I got 7 reactions to the post I made on this app 8 whole days ago (when most ppl in my area got 2 or 3 at the most). & Several messages I haven't responded to. Tbh I haven't bothered since that first day, bc I got what I wanted out of it (decided to try a hookup and accomplished it 3 days after deciding it), and...

We've still been texting. Sometimes about things that aren't exactly typical of what you'd think for a hookup (emotionally intimate, I guess?). Today we got on the topic of hiking and I mentioned my fav state park & she said she was planning to go there over spring break and said she'd love to bring me with her... which That is a level of accepting me in her life that I think is not typical of just a one-off hookup kinda thing.

i was watching the movie again and went "...wait a second" at the designs of The Gammas (or Gamma Mu Mu). i looked up trivia and couldn't find anything to confirm (or deny, i guess) my thoughts, so i guess?? this is a theory? (someone with a DVD/Bluray version, please check the Special Features for me to see if anyone mentions this. i have no idea) i'm surprised i haven't seen this parallel thrown around more but yeah, i think im onto something if this is a new thought in the Goofy Movies fanbase lol

but yeah, my theory is The Gammas are all based off the classic villains in the Mickey-Donald-Goofy multiverse (plus Bigfoot, but i know many people noticed the redhead member of the Gammas is just "a shaved down version of Bigfoot" from the first "A Goofy Movie" lol)

(also, im a novice at learning about this extended Mickey-Donald-Goofy multiverse, im still new to the Carl Banks comics and havent seen all the media. so forgive me if im wrong at any point and please kindly correct me ♡)

named: Tank — based off of: Pete / Peg Leg Pete (but make him unrelated to PJ, basically) (hence, why he looks the least like his source, if im correct. he has a shirtless scene where he's revealed to have a farmer's tan, that i think you could argue is a very subtle nod that would have been slightly closer to a Pete-like coloration. but yeah, if im right, they had to make Tank's pallette lighter ao he wouldn't be mistaken as a relative of PJ's)

unnamed bearded member — based off of: the main Beagle Boys trio (Babyface) (Bigtime) (if you don't know the lore: there's a lot of Beagle Boys as the gag is they're a BIG family, but the main trio in the original "Ducktales" show is the first set of parentheses. the second set of parentheses is their names in the classic Ducktales comics. both the original "Ducktales" show and the reboot "Ducktales" show features both sets of the trio/s though. though the Carl Barks version of the comics preferred the route of "they go by their prison-numbers rather than their names". also, inbetween the two "Ducktales" TV shows, a lot of Disney media just merged the two trios into one kind-of-amorphous trio, as far as i can tell, like with "Mickey, Donald, and Goofy: the Three Muskateers". but still, they're part of a HUGE family who tend to be clones of said main trio. but i digress. they're a confusing family lmao rip)

unnamed member wearing sunglasses — based off of: the main Beagle Boys trio (Bankjob) (Bouncer) (i like to think his sunglasses (and i guess also the unnamed bearded member's glasses, but mainly these sunglasses) as a homage to the Beagle Boys' black masks lol)

named: Slouch — based off of: the main Beagle Boys trio (Bugle) (Burger) (also: im entirely banking off differentiating Bugle/Burger to Slouch and Bankjob/Bouncer to sunglasses-guy on how Bugle is commonly reffered to as "a hipster" and i personally associate fedoras with a similar type of crowd. i could have those mixed up tho, idk, neither of these guys even have any lines lol but i do like the idea that maybe the fedora is flipped like that as a reference to the Beagle Boys' billed caps? idk, that might be a stretch) (i would also like to mention i hc these guys are The Beagle Brats now in college-age, who are an unnamed trio that goes by "1, 2, and 3" in the comics but, from what i can tell, that the Beagle Brats in general (not 1, 2, and 3 specifically) were first seen(?) in the "Ducktales" original show (who also have a v small cameo in the reboot) that were meant to parallel the triplets Huey and Dewey and Louie; these specific ones im talking about the nephews of the general-amorphous-main-trio of Beagle Boys, but it is possible to call any Beagle Boy who is young a Beagle Brat. but, yeah, i have no basis for why i think Slouch and the other two are specifically the Beagle Brats 1, 2, and 3; that's entirely headcanon)

unnamed member that's a redhead — based off of: Bigfoot in "A Goofy Movie" (again, i know a lot of people caught this one lmao)

unnamed member that has black hair — based off of: Mortimer Mouse (who was once also known aa Montmorency Rodent/Rodawn, but they've been retconned into being the same character by now, but that'a a tangent.) (if you don't know the lore: Mortimer is a bit complicated to describe? but the tldr is that he's basically Mickey's love-rival for Minnie. to go more in depth though, uh, he's more wealthy, usually, and claims to be "in love" with Minnie Mouse but is also a jerk and she generally does not have any interest in him (well, unless the plot the writer wants includes a love-triangle). Pete is usually considered a more recognizable villain, so Mortimer rarely shows up, esp since Pete can be easily be written as also harboring feelings for Minnie. so sometimes shows re-write Mortimer from this personality so he is more distinct, sometimes as a toxic friend of Mickey's or overall bad influence but well-intentioned; so the character has some flexibility. but i know him best, as do many others, via his "House of Mouse" recurring role where he'd show up just to try to break Mickey and Minnie up or otherwise flirt with any female guests. i think he works well in competition wirh Pete, who has more of a Goliath-and-David relationship with Mickey when Mickey and Pete are antagonistic, as Mortimer is an antagonist that is just as clever and capable as Mickey (if not more so, since he is clever, competent, and generally wealthy enough to have more resources than Mickey) but does not have Mickey's sincerity or good intentions. though i dont mind how kid shows re-write him either, i think toxic friends and bad influences are good lessons for children to learn. i like Mortimer being a frenemy who has good intent but bad follow-through lol but anyway, thank you for allowing me this debatably-overexplanation of Mortimer since he's my favorite and also, uh, the only one here where #1 he isnt in the Goofy Movie series and ergo may not be known to others, #2 has a consistent personality beyond "bad guy in story" i can talk about unlike the Beagle Boys trio/s and their huge extended family of might-as-well-be-clones, and #3, again, he's my favorite if you couldnt tell lol) (also, i do think you could argue this unnamed character's quiff is a nod to Mortimer's mouse-ears tho, since there's a curve and all. and then the idea he has some stubble as a possible ref to Mortimer's whiskers is hilarious to me if my theory has water and he was intentionally designed after Mortimer lmao)

anyway, i apologize again if this idea has been discussed before. i really did try to google if anyone was spreading the same idea that The Gammas are just a fun College AU-Variant of these guys already

As A Queer who’s made it in the trades, do you have any advice for other Queers, visible or not, to breaking into the sector?

i don't have any advice for women other than shoot your shot and be brave, because every workplace ive ever been in SAYS they want more women but oh gee women just don't APPLY, but if you look like a guy you just show up, don't pick fights, and let people assume whatever they assume.

if you've never had factory experience before you can either lie or make up a dad who taught you lots of home improvement projects or focus on the physical aspects of other jobs that left you with plenty of experience in packing, handling, basic tool use, forklift driving, truck loading, etc. if you want an actual trade skill you should look up college and trade school classes, or see if you can join a union and get classes from a union hall, or, again, lie your way in.

like. so many young men in the trades are so so bad at their jobs, it's expected that every now and then a dumbass on too many drugs is hired and he breaks important things and turns up late and falls asleep somewhere weird for awhile before getting fired again. ive watched at least eight of these men cycle through my factory in the last year. the last one ran over a welding machine with a truck before breaking his leg by dropping a beam on himself and then quitting because he wasn't getting paid enough (mood). so like if you show up and are a dumbass that arrives on time, works late, cleans up their area, and doesn't break anything too expensive, and doesn't mysteriously vanish after a month, you have a good shot at keeping your position forever. im genuinely not very good at my job and at least one guy everywhere i work hates me for being a mouthy little fag, but the state of the trades is that if you're not actively on drugs and fire and trying to punch your boss, you probably get to keep your job indefinitely.

my other advice is: if you're trans, and you work in manufacturing, do your best to pass and never admit you're trans. things get bad weird, very fast, and you're surrounded by big guys with power tools. you don't have to pass very well, because the trades are full of a wide variety of the weirdest men in the world and almost none of them have a functional gaydar, but you do have to at minimum not volunteer the information that you're trans.

like. you can if you want. the results will be educational. but no one will be learning anything they wanted to know from this event.

EDIT: start working out though. you NEED to be able to safely lift 30-40lb to start out with and 50-100+ is ideal. if you can't carry around 50 lb for at least a short ways (on and off trucks, on and off tables, on and off dollys) you're risking throwing your back out which is a lifelong bigtime problem. make sure you can lift, bro!

hiii im going to be living w my aunt over the summer and therefore buying my own groceries. I am going to be busy w summer classes and working on the weekends but I do rlly want to try cooking at least once or twice a week. I can make an egg and pasta but that’s about it. What are some of your fave recipes that aren’t super complicated that I could start with if you have any? (I am open to a minor challenge but cooking can overwhelm me so I like a challenge but not too much of one lol). I am also vegetarian (not vegan) if that matters! now it's been a little while for me since i've had to use this model due to moving back home w my family for a time but when buying groceries for one person i found it helpful to follow this sort of structure about once a week! when i do this it feels a lot easier to 'wing it' in the kitchen and mix and match my meal components. and to preface, this is what i find to be helpful and everyone is different and finds different things to work for them!!

1-3 protein sources - i like to center my meals around this because i've found it helps me feel the most nourished and full, i always think of it as things that can be the 'star' of your dishes. i eat meat so i usually do salmon, chicken thighs, and alternate pork + beef. but for u that could b things like tofu, eggs, beans/lentils, mushrooms maybe, vegetarian 'meat' fakes lol, peanut butter if u like any peanutty noodle dishes

3-4 veggies - i love to snack on veggies so i usually get snap peas, cucumbers, + bell pepper just for snacking, and then something like brussel sprouts for roasting as a side dish w a dinner, these can also be frozen

2-3 types of fruit - i am a smoothie enjoyer bigtime so i get a combo of frozen and fresh, almost always mango, and then whatever is seasonal that i can see myself being excited to eat throughout the week

2-3 grains - pastas, premade pizza crusts, bread, rice, etc!! these rly round out ur meals!! and imo they make it simpler to make a meal on the fly. i am a huge fan of microwave rice LOL

2-3 multipurpose dips/spreads/sauces/condiments/pantry items - now here is ur golden ticket for being able to reliably make well rounded and varied meals!!! slowly building up your collection over time is the most cost effective way imo. it's helpful to stock up your pantry w things like baking supplies (flours, sugars, leaveners), spices, shelf stable canned goods (canned tomatoes, beans, vinegars, oils, soy sauces, fish sauce, cartons of things like oak milk), and 'fridge pantry' items (parmesan, herbs, lemons for juice and zest, miso, gochujang, ketchup, mayo, hot sauce, jam, pickles, etc). you can use these to season your food as you cook!

2-3 snacks/frozens - any microwave meals or chips or desserts you might want!!

using this structure makes it easier to look at what you have and be like, i have xyz and they would go together well.

EX. i have rice, tofu, and bok choy, now i can cook the rice and pan fry the tofu and bok choy with my pantry ingredients (soy sauce, miso, sesame oil, chili oil) and create a filling meal!

some of my favorites that could be made vegetarian -

ground pork seared on the bottom of a dutch oven in patties (you could sub tofu or use a fake meat replacement), broken up into smaller chunks, eaten with linguine, sliced snap peas or celery, + a garlicky peanut butter sriracha sauce

pizza w a store bought crust!! super easy, done in like 10 minutes! i like to make mine in a cast iron following this protocol

i really love to dress up ramen w sliced veggies and eggs

i like to make pasta dishes and then form a sauce w parmesan cheese, butter, pasta water, lots of lemon zest and juice and sometimes chicken stock, then adding in peas and fresh herbs at the end

Quick disclaimer: I’d like to thank both of you for all the work you’ve done running this tournament, and I still think the final match-up was a great one. The results have really gotten me down, though. Bigtime. Nichelle’s win in the semifinal round gainst a hugely tumblr-popular (and more contemporary) opponent with a bigger body of work came as a delightful surprise, but somehow it’s made her loss a huge bummer to me. Eartha Kitt was lovely—I’m not hating on her at all! (To be clear, I’m also not suggesting there was any kind of “rigging” going on…how would that even happen, lol). It just seems super weird that I never saw any propaganda submitted for her vs. the metric ton of Nichelle propaganda you all received. And even though life’s not fair, it does seem a little unfair (and a little…boring?)—at least to my whiny butt—that the same actress won BOTH the hot vintage movie star poll and the hot vintage TV star poll…especially since her opponent didn’t ever get to become a movie star, at least not beyond a role she’d made iconic on TV.

Anyway, thank you all again for all you do! I’m still looking forward to the men’s tourney, even though I know for sure that my faves are going to be knocked out super early. Just wanted to share my thoughts/distress here instead of shouting them into the void that tumblr dot com can be. Obviously, I got way too invested, haha.

Oof I definitely understand anon and I’m sorry the results were a bit disappointing. I think both women were lovely and equally deserving and personally would have loved to have gotten a tie to crown them both but I’m happy for everyone who really wanted the Eartha double crown!

Now that I can speak freely about my personal preferences, I am a huge Star Trek fan and I adore Nichelle Nichols! She was my number 1 for this competition and I was so ecstatic to see so much love for her throughout the competition! But I’d be lying if I said we both weren’t a lil sad about not getting a Nichelle Nichols upset win or a fun double crown tie! However I do adore Eartha Kitt and she is definitely deserving of a double crown so I’m not at all upset that she won!

Definitely no harm in being a bit upset about the results of something you were invested in and cared about, as long as you’re able to calm down and move forward at the end of the day that’s what matters. YUU LOVES THEME PARKS!!!! she likes cute themed displays you can walk through like toontown at disney world. minnie's house is her dream aesthetic... she is Not afraid of scary or fast rides tho. haunted house? ur coming with her. crazy roller coaster tycoon death trap ride? YOU ARE GOING ON IT!!! definitely takes choro on a theme park date and overdoes it on the fast and scary rides ending with him soooooo sick bc he can't bring himself to say no to anything lol. its all part of the master gameplan so she can be like hehe come with me and sit on this bench... just lie down on my lap for a while it's dark and they're starting the firework show anyway!! ^_^

Dont get me wrong, Mim's selfish too, but not quite as selfish enough to completly ruin another persons life for some muns. This eventually pushes Mim to join the heroes, Jack joins them too.... eventually

Spoilers for the recent BITB part like bigtime under the cut i guess. Mostly all map talk about bugs though :} (no pics of bug dw) plus another organ we can compare it to!

Honestly when I looked at the map of Galloway to begin with, I never really thought brain, I moreso thought of lungs from the first episode. Though Charlie did still say the map had little clues in it so I'm still SUPER curious as to WHAT exactly these are.

The Game Store is our first obvious clue. With how we know that the 'clickers' or the Hive in the Bayou, the Game store having a dragonfly instead of an actual dragon circling the tower depict the bug motif the story has going.

The Diner also vaugely resembles a bug of some sort, moreso a beetle. If you can't see it, look at the two lights hanging off of the side and the shape of the roof. compare that to a beetles back. yeah! Plus it looks like its getting up in the corrupt map and I enjoy it a lot.

Going into Bee teritory now, a lot of the 'focal point' trees have lanterns in them which can kinda look like little beehives in the trees in 'hub' points of the town.

-The Library's roof literally looks like a book.

-In the second map, you can actually infer that this is Rolan's house

because Rolan had folks up on the roof doing some shit and this is the only house WITH shit on it's roof. Probably not really his house but idk it looks like it'd have a crawlspace with it's raised portion.

-The stack shack looks a little bit like a boat if i squint hard enough! (the lower part then the raised part at the back.)

-The Rowing Club is very evidently out of business and Rolan's seen 'bodies in the water', my inference is telling me these two are connected for some reason idk

If we wanna get back into the shape of the map, Galloway looks like an upside down set of lungs. Been thinkin it sicne the first episode tbh, especially with how the walls of it are describe as pulsating, like breathing! The lower part (cemetary) reminds me of the diaphram, signifie in a different colour. Plus the roads match up to how often lymph nodes are drawn.

That and or just an organism in general. As organisms often have this wall thing that only lets certain things in and out (i forget the actual science term for it but yeah! there's like a layer of wall that lets certain things out and stuff.

I do wanna mention (although unrelated to the map entirely) that the fact that Galloway is almost like a layercake in on itself, the waterbeds wrapping around to the sky to rain blood down and as we can see with Rolan he can just sorta look back down on it. Which makes me think the water is gonna completely drain or some shit. probably not though idk.

Insert something cool here about water filling lungs and the body trying to expel the water from them and drowning and stuff. I can't words right now its getting late-

There's SOMETHING I want to say about the factory (with the bee motif and all) being the ONLY place in Galloway surrounded with wheat and plantlife. Worker bees and pollination after all but i cant think of anything smart to say :| I think our R&R alive boys should climb the watertower and crack a beer when this is all over though.
