Another thing I can add to those posts is that, if before I could only think with conviction that Camila had never used antidepressants (for reasons I explained in the second question of the first link) but I couldn't be sure, now I have 100% confirmation of it. I recently came across an old interview of hers for a research I'm doing, and I found the article of the interview Mila did with Elle Magazine “Women In Music” released on September 5, 2019:

“Did your obsessive-compulsive disorder worsen when you left Fifth Harmony?”

“The compulsive behavior happened to me as far back as elementary school. But the OCD, the more difficult side of it, came full swing at the end of my time with the group. I was under insane amounts of stress, and it was too much anxiety for me to handle; it turned into OCD. I’ve never taken medicine. I learned a lot of self-soothing and coping mechanisms to rewire my brain along the way. I think learning how to navigate it and be gentle with it—and even love it—makes you a better person in the end.”

No, dear Anon, I'm sorry. 5H went on tour in Asia twice. The first time for the 7/27 Tour from March 23 to April 8, 2017, and the second time for the PSA Tour from February 26 to March 14, 2018, before continuing with the other stops. Mila was elsewhere both times.

2017: she was in Los Angeles from February 20 to May 22, 2017, mainly to work on the Camila album but also for the different events, interviews, and various commitments.

2018: On 26 February 2018 evening, she arrived in Los Angeles (PR pictures with Matthew at the airport) after being in London. From February 27 to March 5, 2018, she was in Miami. And from March 6 to 15, 2018, she was in Los Angeles.

So as you can see… Not to mention that it would've been too risky. It's one thing to be in the same place because of something like an event, and another one it would be to get caught in a place where one or the other has absolutely nothing to do with. I'll explain myself better.

Remember the Z100 Jingle Ball in New York City on December 8, 2017, when they were caught talking backstage? That news obviously caused a lot of stir, but if you think about it, that stir was made only for the narrative because, being in the same place, didn't involve the real scoop since they were there to perform and not for personal reasons. Think instead if people were to catch one of them at the other's concert, or on a tour date, or at something personal anyway. What excuse would they have? It would be much but much worse because literally, there would be no justifications. And that's why it's too risky and they won't. Not until they're free to be friends again publicly at least, and even then, I find it difficult.

P.S. an advice, dear Anon? 😄 Always check these rumors, especially if they're just words without a shred of proof.

So. Like Friends Do is a song that Mila wrote in 2014 when she was 17. She sang a snippet of the song on January 17, 2018, in a live Instagram interview with Genius' Rob Markman to promote the Camila album (so you can go listen to it if you want). Like Friends Do is about the fuckbuddies situation Camren had. More specifically, it's about the beginnings of their friendship with benefits in 2013, because what they did wasn't a behavior like, indeed, like friends do. They continued to be fuckbuddies even in part of 2014 before Mila got together with the mystery girl because Laur wasn't ready to give Mila what she wanted yet; the relationship she needed. When Laur got her head out of her ass (🤣) and was finally ready, she got her girl back and they became official in April 2014.

The woman you're referring to is called Jillian Gutowitz, and she’s a friend of Laur’s. Jill is a freelance writer and was one of the co-hosts of the Zach Sang Show for one year:

The day Jill met Laur was April 22, 2015, thanks to her work. On April 22, 23, and 24, 2015, there was the Worldwide Radio Summit for which 5H performed on the 22nd (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmkvOhqf29E) and they were also present on the 23rd. It was there that the girls, and therefore also Laur, met Jill:

So much so as to invite her to her 19th birthday celebrated in advance on June 24, 2015, at the famous sushi restaurant Katsuya:

Jill is super-duper mega gay, and on January 25, 2016, she wrote an article for AfterEllen about her experiences with women who denied their sexuality. In the article, she didn't use the real names of these women, but she used made-up names. One of the names that interest us in particular is Jordan:

— Remember how I said before that Laur and Jill met at the Worldwide Radio Summit on April 22nd, 2015, and that 5H was also present on the 23rd? Well, with the phrases ‘Upon our second meeting’ and ‘The next day’, Jill meant the 23rd.

— With ‘she did invite me to her birthday party where she made out with a guy in front of me’, she obviously wanted to refer to Noah and to the birthday at Katsuya's.

— ‘she was full on dating her childhood best friend’ served to more or less confirm Laucy, and the noun ‘childhood best friend’? It was chosen specifically to leave no doubt that she was referring to Lucy. If ‘Jordan’ had simply said a friend, everyone would have IMMEDIATELY connected and pointed the finger on Camila, and THAT, absolutely couldn't happen. It couldn't be an option. Not for Laur’s coming out plan and Mila’s exit from the group. Not at all.

Now let’s focus on how you can tell it was all fabricated.

Number 1. ‘Next, to the first girl to truly hurt my feelings: Let’s call her Jordan.’

First of all, Jill came out years before she met Laur.

So I highly doubt that Laur was the first girl to truly hurt her feelings. In fact, I'm willing to bet on it since Jill's the same age as me (born in December 1991 like me, so she's still 29 for another two months). Jillian and Lauren have 4 years and 6 months age gap, and when Jill came out, young Lolo probably hadn't even auditioned for X-Factor yet.

Number 2. ‘Dear Jordan, you’re gay, fuck you, but also—it’s ok.’

Do you really believe that if that sentence had been true, they would've remained friends?

Do you really believe that if Jill had really been hurt by her, she would've remained her friend? Or that Laur would've remained friends with someone who wrote something shady like ‘you’re gay, fuck you’ publicly albeit indirectly because of the pseudonym (Jordan)? Because I highly doubt that Laur would've granted her more interviews and that both of them would've continued to hang out. But they did:

Jill is also very close friends with Debby Ryan and Keana Marie (one of Laur's oldest and dearest friends).

They did because they were friends, and still are, and that was just a farce for Laur’s narrative purposes.

Number 3. When Jill first met Laur, she was already dating the one who later officially became her girlfriend.

As you can see from the 2016 screenshot, her name is Brittany Ashley. So I searched backward when they were official but when they both hadn’t yet said it publicly:

So putting aside the logic of the Number 1 & Number 2 points, this proves sufficiently per se how much fabricated Jordan’s story was.

Number 4. On August 15, 2016, AfterEllen (still the one Jill wrote for) nominated all 5H for the Hot 100 List (a list of famous women where other women vote for the sexiest). On September 2, 2016, Laur was proclaimed the winner of the Hot 100 List (Mila was number 3), and in the proclamation article, Camren were mentioned. Jill wrote the winning one, and since the girls were on tour (7/27), the interview with Laur was done by phone. The article from that interview came out a few days later, which was on September 6, 2016, and oh so coincidentally, on the same day, Jill posted a picture with Laur dating back to the previous year's birthday dinner so as to oh so very subtly confirm the story of ‘Jordan’ even more:

SPOILER ALERT: The story includes details about the April 1 episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

After a string of intense and heavy episodes marked by tragedy, including the deaths of DeLuca as well as Bailey’s mom, Grey’s Anatomy delivered a hopeful one-hour tonight. The biggest development came at the very end, when Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) was taken off the ventilator and was able to breathe on her own. She was “helped” by two old friends who tragically died nine years ago, her sister Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) and Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) who visited her on the beach and made the case why she needed to fight to live.

While Leigh’s return was revealed in the promo at the end of last episode, Dane’s appearance was kept a surprise as his Mark joined Meredith and Lexie on the beach. As the trio chatted, Mark shared that he talks to his daughter Sofia, as well as her moms, Callie and Arizona, all the time. Mark and Lexie also showed a lot of affection towards each other, and when Meredith asked if the two were still together, Mark said, “On your beach it looks like we are.”

While Meredith kept saying how much she loves it on the beach, Lexie and Mark talked about what they miss about being alive and urged her to choose life. “Don’t waste one single minute,” Mark said in their final conversation before Meredith was taken out of the coma, possibly ending the season-long beach motif, conceived by showrunner Krista Vernoff, which also featured visits from Patrick Dempsey’s Derek Shepherd and T.R. Knight’s George O’Malley.

Elsewhere in the episode, there were positive developments all-around. The two main medical cases had happy endings, including one where the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial faced a Sophie’s Choice situation with one ventilator left and a mother and her daughter both in desperate need to be intubated. Teddy was on the mend, Owen and Koracick almost reconciled. And, along with Meredith’s successful reentry after she was taken off the machine, Winston proposes to Maggie at the end of the episode, and she said yes.

In an interview with Deadline, Dane spoke about how his Grey’s return came about. He took us behind the scenes of filming the beach scenes with Pompeo and Leigh, shared his take on Mark and Lexie’s relationship status and the duo’s pivotal role in giving Meredith strength to cling onto life when she is taken off the ventilator. He also discussed the remarkable longevity of Grey’s Anatomy and his return to production on his current series, HBO’s Euphoria.

DEADLINE: When and how did you get approached about returning to Grey’s Anatomy?

DANE: I was in Shanghai, filming a movie, a Chinese production for that market, a historical piece, and Krista reached out to me and said, hey, I’d like to talk to you about something, let me know when you have some time. I said well, I’m in Shanghai, China right now, let’s talk right when I get back. I don’t remember the timeline, I know I was in Shanghai in August. She explained to me what was happening in the story, and she said, we want to put Mark Sloan on the beach with Lexie Grey.

DEADLINE: What was your reaction? Did you like the idea?

DANE: Yeah, I thought it was a great idea. I thought it made sense, considering the circumstances.

DEADLINE: What do you mean?

DANE: I mean, if you’re ever going to bring Mark Sloan back, I guess with Meredith in a coma, it’s a good way for her to see him. So, it wasn’t a tough sell, and it made sense.

DEADLINE: Tell me about the filming of your scenes. You got to spend time with Ellen and Chyler, the crew. How was it going back into character, revisiting your past and reuniting with old friends?

DANE: It was like I’d never left. It was a great day at the beach. It was great to see some of the familiar faces and same crew members, and we didn’t skip a beat. I love those people. I spent a significant portion of my life with those people, I’d do just about anything for them.

DEADLINE: What did you, Ellen and Chyler chat about in-between takes?

DANE: Masks, Covid. I hadn’t seen Chyler in a while, but Ellen I stay in contact with, and just, how are the kids? Kids are good. Small talk. There wasn’t a lot of time in-between takes because of the protocols and how we had to set it up. So, once we got going, it was almost like a runaway train.

DEADLINE: And it was easy to go back into character?

DANE: Yeah. I mean, look, I created Mark Sloan. It was not that difficult for me to get back into character.

DEADLINE: What did you think about Mark and Lexie playing such an important role in giving Meredith a will to live and a reason to fight as she soon thereafter started to breathe on her own?

DANE: Well, Mark Sloan and Lexie Grey are embedded in the DNA of that show, and also literally, Lexie and Meredith share the same DNA. So, I think there’s a connectivity there and reminding her that, gone but not forgotten, we’re always around if you need us, and it’s too early for you to stay on the beach.

DEADLINE: And there was something comforting, I’m sure, in you reassuring fans that Mark is OK…

DANE: Sure. Absolutely. You see that everybody’s okay and happy; it allows you to want to come back for something.

DEADLINE: .. And that Mark also is watching over his daughter.

DANE: Yeah, whether she’s listening to me or not. You always have somebody looking over you. I lost my father at a very early age, and I feel like he’s watching over me in some capacity.

DEADLINE: When Meredith asked whether Mark and Lexie were together, you said “On your beach, we are”. What do you make of that, does it mean that they’re happily together in our imagination?

DANE: I didn’t dig too deep into that. I sort of took it as like, not in your imagination but the way you’re seeing it in your subconsciousness, wherever you are right now, whatever state of being you’re existing in this coma, fever dream, whatever it is, I guess that’s (Meredith’s) projection of perfection. Mark and Lexie are together forever, and I’m sure Mark and Lexie aren’t too bummed about it either.

DEADLINE: What is your vision of Mark and Lexie, how you think that their story continues in the afterlife?

DANE: Mark would’ve found Lexie. He would’ve found her eventually.

DEADLINE: Since you left Grey’s Anatomy, you did one successful series, The Last Ship, which ran for five seasons, and now you are on a second successful series, Euphoria. Meanwhile, Grey’s Anatomy is still going. How do explain the longevity of that show which continues to be going strong 17 seasons in?

DANE: Well, I think there’s a lot of factors but at its core it’s just a great show. People connect with the characters on that show. It seemed to have found a whole new generation of viewership. Shows typically will grow up with a generation, an audience, and eventually that audience will either outgrow that show or move onto something else. But with Grey’s, there’s always been an alchemy in that cast, a dynamic, a chemistry which keeps people showing up. The writing’s good. Krista, Shonda (Rhimes), Betsy (Beers) and now Debbie Allen’s exec producing the show. They’re so good at understanding the tone of that show and finding characters that people will invest in, and what that translates to is season 17.

DEADLINE: Is there anything you miss about Grey’s?

DANE: Well, I’ve maintained contact with a lot of the cast members. An answer somebody would give you, had they not, would’ve been I missed the people, but I’m still friends with all of them. So, there wasn’t really anything to miss.

DEADLINE: Are you going back into production on Euphoria soon?

DANE: In mid-April. We’re actually started now on Season 2. I think I don’t start shooting for a couple weeks, but we are. I’m sure we’re going to get this out as soon as we can. We’ve set a pretty high bar. I’m very proud of that show, everybody involved is very proud of that show.

idk if u care but crispin gray recently had an interview about his entire career and it kind of changed my perspective of queenadreena…idk if for better or for worse lol. it was weird to see him so dismissive of a lot of his catalogue w katie except for ‘love your money’ just because that was the only remotely chart successful song. i get you want to be able to sustain yourself but jeez him and katie really had a weird back and forth relationship

Sorry i'm replying late, i've seen the interview pop up on Youtube but honestly i was too invested in university shit recently & generally not in the good mood for that but i'm planning to watch. How did it change your view on Queen Adreena, did he say something mean specifically on QA or Katie? I mean i gotta watch it but honestly? Not surprised in the slightest. A few years ago he was asked to describe fave songs he recorded throughout the years and he listed more of Daisy Chainsaw ones than anything else, with Love Your Money as number 1. The differences in their points of view are real something, Katie Jane absolutely HATED Love Your Money, same as Daisy Chainsaw. Kinda apparent he wanted bigger fame but DC dropped fast and QA failed to live up to their predictions.

i had a time when i liked to dig up old Queen Adreena interviews that are lost in the old internet & generally not available for years (which i planned to post on is-she-suffering but my investment in that site is... varied in its intensity). Also that was back in the days when i wrote Queen Adreena book during manic phase and tried to sell it but lost motivation Well since i don't do anything with that knowledge anyway i'll put what i know here as i love fan discussions

So they sure had/have odd back and forth love-hate relationship & that's the reason why their career went how it went. There's been a huge tension between them at some point. I'm sure you know she had a major mental breakdown (probably schizophrenic episode) after Daisy Chainsaw, or even beginning before her leaving, and then she went into isolation and lived with an old woman in Lake District for awhile. She left Daisy Chainsaw cause Crispin didn't want her to come up with her own songs (all of DC was by Crispin except for Lovely ugly brutal world by KJ).

They almost split up as Queen Adreena after Drink Me. The material for The Butcher and The Butterfly was written at different times, originally it was meant to be called Atom Bomb at Bikini but it was constantly delaying and they eventually recorded everything they've got live. So that's obvious right? But i was surprised to find out they were writing songs separately. Some of them (i forgot which though) were written by Katie Jane and Pete Howard's sons band (they're even credited) + some with Melanie Garside, Richard Adams + some other musician. Katie Jane didn't like it. They intended it to be their last album at the time. She also hated live at ICA show but they released it cause they were broke

But that's a digression. I just wanna say that at this point they were done with each other but kept pushing it. Katie had her own art projects and stuff, Crispin started Dogbones with Nomi and i just remember how vaguely pissed at Katie he waas in the interviews. Like he stressed that Dogbones is his number one priority and if Katie wants to do something with Queenadreena, she must wait til Dogbones have a break first or something, and it sounded oddly bitter.

RaCH and Djinn era are just so weird, they had opportunities but let them go in a way. I don't think many people know but they were huge demand in Japan. They entered album charts and were interviewed by 11 magazines and 6 (!)TV stations there (wtf happened to that material i want to know???). But they only played 5 times or less.

Katie said she considers the band dead but they decided they can try to play for a couple more months. But aside from that she 100% lost the interest in the band around Djinn. There's an interview where she says "the overall image is Crispin but the shape will change again at rehearsals". And you can hear it, it’s more blues rock than anything. IMO it's their worst production wise. Instruments are fine but Katie's voice is so badly produced that sometimes i find some songs fucking irritating, cause they didn’t cut out her breaths and the vocals are TOO LOUD, to the point of distorting. As if she stands too close to the mic. The album is fine but it feels unfinished.

And here we come back to Crispin... here's what he said after the QA split:

Why the Dogbones started? “I needed to work more than the previous band I was in was working, the previous band who shall remain nameless, haha… um… Queenadreena. I wanted to work more than the singer of Queenadreena wanted to work… so that’s why it started. Fine by me… but I really like to be in a band, I’m not a solo project kind of guy. The last album (‘Djin’) did come out in the UK, but it was so low key because Katie kind of disappeared so there was little point in promoting it. Personally it’s my favourite by far so it was a shame but there you go… So here are Dogbones, it’s not been an easy ride but we are trying very hard.

Ok so the bitterness is kinda apparent isn't it. I think there were two reasons why they argued so much, first musical differences. Katie at some point lost interest in loud rock music for some years and went the folk way in Ruby Throat. I have a theory that Taxidermy and Drink Me are more influenced by Katie Jane and Butcher and Djinn are more Crispin. During first albums i think Katie more actively took part in music composition and choosing arrangements. She wrote lyrics, melodies but also composed a lot of songs on some little electronic keyboard thing and 4 track (Heavenly Surrender, Pray for me, My Silent Undoing, all Lalleshwari +more). Plus she wanted more peaceful/dreamy sound on Taxidermy than full on rock, Crispin complained about it in some 00's interview, that he'd like it to be more rock. Then there are 2 versions of Drink Me, the original has rough and alt versions of songs (it was sold by Katie and it's leaked on FB and probably YT). Crispin Gray apparently really hated the final Drink Me. Now next album is The Butcher & The Butterfly and it's more standard blues rock, no more crazy dreamy things of previous albums etc., Djinn is even more blues rock but darker. Djinn was his favourite at some point while KJ hated Butcher, not sure about Djinn. So i think they had different views on where they should go, Katie made her weird simplistic creepy tunes (like Lalleshwari) and folk melodies adding that strange things to noise rock. Crispin probably wanted blues & rock.

Other than that, i’m convinced they are bitter exes, lol. There’s been rumours about them dating during Daisy Chainsaw for years, plus Katie had a history of dating band members. Crispin wrote X-ing off the days about her. I don’t know if they dated again in Queen Adreena. Then there’s this interview, timeline is unclear, either The butcher & the butterfly or later:

„Katie writes all the songs herself and often looks for melodies and structure with the drummer. With Crispin - her husband or ex-husband, which is not entirely clear to me - for almost three years she has no longer been in a room. "Sometimes we send him a letter with a new song and that's all we can do. All we have are our lungs and our musical talent and we have to do with it. It is repugnant difficult life, I know most of the time how I should deal with it." But Queenadreena will still remain even exist? "I think so, we are now pretty busy and I see where the ship aground.”

I always wondered what exactly happened after Djinn, i’ve seen Katie Jane say „i think they gave up on me” while others said she disappeared. Other times CG said there’s no bad blood between them but at the same time there’s been some weird tension. As of recent i thought they reconnected somehow through the internet and had a good relation but who really knows.s

I get why Crispin gets irritated when people compare everything he does to „stealing from KJ” but honestly, he gave them good reasons, at least in the 90’s. I can believe Starsha Lee singer isn’t copying Katie cause she’s from Brazil or something and she didn’t know Queen Adreena before. But everything else… Crispin’s problem is that he doesn’t know what he wants. He spent 90’s chasing something, tried singing himself, had girl singer replacements and even one KJ copy. Dogbones was ironically his most original non-Katie band, even with all their grunge influences. In a way he wants to be a frontman and at the same time doesn’t. Idk if he’s very controlling, but Daisy Chainsaw shows he valued his songs/lyrics first & in Queen Adreena he had to step back a lot, cause Katie’s condition was she would be in charge of the lyrics. I don’t think he realizes how strongly Daisy Chainsaw issues affected Katie, i mean from her own words you can read that aside from media attention/hate, her being unable to write lyrics had a role in her breakdown. I think she now let go but for years she hated remembering Daisy Chainsaw and she felt kind of worthless cause she was only somebody else’s mouthpiece. I’m not trying to say he’s cruel or anything, but i firmly believe rock lyrics writers should sing their own songs or else there are problems.

They both were writers-composers with different vision and i have impression they struggled a lot while shaping their songs, cause they both stuck to their ideas. Hence 2 versions of Princess Carwash maybe. Katie once said that he „gets terribly upset with her” cause she writes her songs on a simple wind organ and uses a few chord buttons only. Clash of writer ways/personalities/egos and at some point they had to let go.

Maybe he prefers music/bands where he was 100% in control including lyrics (note he wrote/sang some lyrics in Dogbones too). Daisy Chainsaw achieved bigger success US and UK wise as they were offered to play Top of The Pops, and they’re more well liked/remembered by „general alt public”. Queen Adreena however is way more valued as a cult band, with cult following and admiration in UK & France. Most people think Pretty Like Drugs and other QA songs are his best work and he probably finds it irritating cause truth is, he never managed to be more successful than Daisy Chainsaw/Queenadreena. Love Your Money is ironically the least Crispin Gray/DC/QA sounding song in my opinion. I kinda find it irritating that he downplays Queen Adreena cause it was probably his best work in this band but whatever

So yeah sorry for the word spill, that’s what i can think of it right now but as i said, i haven’t watched the interview yet, it’s just this kind of treatment is in a way consistent for him

Sort of fighting with a lot. Not like I’m an overwhelming way, but just a “huh this is interesting.” A lot on my mind, not upsetting but just stuff to contemplate.

Health: I had a lot of blood tests done. Last year, I was diagnosed prediabetic, kidney disease, liver disease, and high blood pressure. Sort of wacky and I was told it doesn’t bounce back. The thing is, it did. I’m still prediabetic and my cholesterol is just bordering on bad. But my doctor reviewed the tests and said liver and kidney are fine. Blood pressure is mostly controlled. So a huge uptick, but long way to go.

Mental health: I’ve been thinking a lot about if I’m also autistic in addition to having ADHD. Not always sure what to do with that, do I mention it to my doctor? Or go with I’m managing it’s fine. When I came back from the office after Covid, I’d forgotten how to mask, and I couldn’t figure out social cues. It was really awkward, I had to relearn eye contact. Random conversations in the hallway terrify me because it’s usually some other manager trying to strike up a conversation and I blurt something weird. My team hears all my weird stuff but they seem to like it.

Work: management still going well. I’ve been nominated to become kind of like a “lead interviewer”. My previous manager went down this path, and he washed out of it so I feel like it might be a bit much but also… maybe I’d do ok with it. I don’t know who nominated me but my boss signed off. Could have been her for all I know. But someone has noticed my work. That’s nice. My team is doing really well, we’re growing. Just short of overstuffed; if my intern takes the offer we extended, I’ll have 10 people next year. That’s about the max without additional managers. We support almost 200 developers. When someone says maybe one QA to a handful of developers, I laugh. My peers have more like 15-30 devs each. Oh sweet summer children. I am running an absolute circus over here.

Drumming: I’m drumming again. Fast ramp up, bought a new electronic kit last month. This week I ended up playing for an hour and a half at rehearsal. I didn’t know any of the songs but one. I made everything up. It was fine. Surprising but nice surprise.

Family: in-laws continue to decline, it’s a mess but it is what it is. My stepson is married and I’m still mind blown about it, it’s been 5 months. I’m sort of avoiding my dad because he wants me to come to a family gathering this week. I’m tired. I don’t know how to tell him. I’m also struggling with this thing I can’t explain. I think my dad would be an awesome grandpa. But neither me or my brother had kids, and won’t. His wife’s health is too terrible, and my liver tumors took it off the table even if I had been inclined. I feel not quite a guilt, but I’m sort of sad for him in a way. Not in a I wish I’d had a kid just so he could be a grabdpa, but more like “at least he has my stepmom’s grandson” which is awesome but there’s a little part of me that knows he’s likely sad about it. It’s not on me but I have this weird feeling it’s going to come up in the near future and I don’t know why. My brother in law is an absolute wreck and we now have power of attorney. It’s not a mess yet but it’s a matter of time. It all makes me want to curl up and sleep.

So, I know I’ve been quiet here. I don’t expect anyone to read all of this, but it’s just kind of there so I’m barfing it out there so I stop chewing on it. 🤣

Jadi. Setelah lulus kuliah di tahun 2016, aku pun balik ke Jakarta. Sebelumnya kuliah di KL. Yah jadi mahasiswa double degree itu cukup menguras dana orang tua dan juga otak gue 😑😑

Dulu pernah berdoa. Aku pengen kerja di startup. Tapi maunya yang di KL. Karna aku kekeuh mau kerja disana. Aku apply sana sini. Dan hasilnya nihil. Tau kenapa? Karna ibu ku pun ga setuju aku jauh dari rumah 😑😕. Akhirnya 4 bulan di Jakarta aku nganggur.. Eh ga nganggur sih. Kerjaan ku ngepel,nyuci,dan pekerjaan rumah lainnya. Tiba-tiba di telepon dari perusahaan KL yang location working nya di Jakarta. Dan aku berpikir " ni kayaknya doa mamah" singkat cerita akhirnya aku diterima di suatu bank daerah kuningan sebagai QA. Dan selama 1 tahun kerja, Alhamdulillah sekeliling ku orang-orang yang taat agama. Dan lama-lama aku keikut dan sering denger kajian tentang riba akhirnya akupun ngerti. Beberapa bulan kemudian nyoba apply sana sini dengan niat mau jauh dari riba.

Akhirnya kucoba lah ruangguru. Alhamdulillah sampai proses interview dan lain-lain nya lancar. Nah disini awal perjalanan ku yang sekarang udah 1 tahun 5 bulan kerja disini 😊.

Dari semua perjalanan di dunia kerja ini. Akupun sadar. Semua ini tidak mungkin bukan karna doa orang tua. Terutama ibu. Kalau ibu bilang engga yaa jangan sekali-kali di tantang 😂 . Sebenarnya aku pun udah apply banyak banget di KL sebelum visa student ku habis. Udah interview sana sini. Tetep aja ga dapet. Akhirnya dapetlah di Jakarta sesuai dengan yang ibu ku mau.

Habis itu aku pengen banget kerja di startup. Dan Alhamdulillah lagi Allah kasih jalan kemudahan. Jadi..... MasyaAllah banget kalau kita nurut sama orang tua dan buat orang tua ridho dengan keputusan kita. Pasti Allah ngasih kita kemudahan kedepan nya.

Kerja di ruangguru,aku banyak banget belajar. Dan ga bisa ku sebutin satu persatu.

That Moment When..

..you realize you turn 30 in like a month and you don’t have your shit together.

I’ve “fallen off the wagon” so many times now I don’t bother keeping count.. I do continue to get back on though. Which is what I’m doing now.

As much as I don’t want to, I know I need to plan my workouts, meals, and stress relief coping skills. I need the structure. As much as I fight it.

I’m at my highest weight ever and it’s just disappointing. There’s no excuses for it. I eat like W and the boys eat, and I don’t have their metabolism or activity level to warrant such. I’m way too sedentary (still meeting my trainer twice a week, but nothing outside of that) to burn off the excess calories.

Work sucks. I hate it. Straight up hate it. I have an intern this semester who is completely unmotivated. Her fall placement didn’t work out, so our office did the school of social work a favor and took her. We don’t normally take BSW students, and for good reason. They don’t have the maturity or skill set to do what we expect. She told us in the interview that she no longer has any plans to follow a career path in social work. She’s going to do wedding photography. Which is great for her, but she isn’t meeting the competencies the college requires. Or what I require. And she’s so non confrontational that she won’t reply to my plea for questions/concerns/frustrations she’s having. I’m over it. And I know she is too. Which is fair.

Other than work and health, life is going ok. I’m happy with my relationships. I’m making peace with the looming 30. I’m loving baseball season with the boys (AND NCAA BASKETBALL SEASON, GO MOTHERFUCKING COCKS! MEN AND WOMEN IN THE FINAL FOUR BABY!) and I had a really great interview with the department of mental health as a QA coordinator. Which I’d be perfect for I think. Only downside is that they are in a budget crisis so I have no idea when I’ll get a second interview. The director was very open though, and all but offered me the position as soon as they are able. So I’m hopeful for that.

And I am glad it’s finally spring.

Disintegration Interview — Marcus Lehto Shares Details on Development, Inspirations, and Working From Home

After an extensive look at the single-player campaign of Disintegration, we had an interview with Marcus Lehto about all things grav-cycle

Marcus Lehto has had an extraordinary career. His big break came when he joined up with Bungie in 1997 and worked on Myth: The Fallen Lords. After that, the company started working on Halo, which he co-created. Officially, he was the Creative Art Director at Bungie, and he made Master Chief, the iconic hulking green spartan. He worked on the series up until 2012 when he left the studio.

In his time since, Lehto has continued his career in video games and in 2016 he founded V1 Interactive. But between leaving Bungie and starting V1 Interactive, Lehto was writing a story, one that would turn into Disintegration, the first title from his studio.

I’ve already written about Disintegration and what you’ll be able to expect from the game’s single-player story. In addition to seeing the campaign in action, though, I also had the chance to talk one-on-one with Lehto about Disintegration.

Otto Kratky: The world of Disintegration is obviously a heavy sci-fi setting, and I like to think that all sci-fi is based somewhat in the real world. It’s some aspect of the real world taken to a drastic extreme.

Marcus Lehto: That’s exactly what we’ve done, yes.

OK: Can you explain how this fits in with Disintegration a little?

ML: Sure, yeah. You know, I look a lot at what is happening around us right now today. That’s a large part of the inspiration. Of course, I started the fiction for this over six years ago. We’re working with the things we see around us every day: climate extremes, issues with political powers, issues with disease, and other things that live on our horizon, that if unchecked and taken to some far extreme, what could that possibly be?

We took a lot of these potential, possible outcomes and put them together in this world where humanity is really struggling to the point where integration became a reality. What happens then with integrated individuals when they stratify or when they militarize? That’s a large part of what has driven the story.

OK: I have to say, that’s a lot to deal with. Is there anything to offset that doom and gloom that is kind of natural in sci-fi?

ML: For sure. On the flip side of it is our characters. You play as Romer Shoal, who slowly forms a group that, as they get to know one another over the course of the campaign, are a group of just normal human beings. They’re not genetically modified crazy super-soldiers like the Master Chief like I’m used to making. These are normal folks. They come from all walks of life with a common goal of surviving and adapting and becoming human again. But as normal people, they joke around, they have banter back and forth, they have relationships and complexities to them. They’ll definitely rib each other in the side.

OK: It’s stuff like that that I personally love to see. A lot of characters in games, Master Chief for instance, cool as he is, has the personality of a baked potato.

ML: Yeah, he was meant to be that empty vessel, and I don’t really want to make another one of those. I wanted to make a character who has a real personality and a real background.

OK: So, and it might be a little early to say this, what do you want players to take away from the game once they finish the campaign and put down the controller? Or is it even fair to ask that question yet?

ML: Oh boy, I think there are definitely messages. One of my first inspirations for the game is, and I know this is me being an old dude, is how much time people spend staring at screens. When it came to like people just being able to talk and feel comfortable in a room together without technology interfering with it, that’s the thing that I kept recognizing. Just how pervasive technology has gotten in our lives on both the positive and negative.

And I really wanted to focus on the negative side – what happens if we allow that integration of technology to be so pervasive that it literally turns us into robots? I want the player to take away from this that humanity is super important and being human and being in a natural world is really, really important, and that we shouldn’t forget that and really embrace it as much as possible.

OK: Absolutely, although given the current circumstances that’s pretty hard, right?

ML: Yeah, no kidding. Especially as we try to wrap this game up we’ve got all 30 of us working from home, with our dogs farting in our offices and everything. It’s ridiculous.

OK: Do you expect any slowdown at all? Pushing back any dates?

ML: It will slow things down for sure, a little bit. We’re pretty much on track. With the transition of everybody being mandated to work from home, there’s been an adjustment period. And that’s not just true for us, it extends to the publisher side of things, the platform side of things, QA, certification, and everything else along the way.

OK: That’s great to hear. Shifting back to Disintegration’s actual gameplay – it’s a unique blend of FPS and RTS, one that I imagine didn’t reach its current point without any hiccups. So what’s been the biggest challenge blending those two genres in a way that? And since your market is FPS fans, how are you trying to hook them in?

ML: To get to the first point, it’s been a real challenge for us to build a game that hasn’t been built before. It’s taken a lot of time. That’s one of the things we didn’t initially realize. How long it would take for us to come to a consensus on the core mechanics – that pure golden nugget in the middle that’s just really awesome and fun to play. That took a lot of time to get to and feel right. It required us to make new mechanics that you couldn’t find in other games. It took a toll, even in the studio. There were some individuals who were so set in just like, first-person shooters are the only thing I know and this was outside of their comfort zone, so they decided to leave the studio. I anticipated that kind of thing to happen.

So that was challenge number one, getting everyone to stick along through the process. And what I want players to do is, to answer your question actually, I want them to get their hands on the controller and be able to immediately feel comfortable in the seat of that grav-cycle. And to, and it totally blows us away that this happens within the first five minutes of someone playing, and it’s a testament to how much work went to the development of the core mechanics, is to see those players not only get that they can command those ground units and use their abilities in tactical ways. That kind of thing, when that happens in the first gameplay session, that’s just total awesome magic.

We also want the player to give Disintegration its due diligence. You know, we want them to play it for what it is and not try to play it like a typical first-person shooter. It’s not like a current battle royale or something like that. The mechanics of the game are deliberate, the grav-cycle has its speeds and its capability to function and move through the environment in certain ways that are totally designed to do that. And the ground units move at certain speeds and have certain abilities that are designed like chess pieces. So when you unlock that kind of stuff mentally, my god man, all kinds of cool stuff can happen.

Disintegration does not currently have a set release date, but it is slated for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One in 2020. You can follow the game’s development closely at its main website here, or on its Twitter page.
