends with Klaus (Caroline being more of a fling than a friend, but whatever), I forgot who Elena was friends with, but my point is that Bonnie is actually more sidelined than I thought. Bonnie never even had enemies that were strictly HER enemies. Kai could count as one, but he was more focused on Alaric and the Parker family when he left the prison world, Elena was one of the vocal points of the show, so she had all that shit, Caroline had that whole thing with Tyler and Klaus and other storylines, where was BONNIE’S STORYLINE.

Like isn’t it crazy that Klaus and all these people talk about how powerful and epic the Bennetts are, so why isn’t Bonnie considered a threat? Like… it literally doesn’t make sense. Like you’re telling me that everyone knew Bonnie was crazy powerful and had a crazily powerful ancestral background, she’s a psychic, she can create dimensions, etc… but she’s somehow just the MFG helper… right.

I would’ve liked to see Qetsiyah and Bonnie see each other as family. Have Qetsiyah uplift Bonnie rather than cause her pain by being the anchor. Qetsiyah was arrogant as hell. Why should Qetsiyah lessen who she is? Everything ties back to her as the oldest Bennett witch we meet.

Qetsiyah made Silas suffer for his manipulation and abuse of her magic. Bonnie’s in the same position Qetsiyah was in. A young Bennett witch being used by vampires for their own deeds. So why not have Qetsiyah remind Bonnie she’s not just any witch she’s a Bennett witch. She’s stronger than them, she doesn’t have to take their shit just because she loves them. Fight back.

TVDU has no value for their characters of color and doesn’t want the Bennett’s as a family. I do think it would’ve been nice if Bonnie’s magical education was handled better but Bonnie being a self taught witch through it all really makes her stand out more.

ngl i had (in retrospective way too much) hopes in regards to the portrayal of Christianity in HH. as someone whose mental health was severely affected by bad christian values since i was a child, it could've been such a great concept...but no. (i mean its v*v what are you supposed to expect) i kind of wished for good portrayal of religion being used as an excuse to hate on specific people, how it affects real laws, how sentences/paragraphs of holy scriptures are falsely interpreted, maybe even on purpose, or to hurt people and the hypocrisy behind it all, but also showing that the entirety of Christianity isnt *just* that; people who believe in Christianity like its supposed to be, to work on achieving peace, to be kind and considerate, to help those in need and maybe even love the sinners. And not to judge and hate. If they can portray Hell as shitty as it's meant to be and insist that people like Angel D. should get redemption, they can do the same for the other side? Like the OG idea of redemption was better than what the hell they're trying to do now, the Heaven vs Hell™ thing.. And I'm saying this as an athiest...

One particular idea i had in mind is that Heaven's citizens catch wind of what THEIR belief is used for by the angels & adam and rebel, and maybe even help Charlie by causing a disturbance in Heaven.

making character sprites as a one-person indie game developer

(huh. turns out this post on cohost didnt have a “read me” section”. o well. i will put the read me section Here,  before any of da actual text. click it if u dare !!)

so, i've been meaning on making a Big post talkin all about how i actually Make my games and my processes n such ,but also ive been procrastinating on making it for so long that i thought i might as well just make One part of that post now .. and its about making the Character Sprites for my games .

So. these images are the (mostly) full sprite sheets of the three characters from my game UNITRES Dreams, taken directly from the big giant 'charactersprites.png' image that i used for nearly every sprite for Most of the game's development. some quick things to make note of: First off, Trees (the first one) was one of the earliest things i made for the game, and had their sprite sheet redone Twice since then.. this first picture doesnt contain the latest sprite sheet as the new sprites were done on aesprite and im too lazy to make a sprite sheet out of them right now.

Secondly, the Second character (the pink one), had two different designs, being completely redesigned as i didnt like their first design all too much. their redesign's animations was done in aesprite, but i made a sprite sheet out of em before so i was able to just put them here. Lastly, the Third character (the blue one with the big silly hat) remained mostly unchanged as their original sprites and design were pretty good, but they needed to be cleaned up and given better colors so i ended up polishing all of their sprites.

Anyways. it's going to be hard for me to explain my actual process, as i am Bad With Words, but i will try my best.. So. for Most of my time as a game dev, I've used Paint.NET for Everything. This includes backgrounds, tilesets, and every animation ever in all of my games. For my character sprites specifically, i usually start with making the color palette (which is a whole different process where i mess around with the RGB values until i get a specific color that i think looks pretty ... its hard to describe). When making a new character, i usaully start with an Idle animation, just so i have a good base to make all the other sprites on. I just make a sketch of the character, then i do the flat colors (as my games dont have line art), and once i have the colors i start doing the rendering , where i try to pull off a sort of Sonic CD-esque , celshaded style while Also including a bit of anti-aliasing and other modern pixel art techniques to give the sprites more Depth and make them look Sharp. Idk. it's hard to describe my process in words ... i Did make a video Years ago showing off my process, but its old and my editing in that video isnt the Greatest.

So., that's my process Lol . the only thing thats really changed is that Now i use Aesprite for making the Actual Animations , as making animations with Paint.NET is Really Difficult and Annoying , as i have No Idea how the animation will Look until it actually appears ingame .. which results in the early versions of each character's animations looking a little weird (such as Trees' first two versions, the first version of the Pink character, and the Blue character's animations.. .though the blue character isnt as bad as the other two and i kept their animations mostly the same in the final game LOL).

Something that people have kind of criticized about UNITRES Dreams' animations is that some of em dont exactly ... Look Good. a lot of animations are pretty Inconsistent , with characters like Trees having inconsistent sizes in some animations and the movement in animations such as the Pink character's walking animation and various other animations (Especially the ones made in Paint.NET) looking Unnatural.

And Well .. here's the thing about making animations and sprites for something like this. When you're the Main person making an indie game, you have Tons of different parts of the game that need to be worked on while having Very little time to work on others. On Top of making every single animation for UNITRES , i had to make every single Tileset and background for every single level, On Top of making the Level Layouts , Programming , and even making sprites for things like the UI. And you have to constantly Test the game to make sure everything works and things Look good.

So. i had very little time to work on the sprites, and i Knew this. Something you have to consider is that, not only are you making the animations for the main character , you Also have to make Tons of animations and sprites for Literally Every Other Aspect of The Game . this includes Enemies , Level Gimmicks , NPCs, And the UI .. so you end up having to work on Thousands of sprites by yourself in such a short time.

I ain't the best animator , nor the best sprite artist . But , for this game I chose an art style which is Kinda simple and comfortable for me, which made making things like tilesets and backgrounds so much easier for me. The character sprites specificially only use a few amount of colors ,but also i tried my best to give them as much depth and make them as Colorful looking as i could. Also , something you might notice is that all of the playable characters dont actually have a whole lot of animations .. each of the characters only have the Exact amount of frames and animations necessary for them to Look Good moving around the levels. Aside from a few Gimmick Specific animations that arent in the sprite sheets i posted , there arent many Extra animations or animations with Tons of Frames that i wish i could have added .. and it Kind Of Sucks . Having to split my time across Three Different Characters , i had no time to make any animations Too Crazy or Too Smooth , and i couldnt include any extra animations that could add a bit of personality to the characters ... In Fact ,the Idle "animation" isnt an animation , its just a still frame. I didnt have time to even make a simple waiting animation !!

It Is What It Is. For what its worth , Ithink Im pretty proud of the animations i did for UNITRES Dreams. while i think ive become a much better artist and animator since then, i still think some animations and some of the frames look really good ..just looking at some of the still frames is really nice .. so i think i did a good job, especially for a game that was made in 2 years and is Free. And Hey, while the animations in UNITRES Dreams may not be the best or have the most smooth animations , i Did get to experiment with making more smooth animations for TREES' ADVENTURE. while ,now, i think some stuff could use some work, i am Really Proud of how some of the animations look .. ididnt get to make Too Many extra animations (there still isnt even an Idle animation), i Did get to make some cool extra animations , such as individual animations for your Jump that are based on how fast you're moving . (the original post on cohost had a buncha gifs of da animations but im Too Fuckin Tired 2 post em here LOL !!!)

So Yea . the moral of the story: making video games is kind of hard and time consuming , Especially when you're like , the Only one working on them. just make sure to plan ahead and try not to overwork urself .. make what you can and do it when you can. Thats what i think , anyways.
