This is a redraw of an image I made in 2018 if I remember correctly, also there isn't enough Proteus art. As a curiosity, the crystals on the side of the couch where he is sitting are made of Pyrite, a mineral that is also called "fool's gold" and of relatively low value but very malleable.

He **IS** narcissistic.

I believe he was JEALOUS of shockwave (other than shockwave’s betraying of the senate, and working alongside basically criminals, and being smart, predicting, etc..), THAT was one of his reasons as to why shockwave had empurata.

The reason he ordered shockwave to get shadowplay(ed) is because proteus KNEW, that shockwave’s explosive(or bipolar) personality would take a toll on the senate. And because shockwave was like that, and liked disrespecting Proteus.. proteus did himself a favor, and proceeded to make a lobotomy, BECAUSE he knew shockwave would be more serious, take stuff seriously, and because it would serve as an advantage to proteus.

My man’s stank. He showers monthly.

Tidbits of Cybertron and the culture.

I present to the yandere to end all yanderes: Senator Proteus.

Can you imagine how terrifying that would be?

It's all about control.

People think that they have a choice, that they decide what happens next. They don't. They are all simply walking down the roads paved for them. Whatever they walk left or right doesn't matter because in the end they all end up where they were intended to. Where those who paved the road made it end.

Of course, there are exceptions. Dissidents. Rebellious sparks that refuse to follow the rules, no matter what the consequences may be. These are dangerous people, for others may feel 'inspired' to break free from the strict guidelines set for them. That's why they need to be dealt with swiftly. Sometimes it's easy. Show them how harsh the world can be to those who do not listen and then they will quietly fall back in line, heads bowed in shame of daring to dream.

Other times, harsher methods have to be taken. Some bots just won't listen, after all. Thankfully, there are procedures in place, made for just these rebellious few.

Sometimes, these procedures have to go to the extreme.

Gazing down upon the once freethinker in front of him, Proteus thinks they must feel lucky. If not for him, they would have been subjected to shadowplay long ago. Perhaps even empurata. He shudders at the thought of it. Yes, they are lucky that he was there to catch them, to take them under his wing. How many bots gets to claim that they had the pleasure of being guided by a senator? Less than he can count on his two servos, that's for sure.

Proteus is a merciful mech. Where others would caste them aside, deem them a lost cause, he extended a helping servo. When they were at their lowest, on the brink of no turning back, he was there for them. Of course, there's no need for them to know how involved he was in the process of bringing them to that point. Not that they would ever suspect him. He's senator Proteus after all. Kind, thoughtful, trusted Proteus. He only has the best for Cybertron in mind. And that includes them.

It's so easy to pave the way for them. Give them a few choices that they think matter and they trust him blindly. Left or right, it doesn't matter, because the road always leads back to him. The one that saved them. The one that guided them back into the light. The one that shaped them into a worthy member of society. His loyal follower.

It's all about control. Somewhere, there is always someone more powerful pulling the strings. They will never know this. Will never know how little their choices actually matter, how trapped they are.

Because Proteus is in control.

ANYWAY. so this turned into sort of fluffy scenarios. I hope you enjoy!

Shockwave: It’s nearly impossible to pry Shockwave away from his work, but when you manage, it’s like suddenly he remembers that you exist. He looks at you like you’re the most interesting creature in the universe, and he treats you as such. He listens raptly when you tell him about your day, and if he’s in a good mood he’ll let you pull him into the living room for a private dance. And because dancing is what you love most, he will enjoy it. He makes sure you go to bed happy and then returns to his work figuring out how best to preserve Cybertron and its people. 

Proteus: He’s not prone to public displays of affection, if only to protect you. He’s no fool, he knows he’s made more enemies than friends in Iacon —hell— even on Cybertron. But he attends every one of your performances,  always in the same balcony seat. He likes to look down on most people, but says that it feels different when you look up to him. After the show he brings you engex and flowers and he walks you home under the stars. Anyone passing averts their eyes, and it’s like you two are truly ethereal beings: You the dancing light and he the hovering dark. 

Ratbat: You met at one of Iacon’s more high-end bars, you know the ones that dazzled on the inside but no one danced unless they were trying to get work. You just couldn’t resist that spotless dance floor though. The way you commanded attention awed Ratbat. Of all who tried to dance with you, he wass (miraculously) the only one whose servo you accepted. He likes dancing as close as possible, so no one watching forgets you chose him that first night. He’s all hands, appreciating every smooth motion you make and praising the seemingly silver-lined edges of your frame. You two can always be found spending down time in a club, and no one dares suggest you do otherwise.

What followed was Proteus ordering Sentinel to duel Dai Atlas in order to prove guns were superior-
