well, and this may come as a shock to you, but... it's live! coming at you live from [redacted], california, on discord 24/7 (except when I'm asleep, or at work, or eating, or doing anything else which is most of the time)

an actual answer: I'm writing it in order! even when I have ideas for future scenes I'm trying not to write even little bits of them down in advance, which is hard! usually I come up with bits of narration or dialogue at random times, scribble them down, and then string them together later, but I'm trying not to do that for this one. though I did break my own rules and write down one line of dialogue last night, it was just TOO good to risk forgetting. which is good because I don't remember what it was!

also, I started it six days ago and it's over 10k words, what the HELL. liveficcing make words go brrr

Great Gaokerena, that titanic, magnificent white lotus at the heart of the Harvisptokhm, was dying amidst a flood of corrupted violet light, streaming in from the victorious Sign of Apaosha above, greedily swallowing the skies above the Girdle of the Sands; ever-growing, ever-darkening, as all life down below looked up at it and cowered in silent horror.

All life, but two tiny sparks.

The puppet and the Bloomguard faced off against the towering herald of the deep darkness in the great flower’s throat, all three hovering above the clear water covering the pristine white petals – pristine, but wilting visibly under the torrents of corrupted light, the presence of the jagged, four-armed silhouette.

this is an abandoned WIP from like... last summer? it was supposed to be another fic in this AU but it got SO EXTREMELY JOSSED by ATFOTS that I never finished it. the basic premise was that when the RC scattered, Masseo ended up injured on Woodlark and Ludvic took him in, but Masseo was from a different island and I had a lot of ideas about Ludvic's family. I spent a lot of time researching Madagascan wood which was absolutely not necessary and then never got back to writing before ATFOTS so most of it is unconnected paragraphs, here's one:

Masseo swallows back his own Azilinti accent, rising unbidden at the sound of the young man's. His accent has softened over the years away, growing more cosmopolitan, more unidentifiable. He'll have to fight hard to keep it that way, here of all places. Easier to say nothing.
