Thinking about a post I saw about how young people don’t volunteer and was shaming young adults for not volunteering like how the elderly do and it’s like……do u seriously not realize Why it’s mostly elderly people volunteering?? Are u fucking stupid or just wanted an excuse to make yourself look better than other people your age?? The elderly volunteer because they have TIME that people who are working age don’t have! They’re fucking retired! Do you know how boring retirement is when all you’ve done is work and work and work all your life?? Stop acting like young people are some insidious selfish monsters when we’re really just busy studying at a uni and/or having a job lol

#and also like… in some states in the US you get financial assistance as a student if you volunteer #my state is one of them!!! most of the young people I know have completed more than 100 hours of volunteering #including myself lol

so i wear a mask-- to classes, around campus, in the elevator, whatever, yeah? no one else does but i can't afford to get sick again, you know how it is. anyway, classes started last week and obviously i wore one to my studio class on tuesday. chatted a bit with some of the other cool queers there. got to know a few of them by name. i showed up thursday, and guess what? one of them is ALSO wearing a mask that time. the wrong kind--but still! a mask! better than nothing!

just want to let you guys know you can always choose to start masking again. if you're still alive, it is never too late. also: herd mentality is real. if you wear one you'll influence others to wear one. we are still in a plague. covid never left. protect yourself, protect each other.
