Apartment 509 (Masterlist) | Main Masterlist
Six years later..
If someone were to tell you years ago that you’d fall in love with your roommate you would have laughed and told them that they were crazy. That you weren’t that type of person to fall into that fantasy story.
Boy were you wrong about that.
If you were being honest you weren’t sure if you were ever going to find your person, a part of you had given up, just accepting the fact that you’d be single forever, but then the universe threw it’s plan at you like a ton of bricks. You truly never expected to fall in love the way you did, but now you couldn’t be more grateful.
Becoming roommates with Tom and Jacob was the best thing to ever happen to you, not only was the apartment a saving grace for your time of need, but you made new friends and you found your person as well.
Needless to say Tom and you didn’t get along so well in the beginning which was no surprise there, you couldn’t stand fuckboys, and that’s what intrigued him more about you. You never saw yourself dating the type of person you used to despise, yet you proved yourself wrong.
You couldn’t help but let out a quiet laugh, thinking back at all the memories of the past couple years. It was definitely a wild ride, something you were surprised you made it out of, but with Tom by your side you knew you could accomplish anything.
“What is that beautiful mind thinking of?” His voice snapped you out of your thoughts, causing you to turn your head and look at him. “Just thinking about how insane these past few years have been, how much my life has changed, how much yours has too.” You smiled softly at him, your fingers tracing his cheek gently.
Tom adjusted himself under the sheet covers, pulling you closer to his chest as he pressed a light kiss to your forehead. “I will agree to that, so much has happened to us, but I couldn’t be more thankful and blessed.” He hummed, his fingers caressing your back soothingly.
You melted into his touch, a smile on your lips as your eyes fluttered shut at the feeling. You both laid in silence for a few moments, just enjoying one another’s presence, until Tom lifted his head causing you to open your eyes.
“As much as I love laying here with you darling, we do have a party we have to start getting ready for.” Tom whispered, his voice soft and calm as you pouted, burying your face into his shoulder, pressing a faint kiss to his bare skin.
“I know, but I’d love to spend all day in bed with you.” You whined, making him chuckle, his chest vibrating making you smile widely. “I would love that too, but our friends wouldn’t want to experience this.” He teased, making you laugh and pull away from him.
“You’re right.” You huffed out, staring at the ceiling as Tom grinned at your childish behavior, something he thought was adorable. “Plus, we have two little munchkins who will destroy this house if we don’t get out there.” He pointed out, causing your eyes to widen just at the thought.
“Do you know how long it took to get jelly out of Mason’s hair the other day?” You glanced over at him, “An hour. A full hour Thomas! That boy thought it was your hair gel and wanted to be like his daddy.” You squinted your eyes at him as he gave you a sheepish smile.
“What can I say, he has good style! Just needs to use the right products and well.. Not food to do it.” Tom laughed, hopping out of the comfortable bed before you could whack his arm. You gave him a playful glare as he winked at you, disappearing into the bathroom.
You let out a content sigh, hearing the water run in the bathroom as you looked around the bedroom. Your life was completely different than how it was five years ago.
Not only did you graduate college, while being pregnant might you add, but you also started dating Tom. Once you gave birth to your beautiful baby boy Mason, you and Tom decided it was time to start house hunting. You both knew the apartment wasn’t a big enough space for a child, plus you both didn’t want to bother Jacob as well.
You both had been saving up money for a while, wanting to eventually find a house to buy, and then one day while you were searching online, you found your dream home. You quickly ran out to show Tom, and the second he saw it his eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning.
Within the next two hours you and Tom went to go walk through the house, whilst Jacob being the best friend he is, babysat Mason. Tom and you knew once you got done walking through the beautiful home that it was perfect.
You both did some talking with the realtor, sorting out some things with the house and land, but in the end, you both decided that it was too perfect to pass up. A couple more hours of signing papers and details that Tom ended up taking over, you both were now the new owners of a gorgeous home.
Needless to say you both were extremely excited.
Once you both returned to the apartment Tom was eager to break the news to Jacob, who was super happy for the both of you. You let the two boys talk while you took Mason back to your room, getting a bottle ready for him.
Over the course of a couple weeks you both moved things out of the apartment and into your new house, with the help of Jacob, Harrison, and Madison of course. Once everything was finally moved in you all had dinner and relaxed.
You were extremely thankful to have such amazing friends.
Weeks after you started living in your new house, things were going great, you both along with Mason were the happiest you’d ever been. However, you were nowhere near prepared for what was about to happen.
You came home one day after being out with Madison, she had wanted to do a fun girls day, of course you were a bit anxious, you didn’t want to leave Mason, but Tom convinced you to go have fun and that he could watch him.
So, you ended up going out with her and having a blast, you didn’t realize how bad you needed to get out and let go. You both ended up getting your hair and nails done, along with some lovely shopping.
By the time you arrived back at your house it was evening, you bid Madison goodbye, making your way up to your front door, only to enter and see rose petals scattered along the floor, small lit candles making a path for you to follow.
You couldn’t help but smile, shaking your head at how adorable he was being. You set your bags down at the door, following the lit path and rose petals that lead you outside to the backyard. However, Tom was nowhere to be found.
You glanced around the yard, your eyes landing on a small folded up letter on the glass table.
My dearest Y/N,
As you can see I’m nowhere to be found, but what you can find is a stunning red dress that I know you’d look gorgeous in. Meet me at our favorite place.
Love, Tom
You couldn’t help but smile widely at his cheesiness, but you loved it just as much. You opened the box that was underneath the letter, a beautiful red dress sitting prettily in it. With zero hesitation you rushed back into the house, slipping into the dress, admiring how it hugged your body in all the right places.
You made sure your makeup and hair looked good, and then you headed down the stairs, grabbing your car keys and heading out the door. The drive to the area wasn’t too long, you knew it like the back of your hand.
About ten minutes later you pulled up to the place, the sun had begun to set, causing the sky to turn into a beautiful sunset. You got out of the car, seeing more rose petals and candles creating a path for you.
You began to follow them along the wooden path, your eyes widening when you saw Tom standing in the middle of the field. His head snapped over towards you, his eyes drinking you in as you smiled warmly at him.
He looked extremely good, he was dressed up in a black suit, his hair slightly gelled back but not too much to the point where you couldn’t see his curls. The river of water flowed behind him, as a light warm breeze blew.
You carefully made your way towards him, your nerves skyrocketing as you got closer. Eventually you made it up to him, a happy yet nervous smile on your face as you stood in front of him.
“I see you found my note.” He grinned teasingly, making you laugh and nod your head as he grabbed your hands gently in his. “This whole thing is beautiful Tom, the dress, the roses and candles, our place, the sunset.” You gushed, a wide smile on your lips as he smiled adoringly at you.
“I’m glad you like it.” He rubbed your hands with the pads of his thumbs. “Like it? Tom I love it, this is perfect.” You smiled at him as he grinned. “I do have to ask though, what is all of this for? Did I forget a date night?” You tilted your head at him slightly, watching as he inhaled a deep breath.
“No, no you didn’t forget a date night.” He let out a small chuckle, clearing his throat as his nerves started to set in.
“I did all of this because tonight is a special night, it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, but it was never the right time, until now.” He nervously spoke, his eyes fixed on yours as you felt your heart starting to race in your chest.
“The day we met I knew that you were the one, of course we had our ups and downs but that just made us stronger into who we are today.” Tom began, licking his lips as he held your hands in his, his palms getting sweaty.
“I was a broken guy who slept with random girls to fill a void I was missing, I never knew what love was, until I met you.” He smiled warmly at you, making you smile in response. “I look at us now and I always think, ‘wow, I am so lucky to have this wonderful person in my life, I don’t know what I’d do without them.’” He chuckled, making you laugh quietly with him, tears rimming your eyes.
“Not only that but we have our amazing son Mason and I couldn’t be more grateful.” He beamed, squeezing your hands.
“Y/N, you have brought so much happiness and joy into my life, I love waking up with you sleeping next to me, I love taking care of Mason with you, I love making so many memories together, but most importantly, I love you so much, so..” He paused, letting go of your hands as he got down on one knee, pulling a small black box out of his jacket pocket.
You covered your mouth with your hands, tears slipping down your cheeks as he opened the box revealing the most gorgeous diamond ring you had ever seen.
“Y/N, will you marry me?” He looked up at you, his own eyes brimming with tears as you nodded your head rapidly. “Yes! One hundred percent yes!” You cried out as he quickly stood, taking a step towards you as he pulled you into a passionate kiss.
You both broke away, laughter leaving both your mouths as tears slipped down each of your cheeks. Tom held your hand, slipping the blinding ring onto your finger with shaky hands.
“I love you so much.” He murmured, pulling you in for another kiss as you smiled against his lips, “I love you so much more.” You whispered against his, making him smile widely in response.
What you didn’t expect next was for all your friends to emerge out of hiding, cheers erupting from their mouths making you and Tom both smile brightly. Madison was holding Mason while Harrison was taking pictures of the entire proposal. Jacob was clapping and holding a bottle of champagne.
Needless to say, it was the most magical and special proposal you’d ever had.
“You’re still in bed?” You heard your husband chuckle, your eyes darting over to see him all dressed and looking sexy as ever. “Of course, it’s comfy here, plus I was just thinking about the day you proposed to me.” You grinned at him as his cheeks flushed a light shade of red.
“That day and our wedding day will forever be two of my most favorite moments in life.” He smiled lovingly at you, walking over and pressing a short kiss to your lips. “What are the other ones?” You questioned, curious about what he was going to say.
“Well obviously having Mason and Henry.” Tom stated as if it was basic knowledge, making you snort in response as he smirked at you. “Now go get ready, we have less than three hours to get the house prepped and to tell everyone the big news.” Tom squinted his eyes at you making you laugh and raise your hands in surrender.
“Alright! I’m going, I'm going!” You smiled as you got out of bed, waving him off as you went into the bathroom this time. You spent the next twenty minutes getting ready and tidying up the bedroom. Once you were satisfied with how everything looked, you headed out of the bedroom.
You made your way down the stairs, hearing numerous voices filling your ears as you walked into the kitchen, a smile forming on your lips as you saw Tom helping Mason and Henry. “Look at my three little helpers.” You cooed, hands on your hips as Tom grinned at you, Mason and Henry running over towards you.
“Mom! Look what we did!” Mason tugged on your hand excitedly as Henry held your other hand. You let the boys walk you over towards the counter, your face lighting up at the vase of followers.
“These are beautiful boys, did you cut them to fit the vase all by yourselves?” You beamed at the two of them as they nodded excitedly, eyes wide. “Yes! With daddy’s help.” Henry giggled, making you laugh and pull them both in for a hug.
“Well they look amazing, uncle Harrison and aunt Maddie are going to love them.” You ruffled their hair as they let out a chorus of laughter. Tom however was simply standing off to the side and watching the entire thing, his heart warming at the three people he loved the most.
“Boys, do you want to help me go grab some drinks from the garage?” Tom chimed in, seeing their heads snap over in pure excitement of helping. You couldn’t help but let out a laugh as they went running off in the direction of the garage, a grin on Tom’s lips as he winked at you, following after the two kids.
While Tom had the kids distracted for a moment you spent the next couple minutes organizing the kitchen, making it look presentable and tidy. Once they came back they helped place the drinks on the table, before going outside to play for a bit.
You and Tom spent that time fixing up the rest of the main floor, picking up shoes and toys. Soon enough you heard the doorbell ring throughout the house before footsteps and voices could be heard.
“Your favorite people are here!” Madison announced as she walked into the kitchen, a beaming smile on her face as a guy followed behind her. “Oooh, who is this?” You teased, raising your eyebrows as Madison smiled widely, wrapping her arm around the guys bicep.
“You remember Andrew right?” She wiggled her eyebrows as your eyes widened in surprise. “It’s about damn time!” You cheered, making her and Andrew laugh in response. “It took some time, but he finally asked me to be his girlfriend.” She beamed as Andrew kissed her forehead gently.
“I wasted so much time, I don’t know what the past me was thinking.” He chuckled, making the both of you smile. “Well, I’m glad you two are finally together, you make a great couple and seem so happy.” You congratulated them as Madison broke away from Andrew to give you a hug.
You eventually broke away, walking over to give Andrew a welcoming hug as well and telling him to make himself at home. You knew how much Madison liked Andrew, she had been crushing on him for as long as you could remember. You felt your heart sore at the sight of them, she deserved nothing but happiness and she was finally getting it.
You decided to let them be on their own, going to look for Tom when you heard another pair of voices enter the house. The familiar blonde hair coming into view, a girl also following behind him, as well as Jacob.
You smiled warmly at them all as Tom walked into the kitchen, a smile on his lips as he did his hand shake with the two of them.
“Hey man, I’m glad you all could make it.” Tom greeted them, his eyes landing on the girl then back at Harrison. He gave a small grin as Tom’s eyes widened in surprise.
You however watched this entire interaction in confusion, until your eyes darted down to the girls hand. Your jaw dropping in shock, eyes wide as you made the connection.
“Everyone, this is Natalie, my fiancée.” Harrison introduced her as all of you clapped and cheered, making the two of them blush and laugh. “We’re so happy for the both of you.” Jacob congratulated them as they smiled lovingly at one another.
“I knew you’d find your person.” You smiled happily at the blonde as he smiled back. “Thank you for always believing in me.” He spoke softly, giving you a side hug as you returned it. “Always.” You smiled.
Once you two let go you glanced over at Madison who lifted her glass into the air, clanking a knife against it. “Since we’re doing introductions, I’d also like to introduce you all to someone.” She grinned as Andrew stood beside her, his face flushed.
“Everyone this is my boyfriend Andrew, Andrew this is Tom, Harrison, Natalie, and Jacob.” Madison spoke happily as they all greeted each other. “It’s about time you two got together.” Tom grinned as Harrison and Jacob smirked to one another.
“Does everyone know how much you liked me?” Andrew teased as Madison laughed, shrugging her shoulders. “I wasn’t exactly subtle about it.” She admitted, making you all laugh, shaking your heads at the two of them.
You all talked for a while, catching up and just having a good time together, eventually Mason and Henry came inside saying they were hungry. You all then decided to eat, grabbing all different types of foods that were spread out on the numerous counters.
You all gathered around your outdoor table, chatting amongst each other, sharing stories and laughing. This was the happiest you had seen everyone in a while, nobody once showed any signs of unhappiness or negativity.
You were listening to Madison and Andrew tell a story about a girl they work with, everyone’s focus on them when you felt Tom’s hand grip your thigh gently. Looking over at him he rose his eyebrows at you in a questioning manner as you smiled at him, nodding your head.
You both waited for them to finish telling the story, laughter leaving all of your mouths as Mason and Henry ate their food happily, not fazed by them talking at all.
Once everyone’s laughter died down, Tom rose from his chair, clearing his throat as everyone’s attention focused on him. “I just wanted to start off by saying thank you all for coming, Y/N and I love having you all over, as do Mason and Henry.” He chuckled as the boys smiled goofily at him in response.
“However, Y/N and I have been keeping something from you all for a while, two things actually.” Tom grinned, watching as curious expressions washed over their faces. “We wanted to hold this little gathering to tell you all the amazing news because you’re such important people in our lives.” He explained as everyone smiled at him in response.
“Come on Holland, you’re killing us here.” Madison teased, eager to know what the big surprise was. Tom let out a laugh as did everyone else as he raised his hands in surrender. “Okay okay, the first half of the big news is..” He trailed off, a bright smile on his face.
“I got the role as Spiderman, I’m going to be in the next Marvel movie!” He excitedly spoke, watching as everyone’s eyes widened in pure shock and surprise as you beamed up at him. “That’s amazing man!” Harrison cheered, standing up within an instant and giving his friend a tight hug.
“Wow that’s crazy! I can totally see it though!” Madison congratulated, excusing herself from her chair, joining the hug with Tom and Harrison. “How long have you been keeping that a secret mate?” Harrison chuckled as Tom smirked.
“For the past couple months, it’s been hard, you know how bad I am at keeping spoilers.” Tom laughed as you nodded your head in agreement. “You have no idea how many times I had to cut him off or stop him from accidentally almost posting something on social media.” You teased, making him pout in response.
“It was only a couple of times!” He whined, making you all laugh as you rolled your eyes playfully. “Sure Tommy, whatever you say.” You cooed, making him smile in response.
“Wait, you said there was something else as well that you wanted to tell us?” Madison spoke up, now standing next to Harrison who looked at everyone then back at Tom. “Yes! You are right.” He nodded his head, clapping his hands.
“However, this part is connected to my new job, except it’s not my place to share it.” He grinned happily as his eyes landed on Jacob who rose from his seat. “I also got a job, I needed to get away from my old one, so I took a leap of faith and I auditioned with Tom and I ended up getting the role of Peter Parker’s best friend, Ned Leeds.” He stated happily as everyone clapped loudly.
“That’s amazing! I’m so happy for you!” Madison cheered, giving him a hug as well as Harrison grinned at his two friends. “Wow so many good things are happening for everyone.” Natalie smiled warmly at the group of people surrounding her.
“It gets better though.” Tom chimed in, catching everyone’s attention once more. “I was told I could have an assistant.” He suggestively spoke, his eyes training over towards Harrison whose eyes widened in shock.
“Wait- Are you?” He stammered as Tom nodded his head, seeing Harrison’s face light up. He quickly turned to Natalie, wanting her opinion as she smiled warmly at him. “It’s a great opportunity Haz, take it.” She encouraged him as he pulled her in for a tight hug, pressing a soft kiss to her lips. “I love you so much.” He murmured as she whispered it back.
He broke away eventually, turning to face his friend as he held his hand out. “You got yourself an assistant mate.” He grinned as Tom shook his hand excitedly, an ecstatic expression on his face.
“This day just keeps getting better and better.” Madison laughed as Andrew wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “It’s not even done yet.” You smirked, seeing her jaw drop in response. “There’s more news? Lord what have you all been up to.” She laughed as you also stood from your chair, walking next to Tom.
“Well, as you know we live in a beautiful home now, we have our two amazing boys who are busy engulfing that blueberry pie.” You paused to laugh as everyone looked over at the two of them shoveling forkfuls of the sugary substance.
You shook your head in amusement as you trained your focus back on everyone, “Tom and I were talking a while ago about something and well..” You turned to look at your husband who was already beaming with excitement.
“Wait hold on, are you-” Madison began, eyes wide as Tom grinned happily. “We’re pregnant again!” He cheered as everyone let out gasps of surprise as you both laughed.
“No freakin’ way!” Madison shouted excitedly, rushing over to give you a tight hug as Harrison and Jacob went to hug Tom. Natalie and Andrew smiled at the group, even though they were new they could see how much they all meant to each other.
“This is insane! You’re having another little Holland.” She screeched, making you laugh as you nodded your head. “Crazy right? We decided we wanted to have one more, Tom’s really hoping it’ll be a girl.” You smiled warmly at your friend as she covered her mouth, still in shock.
You glanced behind her seeing Andrew watching from his seat, you waved him over as he smiled and walked up to the both of you. “Congratulations Y/N.” He smiled as you thanked him.
“Who knows, maybe you two will be having your own little kids running around soon.” You wiggled your eyebrows at the two of them as they both let out laughs. “Hey now, slow down there, we’re nowhere near ready for that yet.” Madison shook her head as Andrew smirked.
“We’re taking everything one step at a time.” He agreed, nodding his head as Madison kissed his cheek gently. “That’s good to hear, I’m truly so happy for the two of you again.” You smiled at the two of them, rubbing Madison’s shoulder before breaking off to go over to Tom.
“So you’re going to have three little ones running around soon huh?” Harrison grinned as you walked up to Tom, wrapping your arm around his bicep. “Yup, and I can’t wait.” He chuckled as you leaned your head against his arm.
“Well, I can already tell that they’re going to grow up in a wonderful and loving family.” Natalie chimed in making your heart warm at her words. “Thank you, that’s very sweet of you to say.” You replied happily as Harrison wrapped an arm around her waist.
“If there’s anyone who’s fit for parenthood it’s you two.” Harrison agreed, making Tom smile. “Thanks mate, that means a lot.” He nodded his head at his friend as Jacob smiled. “Today really has been full of surprises huh?” He chuckled, making everyone laugh.
“It really has.” Harrison agreed, chuckling as Madison and Andrew walked up to them, glasses of champagne being handed out. “Not for you though, you get some lovely apple cider.” She teased, making you laugh.
Once everyone had a glass she raised hers into the air.
“I wanted to start this speech off by saying thank you for inviting us all here today, it means a lot that you would want to share all of this with us.” She began, looking around at everyone.
“That being said, here’s to friendship, family members who couldn’t be here with us today but are in spirit; along with family members we haven’t met yet, and new opportunities.” She smiled as she spoke as everyone listened quietly.
“We have all grown so much over the past years and I can’t wait for more amazing things to happen for all of us. I love you all.” She sniffled, getting slightly emotional as everyone smiled. She let out a quiet laugh, raising her glass out to everyone.
“Cheers to that!” Tom shouted as everyone cheered along with him, glasses clinking together as everyone took a sip.
After that Jacob decided to turn some music on, grooving around to the tunes as Madison and Andrew joined him, Harrison and Natalie joining as well. Whilst Mason and Henry were busy playing around in the yard as you turned to look at Tom.
He tilted his head down to look at you, his warm brown eyes scanning over your face as you made a funny face at him. He couldn’t help but laugh before pressing a soft loving kiss to your lips.
The kiss was short and sweet, but you could feel every ounce of love he put into it, something you’d cherish forever.
You both glanced around the backyard, looking at all the people that meant the world to you, content smiles on both of your faces as you held each other's hands. Tom’s thumb rubbing over yours as a smirk made its way onto his lips as he dragged you out to the dance floor.
You let out a laugh as he pulled you close to his chest, his arms wrapping around your waist as yours comfortably hung around his neck, your bodies swaying together. Laughter soon filled the air as everyone danced, having a blast together.
It was as if the skies cleared and the sun finally shone down on everyone.
Tom smiled down at you as you caressed his cheek lovingly.
“This is it huh?” You hummed, watching as he let out a chuckle. “Seems that way, things are only going to go up from here.” He replied happily, making you smile.
“As long as I’m with you, nothing else matters.” You murmured, his heart racing at your words as if it was the first time he heard them. “You complete me Y/N, forever and always.” He softly spoke, before pressing his lips against yours in a passionate kiss.
You eventually broke apart, your heart thumping wildly in your chest as he held you close, his eyes pouring into yours as you melted in his touch. You caressed his cheek once more, pulling him back in for a soft kiss.
“Forever and always.”
The End.

King of CSCC (Prologue)
Pairing: Rich Kid! Tom Holland x Reader
Summary: When Y/N gets a scholarship to attend Collegialiter Schola Currere Cucurri, a prestigious boarding school in England. She’s very studious and organizes, everything needs to be a certain way for her to be happy. Tom is the resident fuckboy at school and,  with his daddy being the richest man on earth, he practically owns the school. What happens when Tom falls completely in love with Y/N, but she doesn’t want to be with him because of his reputation.
Words: 2 159
Tumblr media
Y/N stands in front of the massive brick building with beautifully and neatly done cobblestone tiles on the roof. From where she stands, Y/N could see that two big towers and two smaller ones are attached to the main building of the school. To her left, a soccer field and to her right, a rugby field with an outdoor running track. Behind the soccer field, she could see a big rectangle building that, from what she read about the school, must be the school’s gymnasium. Y/N couldn’t believe that she is actually here in front of Collegialiter Schola Currer Cucurri which is Latin for something she couldn’t remember anymore. It’s the best school in the world, the only people that could attend the school are the elite, rich and famous, but once every year, the school awards a scholarship that covers everything (laundry, meal plane, books, uniform, etc) to one lucky student going into their 11th school year. The chosen student has to be the best and brightest out of all the applicants and this year, it just so happened to be Y/N L/N. She has been working her whole life for this and now her dreams for a better future are finally coming true. Her home life in Toronto wasn’t the best in terms of education. She didn’t learn enough at the public school she went to, so when she saw the opportunity to attend the most prestigious boarding school in the world, she jumped at the chance to apply. It also helped that she’s always wanted to live in England. She finally manages to shake off her nerves and walks into the school.
Upon entering the school, Y/N notices how much cleaner and how the equipment is so much better than what she had back at home. The hallways were empty seeing as it was the Saturday before school started, so she is all alone in the school. After a few minutes, she manages to find her way to the principal’s office while struggling to bring all of her bags with her at the same time. The new student gently arranges her bags near the door to make sure they are not in the way, then she lifts her hand to the door and knocks. “You may enter,” an authoritative voice instructs her. Y/N enters to see a middle-aged woman sitting at her desk looking over some documents with her glasses balancing off of her nose. The older woman looks up at the sound of the door closing and motions for Y/N to sit on one of the chairs in front of her desk, “You must be Miss. L/N, our scholarship winner.” Y/N nods her head to show her agreement, she isn’t going to lie, but she is a little intimidated by the principal. “Alright, classes start on Monday at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Miss. Daniels should already be at the front office waiting for you. She’ll be your guide for the day. Here is your schedule and some other information you might need. If you have any questions, then you may ask Miss. Daniels and I would also like to inform you that if your marks slip even by a percent that you will lose your scholarship. Is that clear?” Ms. Sinclair informs the pupil. “Yes,” Y/N answers quietly because she’s slightly terrified with how cold the principal seems. “Good, you may address me as Ms. Sinclair and nothing else. You are dismissed,” Ms. Sinclair demands. Y/N quickly gets out of her chair and goes towards the door.
Y/N grabs her bags a little bit more easily now that she knows how to handle all of them and makes her way back towards the front of the school where she saw the front office. When she gets to the front of the school, she notices a girl around her age waiting in front of the office. The teen notices Y/N approaching and immediately rushes to help her with a smile on her face.  “Hi, you must be Y/N L/N. I am Delilah Daniels and I’ll be your tour guide. I’ll give you a tour of campus, then I can help you move into your dorm if you’d like. You don’t have to worry about your bags, I’ll call the concierge to come get them and bring them to your room. Now, the first stop is going to be the science labs where you bio and chemistry,” Delilah introduces herself. Y/N notices that Delilah has a British accent that is as smooth as butter.  The girls place the bags near the entrance and shake each other’s hands, “I am Y/N. Nice to meet you. And the science lab sounds like a great start.” Delilah makes a quick call to the concierge, then they walk down the hall to the left and up the stairs to her biology lab. “Now, upstairs to the left is the science wing, so you have all the science labs up here. Your bio lab is in room 203 and your chemistry lab is in room 220,” Delilah starts off, “Let’s head over to where you are going to be taking geometry and algebra, which is on upstairs on the right side of the also known as the mathematics wing. This term you’re only taking geometry, algebra, biology, and math. Next term you’re taking media arts, English literature, French, and psychology, right?” Y/N nods along to what Delilah says, “That seems right. Your last names Daniels right? As in your parents are Anna and Maurice Daniels, Daniels? They own practically every chain hotel I can think of.” “Yep, those are my old folks. They could be a little hectic and gone, but they have always been there for me when I need them and I know they love me. That’s all that really matters, right? So what do your parents do for a living? You live in Toronto right?” Delilah questions the new girl. “Yeah, I do. My mom works as a social worker, she tries to help kids in the system. My dad is a baker, we actually live on top of the bakery he owns. My little sister and brother always like to head down to the bakery at the end of the day and steal whatever leftovers are left. Do you have any siblings?” Y/N explains. “No, I am an only child. It gets a little lonely sometimes, but that’s alright. I would love to live over a bakery! The smell of freshly baked pastries would waft into the house and it could smell like freshly baked croissants every day. The math wing is just around the corner,” Delilah rants a little as they head over to the math wing.
When they rounded the corner, two other people were rounding the corner at the same time. A collision would have happened, but Y/N’s quick reflexes stopped them from crashing. In front of the two girls were two boys about their age wearing Versace, Prada, Gucci, and some other clothing brands that Y/N could never dream about owning. The boy on the left is taller than the boy on the right, he has dirty blonde hair and clear blue eyes. He’s handsome, but the boy on the right is the show stopper for Y/N. He has dark chestnut brown hair that matches his eyes. His nose is a little cricked and his lips are a little thin, but she liked how the nose made him look rugged and how his lips still looked perfect to kiss. His jaw looks so sharp that she believes is she were to run her finger along it she would cut it. No matter how badly the young girl wanted to go on a date with him, she knew about who he is and what his reputation is. He’s the infamous Tom Holland or as the tabloids like to call him, Holland the Lady Killer. His motto is hit then quit it and that really isn’t what Y/N is looking for. “Hey, just who we were looking for! I told Haz that you’d be showing the scholar bee around the school. You’ve always loved to meet new people. Thought we’d come join you seeing as this year’s scholar bee is a female and not another boring ass dude. So does the little lady have a name?” Tom inquires slyly as he makes his way over to Delilah and slings his hand around her neck. “My names Y/N. What’s it matter to you?” She snarls not liking what he said at all. “Damn, you got a mouth on you. I like a girl who isn’t afraid to talk back. Well, I guess it’s my turn to introduce. I am Tom and this div beside me is Harrison,” Tom tries to say in the most charming voice he could. Y/N just scoffs and keeps walking, “Whatever. Nice to meet you, Harrison. Now, let’s head over to the mathematics wing.” “Looks like we finally found someone who can resist Tommy’s charm,” Haz whispers to his two comrades as they follow Y/N down the hall.
After finishing the tour of the campus, the four newly acquainted friends headed over to Y/N’s dorm so that they could help her unpack. “Okay, everything is labelled clearly so it shouldn’t be too hard trying to figure out where everything should go,” Y/N elucidates while tying her hair back and picking up one of the boxes that was labelled closet- Hoodies and Shirts. Everyone went to work on cleaning out the boxes while they worked they talked, reminisce about old stories, joked around, and listened to some music. Symphony by Clean Bandit played on her phone and Y/N started swaying to the music. “I’ve been hearing symphonies before all I heard was silence. A rhapsody for you and me, and every melody is timeless,” she sang as she organized the books onto her bookshelf. Tom looks up from the clothes he was folding for her and stares in awe of her voice. To him, she sounded like an angel and all he wanted to do is listen to her sing all day. He may not have noticed it, but the whole afternoon he found himself noticing little things that he liked about her and he just wanted to be closer to him. He liked how she had all these random facts and how she could joke about anything and everything. He liked how organized she is and how she hasn’t fawned over her this whole afternoon. Y/N places the final book onto the shelf and looks over at everyone, “Alright, I can finish putting the clothes away after dinner. Why don’t we get something to eat? I read on the board that it’s taco night.” Everyone voiced their agreement and started to make their way over to the door, but before Y/N could leave, Tom gently tapped her on the shoulder and asked if he could talk to her. “Sure,” she tells him. Tom stands straight and fixes his jacket nervously, “I was wondering if we could restart. I know, I was a jackass, but I would really like to be friends with you. Plus, I know you, Deli, and Haz get along well and I really don’t feel like being kicked out of my own friend group.” Y/N smiles at Tom to show him that everything is alright. “Tommy, it's fine. Sometimes people start off on the wrong foot and that’s fine. Let’s start, over. Hey, I am Y/N. I don’t believe I got your name,” Y/N says nicely as she sticks her hand out for Tom to shake. He chuckles and takes her hand, “It’s Tom, Tom Holland. You may have heard of me. My dad owns the world’s best phone company as well as several other companies you may have heard of.” “Okay, now you just sound like cocky. How about we just head over to the mess hall and call it a day?” Y/N suggest as how she links their arms and walks off to the mess hall.
When dinner was over, Y/N was feeling a little jet-lagged so she headed back to her dorm to get some sleep while the other three decided to head to the game room. They were playing pool when Harrison decided to bring up the conversation. “So you and Y/N…” he wonders out loud as he aims the queue at one of the balls. Tom leans on the wall and retorts, “Nothing is going on between us. We are just friends that’s all.” Delilah snorts and laughs, “Yeah, right! I noticed your side glances at her, but I’ll let you deny whatever you want if it helps you sleep at night.” Tom just shakes his and continues the game without mentioning Y/N again, but that night when he was trying to get to sleep all he could do was think back to the conversation they had in the game room and Y/N’s angelic singing voice.

Coffee Shop: Chapter 1
Fuckboy Tom AU!! TomHollandxReader
Summary: You and Tom meet :-)
Word Count: 2643
Warnings: Swearing, mentions of sex
A/N: I couldn’t wait, so here’s Chapter 1
(Y/H/C): your hair color
(Y/E/C): your eye color
Between your work as a personal assistant, working on movie sets, you spent your free time sketching and writing about the people you encountered in your local coffee shop, just a ten minute walk from your small apartment. Whenever you weren't on some movie set, you were usually here, hiding away in the corner, observing others, creating your own narratives of other people’s lives based on their appearances, how rushed they seemed, and what they wore. You found that this little hobby, with your personal assistant job, allowed for good practice and exposure for your dream to work in the movie industry, writing scripts and screenplays for huge movies, maybe direct your own short film. You were just getting prepared for a movie you’d be soon leaving in about three weeks for; your biggest job yet. You were hired for a new Marvel movie, though you had no idea for who exactly you’d be a personal assistant to. You heard that it was common within Marvel Studios; you didn’t always know exactly who you working with. Secrecy was huge. You even had to sign confidentiality contracts in order to be officially hired. You had issues with the people you dated in the past. To them, you were a damaged good, all because of an incident that happened to you that still struggle to talk about. For a no name dreaming to work big time, you felt pretty content; with your simple life in the city, in your cosy apartment, hobbies, traveling for work every so often.
Today was no different. You sat in your usual spot by the window in the crowded coffee shop, people watching, sketching, as busy people bustled in and out of the store. As per usual, at this hour, the coffee shop was packed, every table filled with usual patrons. As you worked on a sketch of bearded man with a briefcase, you barely noticed the very attractive man who stood in front of you, until he spoke.
“Hello, this seat taken?” he asked in a British accent.
You look up, taken aback by the sudden distraction, and oh boy, was he a distraction. He had tousled brown curly hair and a warm look to him that was so welcoming. You sit there gaping at him, both surprised by the sudden interruption and his good looks, unrealizing of his question.
“Sorry, I don’t mean to be a bother,” he said, wrongfully reading your expression. “The place is packed. I was just wondering if I could take a seat here,” he repeats, gesturing towards the chair sitting across the table from you, with your backpack and coat resting on it.
You shake your head out of your daze, waving your permission with your hand. He hands you your backpack, which you promptly place on the floor by your feet.
“Thank you,” he chuckled. “My name is Tom, and yours?”
“(Y/N),” you quip, a smile growing on your face.
He reaches his hand out for an amicable handshake. “It’s nice to meet you, (Y/N).”
Tom wasn’t about sitting and chatting about his life to an absolute stranger. In fact, his initial plan was to be in and out with the headache he had. But once he got there, the soft music with the chatter of people coming in and out of the busy coffee shop lulled his sharp headache to a dull ache. No one recognized him yet, and that in itself was a good sign that he wasn’t going to be mobbed by fans. Though the place was packed, it was only filled with soft chatter from the patrons sitting at tables and scattered sofas and loveseats placed around the warm environment. Every table was full, every seat taken except for one. The seat sat across from the pretty little number with her head bent over a tiny journal, her brows furrowed as she worked. She was a usual at this coffee shop, Tom had seen her in the few times he had dropped in. She was pretty in the best way, her long hair long and full, eyes large and focused. This in itself was inviting enough, and though it was only about ten in the morning, maybe he’d have a new partner to take up to his apartment that night, depending on how things went and how well he could charm her. “So whaddya working on there?” Tom asked, taking a sip of his coffee.
You smiled a private smile to yourself, before packing a few of your colored pencils away. “It’s kind of a private thing,” you replied with a smile, continuing to write a description of your latest sketch for a narrative for later.
Tom chuckled. “Don’t you know that’s only going to make me more intrigued? I’m sure whatever it is, it’s quite intriguing.”
You shrug, another smile growing across your face. “Hm, I don’t know, sharing my secrets with a stranger? I don’t think so.”
It was Tom’s turn to shrug with a smile. “Fair enough. Are you from around here? I’ve seen you a fair amount of times here.”
You nod, taking a sip from your coffee. “I live just a bit that way,” you say nonchalantly, gesturing in the general direction of your apartment building, though it was clearly visible from where you sat. “But I don’t believe I’ve seen you around here as much.”
Tom settles further in his seat. “Yeah, just decided to swing by. I live over that way too,” he pointed in the same general direction. “Had a headache earlier, decided to stop for a coffee, came in, had a bit of my fix, decided to hang for a bit.”
You smile. “Yeah, I get it. The atmosphere of this place, even when it’s busy, is pretty calming. It’s my favorite spot in the city.” You weren’t sure why you offered that last gratuitous bit, often you weren’t a fan of sharing your life story with a complete stranger, but here you were.
“I can see why. You’ve got a good view from here,” he replied.
Smiling, you glance out the window, studying the view like you were seeing it again for the first time. “Yeah, I really do,” you say softly.
Though Tom’s first and only mindset when talking to anyone of the opposite sex was to only bone them, with no strings attached and barely any information exchanged, he found that for the first time, real interest was sparked; something he hasn’t felt in a while. Alarms rang in his head, don’t let anyone in, don’t let them get close to him. The less they know, the less they felt attached to him. That was the rule of his game since his last relationship with the girl he can barely name to this day, since he came home after wrapping Homecoming. There was something about this little (Y/H/C) haired, (y/e/c) eyed girl bent over her notebook and her soft voice that was endearing to him.
You brushed the hair out of your eyes before loosely fastening your long hair into a bun in the back of your head with two of your pencils in lieu of a hair elastic, making Tom’s heart flutter a little. He barely knew anything about you, but somehow, his instinct is to do the exact opposite of his usual, which is kind of really alarming to him. He suddenly realizes that he’s more intrigued and his mind focuses on the sound of your soft gentle voice and melodic laugh, and he that he was in deep shit trouble.
He clears his throat. “Um, so what do you do for a living?”
You bite your lip slightly before taking another sip of your coffee. “I uh,” you hesitate, wondering how much of yourself you allow for this stranger to know. “Well, I just graduated from university, I’m currently working as a personal assistant for small time movies, you know, just getting exposure in the industry?”
Tom nods. “Yeah I get you.”
“And you?”, you ask.
It’s Tom’s turn to hesitate. A voice in his head urged him to just come out with exactly who he was, a big name actor, made famous by Marvel Cinematic Universe and his role as Spider-man, but an even louder voice told him that he should keep it under wraps, in fear of scaring you off or allowing you to know too much, as you obviously didn’t recognize him. “I actually work in the industry too, just an extra in a few movies.” There. That wasn’t a complete lie. And if she’s working small time, what are the odds of them running into each other? The odds were slim to nonexistent, especially since he was a huge movie star.
“Great, then we can learn a little bit from each other for our own careers,” you smiled, your hands fiddling with one of your colored pencils, flipping it through your fingers nimbly.
Tom nodded in agreement, sipping his coffee, a heavy yet comfortable silence settling over both of you.
As the morning shifted into noon, you found yourselves further intrigued by each other, quietly laughing in comfortable conversation, and making a deal to meet the following day at the same spot.
Following your first meeting in the coffee shop, Tom slunk back to his apartment, feeling thrilled at meeting you, but filled with heavy dread. Though you seemed smart and engaging and hot, Tom knew that meeting with you the next day allowed for more chances for someone, pretty much a stranger, to get closer to him than he ever would have wanted. It was terrifying. Unlocking the door to his apartment, he bustles in, hangs his coat over the back of his chair, and decides he’s going to get shit-faced drunk once again and probably-most likely, bring another woman home to remind him of his pact to himself to keep himself busy and distracted from you, from his fears. He pulled his phone out of his pocket. After thumbing his screen briefly, he called up his best mate, Harrison, and arranged for them to meet at his apartment, and then hit up a their bars.
You on the other hand, were exhilarated at your meeting, looking forward to the next day. You left a little bit after he did, around late afternoon, after making small talk with Ms. Phillips, the old owner of the coffee shop, kind of like a mother away from home, as you helped her stack coffee mugs and sweep up a little.
“So that young man,” Ms. Phillips asks suggestively. “He was handsome.”
You laugh politely. “Yeah he was. Just a little closed off is all.”
She nods with a small laugh. “Don’t be so surprised, after all, you just met. But be careful young lady, boys like that might have a side you never imagined.”
“I’ll be careful, Ms. Phillips,” you roll your eyes playfully. “I just think he makes nice conversation.” You stack one last mug and pick your backpack off a nearby table. “It was nice chatting with you, Ms. Phillips, but I should get going before it gets too late. I’ll see you tomorrow!”
She waves politely as you leave and you walk the block to your apartment building. You hit the elevator up button and step in as they glide humming to yourself.
“Hey!!! Hold that door!” a voice calls from the entrance to your building.
You instinctively jam your foot in the door of the elevator before it slid shut, and the blond boy jogs his way over to avoid keeping you waiting. Correction, the very cute blond boy.
“Thanks for grabbing the door,” he smiles, taking his place next to you. He has a similar accent to Tom’s, and his eyes are very blue.
“It was no problem,” you smile amicably. “Floor?” you ask, your hand hovering over the button panel.
“Fifth,” he replied curtly as you immediately hit the button. “Thank you,” he smiles.
“Are you new here?” You ask, obviously not recognizing him.
He shakes his head. “Nah, just visiting a friend.”
You both stood in silence, taking each other in on your way up before the elevator stops at your floor. “Well this is my stop,” you say, turning to wave, but this time, his foot catches the door.
“Maybe I’ll see you around?” the blond asked hopefully. “I didn’t catch your name, sorry about that.”
“It’s (y/n),” you smile. “And yours?”
“Harrison. Harrison Osterfield” he smiles, his foot still holding the elevator door open.
“Well, you know where to find me, Harrison,” you smile. “See you around.” and with that, you turn towards your apartment and settle for the night.
Tom opened his apartment door to a very happy looking Harrison. There was an unsettling satisfied smirk across his friend’s face that he knew Harrison rarely had across his face in Tom’s presence, especially in the wake of Tom’s recent behaviors and mishaps.
“So what’s got you so happy, mate?” Tom asked his friend while Harrison got situated at Tom’s kitchen table.
Harrison shrugged, not wanting to spill the beans on the pretty girl he had met just moments before. “I just met someone on her way up. I think I’m going to try to get to know her.”
Tom let out a little chuckle. “She got a name?”
“Well yeah, but I think I’m just gonna mums it until I know it can get somewhere,” Harrison replies breezily.
Tom nodded. He got that. He didn’t exactly want to tell Harrison about the girl he had met that morning in the coffee shop that got his whole head in a tizzy. “Listen mate, I just need to have some guy time, you know. Just hit a few bars, maybe.”
“Okay, mate, I’m down,” Harrison replied, his voice tinged with slight annoyance. He knew how this night was about to end. It usually involved Tom almost piss drunk, hitting it off with a girl, and Harrison returning home by himself, and Tom with a new lady friend. Although Tom’s main objective of the night was to get drunk and then laid promptly afterwards, you lingered on his mind. As soon as they got to their first bar of the night, this became evident to Harrison as Tom ignored the first girl who made a move on him.
“Hey mate what’s going on?” Harrison asked his friend as Tom sipped on his first beer of the night, which in itself was unlike him. He was usually almost on his ass drunk
Tom shrugged.
“You met someone didn’t ya, mate? Who is she?” Harrison pressed.
Tom shrugged again, once more failing to notice the suggestive stares directed towards him from the pretty brunette sitting a little ways away. “I don’t really know. Just some girl in the coffee shop that I met this morning.”
Harrison looked at his friend in shock. “This must have been some girl,” he replied, smiling. You must have been something if you got this kind of reaction out of Tom Holland of all people. “Has she got a name?”
“Don’t be dim. Of course she does.”
“So what is it?” Harrison asked, nudging his friend’s side.
“I don’t really want to talk about it. Got me feeling fucked up,” Tom said, keeping his eyes on his bottle.
“Some girl, then huh?” Harrison smiles, waggling his brows at Tom.
Tom shook his head, lifting his eyes from his drink, finally seeing the brunette girl sitting across the bar. “Maybe,” was his reply. In truth, he was terrified of you. Not for your soft eyes and gentle smile, but for how easily his guard came down when talking to you. That hasn’t happened with anyone for almost two years, and it was terrifying and exhilarating since he wrapped the filming for Spider-man. Getting with this girl sending him the flirty stares will remind him of why he does what he does. He needs this. He takes a large swig of his beer, guzzling it until it was empty, before ordering another, and making his way to the leggy brunette with the suggestive eyes.

You sat on the edge of your bed, blankets hanging off the mattress, tears rimming your eyes as you stared blankly at the floor. The only thing making a sound was your heart thumping wildly in your ears. Your hands were as cold as ice, but you barely even noticed, your whole body being completely numb, even though your mind knew you were shaking.
The sound of a door opening and slamming shut filled your ears, footsteps making their way down towards your room, before your bedroom door swung open. Madison’s concerned expression contorted into one of worry, her eyes raking in your shutdown appearance.
“Y/N.. What’s going on? I got here as quick as I could.” Madison spoke quietly, making her way over towards you, as she knelt down in front of you. “I can’t help you if you won’t tell me what’s wrong.” She stated, raising a brow as you blinked a few times, your blurry eyes flickering to hers.
“It’s my father..” You whispered, a tear slipping down your cheek as your eyebrows scrunched together, “H-He’s in the hospital..” You paused, your throat aching as you tried to hold back your sobs, “He had a h-heart attack Mads, t-they don’t know i-if he’ll make it.” You choked out, unable to hold back any longer, a waterfall of tears streaming down your cheeks.
Madison’s eyes widened, her face falling at the news about your father, her heart aching for you. She knew how much he meant to you, he was, is, your only parental figure you had left.
“I should have known something was wrong Mads, I should’ve known.” You cried into her shoulder, her arms wrapped around your crumbling figure. “Don’t do that Y/N, you can’t blame yourself for not knowing.” Madison tried to reason with you, she wouldn’t let you blame yourself for something you had no control of, let alone knowledge of.
“I should’ve called him the second the payment for school stopped, it was a sign, and I ignored it.” You sobbed, your eyes now red and puffy as you looked at her. “Y/N, take a deep breath, please.” Madison whispered, a sorrow expression on her face as you inhaled and exhaled a breath, your body growing tired.
“Why don’t I take you to the hospital so you can see him.” Madison offered as you nodded your head slowly in response. You stood up, grabbing a hoodie off your bed, which was actually Tom’s hoodie, but in the current moment you didn’t even realize, too focused on putting on your boots that kept your feet warm. You both exited your room, Madison pulling out her car keys, the sound capturing Jacob’s attention, causing him to look up.
“Madison?” He questioned, grabbing her attention as she turned her head to look at him. “What’re you doing here?” He questioned, confusion written all over his face. “Y/N called me.” She stated vaguely, glancing over at you as you made your way in front of her, your eyes flickering over towards Jacob.
“Oh my god, Y/N, are you okay? What’s wrong?” Jacob immediately questioned the second he saw you walk into his line of sight. You let out a sniffle, a tear trickling down your now splotchy cheeks. “My father is in the hospital, he had a heart attack.” You spoke quietly, your voice monotone, scaring Jacob slightly at how emotionless you sounded.
He didn’t know what to say, he knew you were falling apart on the inside, he knew how important your father was to you. His heart broke for you, remembering the day where you opened up with him and told him about your mother passing away. Now here he was, witnessing you go through it all over again, but this time it was so much worse.
“I’m taking Y/N to the hospital, you’re welcome to join us there.” Madison offered as Jacob nodded silently, before Madison motioned for you to go ahead of her, exiting the apartment.
Jacob chewed on his lower lip anxiously, pacing around the kitchen as he tossed his phone back and forth between his hands, debating on whether or not to call Tom. He knew things were complicated between the two of you at the moment, but this was serious.
He let out a breath, pulling up Tom’s contact name, about to press the call button when he heard keys jingling and the main door opening once more. Tom and Harrison’s voices filling his ears. Now not only did he have to tell Tom, but he had to tell Harrison too.
“Jacob! Mate! Are you home?” Tom called out, removing his coat as Harrison kicked his shoes off, trailing behind Tom. “Kitchen!” Jacob called back, swallowing nervously as he ran his hand across his forehead, going to the fridge to retrieve a bottle of water.
“Hey man.” Tom greeted, entering the kitchen, Harrison walking beside him as Jacob smiled. “Hey guys,” He nodded his head towards the both of them, taking a swig of the cool liquid, “How’re you doing Haz?” Jacob asked, wanting to try to get his mind off of you and everything going on.
“Honestly, I’m already doing much better.” Harrison admitted, a faint smile on his lips as Tom patted his back. “As much as I hate going there, it really does help me, I can just vent their and it makes me feel so much better.” Harrison smiled softly, fiddling with his fingers.
“I also got medication prescribed to me today, my therapist says that’ll help keep me stable, and my psychiatrist agreed with her.” Harrison added on, his eyes a bit brighter as both Tom and Jacob smiled.
“That’s great man.” Jacob smiled, as Tom grinned at his friend. “I’m so proud of you mate, you’ve come such a long way.” Tom congratulated him, giving him a hug as Harrison chuckled at the gesture.
“Thanks guys.. I really do owe it all to you.. And Y/N.” Harrison smiled, his voice a bit quieter when he said your name. He knew bringing you up was a risky move, but it was true, he really did owe you one.
“Speaking of Y/N, where is she?” Tom spoke up, his brows furrowing as he crossed his arms, glancing down the hall to see your door open. It struck him as unusual, it was a Saturday night, you had told him earlier that you had homework that you needed to get done. Plus, you had also agreed to wanting to have a movie night with him, but now, you were nowhere to be seen.
“Jacob?” Tom pressed, turning his gaze to his other roommate, his eyes narrowing slightly as Jacob let out a defeated sigh. “Alright, if I tell you guys, promise me you’ll handle it professionally.” Jacob started, giving both of them a serious expression as they both nodded in response, their attention solely focused on Jacob.
“Y/N’s father had a heart attack, she’s at the hospital right now with Mackenzie.” Jacob spoke cautiously, noticing their expressions fall immediately. “Is she okay?” Harrison breathed out, a worried expression on his face as Tom stood in silence.
“I’m not going to lie to you guys, she’s broken, I’m not sure if she’s going to be able to overcome this, especially if he doesn’t make it.” Jacob admitted, another sigh escaping his lips as he rubbed his chin.
“Then we need to be there for her, now more than ever.” Tom insisted, pulling his keys back out and heading right for the door, grabbing his coat along the way. Harrison gave Jacob a questioning glance, but let it go, quickly going to put his shoes on as Jacob shut the door behind him.
They weren’t going to let you go through this alone.
- ❁ -
You had gotten to the hospital ten minutes ago, and now you were stuck in the waiting room. You couldn’t sit still, your foot tapping against the white tiled floor, your eyes constantly flickering to every spot in the room while you anxiously chewed on your thumb nail.
Madison glanced over at you, her eyes full of worry, she had never seen you like this before. The only time in her entire life that she had ever seen you upset was during school when you had slept through your alarm and missed class, and then.. With Tom.
She cleared her throat, capturing your attention as you looked over at her, a brow raised. “I know this is the absolute worst time to bring this up, but I just really need to get his off my chest.” She paused, taking a breath as her nerves increased, causing your heart to sink even further down into your stomach. “About Tom?” You spoke quietly, your voice hoarse from crying so much.
You knew you were going to have to have this conversation eventually.
“Yeah.. About Tom.” She nodded, her voice quiet like yours as she focused on her hands. “What I did Y/N.. I know it’s fucked up, it’s haunted me since the day it happened.” She sniffled, the guilt overwhelming her as your face softened.
“I don’t know what came over me that night, I had gone out to a party with Abby and Scarlet, we were having fun, drinking and dancing, and then next thing I know I’m with Tom in the apartment, and then after that it’s all a blur.” Madison explained, the memories flooding her head, tears trickling down her cheeks.
“When I woke up the next morning I was so confused, until I saw him laying next to me, I felt horrible Y/N, I still do.” She choked out, wiping away the tears on her face.
“I betrayed you, I went behind your back and hooked up with your roommate when you told me not to.” She ranted, her breathing becoming heavier the more she spoke. You placed your hand on her arm, causing her to look up at you.
You gave her a weak smile, “I know,” You whispered, watching another tear slip down her cheek. “You should hate me.” She whispered, tears rimming her eyes once more as you frowned at her words. “I could never hate you,” You shook your head, holding her hand tightly, “You’re my best friend.” You sighed, as she let out a broken laugh.
“Yeah.. A best friend that hurt you.” She sniffled, guilt still eating away at her. “Yeah, you did, but I know you regret doing it, and that’s what matters.” You explained, as she gave you a questionable look.
“I forgive you Mads.” You mumbled, a faint smile on your lips as she gave you one back, before she engulfed you in a tight hug. “I love you so much Y/N, I don’t think I could ever go through not speaking to you ever again.” Madison spoke into your shoulder, giving you one more squeeze before letting go.
“I agree, there’s so much that has happened that I need to catch you up on.” You confessed, twiddling your fingers nervously. “Spill.” Madison stated, sitting up straighter in her chair, facing you directly as a sigh escaped your lips. “I’ll start from where I left off with you last.”
For the next hour or so you told Madison everything, you told her about your dates with Harrison, and how much of a gentleman he was and how he always made you feel so special.
However, you then did a complete one eighty and told her about how Tom had to save you from Harrison, and how he had gotten violent. You then went on to tell her about your feelings towards Tom, and how you ended up sleeping with him, but what really got her was when you told her that Tom confessed his feelings to you.
“I am feeling so many emotions right now, I’m unable to process this Y/N.” Madison spoke, her eyes closed as she rose her hands up in front of her face, her face scrunching up slightly. “I’m just going to unleash everything.” She nodded her head, more so talking to herself than you, before she reopened her eyes, seeing an amused smile on your face.
She took a deep breath, before her eyes widened, “I can’t believe you and Tom fucked!” She exclaimed, whacking your arm as you pouted at her in response, whilst shushing her. “Like I knew you guys would eventually because the sexual tension you both had for one another was intense, and it still is.” Madison winked, causing your face to heat up.
“How was he? Everything you dreamed of?” Madison grinned, wiggling her eyebrows at you as your eyes widened, your mouth becoming dry. “I-I mean..” You stammered, your face bright like a red tomato. “Oh shit, he really did a number on you, he’s got you speechless.” Madison smirked, a brow raising on her forehead as you choked on air.
“It was just that good.” You confessed, your words coming out a bit mumbled, you were already embarrassed beyond belief, so you decided you might as well be honest. “It’s like he knew my body more than I knew it myself, he knew exactly what to do to make me putty in his hands.” You licked your lip, heat radiating off your face the more you spoke.
“He has some magical hands, and his mouth..” You shut your eyes, reminiscing in that moment, before Madison hit your shoulder, causing you to whine and rub it. “I regret ever bringing up your sex life.” She groaned, a teasing smile on her face, before it turned serious.
You knew immediately by the look on her face that she was pissed, which could only mean one thing for the next topic of discussion.
“The next time I see that British blonde haired boy I’m going to kill him.” She seethed, her eyes narrowed as she clenched her jaw. “What he did to you deserves my foot up his ass and my hands around his throat.” She snarled, her eyes becoming a darker shade as you sat quietly, letting her vent out all her rage towards Harrison.
You began to zone out her ranting, a bad habit that you’d grown accustomed to from your late night classes when your professor wouldn’t stop talking. Your eyes focused once more around the waiting room, until your eyes flickered over towards the main entrance of the room, the light brown wooden door opening.
The second you saw the familiar brown curls you felt your heart skip a beat, your eyes softening as they locked with your favorite chocolate brown ones. However, your expression faltered slightly when you saw who followed behind him.
Harrison.
Realization dawned on you immediately, your head snapping over to Madison who was already sending daggers towards Harrison. Her jaw was clenched, hands balled up into fists as Tom glanced between you and Madison, before looking at Harrison, his eyes widening when he made the connection.
Tom motioned for Jacob to move in front of Harrison, Madison instantly standing up, storming over to the three of them. “You’re so dead Osterfield.” She growled, trying to shove past Tom as she attempted to swing at Harrison’s face.
“Tom! Let me go! Right now!” Madison shouted, squirming in his grasp as she continued to fight against him. “Look, I know you’re mad-” Tom started to explain, but got caught off by Madison elbowing him in the stomach, causing him to groan.
“I’m not mad, I’m pissed as hell!” She seethed, attempting to swing at Harrison once again, only to let out a loud frustrated scream, her viewpoint now on Jacob’s and Harrison’s shoes.
You smiled in amusement as you saw Tom holding Madison over his shoulder, her body flailing in an attempt to get out of his arms. Tom glanced over towards you, a smile forming on his lips when he saw you were already staring at him.
He was so whipped for you.
Tom quickly refocused though, due to Madison squirming around more frantically, his grip tightening around her waist. You continued to watch the incident going on in front of you, the sight of Madison fighting against Tom making you forget why you were at the hospital in the first place.
Jacob on the other hand continued to stand in front of Harrison, a concerned expression on his face as he watched Madison carefully.
Harrison however knew why she was acting the way she was towards him. He didn’t blame her for being angry, for wanting to get some kind of justice for you. What he had done to you was unforgivable, he knew that, and he hated himself for even laying a hand on someone as sweet and innocent as you.
Harrison couldn’t help but glance over towards you, a painful expression washing over his face. You deserved so much joy and happiness in your life, not all this darkness and pain.
His eyes flickered back over towards Tom, his brow raising as he noticed Madison had finally calmed down.
“You good now?” Tom questioned as Madison mumbled something in response, as Tom set her back on her feet. She gave Harrison another glare, causing him to swallow nervously before she turned on her heel to go back to you.
You have her a small smile as she sat down next to you, silence falling over the room once more as Tom, Harrison, and Jacob sat down as well. The tension between everyone was thick, nobody daring to break the thin ice.
The silence was soon disrupted by the sound of a knob turning, this time the other door in the room opening, the doctor, James, stepping into the room.
“Y/N, may I speak with you for a moment?” James questioned, his eyes glancing around the room for a split second as you nodded in response, standing up from your seat and heading out to the hallway with him.
“How is he? Is he going to be alright?” You bombarded him with questions before he could even shut the door. Your eyes were full of worry with a mixture of hope, your hands clammy as you anxiously rubbed them together.
Dr. James stayed silent for a moment, his eyes softening as he let out a breath, his expression falling. “Y/N, there’s never an easy way to say this, but, your father.. We did everything we could.. But there’s nothing more we can do.” He explained carefully, his heart breaking at your broken expression.
“N-No.. You’re lying! Y-You’re supposed to help him!” You cried out, tears streaming down your flushed cheeks as you shook your head in denial. “What kind of doctors are you!” You scream cried at him, your voice loud enough that everyone could hear you in the waiting room.
“Y/N.. There’s only so much we can do in these situations.” Dr. James tried to explain, a worried expression on his face as you were having a complete meltdown right in front of him.
“I’m so sorry.” He whispered, hesitantly placing his hand on your shoulder as you sobbed, your hands covering your mouth as he walked you back into the waiting room. Everyone's heads snapped over towards you immediately, their eyes widening at your shattered figure.
“Oh Y/N.” Madison mumbled, tears rimming her eyes as Tom instantly stood up, engulfing your fragile body in his arms. His hands stroked your hair and back soothingly as he pressed a kiss to your head.
Harrison however couldn’t take his eyes off the way Tom was comforting you. His brows furrowed slightly, a pang of jealousy and hurt stinging his heart.
He turned to look at Jacob who gave him a sad smile, as if answering the question he was already thinking. He gave a slight nod in response, before refocusing on you.
He needed to know, he needed to hear it from you.
Hesitantly Harrison rose up from his chair, slowly making his way over towards you and Tom. He placed one of his hands on Tom’s shoulder, grabbing his attention.
“Do you mind if I uh.. Talk to Y/N for a moment?” Harrison questioned, his voice quiet as Tom chewed on his bottom lip for brief moment. “It’s alright Tom.” You mumbled into his chest, pulling away gently as you wiped your cheeks.
“Are you sure?” Tom questioned, his words coming out more as a mumble as he cupped your face in his hands. You gave a slight nod, placing your hand on his, before motioning Harrison towards the door to talk in the hallway.
You made your way over towards the door, Harrison following behind you, closing the door once you two were alone in the hallway.
You both stood in front of one another, an awkward silence between the two of you until Harrison cleared his throat, causing you to look up at him.
“I’m really sorry about your father Y/N..” Harrison whispered, breaking the silence as you nodded your head, not daring to speak because you knew if you did you’d start crying.
He sucked on his bottom lip, shifting a bit as he let out a sigh, fiddling with his fingers as he looked down at his shoes.
“There’s no easy way to say this, and I know this couldn’t be worse timing, but, Harrison pauses, licking his lips nervously as he glanced back up at you, locking eyes with you, “Is there something going on between you and Tom?” He questioned, his heart beating a bit faster as he watched your eyes widen slightly, taken back by his question.
That right there gave him his answer.
He felt his heart plummet to the bottom of his stomach, a pained expression on his face as he sucked in a breath.
“I-I’m so sorry Haz.” You whispered, tears rimming your eyes once more as you hesitantly grabbed his hand. “It’s okay.” He tried to reassure you, giving you a forced smile. “He’s better for you anyways.” Harrison spoke quietly, a slight frown on his lips as he played with your fingers.
You shook your head, not believing his words, “No. No, it’s not okay Haz, I-I cheated on you with Tom, and that’s not okay.” You sniffled, wiping a tear off your cheek as Harrison sniffled also.
“Yeah.. Well.. Cheating is nothing compared to what I did to you.” Harrison frowned as you squeezed his hand gently. “Neither of those things are okay.” You stated quietly, frowning at him.
“But, you’re getting the help you need, and I’m telling you the truth about what happened between Tom and I.” You spoke calmly, looking at him sadly as he nodded his head slowly.
“I guess we’re both even in doing fucked up things huh?” Harrison questioned as you took a deep breath. “I guess you could say that, I think yours is a bit more extreme though.” You admitted as Harrison nodded in agreement.
“Yeah.. What I did to you is beyond words,” He paused, looking down at your hands, “I really am sorry Y/N.” He sniffled, a tear slipping down his cheek. “I know you are Haz, I know.” You whispered, wiping the tear off his cheek with your thumb.
You knew that the Harrison that hurt you wasn’t him, that that was a broken boy that was lashing out in the only way he knew how. The real Harrison was the boy you met in the line to get a cup of coffee, the boy that bought you breakfast so you wouldn’t be late to class.
That was the Harrison you knew and loved.
You gave him a faint smile, as he gave you a sad one in return.
“I think we both know what’s the best choice for us.” Harrison whispered sadly, his heart aching knowing he had to let you go. “I know..” You spoke quietly, a frown on your lips as you wrapped your arms around his waist, a tear slipping down your cheek.
You hated that you had to break up with Harrison, but you both knew it was for the best. “Thank you for believing in me.” Harrison whispered into your hair, a tear trickling down his cheek as he pressed a soft kiss to your hair, causing you to let a few more tears fall. “I’ll always believe in you Haz, always.” You sniffled, before pulling back, giving him another sad smile.
Harrison cleared his throat, wiping away the few tears off his cheeks with his sleeves. You inhaled a deep breath, a wave of tiredness overwhelming you, causing you to lose balance for a split second.
Harrison quickly caught you, his hands on your waist, a concerned expression washing over his features. “Y/N are you alright? Do you need to sit down?” He questioned, his eyes scanning over your face, taking in how pale you got all of a sudden.
“I don’t feel good.” You admitted, your brows furrowing as you held your head. Harrison saw a nurse walking down another hallway, causing his brows to lift up. “Excuse me! Miss!” He called, waving at her as she began walking towards the two of you.
“Yes? What can I help you two with?” She questioned, looking at Harrison before her eyes fell upon you.
“Oh. Sweetheart.” She gasped softly, seeing how pale you looked. “How about we go get you checked out, make sure everything is okay? Is that alright with you?” The nurse asked you, her voice calm, comforting as you nodded your head in response.
“I’ll bring her back once we know she’s alright.” The nurse told Harrison, a soft smile on her lips as she wrapped an arm around your shoulder, helping you down to another room. Harrison watched you disappear around the corner, his bottom lip between his teeth, a nervous feeling washing over him.
He let out a breath, jumping up and down a few times, shaking his arms before straightening his posture and heading back into the waiting room. All eyes immediately landed on him, confused expressions on all their faces.
“Where’s Y/N?” Tom questioned, his heart starting to race as Harrison cleared his throat. “Y/N wasn’t feeling well so a nurse took her to check to make sure she’s alright.” Harrison explained, walking back over to his chair.
“How long will that be?” Madison added on, brows raised as Harrison shrugged his shoulders. “No clue.” He replied, before pulling his phone out, leaving Tom and Madison frustrated.
You on the other hand had just gotten your blood drawn for a few tests. You sat on the examination table, your legs swinging back and forth as you waited for the doctor to come back.
The room was quiet, the only noise filling your ears was the sound of the paper crinkling beneath you whenever you moved. You weren’t sure how long you had been waiting already, it felt like eternity, and you knew you didn’t have time to just sit around and do nothing.
You were about to jump down from the table when the sound of the door opening caught your attention. Your head snapped over to see the doctor walking in, a clipboard in his hand.
“Ah, hello Y/N, my name is Steve,” He began, introducing himself as he took a few steps in the room, but you were quick to cut him off, “Am I going to be alright?” You blurted out, unable to stop yourself, your cheeks heating up as he let out a chuckle.
He set the clipboard down on the counter, a warm smile on his face. “Yes. You’re going to be alright.” He confirmed, making you let out a breath of relief. “The tests showed that you were very dehydrated, which could have caused you to stumble a bit, and you were on the verge of becoming malnourished, which is why you were starting to feel sick.” Dr. Steve explained, lifting up one of the papers on the clipboard as he spoke.
“Overall, the good news is you and your baby are still healthy and in good shape, you just need to make sure your keeping enough food and liquids in your body alright?” He spoke sternly, wanting to get his point across.
You however zoned out everything he said after he mentioned the word baby.
“Y/N? Did you hear me?” Dr. Steve questioned, his brows raised as your eyes widened, your heart beating rapidly in your chest. “D-Did you say baby?” You questioned, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Yes. I did.” He nodded his head, his brows furrowing as he studied your face. “I’m gathering you didn’t know due to your reaction.” He spoke softly, a smile on his lips as you blinked a few times.
“I-I’m pregnant.” You whispered a faint smile on your lips as tears rimmed your eyes for what felt like the millionth time today. “Congratulations Y/N.” Dr. Steve smiled as you placed your hand on your stomach in disbelief.
“Thank you Dr. Steve, really, thank you.” You smiled, getting down from the table, shaking his hand before you headed back to the waiting room. However, you decided to stop by a vending machine along the way to get some water and some sort of food. You were no longer eating for just yourself, but for the growing baby inside of you.
You eventually made it back to the waiting room, your eyes falling upon everyone’s anxious expressions, before your eyes flickered over towards Dr. James.
“Y/N, can I speak to you for a moment? Privately.” He motioned for you to follow him out the other door in the room. You anxiously left the waiting room once more, standing in a different hallway as you anxiously drank your water, as he let out a sigh.
“Your father is awake right now, but his body is extremely weak, we don’t think he’s going to make it through the night.” Dr. James confessed, a distraught expression washing over his features as you let out a sob.
Dr. James motioned you to follow him, leading you down another hallway until he brought you to what you assumed was your father's room.
“I’ll leave you two alone.” He gave a faint smile, placing his hand on your shoulder before walking down the hallway to another room. You took a deep breath, closing your eyes for a brief moment before entering the room.
The sight of your father being hooked up to all kinds of machines giving you flashbacks of your mother. You let out a sniffle, taking a seat in a chair next to his bed, taking his hand in yours.
His eyes opened slightly, glancing over towards you, a weak smile on his lips. “Hey lovebug.” He spoke, his voice quiet, making your heart ache. “Hey dad, h-how are you feeling?” You mumbled, wanting to be strong for him as you rested your chin on his hand as he let out a sigh.
“I feel.. Tired.” He whispered, his eyes shutting for a split second until you felt him squeeze your hand gently. “You’re really strong, you know that right?” You told him, tears falling down your cheeks, a few dropping onto his arm.
He let out a weak chuckle, “Not as strong as you bug, you’re following your dreams.” He smiled as you let out a choked sob. “How can I continue to live my dreams if you’re not here with me?” You whispered, your throat becoming sore as you were holding back more sobs.
“I’ll always be with you bug, you know that.” He reassured you, squeezing your hand once more. “It’s not fair..” You squeaked out, your vision blurry as you sniffled, “I can’t lose you too.” You cried, as you heard him sniffle as well.
“It’s the way of life Y/N..” He mumbled, turning his head to look at you, a painful expression on his face to see you so broken. “I-I know… It’s just.. It’s not fair.” You shook your head, brows furrowed as you looked up at him.
“I know bug.. I know.” He mumbled, caressing your head as he wiped away your tears with his thumb.
“How about you tell me what I’ve missed, talk to me as if we’re not in the hospital right now.” Your father suggested, hoping that it’d help take your mind off of all the pain. “Okay..” You nodded, inhaling a deep breath as you sat up straighter.
“I moved into an apartment with two guys, they’re really sweet people, I uh.. I actually like one of them if I’m being honest..” You admitted, seeing your father grin at you, making you laugh quietly.
“Is he here with you?” Your father questioned, as you nodded your head. “I already like him, the fact he’s here shows that he cares about you.” Your father smiled, as you rolled your eyes playfully.
“Yeah well.. My ex is also here.. He’s friends with the guy I live with, also the one that I like.” You confessed, a weak smile on your face as your father groaned, letting out a chuckle. “Y/N!” He smiled, rubbing his face as you smiled sheepishly.
“I’m sorry okay! I didn’t know at the time.” You defended yourself, a laugh leaving your lips as your dad shook his head in amusement at you. “Besides boys, I’m almost done with this semester of school, meaning I’ll only have one more year left until I graduate.” You proudly stated, a bright smile on your face as your father clapped.
“That’s my girl.” He grinned happily, ruffling your hair up making you swat his hand away, a pout on your lips. “You sound like you’re doing well sweetheart, I’m so proud of you.” He smiled, squeezing your hand softly as you smiled back at him.
“There is however.. One more thing I wanted to tell you..” You spoke cautiously, watching him raise a brow at you in curiosity. “I actually just found out a few minutes ago, but.. I’m pregnant.” You smiled nervously, watching his eyes widen in surprise.
“Y-You’re pregnant?” He whispered, attempting to sit up a bit more in the bed as you squeezed his hand. “Yeah dad.. I am.” You nodded your head, a soft smile on your lips as he rubbed his face with his other hand. “Well I wasn’t expecting that, that’s for sure.” He chuckled, shaking his head before glancing over at you.
“Are you mad?” You hesitantly asked, fearful of him not accepting the fact that you were going to have a baby at such a young age, you were still a college student after all. Your dad let out a sigh, shutting his eyes for a moment before reopening them and looking at you.
“How could I be mad? You’re bringing a life into this world Y/N. You’re going to be a lovely mother.” Your dad smiled at you, causing all your fears to dwindle away. “Even though I’m still in college?” You tilted your head a bit, as he chewed on his lower lip.
“I think it’s going to be challenging, but I know you’re strong, and you can handle whatever comes your way, even a baby.” He smiled, nodding his head as you leaned up and gave him a hug, a smile on your lips. “I love you so much dad, thank you.” You whispered, before pulling away.
“So who’s the father?” He questioned, raising a brow at you as you gave him another sheepish smile. “Y/N.” Your father spoke once more, narrowing his eyes at you as you fiddled with your fingers. “The father is the guy I like, my roommate.” You confessed nervously, you weren’t sure how Tom was going to take the news, you just hoped he’d feel as happy as your father did when he found out.
“I’m gathering he doesn’t know yet?” Your father spoke aloud, raising a brow at you as you shook your head ‘no.’
“I’m honestly a bit afraid to tell him.” You admitted, your eyes focused now focused on your shoes as your father let out a huff in response. “If he can’t handle the fact you’re having a baby, then he shouldn’t have gotten you pregnant.” Your father stated simply, a smug expression on his face as your eyes widened.
“Dad!” You exclaimed, laughter leaving your lips as he shrugged his shoulders. “I’m just stating the facts, young kids these days think having sex is great and all, but the second they get a girl pregnant they freak out and ditch.” Your father explained, as you listened quietly, he wasn’t wrong, you knew a few girls from school that had gotten pregnant and the guy just up and left them.
“I appreciate you looking out for me dad, but I think I’ve got a keeper.” You smiled shyly, as your father nodded his head. “I’m glad to hear that, because my girl deserves the best and only the best.” He declared, a grin on his face as he sunk back into the bed more.
“Are you okay?” You questioned immediately, reality coming back to you within a second. “I’m okay bug, like I said, I’m just really tired.” He smiled weakly at you, even though you both knew what was really happening.
He was dying.
“You know that you’re going to be okay right?” He reassured you, turning his head to look at you once more. “I don’t know dad-” You began but he rose his hand, silencing you instantly, “Y/N, you’re going to be okay. I know losing your mother at such a young age broke something within you, and now all of this is happening and it feels like you’re reliving that moment.” He gave a sad smile, as you sniffled at the memories.
“You’re a fighter, and I know that when the inevitable happens you’re going to shut down, but I want you to promise me that you won’t this time. Let people in, spend time with your boyfriend, spend your time putting all your love and energy into your baby.” He smiled softly at you, grasping your hand gently in his.
“I love you so much Y/N, and I already love my grandbaby already, so use that love, and create something wonderful, just like your mother used to.” He smiled, a tear slipping down his cheek as you let out a sob, tears falling down your cheeks as you held his hand tightly in yours.
But then it was as if time froze, the sound of a single beep going through the room, the noise you knew all too well.
You lifted your head up, your face scrunched up in pain as you saw the line on the machine flat. You shook your head, denial creeping in as you stared at your father. His eyes were shut, his hand still in yours, but his body no longer moved with life.
“Dad..” You choked out, shaking his hand a bit, trying to get him to open his eyes, but you knew he wouldn’t, and that’s what killed you, you knew he was gone.
Tears were streaming down your cheeks uncontrollably, your heart broken to the point where your body physically felt the aching pain. The doctors came in a few moments after, telling you to say your last goodbyes, which was the hardest thing you’d ever done. You told him you loved him, and promised him you’d do what he said, before exiting the room, watching the doctors remove him from the room.
Your body shook with sobs, you could barely stand you were crying so hard, you just lost the last family you had left. There was one thing that put you a little bit at ease though, when you looked at your father for the last time, you couldn’t help but notice how peaceful he looked, not an ounce of him looked like he was in pain.
A part of you felt like he just needed to get everything off his chest to you, to express how much he loved you and how proud he was of you, that way he could be at peace and move on to reunite with your mother.
At least, that’s what you believed.
You slowly began your way back down towards the waiting room, eventually making it there and opening the door slowly. Everyone stood up instantly when they saw you walk into the room, their arms wrapping around you as you cried your heart out.
Their hearts broke for you, they knew this was an extremely hard situation for you to go through once more, but this time instead of you being alone, you had them to comfort you in the time of need.
You weren’t sure how long you stood there in their arms, but eventually your cries dwindled down, you were fairly certain it was because you ran out of tears, having cried so much in one day.
You felt exhausted, the only thing you wanted to do now was go get some food, and go to sleep, but you knew you couldn’t do that yet, not when you had a secret nobody knew about yet.
Tom couldn’t help but notice the way you zoned out for a few minutes, causing his brows to furrow, he knew you were upset about losing your father, but the look in your eyes told him something else was going on inside your head.
Hesitantly he placed his hand on your shoulder, snapping you out of your daze as he gave you a questioning look, causing you to let out a shaky sigh.
“C-Can I speak with you for a moment? Alone?” You spoke quietly, causing his heart to start to race. What was so important that you had to speak to him alone?
You both walked out to the main hallway, your hands clammy as Tom studied your actions, his own nerves starting to eat away at him.
“Y/N what’s going on? You’re making me nervous.” Tom spoke anxiously, his eyes glued to you as you rolled your shoulders back. “Okay uhm, so, there’s really no easy way of saying this, but, here I go..” You paused, your eyes shut as you took a deep breath, before reopening your eyes, “Tom, I’m pregnant.” You spoke softly, a weak smile on your lips as Tom’s eyes widened.
His eyes wandered from your eyes to your stomach, his mouth dropping open in surprise.
“I-Is it mine?” He stammered, internally cringing at how dumb the question sounded. You gave him an amused smile, nodding your head in response. “Yeah, it’s yours. At least it should be since you’re the only one I’ve had sex with.” You squinted your eyes a bit, earning a slight chuckle from Tom in response, he always did love your witty comebacks.
“So.. I’m going to be a dad?” He spoke up after a few moments of silence, a grin slowly appearing on his face. “Yeah, we’re having a baby Tommy.” You smiled softly at the brunette haired boy standing in front of you, his heart melting at the nickname you used. “We’re having a baby.” He repeated, his voice quiet as his eyes began to tear up.
“I also uhm,” You cleared your throat, running your fingers through your hair as Tom tilted his head at you, “I told my dad about you, and about the baby.” You smiled softly, watching as Tom’s eyes softened at the mention of your father.
“What’d he say when you told him?” Tom questioned, taking a few steps towards you as you smiled at him. “He was so happy Tom, he believes in me so much, in us.” You sniffled, starting to get choked up once again.
Tom wrapped his arms around you, pressing his lips against your forehead. “I know he never got a chance to meet you, but I know from how he was talking that he approved of you. He only wants the best for me, and I know now that that’s you Tom, it took me a while to figure that out, but it’s clear to me now.” You smiled nervously up at him, your hand reaching up to run through his curly brown hair.
“I-I love you Tom, and I hope that you’ll love us too.” You whispered quietly, as a tear slipped down his cheek, a soft heart filled smile appearing on his lips. “I’ve loved you since the moment you moved in.” He whispered back, his hand coming up and resting on your cheek, while his other rested on the middle of your back.
“I’ve never felt this way about anyone before, and I wouldn’t want to feel this way for anyone else but you Y/N. I promise you and your dad that I won’t let you down, I’m going to be the best father and be there for you no matter what.” Tom declared, as you gave him a loving smile.
“You forgot something else.” You teased him, your face glowing as Tom’s brow furrowed. “The best boyfriend.” You stated in a teasing manner, watching his eyes widen even more. “You better not be messing with me Y/N.” Tom warned you, a smile on his lips as you let out a giggle, shaking your head. “I’m serious Thomas.” You grinned at him, watching his eyes brighten.
“Then I’m sure as hell going to be the best boyfriend you’ve ever had.” Tom grinned, pulling you flat against his chest, causing you to squeal and laugh as his lips connected with yours. Your hands sunk into the curls at the back of his neck, while his arms wrapped around your figure, hugging you close to him.
This kiss was different from your last, before the kiss was hungry, full of lust and craving, but this kiss, this kiss was soft, full of love, full of passion.
You both eventually broke away, your foreheads resting against each others, giggles escaping both your mouths.
As hard of a time you were going through, you remembered your father's last words, telling you to be happy, and create something wonderful, and that’s exactly what you were going to do. Now that you had Tom by your side, and your beautiful baby growing inside you, you knew you’d be okay, just like your father said you would.
“Should we go surprise the others with the news?” Tom grinned, his fingers intertwining with yours as you smiled brightly up at him. “I think that’d be a great idea.” You nodded, the smile not once leaving your lips as he opened the door for you, both of you entering with bright smiles on your faces.
“We have some news everyone,” Tom began, grabbing all of their attentions, their brows furrowing in confusion as Tom glanced down at you, “We’re pregnant!” You announced, watching as everyone's mouths dropped open in shock, before they all stood up to congratulate the both of you.
What once was a dull, dark waiting room was suddenly turned into a loving, happy one. Even Harrison was happy for the both of you, wishing you two the best, while Madison and Jacob were already talking about baby names.
Laughter continued to leave your mouths as everyone began making up baby names, the atmosphere in the room becoming breathable again. You couldn’t help but look up at Tom, he had a bright smile on his face, laughter escaping his lips as his eyes shone brightly as his arm continued to stay wrapped around your waist.
It was in this moment being surrounded by your friends and Tom that you felt something other than pain that day, you felt love.
Your father was right after all, you were going to be just fine.

Tom is the resident fuckboy at school and,  with his daddy being the richest man on earth, he practically owns the school. What happens when Tom falls completely in love with Y/N, but she doesn’t want to be with him because of his reputation.
Words:  2 415
Prologue
Tumblr media
The next morning, Y/N woke up in the unfamiliar room that will be her home for the rest of the school year. She gets out of bed and slowly makes her way into her private bathroom to get ready for the day. When she is finally ready for the day, she makes her way out the door only to run into Delilah waiting for her at the door. “Good morning, neighbour! How’d you sleep last night?” Delilah questions the sleep ridden girl. Y/N rubs her eyes and groans, “I am still so tired. I wish I could have gotten an earlier flight, but since I was a tad late with buying the tickets this is those are the cheapest tickets I could find. Jet-lag is going to fucking kill me tomorrow during classes.” Delilah lets out a laugh and pulls her towards the front entrance of the dormitories. “You’ll be fine. Come on, the boys are saving us a spot at the table and we want to get there before all the good tea is gone,” Delilah lectures the sleepy girl. Y/N grumbles and follows the too cheerful girl to the Dining Hall.
Tom and Harrison joke around while they wait for the girls to come. “No, but last time I checked you didn’t bang Katie…” Tommy cut himself off when he saw Delilah and Y/N walk into the room. The poor girl looks so tired that all he wanted to do is wrap her up in a blanket and cuddle her. He wanted to watch as her chest moved up and down while she slept. The mere thought of that made his insides feel mushy and warm. It surprised him that he didn’t have one sexual thought about the girl, okay maybe he had a few, but he wanted it to be more about intimacy and lovemaking rather than it just being sex just like he always wants with other girls. Harrison notices his friend’s stare and waves his hand in front of Tom’s face, “Hello, anybody home?” Tom quickly snaps out of his daydream and quickly gets up. “Harrison and I will go get you ladies breakfast. How do eggs benedict with earl grey tea sound?” Tom asks the girls, but he doesn’t really wait for a response as he tugs Harrison with him towards the line of students waiting for their breakfast. However the boys don’t line up with everyone else, they cut to the front and start getting the little groups breakfast for them. “You know you are totally whipped for her and you barely know her,” Harrison teases as he places some plates onto the trays. Tom shakes his head, but keeps his smile to himself at the thought of her, “No, I’m not. I just want to be her friend. If she’s going to be hanging out with Delilah all the time then she’ll be hanging out with us, so I might as well be friends with her.” Harrison shakes his head in disagreement as he poured some tea for the four of them. “Whatever, just don’t break her heart because Delilah and I really do like her and it would be really hard choosing between you two. I also want you to know that you have never gotten your own breakfast and just the fact that you are getting her breakfast tells me that she is different,” Harrison tells him truthfully because he really wanted his best friend to be happy.
At the same time, Delilah tries to convince Y/N that Tom likes Y/N. “Tom totally likes you, you know?” Delilah informs her new best friend. Y/N shakes her head in annoyance, “No, he doesn’t. He’s just a massive flirt.” Delilah, however, is very adamant about the fact that Tom really likes Y/N. “It’s true, Y/N/N. Tom has never offered to get anyone anything ever, so the fact that he is getting you breakfast-” before Delilah could finish what she is saying, Tom and Harrison come back to the table with everyone’s breakfast. Tom places a tray in front of Y/N while Harrison gives Delilah her tray. “So what are you girls talking about?” Tom asks as he wonders why Y/N looks flustered. Y/N looks down at her plate and starts eating, “We aren’t talking about anything important. How did you guys sleep?” Tom is a little disappointed that Y//N didn’t really answer his question, but he answers her question none the less, “I slept well thank you very much. How about you?” The rest of breakfast went a lot like the night before when everyone was helping Y/N unpack. After breakfast, Tom, Harrison, and Delilah wanted to head to the gymnasium.
“So we should you the gym yesterday briefly, but now you can have a better look at it,” Delilah says as she gets out what the British would call a football. She places it on the floor and the three of them start kicking the balls around. “Do you play, Y/N?” Tom inquires as he gently passes the ball to her. Y/N kicks the ball to Harrison but fails and ends up kicking it in the opposite direction. “I am not that great at sports. I like to exercise, but my hand-eye coordination is pretty bad and I pretty clumsy so it’s not the best combination for playing sports. I like playing soccer though, just not for competition. The three of you are on the soccer team, right?” Y/N explains as she watches the ball go back in forth between the four of them. Harrison lets out a chuckle, “We call it football here in England. I don’t exactly know what soccer is, but yeah we are on the football teams. Tom and I are on the male team, and Delilah is on the female team.” “Why don’t we play a little game? I’ll get the nets,” Delilah suggests while heading to the storage closet to get the nets. “I call having Delilah on my team,” Tom calls out. Harrison chuckles as he walks over to Y/N, “That’s fine. Y/N and I can kick your asses either way.” Harrison picks up the ball and places it in the middle of the gym. The game starts and Harrison passes the ball over to Y/N who runs towards the goal with it. She tries to dodge Delilah, but Delilah is too fast for Y/N and takes the ball from her. Delilah passes the ball to Tom who dashes towards the net with it. Y/N runs after Tom and tries to kick the ball away from Tom, but she fails to do so and ends up slipping. She falls straight onto her butt. Tom immediately stops in his tracks and runs over to her with a worried look on his face. “Omg, Y/N are you okay? I am so sorry. Here let me help you up,” Tom says as he holds his hand up for her to take. Y/N takes his hand and pulls herself up, “Thank you. I am fine. My bum is just going to be a little so. Although, I have to advise you that you shouldn’t leave the ball attend because then just anyone can take it.” Y/N runs over to the ball as fast as she can and heads over towards the net. She is laughing the whole way there and once she gets in front of the net, she kicks the ball directly into it. Y/N screams in excitement and runs to give her a hug. “Good job, Y/N,” Harrison praises. The score was tied and they were getting ready to finish the game. Tom has the ball and is running towards the net. Y/N runs after her and tries to steal the ball from him, but she ends up tackling him by accident. Y/N falls on top of Tom so that they are both looking at each other. Tom looks into Y/N’s Y/E/C eyes and sees just how her eyes sparkle when she laughs. A little bit of her hair covers her eyes so Tom lifts his hand to move it away from her eyes. “You’re crushing me just a little bit,” Y/N notifies Tom whilst giggling. Tom chuckles and gets to his feet, “Sorry. I say we call it a tie and head to get some celebratory ice creams in town.”
Everyone heads to take a quick shower and get change, then they all head into Tom’s Mercedes Benz. Harrison and Delilah purposefully sit in the back seat of the car, so that Y/N would have to sit in the front seat with Tom. “Hey, can I plug my phone in for music, please?” Y/N queries with her phone in her hand. Tom nods his head and hands her the cable while keeping his eyes on the road. Y/N plugs in her phone and puts on one of her playlists.  Perfect by Ed Sheeran starts playing and Y/N starts singing along to the music. Tom unconsciously starts tapping his fingers on the steering wheel and starts to sing along with Y/N, “I whispered underneath my breath, but you heard it. Darling, you look perfect tonight.” Y/N looks over at Tom with a surprised look on her face then smiles. She couldn’t help, but admire the way that the sun reflects off of Tom’s brown hair and how it makes his eyes smile. His voice isn’t bad like she thought it might be, but it is actually quite soothing. Tom notices Y/N’s stare and looks over, “What’s up?” “Nothing, just surprised that you have a nice singing voice,” Y/N tells him. What she doesn’t know is that at the same time, Tom was noticing the same things about her. He notices just how much he loves the way the sun reflects off of her hair. He can see just how her eyes sparkle when she hears a song she loves and it’s driving him crazy. He would do anything in the world to be able to always have her sit in the front seat with him. The rest of the car ride was with the whole car singing along to Y/N’s playlist.
Once they arrive at Scoops, the ice cream parlour in town, Y/N and Tom decide to go get the ice cream while Delilah and Harrison save them a table outside since it is still warm enough outside. “What are you getting?” Tom asks Y/N, who was looking at the menu. Scoops is known to have a notoriously big menu. Currently, they have fifty-eight different flavours that you can choose from and Y/N has no idea what to get. “I don’t know, but you can go ahead and order. I’ll just go after you,” Y/N states with an adorable thinking face being shown on her face. “No, it’s fine. I am going to pay for all of them. Maybe, I could surprise you with a flavour if you can’t choose. I think a know a flavour that you might like,” Tom purposes as a solution to Y/N’s dilemma. Y/N agrees to Tom’s idea, “Yeah, that sounds great. Could you maybe get it in a cup, please?  Thank you.” Tom says that Y/N can head back to the table with everyone else whilst he orders. When Tom is finished ordering, he heads back to the table with everyone else. The friends talk about random things whilst waiting for the ice cream to come. A few minutes pass and the waiter brings the ice cream with glasses of water for everyone. “I got Delilah her favourite, strawberries and fava beans. Harrison, I got you the apple lavender. I got the chocolate sage and Y/N I got you salted caramel pretzel,” Tom reveals to the group. Everyone took their perspective ice creams and dives into them. Tom watches as Y/N takes a bite of her ice cream to see what she thinks of it. “So what do you think?” Tom seeks her opinion on the ice cream. Y/N’s sighs with satisfaction when the ice cream touches her tongue, “This is so good! This was a good choice, Tommy! Thank you!”
They eat their ice cream with pleasant conversation until Y/N notices three kids the same age as them walking past the store with a ‘we are better than you’ look on their face. “Hey, do you know who they were?” she queries as she finishes her ice cream. Harrison looks to see who she’s looking at before responding, “That was Penelope Williams and her minions, Julia and Carter Bellsworth.” Delilah rolls her eyes at the mention of the trio and scoops some more ice cream into her mouth. “Ugh, let’s not talk about those idiots. I hate them so much,” she groans. Y/N frowns with confusion because she can’t recall reading any of their names in her research of the school. “Why? What’s wrong with them?” Y/N interrogates. At that Tom chimes into the conversation, “What isn’t wrong with them? Carter is madly in love with Delilah, but he’s skull is so thick that you can break concrete with it. All he does is follow his twin sister around and Julia, she can’t think for herself. She’s always doing whatever Penelope is doing and she’s always trying to get Harrison to go on a date with her. And don’t even get me started on Penelope. We used to sleep with each other. It was supposed to be no strings attached, but then she went around telling everyone that we were dating so I broke it off. Ever since then she’s been trying to get me to date her. She’s also a spoiled brat that does whatever to get what she wants, so that’s also what’s wrong with her.” Y/N won’t lie and say that she didn’t feel a little pang in her heart when she heard that Tom had slept with Penelope, but what can she do? “Ahhh, they sound delightful. They seem like the Plastics of CSCC,” Y/N observes. Tom chortles, “Yeah, like the plastics in Mean Girls. I love that movie” Y/N gives him a surprised look because he really doesn’t look like the type of guy to watch a chick flick. Tom notices, “What? Delilah made us watch it when we were younger and I am not going to deny that I love the movie just because it’s a chick flick.” “I am not judging. I just really like the movie too,” Y/N retorts with a smile on her face. The friends spent the rest of the afternoon at the ice cream parlour.

The bright morning sun leaks through the window and wakes Y/N up from her deep slumber. The bright light causes Y/N to grown, so she turns to face away from the window and cuddles closer to her pillow. When she realizes that the thing she is cuddled into is too warm to be a pillow, she immediately opens her eyes and jumps away from the source of warmth. Before she can fully comprehend that it is Tom, she feels a sudden wave of nausea overcome her so she runs towards the bathroom and unloads the contents of her stomach from last night. Tom wakes up to the sound of someone puking and when he figures out that it is Y/N, he quickly jumps out of bed to go comfort her. He pulls back her hair so it doesn’t get into the water and he rubs her back to comfort her. “Ughh, why is this happening to me?” Y/N groans as she moves away from the toilet and makes her way to the sink to brush her teeth. “It’s a hangover. I promise after some Advil and some greasy food, you’ll be feeling a lot better,” Tom assures Y/N. Y/N does a double-take when she notices that Tom beside her, which was a mistake because it didn’t help the nausea or her headache, “How did get in?” “I slept here remember? You asked me to stay after I got you settled into bed,” Tom laughs whilst explaining it to her. “Right…. You were the person in the bed. I am going, to be honest, I don’t remember anything. The only thing I know is that I am having a terrible hangover and that I am really hungry.” “Okay, well get changed and I am going to take you to Five Guys for lunch. I am going back to my dorm to change.” Y/N quickly checks her clock to see the time and she realizes that it really is around lunchtime, “Sounds like a plan.”
As Y/N gets changed, she goes over the events of last night in her head. Tom took care of her and he was right there when she needed him. He protected her from Ross and made sure that she was okay. He was willing to leave Mindy behind just so that he could make sure she got home safe. Y/N starts to feel her stomach fit at just the thought of him and she realizes that she really fell for him. Tom picks her up fifteen minutes after he left and they head to Five Guys in his car. “Shit!” Tom yells as he suddenly stops the car. Y/N lets out a small yell, “What’s wrong!” “I forgot that I was going to pick up Harrison and Delilah from Jared’s house. Can you text them to see if they got back okay?” Tom asks with worry all over his face. Y/N nods and texts both of her friends to make sure they were okay, “Yep, they got home okay. Jared gave them both a ride home. After lunch could you drop me off at the mall, Delilah and I are going to go shopping.” “Yeah, of course.”
Y/N insists on paying for half of the bill much to Tom’s disappointment. “Tommy, thank you so much for taking care of me last night. You didn’t have to look after me. You could have gone home with Mindy, but you didn’t. I can’t thank you enough,” Y/N thanks him in an attempt to open up a different conversation. Tom puts some fries into his mouth before responding, “I really don’t care about Mindy. What really matters to me is that you got home safely. I mean I do care that Mindy gets home safely as well, but I don’t care if I slept with her or not is what I mean. You really don’t need to thank me. That’s what friends are for.” “Tommy, can I ask you something?” “Technically you already did, but go ahead.” Y/N looks nervously at his hands then up at Tom, “I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me tomorrow night?” “Like on a date?” “Yeah, I know that at first I told you I wasn’t interested, but the way you took care of me last night. Well it really showed me how much I mean to you and I might be reading into something that’s not there, but I really like you.” Tom’s face lights up and he jumps at his chance to go on a date with her, “Of course, I’d love to go out with you! But don’t think that you are forced to go out with me because I helped you.” “No, I totally don’t think that. I just realized that you really care for me and I really care for you too, so I think I am ready for this. You’re really sweet and respectful of me, and it made me realize how much I actually like you. And now I am rambling on, so please just shut me up.” Tom laughs and takes one of her hands into his, “You’re fine. I really like you too and I find it really cute that you are rambling.”
After lunch, Tom dropped Y/N off at the mall so that she could go shopping with Delilah. “So you guys are really going on a date?” Delilah says as she goes through some of the racks in the store. Y/N looks up from the rack that she is looking at and turns towards her friend, “Yep, I asked him out at lunch. I just felt like it was perfect. I mean he was really sweet to me and he took care of me last night. Plus, I am not going to lie, I really like him and I am really excited. I know, I haven’t really shown my feelings towards him, but I really do feel a connection. He’s sweet and funny. Last night he stayed over and we cuddled and it just felt so great being in his arms. And I am gushing, but I really need your help picking out a new outfit because all my clothes don’t feel like something you wear on a date.” “I can totally help with that! Tom likes the colour red, so maybe you should get that crimson skirt and you can pair that with a white top. You can wear a jean jacket with that and you can borrow my brown heeled boots. You’ll look great.” With that, the girls got to looking for the perfect white to go with her skirt.
They finally find the right shirt and head back to the dorms so that Y/N can try on her clothes. “So you really think I look good in this?” Y/N questioned worriedly whilst smoothing over her skirt. Delilah looks up at her and nods in approval, “Girl, you look amazing. Tom would want to rip off your clothes in that outfit.” “He won’t actually do that, right?” “Oh, no sweetie. Don’t worry, he won’t do anything that you don’t want him to do. He may have been a player, but I know he was very respectful to the girls,” Delilah assures Y/N. “Okay, I am going to go change back into my other clothes then I am going to head down to the library to do some studying,” Y/N informs Delilah.
Harrison looks at Tom with a look of wonder on his face, “You’re so whipped for her it’s crazy. Mate, you’ve only known her for a week.” “Haz, it doesn’t matter how long we’ve known each other. It’s not like she’s asking me to marry her. Where just going on a date. You should have seen how cute she during lunch. She just kept rambling on and she was so nervous. I know I wouldn’t admit it before, but I really like her. And I think she really likes me too, so shut up and help me find an outfit.” Harrison and Tom go through Tom’s clothes to find the perfect outfit. “I think you should wear these jeans and your black t-shirt with your green hoodie and your jean jacket. That way if she gets cold you can give her either one and still have something to wear, so you don’t get cold,” Harrison suggests. Tom gives him a ‘that’s a great idea’ face, “That’s really smart. How’d you think of that?” “I did it once on a date and I’ve never not done it on a date since,” Haz explained, “Also Delilah just texted me, that she and Y/N are in the library and after they are going to go to dinner. So… do you want to head over?” “Yeah, sure let’s go,” Tom says as he grabs his hoodie and heads down to the library with Harrison.

Prologue | Chapter 1 |
Tumblr media
Today classes are supposed to start and Y/N couldn’t be more excited to start the school year at the school that she’s always dreamed of going to. She finishes her breakfast as fast as she could so that she can head back to her dorm to get her books and head to class. “Looks like someone is eager to head to class,” Harrison jokes after Y/N had dashed away towards her dorm. Delilah chuckles along to the joke, “Yeah, she’s like the only girl I know that is actually excited to start school. It was so cute, she was talking to me all of last night about how thrilled she is for classes.” Tom smiles as his two best friends joke around about the girl he not so secretly has a massive crush on her. “Yeah, she really is something else. What classes do you have this term?” Tom questions his friends as he starts to clean up his breakfast tray for the lower classes to come to clean up. Delilah and Harrison look over their schedules and switch their schedules between each other to see what their friends have. “Hey, you have algebra with Y/N, Tom. And Harrison, we have the same drama class,” Delilah comments whilst handing back the schedules to the perspective person. Tom seemed unfazed by the fact that he was in the same class as Y/N on the outside, but on the inside, he is freaking out and he has no idea what to do.
The first two periods of the day went by quicker then Tom had thought they would especially since his second period was a spare. Tom walks as quickly as he can to Room 235 where he has algebra class. Tom dread the idea of going to math class. He hardly understood anything going on and with his dyslexia, all the numbers would get mixed up, but he needs to take algebra to go into business. Plus, he promised his dad that he’d go to university for business if he was allowed to get a minor in acting. However, the thought of being in the same class with Y/N made all his worries about algebra disappear. He walks into Room 235 to see Y/N sitting in the front row right in the center with writing stuff all laid out in perfect reach for her. Tom notices that one of the nerds is about to sit in the only free seat beside Y/N, so he went into action. He quickly made his way to the desk and gently shoves the nerd to the side so that he doesn’t seem aggressive in front of Y/N. “Tommy, you could have just asked him to move. I know I am amazing, but no need to be aggressive,” she quips at Tom. “I already know how amazing you are, but I want you to know how amazing I am. So I have to sit beside you every algebra class in order to show you just how amazing I can be.” “Okay, Mr. Cocky. Think about whatever you want to think.” Before the conversation could continue, Professor Dickens walks into the room and starts his lesson.
During class Tom is asked to answer a question, he looks up at the board then look down at his notebook to try to solve the problem. His brow knits together in confusion and he squints at the board like he couldn’t believe what is on the board. When he finally has an answer, Professor Dickens tells Tom he is wrong and continues on with the questions. Tom sighs in defeat and looks down at his notebook to try to figure out what he did wrong. The bell rang signifying the end of class and the beginning of lunch. Y/N walks beside Tom and strings up a conversation with him, “Were you okay in class? It looked like something was bothering you.” Tom scratches the back of his neck and looks over at Y/N with red cheeks from embarrassment, “Well, I am not going to lie. I have dyslexia, so sometimes I mix up the numbers and it gets hard to do math. I see one number as another and that makes me get the wrong answer. It’s really frustrating and I don’t know what to do. Y/N could feel Tom’s vulnerability about this subject and she couldn’t help but feel bad for him. “What if I were to help you? We can’t go over the questions in class and do some practice questions. Maybe practice will help you do the exercises a little bit more easily. You know how they say practicing reading helps you read,” Y/N suggests to Tom. “That sounds like an awesome idea. I think it would help.” Y/N nods her head, “We can start after school. Meet me at my dorm after dinner?” Tom agrees and they head over to the dining hall.
Tom and Y/N arrive at the dining hall before Delilah and Harrison did, so they went to their normal table and sit down. “I am going to go get our lunch,” Tom informs Y/N while he gets up from the table and heads over to the food area. Y/N tittles her fingers with her head in the clouds whilst she awaits the return of her friends. She is so lost in her thoughts that she doesn’t notice the three snooty people sit at the table with her. The girl is only made aware of her visitors when Penelope loudly coughs. Y/N head snaps in their direction and she raises an eyebrow at them. “Oh, look I’ve been graced with the presence of people who are basically minions to each other and are CSCC resident Plastics,” Y/N’s snarky remarks anger the three friends. Penelope leans against the table on her arms and points a finger at Y/N in a threatening way, “Listen you little shit, Tom is my man. He may not know it yet, but he will eventually come around and realize that I am the right girl for him. And if you even think about going for Harrison then you are crazy because Harrison is for Julia. So you better watch out because I always get what I want and I don’t like sharing. By the end of next month, Tom is going to be mine and I really don’t care what happens with you.” Julia and Carter let out a sound in agreement before they get up from their chairs and storm off to their table. After that confusing scene, Delilah and Harrison join her at the table and Tom returns to the table with two trays of food. “What happened, Y/N/N?” Harrison asks his new friend when he sees the look of confusion on her face. Y/N looks over at her newly arrived friends, “I was just threatened by the Plastics and I am confused with how people can be so bitchy.” This makes her friends chuckle and they go on to eat their lunch.
The rest of the day goes by so fast that Y/N felt like lunch was only an hour ago. Now, she finds herself with dinner in front of her and her friends sitting by side her. “How was your first day, Y/N/N?” Delilah inquires to her best friend. “It was great! I actually feel like I am learning something in class and that school is actually a little bit of a challenge. I met some really nice people that I think could become my friends and study partners. After dinner, I am going to help Tom with math. How did your day go?” “It went like normal. Although, I think I am going to run for the Student Council’s vice president. I was thinking you could run for President, you are smart and very organize which would make you a great president. Plus, you are really pretty which would help you win the votes of the brainless boys who only vote for the girls who they think is the prettiest. Penelope always wins and she never does anything useful for the school.” Y/N thinks about what Delilah says, “That does sound like something I would like and be good at. Maybe, I will give it a go. How was your day, Tom and Harrison?” Tom jumps at the opportunity to tell Y/N first, “I have to say it was pretty dull until I had algebra with you.” Y/N feels her face heat up at Tom’s flirting and then turns to hear Harrison’s answer. “It was boring, I think I might have to drop French literature because I really don’t like it,” Harrison says. The conversation goes on between the rest of the friends for the rest of the dinner until they finish eating and they part ways. Delilah goes to soccer practice, Harrison heads to the guidance councillor, and Tom and Y/N head back to her dorm.

Y/N sits at their dining hall table with her lunch in front of her waiting for her friends to come and join her. It’s a few minutes before they join her with their own lunches in their hands. “So Jared Willkins’ annual beginning of school bash is tonight and we were wondering if you wanted to come with us,” Delilah asks her friend. Y/N finishes chewing her food before answering, “That sounds fun, but I am going, to be honest, this is going to be my first high school party so I might be a little clingy.” “It’s alright, Y/N/N. We really won’t mind as long as you are having a good time, you can be stuck to us the whole night. Although, maybe not the whole night because I’ve been flirting with Gracie all week and it would be a shame if all that effort went to waste,” Harrison comments with a silent chuckle to himself like it was an inside joke with himself. “Alright, weirdo,” Tom whispers under his breath as he laughs at his friend. Delilah turns towards Y/N with the ‘I have an idea’ look on her face, “You can come over to my dorm after class to get ready. I have snacks in my dorm that should be able to tie us over until the party. Jared always has the most interesting food choices for his parties.” “Yeah, that sounds great! I’ll meet you then.”
Y/N fidgets with her fingers before raising her hand to knock on the door. She could hear the music blasting on the other side of the door, so when nobody responds after a few seconds Y/N decides to try to open the door. When the door pushes open, Y/N is met with the sight of Delilah dancing around the room with a strip of bacon in her hand. “Where did you get the bacon from?” Y/N inquires as she sees a plate of bacon on Delilah’s desk and goes to get a strip. Delilah stops dancing and turns towards Y/N, “I may have bribed one of the cooks with some new cooking utensils if she made us some bacon. I also got some sausage rolls from Greg’s, Hula Hoops crisps and some Cadbury's fingers.” “Hmmmm, I love Cadbury's fingers. I can eat a whole pack in one sitting. And I’ve heard of Greg’s famous sausage rolls and I’ve always wanted to try one.” “Well, knows your lucky day. Here try one,” Delilah says whilst handing Y/N a paper bag. Y/N takes the bag and takes a bite out of the delicious pastry, “This totally live up to my expectation. God, I which they had these in Toronto.” “I know right, it’s like they were sent from God or something. Know I put together this outfit that you could borrow from me. I think you would look amazing in it,” Delilah informs Y/N. Delilah gives Y/N a white crop top with black high-waist pants and a jean jacket that has patches on the back. “I like it. Simple, but I think it could drop some jaws. I am going to go try it on,” Y/N tells the other girl before heading to the bathroom to get change. Once changed, Y/N exams herself in the mirror and feels her confidence go up. This isn’t the typical type of outfit that she would normally wear, but she loves how she looks in it.
“Come out, I want to see your outfit and I want your opinion on your outfit,” Delilah announces from the other side of the door. Y/N rolls up the sleeves of the jacket then opens the door to see that Delilah has changed into a red tight-fitting dress with white heels. “Awww, you look so great. Every boy is going to want to get with you,” Delilah assures Y/N while she brings Y/N to sit in front of her vanity and starts to work on her hair and makeup. Y/N closes her eyes so the makeup doesn’t get in her eyes, “Thanks. I think you look really great. Jess isn’t going to know what hit her.” “Aww, you're making me blush.” Around forty-five minutes later, Y/N opens her eyes to see that Delilah had gone with a natural look except for the lips which were a ruby red that really stood out. Her hair is lightly curled and the front pieces of her hair are braided back in a crown. Y/N wraps her arms around Delilah’s neck, “Thank you so much. I look amazing.” “You’re welcome, sweetie. Now, we better get going before the boys kill us for being so late,” Delilah points out. Y/N nods and goes to get her purse before they both head down to the parking lot to where the boys were.
“So where is this party going to be because I really don’t think everyone is going to fit in Jared’s dorm room,” Y/N jokes from where she was sitting in the back seat with Delilah. Harrison looks over his shoulder from the passenger seat at her, “Well, his parents’ house is actually really close so that’s why he is the one that normally hosts the party. And don’t worry about being back by curfew. Nobody actually notices if you are gone or not and if they do, we’ll just bribe them for you. Y/N laughs at his jokes, but deep down she knows he isn’t really joking. Tom takes a glance at Y/N through the rearview mirror. When he saw her outfit, he felt his stomach do a flip and he never felt like this before. He wanted to wrap his arms around her waist and call her his girlfriend. He wanted to be the only person that those ruby red lips would kiss and it’s driving him insane. He can’t help but smile at how well she gets along with his best friends and it just makes him like her more.
They got to the party and Y/N could already hear the pounding music from where they parked down the street. As they got closer and closer to the house she could already see other teens making their way towards the party as well. The music is so much louder when you are actually inside of the house and there are so many people in the house that Y/N is pretty sure half of them don’t go to the school. “Ohh, I see Jess. I am going to go say hey. Stay with the boys, okay babe. Have fun!” Delilah yells at her friends before running off to go see her target. Y/N turns around to face the boys to see that only Tom remains and that Harrison is making his way towards Gracie. “And then there were two,” Y/N comments as she moves in closer to Tom so she doesn’t need to scream. Tom chortles at what she says, “Let’s go get a drink.” The kitchen is a little more deserted than the rest of the house and a little quieter. “So what do you want to drink?” Tom questions with a Heineken in his hand. Y/N stares at all the various alcoholic drinks and feels a little nervous, “Uhh, I don’t really know. I’ve never really drank before, so maybe just a beer or something. I don’t really think starting off with vodka is a good idea for an amateur. “Yeah, that wouldn’t be good. Here try this first and if you don’t like it then I can just get you some water or I can make you a cocktail,” Tom suggests. Y/N agrees and takes his beer into her hand. She takes a sip out of the bottle and at first, she doesn’t like the taste, but it grows on her. “Hmm, not bad. I think I can grow to like it,” Y/N decides as she takes another sip from his beer. Tom chuckles and grabs another beer for himself, “A girl with good taste, not bad. Why don’t we go dance?” Tom takes Y/N’s hand and he can’t lie that he didn’t feel butterflies in his stomach. He takes her over to the living room where the music is coming. They start moving to the music and as more and more people start to come in they find themselves on opposite sides of the room, but they felt safe with the distance because they were still within seeing distance of each other.
Tom had been dancing and flirting with Mindy all night and he knew that he has it in the bag. He looks up to check on Y/N before he takes Mindy upstairs for a little privacy, but what he sees has his blood boiling. Ross Butler is behind her whispering things into her ear and Y/N looks like she just wants to get away from him. “Why don’t we go upstairs and see what you have underneath, sweetheart,” Ross whispers into Y/N ear and she honestly felt very uncomfortable. She wanted to get away from him and get Tom, but she says that Tom was with Mindy and she didn’t want to bother him. Also, she was honestly a little bit tipsy and tired, so she doesn’t really know what to do. Before she could tell Ross no for the fifty times, Ross is pulled away from her and he receives a punch in the face. “Don’t ever think about bothering a girl like that again, Butler. Now, get up and apologize,” Tom screams at Ross, who had fallen because of the punch. The music was turned off and everyone is crowding around to watch the scene unfold. Ross quickly stands up, apologizes to Y/N and walks out of the living room. Tom gives everyone the look that tells them to go back to what they were doing then goes over to see how Y/N is doing. She stumbles a little bit, but he catches her before she can fall. “Alright, Ms. Lightweight. Why don’t we get you to bed?” he encourages as he helps get out of the crowded house and toward his car. “What about Harrison and Delilah?” she asks with a giggle as she feels her body starting to get tired. Tom chuckles at how she is asking and makes sure she is buckled into the passenger seat, “I sent them a text to tell them where we are and I am pretty sure they would be too busy to care that they don’t have a ride back for the night. I’ll go pick them up in the morning.” “What about Mindy?” Y/N slurs with another giggle. Tom shakes his head, “She doesn’t matter. As long as you are safe that’s all that matters.” Y/N felt her eyes close and she rests her head on Tom’s shoulder. She cuddles into his side and he can’t help but smile at how cute she is.
“Okay, I am going to need your help. Can you do that?” Tom implores the sleepy girl to do. All Y/N does is chortle and continues to try to stumble her way into the dorm room building. Tom eventually gives up and decided to pick her up, but not before he asks her if it is okay. He got to her dorm room and unlocks the door with the key in her purse. He places her gently in her bed and is about to pull the covers over her before she stops him. “Can you help me change first, please?” she pleads in a childlike voice. Tom hesitates for a second, but ultimately agrees when he sees her struggling to take off her shirt. He gently removes her shirt, making sure to watch her hair and hands her the pyjama shirt that is on her dress. He sees that she is going to take off her bra, so he turns around and closes his eyes to give her some privacy. She says he can turn around and asks him to give her a clean pair of underwear and her pyjama pants. Tom hands over the clothes and helps her out of her pants; he turns around when she changes her underwear just like when she takes off her bra and then turns back around to help her with her pants. He places the covers over her body and leaves a bottle of water and some Advil on her bedside table for the morning. He gives her a kiss on the forehead then turns to leave, but was stopped again by Y/N’s voice. “Can you please stay with me?” Y/N begs with big baby doll eyes. Tom takes a moment to think about the consequences of his actions, but when he sees that Y/N really needed him to stay, he goes to turn off the lights and trips down to his boxers after asking Y/N if it is okay. He lies down under the covers beside her and closes his eyes to try to get some sleep. He feels the bed shift underneath him then Y/N cuddles into his side. He wraps his arm around her again and gives her another kiss on the forehead. He feels her steady and soft breath on his chest. The smell of her shampoo comforts him and he couldn’t help, but fall asleep with a smile on his face.

Coffee Shop Chapter 3
Fuckboy Tom AU!! TomHollandxReader
Summary: You and Tom meet again, just a little change in environment :-)
Word Count: 4199
Warnings: Swearing, mostly fluff, a little angst.
A/N: YAYYY finally lol. This is the longest part I’ve done so far, and I apologize for the wait. It ends a little weird, but I promise I have this going in the direction i want. THE NEXT PART IS ABOUT TO BE SO GOOD. I AM SO E X C I T E D. I’m about to start a tag list!!! Message me to be tagged!
Rain, rain, rain. That’s all the weather has been like for the last four days. The city has been plagued with massive puddles resembling small lakes, and the air is bitingly cold. It’s a miracle that with the cold temperatures, you haven’t been trapped in your apartment building by what could’ve and maybe should’ve been a blizzard. And if it had been a blizzard, you wouldn’t have been able to see Tom at the coffee shop for what became a part of both of your daily routines over the last week. The rain hasn’t stopped either of you from meeting each other, which makes your stomach knot in the best way. He was willing to see you everyday despite the awfully shitty weather. You feel kind of silly, hinging the fact that he maybe, just might, be happy to see you everyday as you are as happy to see him, based off the fact that every day you shared a coffee or tea or two together before carrying on with the rest of your day. But you felt especially silly, since you still hadn’t exchanged numbers or even told each other your last names. You always meant to ask him for his number, much less his last name, but whenever you two began to talk, it would always slip your mind, and you wouldn’t remember.
Today’s weather was a small improvement from the previous days. There was a light mist over the city. The air was still bitingly cold, but of course, that wouldn’t stop you. You pulled on a long sleeved t-shirt, a sweater, a pair of comfortable jeans, your rain boots, and braided your hair sloppily over a shoulder. The coffee shop’s atmosphere was always warm, so you didn’t bother with one of your bulkier coats before leaving. The shop was only a short block away from your building and as usual, you weren’t planning on staying out afterwards either.
You usually got to the cafe before Tom did, so in order to busy yourself, you usually helped Ms. Phillips stock coffee bean bags, travel mugs, and other merchandise in the shop’s shelves, wiping tables down, and made sure the magazines scattered throughout the shop were current and up to date. These were small favors you usually did which Ms. Phillips sometimes paid you back for with free drinks and coupons. She often teased you about Tom, about how handsome he was, and how you both probably had a huge crush on each other, but every time, you deny it, giving you a weird sinking and terrifying, yet floating feeling because maybe she might be right. After all, she is old enough to have seen it all. But it’s impossible. Tom was… something else; sweet and kind, and not to mention gorgeous, and you almost forget that you’ve been hurt in the past and that titles and love are actually terrifying, but he’s definitely out of your league. You see how women look at him from outside the window as they pass the coffee shop window and as they buy their drinks. Ms. Phillips has even warned you before that he could have a side you could’ve never imagined. Whatever happens, happens, you think to yourself. But you’re not about to lose your mind over this. But you still find yourself lost in your thoughts as you finish wiping a table down before taking a seat at your own usual spot in the corner. You just pull out a pen and colored pencils, as the door chime jingles and Tom bustles his way in, an unopened umbrella hanging from one of his wrists, both hands lodged in his coat pockets.
“(Y/N), Hi,” Tom greets you, still breathless from the cold. He takes some time to hang both his coat and umbrella from the back of his chair before taking a seat.
“Hey Tom,” you smile.
“What, no drinks today?” he teases, noticing that you didn’t have your usual mug of green tea or coffee before you today.
You shake your head with a smile. “Nah. I just helped the owner, Ms. Phillips with some chores and stuff today, so I haven’t found the time yet.”
He gets back to his feet. “Well that’s good news because I probably owe you a drink or two anyway. My treat,” he says with a shy smile. “Green tea or coffee today?”
“Oooo, you big spender,” you laugh, borrowing his little joke from your second time meeting. “I’ll go for a coffee today, thank you, Tom.”
He snorts a laugh. “Hey, you deserve it, (Y/N). I got you.” Pulling his wallet from his back pocket, he makes his way into the crowded line, which gives you time to study him.
Tom’s wearing a beanie today, little brown curls sticking out from underneath it. He’s wearing a black hoodie over blue jeans with a pair of Doc Martens boots. His hands look rough and calloused from here, but you know from sitting in front of him every morning that though calloused, their movements are gentle and light. He’s rough looking despite his sweet personality. In fact, he looks exactly like the type of guy you knew to avoid. Just by standing there in line, he had gained not just your attention, but the attention of half of the other women sitting in the coffee shop with you. But that doesn’t seem to bother him at all, much less capture his attention. Your eyes travel from his hands back to his face, and feel your cheeks flush in embarrassment when he catches your eye.
Now, Tom is no stranger to catching women’s eyes on him in public; whether it be from recognition from his role as Spider-man or simply because he was good looking. But when he caught your eye, his heart did a flip flop. You were dressed simply today. You didn’t do much to your physical appearance to call attention to yourself, and yet here you were taking all of his. His eyes locked on yours, and your skin is tinged pink in embarrassment, but you smile sweetly and return your gaze back to your notebook. He’s not going to fall for you, he won’t, he reminds himself. He finishes paying for your drinks and slowly makes his way back to your table, careful not to make any spills.
He pulls his beanie off his head and shakes his messy curly hair out with a hand. “So, I’ve been forgetting to ask, but have you gotten any sleep lately?” he asks, aware that you used to never get any sleep due to your obnoxious neighbor living a floor up from you.
You sip your drink, savoring the warm feeling that fills you. “I did actually. He’s been quiet lately, thank god,” you reply, setting your mug down.
He nods. “That’s great, it’s good to know you’re finally getting to sleep.”
“Yeah,” you agree with a smile. “Thanks to him, I haven’t binge watched anything on netflix in a while.”
Tom smirks. “You know, I don’t know if you’re saying that as if it’s a good or bad thing or not.”
“Now that you say that, I’m not too sure about it myself,” you laugh.
At this point, Tom’s breathing gets lodged in his throat again. Your laugh. It literally lifts his stress away, but he can’t have that. He doesn’t want to feel that floating feeling. It made him vulnerable. He can’t stand looking at you without his heart flipping in his chest, and here, at your usual spot in the shop, he has no choice but to keep his gaze on you as you both speak, or be a complete asshole and stare out the window. And both were non-options. If he kept sitting here, focusing on only looking at your pretty face and listening to your soft voice, he knew he start feeling like maybe he should let himself fall a little. A non-option. But being an asshole was also a no-go. You didn’t deserve to think he didn’t care, you were too kind to him for him to do that.
“Hey, (Y/N)?”
“Mhm?” you hum, sipping your drink.
“Would you care for a walk?” Tom asks. At least this way, if they were to walk side by side, he wouldn’t feel obligated to look at you in the face as you walked; there are plenty of things to look at on a walk. “You know, for a change in environment?” he adds, for cover.
There’s a look of hesitation on your face. “What’s wrong with the shop?” you quickly tease, to hide your apprehension.
Tom shakes his head. “Nothing. It’s lovely. But you know, a change in environment?” he repeats sheepishly. He’s never been this bad with words before, and his ideas being rejected or questioned wasn’t a common thing that happened to him. His nerves probably weren’t doing him any good either. Since when did he ever feel nervous about talking to girls? He knew that was dangerous. If he’s nervous about someone, that means he cares about their opinion of him.
You drain the rest of your drink in a few quick gulps and put your notebook away.
Tom smiles. “So is that a yes?”
“I don’t know, Tom. It’s not that I don’t want to go…” you begin.
He shakes his head, a victorious little smile tugging at the corner of his lips, knowing that you were about to give in.
“But fine, I guess we can use a little ‘change in environment’”, you roll your eyes playfully as you air quote his words.
Tom’s smile blooms all the way across his face, and he drains his mug as well. “Thank you. Let’s get going.”
You slip your arms into your coat and pick up your backpack, and head out. As soon as you step out the coffeeshop doors, you remember the freezing forty degree weather and that you didn’t bother dressing very warmly. A cold breeze sends a shiver down your spine, and you clench your teeth to keep them from chattering, pulling the hood of your thin coat up.
“Tom?” you pause on the sidewalk.
“Yeah?”
You stuff your hands into your thin coat pockets, your fingers already a bright red from the cold. “I didn’t exactly dress for the occasion.”
Tom does a quick once over, noticing your thin coat. He tries his hardest not to wince. He couldn’t stay cooped up with you at the shop. Looking at you for too long, even now, was difficult for him. Anything, literally anything, would better than accidentally falling for you if you made him laugh one more time while stuck looking at you. He knows that what he’s about to do is dumb for him and his pact to himself, but he takes his coat off and hands it to you.
Your eyes widen at the gesture. “Tom, I can’t take that. I’d leave you cold, and I’d feel awful about it.”
For fuck’s sake, Tom thinks to himself. Everything you do is so soft and caring and considerate of him without you meaning to do so. He almost wishes you weren’t so easily likable. But your kindness... It’s like second nature to you. “If you don’t, you’ll freeze,” he says quietly.
You shrug, a pained smile crossing your face. You didn’t want to waste time by going home and grabbing something more weather appropriate. You knew Tom was busy whenever he wasn’t with you.
Tom groans. “Don’t act like it’s not a big deal. You can borrow my jumper.” He pulls the hoodie he was wearing underneath his coat over his head, handing it to you. It should be heavy enough to keep you warm, with the sweater you were already wearing, and the thin coat you had brought along.
“You’re gonna be the death of me, Tom,” you say under your breath, but there’s a touch of playfulness in your tone.
He shrugs. “I’ll take the blame… But wait, why would I be the death of you, if you’re the one who forgot to dress warm enough?” Tom can’t help but laugh.
You pause, looking at him. “You know, you got me there, so maybe I’ll be the death of you,” and your lips pull into a slight cringe.
“Just put the damn jumper on, (Y/N),” Tom shook his head between a smile. Tom watches as you pull his hoodie on. You’re right. You will be the death of him. The jumper is a lot bigger on you than it was on him, and its sleeves pool over your hands and its hem settles mid thigh.
Yes, this is definitely a mistake, Tom thought to himself as you pull your coat on over his jumper. You looked adorable with the excess thick black fabric of his jumper overflowing over your hands and out the bottom of your coat. He liked the look of his clothing on you more than he ever could’ve imagined, and when you looked up to him to thank him, he wanted to turn and run in the direction of his apartment building, just out of pure confusion and fright from what he was feeling, but at the same time, he couldn’t; not because he didn’t want to look bad to you, but because he wanted to be around you. You looked goofy, but your sweet smile could evaporate the massive puddles of rain water lining the city streets. He’s at a loss for words, looking at you.
Tom never would’ve thought he’d let a girl borrow his clothing. It invited them to get closer to him... Gave them a reason to think that they meant something to him. To not lend his clothing to any girl for any reason at all, is a rule of his game he hadn’t broken since he started living the life he currently lives. His heart is flooded with his mixed feelings; so torn between wanting you to fall for him and needing to keep his distance. He had been catching your stares more and more often and your embarrassed smiles and flushed cheeks were the most endearing thing he’d ever seen and it was a good boost to his confidence. Being with you was peaceful and relaxing, unlike the turbulence he encountered in his everyday life as Tom Holland. But even though nothing you’ve done shows that you’ll disappear out of nowhere, putting his trust in you, or anyone for that matter, is terrifying. But for the first time in a really long time, he almost feels like he wants to belong with someone… That someone being you.
He realizes that he’s been staring at you, and you’ve been staring back the entire time, and he shakes his head.
“I look stupid, I know,” you laugh.
“It’s quite the opposite. Don’t worry, (Y/N),” Tom replies, looking away.
“Whatever you say.” You quip, and you tuck a strand of hair behind your ear and Tom slides a pair of sunglasses on as you both make your way down the sidewalk, between the bustling people. “So where to, Tom?” you ask.
“There’s a few places we can go to,” he replied. “But first, the grocery store.” Honestly, he wasn’t sure where to take you, but he’s seen several people go to the park just to feed ducks at the duck pond. He figured that would be enough.
“The grocery store?” you look at him, inquisitively.
“Mhm,” Tom nods.
“Any particular reason why?” you ask, trying to keep up with Tom’s long strided walk.
He makes a turn down into a street where the low profile bodega he usually frequented sat.
“Well yeah,” Tom says, a small shy smile tugging at his lips. “Ever fed ducks at the pond in the park?” He usually didn’t feel this bashful around women. It was weird.
A smile grows on your face. “Well yeah,” you imitate Tom’s tone. “But people usually don’t do that in this weather. What there aren’t any there?”
“We’re just going to have to hope we’re lucky,” Tom replies. He pulls the grocery store door open, allowing you in first. The door shut behind him as he followed you in, sealing the two of you in sudden warmth after walking in the cold and strange lighting from the fluorescent lights with the grey sunshine pouring in from the windows. He picks up a small can of instant oats for the ducks and a few snacks for himself. “Want anything?” he looks to you.
You pick up a bag of gummy bears and a rice krispy treat. “I got it, thank you anyway, Tom.”
He shakes his head. “Nope. This entire thing was my idea, so I provide the provisions,” he declares. He looks at your sugary snack selection. “Sweet tooth?” he asks.
“Maybe a little,” you admit.
He smiles. A sweet tooth to match your overly sweet personality. It’s only fitting. “Compromise? We’ll take turns with this treating the other deal, alright?” He reaches for your snacks.
“Fine,” you submit. “My turn next time, okay?”
“Done.” He replies.
You crack a stupid smile, pointing at the can of oats in his arms. “I guess you can say, oats a deal,” you bite your lip, trying not to laugh.
“You did not just say that,” he groans, but he can’t help but smile at your stupid pun. “That was the worst pun in history.”
“I believe I did,” you reply in a fit of giggles.
He shakes his head, unable to get rid of his own smile. “You’re not funny, (Y/N).”
“Oh come on, Tom. You oat-ta learn to take a joke,” you say, snorting when you can’t contain your laughter.
“Did you just snort?”
“Maybe I did!”
By now, Tom’s smile is fully plastered across his face. “You think you’re so hilarious.” If you weren’t laughing so hard at your own joke, Tom probably wouldn’t have laughed at all, but your laugh is contagious. A red flag goes up in his head, blaring his alarms. What made you happy, made him happy. This happiness is so new. It feels good, and he hits snooze on those alarms.
You snort again. “You’re right. I do.”
"I’m not confirming that or negating that statement,” he replies.
You raise your eyebrows. “Oh please. You know it’s hilarious. You wouldn’t be laughing right now if you didn’t.”
“That’s questionable.”
“You know it.”
“Okay, (Y/N),” Tom shakes his head, his cheeks aching from his massive
He brings your items to the counter and pays. With your items in a plastic bag, you both make your way to the park, talking as you went. Despite your joking and light exchange at the bodega and only a week of knowing him, you knew your boundaries. Tom didn’t mention his work as an extra very often, his hometown or his family; when he did, he usually left out titles, places, and names, but today, you learned that he was one of four brothers, two of them being twins, two years younger, a youngest brother, being eight years younger than Tom.
“Your poor mother,” you joke.
He shrugs. “She kept us in line.”
He doesn’t say much about them after that, and you don’t press him for details. You feel like there’s more to the story that he’s withholding from you. He obviously still cares about his family. He speaks about them nostalgically, but they’re obviously not a part of his life at the present moment and you figure that when the time comes, and when he’s comfortable, he’ll tell you more. B you found you had more in common than you thought. You both find yourselves easily talking about your favorite music, TV shows, both of your theories on the universe, your strange obsession for instant ramen noodles, and who you think will win the World Cup coming up.
You basically covered a whole two days’ worth of topics on the walk to the park, without the random pauses that came with trying to cool and sip a hot drink. When you get there, you see that you’re in luck. Though the weather is quite honestly gross and pretty cold, the pond is occupied by fifteen or so ducks. Besides the few people who stream past you and the man playing a saxophone under a footbridge a little further up the path, evidently no one had the same idea Tom had for the day.
Tom unlooped the plastic bag’s handles from his wrist and hands you the small cardboard container of instant oats. “Would you like to do the first honor?” he asks, in a rather grandiose manner.
“Oh, why of course I would!” You tug the lid off the can and grab a small handful of oats and you toss it into the water for the ducks to snack at, and they come flocking. “So what made you think today would be a good day to feed ducks?” you ask out of the blue.
Tom isn’t facing you at that very moment, and he’s thanking whatever god is up there watching out for him. If he were looking at you, you’d be able to see clear as day that he was making up whatever he was gonna say. He didn’t think today would be a day for anything. But here he was. “I just thought a change in environment and routine would be a good thing, you know?” He repeats what he said back in the coffee shop.
“I guess,” you reply, tossing another handful of oats for the ducks.
You guess? Tom’s heart rate started to rise. “Um, there’s an art museum nearby and bunch of food carts. You know, for when we run out of oats. Or get hungry”
“What art museum?” You ask, intrigued.
“The Metropolitan Museum of Art, why?” he asks, he turns to look at you.
You shrug. “I’ve been meaning to go, but I haven’t yet.”
Tom finally brings his eyes to yours. “Wait, I thought you liked art and painting and stuff. Haven’t you lived in the city for a few years now?”
“Well, yeah… I guess I never found the time to go,” you shrug again.
“Would you want to go today?” Tom asked, putting his cold hands in his pockets to hide the fact that his hands were shaking from nerves.
Your eyes widen in surprise. “You want to go?”
Tom shrugs. “Yeah, if you want to.”
“Would it be bad if I kinda want to?”
“I offered it, so no,” Tom says with a smirk. “So yes?”
“Yes, you goof. Stop smirking at me,” you toss a handful of oats at him.
“Did you just throw oats at me?” Tom looks at you in amused disbelief.
You laugh. “They didn’t throw themselves did they?” Suddenly, all the ducks from the pond came flying out of the water and pecking at the ground surrounding Tom.
Tom grunts expletives under his breath, trying to avoid stepping on an unlucky duck. “You know, (Y/N), not trying to start my day covered in duck shit,” he says sassily but still wearing a smile.
You’re laughing the entire time. “I didn’t see that coming, I’m so sorry Tom!”
He shakes his head, dusting oat crumbs from his hands and coat. “I’ll get back at you. Don’t know how yet, but count on it.” He tries to make himself seem threatening, but he can’t stop smiling.
“Okay Tom, whatever you say,” you laugh, capping the container of oats and slipping it into your backpack. “So which way are we going?”
Tom points to your left. “Down that way to Fifth Avenue.”
“Have I mentioned how excited I am?”
“No, but I can tell, don’t worry,” Tom replies, smiling.
“How?” You challenge him.
He shrugs. “You have a bit more pep in your step. Your voice just pitched upwards.” Your excitement is adorable and one of your best qualities, he decides.
You both stroll along the side of the museum, looking out for the iconic Met steps and main entrance.
As you pass the fountains off to the side of the steps, you feel your excitement growing. “I feel like I’m in Gossip Girl or in some rom com,” you say happily, pulling your phone out of your coat pocket to take pictures of the museum’s massive entrance, completely mesmerized by the building’s facade and detailed architecture.
Your wonder is so refreshing to Tom. He was used to high snobbery that came with being a celebrity and being around people who thought it wasn’t cool to look enthused by anything. You’re literally a breath of fresh air to him, which in itself was ironic. While you were so refreshing to be around, you stole the air from his lungs. It was like being submerged in a submarine. He should trust that he’s safe within your walls, but at the same time, the weight and pressure of his past constantly threatened to crush him.
