Would anyone else say that Rum Bum Bum Aaarambum (from Michael Madhana Kama Rajan, by Ilaiyaraaja ) would fit into the Rockabilly genre? It reminded me of Jailhouse Rock (Elvis Presley) and Roller Skating's My Jam (from Care Bears Unlock the Music though of course that one has more '80's synth and EDM influences as well! The chorus - "ro-o-o-o-roller skating's my jam!" mainly strikes me as similar to Rum Bum Bum Aarambum) which fit into that genre or similar.

As I was sitting in the passenger seats, serving my duty as a daughter to my mother, helping her carry groceries and holding her hand as we walk through dark hallways, I allowed my thoughts to deviate for a moment to the beauty of music. At that moment, me and my mother forgot about all the loneliness we go through, to sing along to the tunes of Ilayaraaja. We were no longer lonely. We became alone, together. An accomplishment only music can bring out. I have always felt like music could solve so many problems. Every bar fight could be stopped if yeh dosti is blasted through the spekaers. A heartbroken man might feel unfinished hope as a pat on his shoulder. A lost man always finds his way back with rahman. there is no lover that havent loved without girish puttencery nor has there been a mother without jaychandran. johnson mash and raveendran mash has cured endless numbers of anxiety attacks and induced melancholy in the monsoon. music makes you want to go back to a time you didnt exist and it makes you want to go to places you have never seen. it makes you love the random stranger who sits with you in the metro, hate the government and create magic potions for your little mushroom friends in your backyard. music makes your feel childish, just like the last sentence. but it's the childishness in you thats yearning to come out. the childishness that disappeared when you first carried the grocery for your mother.
