The Masked Singer Season 5 Episode 7 Recap: The Super 8! (Commentary Part 1)

Hello my fellow Masked Singer lovers! Welcome (or welcome back) to Ana's Masked Singer recap! Today, we have the Super Eight performing with a double elimination, so since my guesses haven't changed since last time & tumblr only allows 10 photos per blog post, I’m splitting this into 2 parts: this one (part 1) is going to be a recap of the episode and who went home and performances and all that good stuff... the 2nd part is going to be my locked in guesses from here on out because I am so positive about these guesses guys! Commentary: he sang In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins and it was a song that I think suited him well, but like you can tell that he was constrained and out of breath. He could have moved more and done some dancing but he was pretty out of breath, since it takes a lot of breath to sing like he does. He has a really great raspy voice, it made me sad that he left, but I kind of expected it.

It was her most fun performance, I am so upset she went home, she was really getting into it, and her confidence was really showing. I absolutely enjoyed it and am gutted to see her go. However, I did know who she was, Tamera Mowry! I adored her from the Disney Channel Original Movie Twitches with her twin Tia so like I am so happy to see her! Still sad that she was eliminated tho 😒

Commentary: She sang Use Somebody by Kings of Leon and omg this was the best performance of the night! Like she kind of made me tear up a bit, she is so amazing wow! Her voice is insane... she has the potential to win it all I feel. She made that song her own and it was super beautiful and I was just fully enchanted in the song. She’s such an amazing talent... I am calling it now, she is going to the finale

2. Robopine 🦔

Commentary: You guys know how much I love Robopine, I think he also has potential to go to the finale, and his performance of Let’s Get It On by Marvin Gaye... ngl the song choice made me laugh, but here it is I can’t believe I am saying this, but it was sexy.... yes I am finding a Robopine sexy... idk what’s wrong with me either. This was such an amazing performance like his voice is pure butter, so smooth and yes sexy... I love it, he’s one of my absolute favorites from this season! I adore him.

3. Yeti ☃️

Commentary: Ok, he sang Lonely by Justin Bieber but like he was on ROLLER SKATES 🛼 OMG... He glided on that stage effortlessly with those skates, it was super impressive, especially because it seems like that costume is big, heavy, and hot. He didn’t miss a breath, he really nailed that song! He really is becoming a frontrunner in my eyes. It was a really special performance!

4. Piglet 🐷

Commentary: He sang The Pretender by Foo Fighters and it started out super slow and nice, then he really rocked it out. I enjoyed it, it was a super fun performance! He was rocking it, I wish he would have danced a bit and done some choreography, I felt like that was missing. However, he really rocked that song, and to me, it was the first time a song that wasn’t a ballad was really working in his favor.

5. Russian Dolls 🪆

Commentary: They sang 24k Magic by Bruno Mars, which was an interesting song choice, but they really nailed it with the falsettos and harmonies, it was great ngl! Was it my favorite? Nope, not a chance. However, I gotta give it to them, it doesn’t seem like the kind of song they would sing and they did a better job than I would have given them credit for. But like this whole turns into 4 dolls thing is getting on my nerves a bit ngl.

6. Chameleon 🦎

Commentary: He rapped Regulate by Warren G and he got flow I can’t lie... even though I thought he was gonna go home. It was my least favorite performance of the night, but of all the rappers on the show, he has been the best. I wish he would have also sang a bit, because he can also sing, I know this (especially if it is who I think it is). He really did great, no complaints, nobody sucked!
