Drawing a timeline from Xu Shanshan's kidnapping and Lu Guang's stabbing in season 1 to the tunnel fight in s2ep12 for a fic.

I'm trying to be generous in my timing while also following canon and they really have a shitty 5-6 days huh. Like in that week alone: (list under cut)

Their friend got kidnapped

Trap a killer in their house

Cheng Xiaoshi witness an almost suicide, a murder and an almost murder

Lu Guang got stabbed, Qiao Ling got possesed

CXS was arrested, thought LG dead

Finally reunited, thank god

The night raid happened

CXS watching Xixi's trauma, witnessed 2 more murders

Weird interrogation, turns out was a plot for an attempt kidnapping

LG actually did got kidnapped

Only clue being a mute and traumatized girl

Unprofessional medical help was not nice, was it LG?

Hostage exchange, but hey cool costume right?

An actual successful attempt to kidnap CXS via gun to the head

A bomb. LG and QL was caught in a bomb explosion.

The whole tunnel fight, and yes I will go into more detail

Stupid made up his own trauma man Qian Jin was there.

So a (not) murder, QJ was real quick on shooting Ma

CXS almost gotta fight Li Tianchen alone

LG and QL to the rescue. Too bad LG got tased and his wound reopened

Witness another murder, now of a scared girl who just wants her good brother

CXS got shot by this stupid lawyer

CXS and LG gotta fight this buff ex-cop while injured

They got beaten pretty badly too

QL gotta help a dying girl, the got trauma dumped via dying girl ability transfer.

But hey at least for half of these they were looking good with those theater clothes

Cheng Xiaoshi, oblivious as all hell: "Wow! I can't believe Xu Shanshan and Dong Yi were interested in each other! Lu Guang, did you know?"

Lu Guang, dramatically and ridiculously in Cheng Xiaoshi for years, living with him, sleeping in the same bed(frame), eating and working together: "Yeah why?"

Cheng Xiaoshi, dumb as a brick: Wow, that must be difficult. Being in love with your best friend, and never knowing whether they feel the same.

Lu Guang, breaking something in his fists: "Mmmmm."

Cheng Xiaoshi, pure of heart, dumb of ass: "I mean, if only one of them had Dropped Hints that they were interested they could have had so much time together!"

Lu Guang, moronsexual, fantasising of kissing Cheng Xiaoshi under moonlight: "Sure."

Cheng Xiaoshi, strangely invested: "I mean imagine Not Saying Anything and expecting someone to pick up on your feelings! Honesty and clarity is important in these things!"

Lu Guang, feeling awareness prickle like pop rocks: "I... Is it now."

Cheng Xiaoshi, dropping hints for years: "After all, if someone was in love with me, I'd want to know!"

Lu Guang, piecing it together: "..."

Lu Guang, a fool: "Marry me."

Cheng Xiaoshi, who'd been angling for like, a boba date, but is happy with this outcome: "FINALLY"

Imagine the gang figuring out that Lu Guang can braid hair. Qiao Ling and Xu Shanshan 100% benefit from this, Dong Yi and Cheng Xiaoshi are jealous for very different reasons and then Cheng Xiaoshi let's his hair grow a little longer, because he loves intimacy like that.

Bonus: LG reluctantly braids CXS's hair eventually and CXS gets all flustered at feeling LG's hands in his hair.

Remember CXS feeling guilty coz he inadvertently caused Emma's death?

Now imagine how much more guilty he'd feel when he finds out he's supposed to be dead. And if he'd just stayed dead, then maybe Emma wouldn't have died. Maybe Xu Shanshan would've never been kidnapped. Maybe he'd have never provoked Li Tianchen, which then leads to Chen Bin's death. And many more

I can't wait for ShiGuang angst when this happens
