‘This is a quantum universe,’ said Spike, ‘neither random nor determined. It is potential at every second. All you can do is intervene.’ ‘What do you suggest I do ― to intervene?’ Spike leaned forward and kissed me. ‘Bend the light.’ Jeanette Winterson, The Stone Gods

TOUCH.
Zechariah 2:8.
“…for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.”
The context is Israel. God is saying ‘You touch Israel, you touch Me.’ “Apple of His eye”  is the pupil through which rays pass to the retina; it is the tenderest part of the eye. Touching it means to strike violently, to injure it.
The application for us: when  someone touches us for harm, they are also touching God. This is saying several things: God sees, He feels the pain, identifies with us through it and will intervene.
This week, watch for His intervention…because He says this in verse 9: “I will surely raise My hand against them.”
Pastor Robin.

[INTERVENE] -> one muse is being hit on aggressively in public, and is clearly not into it. the other muse steps in to intervene. //teddy to the rescuuuue
She had only wanted some air.
Teufort’s local watering hole was packed with lead-poisoned idiots who had nothing better to do with their evening, and the other mercs, though they were considerably more tolerable, were still mercenaries. They were celebrating another win there, and they were LOUD. Jack wanted to get a quick smoke break outside before returning to the noisy ambience of the bar. She just needed to step out for a minute, and then she’d be right as rain and ready to socialize again.
Unfortunately, someone had followed her outside, because she heard an unfamiliar voice come from the doorway to her right.
“Hey, how’s it goin’, pretty lady?” the voice drawled.
Brilliant. The one time she didn’t bother covering her blind spot. Jack simply rolled her eyes and avoided looking at him. Sometimes that was enough to make them go away.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. The man took her chin in his hand and turned her head to look up at him. He stood almost a foot taller than her, and she grimaced at the stench of alcohol as he breathed down on her.
“Hey, Doll, I’m talkin’ to you.”
Jack, bristling, jerked away. “Don’t touch me.” Her blood boiled at her face being touched, but she tried to keep her voice level as the last thing she wanted was to have to deal with an angry stupid drunk. She just didn’t have the energy for this right now.
The man chuckled, and it was just the sort of ugly, brutish sound she expected to hear from a bumbling idiot like him. “Trying to play the tough girl, aintcha? Don’t worry, that ol’ scar don’t scare me none.”
He put a hand on each of her shoulders and, before she could slide away, pressed her into the wall she had been leaning against. Even drunk, he was surprisingly strong.
Jack put one hand in her jacket pocket and gripped her switchblade, seething. She was ready for a fight if it became necessary, but she did not want to spend the rest of her energy on this joker if things got ugly. Teufort’s crazy law enforcement would get involved, and although Pauling would make sure Jack wasn’t detained long, it would still ruin the entire rest of her evening. With any luck, she could end this quickly with no casualties and just go back inside and get on with her life.
So she kept looking for a way out and gave him one more warning.
“Listen. Sir. I’m gonna try asking politely: Get. Your. Damn. Hands. Off. Me. … Please.”
The man smirked, and his head dropped briefly as if his neck realized for a second that it was also inebriated. He looked back up at her and brought his face just inches from hers.
“Or what, Dollface?”
