y'know. i really think that like... people need to calm down and stop experiencing other people interpreting their fave ship differently or disliking it as an attack on the ship itself. i've seen a lot of posts recently about how like... 'can you shut up about how x and y are siblings to you stop calling it incest when people ship ''''found family''''' and i'm like okay. there's one of several options here for what happened that prompted this post.

1. someone else's interpretation of the dynamic of their ship is making them personally feel a little weird and instead of curating your experience they are projecting their weird feelings onto that person and making it their problem when all they did is have a different take. which is ironically what they are accusing that person of doing. somebody having a familial interpretation of your ship does not mean that person thinks you are Doing Incest lmao grow up.

1.5. they saw someone express on their own blog that they feel weird about the ship or don't like it because of their personal interpretation of it, which is familial in tone, while saying nothing at all about people who DO ship that ship and enjoy it. the post is only about the op's personal feelings based on their interpretation. and for some reason decided 'i am being attacked' as a response to this.

2. that was blatant ragebait or a one-off post by someone with a lot of really big weird feelings and they are now holding everyone in the fandom accountable for one (1) weird guy they should've just blocked and ignored.

or 3. you're referring to adopted siblings as 'found family' and you need to re-evaluate a lot of things about your choices.

like... all i'm saying is i see a lot of shippers harassing people who have a specifically named found family interpretation of a dynamic and absolutely none of the reverse. could it happen? i guess. but the prevalence of those posts is not remotely equivalent. and when it DOES happen odds are it's someone who is like, 14 years old. who then got screamed at for being a 'puriteen' i'm sure rather than just being blocked and allowed to be a cringe child in peace like everyone else.

Fates' insistence to have the entire cast be romancable for Corrin despite the setup of the game is one of the game's biggest travesties. Hinoka would normally be an extremely easy S-Support choice for me, but there's no way in hell I'm ever doing that with her being framed as Corrin's sister, adopted or otherwise. (At least there's Scarlet, my beloved)

Also Hinoka is honestly probably my favourite out of all the Fates siblings, purely out of spite due to how ignored and overshadowed she is by both the game's writing and fandom.

i haven’t read the book, just the synopsis and the letter it’s from, but the context is like. it’s an epistolary novel and the narrator is a young woman named judy who gets plucked out of an orphanage by a Mysterious Benefactor to be sent to college on the condition she write to him (with the letters addressed to mr. john smith) and become an author, and she’s only ever seen his long-legged shadow so she jokingly calls him daddy long legs, or. daddy for short. so she writes him about this cute guy she’s met who’s 14 years her senior and they get along so well but she’s rejected his proposal bc she’s a cringe orphan and etc and then she says the moonlight thing. and then later, surprise! the cute guy was daddy long legs all along — and also her uncle! and they get married. so.

Hello !! I just want to say about shadsou that I don't think calling it ableist is okay like, at all. I think interpreted in certain ways (I myself like the idea of Shin being plural and shadow Shin being a persecutor) it can be really sweet. The incest in Genealogy is so weird because in Generation 1 the only incest possible (unless i missed a secret convo somewhere) is Doomed Unrequited Love with Lachesis and Evil Incest Ritual plotted by the baddies. Like it's incestuous, but it's not exactly portrayed in a good light so it's not so bad.

And then you get to Gen 2 and it is cousin boinking central. So many possible cousin pairs. If you marry Lex to Ayra, Larcei will fall for her first cousin (one of whom is a decade older) without player intervention. Nanna and Ares have a unique lover conversation, taking out any plausible deniability of an oversight. Like this game makes the gene pool of your average fates gen 2 look stable when you imagine what the gen 3 must be like. (also for the record i'm on chapter 8 so there may yet be new frontiers of incest in this game)
