"transmission replacements are one of the costliest car repairs, costing upwards of $5500 in some cases"
ok but like that's cheaper than a new car or even a decent used car and keeps me from having a note, as long as i can come up with the cash up-front and to be frank is also not significantly more expensive than the down payment on either kind of said car would be so like......

The Devil's in the details, and Cupid's in STI clinics
Ao3 LINK
Summary: “Come on! We’ll make a day of it!”
“No.”
“It’ll be like when we were kids- like a boy’s night out!”
“No!”
“Come on, Alec!”
“For the last time, and I can’t believe I have to say this, no, I will not go to a STI testing with you!”
Jace is persuasive, Alec really hates his brother, and Cupid is laughing maniacally from wherever that bastard hides from people.

“Come on! We’ll make a day of it!”
“No.”
“It’ll be like when we were kids- like a boy’s night out!”
“No!”
“Come on, Alec!”
“For the last time, and I can’t believe I have to say this, no, I will not go to a STI testing with you!”
Alec rolls his eyes. He puts the last washed dish to dry on the rack, then grabs a kitchen towel to dry his own hands, all the while Jace’s breathing is loud on the speakerphone.
“I’m pretty sure my neighbours can hear you breathing, idiot.” Alec rolls his eyes, switching from speakers to handset with a tap.
“It’s important to stay safe, brother, even if the frequency of someone’s sex life might qualify them for priesthood.”
Alec rolls his eyes. “Fuck you, asshole.”
“Yes and we both need to be tested before anyone does that.” Jace’s chuckle comes out as tinny, the call quality clearly dropping. “Tell me, since when’s the last time you got tested?”
“Last year.” Alec answers after a beat.
“As someone who cares about your physical well being, I am concerned. As someone who cares about your love life, I am concerned with a capital C.”
“You’re insufferable.” Alec rubs his temple wearily. “Fine, I’ll go with you.”
“I’ll pick you up at ten.” Jace says. “Wear sensible shoes.”
“I hate you.”
----------------
Alec does, in fact, hate him at least a tiny bit. Especially since he’s twenty minutes late. In pouring rain. On his only day off in two weeks. Finally at a quarter to eleven, Jace’s old Toyota shows up.
“What the actual fuck, dude!” Alec yells at him as soon as the door opens.
“I’m so fucking sorry, okay?” Jace notices the tremors in Alec, and turns the heat all the way up.
“What the hell happened?” Alec rubs his hands together to generate more body heat. “I’ve called you like a hundred times.”
“The car got stuck. I got down to see what’s wrong, and my phone slipped out of my pocket and into a puddle. Then I saw the tire got punctured. I had to run home and get a stepni.”
“For the love of God.” Alec swears.
“Do you still wanna go today?” Jace asks. “I won’t mind if you say no. I know you’ve been working at the office for weeks straight.”
“I’m fine. Let’s just get this over with.” Alec sighs. “Besides, you’re right. Health is an important issue. Especially if you’re disowned by your parents and have to live on your own without any safety net to fall on if you do accidentally catch something.”
“Hey, you know you always got me and Izzy, right?”
“I know.” Alec gives him a tight nod.
“Hey Alec, you know what I just realized?” Jace smirks with a hidden joke. “You’ve got a friend in me.”
“If you play that song on a loop again I swear to God!” Alec warns.
“Too late!” Jace hits the aux button with a shiteating grin.
Alec groans into his hands. “I hate you so much.”
-----------
“Er- Jace?”
“What?”
“Jace!” Alec hits his brother with his elbow. “What do I say?”
“What do you mean?”
“I can’t just go and say whatever comes to mind!” Alec sounds horrified. “What am I gonna ask, ‘hey come here often?’ Don’t be ridiculous.”
“Just go up and ask about our appointment.” Jace nudges him towards the counter.
“Our appointment was seventy five minutes ago! I can’t just go there and ask about it after we’re so late!” Jace detects the slight panic in Alec’s voice.
“You’re asking them for a rescheduling. With only one other patient in the office waiting. It’s not even that big a deal. Just go up to the counter.”
“We need a game plan.” Alec seems ready to plan a battle from the look of it.
“You goddamn introvert.” Jace shakes his head. “The receptionist is not a monster. They’re not gonna try to eat you for trying to reschedule!”
“Hi there!”
Jace and Alec jump just as the partition slides open all of a sudden, the cheery voice of the receptionist floating through. The pancakes from breakfast sit heavier in Alec’s stomach with every second he spends looking at the receptionist.
“Sorry to jump you both like this.” The beautiful man smiles. “But we’re going on break soon and since we have a birthday party later, we were wondering if we can finish up with all the appointments before we take a long break. I really hope you understand.”
“Oh, yeah, of course, I mean- we totally understand- whatever we can do to- actually you know what, our appointment time’s already over, I mean- how important is a STI checkup? Pff, not much, I’ll say.” Alec chokes out a nervous laugh.
“God, it’s like looking at a trainwreck in slow motion.” Jace covers his eyes with a hand.
“Um….” The receptionist- Magnus, Alec reads the name card- looks between the two of them confusedly.
“What this human disaster here,” Jace sends a disappointed glance towards Alec, “was trying to ask is, can we reschedule an appointment from about an hour and a half ago? We had a flat tire and the rain really blocked the roads.”
“I’m sure I can squeeze you in for a quick swab test.” Magnus smiles sweetly, tapping away at the computer. “Someone will be with you shortly.”
“Thank you.” Alec offers him a small smile.
“So, couples coming together for tests is very good for the relationship.” Magnus nods knowingly. Alec feels like he’s choking on air.
Jace chuckles, sarcasm heavy in his voice. “Oh yeah, we were practically joined at the hips since we were ten. But Chucklebunny here turns out wanted to be joined at the hearts too. He always says I’m the one for him, and vice versa of course.”
“You’re so annoying.” Alec rolls his eyes at Jace’s antics.
“You wuv me.” Jace counters.
“Doesn’t make you any less annoying.”
“Mr Lightwood?” A woman in blue scrubs comes in, a board in hand. “We’re ready for you. Follow me please.”
“Go get’em tiger.” Jace pats Alec as he gets up. Alec gives him the middle finger casually.
“My name's Dr Catarina Loss, I will be doing your exam today. I know this is an invasive procedure so if at any point you feel uncomfortable, just let me know, and I’ll….”
Catarina’s voice wafts away as she directs Alec to the exam room. Jace settles in with a magazine from the table, waiting for his turn.
“Who’s that cute boy with Cat?” Meliorn walks up to Magnus’s station, signing out for his break.
“Alec Lightwood. He’s here to get tested.” Magnus answers forlornly. “With his boyfriend.”
“All the hot ones are taken, huh?” Meliorn sighs.
“Tell me about it.” Magnus nods in agreement.
Simon runs in, chart board in hand. “Magnus, you got my next patient?”
“Shouldn’t you be on your break right now?” Meliorn points out from behind the counter.
“I’m pulling in some extra time.” Simon shrugs. “What? I need the new Nintendo switch.”
“You do you.” Magnus hands him a receipt. “Here you go, patient details.”
“Thanks.” Simon nods before calling out the name. “Uh, Mr Herondale?”
“That’ll be me.” Jace smiles. “Oh hi there.”
“My name’s Simon.” The brunette smiles. “ Please follow me. I’m gonna prep you before Dr Roberts can do your check up.”
“Well, Simon, you can prep me anytime.” Jace winks. Simon’s ears tinge pink with blush as he walks the blonde to an exam room.
“Did he seriously just flirt with Si while his boyfriend’s getting tested?” Magnus looks at their disappearing forms.”Un-freaking-believable.”
“Maybe they’re in a poly relationship, Magnus. Don’t judge.” Meliorn tuts.
“Well, I’m pretty sure Mr. Lightwood's not.” Magnus shares a look with his coworker. “Anyway, you’re right. None of my business.”
---------------
“Overtime is awesome.” Simon practically skips his way towards the reception. “I have a date!”
“Cool!” Meliorn fistbumps the brunette. “Who is it?”
“It’s that patient I prepped for Maia earlier. He plays the piano and he’s coming to see the band later.”
“Did he say anything about who he came with here?” Magnus asks, ignoring the warning look Meliorn sent his way.
“Yeah, he said his brother can take the car and won’t mind if I gave him a lift to the venue after I get off of work. He even joked that his brother would probably be mad that he pulled this. Why?”
“Brother, huh?” Magnus cocks an eyebrow. Meliorn looks at him pointedly. “What! He asked out Simon. That makes it our business.”
“What are you talking about?” Simon looks between the two, confused.
“Hi again.” Alec walks up to the counter. “Do you have the payment receipt for me?”
“Hello.” Magnus turns to look at Meliorn shaking his head one last time, before deciding to just day fuck it to professionalism. “Can I talk to you privately for a moment?”
“Uh, sure.” Alec nods, clearly thrown off track. Magnus walks up to the waiting lounge away from the counter, Alec hot on his heels.
“Is there anything wrong with my test?” Alec asks, distraught. “I know I should get checked at least every six months, but last year’s been so busy and I-”
“It’s not about your test. I’m so sorry, it must’ve seemed like that.” Magnus smiles apologetically. “We won’t have the results till tomorrow anyway.”
“Oh.” Alec's expression clears for a moment, before turning more confused. “What did you need to speak to me about then?”
“It’s about your boyfriend.” Magnus takes a deep breath. “I think he’s cheating on you.”
“What?” Alec asks, looking a little lost.
“I know, I’m so sorry.” Magnus winces. “I probably shouldn’t have been so blunt. It’s a terrible thing to hear, I know. He asked out one of our nurses and I had to tell you.”
“Um.” Alec offers his input in the conversation, ever so eloquently.
“One of my coworkers told me you guys could probably be poly, which again, is fine, but after those things your boyfriend said about you thinking he’s the one for you, and vice versa, I just had to say something.”
“Wait. You-” Alec narrows his eyes. “I’m not poly. I don’t have a boyfriend. We’re not dating.”
“Oh my God, please tell me you guys aren’t married.” Magnus feels horrified. “Simon’s gonna be devastated if he finds out.”
“Who the hell is Simon?” Alec feels the conversation is changing every other second. “What are you talking about?”
“Hey Alec, there you are!” Jace walks in, car keys spinning in his finger. “Can you take the car home? This cute nurse gets off duty in ten minutes and we have sort of a date, if you catch my drift.”
“Are you serious right now?” Magnus’s eyebrows threaten to vanish into his hairline. “Talking about cheating right in front of the man you married?”
“Married?” Jace looks at Alec, questions clear on his face. “What is he talking about, Alec?”
“I don’t know exactly.” Alec looks back at Magnus. “We’re not married. We’re not dating. He’s free to date all the people he wants.”
“What?” Now it’s Magnus’s turn to lose track of the conversation.
“Yeah, and it’s almost double the amount of people because my brother here never actually goes out to date.”
“I’m busy with work, okay!” Alec protests weakly.
“Wait, hold on. Brothers?” Magnus looks at the two. “You two look nothing alike.”
“I’m adopted.” Jace clarifies.
“Oh.” Realization finally dawns on Magnus. “Wait, then why did you say those things earlier?”
“I was joking?” Jace shrugs. “I thought it was obvious.”
“Oh, my God.” Magnus tries to hide his face behind his hands. “I am so, so sorry. Oh God what have I done! Please don’t report me.”
“You were just trying to save someone from a bad relationship.” Jace shrugs. “Nothing to report.”
“Better a false alarm this time than an actual abusive one slipping by next time.” Alec smiles. “Though watching DuckTales with Jace snoring should qualify as abuse on its own.”
“Rude.” Jace glares at his brother, mumbling something about bloodthirsty beasts. “Listen, it’s been about ten minutes and I really think I have a shot with Simon. I gotta go.”
“I’ll take the car home, don’t worry.” Alec nods. “You can come by tomorrow to get it.”
“Thanks, bro.” Jace pulls Magnus aside while Alec finishes up with payment at the counter. “We good here?”
“Yeah we’re good.” Magnus gives him a nod of acknowledgement. “Sorry I accused you of cheating. On your brother.”
“It’s cool.” Jace shrugs. “Speaking of brother, you should ask mine out.”
“You think he’d be interested?” Magnus looks back at the man signing some papers at the counter.
“I think he started stammering when he saw you first, he couldn’t be gayer if a very gay spider bit him, and lastly,” Jace spares a glance at his brother, “he’s the best man I’ve ever known. He deserves someone who can look out for him. Like you did today.”
“Besides, there’s nothing wrong with a little fun at least.” Jace shrugs. “I’m pretty sure Alec’s forgotten what that word even means.”
“I’m over at the counter, not in a different room you idiot. I can still hear you.” Alec’s glare is imminent. “And I’m plenty of fun. It’s just yours and mine definition varies. By a lot.”
“Is that so?” Magnus cocks an eyebrow. “I have two tickets to the ice skating rink tomorrow. Maybe you could join me, that is, if it fits your definition of fun?”
“Yeah.” Alec smiles. “I’d like that.”
“Now are you glad I dragged you here?” Jace’s eyebrow wiggle meets Alec’s death stare.
“I still hate you.”

Here you go! I went NSFW
Joseph is not missing his chance. Not again.
If he’s keeping count, which he’s certainly not, he’s missed fifty-two chances between fifth grade and now.
Barclay’s family moved next door in the summer of 1951, causing eleven year old Joseph to learn very quickly what it’s like to have someone whose side you never want to leave. Lucky for him, Barclay felt the same way; they were in the same boyscout troop, were each others first choice for sleep overs or outings where they were allowed to take one friend. When they hit high school, Barclay went out for football because Joseph did (and Joseph did because that’s what upstanding young men do). They played together all four years, Barclays growth spurt rendering him doubly dangerous on defense and the dominant source of Joseph’s late-night fantasies. Joseph did debate club alone, but Barclay joined him for chess club. And when Barclay bought his car, his first stop was to take Joseph cruising, just the two of them.
Unluckily, Joseph’s never worked up the nerve to tell Barclay how he feels. This may be why he hasn’t had a date since the spring hop two years ago, while Barclay’s had quite a few (cheerleaders and band boys alike can’t seem to resist his physique and general gentleness).
That all changes today. Joseph slipped a note into Barclays locker right before lunch that conveyed all relevant information.
Dear you,
Drive in on Friday? We can park in the back row.
Love,
Joseph.
He’s sitting in his normal spot on the bench near the cafeteria, doing his best impersonation of someone who’s heart isn’t in his throat.
As he’s scanning the crowd, none other than Duck Newton begins weaving his way over to him, leather jacket reflecting the sun and his black hair combed back as always. Joseph was wary of him for years--as any good square is of kids from the rough side of town--until they got paired together in biology their senior year. Duck, who seems not to give a shit about school the rest of the time, is incredibly good at science. And he’s funny, nearly got them both kept after class for cracking a joke that made Joseph lose his breath laughing.
The problem is, right now he’s waving a very familiar piece of paper.
“Gotta say, I’m pretty fuckin flattered, Joe. But, uh” he leans on the table, smiling playfully, “I gotta make sure ‘Drid is okay with me playin backseat bingo with someone who ain’t him.”
“Um.” Joseph shakes his head, trying not to focus on the idea of Duck holding his head in his lap in the dark corner of the drive in, “I, I’m so sorry. I must have been nervous enough to put the note in the wrong locker. Not, not that you’re not a catch.”
Duck raises his eyebrow, “1650 or 1652?”
“1652.”
“Huh. Well, I got shop class with Barclay. You want me to just give it to him?”
“No.” Joseph holds out his hand.
Duck places the letter in it with a shrug, “Suit yourself, slick. See you later.”
Joseph rips the letter to shreds, tosses it in the trash, and hopes that’s the end of this humiliating error.
It’s not.
“Hello, Joseph.” Indrid Cold rests a shoulder on the locker next to his. There’s no one in Kepler High quite like him; his family moved from California three years ago, which most people use as the explanation for Indrid’s red glasses, crystal necklace, and pale hair that is always a quarter-inch shy of the principal writing him up for it. He’s never struck Joseph as the kind to fight, but he did mistakenly proposition his boyfriend three hours ago.
“Indrid. How can I help you?”
The taller boy hands him a folded slip of notebook paper, “By taking me up on this invitation.”
Before Joseph can ask any questions, Indrid is disappearing down the hall. The paper contains a hand drawn map to an X, under which is the word “Bash” but nothing else. Joseph has never been invited to any kind of party that needed a secret map. He mostly just gets invited to get togethers because he’s the captain of the football team. No one talks to him once he’s there. Well, except Barclay.
He stares at the map; he doesn’t have to be home until ten. He’s never going to get a chance to make the scene like this again.
Joseph shuts his locker and hurries to his car.
------------------------------------------------------
Indrid’s remarkably accurate map leads him to a dirt parking lot beneath the sign for Amnesty Point. As he follows the signs for the “beach house,” a Coaster’s song drifts through the air, underscored by splashes from the lake to his right. He’s deep in the woods on the wrong side of the tracks, but even so he’s unprepared for how everyone lounging around the weathered picnic tables on a shaded patio stops talking and stares at him.
“Who the fuck invited the square?” Someone whispers, making him wish he hadn’t left the map in the car.
“Joseph?”
He turns so fast the gravel flies. Barclay, clad in a grease-stained apron, is smiling so bright it evaporates his nervousness.
“Hi, big guy.”
His friend hoists him in a hug, “I’m so glad you’re here, Indrid said he invited you but I wasn’t sure you’d come.”
“He piqued my curiosity. Um, is this the new job you were so cagey about?”
“Yep. Mama--she runs this place--pays real well, but tries to keep Amnesty Point kinda secret. Cops just love busting places like this up for no reason.”
Joseph nods, still a little hurt Barclay didn’t trust him enough to share where he worked. His friend must notice the dip in his smile before he hides it, because he adds, “It’s gonna be even better working here now that you know where to find me. Listen, um, I gotta get back before Jake sets something on fire, but the burger stand closes at eight. I’ll come find you after that. Duck and Indrid are down by the dock, if you want company.”
He absolutely does, since the alternative is looking even more out of place by being the only person here alone.
When he hits the grey sand, Duck is just pulling himself back onto dry land. The half moon scars on his chest are the only reminders of the trip he took to San Francisco last summer.
“Glad you showed up, slick. Day like this, the water is the only nice place to be.”
“I wish I’d known, I would have brought my swim shorts.” Maybe if he rolls up his pant legs he can get some relief from the heat…
“Could just go in your boxers. I won’t tell.” Duck winks.
“Nothing is also allowed.” Indrid lilts, floating past on his back.
Joseph looks at him, then at the planks of the dock because Indrid is also demonstrating that second option without a care.
Duck snickers, “sugar, put somethin on, you’re scandalizin’ the poor guy.”
“Very well. But I demand help with the sunblock in payment for quashing my self-expression this way.”
“You’re soundin like your pops there, ‘Drid.”
“....ugh, you’re right.” A splash and the soft fwup of a towel, “alright, Joseph, I’m decent.” He is, but his swim shorts leave very little to the imagination. Joseph stares a moment too long, notices Duck smirking when he looks away.
The greaser holds out a bottle of sunblock and they get to work.
“Goddamn, this wouldn’t take so long if you weren’t so fuckin long everywhere.”
“You’ve never complained about that before.” Indrid grins, red sunglasses hiding his eyes. He doesn’t lift a finger to help them, but Duck seems to get a kick from it. Joseph wonders if he spoils Indrid like this in everything they do. If Indrid ever does it back.
(If either of them would do it for him).
They spend the evening talking, Duck skipping stones and Indrid sunning himself while Joseph dangles his legs in the water. When they get back to the beach house Joseph receives fewer stares, Duck and Indrid’s company substituting for cool. He and Duck get a real dinner, but Indrid opts to down three Cokes in place of a meal.
When Barclay closes up shop, he’s immediately at Joseph’s side. Joseph is about to suggest they all go for a walk when Indrid winks at Barclay and steers Duck towards the trees with a promise to see Joseph at school tomorrow.
“You get on okay while I was working?” Barclay starts them on a path towards the edge of the point.
“I did. It was actually really nice just to spend time talking with people who like me. Or at least don’t hate me enough to shove me in the water fully clothed.”
“Nah, they’re not those kind of guys. Hell, it was their idea to invite you here. I was, uh, I was too shy.”
He stops, turning to face Barclay, “what do mean?”
“Duck told me about the note.”
“Oh lord.”
“Not on purpose, he just mentioned he’d seen you and when I asked how you were doing, well, you know he can’t lie for shit. So Indrid suggested we invite you out here.”
“Out of pity?”
“No.” Barclay frowns, sets his hands on Joseph’s shoulders, “Joseph, why didn’t you just ask me out in person?”
“I was too nervous. I thought it might ruin everything.”
“Not a chance, blue eyes.” Barclay rumbles. Then he’s kissing him, gentle and slow, whimpering when Joseph kisses back and cups his face. When they part, he’s certain there’s nothing but air under his feet.
“Can we do that again?”
“Not tonight. Your curfew is still ten.”
“Shit, you’re right, if I don’t get on the road I’ll be late.”
“Lemme walk you to your car. I gotta hang around since I’m Indrid and Duck’s ride home tonight.”
“Do you want to go get them so we can all leave together?”
Barclay chuckles, tips his head towards the woods where a faint, rhythmic grunting cane be heard.
“Oh.”
“Yeah, not gonna ruin their fun.” He pulls Joseph into a much more heated kiss, then sighs, “get home safe, blue eyes.”
---------------------------------------------------------
Joseph suffered through both the personal hygiene class at school and his father’s lecture on what to expect now that he was truly a man. But nothing in either of those taught him what to do if he’s so hot under the collar he can’t focus but the guy who’s causing it won’t just fuck him.
He and Barclay have gone out every Friday for the last month, steaming up the car windows with their kissing sessions. They tried to work out who was supposed to give who their varsity jacket and settled on just trading, Joseph smiling whenever he spots Barclays name on his back. And Barclay tells everyone Joseph is his boyfriend with a level of pride he never gave their state football wins.
But he won’t go all the way with him. One Sunday afternoon they were listening to records in Barclays room when the larger boy rolled across the rug to straddle Joseph. His hands were hot and a little rough on his cock, Joseph moaning into his mouth as he came in under a minute. Before he could reciprocate, the front door banged open, announcing the return of Barclay’s parents. His boyfriend told him not to worry about it and kissed him on the cheek.
He’s worried Barclay loves him but doesn’t want him. He’s worried that if he ever does, Joseph will embarrass himself, be so inexperienced and inelegant he’ll turn him off forever. He wonders if he can entice Barclay to ask him to fuck so he doesn’t have to admit the embarssing intensity of his desire.
“Duck? Do you, um, do you think I’d look better if I dressed like you?”
The greaser looks up from his notes, “Maybe? I mean, I dress like this because I dig it. You wanna try it, go wild.”
Joseph nods, intending to drop it. Instead, he slows his stride by Duck during their laps in gym.
“It’s just, I’m worried I’m too square for anyone to be really into me.”
“Joe, what the fuck is this about?”
“Newton, I heard that! That’s an extra lap.”
“Son of uh, hold on, are you worried about Barclay? Because he’s so into your goody-goody thing I’m surprised he ain’t asked you to fuck him with your report card.”
“Stern, you’re done, get off the track!”
He jogs to the bleachers, Duck’s words rattling around long after he’s hit the locker room.
“You’re really worried about this, ain’t you? You’re smart, slick, but I swear sometimes you can’t see what’s right in front of you.” Duck is behind him, still in his gym clothes while Joseph is half changed out of them. They’re both dawdling, the locker room empty save for some other stragglers near the bathroom.
“Duck, if I were in high demand, I’d be getting more, um, attention than I-”
His sentence is cut short by Duck yanking him down into a kiss, lips salty with sweat and so demanding Joseph wants to get on his knees.
Duck pulls back, pats his cheek, “Like I said; right in front of you.”
With that he waves and leaves the room the back way. Joseph can’t even be mad for cutting school; right now, he’s almost ready to follow him.
-------------------------------------------------
“I really must thank you again.” Indrid clears the low table of his math notes, “my focus is such that I struggle with math much more than I’d like. Having someone sit and walk me through it in a calm setting helps a great deal.”
“I’m always happy. Barclay can too, if you ever can’t get a hold of me.”
“Oh, I know he can. He helped me last year.” Indrid stretches his legs; they’re on the floor of his VW Westfalia. His parents let him live in it on the property behind their one-story house as long as he continues to be a cooperative member of the household.
“I didn’t know that.”
“It was only a few times, though he often lingered when we were through.” Indrid’s emphasis makes Joseph blush.
“Duck and I weren’t going steady yet. And my cocksucking skills are not the stuff of legend for nothing.” Indrid smiles, dreamily.
“Oh. Um.” Joseph shifts his notebook into his lap.
Indrid sits up straighter, “I apologize. I, ah, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
“I’m not sure that’s what this is.”
Indrid cocks his head, “No? Envy perhaps? After all, you’ve had years to dream about him, to hope you’d be the first, and here comes a skinny little freak from the coast to beat you to it.”
“You’re not a freak” Joseph says softly, “I, I can’t say I blame Barclay for taking you up on it.”
“He does have excellent taste” Indrid looks pointedly over his glasses at him. The heat under his skin doubles as Indrid crawls forward, “you know, Duck and I have an...understanding. But if you and Barclay do not, I can stop. I mean, I can stop regardless, if you don’t want this.” He lowers to his belly between Joseph’s legs, nuzzles his fly with a hum.
“I, I--ohlord” He moans when Indrid mouths at his slacks; he’s getting hard, if he had his way he’d lay down and let Indrid suck him off until he came on his glasses. But he knows he won’t enjoy it if he isn’t sure how Barclay feels.
“I, we should stop. Please.”
Indrid sits up, smiling, “Of course. Would you like to stay for dinner? My mother is making fish stew instead of tofu salad for once.”
“...I’d love to.”
---------------------------------------------
“I didn’t know Amnesty owned all this.” Joseph let’s Barclay guide him through the trees.
“Yeah, Mama’s family bought it years ago and she’s hung onto it through some seriously nasty shit. Hah, there they are.” Barclay waves to Duck and Indrid, resting against each other on a massive, checkered blanket. His boyfriend sets the picnic basket down and then, confusingly, turns off the lantern Duck brought.
“Okay, baby, there’s something I’ve got to ask” Barclay looks at him, “do you think I don’t wanna make it with you?”
“Truthfully? Yes. You, you’ve barely gone beyond some heavy petting, meanwhile Indrid was offering to blow me.” He slaps a hand over his mouth; there go all three of these relationships.
Barclay shrugs, “He told me about that.”
“Honesty is important. Most of the time.” Indrid grins.
“Blue eyes, I’m crazy about you. I’ve just been going slow because I was afraid I’d stress you out. I know how you get, Joseph. You put so much pressure on yourself to do everything right, I was worried you’d try so hard to be perfect for me that you wouldn’t enjoy it at all.”
Joseph stares into deep brown eyes, eyes he’s loved since he was a boy. Then he laughs softly, rests his head on Barclay’s shoulder, “You really do know me well, you know that.”
“Oh, oh baby” Barclay holds him closer, “you really think there was a way of touching me that’d disappoint me? Fuck, just getting to kiss you makes me the happiest guy in the state.”
“That being said” Duck drawls, “aint there somethin about practice makin perfect?”
“I, are, is this really what you three want?”
“Yes” Indrid nods, “but if you don’t, well, we shall never speak of it again.”
“I do. Sweet fucking christ I do.” He kisses Barclay ferociously as the other two scoot closer.
“Hmm, I believe we should let seniority decide. Barclay, what’s your preference?”
His boyfriend pulls back, kissing his jaw, “Do you wanna blow me, blue eyes?”
“So badly.”
“That settles that. Duck, what about--ah, I see you’re already taking off your pants, so I guess you’re fucking hm. He’s fucking you? Ah, semantics.” Indrid waves his hand dismissively.
“Wait, does, do we have a rubber?”
Duck pulls one from his wallet, “never leave to see this one without one. I know how he is.”
Indrid pecks his cheek, then grins, “I believe, Joseph, that leaves me to help you with your hand jobs.”
“Fuck, yes.”
“On your back, baby.” Barclays nudges him and he falls onto the blanket. For a moment only the trees and stars look down on him; then Barclays face fills his vision as his hands open his fly and guide his cock out.
“AHshit, shit that’s good.” He bucks as his boyfriend jerks him off steadily, his cock standing at attention in a matter of seconds.
“Okay big fella, you go get your dick sucked.” Duck straddles him. He’s down to only his undershirt, his muscular thighs, soft belly, and strong arms on full displays as he rolls the condom down.
“You’re so handsome” Joseph sighs.
Duck seems to blush, “Thanks, slick. Not bad yourself.”
“I mean it, really, you’re incredible” he paws his legs, grabs his shirt and pulls him down into the kiss. Duck giggles into his mouth, then sinks down onto his cock. Joseph decides he is never, never letting go of the man above him; his weight is so comforting, his body so perfect, the way his laughs morph into moans so charming.
“G-great thing about this position” Duck gasps, “is you don’t gotta do much besides let me ride you. That’s why it’s ‘Drid’s favorite.”
“Second favorite; you on my face is my first. Speaking of which” he kneels, gently lifts Joseph’s head into his hands while Barclay sits cross-legged on the other side of his head. His cock is thick and long, so mouthwatering Joseph opens his mouth without being told.
“Fuck, baby, wanted this so long.” Barclay guides his cock between his lips when Indrid turns his head. The skinnier man keeps supporting him as his tongue registers skin, sweat, Barclay and he whines for more.
“Easy, blue eyes, fuck, you’re doing great.”
“I’ll say. Fuck, can’t believe you been keepin this dick all to yourself, Joe.”
“I got my haAAnds on it once.”
“Clearly you should have done it more” Indrid purrs, hips moving slightly, “as soon as someone plays with it, he sucks cock very nicely.”
“No fuckin kiddin. Baby, baby, yeah, suck like that.”
Indrid shifts behind him, “Barclay, hold him a moment, there’s been a change of plans.” A zipper goes as Barclay cradles him. Then Indrid’s fingers are back, turning him to face a second, narrower cock.
“Handjobs can wait.” Indrid pulls him forward, moaning high when he sucks the head, “oooh, yes, that’s it.”
“Fuck, I’m gonna fuckin combust watchin you do that.” Duck bounces more deliberately and Joseph yelps joyfully around Indrid’s cock. He’s already close to cumming, the feeling of Duck around him and Indrid inside him flooding the rest of him with pleasure.
Indrid pulls his head back, starts to turn him towards Barclays, when it punches through him. He moans, pushes up into Duck as the shorter man laughs.
“I, I came first, I’m sorry, this is one of the things-”
“Shush” Barclay helps him up as Duck climbs of him, “that was fucking incredible, and you’re not done yet.”
“On your knees, facing us. Unless, sweetheart, do you-”
Duck’s hand is already between his legs, “I’m gonna enjoy the show.”
“Mmm, which means I get to enjoy you enjoying it. Barclay, turn slightly, like this.”
“Why, oh, oh I got it, fuck, you’re a fucking genius.”
Joseph agrees, though he’s going a bit cross-eyed. So he closes them, lets first Indrid and then Barclay press their cock into his mouth. It’s a stretch, his jaw aching instantly, but it’s the best he’s ever felt. They can’t push more than the heads in, so he concentrates on sucking and licking, pre-cum collecting on his tongue and spit seeping down his chin. Duck grunts behind him, offering running commentary on Indrid’s appearance and Joseph's voice. Barclay shoves both hands into his hair while Indrid keeps one on his cock.
“Fuck, fuck, Joseph, baby, this is fucking aces, gonna paint your whole fucking stomach white.”
“Ahnnn, agreed” Indrid pants, “your mouth was made for this, ohyes, that’s it, mmm, this is even better, feeling your cock against mine dearest, oh, oh” Indrid cums, bitterness hitting his tongue, and when he tries to swallow he gasps and gags instead.
“Fuck” Barclay grunts and then another burst of cum fills his mouth. He gasps for air as they pull out, sending some down his chin. He wipes ineffectively at it with the back of his hand.
“Here” Duck, underwear back on, cleans his lips with a napkin.
“Th-thank you.”
“Of course.” Duck kisses him as Indrid flops on his belly and Barclay curls his arms around Joseph.
“Gotta say, blue eyes, don’t think you got anything to worry about when it comes to making it good for me. Or, uh, us.”
“No, I don’t think I do.” Joseph rests against him, then jolts up, “shit, what time is it?”
“Ten.”
“Shit!”
“Don’t worry” Indrid nestles next to his knees, “we’ll say I had car trouble and you two came to my aid.”
Joseph relaxes back among his boyfriends, “Good call. Just, um, don’t let Duck talk?”
“Only if I get an extra kiss for keepin my mouth shut.”
“Deal.”

It’ll be considered part eleven. That being said, I hope you all enjoy this part, I put so much thought into how I wanted it to end, it may cause some tears just an fyi. Also, this is the longest fic I’ve ever written, it’s 7.9k words. Okok I’m gonna stop rambling now, love you all, enjoy. xx

You sat on the edge of your bed, blankets hanging off the mattress, tears rimming your eyes as you stared blankly at the floor. The only thing making a sound was your heart thumping wildly in your ears. Your hands were as cold as ice, but you barely even noticed, your whole body being completely numb, even though your mind knew you were shaking.
The sound of a door opening and slamming shut filled your ears, footsteps making their way down towards your room, before your bedroom door swung open. Madison’s concerned expression contorted into one of worry, her eyes raking in your shutdown appearance.
“Y/N.. What’s going on? I got here as quick as I could.” Madison spoke quietly, making her way over towards you, as she knelt down in front of you. “I can’t help you if you won’t tell me what’s wrong.” She stated, raising a brow as you blinked a few times, your blurry eyes flickering to hers.
“It’s my father..” You whispered, a tear slipping down your cheek as your eyebrows scrunched together, “H-He’s in the hospital..” You paused, your throat aching as you tried to hold back your sobs, “He had a h-heart attack Mads, t-they don’t know i-if he’ll make it.” You choked out, unable to hold back any longer, a waterfall of tears streaming down your cheeks.
Madison’s eyes widened, her face falling at the news about your father, her heart aching for you. She knew how much he meant to you, he was, is, your only parental figure you had left.
“I should have known something was wrong Mads, I should’ve known.” You cried into her shoulder, her arms wrapped around your crumbling figure. “Don’t do that Y/N, you can’t blame yourself for not knowing.” Madison tried to reason with you, she wouldn’t let you blame yourself for something you had no control of, let alone knowledge of.
“I should’ve called him the second the payment for school stopped, it was a sign, and I ignored it.” You sobbed, your eyes now red and puffy as you looked at her. “Y/N, take a deep breath, please.” Madison whispered, a sorrow expression on her face as you inhaled and exhaled a breath, your body growing tired.
“Why don’t I take you to the hospital so you can see him.” Madison offered as you nodded your head slowly in response. You stood up, grabbing a hoodie off your bed, which was actually Tom’s hoodie, but in the current moment you didn’t even realize, too focused on putting on your boots that kept your feet warm. You both exited your room, Madison pulling out her car keys, the sound capturing Jacob’s attention, causing him to look up.
“Madison?” He questioned, grabbing her attention as she turned her head to look at him. “What’re you doing here?” He questioned, confusion written all over his face. “Y/N called me.” She stated vaguely, glancing over at you as you made your way in front of her, your eyes flickering over towards Jacob.
“Oh my god, Y/N, are you okay? What’s wrong?” Jacob immediately questioned the second he saw you walk into his line of sight. You let out a sniffle, a tear trickling down your now splotchy cheeks. “My father is in the hospital, he had a heart attack.” You spoke quietly, your voice monotone, scaring Jacob slightly at how emotionless you sounded.
He didn’t know what to say, he knew you were falling apart on the inside, he knew how important your father was to you. His heart broke for you, remembering the day where you opened up with him and told him about your mother passing away. Now here he was, witnessing you go through it all over again, but this time it was so much worse.
“I’m taking Y/N to the hospital, you’re welcome to join us there.” Madison offered as Jacob nodded silently, before Madison motioned for you to go ahead of her, exiting the apartment.
Jacob chewed on his lower lip anxiously, pacing around the kitchen as he tossed his phone back and forth between his hands, debating on whether or not to call Tom. He knew things were complicated between the two of you at the moment, but this was serious.
He let out a breath, pulling up Tom’s contact name, about to press the call button when he heard keys jingling and the main door opening once more. Tom and Harrison’s voices filling his ears. Now not only did he have to tell Tom, but he had to tell Harrison too.
“Jacob! Mate! Are you home?” Tom called out, removing his coat as Harrison kicked his shoes off, trailing behind Tom. “Kitchen!” Jacob called back, swallowing nervously as he ran his hand across his forehead, going to the fridge to retrieve a bottle of water.
“Hey man.” Tom greeted, entering the kitchen, Harrison walking beside him as Jacob smiled. “Hey guys,” He nodded his head towards the both of them, taking a swig of the cool liquid, “How’re you doing Haz?” Jacob asked, wanting to try to get his mind off of you and everything going on.
“Honestly, I’m already doing much better.” Harrison admitted, a faint smile on his lips as Tom patted his back. “As much as I hate going there, it really does help me, I can just vent their and it makes me feel so much better.” Harrison smiled softly, fiddling with his fingers.
“I also got medication prescribed to me today, my therapist says that’ll help keep me stable, and my psychiatrist agreed with her.” Harrison added on, his eyes a bit brighter as both Tom and Jacob smiled.
“That’s great man.” Jacob smiled, as Tom grinned at his friend. “I’m so proud of you mate, you’ve come such a long way.” Tom congratulated him, giving him a hug as Harrison chuckled at the gesture.
“Thanks guys.. I really do owe it all to you.. And Y/N.” Harrison smiled, his voice a bit quieter when he said your name. He knew bringing you up was a risky move, but it was true, he really did owe you one.
“Speaking of Y/N, where is she?” Tom spoke up, his brows furrowing as he crossed his arms, glancing down the hall to see your door open. It struck him as unusual, it was a Saturday night, you had told him earlier that you had homework that you needed to get done. Plus, you had also agreed to wanting to have a movie night with him, but now, you were nowhere to be seen.
“Jacob?” Tom pressed, turning his gaze to his other roommate, his eyes narrowing slightly as Jacob let out a defeated sigh. “Alright, if I tell you guys, promise me you’ll handle it professionally.” Jacob started, giving both of them a serious expression as they both nodded in response, their attention solely focused on Jacob.
“Y/N’s father had a heart attack, she’s at the hospital right now with Mackenzie.” Jacob spoke cautiously, noticing their expressions fall immediately. “Is she okay?” Harrison breathed out, a worried expression on his face as Tom stood in silence.
“I’m not going to lie to you guys, she’s broken, I’m not sure if she’s going to be able to overcome this, especially if he doesn’t make it.” Jacob admitted, another sigh escaping his lips as he rubbed his chin.
“Then we need to be there for her, now more than ever.” Tom insisted, pulling his keys back out and heading right for the door, grabbing his coat along the way. Harrison gave Jacob a questioning glance, but let it go, quickly going to put his shoes on as Jacob shut the door behind him.
They weren’t going to let you go through this alone.
- ❁ -
You had gotten to the hospital ten minutes ago, and now you were stuck in the waiting room. You couldn’t sit still, your foot tapping against the white tiled floor, your eyes constantly flickering to every spot in the room while you anxiously chewed on your thumb nail.
Madison glanced over at you, her eyes full of worry, she had never seen you like this before. The only time in her entire life that she had ever seen you upset was during school when you had slept through your alarm and missed class, and then.. With Tom.
She cleared her throat, capturing your attention as you looked over at her, a brow raised. “I know this is the absolute worst time to bring this up, but I just really need to get his off my chest.” She paused, taking a breath as her nerves increased, causing your heart to sink even further down into your stomach. “About Tom?” You spoke quietly, your voice hoarse from crying so much.
You knew you were going to have to have this conversation eventually.
“Yeah.. About Tom.” She nodded, her voice quiet like yours as she focused on her hands. “What I did Y/N.. I know it’s fucked up, it’s haunted me since the day it happened.” She sniffled, the guilt overwhelming her as your face softened.
“I don’t know what came over me that night, I had gone out to a party with Abby and Scarlet, we were having fun, drinking and dancing, and then next thing I know I’m with Tom in the apartment, and then after that it’s all a blur.” Madison explained, the memories flooding her head, tears trickling down her cheeks.
“When I woke up the next morning I was so confused, until I saw him laying next to me, I felt horrible Y/N, I still do.” She choked out, wiping away the tears on her face.
“I betrayed you, I went behind your back and hooked up with your roommate when you told me not to.” She ranted, her breathing becoming heavier the more she spoke. You placed your hand on her arm, causing her to look up at you.
You gave her a weak smile, “I know,” You whispered, watching another tear slip down her cheek. “You should hate me.” She whispered, tears rimming her eyes once more as you frowned at her words. “I could never hate you,” You shook your head, holding her hand tightly, “Youre my best friend.” You sighed, as she let out a broken laugh.
“Yeah.. A best friend that hurt you.” She sniffled, guilt still eating away at her. “Yeah, you did, but I know you regret doing it, and that’s what matters.” You explained, as she gave you a questionable look.
“I forgive you Mads.” You mumbled, a faint smile on your lips as she gave you one back, before she engulfed you in a tight hug. “I love you so much Y/N, I don’t think I could ever go through not speaking to you ever again.” Madison spoke into your shoulder, giving you one more squeeze before letting go.
“I agree, there’s so much that has happened that I need to catch you up on.” You confessed, twiddling your fingers nervously. “Spill.” Madison stated, sitting up straighter in her chair, facing you directly as a sigh escaped your lips. “I’ll start from where I left off with you last.”
For the next hour or so you told Madison everything, you told her about your dates with Harrison, and how much of a gentleman he was and how he always made you feel so special.
However, you then did a complete one eighty and told her about how Tom had to save you from Harrison, and how he had gotten violent. You then went on to tell her about your feelings towards Tom, and how you ended up sleeping with him, but what really got her was when you told her that Tom confessed his feelings to you.
“I am feeling so many emotions right now, I’m unable to process this Y/N.” Madison spoke, her eyes closed as she rose her hands up in front of her face, her face scrunching up slightly. “I’m just going to unleash everything.” She nodded her head, more so talking to herself than you, before she reopened her eyes, seeing an amused smile on your face.
She took a deep breath, before her eyes widened, “I can’t believe you and Tom fucked!” She exclaimed, whacking your arm as you pouted at her in response, whilst shushing her. “Like I knew you guys would eventually because the sexual tension you both had for one another was intense, and it still is.” Madison winked, causing your face to heat up.
“How was he? Everything you dreamed of?” Madison grinned, wiggling her eyebrows at you as your eyes widened, your mouth becoming dry. “I-I mean..” You stammered, your face bright like a red tomato. “Oh shit, he really did a number on you, he’s got you speechless.” Madison smirked, a brow raising on her forehead as you choked on air.
“It was just that good.” You confessed, your words coming out a bit mumbled, you were already embarrassed beyond belief, so you decided you might as well be honest. “It’s like he knew my body more than I knew it myself, he knew exactly what to do to make me putty in his hands.” You licked your lip, heat radiating off your face the more you spoke.
“He has some magical hands, and his mouth..” You shut your eyes, reminiscing in that moment, before Madison hit your shoulder, causing you to whine and rub it. “I regret ever bringing up your sex life.” She groaned, a teasing smile on her face, before it turned serious.
You knew immediately by the look on her face that she was pissed, which could only mean one thing for the next topic of discussion.
“The next time I see that British blonde haired boy I’m going to kill him.” She seethed, her eyes narrowed as she clenched her jaw. “What he did to you deserves my foot up his ass and my hands around his throat.” She snarled, her eyes becoming a darker shade as you sat quietly, letting her vent out all her rage towards Harrison.
You began to zone out her ranting, a bad habit that you’d grown accustomed to from your late night classes when your professor wouldn’t stop talking. Your eyes focused once more around the waiting room, until your eyes flickered over towards the main entrance of the room, the light brown wooden door opening.
The second you saw the familiar brown curls you felt your heart skip a beat, your eyes softening as they locked with your favorite chocolate brown ones. However, your expression faltered slightly when you saw who followed behind him.
Harrison.
Realization dawned on you immediately, your head snapping over to Madison who was already sending daggers towards Harrison. Her jaw was clenched, hands balled up into fists as Tom glanced between you and Madison, before looking at Harrison, his eyes widening when he made the connection.
Tom motioned for Jacob to move in front of Harrison, Madison instantly standing up, storming over to the three of them. “You’re so dead Osterfield.” She growled, trying to shove past Tom as she attempted to swing at Harrison’s face.
“Tom! Let me go! Right now!” Madison shouted, squirming in his grasp as she continued to fight against him. “Look, I know you’re mad-” Tom started to explain, but got caught off by Madison elbowing him in the stomach, causing him to groan.
“I’m not mad, I’m pissed as hell!” She seethed, attempting to swing at Harrison once again, only to let out a loud frustrated scream, her viewpoint now on Jacob’s and Harrison’s shoes.
You smiled in amusement as you saw Tom holding Madison over his shoulder, her body flailing in an attempt to get out of his arms. Tom glanced over towards you, a smile forming on his lips when he saw you were already staring at him.
He was so whipped for you.
Tom quickly refocused though, due to Madison squirming around more frantically, his grip tightening around her waist. You continued to watch the incident going on in front of you, the sight of Madison fighting against Tom making you forget why you were at the hospital in the first place.
Jacob on the other hand continued to stand in front of Harrison, a concerned expression on his face as he watched Madison carefully.
Harrison however knew why she was acting the way she was towards him. He didn’t blame her for being angry, for wanting to get some kind of justice for you. What he had done to you was unforgivable, he knew that, and he hated himself for even laying a hand on someone as sweet and innocent as you.
Harrison couldn’t help but glance over towards you, a painful expression washing over his face. You deserved so much joy and happiness in your life, not all this darkness and pain.
His eyes flickered back over towards Tom, his brow raising as he noticed Madison had finally calmed down.
“You good now?” Tom questioned as Madison mumbled something in response, as Tom set her back on her feet. She gave Harrison another glare, causing him to swallow nervously before she turned on her heel to go back to you.
You have her a small smile as she sat down next to you, silence falling over the room once more as Tom, Harrison, and Jacob sat down as well. The tension between everyone was thick, nobody daring to break the thin ice.
The silence was soon disrupted by the sound of a knob turning, this time the other door in the room opening, the doctor, James, stepping into the room.
“Y/N, may I speak with you for a moment?” James questioned, his eyes glancing around the room for a split second as you nodded in response, standing up from your seat and heading out to the hallway with him.
“How is he? Is he going to be alright?” You bombarded him with questions before he could even shut the door. Your eyes were full of worry with a mixture of hope, your hands clammy as you anxiously rubbed them together.
Dr. James stayed silent for a moment, his eyes softening as he let out a breath, his expression falling. “Y/N, there’s never an easy way to say this, but, your father.. We did everything we could.. But there’s nothing more we can do.” He explained carefully, his heart breaking at your broken expression.
“N-No.. You’re lying! Y-You’re supposed to help him!” You cried out, tears streaming down your flushed cheeks as you shook your head in denial. “What kind of doctors are you!” You scream cried at him, your voice loud enough that everyone could hear you in the waiting room.
“Y/N.. There’s only so much we can do in these situations.” Dr. James tried to explain, a worried expression on his face as you were having a complete meltdown right in front of him.
“I’m so sorry.” He whispered, hesitantly placing his hand on your shoulder as you sobbed, your hands covering your mouth as he walked you back into the waiting room. Everyone's heads snapped over towards you immediately, their eyes widening at your shattered figure.
“Oh Y/N.” Madison mumbled, tears rimming her eyes as Tom instantly stood up, engulfing your fragile body in his arms. His hands stroked your hair and back soothingly as he pressed a kiss to your head.
Harrison however couldn’t take his eyes off the way Tom was comforting you. His brows furrowed slightly, a pang of jealousy and hurt stinging his heart.
He turned to look at Jacob who gave him a sad smile, as if answering the question he was already thinking. He gave a slight nod in response, before refocusing on you.
He needed to know, he needed to hear it from you.
Hesitantly Harrison rose up from his chair, slowly making his way over towards you and Tom. He placed one of his hands on Tom’s shoulder, grabbing his attention.
“Do you mind if I uh.. Talk to Y/N for a moment?” Harrison questioned, his voice quiet as Tom chewed on his bottom lip for brief moment. “It’s alright Tom.” You mumbled into his chest, pulling away gently as you wiped your cheeks.
“Are you sure?” Tom questioned, his words coming out more as a mumble as he cupped your face in his hands. You gave a slight nod, placing your hand on his, before motioning Harrison towards the door to talk in the hallway.
You made your way over towards the door, Harrison following behind you, closing the door once you two were alone in the hallway.
You both stood in front of one another, an awkward silence between the two of you until Harrison cleared his throat, causing you to look up at him.
“I’m really sorry about your father Y/N..” Harrison whispered, breaking the silence as you nodded your head, not daring to speak because you knew if you did you’d start crying.
He sucked on his bottom lip, shifting a bit as he let out a sigh, fiddling with his fingers as he looked down at his shoes.
“There’s no easy way to say this, and I know this couldn’t be worse timing, but, Harrison pauses, licking his lips nervously as he glanced back up at you, locking eyes with you, “Is there something going on between you and Tom?” He questioned, his heart beating a bit faster as he watched your eyes widen slightly, taken back by his question.
That right there gave him his answer.
He felt his heart plummet to the bottom of his stomach, a pained expression on his face as he sucked in a breath.
“I-I’m so sorry Haz.” You whispered, tears rimming your eyes once more as you hesitantly grabbed his hand. “It’s okay.” He tried to reassure you, giving you a forced smile. “He’s better for you anyways.” Harrison spoke quietly, a slight frown on his lips as he played with your fingers.
You shook your head, not believing his words, “No. No, it’s not okay Haz, I-I cheated on you with Tom, and that’s not okay.” You sniffled, wiping a tear off your cheek as Harrison sniffled also.
“Yeah.. Well.. Cheating is nothing compared to what I did to you.” Harrison frowned as you squeezed his hand gently. “Neither of those things are okay.” You stated quietly, frowning at him.
“But, you’re getting the help you need, and I’m telling you the truth about what happened between Tom and I.” You spoke calmly, looking at him sadly as he nodded his head slowly.
“I guess we’re both even in doing fucked up things huh?” Harrison questioned as you took a deep breath. “I guess you could say that, I think yours is a bit more extreme though.” You admitted as Harrison nodded in agreement.
“Yeah.. What I did to you is beyond words,” He paused, looking down at your hands, “I really am sorry Y/N.” He sniffled, a tear slipping down his cheek. “I know you are Haz, I know.” You whispered, wiping the tear off his cheek with your thumb.
You knew that the Harrison that hurt you wasn’t him, that that was a broken boy that was lashing out in the only way he knew how. The real Harrison was the boy you met in the line to get a cup of coffee, the boy that bought you breakfast so you wouldn’t be late to class.
That was the Harrison you knew and loved.
You gave him a faint smile, as he gave you a sad one in return.
“I think we both know what’s the best choice for us.” Harrison whispered sadly, his heart aching knowing he had to let you go. “I know..” You spoke quietly, a frown on your lips as you wrapped your arms around his waist, a tear slipping down your cheek.
You hated that you had to break up with Harrison, but you both knew it was for the best. “Thank you for believing in me.” Harrison whispered into your hair, a tear trickling down his cheek as he pressed a soft kiss to your hair, causing you to let a few more tears fall. “I’ll always believe in you Haz, always.” You sniffled, before pulling back, giving him another sad smile.
Harrison cleared his throat, wiping away the few tears off his cheeks with his sleeves. You inhaled a deep breath, a wave of tiredness overwhelming you, causing you to lose balance for a split second.
Harrison quickly caught you, his hands on your waist, a concerned expression washing over his features. “Y/N are you alright? Do you need to sit down?” He questioned, his eyes scanning over your face, taking in how pale you got all of a sudden.
“I don’t feel good.” You admitted, your brows furrowing as you held your head. Harrison saw a nurse walking down another hallway, causing his brows to lift up. “Excuse me! Miss!” He called, waving at her as she began walking towards the two of you.
“Yes? What can I help you two with?” She questioned, looking at Harrison before her eyes fell upon you.
“Oh. Sweetheart.” She gasped softly, seeing how pale you looked. “How about we go get you checked out, make sure everything is okay? Is that alright with you?” The nurse asked you, her voice calm, comforting as you nodded your head in response.
“I’ll bring her back once we know she’s alright.” The nurse told Harrison, a soft smile on her lips as she wrapped an arm around your shoulder, helping you down to another room. Harrison watched you disappear around the corner, his bottom lip between his teeth, a nervous feeling washing over him.
He let out a breath, jumping up and down a few times, shaking his arms before straightening his posture and heading back into the waiting room. All eyes immediately landed on him, confused expressions on all their faces.
“Where’s Y/N?” Tom questioned, his heart starting to race as Harrison cleared his throat. “Y/N wasn’t feeling well so a nurse took her to check to make sure she’s alright.” Harrison explained, walking back over to his chair.
“How long will that be?” Madison added on, brows raised as Harrison shrugged his shoulders. “No clue.” He replied, before pulling his phone out, leaving Tom and Madison frustrated.
You on the other hand had just gotten your blood drawn for a few tests. You sat on the examination table, your legs swinging back and forth as you waited for the doctor to come back.
The room was quiet, the only noise filling your ears was the sound of the paper crinkling beneath you whenever you moved. You weren’t sure how long you had been waiting already, it felt like eternity, and you knew you didn’t have time to just sit around and do nothing.
You were about to jump down from the table when the sound of the door opening caught your attention. Your head snapped over to see the doctor walking in, a clipboard in his hand.
“Ah, hello Y/N, my name is Steve,” He began, introducing himself as he took a few steps in the room, but you were quick to cut him off, “Am I going to be alright?” You blurted out, unable to stop yourself, your cheeks heating up as he let out a chuckle.
He set the clipboard down on the counter, a warm smile on his face. “Yes. You’re going to be alright.” He confirmed, making you let out a breath of relief. “The tests showed that you were very dehydrated, which could have caused you to stumble a bit, and you were on the verge of becoming malnourished, which is why you were starting to feel sick.” Dr. Steve explained, lifting up one of the papers on the clipboard as he spoke.
“Overall, the good news is you and your baby are still healthy and in good shape, you just need to make sure your keeping enough food and liquids in your body alright?” He spoke sternly, wanting to get his point across.
You however zoned out everything he said after he mentioned the word baby.
“Y/N? Did you hear me?” Dr. Steve questioned, his brows raised as your eyes widened, your heart beating rapidly in your chest. “D-Did you say baby?” You questioned, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Yes. I did.” He nodded his head, his brows furrowing as he studied your face. “I’m gathering you didn’t know due to your reaction.” He spoke softly, a smile on his lips as you blinked a few times.
“I-I’m pregnant.” You whispered a faint smile on your lips as tears rimmed your eyes for what felt like the millionth time today. “Congratulations Y/N.” Dr. Steve smiled as you placed your hand on your stomach in disbelief.
“Thank you Dr. Steve, really, thank you.” You smiled, getting down from the table, shaking his hand before you headed back to the waiting room. However, you decided to stop by a vending machine along the way to get some water and some sort of food. You were no longer eating for just yourself, but for the growing baby inside of you.
You eventually made it back to the waiting room, your eyes falling upon everyone’s anxious expressions, before your eyes flickered over towards Dr. James.
“Y/N, can I speak to you for a moment? Privately.” He motioned for you to follow him out the other door in the room. You anxiously left the waiting room once more, standing in a different hallway as you anxiously drank your water, as he let out a sigh.
“Your father is awake right now, but his body is extremely weak, we don’t think he’s going to make it through the night.” Dr. James confessed, a distraught expression washing over his features as you let out a sob.
Dr. James motioned you to follow him, leading you down another hallway until he brought you to what you assumed was your father's room.
“I’ll leave you two alone.” He gave a faint smile, placing his hand on your shoulder before walking down the hallway to another room. You took a deep breath, closing your eyes for a brief moment before entering the room.
The sight of your father being hooked up to all kinds of machines giving you flashbacks of your mother. You let out a sniffle, taking a seat in a chair next to his bed, taking his hand in yours.
His eyes opened slightly, glancing over towards you, a weak smile on his lips. “Hey lovebug.” He spoke, his voice quiet, making your heart ache. “Hey dad, h-how are you feeling?” You mumbled, wanting to be strong for him as you rested your chin on his hand as he let out a sigh.
“I feel.. Tired.” He whispered, his eyes shutting for a split second until you felt him squeeze your hand gently. “You’re really strong, you know that right?” You told him, tears falling down your cheeks, a few dropping onto his arm.
He let out a weak chuckle, “Not as strong as you bug, you’re following your dreams.” He smiled as you let out a choked sob. “How can I continue to live my dreams if you’re not here with me?” You whispered, your throat becoming sore as you were holding back more sobs.
“I’ll always be with you bug, you know that.” He reassured you, squeezing your hand once more. “It’s not fair..” You squeaked out, your vision blurry as you sniffled, “I can’t lose you too.” You cried, as you heard him sniffle as well.
“It’s the way of life Y/N..” He mumbled, turning his head to look at you, a painful expression on his face to see you so broken. “I-I know… It’s just.. It’s not fair.” You shook your head, brows furrowed as you looked up at him.
“I know bug.. I know.” He mumbled, caressing your head as he wiped away your tears with his thumb.
“How about you tell me what I’ve missed, talk to me as if we’re not in the hospital right now.” Your father suggested, hoping that it’d help take your mind off of all the pain. “Okay..” You nodded, inhaling a deep breath as you sat up straighter.
“I moved into an apartment with two guys, they’re really sweet people, I uh.. I actually like one of them if I’m being honest..” You admitted, seeing your father grin at you, making you laugh quietly.
“Is he here with you?” Your father questioned, as you nodded your head. “I already like him, the fact he’s here shows that he cares about you.” Your father smiled, as you rolled your eyes playfully.
“Yeah well.. My ex is also here.. He’s friends with the guy I live with, also the one that I like.” You confessed, a weak smile on your face as your father groaned, letting out a chuckle. “Y/N!” He smiled, rubbing his face as you smiled sheepishly.
“I’m sorry okay! I didn’t know at the time.” You defended yourself, a laugh leaving your lips as your dad shook his head in amusement at you. “Besides boys, I’m almost done with this semester of school, meaning I’ll only have one more year left until I graduate.” You proudly stated, a bright smile on your face as your father clapped.
“That’s my girl.” He grinned happily, ruffling your hair up making you swat his hand away, a pout on your lips. “You sound like you’re doing well sweetheart, I’m so proud of you.” He smiled, squeezing your hand softly as you smiled back at him.
“There is however.. One more thing I wanted to tell you..” You spoke cautiously, watching him raise a brow at you in curiosity. “I actually just found out a few minutes ago, but.. I’m pregnant.” You smiled nervously, watching his eyes widen in surprise.
“Y-You’re pregnant?” He whispered, attempting to sit up a bit more in the bed as you squeezed his hand. “Yeah dad.. I am.” You nodded your head, a soft smile on your lips as he rubbed his face with his other hand. “Well I wasn’t expecting that, that’s for sure.” He chuckled, shaking his head before glancing over at you.
“Are you mad?” You hesitantly asked, fearful of him not accepting the fact that you were going to have a baby at such a young age, you were still a college student after all. Your dad let out a sigh, shutting his eyes for a moment before reopening them and looking at you.
“How could I be mad? You’re bringing a life into this world Y/N. You’re going to be a lovely mother.” Your dad smiled at you, causing all your fears to dwindle away. “Even though I’m still in college?” You tilted your head a bit, as he chewed on his lower lip.
“I think it’s going to be challenging, but I know you’re strong, and you can handle whatever comes your way, even a baby.” He smiled, nodding his head as you leaned up and gave him a hug, a smile on your lips. “I love you so much dad, thank you.” You whispered, before pulling away.
“So who’s the father?” He questioned, raising a brow at you as you gave him another sheepish smile. “Y/N.” Your father spoke once more, narrowing his eyes at you as you fiddled with your fingers. “The father is the guy I like, my roommate.” You confessed nervously, you weren’t sure how Tom was going to take the news, you just hoped he’d feel as happy as your father did when he found out.
“I’m gathering he doesn’t know yet?” Your father spoke aloud, raising a brow at you as you shook your head ‘no.’
“I’m honestly a bit afraid to tell him.” You admitted, your eyes focused now focused on your shoes as your father let out a huff in response. “If he can’t handle the fact you’re having a baby, then he shouldn’t have gotten you pregnant.” Your father stated simply, a smug expression on his face as your eyes widened.
“Dad!” You exclaimed, laughter leaving your lips as he shrugged his shoulders. “I’m just stating the facts, young kids these days think having sex is great and all, but the second they get a girl pregnant they freak out and ditch.” Your father explained, as you listened quietly, he wasn’t wrong, you knew a few girls from school that had gotten pregnant and the guy just up and left them.
“I appreciate you looking out for me dad, but I think I’ve got a keeper.” You smiled shyly, as your father nodded his head. “I’m glad to hear that, because my girl deserves the best and only the best.” He declared, a grin on his face as he sunk back into the bed more.
“Are you okay?” You questioned immediately, reality coming back to you within a second. “I’m okay bug, like I said, I’m just really tired.” He smiled weakly at you, even though you both knew what was really happening.
He was dying.
“You know that you’re going to be okay right?” He reassured you, turning his head to look at you once more. “I don’t know dad-” You began but he rose his hand, silencing you instantly, “Y/N, you’re going to be okay. I know losing your mother at such a young age broke something within you, and now all of this is happening and it feels like you’re reliving that moment.” He gave a sad smile, as you sniffled at the memories.
“You’re a fighter, and I know that when the inevitable happens you’re going to shut down, but I want you to promise me that you won’t this time. Let people in, spend time with your boyfriend, spend your time putting all your love and energy into your baby.” He smiled softly at you, grasping your hand gently in his.
“I love you so much Y/N, and I already love my grandbaby already, so use that love, and create something wonderful, just like your mother used to.” He smiled, a tear slipping down his cheek as you let out a sob, tears falling down your cheeks as you held his hand tightly in yours.
But then it was as if time froze, the sound of a single beep going through the room, the noise you knew all too well.
You lifted your head up, your face scrunched up in pain as you saw the line on the machine flat. You shook your head, denial creeping in as you stared at your father. His eyes were shut, his hand still in yours, but his body no longer moved with life.
“Dad..” You choked out, shaking his hand a bit, trying to get him to open his eyes, but you knew he wouldn’t, and that’s what killed you, you knew he was gone.
Tears were streaming down your cheeks uncontrollably, your heart broken to the point where your body physically felt the aching pain. The doctors came in a few moments after, telling you to say your last goodbyes, which was the hardest thing you’d ever done. You told him you loved him, and promised him you’d do what he said, before exiting the room, watching the doctors remove him from the room.
Your body shook with sobs, you could barely stand you were crying so hard, you just lost the last family you had left. There was one thing that put you a little bit at ease though, when you looked at your father for the last time, you couldn’t help but notice how peaceful he looked, not an ounce of him looked like he was in pain.
A part of you felt like he just needed to get everything off his chest to you, to express how much he loved you and how proud he was of you, that way he could be at peace and move on to reunite with your mother.
At least, that’s what you believed.
You slowly began your way back down towards the waiting room, eventually making it there and opening the door slowly. Everyone stood up instantly when they saw you walk into the room, their arms wrapping around you as you cried your heart out.
Their hearts broke for you, they knew this was an extremely hard situation for you to go through once more, but this time instead of you being alone, you had them to comfort you in the time of need.
You weren’t sure how long you stood there in their arms, but eventually your cries dwindled down, you were fairly certain it was because you ran out of tears, having cried so much in one day.
You felt exhausted, the only thing you wanted to do now was go get some food, and go to sleep, but you knew you couldn’t do that yet, not when you had a secret nobody knew about yet.
Tom couldn’t help but notice the way you zoned out for a few minutes, causing his brows to furrow, he knew you were upset about losing your father, but the look in your eyes told him something else was going on inside your head.
Hesitantly he placed his hand on your shoulder, snapping you out of your daze as he gave you a questioning look, causing you to let out a shaky sigh.
“C-Can I speak with you for a moment? Alone?” You spoke quietly, causing his heart to start to race. What was so important that you had to speak to him alone?
You both walked out to the main hallway, your hands clammy as Tom studied your actions, his own nerves starting to eat away at him.
“Y/N what’s going on? You’re making me nervous.” Tom spoke anxiously, his eyes glued to you as you rolled your shoulders back. “Okay uhm, so, there’s really no easy way of saying this, but, here I go..” You paused, your eyes shut as you took a deep breath, before reopening your eyes, “Tom, I’m pregnant.” You spoke softly, a weak smile on your lips as Tom’s eyes widened.
His eyes wandered from your eyes to your stomach, his mouth dropping open in surprise.
“I-Is it mine?” He stammered, internally cringing at how dumb the question sounded. You gave him an amused smile, nodding your head in response. “Yeah, it’s yours. At least it should be since you’re the only one I’ve had sex with.” You squinted your eyes a bit, earning a slight chuckle from Tom in response, he always did love your witty comebacks.
“So.. I’m going to be a dad?” He spoke up after a few moments of silence, a grin slowly appearing on his face. “Yeah, we’re having a baby Tommy.” You smiled softly at the brunette haired boy standing in front of you, his heart melting at the nickname you used. “We’re having a baby.” He repeated, his voice quiet as his eyes began to tear up.
“I also uhm,” You cleared your throat, running your fingers through your hair as Tom tilted his head at you, “I told my dad about you, and about the baby.” You smiled softly, watching as Tom’s eyes softened at the mention of your father.
“What’d he say when you told him?” Tom questioned, taking a few steps towards you as you smiled at him. “He was so happy Tom, he believes in me so much, in us.” You sniffled, starting to get choked up once again.
Tom wrapped his arms around you, pressing his lips against your forehead. “I know he never got a chance to meet you, but I know from how he was talking that he approved of you. He only wants the best for me, and I know now that that’s you Tom, it took me a while to figure that out, but it’s clear to me now.” You smiled nervously up at him, your hand reaching up to run through his curly brown hair.
“I-I love you Tom, and I hope that you’ll love us too.” You whispered quietly, as a tear slipped down his cheek, a soft heart filled smile appearing on his lips. “I’ve loved you since the moment you moved in.” He whispered back, his hand coming up and resting on your cheek, while his other rested on the middle of your back.
“I’ve never felt this way about anyone before, and I wouldn’t want to feel this way for anyone else but you Y/N. I promise you and your dad that I won’t let you down, I’m going to be the best father and be there for you no matter what.” Tom declared, as you gave him a loving smile.
“You forgot something else.” You teased him, your face glowing as Tom’s brow furrowed. “The best boyfriend.” You stated in a teasing manner, watching his eyes widen even more. “You better not be messing with me Y/N.” Tom warned you, a smile on his lips as you let out a giggle, shaking your head. “I’m serious Thomas.” You grinned at him, watching his eyes brighten.
“Then I’m sure as hell going to be the best boyfriend you’ve ever had.” Tom grinned, pulling you flat against his chest, causing you to squeal and laugh as his lips connected with yours. Your hands sunk into the curls at the back of his neck, while his arms wrapped around your figure, hugging you close to him.
This kiss was different from your last, before the kiss was hungry, full of lust and craving, but this kiss, this kiss was soft, full of love, full of passion.
You both eventually broke away, your foreheads resting against each others, giggles escaping both your mouths.
As hard of a time you were going through, you remembered your father's last words, telling you to be happy, and create something wonderful, and that’s exactly what you were going to do. Now that you had Tom by your side, and your beautiful baby growing inside you, you knew you’d be okay, just like your father said you would.
“Should we go surprise the others with the news?” Tom grinned, his fingers intertwining with yours as you smiled brightly up at him. “I think that’d be a great idea.” You nodded, the smile not once leaving your lips as he opened the door for you, both of you entering with bright smiles on your faces.
“We have some news everyone,” Tom began, grabbing all of their attentions, their brows furrowing in confusion as Tom glanced down at you, “We’re pregnant!” You announced, watching as everyone's mouths dropped open in shock, before they all stood up to congratulate the both of you.
What once was a dull, dark waiting room was suddenly turned into a loving, happy one. Even Harrison was happy for the both of you, wishing you two the best, while Madison and Jacob were already talking about baby names.
Laughter continued to leave your mouths as everyone began making up baby names, the atmosphere in the room becoming breathable again. You couldn’t help but look up at Tom, he had a bright smile on his face, laughter escaping his lips as his eyes shone brightly as his arm continued to stay wrapped around your waist.
It was in this moment being surrounded by your friends and Tom that you felt something other than pain that day, you felt love.
Your father was right after all, you were going to be just fine.

You’re not usually this quiet...
Tumblr media
Summary: Although things have not been working well, you still come and fulfil your promise to go picnic with your best friends; Freddie and his boyfriend Jim, Mary, and the other three boys and their significant others. Well, not really. You ended up just with Freddie, because Jim and Mary got something urgent in their workplace, and Freddie is too angry to listen for any more excuses from the other boys. It doesn’t take long for Freddie to notice something is wrong with his best friend.
Pairing: Freddie x Jim.
Warning: Angst. Fluff. Freddie is with Jim, so he’s your best friend instead of a boyfriend. Apologies for any Freddie’s stan.
Word Count:
Inspired by: Friends Will Be Friends. Spread Your Wings. Keep Passing The Open Windows.
Dedicated to: Those who need the kindest of words, the highest of spirit, and the softest of reassurance. Do not give up. It’s okay to fall, so long you get back up again. You are important.

+—-—+—-—+—-—+—-—+—-—+
You sighed deeply. You try not to, but you can’t hold yourself back. It is simply too heavy, too stressful. You cannot comprehend what happened anymore, things just crumble one by one, falling into you. Every single one hurts. From getting evicted due to the late payment, you’re fired because of some arsehole customers, and because of all that accumulated stress, you take it out on your friends and cause a big fight. So right now you’re at your parents' house, in your childhood bedroom. You’re completely relieved from your parents’ understanding of your situation, but it still felt bad and embarrassing.
You’ve already cried all night, sleep until the afternoon, and hardly eat. Mother can tolerate one day of break down, but after the third day of the same cycle, you couldn’t blame her to get worried. You put an act, to wash down the worries that were fortunately easy to do. Seeing her getting affected by your blue only adds to the bleeding wound, something impossible to bear. But you did it. One accomplishment after a clusterfuck that has happened. One small celebration that quickly makes you feel worse for your dishonesty, to your own mother.
“I’m so fucking pathetic.” It’s a raspy whisper at eleven pm. The room is dark, you left the windows open, letting the remaining spring’s wind in. You didn’t even bother to cover yourself, you think you deserve to get sick at the beginning of summer. Deserve to feel every layer of hurt and pain for making things much worse. You wish to cry, to let the pain out, maybe sobbing uncontrollably like before. But no tears came out. Your eyes’ so dry, every time the wind hits you it became very itchy.
One bright thought fly about in your brain, it was the famous saying in Japanese; “Only idiots catch a cold in summer. I am an idiot enough to deserve it, at least.”
Things get boring fast. You can’t cry, you can’t sleep. You’re hungry, but you don’t want to wake your parents by making noise in the kitchen. You’re too scared to touch your laptop, afraid it will remind you of your friends that you already hurt. Another thought is floating around, it has been since the day you’re home, every time you see an open window. The night sky is just too beautiful sometimes it makes you lazy. You really wish you have the energy to do something and have your mind distracted from the thought. Far too occupied thinking a way through, you almost miss the sound of a phone call. You leave it to ring only to die, and it repeats thrice before the caller are forced to leave you a voicemail.
“Whatever you’re doing, dear y/n, to ignore my call like this, I hope you’re having tons of fun. But don’t forget about our promise tomorrow, please? Picnic by the lake. We’ll see you at the usual rendezvous point. A bottle of wine as an apology is required! Au revoir!”
You feel a tingle of hope after listening to your best friend, Freddie, cheerful voice. He’s clearly drunk, he’s clearly with Jim and Mary from the chatter in the background, and he’s clearly isn’t pleased by something else beforehand to be pissed off by your typical interest lack thereof. And nothing could annoy him more than those three boys; Bri, Rog, and John. But that doesn’t bother you, the fact that you feel like there’s another option to get your mind off of all the terrible things that weigh you down give you the power to get up and message him; “Copy that.” And removing any bullshit excuses or lies that should’ve come after that. As always, he left you on read, and you try your best to assure yourself that he’s not mad at you, it’s just Freddie being Freddie—he even left Jim on read, and you’re absolutely sure more than he does to you.
“I still can’t sleep.” You talk to yourself as you sit at the edge of the bed. Your room is a complete mess, just like your life currently. But the light from the lamp post in the garden falls on your favourite blue top on the floor. At least you can prepare for your clothes tomorrow and iron them, make yourself presentable you thought. Maybe some late night snack too when you have the energy to make some jam on toast?
“You’re already awake, hun?” Your mother greets you as you prepare breakfast for your parents. “How are you today?”
“Much better.” You shrugged. “PBJs, coffee and tea for you and dad.”
“Lovely! Thank you so much, dear! How about you, honey? Have you eaten breakfast yet? You have been skipping a meal here and there, you have to eat.” She asks as she takes a seat, sipping upon the warm tea you made.
“Already ate. I'm going picnic with Freddie and his friends, so I better get going now. See you later, mum.” You kiss her cheek as you pack a bottle of wine. “Oh, and may I have this? I wouldn’t be out for too long, and I can buy your groceries in exchange, just message me the list?”
“Sure, dear! Have fun! I bet Freddie would be impressed with how you dress up!”
You bite back the reply He might not and instead said; “Absolutely, mum! It’s Freddie after all!” You try to lie to yourself that what you’re saying is indeed true, that Freddie will make things better, if not, his friends will, which technically because of Freddie too. You try to distract your mind from the creeping ugly memories that keep saying you shouldn’t have fun. That you should’ve just stayed and suffered for your own doings. To take the full consequence and feel bad about it, and must find the solution and fix it before you’re allowed to enjoy summer. You scroll through your camera roll to see the pictures of Freddie and his friends. Although unfortunately all of them already taken, you still can enjoy looking at the cute faces of Brian, Roger, and John. You don’t really care about a relationship right now—especially not right now when you feel like shit and your existence will absolutely be a burden rather than the opposite of it. Before the bad thoughts could fight back, you receive a call from Freddie.
“I’m five minutes away from the site. How’re you?” You answered.
“Hungover. Badly. And out of ten people picnic today? Only the two of us could make it.”
“Pardon me?”
“You are pardoned. And yes, darling. Only the two of us could make it. You have to forgive me, after the third excuse that came after Mary—and was from Jim too, what a bad luck it was,—I’m really not in the mood to hear anymore without starting a fight and potentially severe my friendships with those bastards. Not with this bloody headache. So I told them to go fuck themselves for cancelling our summer picnic we have planned after six fucking months—.”
“Are you driving?”
“God, thanks for reminding me, I almost hit a passing grandma.” His sarcasm was left unanswered by you. “I'm shitfaced and careful, so I will be arriving a wee later. I stole Roger’s car. But once I’m there, you’re driving, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Good. See you soon, love.”
“See you, Fred—.”
You can feel the anger boiling inside of you when your anxiety trying to make of Freddie’s hanging up as your fault. In your mind you told yourself that Freddie was already angry, besides, he’s driving, and it’s bad to drive and call at the same time, so him hanging up without hearing you saying goodbye is perfectly justified. But your hand shakes still, a small panic starts rising, you quickly close your eyes in response, calming yourself down. You’re glad when reality soon catches up as the bus give out the ding, you’ve arrived at the Seaside Cafe. It doesn’t take long too for Freddie to arrive with Roger’s favourite car, fortunately, unscathed.
“Hop in, dear. These buildings and peoples didn’t help my pounding head.” He jumps on the passenger seat once you open the driver seat door. “Oh, you bring foods and wine? Absolutely fantastic! I know I can count on you, my lovely y/n!”
You smiled and nod as you slowly hit the gas. You’re glad your friends didn’t tell Freddie and his gang about your fight with them, so at least you don’t have to deal with that problem for now. Not until you’re ready to face it again. But that thought is coming back; in between Freddie’s gossips, him offering you one Roger’s leftover Marlboro and light it up for you, or the fact that he drinks the rest of Roger’s wine that was left on the back seat as he comments how disgusting it tasted so glad he didn’t give the rest to you. Only when the silence comes you notice you haven’t been paying any attention to Freddie, too caught up fighting your anxiety back.
You give him a couple second of side glance; he’s busy lighting another smoke that you’re pretty sure are his fourth since he found the pack. He inhaled it deeply before exhaling it depressingly slow outside the window. The mood swiftly turned sour and heavy, and again, your anxiety knows how to spin it and make it as your fault. And you’re starting to believe it. You grip the steer tightly as you try to hold back the shaking. Your heart rate raises, and you start to feel that cold sweat running down your temple and your breaths getting shorter.
“You’re not usually this quiet with me, darling.” He almost makes you jump, although you successfully hold back your body reaction by blinking repetitively. “Whose breaking your heart?”
“Myself.” You answered before you could even think. “Let’s not talk about it when I’m driving, smoking, and cannot breathe.”
He snatches your smoke on your lip and has it off on Roger’s dashboard. That’ll start a huge fight later, you’re calling it.
“I need a bit of wine to calm myself.” You cut him off when he’s reaching for your mum’s bottle of wine. “Later, Fred. I’m driving. We might die, but Roger wouldn’t be happy if I cause any dent on his baby.”
“So we’ll die either way.” He laughs, already tipsy. “Alright, darling. Go drive like a champ.”
The rest of the ride was unexciting but feels much better. Freddie gives you space to breathe and to focus on driving. When the lake is visible, you already feel like your stress is slowly deteriorating. Shame really, only you and Freddie could come. The more the merrier they say. Or at least if that’s the case, you don’t have to promise Freddie and tell him all the batshit crazy things that have been haunting you. You’re not sure you can start without breaking down, and all of the sudden the tears that are non-existent last night will pour down like a waterfall. You’re betting on that. But, that’s your anxiety talking again.
“Move, darling. I’ll park the car, you lay down the cloth for us to sit. Make sure you pour a full glass of wine for me too, hmm?”
You listened to him obediently and taking the picnic basket you’ve prepared all night with you. It cost you a good night sleep that never came. The wind immediately welcomed you outside the car. The sky is decorated with small white clouds, giving the stage all for the sun to warm every inch of your body whilst the some of the spring breezes felt like the nostalgic cooling with past lovers, completes the satisfying feeling that describes how summer should feel. You can’t enjoy it for long as Freddie soon catch up, trying not to fall over walking on the tall grass.
“What’s on the menu today, dear chef?” He says, practically fell on the cloth right after you tidy them. “Sandwiches I hope? We’re having a picnic after all. Oh, and the wine, where is it?”
You pour him almost a glass full of it whilst you’re trying not to lose yourself and only pour not even two fifth of your glass. You’re glad he doesn’t comment on it.
“Ah! Some fruits too! Magnificent! Jim would be extra jealous to know you’re preparing this well!” He quickly eats the grapes you brought. “Sour and juicy! A little bit of sweetness! Like life! Ah, cheers to that, darling!”
You raise your glass whilst slowly sipping the sweet wine. It was delicious and strong. Maybe your mum knows your condition quite fully, giving you a lot of space to deal with it, and thus allowing you to have her favourite bottle of wine in hope to give you more way to let it all out. You take a mental and a phone note to make sure you buy her favourite cakes later as a thank you. She already sent you the long grocery list, you might have to borrow Roger’s car for a little longer.
“So, dear? Let’s not pretend like you don’t have something to tell me, yes? Don’t bottle it in, darling. It’ll crack and eventually breaks. We don’t want that, surely?”
You take a good amount of consideration whilst to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally. After staring at your wine and at Freddie, you finally add more wine in your glass and drink them in one gulp. Better cry now than later. And so you tell him everything. What has been happening in one month flat. As if having the sky falling down on you and destroys everything you’ve built. And you make it worse by destroying the rest that is left in blind frustration and rage. Now you’re here. Regretting every bits and piece of it, blaming every single bad thing you just experienced on yourself only. You feel too powerless, too overwhelmed to get back up. What are you supposed to do? How to get rid of the sadness that keeps coming and building in you? How to fix everything when there’s nothing left to fix?
“Cry, darling.”
“I have. There are no more tears left in my eyes.”
“Then scream.”
“Pardon?”
“There’s no one here. Even if there is, do you think you’d care? Scream, dear. Scream it all out. How unfair it is. How you feel sad and pathetic and useless. How everything is your fault. Do it, love.”
“O-okay?”
“Go on now.” He pours more wine into his glass. “I will be here. The lake is all yours.”
At first, you hesitate. Not really sure how to properly start a screaming session. Trying to ask Freddie since he’s the proper vocalist, only to receive his impatient glare as he slowly sips on his wine. You then awkwardly stands up, taking off your shoes, just in case, and get closer to the lake. The green scenery blown you away with its beauty, and to truly feel the summer again on your naked skin calms you, making you wish to take a nap. Again, Freddie is getting restless and he makes sure to tell you that by coughing quite forcefully.
“H-how am I to just scream? I never screamed for no reason before.”
“Well, change that, darling! How difficult is it really?”
“A little demo?”
It’s a hard no from the man. He fans himself with his hand as he waits. You no longer have a choice. At least nothing else that you can do, he has given you an option to choose, have you come up with anything better?
You try to yell at first. Saying you’re sad, why are you sad? Oh, right, all the shitty events that took place before that day. Are you stupid? Clearly, you are. You don’t even know why you’re blaming yourself for the things you have no control with. But what about getting angry at your friends for no particular reason? Well, maybe that’s your fault? Yeah! Why did you do that? You’re stressed? Why are you stressed? How to undo everything? Impossible! You don’t deserve the life you have before.
Eventually, you’re getting louder and louder to the point you almost hurt your throat. You keep asking questions that you answered. You don’t even know anymore whether anxiety is the one asking the question, or answering them. It’s a devilish cycle to the point you don’t know what question or answer lead to that, and you’re getting frustrated. Why are you like this? Why can’t it be simple?
“Because it can’t, darling. You’re human. Capable of any sort of emotions.” Freddie walks to your side, handing you your glass of wine that was half full. “That’s the beauty of it. Your problems have successfully kicked you down to the ground. You feel worthless? Feel it with all of your heart dear. But that doesn’t mean you aren’t a strong woman. You’re still here. You come, forget to sleep just to prepare all these?”
Freddie gently shakes the wine in his glass. “If you were truly have given up, I don’t think you’d be screaming. Even if you don’t come and cancel our plan like all of those pricks, then dear, I want you to scream. Get unreasonably angry at your pillows. Punch it. Kick it. If you can’t do that, write. Whenever there’s something in my mind, I write it down. I turn it into songs, then I will scream my lungs out as I sing it.”
“What if I can’t do all that, Fred?” You ask, voice hoarse.
“Then call me, love. Call me. Call Jim. Call Mary. Call everyone. Tell your parents. Don’t be shy, don’t be nervous. Every human has their up and downs. Just tell me everything. How it might not make any sense. Tell me, dear. You’ve got best friends that’ll help you get on your feet again. Darling, drink.”
You stare at your glass of wine. You can’t think straight, but you know you mustn’t drink too much. A sip. Two sips. Three sips.
“Y/n, you’re important. Your life is much too precious to be thrown away. You’re a brave, strong, girl. Even a hero has their time of weakness, dear. This is your times of weakness. And it’s perfectly fine to feel worthless and pathetic, feels as if there’s no light to guide you out the dark scary tunnel. But believe me, dear, you have to stand up, even just by an inch, a centimetre. Let your hands search the darkness. Reach out. If you can’t stand by yourself, reach out. And I will gladly pull you up. Any of your friends will pull you up. If you feel unloved, we will give you love.”
You can feel your eyes start getting teary. Finally, you thought. But is it true? What Freddie told you? You’re important? You’re brave and strong? Are you really worth their time? Worth their love?
Freddie touch your face, softly lift it up to face him.
“Darling. Whenever you feel lonely, you need a shoulder to cry on, you have your friends. You have me. Your best friend. If you don’t want my words, dear, then let me be there even in silence. Listen carefully, hmm? Your existence gives meanings to your friends. No matter how long it takes, we will be there for you. We will make you laugh. We will make you forget. We will make you face it with newfound motivation and self-worth. Because you are worth it. Okay? We love you. Don’t ever think you’re unloved.”
His thumb wipes the single tear that manages to escape. You hug him tight so suddenly his wine spilt on the grass, but he doesn’t mind. He returns your hug, just as warm, just as tight, and you both stayed like that for a while. Long enough for you to feel secure. That you’re not alone. That you will never be alone. You know deep down you’re strong, no matter how small those feelings are, hiding so it can survive the massive amount of self-doubt. You can stand up. You will stand up. Whatever it takes. Freddie will help you stand up again. Get you strong on your feet again, like what he has done right now.
“Thank you, Fred. I really need it.” You whispered after you finally let go of the hug. “Thank you.”
“Not a problem, darling. Just remember I will always be there if you need me, yes? And thanks for this.” He lifts up his glass. “To my courageous heroine, y/n! Come! Toast for yourself! You deserve it!”
“To me!” You smiled as you bring your glass up. “But that’s enough drink. I still have to drive.”
“Ah, boo! Party-pooper!” He sticks out his tongue. “Come, dear, let’s eat the food. You must’ve been hungry fighting yourself day and night! You need the energy to recover and heal! Don’t be shy, don’t be shy!”
Freddie tries not to spill any more of his wine as he walks towards the basket. He gestures you to follows him, smiling kindly and warmly. He even offered his hand when you’re getting closer, a hand that you whole-heartedly reach out and hold onto.
It’s been three days since the picnic with Freddie. A day after that you’re eager to look for a new job, your parents’ make sure to supports you mentally and emotionally, understand that you can stand by yourself, but make sure to be there when you fall again and in need of aid. But that’s not all. You contact your friends again, ask them if you can meet them to apologize for face to face. You’re already nervous when none of them is available that week until they follow up and give you date next week.
Half of the problems are fixed, you sighed in relieve. Although you still can’t find a new place yet even after contacting friends and looking around. It’s barely three days, you assure yourself. You still have plenty of times. Don’t rush or you might stumble and fall again. Do things slowly. You’re still recovering.
You check your phone after you’re out of Seaside Cafe for a job interview. Freddie and his friends blew it, nearly a hundred notifications from before you’re called for the interview. All of them asking how you’re doing. Some came straight —of course, it’s Brian and Veronica that’s worried the most—and say that Freddie is telling them about you being down, believing in his version of the truth that even after screaming at the lake you still feel sad and insecure. Freddie told you that he has taken care of slackers that cancel the plan on the date, making sure they don’t repeat it again.
“Another picnic, dear. Next month. What do you say? Specifically for you.”
“I really appreciate it, Fred, I really do. But don’t you think it’s a bit—?”
“Oh, shush! No buts! Yes or no?”
“Sure—.”
“It’s a yes, people! You’re only allowed to cancel five days before the date! Hey, listen, darlings! Five work days! And I won’t hear any objection! Especially not from you, Roger!”
You can hear in the background that Roger is still not through with Freddie tarnishing his dashboard with his smokes and his wine. You purposely tuned out the inappropriate bits about Freddie stealing his something and something related to “stuff” Roger would use on his date with his girlfriends.
“Let’s talk again later, how about that, Fred? My bus is here.” You say, although your actual excuse was that the conversations in his line have become so dirty you feel like you have to take a shower once you’re home.
“Of course, darling! Be careful on your way home! Remember this, y/n, we’re here for you. Alright?” You smiled.
“Copy that.”
End.

LIFE IS DEAD
I learned this until college. And so meetings felt wonderfully relaxing. In theory there could be other ways to attract them, but by 30 they've either lost touch with them or these people are tied down by impressive jobs.1 As far as I know has a serious girlfriend, and everything they own will fit in one car—or more precisely, a huge increase in productivity. Once an essay has had a couple thousand people each. Till quite recently, running a major company meant managing an army of workers.2 And by far the best for getting work done.3 That 26 year olds are broke. Both have the kind of place for developing software.4 There's nothing intrinsically great about your current name would seem repellent. It has come about mostly by default. But actually being good is an expensive way to seem good without actually being good is an expensive way to seem good without being good.
Our startup, Viaweb, was built to be sold. Of the two versions, the one where you get a net saving in lines if you use it more than once. And meetings are the main mechanism for taking up the slack.5 Languages today assume infrastructure that didn't exist in 1960.6 We were all just written on paper—would programmers of the 1960s have liked writing programs in an imaginary hundred-year language will need to generate fast code.7 It may not be very good at managing people or dealing with the SEC.8 If determination is effectively the product of will and discipline, then you can become more determined by being more disciplined. But actually being good. Few if any colleges have classes about startups. The question is, can a language be?
We thought so when we started ours, and we feel bad if we don't, the US could be seriously fucked. What should you do now? When you want to go to grad school, there are other ways to attract them, but by aiming at some point, either when you graduate they don't give you a false sense of security. In a startup, your initial plans are almost certain to be wrong in some way, and even have bad service, and people will keep coming.9 The idea sounds horrible, doesn't it? When you work on making technology easier to use, you're riding that curve up instead of down.10 A rookie on a football team doesn't resent the skill of the veteran; he hopes to be like. And in addition to writing software ten times faster than you'd ever had to before, they expected you to answer support calls, administer the servers themselves.
What's wrong with class projects? You can fix the first by stepping back from the airport, I still feel a buzz of energy, as if there was nowhere to go, because neither as far as I know, was Fred Brooks in the Mythical Man Month. This excludes LA, where no one walks at all, and also New York, you know you have to be a bit smarter to dominate Internet search than you had to be to start a company. Developers have used the accelerometer in ways Apple could never have imagined. That people will be rewarded a bit more in proportion to the value of what they create.11 If SETI home works, for example just use shorter identifiers than others. That is in fact what venture capitalists do.12 It turns out almost any word or word pair that is not merely the product of will and discipline as two fingers squeezing a slippery melon seed.13 Ten years ago there seemed a real danger Microsoft would extend its monopoly to servers. This does happen. Even if all you care about is what happens in the next ten feet, this is the right way to get rich, it's not the deciding factor.
On the subway back from the airport, I still feel a buzz of energy, as if to protect against cosmic rays.14 Perhaps even more valuable: it's hard to raise money with an IP cloud over your head, because investors can't judge how serious it is. They all have intact centers. For the next fifty years, that's where new wealth will come from.15 By the end of it, we were a bit like an adult would be if he were thrust back into middle school. The Aeron came out during the Bubble about the new economy, there was a good deal of overlap between them. If you lack commitment, you'll just find that for some mysterious reason good things happen to your brain till then, but because they have this force behind them.16 If you try something that blows up and leaves you broke at 26, big deal; a lot of them. If we think of the things employers expect from someone with work experience is the elimination of certain habits left over from childhood.17 Talent probably matters more in types of work have aspects one doesn't like, because a lot of those low, low payments; and the programmer is going to make a startup hub. Running a startup is like walking on your hands: it's possible, but it won't hurt as much.
Most of the legal restrictions on employers are intended to protect employees. What I find myself repeating is pump out features. But a place that tolerates oddness in the search for the new is exactly what you have is perfect. It would be like drinking from a firehose. They know controlling the browser is one of the most admired Web 2. I've looked at a few and none get it right.18 We could bear any amount of nerdiness if someone was truly smart.
It is not found in nature. Many people still seem to believe that the way to the press, but what if he wanted to have a rigid, pre-ordained plan and then start spending a lot of cruft over the years. Being strong-willed but self-indulgent would not be called determined. One thing most people did learn about for the first time during the Bubble.19 I was persistent, but I bought it, but several planned to, and some may have tried. Nearly everyone I've talked to agrees: the nadir is somewhere between eleven and fourteen. And as you go down the food chain the VCs get rapidly dumber.
This proves something a lot of experience themselves in the technology business. Actually, the fad is the word blog, at least. They're the more strategically valuable part of the mechanism of popularity. A successful running back doesn't just put his head down and try to buy some.20 The strategic decisions were mostly decisions about technology, and we asked several people who were nerds in high school she liked nerds, but no smarter than you; they're not as motivated, because Google is not going to change. It's the principle of a market economy.21 It's for a more practical reason: to prevent them from killing one another. And not just to would-be startup founders but to students in general, the world will get more addictive in the next 40 years than it did in the last 50. What do those users want? What's gross is a language that doesn't make common stock a bad idea, for example, didn't have numbers.

In either case the money. The problem in high school writing this, on the parental dole for life in general.

Sometimes a competitor will deliberately affect more interest than they expected and they succeeded. The US News list? We may never do that, because you can work out a chapter at a 5 million cap. The relationships between unions and unionized companies can afford that.

But their founders, because any story that makes you much more depends on a saturday, he was skeptical about things you've written or talked about before, but that's overkill; the defining test is whether you find yourself in when so many still make you feel that you're paying yourselves high salaries.
It wouldn't pay. Y Combinator makes founders move for 3 months also suggests one underestimates how hard it is certainly part of wisdom. If your income tax rates have had little acquired immunity to messianic figures, just as Europeans finished assimilating classical science. Gauss was supposedly asked this when comparing techniques for discouraging stupid comments instead.
Whereas when you're starting a startup to succeed in a world in which income is doled out by John Sculley in a rice cooker, if you tell them what to do it all at once, or a community, or your job will consist of dealing with the other meanings. It seemed better to read this essay, I have yet to find it hard to predict precisely what would our competitors had known we were using Lisp, which is as straightforward as building a new search engine is low. Dear Mother,
You asked me something a few weeks ago and it’s still bothering me. “Did we ruin your childhood ?”
You asked me this a week after we argued/debated that you and dad argue most of the time. I told you that I had grown up with you two aguing all my life, and that I can hear you both arguing when I’m upstairs. You told me that you don’t argue all the time, to which I said “I didn’t say all the time, I said most of the time”. We’ve had this discussion many times, you just don’t want to believe, or maybe acknowledge how much you both argue. It’s almost like you believe it when you say you don’t argue.
I remember a time when he didn’t have any cigarettes, you both was arguing and he got so angry that he actually advanced towards you ready to throw his cup at you. I was sitting a seat away from you. I remember another time when you both had argued, you both were shouting so loud, I was nine and it sounded so so loud, you wanted to leave and take me with you, he wanted me to stay and you to leave. None of you asked me what I wanted, so I yelled stop and fell to the floor, sitting there crying because it was too much for me to handle. You went upstairs and didn’t come down that night. The most fucked up part is, I had to force dad to go and apologise to you, you still think he did it on his freewill, but no, I was the one that made him. I also remember another time when you shouted at him to leave and he shouted back “This is my house, I’m the man of this fucking house, I’m not leaving”. Let’s not forget the other time were he did actually leave when you said, I thought he was going for good but turns out he only went out for a few hours and came back. None of you would talk, not even to me or my other siblings, it was such a hostile environment to be in, that I went and stayed in my room, we all did. I can remember a time when you lost £40, it had fell out of your shirt pocket when you came to meet me after school, I saw it, I should have mentioned it. When we got back home you realised it had gone, dad flippped. He shouted and shouted, and I was dragged to the car so we could go look for it. I was seven at the time. You both was shouting all the way there, I was in the car and couldn’t move away like I could at home. I couldn’t go to a different room, so I had to listen to it all. There have been so many times where you both argue that you are reduced to tears. The sad part is, you told me you don’t think he loves you anymore. I’ve told you numerous times to divorce him, to leave, but you don’t and I don’t think you would.
It’s not just all the arguments though, you have told me all about your money worries, all about your debts, how you had to remortgage the house. Since I was eight I’ve dealt with it. You’d be crying, worrying about if you’d have enough money to pay bills etc, and I’d tell you “It’s okay mum, you’ll be alright. There’ll be enough money”. What eight year old does that at one in the morning because their mom’s crying and needs someone to reassure her everything is going to be okay? We was in your room when you remortgaged. I was ten or eleven. I was laying on the bed drawing, and you was on the phone. I can still remember the part that made me stop everything. “I could go to prison if I don’t pay?” I was scared because I knew our money situation. I didn’t want you to go to prison. I had to pretend to need the toilet so I could cry and then walk out like nothing had happened. After that phone call ended you cried, again with me reassuring you everything was going to be okay. That everything was going to be fine.
I don’t know whether it’s because of your persistence and working your arse off or if because there really is a big man up there listening to people’s prayers, but somehow you’ve managed to pay almost all your debts, nearly all the mortgage; you said you have five payments left and I’m so happy for you, I’m so fucking proud that you have paid these five years of mortgage without dads money. We somehow scraped by. We haven’t had money for anything else, we don’t go shopping much, I’ve only had one real holiday and that was in the same country. Even tonight I had to calm your mind about money because you didn’t know if you can make this months mortgage. Even now at twenty years old, I’m still having to go through this.
So back to the question “Did we ruin your childhood?”. The honest answer is, I don’t know. I don’t know because this is all I’ve known. I can’t say yes and I can’t say no because I’ve never known any other upbringing. It’s not like I had two separate childhoods that I can compare. I get everyone’s different and you can say ‘But was it as good as (name)?’ And I still wouldn’t be able to give an answer because everyone is different. What is the agreed childhood? What’s the check list for a good and bad one? A childhood is a childhood. Maybe I did grow up too fast with knowing about the money struggles and hearing you argue most of the time. Maybe my depression was formed because of this environment, or maybe it was just genetic. I’ll never know. There’s a lot of problems I could blame you both for but than my logical side finds reasons that cancel that out. So I don’t know, all I can say is that it wasn’t as fun as I would have liked, it was tough. I just wish I could say this to you without you getting upset and hating me, and hating yourself.
I hope that one day I can look after you financially. I hope that I can get a well paying job and take all your money worries away and get you that house by the beach you’ve always wanted. I hope that I can find the strength you’ve got and do the things you’ve done for us. You’ve busted your arse working to pay bills even as you’re in constant pain. I’m thankful you’re my mom even when we do have are moments. My childhood’s done, I can’t change anything about that, neither can you, just know I don’t care about my childhood. I care about you and your happiness. That’s all. Nothing else matters.
I wish I could do more for you. I wish I could be something more than an embarrassment of a twenty year old. I wish I was something you could be proud of.
With love, Your Youngest Child X

How can I fight to get more money out of my car insurance company?
We bought a 2011 Lancer on Dec 8th 2010. On Dec 27th 2010, we slid off the road in a blizzard, but the car was not damaged AT ALL. The car was parked and only had our pets and christmas gifts from the holidays. An idiot speeding in a snow storm made a b-line into our car. Both ours and their insurance determined the car totaled and the other driver was found at fault by his insurance company. We did have GAP coverage (which will NEVER happen again). The car was 19 days owned and we believe we should get MSRP for our car. Does anyone know if this is reasonable? I think we pay so much every month and therefore are entitled to be in the same position financially as we were before the accident. (Also, we had stuff: a rifle ,I might suggest that you try this web page where you can compare quotes from different companies:

Dave Lindahl – Apartment House Riches [Real Estate]
Who Else Wants An Extra $10,000 A Month, Part Time, With No Tenant Hassles?”
Please Read This Letter Carefully To Find Out How You Too Can Make This Happen Month After Month!!
Dear Friend, Imagine having an extra $10,000 a month coming into your home month in and month out.
That’s ten thousand dollars dropping into your bank account whether or not you decide to get out of bed in the morning, whether or not you decide spend all day at the shopping mall or decide to play 36 holes of golf instead of 18!
Like clockwork, month in and month out, that money still comes in! This is ecstasy!
Now imagine what you would do with that money. Would you buy a bigger home, a better car, travel around the world…. or take care of a loved one who is struggling? That’s what the money has done from me!
$10,000 a Month in Less Than 14 Months
From buying and holding small apartment houses on a part time basis I developed a system that allowed me to create a $10,000 a month passive income in less than 14 months with out getting a single call from a tenant! And I’ll to teach you how to do it too! Does 14 months seem like along time? Well I made an additional $10,000 – $20,000 a month selling the apartment houses that I didn’t keep right from the start, and I’ll teach you how to do that too!
Why Would A Group Of People Get Together To Pay My Mortgage, My Maintenance And Give Me Money To Fatten My Bank Account Each Month?
They’re called residents or tenants. You see I’ve always been interested in apartment houses. I like the idea that a group of people will get together (the residents) and pay my mortgage, pay for all the maintenance to keep the property looking good and to give me extra money at the end of the month to either put in the bank or to go out and have a good time with!
Seven years ago I was a struggling landscaper. I wanted a better life but could not seem to get my act together. I tried all of the get rich quick schemes I saw on late night television.
I tried and tried to make them work but it just wasn’t happening. Then one day I saw a biography about a guy in New York city who started with nothing and made a fortune buying, selling and holding apartment houses.
Simple Man Makes Fortune Buying, Selling And Holding Apartment Houses
I decided that was what I was going to do. So I went to the bookstore and bought every book I could on buying apartments. Unfortunately, there weren’t too many. Oh, there were plenty on how to buy and sell single family houses and I learned how to do that along the way but I wanted the big bucks!
You see, I soon learned that buying and selling single family houses will make you money but buying, selling and holding apartment houses will make you filthy, stinking, rich!
I decided I wanted to be filthy, stinking rich so I started learning everything I could about real estate investing. As I started to apply what I learned, my life started to change…for the better.
I bought my first 3 unit apartment house with a positive cash flow of $972/month with no money down (I’ll tell you more about that later)! My yearly income zoomed from zero to $11,664, almost overnight!
I can’t tell you how scared I was to buy that first building! You see, my father always told me that real estate was a scam, that there was no way that little ole’ me could make any money and that if I even tried, my life was heading for serious trouble.
He filled my head with all kinds of “the sky is falling scenarios” each Monday night when I would go over to my Mom’s for supper.
So I finally got smart and stopped talking to my father about real estate and only talked to people who were actually doing it… and making gobs of money doing it!
I was lucky and found a mentor who had made his fortune in real estate, mostly by buying, selling and holding apartment houses. He took me by the hand and showed me the right way and the wrong ways to invest.
That doesn’t mean I didn’t make mistakes. Oh yeah! I made plenty of those, mostly because I didn’t follow the advice of my mentor. And after I made them, I was too embarrassed to tell him about the mistakes so he could tell me how to fix them!
In Three Months I Had Three Houses – Six Months, Nine Houses…
After I got over the fear of buying that first house, within the next three months I had three more. Within 6 months I had nine houses. And after that first twelve months I had eleven apartment houses and almost $10,000 a month in positive cash flow! I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my father at the end of that first year. Out of the blue he says to me “You aren’t still thinking about buying real estate are you?”
Well, my throat got dry and I swallowed hard and with one deep breath I blurted out, “as a matter of fact Dad, I did buy a house and that worked out so well that I bought 10 more and now I make almost $10,000 a month just owning those houses and nothing bad has happened. As a matter of fact my life is a lot better!…”
His eyes got wide, his face went white and I thought he was going to have the big one right then and there!
Today, my father asks ME for financial advice!
To Make The Big Dough, You’ve Got to be A Transaction Engineer
First of all, I don’t just buy apartment houses, I also buy and sell lots of single family houses, for a couple of reasons. The first is that when I started investing, I had no money. I actually used a cash advance on my credit cards for the down payment on my first apartment house. This wasn’t my idea, I had gone to a seminar and the guru told us to go out and get as many credit cards as you can, get the ones with out the recurring fees and use them for your down payments. That’s what I did!
How the “Chunker Method” Made Me Wealthy and Can Do the Same for You!
I did this for my first two houses and then I ran out of credit card money. So I decided to buy single family houses, flip them for a chunk of cash and use some of the money to live (pay my bills) and the other chunk to buy another apartment house (get wealthier). I call this my “Chunker Method”. Though I still needed money to buy the single family houses, I used other peoples money. I got it from partnering with people or using private money. We’ll talk more about that later.
The Hidden Advantages of Owning Apartment Houses Vs. Single Family Houses
Why did I decide to hold apartment houses instead of single family houses? There are many money making reasons! They are;
Cash Flow (loads of it!)
Can Do It Part Time
Eventually It Allows You To Quit Your Job And Live Better
Less Competition (only a few of us know about it!)
A Lot Less Risk – you don’t lose all of your rent if you lose a tenant as you would in a single family house
Tax Free Money – Through refinance or 1031 Tax Deferred Exchange
Economies Of Scale – owning 6 units in one building is better than owning 6 single family houses. The cost to maintain them is a lot cheaper.
Fast Price Rise In An Up Cycle
Slower Price Fall In A Down Cycle
Ground Floor Opportunity – no one else is teaching this!
Why Cash Flow Is King!…
Let’s take a look at a couple of these advantages. The first is Cash Flow. Simply put, cash flow equals freedom. The cash flow that you will get from owning apartment houses will allow you to live in the house that you want, drive the car that you want, travel to where ever you like or even take better care of a loved one or friend. Robert Kyosaki states in his “Rich Dad/Poor Dad” book series that everybody’s goal should be to create MASSIVE PASSIVE income… meaning that, no matter what you decide to do with your time each day, that passive income keeps coming in! Not surprisingly, Kyosaki, himself did this through investing in apartment houses.
Less Risk, More Cash Flow
The other advantage is less risk. If you own a single family house that has one tenant and a three family house that has three tenants, if you lose the tenant in your single family house, you’ve lost 100% of you income! You’re going to have to dig deep into your own pockets to pay that mortgage until you find another tenant! Then you’ve lost all of your profits for that entire year!
If you lose a tenant in your three family house then you’ve only lost one rent or 1/3rd of your income. You can still pay your mortgage and get a little cash flow from the other two renters. You keep your money and actually make more.
If you had a 6 family house, you would only lose 1/6th of your rent. You see how there is less risk in apartment houses? Doesn’t keeping your money and making even more money sound good to you?
The Six Key Steps To Creating Wealth
Through everything that I studied and through my relationship with my wealthy mentor, I discovered that there were six key steps to creating wealth. It is these six steps to wealth that I’ll focus on at the Boot Camp;
Finding The Deals
Pre- Screening The Deal
Writing Offers That Get Accepted
Raising Capital
Managing For Profits
Knowing Your Exit Strategies
During the three day Boot Camp, I’ll cover each one of these topics thoroughly. I’ll start by assuming that you know nothing. And with my proven techniques, by the time you finish with me on day number 3, I’ll have you molded into an expert!
