Meeting Iguazu again in my NG+ made me remember how his story gave me complicated emotions. He's always such an ass to you, but he feels very human. Like in a game where everyone is trying to push down their humanity, through implants and re-education like the Vespers, or just military bravado like the Redguns, he burns with it. His constant desperation to be better, and his frustration at not feeling his improvement is honestly relatable and it makes me want to see him succeed. I want him to be the best he can be, and make Michigan and the other Redguns respect him. But he doesn't get that, and I don't get to see it. He dies in a cave and I I'm the one who kills him. At the end of the day, one of us dies down there, and what I'm doing is too important to let it be me, but still I wish I could have seen him improve with me.

One of my favorite things about Iguazu is that the dude is just so fucking pathetic. His motive sucks, his AC sucks, and he never succeeds at anything despite lasting so much longer than basically everyone else. The correct response upon seeing him as the final boss is probably to laugh at him. But despite all of that, when he does his death animation where he lunges at you one last time with a beam saber bigger than his own mech, every single one of us was fucking terrified of him for just a brief moment. Or at least I was. I feel like that means he won in a way.

AC6 is such a wonderful emotional experience. The whole game for your first playthrough is heehee hoohoo look at all these cool characters!!! Are they all so fun and quirky and unique and interesting???

I vividly remember fighting back tears for the whole ending arc of Fires of Raven. I lost so many friends, some at my own hands. I didn't know. I didn't know it would come to this. Im so sorry, everyone. By the time i realized the path i was on, it was too late to save any of you.

Then you do it all again in NG+. Try to be better, make more thoughtful decisions, and fight the right people. Only to find you're still pointing your guns at the people you love.

So you go again, numb to the loss but still desperate for another way.

Only this time, you truly lose everyone. No one you care about survives the Coral Release.

But maybe it's for the best. Maybe you could push forward and build something new on the bones of everyone you sacrificed.
