Let’s set the stage: in the future, the Company has discovered time travel – but only to the past – and immortality – but only by basically turning you into a cyborg. I’m sure this company will use these innovations only for good and not for profit. So they set out to use time travel to go back and rescue long extinct plants and animals and works of art for the future. Which they then use to generate profit for the company. Well, what did you expect? How dare a book make me sad, I say, having picked up a book that starts with the main character being taken by the Spanish Inquisition.

heheheheh working on hsr!silvanus expy (who is gonna kiss aventurine)

im gonna dump some of the hsr!silvanus thoguhts in my head bc im trying to figure out what aeon theyre associated with. and i have a few ideas but they dont connect very well with genshin!silvanus:

1.) I was thinking them being a memokeeper with the garden of recollection but realize that they shed their mortal flesh to become like living memories that can absorb other memories or whatever. and it made me think wait black swan looks like a regular gal. does that mean memokeepers can just change their at will? or is she just Special. and thought it would be interesting for silvanus as a memokeepr take on their current apperance. but then i realized i could make it Pain and Suffering. like if theyre living memories can they take on the persona & memories of another person and like. absorb that idenity and BECOME that person??? like silvanus isnt actually the REAL silvanus but whoever they were before. but that would require me to make TWO ocs and would assume that silvanus & the og persona knew each other/were very close and 'silvanus' died and was then absorbed by the other. kinda like. a venti genshin impact situation where he takes on the form as the nameless bard.

2.) then i was thinking maybe them following IX?? bc all the many iterations of silvanus ive made over years have been characterized as pretty monotone and indifferent when interacting with others but its just mask to cover up deep trauma. and theres the thing with IX where those who gaze to long into their nothingness and also start to feel numb and that life has no meaning. and one of IX's factions is the doctors of chaos who have also gazed into IX's nothingness but try to fight it and prove to IX that life DOES have meaning. and thought that would be a neat angle.

so i came to the conclusion that im gonna smash both these two OCs together where memokeeper OC absorbs nihility character when they die, they take on their identity and try to carry out their life goal after their death ( nihility OC was part of the doctors of chaos faction, where after becoming nihilitypilled and they all try to fight against the so called nothingness of the world and prove to IX that the world DOES have meaning.

ah, the life of a teenage cyborg

My current read is a sci-fi historical novel. It's good so far!

In the future, The Company has figured out a) immortality (by turning people (mostly children) into cyborgs) and b) time travel (but only back in time (for now)(they "save" missing art and extinct animals)).

The book follows one of the new immortals as she's taken from 16th century Spain, turned into a cyborg and taught human history, then returned to the 16th century and told to work for the good of The Company to Save Things From Time.

Her first posting is in England, where they came over with Philip of Spain as he gets ready to marry Mary.

Reminding me of:

The Redemption of Christopher Columbus by OSC (boo hiss etc but nonetheless)

And is it To Say Nothing of the Dog? With the time agents who go back to rescue pieces of art? (Edit: yes, yes it is)

I just found out that “In the Garden of Iden” is the first book in a 13 book series??? Omg that’s amazing!!! Now the ending makes more sense!!

god, shin is totally a like, anger crier. even when he tries to seem, anger in the scary sense, he just starts tearing up. a lot of sniffies and hicks ya know like, he is a pretty emotional person outside of the death game, but inside golly gee. he lets anger build up to seem more of a threat, but whoops sometimes it cracks lol! violent wise... he just, tends to push that onto him roughly messing with scarf/beanie.. hope this makes any sense at all

i have said this b4 i think but shin likes to crochet !! he finds it like, calming and a somewhat break of typing 4 so long pfft..

i also feel like in a non-death game sense, he picked up gardening.. (guess cuz of who) he is shit at it but he is trying <3

he also plays a lot of rhythm games.. i like to think he is good at them :) focused on it so much...

he has the habit of just.. messing with clothing items a lot (have it be messing with fabric and such... sometimes chewing on hoodie strings..)

i think that shin is still like, xtremely attached to hiyori/midori ya know. its pretty obvi in game but!! i have my own thoughts :3

shin grew up in a rich (i like to think his mom is like.. a lawyer or smthing..) but like, pretty lonely home !! which blah blah lead to him to get attached the only person who was nice to him in his life!! good old silly head sou hiyori (full name)

despite hiyori being nice to shin, hiyori still was like a, pretty shitty person to him!! and and woah wow! some silly transguy (alice) 'kills' hiyori! leaving shin to his lonesome! and shin didnt know how to feel! at the point, shin was still good buddy pals with hiyori at that time, so he was prob still attached in a way.

but hey! he can grow right?

this isnt much of a hc now that i think abt it LMAO....

shin prob has issues with self idenity after the death game... dude acted like hiyori for like, days im guessing, and god, that can prob mess up a guy. a

nd my own personal self projection gives him idenity issues <3
