It's that time again! Time to count up all the words and reflect upon the past year.

And, friends, let me just say I'm really super happy with this years numbers, probably the biggest numbers I've seen in a long time.

This year, I had a new years resolution to post at least 1 writing thing per month, no matter its finished state, thus putting out a lot of WIP Wednesdays this year.

But, along with doing all those WIP Wednesdays, I found I was finishing more writing things this year because of it and... it's kind of amazing to see the progress across this year.

Hello, i was wondering if have you been playing Ikevil. I would love to hear your commentary if you do! (who you like/don't like, who interests you and what do you think about the game overall etc.)

I have been slowly plinking at William's main story, but mostly just checking in for events and any crumb of Jude content I can get. I think all the characters have the potential to be interesting, although I am obviously biased towards Mr. Jazza.

It hasn't gripped me the way some of their titles do but overall I think it is a neat addition to the Cybird stable. It has its moments of being darker for sure, and I enjoy Kate as an MC so far - she's not quite as Pollyanna as some main characters can be. I hope we lean in a lot more on the fantasy angle of things because that's the sort of thing I personally find fascinating - I want to know everything about the Cursed and their abilities. And I hope we get some events with legit tragic ends the way Ikevamp has done on occasion as well...angst isn't my preferred flavor but a dash of it every now and again keeps things fresh.

The Fiery Maestro

Intense and emotional, the prodigy began playing in public at seven years old. He usually spends his days in the mansion’s garden or music room, thinking of new melodies. Despite his hot temper and sharp tongue, there’s a sense of loneliness hidden in him.

Birthday: December 16 [Fun fact: We actually don’t know the real Beethoven’s birthday,, he was baptised on December 17, so it’s generally assumed he was born the day before.]

Height: 162 cm

Occupation: Composer, freelance musician 

Hobbies: Hiking through nature, billiards, card games

Dislikes: Dishonesty, lying

Specialty: Musical improvisation

Weaknesses: Cooking, math

Favourite food: Macaroni and Cheese

Hated food: N/A (Food is little more than sustenance to him. He doesn’t really care for it; if something’s meant to be edible, he’ll eat it. Though, he does prefer more simple dishes)

Ikevamp Beethoven 🤝 This Clavis Ikepri fellow

-Makes the most horrendous soup known to mankind

Jhbdfg But yeah!! Beethoven is straight up a horrible cook,, I actually made a mini scenario based off of this; One time, he was assigned to make dinner for everyone, and uh… The results were less than optimal- Beethoven spent almost two hours in the kitchen, huddled in front of a stove wearing a blue apron, and dinner was served. He made soup, which Doyle later could only describe was “more suited for charitable scraps given to dogs outside taverns.” The beef he did was half done, better suited for an animal. Vegetables floated in the ’soup,’ which was a mixture of water and grease, and the roasted meat looked like it was done in the chimney. 

Of course, no one could say anything about it, because if they did, Beethoven would literally, viciously, mercilessly tear them apart, mostly verbally. (The last time he got really angry, he stormed off to the music room, banged on the piano for like thirty minutes [creating the loudest half hour of everyone’s life], and six piano strings were broken as a result.) So they just kept their heads low and tried to eat. They couldn’t do it. It was barely possible to even choke down a few bites, so they just stuck to the bread and fruit he provided.

He was never assigned to cook dinner ever again.

Vincent, about Beethoven: Whenever I hear such a man march behind me, I can’t help but get nervous. He’s a force to be reckoned with, for sure!

Doyle, about Beethoven: I like his music, no doubt about that. But, it seems like he conducts his music better than his own temper.

Oh, and one more thing about Beethoven!! You know how Beethoven’s speciality in musical improvisation? That’s not an exaggeration- Both the Ikevamp Beethoven and the real figure are actually really good at it-

Beethoven: Daniel Steibelt? …Hah! I haven’t heard that name in a long time. Yes, I remember him quite well. He once challenged me to a piano duel, where we both had to improvise. 

MC: An piano duel?

Beethoven: Yes, though, to be more accurate, they were improvisation contests. These contests were a popular form of entertainment in Vienna’s aristocracy. One nobleman would support one virtuoso pianist, another nobleman would support the other. In the salon of one of the nobles, the two pianists would compete with each other, each setting the other a tune to improvise on, and the playing would go back and forth until a victor was decided.

Beethoven: But I digress. It was agreed that Prince Lobkowitz would sponsor Steibelt and Prince Lichnowsky would sponsor me. The improvisation contest would take place in Lobkowitz's palace.

Beethoven: Steibelt played first. He went to the piano, tossed a piece of his own music on the side and played. Steibelt was renowned for conjuring up a ‘storm’ on the piano, and I must admit, he did this to great effect. He received great applause, and it was my turn to play.

Beethoven: I picked up the music piece Steibelt tossed aside, his own work, and then I turned the paper upside down. I played that piece, sight-reading it backwards and I improvised, imitating and picking apart Steibelt’s so-called ‘storm.’ I played for more than an hour, and I didn’t notice that Steibelt left after only thirty minutes of my playing. 

MC: He left before you finished?

Beethoven: Indeed. After he left, Prince Lobkowitz, the man sponsoring Steibelt, then said to me that he was so humiliated that he would never set foot in Vienna again as long as I lived there. What a foolish thing to promise. 

[And ngl, it was kinda foolish! Beethoven lived in Vienna for the rest of his life, and true to his word, Steibelt never returned. Oh, but Beethoven actually played the first four notes of Steibelt’s piece before varying them… Those four notes would then become the impetus that drove Beethoven’s Third Symphony. That feels like rubbing salt in the wound at that point,,]

Thinking about Ash's post and while IkeVamp may not be my favorite Cybird game (I do love it but it's not like my love for IkeRev)... I have opinions of course but I don't just have negative opinions and I feel like I come across that way sometimes lmfao so since I don't think I said this in enough places, I would like to say that the Last Love event was like one of the best events I had ever played for any game (not just IkeVamp, not just Cybird). It was just so fucking beautiful all around and it was so quality that I'm glad I spent on it to early clear. I don't spend on IkeVamp events often but that was such a fucking top tier A+ event so really kudos to Cybird for that. 😍😍😍

Sorry to bother I really liked your latest request and thought of something pretty much like this with if possible Jean Comte Dazai Napoleon and bif you feel Leonardo too, sorry so much for chosing so many characters but I really love how you write for them , How they will react in their fem s/o having strong trust issues becasue being teased on when she was younger and so there is why she is a bit afraid of showing her weakness and is sensitive at any sarcastic remark toward her, ? Jean

Jean isn’t the kind of guy to make a teasing or sarcastic comment but that doesn’t mean he can’t understand when someone else does. If it’s directed at him, he’d ignore it.

But if the teasing is directed at his choupinette, he jumps to her defense in his sweetly awkward way. “If you are trying to say ma belle is short, then she is. Do you see something wrong with that?”

Jean also likes to remind his love that it’s ok to be sensitive, to have weaknesses. No one can be strong all the time, in all things. “And that is part of your beauty.”

If Jean finds her crying or upset over some remark, he will hold her until the tears dry up. He never invalidates the way the comments make her feel, “Your soft heart is one of the things I love about you.” But he likes to remind her too, that what others say does not change the truth. That she is beautiful and wise and precious.

Le Comte

Le Comte is guilty of gentle teasing, especially when his cherie is being silly about something. Her hurt reaction surprises him and he feels terrible for upsetting her as that was never the intention.

Rather than apologizing directly, le Comte makes an apologetic gesture. Gifts, a night out, an activity of the lady’s choice . . . anything to put a smile back on her face. And when she is happy again, that’s when he will ask her forgiveness and explain what he meant when he hurt her feelings.

Should someone else make his cherie cry, they will have cause for regret. If the offense is small - he will only require an apology. If the offense is great, he will educate them on the proper treatment of a lady, and if they refuse to learn, he will ensure they are never in a position to offend again.

When le Comte realizes how defensive his cherie gets about things she doesn’t know - and other weaknesses - he first treats her to a lovely time out to remind her how much he loves her. Then he sits her on his lap and asks her, “Ma cherie, you know how precious you are to me. Why is it you guard your heart so fiercely?” He will listen to her stories of childhood bullying, then remind her. “You are here now. With me. Let us enjoy this present together and leave the past to itself. It can’t hurt you anymore.”

Dazai

Dazai is absolutely the one to tease. He realizes quickly though how much it bothers his beloved. His commentary only ever elicits defensiveness or tearful retreat. He has a very hard time reining himself in, as humor is his defense mechanism, but for her he will try.

If someone else taunts his beauty, he intervenes with his off the wall humor, and gives them a new target - himself. He knows such comments often come from good intentions or are a reflection of the speaker’s insecurity, so he tries to use these moments as an opportunity to help.

Dazai is bad at apologies. Not because he doesn’t feel he needs to make them or because they are insincere. He is bad at them because he is incredibly sincere and that is a side of himself he struggles to show. When he needs to say I’m sorry to his beloved, he often does so with self-deprecating humor and a sad little smile.

Her defensiveness about mistakes and weakness make him smile. He understands what it is to dislike oneself, to find fault, and to detest failure. “But those are the things that make us who we are. Each mistake, each weakness, teaches us something. Now come here and let me show you everything good I see in you. Do I need to do it with so many kisses? Yes! How else will you remember?”

Napoleon

Napoleon can be an inveterate tease and sometimes, his sarcasm is quite sharp. At first, he thought his beauté was teasing him back with her defensive retorts. Playing along. Until she ran crying from the room after one exchange. After, he does his best to be gentle in speech. “Smile for me, ma belle. There. Now I can die a happy man.”

He absolutely will chase her down if she runs off crying and make her tell him why she is so upset. Napoleon will apologize like a true gentleman, and then like a passionate lover with kisses that speak his heart.

If someone else makes his girl cry, Napoleon has a hard time being reasonable about it. If the jest was cruel, the offender may find himself on the receiving end of Napoleon’s fist or remark as sharp as his sword. If it was meant in friendship, he would gently admonish them.

Should his lover need comforting after being teased or when she feels like she isn’t good enough, Napoleon will take her someplace quiet and beautiful - whether that’s a field of flowers or a tower room with a view, and kiss her tears away. “You are an amazing woman. Don’t let voices from your past define your present, ma belle. If you can’t tell yourself how wonderful you are, then let me show you.”

Leonardo

Sometimes Leo’s teasing is so subtle that his cara doesn’t realize what he meant until later. He doesn’t do it to be cruel, but rather to make her laugh at herself when she needs to. Her angry or tearful reactions won’t change what he does, but he makes sure to give her lots of reassurance too.

He isn’t much for apologies. Leo would rather show his cara how much she means to him than to remind her of how he made her sad or angry. When he does say he’s sorry though, he means it. And he will quickly try to cheer his lover up.

Leonardo doesn’t get visibly angry when someone else teases his compagna. Very little ruffles his feathers. He’s good at turning the comments back on the speaker, giving them a taste of their own medicine with style.

He is a master at reassuring his beloved. “Cara mia, look at me. Why would you let such silly words bring a frown to your beautiful face? Tesora mia, sei un angelo.” His kisses remind her that she is loved and precious, no matter her flaws.

Ikevamp suitors and Chess

So, this has been sitting in my drafts for months because I was too nervous to post it as I've never written headcanons before. I've literally shoved it in queue somewhere so I don't even know when its gonna post. I hope they're ok. Also, this is a pretty long post so I'm gonna put it under the cut.

I started thinking about which suitors would be the best at a game of chess (because I lost...) so I decided to make a post about it.

Warnings: None (except my terrible attempt at humour, you have been warned)

SCORE/10 shows how likely you'd be to win

The 'has won before the game's even started' gang

Arthur - Not much to say about this one. Canonically, Arthur is almost unbeatable at any board game, card game, even games that have been created on the spot (RIP Isaac). So it's obvious he'd take up the first spot on the 'I've got this' team. -1000/10 (it'll only end in tears)

Comte - He's been alive a long time so naturally he'd have spent some of that time mastering this sort of thing. In his 'bad boy' phase the game keeps mentioning, I imagine he was probably a lot like Arthur, even on the gambling front; he probably plays a great hand in poker with that mask he always has on. But on another note, there's even that one 5* card with Leo where the commentary is them playing chess. 0/10 (he'll win and he'll be wearing that smile the entire time) And, that leads me on to...

Leonardo - Last member of the 'you never stood a chance' crew. He is, as the game puts it, a master of all trades, he definitely knows his way around a chess board. He literally has books on military tactics lying around his room so it's safe to say he probably knows what he's doing. He's going at the bottom of this group though because he'd probably let you win just because he loves you, just don't mention him going easy on you because he will show you how he actually plays... 1/10 (if you ask really nicely he'll let you win)

The 'you might be good, but they'll be better' gang

Napoleon - He was the Emperor, what do you expect. He's only in this group because, unlike in war, all of your players are on the board, its much harder to hide any dirty tricks that he might have played on his opponents in his human life. But, unless you are exceptionally good, there's still only a small chance your gonna win this, and he's not one to take pity so he wouldn't go easy on you, if anything winning is something he'd just be able to tease you about later. 2/10 (a bad idea)

Isaac - Logic is his strong suit, so he would be very good at this sort of thing. He'd carefully consider his actions to determine the best possible move so would probably excel at something like chess. His only downfall might be that he could overthink things, especially if his opponent is playing mind games with him, e.g Arthur. 3.5/10 (you could just tease him during the game and he'd lose his focus, but you'd have to live with the fact you cheated to win)

Sebastian - Now hear me out. With the amount of meticulous planning and organisation it takes to keep the mansion running smoothly, he would probably be very good at thinking ahead of his opponent, setting traps and the like. Also with his slight *cough* obsession *cough* with Napoleon, he has probably studied his fair share of military strategy which could come in really handy. 4/10 (if you manage to win, he's not even a sore loser so a pretty safe bet)

The 'can be beaten but you better bring your game' gang

Shakespeare - I mean, if you've played even one route in Ikevamp, you know that he's pretty good at keeping a low profile, whilst causing absolute chaos. You'd think you're doing absolutely fine, in fact you might even think you're winning, but before you can even tell what's happened, the tables have turned and you're down to only a handful of pieces on the board. If you're good at spotting these sort of tricks though, you stand a pretty good chance because its his main strategy. 5/10 (keep your eyes on the game and you'll be good)

Dazai - Dazai, like Arthur, is probably very good at playing mind games, which would give him an edge over his opponent. It would seem like he's playing randomly and you'd have no idea what is a trick and what isn't, but he knows. As long as you can hold your own and keep your head screwed on, you'll have a chance of winning. 5.5/10 (you might win, but at the cost of your sanity)

Theo - This is a tricky one. He probably hasn't played much, probably just played with a client once whilst discussing a deal and decided he should learn a little more in case the situation arises again. I'm putting Theo here because I think he is just a bit more logical than some of the others. 6/10 (if you're an average player, it'll be pretty even)

The 'your best bet at winning' gang

Mozart - He knows what the pieces do, but he doesn't know how to play, if you catch my drift. He spends so much time dedicated to his music he probably hasn't had much practice at it. I still think he'd be decent though because he is organised, perhaps in a similar, but not quite as extreme way as Sebastian. If you consider yourself average at chess, you'd probably be pretty evenly matched with Mozart too. 7.5/10 (if you win, he will sulk about it for the rest of the day)

Jean - He is much better at physical challenges than mental ones like this. He probably doesn't even know the rules but he's a quick learner and you could easily teach him. In fact once he does get a bit of practice in, he might actually be decent at the game, just don't try challenging him to any physical duels and you'll be okay. 8.5/10 (it's only because he doesn't know the rules)

Vincent - He's probably played once before but never really got into it. Vincent would probably be your best bet at winning, purely because he just doesn't know how to play, and would probably only be interested in learning if you wanted him to. He's also a literal angel so he'd probably let you win. 10/10 (you will win, but will you ever actually feel proud about it?)

These characters were picked mainly because I could see you being able to have a very comfortable and open relationship with them. And also for their intelligence 👀 They respect you, your mind, your decisions—everything; Lucien and Comte are the calmer personalities here, while Kiro and Saeyoung are a touch more excitable. The main themes here are of partnership, trust, freedom and intimacy.

Lucien and Comte are my primary picks for you! They’re people who are capable of being deeply empathetic, perceptive and have A+ communication skills. You can always talk to them about anything, without worrying about consequences or judgment. They can judge your moods and needs rather quickly as well, always willing to adapt to them and provide support accordingly. Shakespeare Route PV

The PV for Shakespeare’s Route is now available! In addition, we got a concrete date for his route release in less than 12 days from now! Mark your calendar, it’s Wednesday, September 4, 2019 (4:00 PM JST), just 18 hours before Arthur’s route release on IkeVamp ENG.

We will be translating the entire PV and giving our commentary underneath the cut!

That night’s encounter, being saved by him— was the curtain toward to all tragedy being raised.

Shakespeare: “So you came to know my secret.”

Shakespeare: “Therefore—… Let’s exchange a contract.”

I, who found out “a certain secret”, was kept in captivity by him.

However, being by his side made you come to realize. …His real nature which lies beneath his mask

Shakespeare: “I have to write an even more captivating play. If I were not capable of writing a play that would sweep someone off their feet…”

Shakespeare: “Would have no value or anything as such.”

Even though he knew he must not fall in love, he wants to love you— was what he thought.

As if to ridicule such a gauche love, tragedy assails.

Vlad: “…Disappear, Will.” 

Shakespeare: “Sin is sin. Punishment is punishment. I’m aware these aren’t things I can escape from.”

Having struggled through a myriad of tragedies that assailed, the outcome of our love is—

Shakespeare: “A romance between a vampire and human… it will surely be a drama greater than any other.

Until you become happier than anyone else, the curtain will never fall upon the stage called “Love” that both of you have created together.

Many of the scenes in Shakespeare’s PV allude to Act 2 of IkeVamp’s plot. Most obviously, Vlad’s appearance in the trailer. Keep in mind that Act 2 starts months after MC has arrived at the mansion and decided to stay. So to clear up any misunderstandings, Shakespeare’s route does not take place in Act 2, rather he is the last route for Act 1. On the other hand, from just the PV alone, it seems that Act 2 will be darker and reveal even more of what goes on behind the scenes of the plot conflict.
