Protection from Crimes against Women under Indian Laws: A Comprehensive Analysis

Introduction

Women have always had an important role since the creation of human society and they have always been respected as a goddess. But in the present scenario, violence and crimes against women can be witnessed increasing in many ways around the world. This is a matter of grave and serious concern and growing of torture and crimes against women is a shame for the entire human race. In India, everyone has the equal right to live their life as they wish and to grow, but these rights are limited up to the constitution and legislation only, which is far away from the practical world, due to which the women have been tortured, oppressed and have faced heinous crimes for centuries in India.

Need for Protection of Women

The cultural history and various religious texts from ancient India reveals the status of women from ancient era i.e. theoretically women were given the status of goddess and were always respected like goddesses but in last few centuries, the status of women changed and gradually deteriorated due to the paradoxical statements in religious scriptures of medieval past and society. In a global perspective, crimes against women occur every minute with 1 in 3 women. According to World Health Organization violence against women such as assault, harassment, intimate partner violence, rape, emotional abuse etc. becomes an important public health problem in every country. The reports state that in every hour there is commission of one crime against women in India. Women are not safe, whether they are in their houses or public places or at the workplace.

Keeping in view the increasing atrocities and crimes against women in India, strong laws are required for women in the country. The notion that women are weak and dependent on men is deeply ingrained in our society. On one hand, we are moving forward with society and taking our developing country to the sky but our thinking about women and their place in society has not changed yet and we are not ready to accept them as breadwinners even today. Not only in India but in the whole world there is dire need of change in the perspective and to promote them equally with respect and dignity.

Crimes against Women: With Respect to India

Crime in India is not tolerable and wrongdoers and criminals deserve punishments. In the Indian context, there are different laws and legislations for the protection of women from growing offences. There are various forms of crimes against the women and the list keeps growing. These are some of the crimes against women-

Safety, security and overall development of every citizen is utmost priority for the Government. Protecting children and women and preventing the rise of crimes against them is an important policy of the state. The Ministry of Women and Child Development has been administering various special laws relating to women along with the uniform criminal laws of India i.e. Indian Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code.

Indian Penal Code 1860 lays down the provisions for punishments to criminals for committing offences. Whereas, the procedures for trial are governed by the Criminal Procedure Code 1973.

Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956

The Act was initially known as Suppression of Immoral Traffic in Women and Girls Act 1956 was amended in 1986 which aims at preventing trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation of women and girls and it is the principal legislation for prohibiting prostitution and sexual acts for women and girls. The amendment bill Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Amendment Bill was proposed in 2006 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, which is yet to be passed. Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

Dowry is one of the sinful activities and curses that people call custom. Dowry is asked by the groom and his family in consideration of marriage and this system has taken long roots in society. It is presumed that the girl is going to the in-laws house where she has to set up a new household for her family, for which all the necessary items and things are given to her as dowry. Dowry is become a compulsion from past few years and if the demands of dowry is not fulfilled by the parents of girl, then she is going to face abuses, aggravated crimes, burning, mental torture, etc. by in-laws, and face every kind of harassments. Even after fulfilling the demands of in-laws women face such offences in matrimonial houses. So in order to protect women from such offences this act was enacted and enforced.

Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986

This act was enacted to prohibit the advertisement or publication or any kind of indecent representation of women including writings, paintings, figures, etc.

The Commission of Sati (Prevention) Act, 1987

The sati pratha was a custom in ancient times where the wife was burned alive in the pyre with her deceased husband and it was a voluntary custom. This act was enforced in 1987 in order to prevent the alive burning of widows and this act prohibits the participation in any procession, or creation of financial trust or temple for such practices and also prohibits the promotion and honor of the memory of the widow who committed sati.

Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005

Domestic violence is an act or omission done against the women to injure her physically and mentally in any of the aggravated forms. It is an act which recognizes domestic violence as a human rights violation and provides the right to every woman to live in a violence free home according to their wish.

Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013

Sexual harassment is an act of harassment abuse or assault that uses explicit or implicit sexual overtones, including unwanted or unreasonable promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors. Sexual harassment at workplace is one the violation of women’s right to equality, life and liberty. It creates an insecure and hostile work environment, which discourages women’s participation in work, and affects their social and economic empowerment. It creates mental and psychological health issues such as depression, bipolar disorder, etc.

After the verdict of Supreme Court in the matter of Vishakha v/s State of Rajasthan the legislature formulated and enacted a law the sexual harassment of women at workplace act 2013 for providing measures to protect the working womens form evil of sexual harassment. The Supreme Court incorporated basic principles of human rights enshrined in Constitution of India under Article 14, 15, 19(1)(g) and 21, and provisions of Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), which has been ratified in 1993 by the Government of India.

Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006

In most of the families there is a custom of child marriage where the young girls are married to boys of any age group against their will, and these underage girls are subjected to cruelty, forceful sex, etc in matrimonial house which resulted in mental and physical health of girls. This act aims to prohibit the parents form getting child marriage and makes it an illegal act with punishments. Attempting to do so is also an illegal act.

Maternity Benefit Act, 1861

The maternity benefit act is enacted for the protection of women during and after pregnancy in the matter of jobs and wages. This act provides the facilities for paid maternity leave of 26 weeks including before and after the date of delivery. This act provides the maternity leave for surrogate mothers or commissioning mothers of 12 weeks including before and after the date of delivery. This act prohibits the corporation or institution from removal of women workers from job due to their pregnancy and prohibits them from deducting any remuneration or salary. This act provides the facilities of work from home for women who are not comfortable in attending offices physically. Employers are bound to educate and aware the women employees regarding this and to provide maternity benefits to all the pregnant women.

Indian Divorce Act, 1969

The Indian Divorce Act is enacted for the divorce procedures which include the dissolution of marriage with mutual consent, nullity of marriage, judicial separation and restitution of conjugal rights. The matter concerned with divorce or judicial separation or restitution of conjugal rights is dealt by ADJ in Family Courts which are established to file, hear, and dispose of such cases.

Equal Remuneration Act, 1976

There is discrimination among the gender because it is general presumption that women work less than the men and they are less productive than men. This presumption leads to discrimination for wages and remuneration so this act prevents the discrimination in terms of remuneration and provide equal recompense to man and woman workers.

Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971

The act was enforced in 1972, which was updated with different amendments in 1975 and 2002 respectively. This act aims to prohibit illegal abortions and to prevent the maternal mortality rate due to illegal termination of pregnancy. This act also provides the conditions when anyone can opt for the medical termination of pregnancy which is possible only after the certification of a medical practitioner and when it is important to do so for the sake of mother’s health.

National Commission for Women Act, 1990

The National Commission for Women (NCW) is a statutory body of the Government of India, established in January 1992 which represents the rights of women in India and provides a voice for their issues and concerns. The National Commission for Women Act aims to improve the status of women and work for their economic empowerment.

Conclusion

Women have always been an important and sacred place in Indian civilization. They are glorified here as mothers and worshiped as goddesses. They are considered to be the most vulnerable group in India but in the past centuries they have to endure violence in several broad categories, some of them being rape, domestic violence, sexual harassment, female feticide etc. and their safety and security are at stake. Each and every day every single woman is facing such heinous offences in neighborhood, public transport, public places, workplace, etc. But now it’s high time to break the silence and to provide respect which they deserve and to provide them a discrimination free environment without abuses and tortures.

Delhi Court Dismisses Interim Bail Plea Of Rohit Shekhar Tiwari's Wife Apoorva Shukla

Apoorva Shukla was arrested on April 26 last year on charges of Tiwari’s murder.

New Delhi:

A Delhi court on Tuesday dismissed an interim bail application of Apoorva Shukla, arrested in connection with the alleged murder of her husband Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, the son of former Uttarakhand chief minister ND Tiwari.

Ms Shukla had sought interim bail for two months on the ground that she suffered spinal column injury in Tihar jail where she is currently lodged.

Additional Sessions Judge Sandeep Yadav directed the Tihar Jail Superintendent to ensure her medical treatment at Safdarjung Hospital, said her lawyer.

In her interim bail application, filed through advocate Mehmood Pracha, she said that she suffered slip disc injury by slipping in jail.

The court had earlier directed the jail authorities to provide treatment to Ms Shukla at a good hospital other than the jail dispensary and Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital for her psychological problems which include depression and sleep disorder.

Rohit’s mother Ujjwala Tiwari had alleged before the court that Ms Shukla had married Rohit as he was the son of the late veteran politician and she believed she would get a ticket to contest elections at Indore after marrying him.

Ujjwala, who was represented by advocate Tariq Nasir, had alleged that relations turned tense between Rohit and his wife immediately after their marriage and she fought with him on trivial issues.

Ms Shukla, a lawyer, was arrested on April 26 last year on charges of Tiwari’s murder.

Rohit was smothered to death on the intervening night of April 15 and 16, the autopsy report had said.

The character study of Mohan Bhatnagar.

This is the seventh part of the character study of Mohan Bhatnagar. Tomorrow I will be posting the final parts which revolve around the character of Vasu.

17) Mohan and Megha

This was a relationship that I thought a lot about, turning every scene and spoken work in my head, scrutinising it all to figure out if perhaps I was being too harsh when I concluded that Megha was Mohan’s bane. But regardless of how much I wanted Megha to be good for Mohan, to be right for him, it was not happening. The song choice was on purpose, of course. Because there were times when I wondered if perhaps Mohan was wasting his life, his young years, on a woman who was not worth the fight, in the end. Harsh? Yes, perhaps. But I would like to start from the beginning.

The initial clashes between Mohan and Megha were not of a romantic sort. Mohan would be chasing Koyal around Indore, distracted, impatient, and Megha would somehow end up in his path. He would be sarcastic, provocative, and not bother with any explanations. Frankly, it was refreshing. It was refreshing to see a character that was not swayed by external beauty; to see a character that was incredibly passionate about his work. Their collisions never ended well. They ended with Mohan flapping sarcasm in her face and Megha insulting him in return. Provoking her quickly became Mohan’s favourite pastime, more so when she was employed at the exact same publishing house as him.

However, Mohan was not a cocky bastard despite being downright rude at times. There was a giant heart inside his chest; one that empathised with others – even if he masked it well. Mohan could not ignore someone’s pain, regardless of how hard he tried (e.g. Nanhi in the elevator, Papaji when he lost the case in court and had an asthma attack, Megha when Nanhi “ran away from home” and she could not find her, or when the parents of the victims in the crash came to Mohan for justice). Mohan had to help. It was in his blood, in his nature.

A friendship soon formed between Mohan and Megha despite his article on Amar. However, much like their romantic relationship, it did not stand on a solid foundation, but often crumbled. In its initial phase, there were some quite entertaining situations where Mohan and Megha bonded without even realising it. An example would be the “elevator” episodes in which they were both stuck in an elevator at the mall, forcing them to spend “quality time” together. Mohan almost convinced Megha that if they jumped, the elevator would move. It was one of the rare times that one saw Megha with a childish spirit as she jumped alongside Mohan in order to reactivate the elevator.

What provided a feistier side to their relationship was their opposite world views, e.g. when they debated the content of an article and Mohan was much more focused on the story whereas Megha focused on the people in the story. (However, this did not fit into Mohan’s characterisation because being a reporter of crime, his mission was justice to the people. Thus Megha was given a dialogue that actually should have come from Mohan. The other reporters might have been mechanical and cold in their approach with news/articles, but Mohan was depicted as a reporter with an extraordinary empathic ability.)

Yet Mohan respected Megha despite her opinionated nature, even though her pride tended to hijack her emotions and she refused to admit it when she was in the wrong about something. The fact that Megha made mistakes did not deter Mohan. Instead he would confront her (e.g. when she slapped Nanhi in front of him and later scolded her after they found her in a park). Mohan was always very patient with Megha’s stubbornness and pride, even when he reached a breaking point. The only time that he took the choice out of her hands was when he confessed his love in front of her entire family (and even then, he did not force her to choose him). He had stayed silent because he did not want to put Megha in hurtful situation. But when he confessed for both of them, it was one of the most courageous and right decisions of his life. Waiting for Megha to break the news would have been hopeless since she would have married the doctor (that is, if her family had not demanded the truth from her in the wake of Mohan’s confession).

I was immensely frustrated with Megha at this point. I realised one essential thing about her character. She always victimised herself. She pitied herself. It was a habit that she might have developed around the time that she lost her husband. But either way, it was a frustrating habit that simply made her desicions so completely irrational and inconsistent. When she refused to marry Mohan, she made his mother the reason for it. Then, later, she changed her mind, making Mohan’s happiness the reason for her refusal. Yet she would continue to send him mixed signals – pulling and pushing him with a look, a word, or a question. Mohan would find hope and lose it and find it again and lose it again. Megha’s reasons for rejecting him were barely even circumstantial. If she rejected him because because of his mother, then she could have simply been honest with him about it and given him a chance to deal with his mother. With time, she would have accepted Megha (and she evidently did — despite how Megha treated Mohan). If Megha cared for Mohan’s happiness, in the first place, then she should have said yes since Mohan’s happiness was her. But perhaps she failed to grasp that.

To be honest, I would have liked and/or respected her more if she had rejected Mohan because she did not trust him with the responsibility of her children. I would not have branded her an evil witch for having trust issues. In fact, single mothers might have been able to relate to her situation based on the reason mentioned above. Mohan was young and restless. In fact, he could barely even take care of himself. How would he take care of a wife and two children? For Megha, it would have been a fair question. More so, it could have been shown that Megha wanted him solely for selfish reasons, i.e. she wanted to marry him for her own happiness and the guilt of it could have kept her from surrendering to his proposal. If that had been the actual case, then she might not have appeared a selfless and self-sacrificial saint, but she would have been human. And we do not relate to saints. We relate to humans.

I wondered about Mohan; about why he fell in love with Megha. I enjoyed their chemistry. They had some beautiful moments together, some quite memorable moments. But why did he fall in love with her to the extent that it became an obsession? In his drunken state at her house, he confessed that he noticed her strength, her ability to love unconditionally and sacrifice her own happiness for other people. Yet I failed to see all of this in her. I did not see remarkable strength for a widow (e.g. she was not on her own with her children, but she had a support system in her in-laws); she was not uneducated or jobless (and she had a best friend who was more than willing to help her in any case); she was not exceptionally sharp (often she would be oblivious to her surroundings and Mohan’s emotions); she could never see past her own grief (e.g. every time she rejected Mohan, when they lost Addu, when she fed Nanhi’s resentment toward Mohan for 12 years simply because sheresented him, et cetera). Megha had an untouchable aura about her that could make even confident Mohan insecure. There were times when he did not dare to touch her, or as much as look her in the eye.

I concluded that he must have fallen in love with her because of 1) his bond with Nanhi and 2) Guru’s many stories in which he drew comparisons between Mohan/Megha and his own parents and 3) Megha seemed to represent the warmth/purity of a loving woman, a home, and finally 4) Mohan’s own nature.

1) His bond with Nanhi was his first reconnection with the world. It was a breach of his wall. It was his mind opening up to the possibility of allowing people to enter his heart again. 2) Guru’s stories incited the notion that perhaps his admiration/sympathy for Megha was something more. 3) Mohan always craved a stabile home and female warmth. Someone who needed him in return. 4) Mohan as a person was unable to simply relinquish his love/concern for someone that he came to care for, e.g. it took him six years to move on from Rashmi and only because Megha replaced her.

Furthermore, I wondered about Megha’s love for Mohan and concluded that a part of her – at least on a subconscious level – wanted Mohan to herself. If she had actually wanted to share him with anyone else; if she had wanted him to become a part of her world, then she would have introduced him in her family as an authority figure, as the father of Nanhi and Addu, explaining to Nanhi that she could no longer refer to him as Spiderman because what we name a thing or a person matters to how we perceive/view them. Added to that, how was Addu supposed to accept Mohan as a father figure if his sister addressed him as Spiderman (not father) and his mother allowed it? E.g. Megha would rarely reprimand Addu when he disrespected his father and if she had enough presence of mind to do so, she told him not to “speak that way”. She did not tell him not to speak that way “to his father”, which was an essential point to make.

Another reason that I reached the abovementioned conclusion about Megha was that she would playfully question Mohan about how much he loved Nanhi in comparison to her. In my opinion, it was an odd question. I could not understand why she would want to ask her husband who he loved more – his wife or his child. How do you measure and compare love for your own family? And why did it matter to her if he loved her 8 year old daughter more than he loved her? Should it not have been a positive thing that someone loved your fatherless child as much as her biological father would have? Mohan never questioned her love for him, nor did he compare it to her love for her children. In his case, he could never compete with them. But more than that, the idea of it never even crossed his mind.

The scene in which he showed up drunk at her house and confessed his love was when I realised – for the second time – that Megha did not deserve Mohan or his love. Not only was it absolutely frustrating to watch her treatment of him ever since she had blamed him for the Rashmi incident (which she initiated on her own as well as continued the charade despite the fact that Mohan asked her to stay out of it), but I could not comprehend how (as a woman who claimed to love him deeply) she could stand and watch in silence while he stumbled around in her living room, wept, and dropped to his knees in front of her in-laws. Was this the same woman who had defended her dead husband in a court house, face to face with his killer? Was this the same woman who did not shy away from shutting up Renu when she crossed a line? This woman who could not back up the man that she loved as he swayed on his feet – broken and bruised from her consistent and baseless rejection, battered from fighting for her and from the fear of losing her.

Often I could not rationalise Megha’s actions/reactions, e.g. when she wasted 12 years of her life believing that Mohan physically and emotionally abused her son and caused his disappearance. Later, she suddenly realised that since Addu might have been kidnapped, Mohan could not have been abusive – as if Mohan’s abusiveness and Addu’s kidnapping related to each other; as if both incidents could not have taken place, but that one made the other void. There was never a point when Mohan received a clear admission of guilt from Megha. To blame a father of abuse is a severe accusation. Mohan lived with that accusation for 12 years, and ninety-five percent of the reason behind his return was that he needed to prove his innocence – to prove that he was a good man. It would have been nice to see Megha unable to forgive herself for believing such a thing, and perhaps even revealing some amount of self-hatred, e.g. when the truth about Rimjhim being adopted came out and Mohan told her how he found (that he was alone and broken), it would have been the perfect opportunity for Megha to look guilty and blame herself for Mohan’s suffering.

The most prominent issue with Megha was her hypocrisy. Most of the time, she would lecture others. She would preach about love and trust, but when it came to her, the same rules did not apply, e.g. she would claim to have blind faith in Mohan (when Mohan exposed Manav’s past) and yet she was the first one to waver if he was prosecuted (when he handed over the proof of Amar’s innocence to save Nanhi, or when Megha found out about Riddhima). She would be the first one to doubt his intentions. She would be the first one to shut him out of her life. She would be the first one to disown him. Her trust in him and her love for him was not cemented even after he proved his loyalty to her, nursing her back to health in season one. He could have abandoned her. He could have divorced her, washed his hands clean of any kind of responsibility toward her and her children. But he stayed. He adopted the role of a husband, father, mother – and a nurse. It broke him to see her in such a horrid condition, to not be able to fix her. He would cry for her, lie for her, fight for her. Yet she easily distrusted in him.

Perhaps if the channel/writers had not attempted to make her appear a saint, then Megha’s selfishness would not have been so disturbing. It might even have made sense. Why should she not be selfish? She was married young. She was not accepted by her in-laws for a long time. She was alone with two children. She could not shed her dutiful/pure daughter-in-law skin because she lived with her in-laws. She always had to prioritise others before herself; her husband, her children, and her in-laws. Then a young man charmed his way into her heart, making her feel ridiculously free-spirited. He would draw out the child in her. He would draw out a bolder side of her that perhaps she kept suppressed in order to be what others wanted her to be. There were no expectations from Mohan. She did not have to be selfless and strong. In fact, falling in love with Mohan was probably the most selfish thing that she ever did. Mohan breathed life into Megha, but she never realised his value. If she had, she would never have let him walk away from her.

In order to show Megha as a saint, the channel/writers neglected the character/relationship development between Mohan and other people in his life. They would often write Megha into scenes where she had no business being, e.g. when Beera brought a drunken Mohan home and Rimjhim called Megha for advice on how to take care of her unconscious father. Firstly, Megha had not been around every time Mohan had hit rock bottom in the wake of Addu’s disappearance. Guru had. Secondly, since Guru had always been there to pick him up in his alcohol-induced state, Guru knew exactly how to take care of Mohan and he would have removed his shoes, and so on. In addition to that, he would not have allowed Rimjhim to be in the room with him. Personally, I loved the scene in which Rimjhim removed his shoes and tucked him in. But somehow it would have made a much stronger and realistic impact if Guru had been the one to guide her hand, not Megha.

There was love between Mohan and Megha. But it did not run deep (on Megha’s side). Their relationship stood on a shaky foundation of trust-distrust (e.g. there was a moment at Nanhi’s wedding when Renu questioned Mohan about why he had tried to stop the wedding, and Megha told her that Mohan did not need to explain himself to anyone — however, as soon as Renu turned away, Megha questioned Mohan herself, asking him for a reason).

I could tell that the channel/writers were attempting to make it seem as if fate had pushed Mohan and Megha into each other’s lives. Perhaps it had. But every single choice that they made in relation to their relationship was not predestined. They made the choices and they faced the consequences. At one point I wondered about the concept of fate on the show. Perhaps they were not even meant to fall in love. Perhaps Mohan was only put in Megha’s path to clear her husband’s name. People believed that they were separated again and again only to have their bond strengthened when they found each other. What if they were separated again and again because they were not good for each other? What if the separations were really opportunities for them to move forward without each other? It is a matter of interpretation, really.

Something that I always found interesting was how Mohan thrived when Megha was not in his life, e.g. in Bhopal, he became a social worker, he became rich, he raised a beautiful daughter, and he was happy. Yes, there was guilt over what happened to Addu and there was longing for Megha, but looking at Mohan as a character, I believe that he could have found love again and moved on under the right circumstances (e.g. if he did not have to deal with the guilt and if he was not legally married to Megha).

In the end, I believe that Megha destroyed him. That he let her destroy him.

Concluding the study on Mohan (and before moving on to the study on Vasu), I would like to add that Mohan as a crime reporter could have been explored on a more intense level. He had a desire to save the world, to aid those in need of justice – this could have put him in all kinds of dangerous situations which naturally would have put a strain on his and Megha’s relationship. Precious time was often wasted on unnecessary drama when some situations could have been depicted in a more believable manner – and one that stretched on for a while, e.g. when Mohan investigated the case on drug dealing. It was an incredibly disappointing episode that was stitched together in an illogical way (again because the focus was Megha worrying, Megha seeing him getting shot, Megha saving him, et cetera). From the very moment that Mohan entered the warehouse to fix a bulb (something that even Megha knew how to do on her own, but apparently drug dealers did not), snooped around unseen by any of them, to the moment that he ran from them.

There was never any real focus on Mohan as a top-notch crime reporter, his work (at times as a whistleblower), or his methods.

A 2 🌟 Journey

It was just like a normal day,

I went to khandwa for one day work and returning back. I was enjoying my music , dodging all the obstacles ( seriously there a lot on the road , thanks to govt ).

The journey was going great with music, joyful weather and spending time with myself.

Suddenly,I was stopped by few cops, they are looking at be with suspension, I was thinking I did some crime and they are going to throw me behind the bars.

The cops called be out asking for IDs and papers, enquiring me, then they said, "Will you help us, (suddenly a thought came that they ask me for chasing a thief) I said Yes why not,

The cop said their 2 star senior officer need to reach Indore for a medical emergency , hearing this( I was looking for a injured cop shot by bullet , and blood is spread on the road, but I can't see anything like this).

He said his 2 star officer will meet me at the next station, he took my number , give me his and the senior officer.

This is the first time I was in a long chat with a cop actually a friendly chat. I was a bit nervous from inside, but didn't show it.

I reach the police station and call the cop and asked ' Hey sir, where are you I am waiting, he replied with deep hardcore voice, I m coming sir '. Hearing Sir from a cop with respect, is among some few things I wish to hear before die. My confidence is on another level.

The cop arrived, he was more than 6 ft tall , dark complexion, a very appealing body language.

I was thinking will he even fit in my WagonR car.

Is came sit in my car , I can feel the difference between us, but I owned the car.

He thanked me for the lift.

Initially, I was thinking did I made a mistake by giving lift to a cop. But when we talk , I feel proud that I do a good thing.

And the journey begins,

I took off my earpods from one side and driving, he introduced himself in a very dramatic manner. That was a great introduction in a poetic manner.

He ask my introduction, I tell him just in the same manner like I was giving a interview.

Whem I tell him I am cashier, he very curiously asked 'what will you do when you find any difference in cash mostly shortage?' I thought first to tell him the truth, but I released he is a cop, so I only tell him what is needs to know, the said you are working in a huge risk. Then he said you usually got free from work six and we have 24 hours non stop duty,But my importance was shown to him indirectly by continuous calls I am receiving from bank, first from my BM then from my pretty colleague, he was listening my call from BM and said your boss don't even left you even after work, I feel happy that he got me even without telling. My BM was shouting at me on call. After the call ended he asked my BM number but I ignored it . One thing , the officer was doing is comparison between our job , but he never express my bank job as lesser important than his.

I asked him his purpose of going Indore , he said it was a medical emergency, he got severe toothache and need to operate it immediately. One thing I feel said is he had fight for one day leave from his superiors, I mean he got 4 5 calls for justification of leave. I asked him that for one leave you have to give so many explaination and that to for medical reasons.

He was in police for 38 years and about to retire in couple of years and an orthodox cop continuously blaming society, his work, mostly government and government jobs.

After an hour Journey we reach uphill, he asked to take a small tea break, we stopped and have tea, the cop pay for it, this is something that not happen normally and even more interesting thing that happens is that the dhaba guy served us the tea, he made us set on only available two chair and bring tea for us. I suddenly saw her gun and asked very curiously ' How many times you shot somebody?' He replies, many times sometimes off the record too.

After 5 minutes of break, our journey continues he were talking, I was taking out all the curiousity inside me about a cop, and answerd all of it in very simple manner.

He was an interesting personality, we discuss so many things about life lessons, working experiences, political issues, Lockdown, Covid etc etc and we both agreed to each other in almost every manner.

One thing he was very upset is the mentality of new generation, in our conversation he mentioned many times , the careless and irresponsible attitude of the today's generation.

We, were 40 Kms away from our destination, He got a call from his wife, actually he didn't tell her that he is coming, so when she call he didn't lie and tell her in a very romantic manner( just like an obedient husband).

His wife said to come on the way to pick him.

It was Friday night, we entered the city and it was very crowded, and we are moving slowly.

It was isolated miles away from everything and no neighbor. He still had the huge home in Indore n, but this was where he and his wife would be living. It was nice house, 4 bedrooms 2 and a half baths. A nice size kitchen and dining room. The house was surrounded by lot of land and woods. He wanted a house small enough where his wife could take care of the cleaning with no help. There would be no maids to wait on her. He was going to have a proper wife who did the cooking and cleaning for her self. He remembered his ex wfe with a smirk. She couldn't even fry an egg or boil water. He had to hire maid just to clean up after them. She couldn't do anything for herself, spoiled rich bitch. Well all that was over his new wife was going to have too earn her keep. No shopping all day and having maids to cook and clean. No refusing to have children because it might ruin her figure. As far as Kabir was concerned they should go back to arranged marriages and a time when women knew there place, everyone would be much better off. He got up and headed off to bed. First night Part 3 Pooja stood on the porch of the house looking around. It was a beautiful place. The house was nice a lot nicer than theirs. It was two story brick house. It was surrounded by a huge stone wall and had a security gate up. The man obviously liked his privacy. The whole place was wonderful. She would have many things to paint and sketch here. "Wake up girl and stop you're damn daydreaming." Karan said. Pooja jumped at her father's voice. Karan rang the door bell. The door opened and Pooja about passed out on the spot. This man was huge. He towered over her. He was close to 6 foot tall. He had auburn short hair. He had the deepest brown eyes Pooja had ever seen, and a neatly trimmed goatee and mustache. This man was huge ten times bigger than her father. She shivered as she imagined the damage he could do if he hit her. She stood there beside the big man and repeated the vows back as if in a trance. Her father would kill her if she messed up so she did what she had been told. Kabir watched her. She seemed to be in a daze of some sort. She also seemed very docile. Kabir grinned. "Good. He wanted an obedient wife. It would make things easier for him" he thought. The minister pronounced them man and wife. Kabir leaned down and kissed her quickly on the cheek and that was that. "Pooja go upstairs and wait in our room. I will bring your things up in a minute. It's the second door on the right side of the hall." Kabir said. Pooja got up and went out to the foyer and started up the stairs. Kabir watched her. He was very pleased with her. She did exactly what he said. "She's a good girl. She will make you a good wife." Karan said. Kabir paid the minister and he left. Then he pulled out a check and handed it to karan "Our business is concluded." Kabir said dismissing him. "If you have any trouble with her call me." Karan said. "If I have any trouble, I will deal with it my self." Kabir said coldly He didn't like this man and wanted him out of his house. "Well of course." Karan said. He was eager to go and start spending the money anyway. Kabir showed him to the door. "Nice doing business with you Kabir." Karan said. "Yea." Kabir said looking at him derisively. Kabir closed the door and picked up pooja's bags and headed upstairs. Pooja had found the bedroom. It was huge and done in Brown and hunter green. The bed was the biggest she had ever seen. There was a balcony that had a table and chairs set up on it. The bathroom was huge with a sunken tub it was also done in brown and green. Pooja went back to the bedroom and sat down on the bed to wait. She didn't have long. Kabir came barreling through the door and set her luggage down. "You can unpack later." Kabir said. Pooja couldn't bring her self to look at him. He was scary. Kabir went over to her and lifted her chin. "Get your clothes off and get in the bed. I'll be out in a minute." Kabir said. Pooja shivered as he walked in the bathroom. She did as he said and climbed under the covers. Pooja was trembling she was so scared. She had no idea what to expect. Pooja felt the mattress dip as Kabir climbed in the bed. He pulled Pooja to him and kissed her hard on her mouth parting her lips with his tongue. Pooja stiffened. Kabir slid his tongue in her mouth. If Pooja had known what to expect she might have enjoyed it, but she was overwhelmed and frightened. Kabir ran his hands down her body grabbing her breast and pinching her nipple. Pooja was trembling in fear which Kabir misunderstood, he though she was as excited as him. He moved on top of her and pressed his huge erection against her. Pooja lost it at that moment. "Answer me." Kabir said harshly. "Yes." Pooja said in a trembling voice. "Shit." Kabir said letting go of her chin. Kabir stood up pissed as hell. That bastard lied to him. The last thing he needed was some hysterical little girl that was forced into this. He picked up his cell phone and called Karan. "Get your ass back to my house now!" Kabir yelled and hung up. Pooja jumped at his yelling. "Get dressed." Kabir snapped at her. "What are you going to do?" Pooja asked in fear. "The deal is off. I sending you back to your father. We will have the marriage annulled." Kabir said in agitation. Pooja was scared as she had ever been. Her father would kill her. The tears started rolling down her face again. Kabir slid his pants on. He looked at Pooja and seen she was crying again. "Stop that damn crying." Kabir snapped. Pooja tried to stop but she couldn't. "Please don't send me back." Pooja whispered. Kabir sat down on the bed and looked at her. "Come here." Kabir ordered. Pooja scooted over to set in front of him. "Look at me." Kabir said. Pooja looked up at him. "Why?" He asked. "He'll kill me." Pooja said. "I need to think. Stay here I'll be back in a few minutes." Kabir said and left the room. Pooja sat on the bed not moving. She just couldn't go back to her father. She would do whatever Kabir said if he just didn't make her go back.
