To add to your 9am angsty thoughts about Michael, because I was thinking about it: he is probably the loneliest student of his year. He's already at the bottom of the social hierarchy and, based on the way he tries to make friends with Oliver during the dinner scene, he's not very good at that. So yeah, he probably didn't have a single person complimenting him 😭😭😭.

Oh 100% after Oliver leaves him (good riddance asshole), he is entirely alone. And he doesn’t want to be! He was such a good friend to Oliver and it went completely unreciprocated.
