Okay hello I have an odd question. I've been writing fanfic for a couple years now and I don't have any friends who share the same passion as me - not that I know of anyway. I'm a super anxious person and don't know how to message people. How were you able to find internet friends that you could share all this with?

hello love!! most online friends I've made over the years come from tumblr or discord which I feel have the benefit of being like, larger scale than a one on one DM. I'm not. The best at knowing why people like me I feel like I just sorta stumble into things. But I think there's something to be said for 1) meeting folks where they're at (replies of their posts, ao3 comments, larger server convos) rather than DMs and 2) asking questions/showing genuine interest in Them
