Like imagine Hobie just taking off running with Ansi on his back. He'll even swing with him back there and Moche is like FUCK Miguel is NO FUN

Mama Moche is a true Matriarch. And Miguel loves it.

The O'Hara-Huapaya Household can be a bit unconventional.

Raised in Earth 802 - a futuristic version of the Inca Empire, Moche's culture is known for having big families. My nana had 13 siblings. My father had 9.

Moche & Miguel have a sensible EIGHT.

And Miguel couldn't ask for more. (Literally. He can't take anymore, he's gonna lose his mind)

The Babies:

A daughter, two sets of twins - identical AND fraternal, and a trio of baby girls their babies are named - Rosalia, Diego & Mateo, Miguel Jr & Gabriel Jr, Isabella, Camilla, & Valinda aka Rosa, Di-O, Maddy, Junior, Riel, Bella, Cam, and Linda

Rosalia O'Hara-Huapaya

Their oldest - Rosalia - is the apple of Miguel's eye, and a little terror. Almost the exact opposite from Gabriella, Rosa is a loud, talkative, rambunctious tasmanian devil of a child (in the best way possible), and she enjoys playing in creeks, talking to Lyla, and rawr-ing at things. Born with Miguel's unstable DNA - paired with having a dual-universe coded DNA similar to Miles' - Rosalia (as well as all of their children) must take stabilizing shots, the same as their dad. Each child experiences the effects to a different degree. As a result, Rosalia possesses retractable fangs, red eyes and super strength, the same as her father. And as she grows older, Rosa even develops her own venom - one known for causing excruciating pain in addition to paralyzation. Conceived almost immediately after their marriage, Rosalia has always looked up to her dad. And although they have a complicated relationship for much of her life (mainly due to the fear of living in Gabriella's shadow), Rosalia and Miguel are extremely close, and extremely alike - Trained by her father at Spider HQ for most of her life, Rosalia one day grows up to be 'Viper' - a snake themed anti-hero.

Up-Bringing:

Raising their children in Moche's village back on 802 - Moche and Miguel's have a traditional and loving Quechua family with Moche as their mami and Miguel as their taita (dad in Quechua). Their kids speak Moche's native language - Quechua, and Spanish as their first languages (with English after that). And all of their kids were born in the traditional Quechua sense - homebirths with only Moche, and Miguel as her midwife. Being from a communal and communist culture, raising eight kids is a lot less hectic than it sounds, and it's not usual to have all the kids in one place unless it's night time. Different kids are integrated into different places in the community, with multiple people watching one or two kids at a time. [Ex: Miguel might take Rosalia and Diego with him to HQ, while Mateo stays at the Inti temple back on 802. MJ watches Miguel & Gabriel Jr., while Moche is at home with the triplets. After, Moche goes to the temple to get Mateo, and Miguel picks up the fraternal juniors on his way home from work.] With each kid affected by Miguel's mutated DNA, combined with having parents of two different universes, each of their eight kids experience a different level of effect and treatment. Trained by their mother and father as an elite unit, most of their kids goes on to be a hero, anti-hero, or agent in some capacity. Rosalia goes on to become the anti-hero, Viper. Diego & Mateo go on to become twin-heros Katari & Kuntur a.k.a Tari & Tur - Katari meaning 'Snake' (Diego), and Kuntur meaning 'Condor' (Mateo). The snake and condor being two sacred animals in Andean religion (symbolizing the underworld and overworld respectively) Miguel & Gabriel become experts in AI and multiverse technologies. Isabella becomes a healer - taking her mothers mantle as Avatar, gaining her powers comparable to Rosalia. Camilla & Valinda are not heros - Cam is a Boxer/Private Investigator & Valinda is a professional gymnast.

The Timeline:

Rosalia - their first - was conceived almost immediately after their wedding. Though having grown up an only child herself, Moche feared Rosalia being an only child, and Miguel agreed, so they tried for another. Diego & Mateo - their second and third - are identical twins. Miguel's first boys, and his first set of multiples. Having boys, plural, was definitely and adjustment, but everyday Miguel fell in love with being a dad more and more, even when the days got hectic. So when Moche accidentally got pregnant again - he thought 'What's one more, four's a good number.' When the village elder told them she'd be having twins again - boys again - Miguel didn't believe her. I mean, the mystic woman was reading coca leaves and river stones - so how much could she really know? A lot. Cause she was right. Miguel & Gabriel - their fourth and fifth - are fraternal twins. Named after Miguel and his late brother Gabriel, the two often go by 'Riel' and 'Junior'. Five kids. Five kids Miguel adores. But FIVE KIDS. ONE girl and FOUR BOYS. ALL CLOSE IN AGE (Like within 4/5 years of each other) ALL SUPER-POWERED. Miguel loves it - Miguel is EXHAUSTED. But they're like super-parents. And they finally have the family they want. But more than anything, Miguel wants one more girl - a sister for Rosalia. And with Rosalia not showing interest in the path of curandera (a healer) - they both figured, 'hey, why not ONE more'. One more was okay. Six was good - six was Miguel's LIMIT. And like - the chances of Moche having twins AGAIN is next to zero. So they agreed to try for one more. They went to the Inti temple together, to pray to Mama Allpa - the fertility god of Moche's people - for a daughter. Seeing the sincerity and desire in their hearts, Mama Allpa received their prayer - and gave them triplets. This time, Miguel believed the village elder. He passed out when he heard. Isabella, Camilla, & Valinda are identical triplet girls, their youngest (and LAST Miguel swears), bringing the total up to eight. Just like Moche wanted. She's very happy with this outcome. And so is Miguel.

Pregnancy:

Moche & Miguel pride themselves on having traditional Inca pregnancies, according to the traditions of her country. For the Incas, pregnancy was the ultimate test of marriage and commitment - with the husband expected the utmost attention and care to his wife. Needless to say, this is something Miguel loves - an excuse to treat his wife like a big softie. Usually a tough cookie and a workaholic, Miguel gets to act like his 4'11 warrior of a wife is a fragile, glowing queen for 9 months straight. Which, paired with Moche's pregnancy irritability can usually result in what Miguel likes to call 'Matriarch Moche'.

Having been through 4 pregnancies throughout their marriage, during this time Miguel often becomes Moche's caretaker - a role her village takes very seriously (they've got their eye on him). A time where a couple is almost inseparable, Moche & Miguel are no different. And it can extend to everything from making her meals to opening doors for her.

Unlike Jessica though, Moche does NOT do Inca-Spider stuff while pregnant. (Even Miguel was like 'yeah not happening')

And since her and Miguel are always together, that usually results in an irritable and hangry Moche padding around Miguel's lair barefoot with food court food while he does his usual work.

He'll continue his work of being boss and handling missions - while occassionally stop to dote over his wife he just wants to watch soap operas in peace.

The two usually trade responsibilities around this time - with Moche handling most of the Society administrative work, while Miguel handles most of the active mission work, and watching over her universe.

Usually a formidable fighter and a fiercely independent, Pregnancy one of the rare times Moche feels like she can put her self in someone else's hands - knowing that she should reserve her spiritual energy for her baby.

And Miguel is more than happy to oblige (most of the time).

Miguel: *Giving an mission briefing to the Spidey-teens* I need you all to FOCUS, I'm serious. Every detail of this mission must be followed to- Moche: *from Miguel's platform* Miguel, I'm getting heartburn. Also, I can't find the remote. Miguel:.....ask Lyla to change the channel. Moche:..Migggueeell, where's the garbage bag? I'm feeling the nausea again. Why did you give me queso? Eating that queso was a horrible idea- Lyla: Miguel, you better hustle. Last time she barfed on your desktop my server was out for 2 hours. Miguel:....*sighs* If you'll excuse me.. I- just a minute.

Birth:

All of the O'Hara-Huapaya children were born in the traditional Incan way - by their parents, with no extra assistance. In Moche's tradition, there is no midwife or doctor - that responsibility falls unto the husband, to educate himself and support the mother of his child. This is what Moche wanted, wanting the moment to be shared solely by them. Admittedly, the days leading up to Rosalia's birth were terrifying for Miguel, and he did exhaustive research. And as her husband, it was his responsibility to prepare the space for her, deliver the baby, and help ease her pain - with aid just a call away if they needed. Rosalia's birth was not an easy one, with Moche choosing to give birth in the upright position - but Rosalia is born healthy and safe, and Miguel doing so well, that they gave birth to the other seven just the same (thought with the triplets, it did require a little help, that's SO many babies). After the birth, Rosalia was bathed and dressed by her godparents (Asa & Jess) before spending the night with Miguel while Moche recovered. The morning after Moche was prepared by the Mamaconas to meet her daughter. Miguel and Moche love this - Moche feels like it helps her shoulder the responsibility of pregnancy, and their babies' health. And with Miguel directly involved with every step, it allows him to understand her and their baby on a deeper level. Although Miguel had only asked for one, the first night alone with Rosalia, he knew he wanted as many as Moche would give him.

About Moche's Maternity Outfit:

Moche's outfit takes inspiration from a number of actual Moche, Inca, or Quechua sources - including this outfit of a Moche girl from an exhibit in Peru.(left). Moche's forearm tattoos are also inspired directly from the tattoos found on The Lady of Cao - a mummy found in Peru. The Lady of Cao was thought to be a potential priestess or ruler - and as Moche holds the title of village healer, she has similar ink. Moche wears a headdress similar to a rising sun. As a Mamacona (priestess of The Sun God Inti), the sun holds a lot of significance for her. Moche wears the headdress throughout her pregnancy as a signal to others the 'rising of a new sun' - or rather the in-coming birth of her child. The sash at her waist is woven, and underneath embroidered with symbols in order to spiritually protect and shield the babies.

The Avatar of The Spider-God Aia Paec, Moche comes from Tawanti - a 1992 version of Peru never colonized by the Spanish.

Protector of her people, the Inca-Spider is a ruthless warning to all invaders, a nightmare to the dishonorable, and a servant to all of her people.

To the people of Tawanti, Miguel is the Runa-Utu-Runcu, The Man of Jaguar Spirit

To the people of her village, he is AncuApu, The Blue Mountain that came from the future.

Both in the field and at HQ, Moche and Miguel are a ruthless team, cause they're both devout workaholics. But under that, they're all soft, mushy, and traditional.

Sure, they're ruthless vigilantes that'll stop at nothing. But they also took 4 months to hold hands and go on ballroom salsa dancing dates every Wednesday like an old couple.

And that doesn't even start on the huge family they have together.

Miguel x Inca-Spider Moche Headcanons (Canon x OC)

One thing Miguel and Moche LOVE is Dancing

It's started out as simple practice - really, it was a joke.

Moche and Miguel love hanging in his office, up on his high ass platform where they can ignore all the responsibilities, and pretend to get some work done.

Ever since Moche had first joined, and the three of them - Miguel, her, and Lyla would be up there, sorting through files, reviewing mission footage, and listening to music.

Moche is always the one who has to handle breaks. If she doesn't - Miguel just .... won't take them. The type to not notice he's exhausted beyond belief until his head is hitting the pillow.

Sometimes, it's a struggle. Until one day, Moche gets him to dance.

Moche's favorite genre is Runarae - a genre specific to her universe - a blend of reggae and indigenous languages (think reggaeton if the Spanish never colonized).

Full of flutes and drum line and percussion, ever since she was a child - everytime she heard it, she wanted to dance.

So one day she grabs Miguel's hands and does just that.

He humors her, watching as Moche takes his hand and twirls herself, pulling him to his feet. She even manages she gets a couple steps out of him. A little shuffle they fall into.

Thank God both of them have rhythm.

Moche has spent her whole life dancing, and singing, playing music on the sidelines of the ceremonies in her village. Singing Quechua incantations, dancing her traditional dance.

She still wears the traditional dress whenever she can (which is often), and Miguel smiles so hard it hurts when she grabs her skirts, lifting her petticoat to dance Folklorico

Lyla is like 'Is that my alarm system going off or wedding bells I hear~'

And suddenly they're just, dancing.

Mind you - there's a TWO FOOT height difference. Like her head reaches his solar plexus. His shoulder IF she's wearing the highest heels she can find. He can't even kiss the top of her head and it's not even close.

But here she is, twirling in his arms and laughing as he lifts her up and dips her, Moche giggling so hard almost hurts

And soon they're doing that EVERY chance they get. Miguel comes back from a tiring mission, or whatever crazy thing the other Spider-people got themselves into on campus.

He walks into his office groaning and rubbing his brow. And immediately Moche is like

'Olé? I cannot dance alone, Apu.'

[Apu means 'mountain/mountain spirit' in Quechua. She calls him Apu because the people of her village gave him the name 'AncuApu' (Blue Mountain) due to his height and suit]

It's their little secret, an inside joke, they keep for who knows how long.

Until Jess portals in.

One day Jess skips the whole 'upsidedown elevator lobby thing' and just rides into his office, only to find Miguel holding Moche in a dip as they listen to Shakira.

Of course Jess is like

IN TEARS AND SHOCK TRYING NOT TO BUST OUT IN LAUGHTER CAUSE SHE WALKED IN ON MOCHI AND MIGUEL GETTING IT LIKE

The two are ready to die from embarrassment - until Jess goes 'Y'all two are so cute, I need to get myself whatever lessons you got.'

Lessons. Before, they had never even considered lessons, let alone dancing outside of his huge lair. But as soon as the idea is there THEY HAVE TO DO IT.

Datenight becomes dance classes and dinner. They're AMAZING at it - Salsa, Ballroom, Flamenco, Rumba, Folklorico - both Mexican and Peruvian

THEY LOVE IT. Plus with Mochi being the size she is - and the fact she's been bitten, it's really easy for them to do the more flashy moves - like flips and spins

It's just THEIR THING.

Even in their calm moments.

When there's no music, or the day has been too long, they'll still stand there in her garden, or their bedroom and just slow dance and talk.

They're both A-spec - and to them dancing is like their favorite form of intimacy, besides maybe bathing together, or him braiding her hair

Only a good handful of people know they do it - Jess first. Then Peter, and now Peter, MJ, Moche, and Miguel have taken double dates and dancing classes together. (Peter and MJ have no idea how they're SO GOOD at it, they make it look so easy. But Peter has two left feet)

Hobie knows (walked in on them) and teases Miguel for it. But Miguel always says 'At least I can dance.'

People say 'Moche and Miguel are doing it in his office again.'

They don't mean sex. They mean they're in there with Spanish and Runagae blasting as they dance around his platform clapping at each other and yelling 'WEPA!!!' at the top of their lungs.

You know what, fuck it!

I’m going to talk about Asa and Moche because both of them are so cool and I love them.

First Meeting

So they really meet for the first time on Hobie’s houseboat, after Moche has abandoned the society and Asa has gotten Miles back to his universe safely. Asa pops over to Hobie’s for a visit only to find Moche sobbing on the couch. Now by this time, he’s been given a bl kate by her so he knows who she is and that she’s a fellow warrior. It’s important to note that Asa does not make any noise unless he wants to so Moche fucking startles when Asa shows up for the first time, swearing in her native language. “Hi, I’m so sorry to bother you but you gave me my blanket right?” and it all spirals from there.

They get to talking, about their cultures, identities and everything that happened to make Moche leave the society. Asa tells her that he chewed Miguel’s ear off for his stupidity and absolutely decked his ass when he found out about him going after Miles. It makes Moche’s eyes glow for a minute and something distinctly not human replies with a fierce “good” and Asa bears his teeth in something too cruel to be called a smile

Friendship headcanons

they are very low key. Asa is usually content to just be with someone and doesn’t need a lot out of a person except for them to be kind to him and listen if he says no. Moche is all that and more. They work together (Asa might be sewing while Moche weaves), talk about their cultures, and how they are both similar and different. Sometimes they talk about the society, but only about the good times, before everything went wrong.

Asa loves pole dancing and just moving his body, it helps him regulate his emotions so he offers to teach Moche the way that he dances, and they have so much fun, keeping rhythm with their hands and feet, just existing within their bodies. They do not fear their joy and this is a good cure for grief and fear. Moche does not ever learn the pole like how Asa knows it but she learns how to spin, how to use it like you’re flying

The kids

Asa is very cautious about his children, he has to be in his universe and that just translates to everywhere. It takes some time for Asa to trust Moche but once he sees how gentle she is with literally everyone and extracts a promise to behave exactly like he tells her to, moche gets to meet the kids.

She actually bonds with Jaya and Lucille very well, even though both of them are in fact not fond of new people. She tells them stories about her own culture and probably keeps trying to cleanse the bad energy away from them. It slowly becomes a thing where if Asa isn’t feeling well Moche will take the kids out for the day and kind of explore, just paying attention to the world and how it’s so different from her own

Since Miguel is both Mexican AND Irish I just imagine Moche, Asa, and Hobie telling him how he should free his mind from European colonization and to remember what the Spanish and British took from him and how they treated the Irish

Constantly plotting on how he should be Radicalized and Decolonized

Meanwhile Miguel is looking at them like 'do we have to do this every Tuesday'

Moche learns that the city is called NUEVA York and she's like 'what the hell' and Asa is like 'I know right'.

In her world Mexico was never colonized. Spain actually isn't that powerful of a country (you know, not having all the stolen shit).

There it's called Mexica and they speak Nahuatl and a couple others. So the first time he's like 'I'm Mexican' Moche is like okay cool understood - from Mexica. But then he's like 'from Mexico' and she's like ??????? what are you talking about ???

Then he starts speaking SPANISH.

Moche just coming up to Asa and very confused just utters the word 'Spanish?'

But I love the idea of Moche taking Asa to Mexica because the political relations between them and Tawanti is really really good. And they can go to museums from Moche's world and take the kids too to show them all the culture and food 😭😭😭 IM SORRY THIS IS SO LONG

I want to start this out with a little personal note. I’m chicano or mexican american and asa result i don’t know what my culture actually is because of the assimilation that my family underwent in order to protect themselves so the idea of miguel getting to unlearn what he thought was his culture (cough spain cough) is so precious to me actually.

I want to start out with Asa learning about Mexica, because when I tell you that he cries with joy, he sobs his eyes out, these heaving sobs of pure joy, that there’s somewhere that his culture wasn’t taken, that he lives somewhere happily and fully along with his people. Moche. is very concerned but she patiently holds Asa through it, and tells her joyful stories of visiting mexica and it’s thriving culture.

As for Miguel, this would have to happen pre-chase because after-chase Asa will not go anywhere near Miguel for a long time.

Anywho, Asa is all for telling Miguel that he needs to find himself in his culture became he genuinely thinks that it will make miguel calmer, and happier. Connecting to one’s culture makes for a happier person and Asa absolutely believes in that for himself and for Miguel. He and Hobie are bothering miguel about it like every tuesday and do not let up. Moche thinks that it;s the best thing ever and fucking adores Asa for making sure that her partner knows his culture.

When Moche invites Asa to her world, Asa is absolutely honored, and wears all of his best clothes for it, and even goes as far to dress up the kids and make sure that everyone is in thier best traditional clothes.

The braids are immaculate and honestly a little gravity defying but Asa does follow Chaos so weird stuff like that happens. Asa is enamores by everything and buys so much for his home that everyone else is like ‘are they okay?’ and moche just has to assure them that Asa is having a moment^tm

Aia Paec isn't fond of people, he doesn't dislike them - he just was atypically uninterested. But for Asa, it's a whole different story.

Asa would probably be the person Aia Paec respects most. And even though Asa doesn't need it, Aia Paec would make sure to protect and back him at all costs.

Every time he's like 'Moche, don't do that' - Aia Paec is like 'UNDERSTOOD' and he never forgets anything fshgfdsjhg

For Moche, meeting Asa is really healing, because it's acceptance and understanding when she needs it the most. As Hobie gets the watches up and running, Moche would invite Asa and the kids to her village ASAP.

Even with the war with the Spanish in the cities, her mountain village is a bubble of culture and community she'd die for. And Moche would do anything to make sure he and the kids feel safe and at peace.

Teaching them how to treat the llamas and alpacas, or showing them how they look after the guinea pigs or cook traditional food. Moche ADORES kids

And when she has kids of her own, Asa would be one of the only people she even lets around the babies cause evil eye and also energy (Peter B can't see them until they're a couple months shes not testing it)

And like the pole dancing I CRY BECAUSE I'm like this close to going on a rant about how Moche wants to fight being sexualized cause shes 'small' (she's AVERAGE sjgfhkdkg) and wears her hair in braids and wears fluffy skirts and probably gets infantilized or sexualized a lot for it by gross people (which happens too much especially in the EGL community - UGH)

so Asa teaching her pole would mean so much to her cause she can reclaim her body without being reduced to an object and it becomes a source of power for her.

Aia Paec would LOVE Asa like he would raise Aia's standards so much he'd look at all other Spider-people like 'Why are you people worthy like him? You all lack his ruthlessness and will not survive the winter'

I’m going to talk about Asa and Moche because both of them are so cool and I love them.

First Meeting

So they really meet for the first time on Hobie’s houseboat, after Moche has abandoned the society and Asa has gotten Miles back to his universe safely. Asa pops over to Hobie’s for a visit only to find Moche sobbing on the couch. Now by this time, he’s been given a bl kate by her so he knows who she is and that she’s a fellow warrior. It’s important to note that Asa does not make any noise unless he wants to so Moche fucking startles when Asa shows up for the first time, swearing in her native language. “Hi, I’m so sorry to bother you but you gave me my blanket right?” and it all spirals from there.

They get to talking, about their cultures, identities and everything that happened to make Moche leave the society. Asa tells her that he chewed Miguel’s ear off for his stupidity and absolutely decked his ass when he found out about him going after Miles. It makes Moche’s eyes glow for a minute and something distinctly not human replies with a fierce “good” and Asa bears his teeth in something too cruel to be called a smile

Friendship headcanons

they are very low key. Asa is usually content to just be with someone and doesn’t need a lot out of a person except for them to be kind to him and listen if he says no. Moche is all that and more. They work together (Asa might be sewing while Moche weaves), talk about their cultures, and how they are both similar and different. Sometimes they talk about the society, but only about the good times, before everything went wrong.

Asa loves pole dancing and just moving his body, it helps him regulate his emotions so he offers to teach Moche the way that he dances, and they have so much fun, keeping rhythm with their hands and feet, just existing within their bodies. They do not fear their joy and this is a good cure for grief and fear. Moche does not ever learn the pole like how Asa knows it but she learns how to spin, how to use it like you’re flying

The kids

Asa is very cautious about his children, he has to be in his universe and that just translates to everywhere. It takes some time for Asa to trust Moche but once he sees how gentle she is with literally everyone and extracts a promise to behave exactly like he tells her to, moche gets to meet the kids.

She actually bonds with Jaya and Lucille very well, even though both of them are in fact not fond of new people. She tells them stories about her own culture and probably keeps trying to cleanse the bad energy away from them. It slowly becomes a thing where if Asa isn’t feeling well Moche will take the kids out for the day and kind of explore, just paying attention to the world and how it’s so different from her own
