What if I said you don’t need to be physically affectionate with your partner. What if I said you don’t have to ever kiss them on the lips. Or hold their hands. Or cuddle. What if I said that expecting physical touch out of a partner without talking about those things first is weird, because you shouldn’t expect those to be default givens to you. The same way you wouldn’t expect (or I’d hope you wouldn’t expect) those to be default givens in a friendship.
Sure, a lotta people may be fine with physical affection with their romantic partner, but have you ever considered that not everyone does. Would you assume that someone’s romantic relationship is “probably doing poorly” if you learned they don’t engage in physical affection like that. Would you pity the person who respects the boundaries of their partner that feels uncomfortable with physical touch. Would you villainize the person who set that boundary.
#I was pondering about the fact that lip kisses are dubbed as strictly romantic#& I already made a post abt how I think that’s ridiculous and how some ppl may express platonic affection through lip kisses#& I was thinking about how this personally applies to me and like#I realized that……. I don’t need lip kisses at all??????#if I never kiss a romantic partner while in a relationship that wouldn’t bother me#it also wouldn’t bother me if they DID want lip kisses#same applies to friendships#I wouldn’t be bothered if a friend said they like expressing platonic love through lip kisses#& I’m obviously not bothered if they don’t want that#idk I’m finding that a lotta rules for romance & platonic love is very arbitrary and ridiculous#mainly been thinking abt this bc I’ve been remembering this one TikTok of two girls showing a montage of photos of their friendship#& in one of the photos they were kissing each other on the lips#& they clarified that they were doing it in a platonic way#however ppl made a meme abt it & would draw their character ships to it#and I remember that leaving a sour taste in my mouth bc like… bro why are you implying that lip kissing can only be romantic????#I have so many thoughts abt this stuff tho#I think I might make one of my OC ships have a thing where they’re like… NOT super physically affectionate#bc one of the characters HATES physical touch#idk it’s just been on my mind a lot these past couple days#& unfortunately who I’d go to for bc fellow aro-specs be camping rn so no texting#anyway rambling in the post AND in the tags#relationship anarchist#relationship anarchy

If Juju’s AO3 is still up you could leave a comment on one of her fics, since ao3 comments are sent right to the email she’d see it 100%
Ngl to you I greatly considered it but honesty that would probably be my very very last resort if I do it at all. That honestly just seems- idk strangely pushy to me and the last thing I want to do is encroach onto someone like that.

WORD COUNT: ~1.4K WARNINGS: Mentions of alcohol, idk. F!Reader
Bartender!Takuma Ino has been rotting my brain so here's a little something.
Bartender!Takuma, who is one of three bartenders in a local pub. He’s known for his mixing skills and his moves, constantly getting the highest tips due to his level of wit, skill and his handsome face.
Bartender!Takuma who always has a keen eye for guests and listens attentively when he notices someone with worries. He has a special drink for each occasion that he gives a concerned guest. For a broken heart he has a soft pastel blue coloured sweet cocktail meant to heal. For financial trouble he has a clear drink with green syrup that brings fortune. For family struggles he has a pink cocktail, supposed to lift all the worries and help rekindle.
Bartender!Takuma who gets in trouble with his boss for giving out those cocktails for free (one per guest though) but always gets off the hook cause he brings the most business into the pub and is well liked by all locals.
Bartender!Takuma whose eyes are immediately on you when he sees you walk in. He doesn’t say a word about it but he notices the tear stains on your cheeks, the chapped lips from biting them nervously, the unfocused gaze in your eyes. He’s immediately in front of you when you sit down at the bar, ready to take your order.
Bartender!Takuma who mixes you a special and unique sweet cocktail after you tell him you don’t have the mind to choose from a long list of drinks. He serves you the cocktail with a reassuring smile.
Bartender!Takuma who is known as the one to always make a show but tonight he didn’t perform a single move because all his attention is on you. He keeps coming back to you and asks you if everything is okay, but he never comes across as pressuring or pushing.
Bartender!Takuma who doesn’t give you advice because he knows advice from someone else might come from a good place but mostly falls on deaf ears until the person actually learns the lesson on their own, so he settles for listening to you instead.
Bartender!Takuma whose shift ended half an hour ago, yet he still stands behind the bar, talking to you about mindless stuff until you cheer up a little more because he can’t leave without seeing you smile.
Bartender!Takuma who asks if he should call you a taxi or bring you home himself when you tell him it’s time to go but he knows you’ve had a few drinks. You reassure him that your friend will pick you up and you won’t drive yourself, which has him visibly relieved.
Bartender!Takuma who watches you leave with the sour taste of regret in his mouth that he didn’t ask you for your number or at least gave you his. But he knows it would be unprofessional, and despite everything you (and other locals) share with the bartenders you’re still all just paying customers.
Bartender!Takuma who leaves that day with the least tips he ever got because most of his attention was on you but he really doesn’t care about that because as long as he made you smile it was all worth it.
Bartender!Takuma who spends his shifts during the next few days watching the door almost obsessively in hopes to see you walk in again but he’s disappointed every time it’s someone else. He’s waiting to see you again.
Bartender!Takuma who always gives up on seeing you again and tries to forget you by doing his job extra well, performing different bartending moves and throwing bottles and glasses in the air, effortlessly catching them all and putting on a show for all the guests. He’s so immersed in the show that he only notices the wave of new customers when he approaches them from behind the bar.
Bartender!Takuma who is absolutely elated and immediately has a bright smile on his face when he realizes you are among the wave of customers. He does his best to cater to everyone’s wishes but his attention is still mostly on you as he asks you about stuff related to your first night in the bar. It makes you blush that he remembers even small details.
Bartender!Takuma who doesn’t seem to notice the glances your friends give you whenever he performs a trick just for you. He still performs for other guests too but it’s obvious that he’s putting much more effort into the moves he makes for you.
Bartender!Takuma who slowly but surely gets to know you more, your full name and zodiac, as you tell him happily, your profession, your worries, your hobbies, your likes and dislikes. He’s happy you’re talking to him so much and he’s opening up to you just the same.
Bartender!Takuma who once again forgot to ask you for your number when you leave but it’s okay because he has the strong impression that you’ll visit the pub again, and he hopes it’s because of him.
Bartender!Takuma who is smiling like a little kid on Christmas when he sees you again because he was right that you’d come back. His two colleagues are happy you’re back too because if they had to listen to him talk about you any more they would have punched him.
Bartender!Takuma who builds a solid friendship with you over the course of weeks. You don’t know it but his colleagues tell him when you come in on his days off and how your happy smile always falters when they tell you he’s not working. His heart always skips a beat when he thinks about it
Bartender!Takuma who gladly caters to all your wishes in everything cocktail-wise and always knows which moves to make to get you to laugh. Everytime he succeeds his heart makes a little jump.
Bartender!Takuma who gets urged by his colleagues to finally make a move and ask you out because now that you frequent the pub they have seen many guys looking at you. He gets visibly upset when they tell him that men have bought you drinks on his day off.
Bartender!Takuma who is immediately irritated when a guy on the other side of the bar buys you a drink and tells him to give you a message. But it’s his job, so he has to do it. Instead of making the drink and giving it to you right away however, he asks you if you want to accept it.
Bartender!Takuma who smiles a little too happily when you ask him if it’s impolite to reject the drink from the guy. He reassures you that it’s not impolite and takes care of the guy, in a more or less polite manner because he’d like to keep his job.
Bartender!Takuma who scowls the immediate moment a stranger approaches you and asks if they can buy you a drink. It’s different when someone is standing right next to you, so he knows you’re likely to accept just so you don’t anger the stranger. He takes the stranger's order, internally rolling his eyes at the bitter drink he ordered for you because he knows you don’t like bitter cocktails.
Bartender!Takuma who nonetheless mixes the drink and even performs some of his skilled moves to get you to look at him. When he serves the drink he accidentally spills it, making sure it stains the stranger’s pants. Of course he apologizes, but only you know that it’s a half assed apology that he doesn’t mean
Bartender!Takuma who swears the entire pub can hear his heart leaping when you thank him for saving you with his little stunt. It’s the first time he’s actually blushing and you think it makes him look even more handsome.
Bartender!Takuma who finally has the guts to ask you if you want to go out with him after weeks of pining for you. He’s not as smooth when he asks you, almost a little clumsy with his words but unbeknownst to him you think it makes him seem even cuter.
Bartender!Takuma who can’t hide his relieved and happy smile when you agree on a date. He’s so happy he completely forgets to ask for your number or when you have time. When you leave he wants to kick himself because how can he take you out on a date if he doesn’t even have your number.
Bartender!Takuma who almost breaks out in a happy dance when one of his colleagues hands him the napkin you purposely left behind with your number on it. He’s so happy he seems to be floating and beaming, brighter than the sun itself. All because he’s soon taking you out on the best date you ever had.

I've never felt more vindicated in my opinion that BG3 is an absolute crap Baldur's Gate game and only works as a Larian game than just now when I saw someone on tiktok say (and I quote)
"BG3 didn't get me into the Baldur's Gate series, it got me interested in Larian Studios' work."
BRUH.
No shade to the commenter because I absolutely get why they feel that way, that is not my issue. I'm just absolutely flabbergasted how you can fumble the "making a sequel" part of your job so bad, people legitimately don't give a shit about the previous installments or where the story might go from there. Maybe that would be understandable if the OG games were bad, but those are literally genere-defining classics???
People who haven't played BG1 and 2, don't play Durge and/or read up on the topic largely don't even know that Baldur's Gate is The Bhaalspawn Series because Larian almost completely stepped away from that in favour of making a self contained DnD original while still keeping the name. I feel like I'm going insane because I can't be the only one who is bothered by it? Right?? Hasn't Hollywood been getting shit for nostalgia bait constantly for the last few years? Yet people say this like it's a good thing, an achievement on Larian's part and a testament to how good the game is. Idk, it just leaves such a sour taste in my mouth.

Based on the bit about him being slightly narcissistic, I'd be distrustful towards Reboot!Wally and I'd tell him so to his face. Like, is he the kinda guy who's allergic to accountability? Is he the kinda guy who would purposefully hurt someone for no good reason? Is he the kinda guy who's impossible to please?
(The term "narcissist" leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.)
It's purely not to hurt anyone. it's more like "My job is to do better than you. so I am better." in a way... but it's more because of a slightly hurt ego/ pride. he likes to tell himself he's great because he fears that he isn't. Genuinely, he's really nice and helpful. but he's only snooty and snarky to those he doesn't like or if someone seems off to him. In this case, it's towards OG Wally out of misunderstanding.
maybe I shouldn't have used the word "Narcissist" and more of "Prideful" Yea... I just think that fits more lol!
if I were to describe it. he's just blunt and straightforward. slightly playful and teases light-heartedly. slightly Cunning and Charismatic...
bitter and sour if annoyed or angry, but he would just brush it off and try to ignore it. if not then he's being sarcastic.
with a big smile on his face too. He would still help you out if he liked you or not- "Love thy Neighbor"
(the truth is that there is no better Wally! He's just a sour patch kid lmao! I hope that helps answered and made since idk I'm sorry!...)

I also wasn't the biggest fan of Forsaken. It sounded super interesting, but man it just...I dunno. It didn't feel right. Not much about it really caught me. Especially a lot of Connor's reactions. They felt really watered down, in a way. Things he was a lot angrier about in the game (and for damn good reason) were. Ack what are the words. He was less angrier than he should have been at some of those things if that makes sense?
I dunno. Tried to give Forsaken a chance and it just kinda wasn't my thing basically.
No yeah I agree. They kinda half assed what could have been an interesting and conflicting read and character study (with haytham as an unreliable narrator) but. Idk it fumbled. Especially when it came to Connor’s writing and autonomy (I wish there was a dual perspective tbh?? Like commentary being spliced here or there from Connor reading the journal being like “he is blowing hot air out his ass rn that is NOT what happened)
I said this before and I’ll say it again: ratonhnhaké:ton unironically going “damn maybe Haytham’s right I should have listened to him” is so intuitively wrong to me and kinda has a sour taste in my mouth with the narrative kinda... Justifying haytham’s manipulation of him by watering down his side of the story so much? And validating Ratonhnhaké:ton’s second guessing and guilt bc haytham was playing on that
Like “maybe I should have” or “maybe if I wasn’t” Bro you were being manipulated and used. By everyone around you. Especially by your colonizer father who only bothered to call you son in order to garner allyship to take revenge on a flaky templar while still belittling you and using loaded rhetoric like ‘saving you from your ignorance’. It’s not your fault. Please.
I haven’t reread it in yeeeaaarsbut I remember it fr leaving a sour taste in my mouth
Best thing about the book was leaving in his final speech but it felt somewhat incongruous to how Connor was written the rest of the book and it would have been greatly improved if he was given better treatment. Or y know. Have a novelization from his pov.

So... my thoughts on the latest season of Sex Education is a little... jumbled, but overall I give it, like, a 7/10. Here's just some of the parts that I liked and disliked (rmb that this is just my interpretation of watching it and is no way conclusive against other interpretations)
Spoilers below!
Likes
I like that Cavendish is kind of a turn-tables situation where queer/left-wing-progressive ppl are at the top of the social food chain. It realistically shows how even in a space where discrimination of any kind is prohibited, there will still be complex issues that need to be discussed, e.g., toxic positivity, accessibity issues etc.
I also like Eric's whole storyline of finding himself with God. I'm not religious or anything, but I feel his storyline are going to empower a lot of religious queer people.
Adam is always a favourite. His actor just brings so much to the table and his performance is always outstanding. His closure scene with Eric was 💖💖
I love that the show confronts Otis' standing of privilige and how he's sidelined his friendship with Eric. I also like how the main relationship that got repaired was his and Eric's. It's nice to see platonic friendships take the center stage over romantic ones.
I love that Maeve and Otis show how an amicable breakup, still full of love, can be. It shows that if you love someone, you'll love them enough not to hold them back.
Maeve's funeral speech, and her scene conversing with Jean at the dining table made me weepppppp.
I also loved the different ways of grieving the show shows with Maeve and Sean. Sean was clearly in pain, and as the older one, he'd probably seen a bit more shit than Maeve. And he was valid for not wanting to do the funeral because of the pain his mother caused him. But also, Maeve's wish to honour her mother one last time was commendable as well. She remembers the good AND the bad of her mother, and that's just really big of her.
I loved the scene with her telling her professor that a teacher's word holds a lot of power.
I love Maeve's arc entirely basically.
Dislikes
O's entire character was... problematic. Like she did quite a number of problematic things that weren't addressed in the storyline at all. Like she presses her way into other's vulnerabilities without them giving her explicit consent. She looks at things that by all terms, should have been left strictly confidential (Jean's paper about Otis, for example) and then brings it up as if it were a completely okay thing to do. I really wanted to like her, like I see where she was coming from and she has really cool style and she's the only East Asian rep for the show. Just, as an East Asian person watching this (though I'm not from the UK), it just felt very othering that the ONLY East Asian rep in the show had to be played against the main character. I didn’t like her because she was the story's antagonist to the main character. If there were other East Asians in the series, I might have felt better about it but like, O being the only one, and also being a problematic character just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
I really think Adam's storyline could have been integrated more into the Cavendish storyline. Coz right now his just feels like it's hanging on the side with no real connection to the main plot. I love his horses tho.
The show should really have stuck with its existing characters rather than broadening the scope to... Jo, for example. Anwar and Olivia could have been explored. Idk what went on behind the scenes but like, for a final season, shifting the main focus to the main cast and just a couple new ones should have been enough. I love that it's working to be diverse and inclusive, but jam-packing so many different experiences into one last season just felt... jarring for the season's ending.

don’t get me wrong, as happy and excited as i am about the catfish comeback and (possibility) of new music, the way nothing that has happened since summer 2021 has been publicly addressed by the band at all, leaves a very sour taste in my mouth.
not a word about dropping out of the two cardiff shows two weeks before they were happening, nothing about bob leaving in september – not even just resharing his post as an instagram story, which would've been the bare minimum – and nothing about bondy leaving after being in the band for years.... and now they’re just back? without any explanation?
idk that just seems so incredibly disingenuous to what they as a band but especially van have always preached. i’m sorry but it does not seem like you are only "in it for the fans and the live music" when you couldn't be arsed to make any sort of public statement in the over two years, that was between bob leaving and the reading and leeds headline announcement, to let your fans know what was going on.
it just feels very disrespectful, not only to the two long-time band members that left the band but also to the thousands upon thousands of fans – doesn't matter if die-hard or casual – that were left with so many questions.
again i am very excited for what is to come, i will go and see them if they'll tour in europe and i will always appreciate van for the music but my opinion of him (and benji) has changed drastically since 2021 and i don't know if that can ever change.

ROUND 1, MATCH 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut!
Sam Wayne
Sam Wayne is a possessive stalker of a ghost who reeks of rotting meat and leaves puddles of yellow, bloody pus wherever he stands too long. He has alluded to wanting the PC to only ever be with him and that their relationships with any of the other characters are meaningless in comparison to the one they "share". Is always watching the PC and disregards their constant requests to stop, including while they sleep and shower. Regards any decision they make that does align with his own as "very foolish". And even though it was when he was actually still alive....Wayne is TECHNICALLY your cousin Tabitha's ex and she gets really upset if you ask her permission to date her undead "sloppy seconds" lol
Penny
Idk if I got her name right but apparently to romance her you need to be an ableist dick, so.
In one of her heart event cut scenes she pushes a man in a wheelchair out of the way in an attempt to "help" him. Calling her out on this wildly inappropriate and ableist behaviour makes you lose heart points with her. To gain heart points you have to tell her this was a perfectly fine thing to do. So it's support ableism or lose points with her. The obvious choice is lose points. This interaction puts such a sour taste in my mouth that I could NEVER romance her.
Abelist!!! physically assaults a wheelchair user (shoving him out of the way without his consent), also very much a trad wife in general.
listen man. she's supposed to be a nice girl and everything. but her romance route is so insufferable. she helps george (who is physically disabled) without asking him if he wanted help, and the CORRECT dialogue option is to tell her she was in the right for doing this (yikes. this just irks me so much as a disabled person and it makes me think she cares more about being seen as helpful than actually being helpful). there are two points in her route where if you dont choose the right option you can lose six hearts at once, and she is the ONLY character who does this. her only personality traits are nice and likes kids. out of all the characters you can romance in this game she feels the most like a generic archetype.

I know Deuxmoi is the literal worst (and I take all her confessions with a grain of salt) but she just posted a confession that claims Matty was the one the break it off (without warning) and I’m sorry but I have to laugh. Maylors have said for months that there’s no way he was the one to end things because “she’s the love of his life” as if he’s some pathetic lost puppy that’s just going to shed his entire personality and go into hiding to be with her.
We’ll never know the full story but if he did that, especially with a collaboration on the line, good for him. I’m a huge TS fan but everything that happened put a sour taste in my mouth and I still feel awful for him. It blows my mind that anyone thinks a relationship is worth enduring that kind of public humiliation and abuse. He’s allowed to be hurt and I’m glad he’s admitted that he wasn’t doing well.
Yeah, I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with DM that she (they? Idk man) won’t leave that particular drama in May 2023 where it fuckin belongs.
It pisses me off to no end, thinking about how Matty was treated at the time. By Taylor. By her fans. By the press. Even by some of our own, like the 1975 fans. The one thing I’ve learned from it all is that he’s a way better and softer person than he’s given credit for. Whatever happened, he certainly paid for it. Dearly. But it’s over now. As it should be. Let it die.
