Idea: The Illusion of Choice
Spolier for the ending of Season 5 of Miraculous Ladubug
Well, by now people know that Gabriel made the Wish and apparently Marinette is keeping Monarch's identity secret from Adrien...
But there is no reason for her to keep the secret from Chat Noir... (except to add drama....)
Or for Plagg to keep the secret from Adrien...
So... why would they, if they did that?
There is a lot of comments about how it would makes sense for Marinette to do that (she do not want to hurt Adrien, she was gaslighted by Gabriel, she do not have evidence (remember how she needed evidence for the class to believe about Lila? Imagine about this!...), etc..) and maybe that could be able to be applied to Plagg (do not want to hurt Adrien, maybe the magic of the Miraculous prevents him to tell...)
But what if there is another reason?
There is one thing that we need to remember... this is a universe created by Gabriel's Wish.
One possibility is that the Wish rewrote Marinette's own memories - she actually do think that Gabriel helped to defeat Monarch. So she is not lying - so far she knows.
But we do not know what Gabriel's Wish actually was... and it opens another possibility...
In their discussion in the Agreste's kitchen, Marinette defended the use of fashion to bring the people's individuality while Gabriel ws about to dictate people's tastes.
Gabriel was not about actual choice, but about giving people the illusion of choice...
What if in his Wish Gabriel defined that Marinette/Ladybug was not able to tell Adrien about being Monarch?
So, Marinette - with her intact memories - would think that she is deciding to not tell Adrien, when she do not have actual choice in the matter - only the illusion of it.
P.S. Maybe she even thinks that Plagg already told Chat Noir, so she do not brings it up, thinking that he - Chat Noir - already knows... while Plagg is actually unable to tell Chat Noir (who is Adrien) himself...
ADDENDUM: actually, I feel that it would be a very interesting possibility - if this scenario is true - not only Adrien discovering the truth, but so why His Lady (and the other people who knew the secrets - Plagg, Nathalie, Felix, Kagami and Emilie (if it is her...)) did not tell him... and how he will manage to free her from the Wish's influence....

either they holdback the insane tickle you’re triggering in them over and over again or they concede and make a complete mess of their face

“The best way of influencing a prospective Starmer Government ... would be through external pressure, through things like the trade unions, through things like the Green Party ...
“When I joined the Green Party, I got a lot of people saying 'Ooh, why the Greens?'. Well look, the Brexit Party was a vehicle to move the Conservative Party to where the Brexit Party wanted it to be. The Green Party can be that vehicle for the Labour Party. And ultimately we want to bring about proportional representation, and we want to highlight and illustrate that this electoral system that we have is not fair; it has effectively created gatekeepers to our democracy who will not allow anything beyond very very narrow parameters to operate … That is a huge democratic problem ...
“All of these things, I think, can be resolved through electoral reform. All of these things can be resolved through ensuring, I think, adequate pressure from the left on the Labour Party that is external to it.”
