over my head - lit overwhelm is a v system feel for us ig? ok ill own it this is mostly here to lift up the mood at the end.
imaginary friend (english version) - itzy ok this song is the whole reason this playlist exists. hosts partner is real into kpop and was listenin to this and we started laughin about how big the system mood is with this one and how"LYRICS GUY YR EXPERIENCES ARENT UNIVERSAL." it made me wanna see how many songs i could find about the system experience tho. i dont like kpop. at all. but this one speaks 2 me.
@endogenesis-evangelion @lizardywizard @furyfuzz @eklesia-system @thegmsys @the-masked-bandits-system all either wanted to see this playlist or recced songs to put on it. i didnt get to everyones songs so if u want urs on here- well ill see if i can cram it in somewhere lol

well since i was asked for it (tags from this post, ty @x-i-l-verify) and i’m too deep in hyperfixation mode to shut the fuck up......
i will try to keep this short lol. anyway, spoilers:
so unfortunately i can’t seem to find the exact post that kicked off this entire train of thought right now, but there’s been a lot of theorizing about the scrybes as being representative of different aspects of game design over in the inscryption subreddit, and i..... may have accidentally developed an entire reading of this game hinged around this idea??
fundamentally, i think, inscryption is a game about games, in the same vein as, say, undertale and oneshot are. more specifically, the plot of inscryption hinges on the philosophies behind What, Exactly, makes a good game? and each scrybe essentially acts out the aspect they represent.
p03 represents the mechanics of a game. i feel like the running thing with them, in their act 2 fight and as how they are as a gm throughout act 3, is the challenge of understanding fully just How the game works, the fun found in the challenge of strategy and leveraging the rules, and if there’s an expression of care present with them it’s found in the love you feel for something you’re driven to get inside of and Understand.
and this is the lens through which we see everything in act 3. it’s about p03, and the love of mechanics, and presenting the player with a Good game based on that philosophy, but it’s also about the aspects of the other scrybes, and what’s missing without them now that we know what the game should have been. and i think the uberbot fights really get at this, both through how p03 misunderstands what the other scrybes fundamentally are, and through the things so essential to each scrybe that they cannot be overwritten even as they are pushed out of the game, and how the love of each for their aspect is filtered through p03′s love of theirs.
grimora, as i was saying, represents lore. i more or less covered her so i won’t spend much more time here, but it’s interesting to see how what is presented as love of the individual cards, the sentimentality of writing them epitaphs and returning them to our hand transformed but there (grimora and the idea of transformative work as an expression of care, anyone?), is now repackaged as love of data. how big is your file? how old? it doesn’t feel like her. grimora doesn’t ask about stats. that’s p03′s thing, seeping through in the representation. but fundamentally she Is the archivist, the one who records the lore because she loves it, and there’s that sort of love of Knowing something that’s a common thread between her and p03 that becomes apparent when she’s filtered through them like this. and it becomes the love of information. give me your oldest file, and i will make it into a card, and you will not want to let it die. it’s the part of her that’s there no matter what.
leshy is the love of story, of narrative. the thesis of act 1, of the building rouguelike loops, of the way his game is presented, is that your decisions may feel difficult, or horrible, or weighty, but ultimately through those choices you have been setting yourself up for success all along. even in supposed failure, you’re helping yourself. it’s a collaborative narrative, the story of how the player wins, because that’s what a good game should do. it should tell a story with you. it should tell you you matter. and it’s there in act 2 as well, the act of making a new card from your first three plays and combining them to give you something stronger. telling you the story of how your choices mattered. and,,, honestly, the whole point is that leshy and p03 have so little in common, that they hold no love for the others’ aspect, but the game is not complete without either of them. and the photograher is the perfect filtering of that idea of narrative and choice through the lens of mechanics. it’s not leshy. he’s not there, and what is there is what p03 misunderstands of him. but the thing that remains is that your choices set you up for success, though this time in the form of strategy, of capturing your best moves and resetting to them to get you out of a bind. because your choices matter, and this is the fundamentally leshy thing that cannot be removed, and the shared thread of care between story and mechanics that comes out in filtering one through the other.
i’ve been working off of the idea of magnificus as representing art, but i’ll be honest i pulled my 69/69 oroborous on this poor tree and 2-shot him back in act 2, so i have a lot less to say about that. (and SHIT is it a testament to how goddamn good this game is, that i regret doing that so much because now i’ve missed out on a big chance to learn about him and about what he means to the game). that being said, i definitely am internally poking at magnificus’ associations with art as a transformative work and as an essential component of making a game complete – hello painting over the cards to give them stronger sigils? again, i deeply regret 2-shotting this fight. i am a Fool. THAT BEING SAID, OH BOY WAS THE UNFINISHED BOSS MY FAVORITE FIGHT IN THE WHOLE GAME SO FAR. PICKING THE RULES!!!!!! STACKING THEM!!!!!! HAVING TO ACCOUNT FOR ALL THE EXTRA MECHANICS YOU’VE PUT IN AND JUST THE SHEER POSSIBILITY OF WHAT THAT FIGHT CAN BE!!!!!!! THE WAY NO TWO PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HAVE THE SAME FIGHT BECAUSE OF THAT!!!!!!! IT’S SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it’s magnificus’ love of creation and p03’s love of the rules and just what you can do with them to make a game fun and interesting combined and it’s SUCH A GOOD FIGHT!!!!!!!!!! and man, hey, somebody on this site once pitched p03 as representing creation and art through a digital medium, as opposed to the other scrybes and their associations with traditional art forms, and this does SO much for that!!! and while we’re talking inscryption as a game about Creating Games, having a boss fight ABOUT GAME DESIGN IS SO FUCKING COOL AND ALSO games ARE an art form!!!!! video games are an art form!!!!! what magnificus does is art, but what p03 does is art too, and there’s so much CREATIVITY that has to go into building a game that is fun to play mechanically and is atmospheric and engaging enough to hook players in. it’s all art, and they’re both artists in their own way, and this fight is the essence of what games Can Be as a medium and i love it so so much.
.. so much for keeping this short. i’ll see myself out. yeah.
#listen. many thoughts head full. made my own post bc i didn’t wanna distract from the very good archivist art but yeah.#something something p03/g0lly is fundamentally nd but maybe im reading it that way bc im nd#but i never felt like p03 wasn’t expressing genuine care for the game he was giving us? they’re an asshole but they care <3#i dunno. perhaps she’s from what the game could’ve been. y’know. had the scrybes collaborated and cared for each other’s aspects#but therein lies the tragedy#and also the thesis#the game’s incomplete without all the scrybes#even in their own sections they have to draw on each other to deliver a game worth playing to the player#i dunno. i think about how sacrificing stoat!p03 when you’re learning leshy’s game is what makes what that act Is *click* at the start#like constantly. i think about this constantly.#inscryption is about how the game designer makes the player care and about how and what we assign weight to it’s about love it always was#(no romo. just#the love put into creating a thing and giving it to someone to experience.)#many thoughts head full all the time all the time#and none of the thoughts are connected sorry you’re on brain dolphining with me#anyway#inscryption#the paranoid android speaks!#also yes 69/69 oroborous was on purpose. nice. ;)#:0 oh shit this is getting attention so i wanna credit twixt for hitting me w/ the V GOOD the scrybes act as their aspects in the game

could i request some more content from that short monty scenario you did? i uh, forgot what you titled it but its the most recent one you did (if that helps-) i really wanna know what happens next! also im a sucker for monty 🄓
Ah, Birthday Treasure? Sure! Animatronic or android, does not matter. The ending is vague as I didn't know if I wanted a good or bad ending.
(S/N) means sibling name, not sister name in this. (Unless...they are a sister, then have fun?)
Birthday Treasure
Yandere! Montgomery Gator Scenario (Part 2)
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Possessive behavior, Kidnapping, Manipulation, Sadism, Mentioned violence, Mentioned thoughts of murder, Robot gaining sentience, Swearing, Threats.
Tumblr media
Birthday party gone wrong... that's what this was. A simple birthday party with your sibling quickly turned into you fighting for your life.
You shouldn't have trusted the gator bot in the first place. It was clear he had malicious intentions from the start.
Why else would he be so close to you and only you?
"You're spacing out, rockstar~ Don't you wish to hear the rules? I could always not tell them to you."
You snap out of your paranoid thoughts, the bot now standing in your personal space. You go to back up only for his claws to keep you still.
"Nah, now that you're this close I'll keep you here until our game begins. Now listen..."
His glasses are now fully taken off so his gaze is on you.
"How about this, I'll give you a chance to find your sibling while we play. Your goal will be to look around for them. My goal, heh, I feel is real obvious."
Claws graze your skin, you wonder why they are so sharp. Did a robot need knives on their hands if they worked with children?
"I get to hunt you down and catch you. It'll be fun to know how well you can endure me!"
A roaring laughter comes from the bot before he distances himself from you.
"But I'll try not to be unfair! You'll get a head start. I'll give you 30 minutes before I begin. It'll be best if you start running now, rockstar!"
Not giving him any other chances to talk, you begin your journey to find your sibling.
"I just hope your safe...."
----
"(S/N)? (S/N)!" Your quiet calls ring softly through the Pizzaplex. Unfortunately you're forced to be quieter than you'd like to be due to the gator hunting you down.
If you were to trust the bot, which was admittedly hard to do, your sibling was somewhere in this labyrinth of a building. It was your task to find them.
You just hoped if you succeeded you could go home, sibling in hand.
Yet it didn't look to be that easy.
Who knew if he was telling the truth?
"I can hear you...."
Monty sounded close, cautiously you keep to the shadows before continuing your search.
Attraction after attraction is looked over by you. You barely can find any signs of your sibling. Worry pools into your stomach while you jog up an escalator that was shut off.
"(Y/N)...?"
You pause, looking around.
"(S/N)? Damn it...where are you?"
Maybe that's why you couldn't find them. They got concerned that Monty wasn't looking for them and started moving around. Now you might have a chance.
"Stay there...! I'll find you!"
They make a noise of confirmation before you continue in the direction you heard them in.
Only to jump back when you see Monty shoot up an escalator with incredible speed, claws out.
"There you are!"
His laughter is mocking while you stay away. You were so close...they're definitely here!
"Haven't found them yet? Poor (Y/N).... You're going to lose the game at this rate!"
You shake your head, keeping distance.
"See that? I love when you make that expression...! So vulnerable and scared. That look should only ever be for me...."
The gator begins to close in on you, mouth gaping in a sadistic grin.
"Scratch that... I want everything of yours! You'll be mine once I catch you! That little tyke is helping me way more than they think... how naive! Wonder how they'll feel about the fact they're lending a hand in your downfall!"
"(S/N)! Go hide, I'll be a bit!"
Monty glares at you through his glasses.
"Rockstar...I think our game is over. You're mine now. A few more steps and I'll corner you. Don't worry, I'll keep them here too. If that'll keep you 'docile'."
Monty sounded degrading, much different from his persona in the day. Behind Monty you see your sibling. Squinting you can tell they're holding something.
A camera...how clever.
They point to it before gesturing to their face.
'Take off the glasses.'
You turn your eyes back towards Monty, who's at this point pressing you against the wall. A growl comes from him along with a smirk.
"That's right...I've won. I'll keep you all to myself~"
His claws hold your face up. Red eyes stare into you through his glasses, you maintain eye contact before 'playfully' stealing them. Monty pauses, shocked that you held them.
"Acting cute, huh? You're lucky I like you-"
There's a flash before the large bot roars and backs off, claws covering his eyes.
"Great job, (S/N)! Let's go...."
They smile at you with watery eyes, grabbing your hand and fleeing with you.
"I missed you...."
----
Just as your hope felt it was dwindling... you found them.
You found them and they saved you from near failure. Who knew what fate was held in those claws.
You still held the glasses you stole in your hand, the other holding the smaller hand of your sibling.
Now your plan was to not be separated. If you could survive together for a little longer then you were out of here.
In the distance you heard angered roaring. It felt as though Monty was throwing a tantrum. His rage was destructive, you were just happy you weren't too near him right now.
Finally you made it to the main entrance. Your sibling looks out the window in earnest.
"Will we get to go home?" They ask softly. You bite your lip, weighing your response.
"We...will, no worries."
You put a hand on the shutters, wondering if it would be possible to open them. Unfortunately your fingers trace along a lock and you sigh. Hopefully it was almost opening time.
"(Y/N)...I thought I heard you down here...."
You quickly grab your sibling's hand and pull them with you to get out the gator's sight.
"What a bold move. Siblings working together to fool the big ol' gator. Do you really think you're winning?"
His footsteps are heavy, voice growling in annoyance.
"Why can't you understand? I already said you lost! You're mine and you can't change that now! You and that tyke...at this point I wouldn't hesitate to hurt them for that! Now come out and I'll go easy on you!"
Your sibling starts to cry. You carefully hug them tight, taking the camera into your hands and aiming for the direction Monty was coming from.
"(Y/N)!"
Monty roars, ready to pounce.
"STAY BACK!"
Before you could click the camera's button, the gator twitches and stops.
It's almost as if the gator seized before slumping over, unmoving.
"Holy shit...you okay?"
You pull down the camera, your sibling hugging you tightly. A blonde woman appears from behind Monty with a device in hand. You look between the bot and her, fear evident.
"Thank you...."
The woman looks at you and your sibling before realization hits.
"You're the ones security couldn't find!"
You nod softly, your sibling turning to meet the woman.
"Why are you here!?"
"Feel free to ask your bot that...." You shiver, looking at the deactivated gator.
"Well, I can look at what's recorded in his memory... for now, come with me to the security office. Let's get you taken care of after I figure out why Monty went rogue."
"Right...again, thank you-"
"No problem...."
Slowly you step around Monty, following the woman. Your sibling follows you while you're led to the security office.
You can't wait to get home.
Your family must miss you-

Radiohead Fun Facts <3
Fun fact about Radiohead: I know none of the names of the guys and i only know what the one singer guy’s face looks like bc i saw it once somewhere
Fun fact 2: I should probably learn about the individual guys but I don’t because I dont really care that much
Fun fact 3: i should learn abt the bassist tho bc im a bassist and he’s a pretty good bassist so maybe i could learn a thing or two (like this guy is a REALLY good bassist)
OKAY NOW IM GONNA TALK ABT THE ALBUMS IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER BUT ONLY THE ONES IVE LISTNED TO
Pablo Honey (1993) - this one is Radiohead's first album and tbh it’s not very good. even if you don’t listen to this band or care about them you probably know the song Creep which is on there. tbh that’s probably the best song on the album and the Radiohead guys themselves don’t even like it that much. They were like ā€œCreep? more like Crap!ā€ (tbh the song isn’t *that* bad, just nowhere near as good as their later music) I’ve tried to get through this album a couple times but i could never do it bc it’s just not that good!!! It seems like it was riding off the grunge wave that was really popular at the time. This means not only did the album not have that much of an original sound but also there were tons of other bands doing this sort of thing and doing it better. Creep is probably the song that has the most unique sound compared to the rest of that album. Also grunge (while more of an era than a genre) is mostly known for who it was sparked by, Nirvana, and Nirvana is punk rock through and through. The Radiohead guys are way to big of nerds to do punk rock. The Bends (1995) - this is Radiohead’s second album and I like this one a lot. It bares some similarities to Pablo Honey in terms of keeping with a little bit more of a rock sound but it doesn’t feel like it’s trying to copy anybody. The lyrics on this album are WAYYYYY better. Like a vast vast improvement. The guitar solos are much better too. The most popular songs on this album I’d say are High and Dry as well as Fake Plastic Trees, these also are probably my least favorite songs on the album because they’re slower and I don’t like the vocals in them as much as other songs. My favorite songs from this album are Just, My Iron Lung, and (Nice Dream), these ones all have more of a rock element than the ones I mentioned previously and the instrumental parts are So Good! Even though I think this album is a vast improvement from the first it still doesn’t completely have it’s own unique sound just yet. I don’t see that as much as a hinderance on this album, just something that puts it below some of the later albums.Ā  OK Computer (1997) - THIS ALBUM! This is the album where Radiohead really comes into their own sound, it still has that rock element but it feels different. All the little details and textures in their sound come together in this great album and puts Radiohead on a clear track for where the rest of their sound ends up in later albums. This album seems to be *The* Radiohead album that most people would know them for beyond knowing them for the song Creep. This album also is pretty special/nostalgic to me because it was the first Radiohead album I listened to. Deadass I spent most of my middle school years listening to that album on and old hand-me-down mp3 player my dad gave me that just had his old music saved to it. I don’t know if i have a least favorite song on the album, all the songs on this album are really good if I’m being honest. If I had to pick a few favorites I’d say they would be Exit Music (For A Film) and Paranoid Android, I like these songs because they feel like they’ve got a lot of story to them just shown through the instrumentals and everything. Also fun fact! I know the bass part to Paranoid Android, it’s still difficult at some parts for me to play but I still love it.Ā  Kid A (2000) - Okay ngl I still haven’t given this one a good listen just yet. I’ve listened to the thing in full maybe once or twice but I don’t remember it well. I have listened to the songs Everything In Its Right Place and How to Disappear Completely quite a few times tho and these songs are amazing. From what I’ve heard from this album/remember from it it seems like a pretty logical next step sound wise from the last album going into the next one. It’s not completely different from OK Computer but it’s definitely it’s own unique thing. The songs on this album are a bit more depressing and more of them seem to be slower and more experimental. You also see a stronger ambient element enter Radiohead’s music here. Amnesiac (2001) - DREAD!! DEVESTATION!!!! This album is really good, I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite album but by god it is a good fuckin album. I’ve listened to this one in full quite a few times in full but it’s been a while since I’ve done that (I’ve just been listening to a song or two from it every so often) because when I first gave this album a full listen I was at a pretty low place. This album has the strongest ambient element Radiohead’s music has had so far, the sound is slower, darker, and heavier. It feels like you’re sitting in the cold rain just soaking wet and not moving at all. The songs are even more depressing too tbh. Once again I don’t have a least favorite song on this album, at least not one that I can remember. My favorite songs would probably be Knives Out, I Might Be Wrong, and You And Whose Army? Top 10 bangers to listen to while absolutely falling apart imo 10/10
Hail To the Thief (2003) - This album is also really good, I actually own this one on vinyl. This album sees that distorted rock element come back a little but this album does have some of the ambient vibe to it as well. It feels a bit more experimental and emotions wise it feels angrier than other albums, not in a punk rock kind of way but just in feeling. I think this album starts to have some crazier rhythms, I’m not sure how to describe it. It feels more advanced than some of their previous music. Some of the songs on this album I’m not the biggest fan of but they’re still good songs it’s just some of the other songs on this album really outshine some others. My favorites from this album are 2 + 2 = 5, Backdrifts, There, There, and Myxomatosis. If I’m being honest while I do like this album a lot I don’t have too many strong feelings about it.
In Rainbows (2007) - OH MY GOD!!! THIS ALBUM!! OH MY GOD!! I love it so much it’s so beautiful. It really encompasses everything I love about Radiohead it’s almost hard to describe. The rhythms are hypnotic, the lyrics are great, the vocals are stellar, the instrumentals- just oh my god I love it to death. I own this one of vinyl and it puts me in a trance whenever I listen to it. There are different emotions in each song on this album but it never falters. It reminds me of something my dad said once where we were listening to a song and he saidĀ ā€œjust ride the waveā€ - this is that type of music, the kind of music where you just sit back and ride the wave. I love every single song on this album but Weird Fishes/Arpeggi and Jigsaw Falling Into Place are my top picks for this album. I’ve been working on learning the bass part to Jigsaw Falling Into Place and while I’m not musically literate enough to express exactly what’s happening in this song because I’m not a fucking nerd but I can say that playing this song is like riding the wave, it’s not exact or repetitive but it moves and flows perfectly with the song. Learning music like this as a bassist has taught me to think differently about my own playing. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite Radiohead album for many reasons but if you put a gun to my head and made me choose one I’d say this one is it.Ā
A Moon Shaped Pool (2016) - There’s a big time skip here because I haven’t listened to The King of Limbs which came out in 2011 but the sound of this album is definitely something that seems like a more evolved version of what Radiohead did on In Rainbows. Holy shit though, this album. THIS ALBUM. This album fucking knocks it out of the park it’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever listened to. A lot of people like to say this is Radiohead’s most depressing album, they’re wrong, I can’t speak to albums I haven’t listened to but I can say that Amnesiac is much more depressing than this album. I would call this Radiohead’s saddest album, it has that feeling to it but it’s not draining to listen to in the way that depressing music can be. While the album is sad it also brings me a feeling of peace when I listen to it (though this could be in part because of the associations I have with this album from the first time I listened to it). While In Rainbows is like riding the wave I’d say this album is like floating in dark water, its got that sense of flow while being more gentle about it. The first song on the album, Burn the Witch, doesn’t seem to fit in perfectly with the rest of the music but it’s not a completely jarring difference from the rest of the songs either so I don’t see it as any sort of hindrance on the quality of the album. Once again I love every song on this album, they’re all beautiful and ethereal, but my top picks would have to be Decks Dark and Present Tense. One of my most favorite things about this album is how every song seems to flow into the next, it really is the sort of album that’s meant to be listened to in order and as an entire piece of art. I really appreciate albums that do that sort of thing.
Alright those are my Radiohead thoughts for the time being. I haven’t listened to In Rainbows (Disk 2) or The King of Limbs in full, I haven’t really listened to Kid A much either but I figured it was important to mention anyway bc people talk about that one so much. I also didn’t mention any singles or EPs just bc I haven’t listened to all of them and didn’t feel like talking abt the ones I have listened to.Ā
IF YOU READ THIS FAR WE CAN MAKEOUT!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU THANK YOU FOR READING!!!
