Humanity thrives on desire, desire to know, to feel, to be, to love and be loved, so on and so forth. There truly is no reason to give someone something that is so fatuous it has no name. It can only be described as a part of something larger. Life's resplendence can only be accredited to the things so unexplainable that we have no choice but to make them beautiful.

the crushing weight of reality when the indominitible will of the human spirit walks in

What the gays really need is a combination of Mr Holmes, Granada Holmes, and Sherlock. The show opens up up with shots of their Sussex cottage circa 1940 and beehives and Sherlock and John strolling down the beach, arm and arm laughing. John’s voiceover as the lovey dovey montage continues “When people speak to me, it is because they usually want to know about my esteemable friend and heart’s companion Sherlock Holmes. I have spent my life answering their questions. I have laid bare his methods. I acquainted you with the indominitable Irene Adler. To the chagrin of both Holmes brothers, you have met the now deceased Mycroft. I have frightened you with the Baskerville Hounds, and I have exposed the villain Moriarty to an infamy that will last as long as the acclaim of my dear Holmes. Through it all you have met Him. You’ve met his mania, his black moods, his curt manners. You’ve seen his kind heart, keen sense of justice, his complete lack of care for the usual affairs that concern us mortal men. You’ve fallen in love with him. I’m not jealous, it seems to me that one cannot see him but love him. However, as we approach the end of our lives, quietly, contently, it has struck me I have yet one more story to tell. A story that was stolen from me, and the public by the smallness of English society and the men who inhabit it. Like all my stories, it is about Sherlock Holmes. *montage cuts to John Watson typing on a typewriter. Sherlock walks in, some jam and toast in one hand, and puts a loving hand around John’s shoulder and kisses his head* It is the story of how Sherlock Holmes fell in love with me"

Any advice for someone who wants to be a Captain some day?
Truthfully, Elena was a little surprised that she was the one being asked for advice. She had given it a little though before deciding it was more likely just an opportune time for the question.
“Let me preface this by the fact I was promoted to Captain in the Republic Navy, during the Clone Wars. Things may have changed since, but the overall concept needs to remain the same.
There are three things you need to be able to do; compartmentalising, prioritisation and delegation.
Although we are Naval, we do often see and take part in things that may have a lasting impression on us. You need to seperate yourself from these things when you are on duty. As a Captain, we have to be an indominitable force that will not lose, and everything distracting you is a weakness whilst you’re on that Bridge.
You will have a myriad of tasks when you hold a command, and they will seem never ending. Soley focusing on one to completion will not work. You need to prioritise your work and adapt to new information. The amount of times I have started or resumed my reports, only to be leaving them a few moments later is countless - and that isn’t even in combat situations. You need to sort out what is really important for your ship first.
And, as I have just said, your work is nigh endless. You need to understand that you cannot do it all by yourself. This is why there is a hierarchy. Figure out what your crew can do and delegate to them. Now, I am very lucky to have had two aides - one at a time, that is - by my side, that have been absolutely amazing for this. But, always remember there is a balance. There is only so much your Officers can do and should do.
This leads on to the things you need to have, or at the very least, remember.
Your crew, all of them, are people. And in concept, so are the droids. They have skills, expertise, names, families, weaknesses and limits, like you. And you are all part of this ship, so you need to treat each other like it. You need to work together. You need to expect the best, absolutely, but you need to nurture your crew - and yes, discipline where necessary - and make sure you can unlock their potential. If you merely work them like machines, you will not truly earn their respect. But if you do, you may have a crew that are willing to go above and beyond. Love your crew, for without them, you’re nothing.
On the other hand, of course, you are the Captain. Your word is law on this ship - within reason - and you cannot let your authority be undermined. Whilst it is very much encouraged to listen to your crew, especially those who may have more experience or a subject expertise that is relevant, you need to know you are the final say.
I could likely write a full report on what I feel would make a good Captain, but I know that there may be some things that are . . . Debatable in these times. But, overall, trust yourself, have a stiff upper lip and make sure you are always learning. Take the opportunities you can and truly look into how they could help you achieve your goal. Even the lowest level mechanic has to supervise that they are fixing. And supervision isn’t far from Command at all.
Good luck, you made it this far, so it’s obvious you have potential.”

And here's Mallory quietly crawling around the ground on all fours, before quietly getting a few yards from Joseph and extending her tongue, running it along one side of his face from the neck up.
Tumblr media
The poor man’s pupils constricted to mere pinpricks, eyes growing wide as dinner plates the moment that horrible tongue crossed the distance and made contact against his skin. Joseph froze like a deer in headlights, breath caught in a constricted throat, nothing more than a pitiful squeak that failed to beome a scream squeezed past as every single second he felt that god Awful tongue slide over his flesh.
★“ H-haa… ” He fought against various enemies, both living and undead, he’s seen horrors and even death on numerous occassions but all of that paled in comparison to now. The slimy trail sticking to his perspiring skin, the wet organ taking no shame in covering up the side of his face, the Disgust overflowing and the fact it was Mallory all combined to have the normally indominitable Joestar topple over without so much as a single cry for help. His knees were the first to buckle, the rest of him following quickly into a heavy thud colliding against the floor, unmoving..
Joseph actually fainted outright..

Krishna is the light of our lives. It's been a tricky week, with lots of health challenges for my little Ish. We had this ferocious weather snap - ferocious for the GC, don't judge - anyway my girl got sick & I held up real well over the weekend, but once I was juggling work & a little sicky with special needs I started feeling a bit desperate! So I've not had a lot of time to craft or paint this week, and while my girl has been a stoic little angel through about a thousand needles, she's also had some dramatic mood swings. Poor little love, she's got so much potential and so incredibly strong willed. Somehow today the kids sorted out this bet (it was ludicrous), and my son was going to pay his sister mega bucks if she spent a solid 7 hours following his orders n cleaning. They didn't run this by me, I was peripherally aware of it as I worked. So anyway come 30 mins in, my daughter has cleaned the kitchen to a sparking finish, and I start warning her, 'your brother is counting on you not achieving this'.. She just thought all she had to do was prove him wrong. But she's sick, she's vulnerable, and 1 hour in we start begging her to stop. But no! She's hell bent on achieving the impossible, she had her eye on the prize-- until I was worrying v about her because TY1D & a cold = already delicate ... I caught her gathering the supplies to clean walls in her brothers room with tears in her eyes because she's pushing herself so hard and put my foot down.. This ends now! Pay her for her 2 hours. I had to nearly sit on her too get her to concede. She still maintains she would have done it if I allowed it. Indominitable will. That's why when it comes to a battle of will I opt out. My tactic to distract, divert, redirect. It used to work pretty well with food, that's gotten tougher lately. (Freaking Coeliac disease) I think its important to help our kids recognise their strengths, it helps them grow. Friends too! Don't hold back, help people see their strengths so they can grow into opportunities. Anyway, all this to say, focus on the goal! Love for Krishna, ferociously clinging to the protection of Lord!
