(Those around us can tell us apart, and I don’t have any problem getting spicy food these days~.)

(I get told things like “It was a gift from a business partner, so I saved it for you, Yuuta-san” and “I saw this during a business trip, so I bought it for you”…)

(I’m so glad I’ve been using my love for spicy food as my appeal…☆)

(I’ll have to remember to mention that in my in my interview with the idol magazine today. ♪)

(…I have a lot of solo work tomorrow, too. I’ve gotten a sudden increase in individual appearances lately…)

(I guess it’s because half of 2wink, that sold themselves for their identical looks, suddenly got an image change?)

(Though my blood does boil when trashy gossip mags will write about it and call it a “rebellious phase that came late” or an “agency policy” or whatever.)

(But I try to tell myself it’s better than not being talked about at all.)

Yuuta: (…But when I get pissed off, I get seriously pissed off, though~.)

(Anyhow. The attention I’ll be getting for this is temporary, so I need to make sure I don’t get too cocky.)

(Right now, it’s just bonus time. I’m only being featured out of amusement, because they find it unusual and unheard of—)

Kohaku: What he said. Can’t ya see you’re botherin’ Yuuta-han?

Yuuta: None of your business.

Rinne: Hmm… Are ya growin’ your hair out more?

Yuuta: It’s less that I’m growing it out, and just that I’m not cutting it.

I’m free to do whatever I want with my hair, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of work, aren’t I?

HiMERU: HiMERU agrees. Growing your hair long means more options for styling it.

Kohaku: Is that the reason why Niki-han’s got long hair too?

Rinne: In that guy’s case, growin’ it out would do nothin’ but just have it be longer, wouldn’t it?

He had his hair pulled back when we first met too, just shorter than it is now.

Kohaku: Is that so? …Yuuta-han, can I ask ya a stupid question that’s been on my mind for a while?

Is that hairstyle some sorta show of respect to Madara-han?

Yuuta: Huh, Mikejima-senpai?

Kohaku: Y’know, the half-up sorta look. It’s similar to how Madara-han wears his hair, y’know?

So I figured it maybe was a matter of respect. Doesn’t seem to be the case though, judgin’ from your reaction.

Yuuta: Ahaha… Yeah, it’s just a coincidence. I figured it’d be a little boring if I just grew it out.

It’d get in my face when I move around, so I just tied the sides of my hair up.

It’s a surprise to me that it was taken as a sign of respect for Mikejima-senpai. If I’m gonna grow my hair out, I gotta learn how to style it, huh…

Rinne: How ’bout we Crazy:B try givin’ producin’ yer hairstyle a try, Yuta? We’ll cook ya up a good meal!

Yuuta: Thank you very much~, if you’d be so kind, I’d appreciate it, then~.

Rinne: Ah, I thought ya would never agree to that in your life.

Yuuta: Ahaha. ♪ Seems like the magazine reporter is here to see me, so you’ll have to excuse me first.

HiMERU: Yes. I apologize for our Amagi.

Rinne: The hell you mean by that?

Kohaku: Do your best at work!

Yuuta: (Produce my hairstyle, huuuh?… Crazy:B’s changed, too. They weren’t that type of character when they first debuted.)

(…Guess the same goes for me. Back when I first debuted… No, even since when we’d perform on the streets, all I did was imitate Aniki.)

(I mean can anyone, honest to GOD, blame me from doing that. I am a healthy young man with needs after all. But...then again if we're talking about this girl, I'm sure everyone can understand what I'm going through and show me empathy rather than pity. I mean she has the assets given by God to draw attention and be showered with love. I'm living proof of that since I have a lot of her merch....for research purposes for my videos of course.)

(Lindsay, the girl that set the standards when it came to beauty. She had the body that most influencers and models nowadays could either only dreamed of having or get when they try turning themselves into life-sized Frankenstein Barbie Dolls.)

(Obviously with her body alone, she gathered a massive army of fans that gawked and howled at every action she did. Interesting enough, though it was her figure that drew them in at the start, but what made them stay and became loyal to her was her positive energy that radiated from her.)

(Her massive fanbase at the start just lusted for her, like any other model or porn-star, but something came out that made them more sincerely supportive the longer they watched her. In strong contrast of her body, she had a face of a saint that radiated such innocence and purity that brought bliss to everyone and her upbeat attitude illuminated such fun and child-like energy that it summoned the fanbase's inner protective nature to shield her from any harm.)

(When you think about it, it's truly amazing she could accomplish what she did and she definitely deserves to be called an Ultimate. She moved and lived in Japan most of her life and a occupation of a Gravure Idol should only be limited to that area, but she was able to branch out  to other countries and now has a loyal fanbase across the world. All her magazines, photos, and DVDs would fly off the shelves instantly and millions would be made in profit.)

(Though there was a time where I found it suspicious that she had so many different connections and that she had enough financial backing that allowed her to do so much that she did.)

(I remember in the past, there were a couple videos that I did that covered a lot of her sales and some suspicious intel behind them. But as soon as I tried uploading them, it would be instantly taken down for some bullshit reason. It wasn't just me but all other content creator and news sites had their content removed.)

(It looked like that any kind of criticism or negative outlook towards her would be immediately removed before reaching the masses. After finding the patterns, I became more invested and tried to dive deeper, so I had my sources look into her past to discover something new. But that didn't happen...)

(It wasn't like that there wasn't anything to find, but it was more like that I couldn't. My sources told me that any record of Lindsay's life before becoming famous, was either hidden or blocked off. The only things that I could go off of was her interviews and how she talked bits about her previous life on tv.)

(She said herself in those interviews that she looked nothing like she did now. In her words, she said that from her early childhood up until middle school, she was never seen in the beauty category, in fact she was someone that the majority would vote for having a face that would fade in the background. But she did have the ability to still draw in people due to her radiant personality. She was someone who didn't really care about how she looked, all she ever cared about was having fun with her BFF. But one day, due to some circumstances, she  needed to change herself so she could stay by her best friend's side.)

(When I heard this, I couldn't believe the story of a plain Jane transforming into a National level Beauty, some part of me thought that the PR team made that shit up so she could appear more relatable. Though due to who I am I had to take it as face value. But the one thing that intrigued me that could give me the answers that I was looking for would be looking into this so called "BFF" of hers.)

(When I went digging there wasn't much to find either, until I got a name. The name alone connected everything that was related to Lindsay and explained all the suspicious activities surrounding her career.)

(Her BFF was a fellow Ultimate on this island that holds a very high position in the World. I scrapped everything that had anything to do with her because going against her friend would mean that my personal, private, professional, financial, etc. life would be eviscerated with a snap of her fingers.)

(Just thinking her name sent such strong shivers down my spine that I need a chiropractor to fix my back for years to come. in the end, I hardly got anything from all the time I spent researching, but there was some good news that came from this. I at least know that Lindsay is the sexy/innocent soul that she appears to be.)

*innocent girl sees him being uncomfortable and started asking him about his interests and thoughts*

*both started to talk slowly, yet comfortably*

*after talking awhile, both felt happy and waved at each other goodbye*

(That was awesome! You're the FUCKING MANN!! I got close to someone like her and establish a good relationship. I wonder....Is this what it means to be popular?!...Man, Cody you truly grew up~)

(....Buutttt I was kinda surprised of what she was like in person. She is very upbeat and bright like she appears to be. But I honestly thought that she'd be someone more delicate and sophisticated given how well-kept her looks are...)

(...But I didn't know that she'd be such a massive Weeb.)

(This entire time we talked about all sorts of manga and anime that was currently and previously circulating  around that world and the impact the field holds now.)

(I wasn't someone that knew a lot about comics or graphic novels since I was only ever focused on gossip and my viewership, so I obviously didn't know shit about anything related to anime or manga.)

(But when I did, she started to recommended me stuff  like crazy and tried to entice to get more into it. She even started doing poses and screaming special moves from famous manga to give me a better experience.)

(It was totally weird, but seeing her be more tomboyish and having fun doing it, I became really invested.)

(Mmmmm, I wonder if I should include more stuff like this to increase my audience?)

(Well, whatever...I got a good thing going on with her and I'm sure we're gonna be good friends on the island. I mean, hell...she even gave me some nicknames too~)

(But I do wonder though...)

[BKDK] Izuku keeps mentioning a Kacchan to reporters and they think that's his gf

this was a request on twt that i had way too much fun writing. warning for suggestive language!

“And is there…. a special person….or a group of people you would like to thank on air today? Anyone who inspired you? Anyone you would attribute your success to? An image of victory per say?”

Izuku’s eyes glimmer as the bright lights of the studio reflect on his irises. “Oh!” He jumps in his seat, his perfectly- coiffed curls bouncing as he nods frantically to the show’s host. “Yes! Yes!” Leaning forward with his hands on his leg, the camera zooms in on his face where the blush is painting his cheeks. “I wouldn’t be the hero I am today if it wasn’t for Kacchan!”

And it’s as if an earthquake alert dropped on the talk show. The host grows this devious grin on his face as he turns to the camera team and says, “Well, well, well, behind every great man is a woman after all.”

Izuku isn’t quite sure why the host is bringing his mother into this since the interview is reaching its end and he has already discussed her influence in detail very early on, but he doesn’t get a chance to ponder.

The host, Yamaguchi-san, leans into Izuku’s space with renowned interest and an interesting glint in his eyes. Izuku feels himself sweating in his oversized maroon-striped suit.

“So, Midoriya-san, Hero Deku, Rising Symbol of Equity and Hope, can you tell us more about … Kacchan?” His voice goes higher at the last syllable, almost sing songs, and Izuku is not sure if he should be worried or not, but he won’t pass an opportunity to gush about Kacchan!

“Ah, Kacchan is very … confident, hardworking, strong, and smart. Kacchan is a hero who knows how to lead a team and perform under pressure, an inspiration to both myself and our entire graduating class, and a”—Izuku can feel the heat rise in his face as he tries to hide in his colour— “a shining star who was closer to me than All Might!”

The host makes a loud ‘AWWW’ noise at the same time as the small audience in the studio. “My, my! Sounds like Kacchan is very important to Hero Deku! Don’t be shy! Tell us more! Is there a physical description to go with your precious person?”

“Ahm!” Izuku fiddles with his fingers as he avoids the gazes on him. There a long beat of silence before he manages to say, “Muscles….Blonde…..Sharp eyes….” With a vague gesture to his middle section, he mumbles, barely audible, “Big, ugh…..” Heart.

“OOOOOOOOOH!” The host goes wild and so does the audience. “So are we talking Hiromi Oshima type big or maybe Rio Natsume, or aaaah Aki Hoshino even ….?”

Izuku feels his ears ring in humiliation as he tries to process what they’re talking about. Something Kacchan has in common with all these beautiful women is his big successful career so Izuku nods. “Yes!” Then, a thought occurs and he rises in his chair. “Even bigger!”

After all, Kacchan’s net worth is higher than these ladies.

“BIGGER?”

“The biggest!”

“Oh my god!” The host is losing his mind now! “And is it … natural? Or did Kacchan get a little help from professionals?”

“No, no, no! Kacchan was a natural ever since we were in school together!” Izuku’s eyes shine with a fire to defend his childhood best friend, no longer trying to hide in his big suit. “No one helped Kacchan get this big!”

“That’s … amazing!” The host shakes his head in both awe and disbelief. “Now we want to see Kacchan in action! When the hero works around the city, defeating villains, does the size get in the way?”

Does Kacchan’s fame get in the way of his work? “Sometimes,” Izuku muses, “But Kacchan never lets the restless and perky nuisances stop him, y’know. With a little shake from his hands, and a few colourful words of wisdoms, nothing gets in the way!” Izuku laughs as he remembers Kacchan’s way of dismissing fans and reporters alike.

“Wow!”

“Of course, there are times where Kacchan’s big firm moulds become springy and hard to control, but I have yet to see an instance where that has been a major issue. ”

Kacchan is still having some adjustment problems with his new hero costume, particularly his grenade mould, but that’s as far as distractions go.

“Does Kacchan not use support?”

“Uhm, only when it’s a dire situation! Sometimes I’m even allowed to provide assistance!”

“You must be very lucky…”

“I am! It feels … exciting and … very special! Kacchan doesn’t trust just anyone, y’know! I can never quite get used to the trust we built together. We are one unit working together.”

“Do you use your hands…. Or something else?”

“Oh, hands! Yes! But anything works really! Whatever Kacchan is comfortable with and needs at the time. Black Whip, combo moves, an iron grip...”

The host furrow his brows and seems to be considering Izuku’s answer before he opens his mouth again. “Uhm, never mind.” He then turns to the camera, smile back on. “Our time is almost running out! Thank you, hero Deku for your time! We look forward to seeing you again in the big screen!”

The next day, Izuku wakes up to the headline: Hero Deku And His Mysterious Busty New Girlfriend: The Beautiful and Spunky Kacchan!

He’s doomed

He sees Kacchan early the next day.

Having spent the morning talking to tabloids and the host show agents about the misunderstanding and whether or not it was possible to take down the episode at least, Izuku slumps his head on his desk in defeat.

Oh, this is very bad.

He starts thumping his forehead on the wood in sync with the bleeps noises in the phone, already planning his funeral in his head.

Okay, so it seems the suspense around this girlfriend is raking up his popularity, but god, at what cost.

“Nerd, we need to talk.”

Izuku’s soul near flies to the roof at the sound of the door to his office slamming close. Fuckfuckfuck.

Kacchan stands before him with his hand on his hip, teeth snarled and looking ready to tear his flesh open. Oh, this is going to be fun!

After flashing a haughty glare at the glass door to scare away the nosy friends hanging about, Kacchan continues, “About the interview.”

Of course! Yes! His final hour is approaching. “Haahahaha, what about it?” Izuku feels his undershirt cling to his torso, sweat collecting on his face. He directs a shaky hand to a nearby chair. “Feel free to take a seat, Kacchan! You want me to get you anything? Water, tissues, uhm, a knife, a body sized bag, or uhhh, a shovel? I think I have some spare sheets of paper if you’d like to give me a chance to—“

“So…” Kacchan starts.

“PLEASE TELL MY MUM I LOVE HER!”

“…this Kacchan, huh?” Having completely ignored every single word Izuku just said, Kacchan crosses his arms and scowls. “Is she strong? How come I never heard about her before? Since when did you start dating this gravure idol and pro hero, huh?”

“Wha—?”

“So, you just go around giving everyone pretty nicknames now?” Kacchan snorts and his expression darkens before he slams his hands on Izuku’s desk. He looks at Izuku from under his chin, and Izuku swear he can see flames behind his eyes. He growls, “What’s her actual name?”

An alarm bell rings in Izuku’s ears and he stutters, “Ka— Ka— Kat— Katsuko! Bakugan Katsuko…….”

Kacchan’s expression doesn’t change and Izuku feels his heart leap to his throat. God, Kacchan is gonna call his bluff at any minute now. He’s going to reject him then he’s going to break his heart and his bones.

“What’s she like?”

Kacchan shifts forward slightly and Izuku is just know noticing the ample cleavage in clear view. Right there. In front of Izuku’s face. “Uhm. Ah, she’s very, ugh, im- pec— impeccable!! And strong! Muscl— mature!! Breasty too – I mean, pretty! PRETTY!” Izuku bites his tongue then swallows thickly. “Beautiful, actually!” Lifting his gaze to meet Kacchan, he whispers, “Gorgeous. Just the most amazing person in my life.”

Kacchan is staring intently with his sharp red eyes, and Izuku feels his chest swell with confidence he never had before. “Kacchan is my inspiration, and I just … love … Kacchan so much. I wish I had the courage to tell him— um, her that.”

“Are you two serious?” Kacchan asks, impassive but there is silent rage hiding behind his words.

Something flashes quickly through Kacchan’s eyes before he narrows them. It takes Izuku a second to recognise that it’s /hurt/ and then he realise what he has just done.

“No, no, no!” Izuku backtracks immediately. “I don’t even know her that well! In fact, she kinda smells and definitely has sweating problem.” Izuku needs to do damage control and come clean NOW. “You know what? I will call her and break up with her right now. Ha ha ha.”

What the hell is he saying? Who is he going to call?

Kacchan stands up while Izuku fumbles with his phone. “Don’t be a dick,” he says, before he heads to the door.

Izuku jumps from his chair and is ready to chase after him when Kacchan stops him. “How big?”

“Huh?”

“You said Bakugan was big.”

Ah, yes, he did. Tragically.

“Um, y’know just…” Izuku motions with his hands like he’s moulding two doughballs, palms up and fingers wiggling because he’s lost control of his life once he accepted his funeral date, but that’s not even happening anymore so what is he doing really.

He then makes am hourglass shape in the air and belatedly realises that he’s just outlining Kacchan’s shape in front of him. Izuku retreats his hands and puts them behind his back in shame.

Kacchan is looking at him funny. Like he’s trying to figure something out.

“Does she shoot aerial bomb or something? Is that a combat-style quirk?”

Izuku blinks.

Kacchan just sneers and turns around.

“Whatever. I’m doing a photoshoot this afternoon. The Sekushī clothing line is dropping a new summer set and they asked me to model.”

“Se- Sekushi?? You mean, like—” Izuku feels his face go impossibly red. “You’re saying that, you’re going to wear, like…..” his voice goes down to a whisper when he says “…..a b-b-b-b-b-bikini?”

“Swimwear,” Kacchan turns to say over his shoulder, “Among other things.”

The sexy smirk he sends Izuku’s way is doing very, very weird things to Izuku’s body and imagination, things too inappropriate to describe in a work setting.

Kacchan leaves but not without offering the most dangerous challenge to Izuku’s mental wellbeing. “Feel free to drop in.”

Oh, he absolutely will.

“Bring Bakugon.”

Oh, he absolutely will not.

Actually….

Maybe, he will.

The member in charge of the Yuki Photobook is his partner who loves happiness more than anything, Momo (born on the 11th of November). He told us what happened during and after the shoot in his usual, casual manner.

Momo: That's right~! The year really flew by!

Yuki: It feels like Momo Photobook wrapped up production just yesterday.

Momo: Huh, does that mean you're gonna devote every day to me!?

Yuki: If that's what you want.

Momo: Darling, you're such a hunk..!

Momo: They say time feels faster the older you get, but I don't think I'd feel a thing if every day was devoted to Momo appreciation! (lol)

Momo: Huh!?

Yuki: I can't believe you secluded yourself alone with Ryunosuke-kun for an interview, Momo.

Momo: That's the kind of project this is, Yuki~!

Yuki: ...Do you think that's enough joking around to open with?

Momo: Ahaha! That's all, folks! ...I'm kidding, of course! We're not done! We're gonna do this properly from here on out!

Yuki: Yes, we are... Looking back on it, this year felt much shorter than it was.

Momo: Aren't you basically repeating what I just said!? (lol)

Yuki: Damn. My old age must be getting to me.

Momo: Ahaha! You're still in your 20's! ...Though I'm willing to bet you'll be just as handsome no matter how old you get!

Yuki: Thank you.

Momo: But if you're that worried, do you want me to give you Momo-chan's very special anti-aging course as a birthday present?

Yuki: What kind of course is it?

Momo: I tell you "Yuki, you're so cool!" and "Yuki, you're the best", while...

Yuki: While?

Momo: While we eat a full course anti-aging dinner made by you!

Yuki: Haha. So I'm the one making it.

Momo: My cooking's no match against yours! Besides, all the food you make is so healthy that it's gotta have some kind of anti-aging effect, right!?

Yuki: You just want to keep saying the word "anti-aging".

Momo: I like to use words I've just learned! What else was there... detoxing? Botoxing?

Yuki: Even if you've just learned them, they've already gone out of fashion.

Momo: No way..!

Yuki: Yes way.

Momo: I can't believe you're lecturing me on fashion..!

Yuki: Oh, that's the part that bothered you.

Momo: ...Wait! At this rate, we're gonna waste our time chit chatting, Yuki..!

Yuki: Hang in there, Mr. Interviwer.

Momo: You're just making me more nervous!

Yuki: But we're so used to doing interviews together. You're so weird.

Momo: I know! But this time we're not both being interviewed for our fans, it's a project starring you. I should be exposing your charms for all your fans to see..!

Yuki: Phew, I narrowly avoided having to finish this interview by myself.

Momo: But why did you copy me..?

Yuki: Basically, it was because reading what you said made me happy. Even if you did only say it to Ryunosuke-kun.

Momo: You could've worded that better, but I'm glad to hear it!

Yuki: You had Ryunosuke-kun all flustered.

Momo: It was a nice and innocent reaction..! This project has helped us see all kinds of cool and cute new sides to our juniors!

Yuki: Right. It's exactly the kind of project one could expect from someone as fixated on happiness as you.

Momo: But we both came up with this project!

Yuki: Yeah, I suppose. I'm glad it succeeded.

Momo: Yep, yep!

Yuki: We even managed to show a more mature side of ourselves, like we talked about. Though I couldn't really think we would while I was producing Iori-kun's book.

Momo: You were our first batter, after all! Were you feeling the pressure?

Yuki: I wasn't. It's not often you get to produce for a cute high school-aged junior of yours. It was fun. ...Though I was surprised that after everything I did to avoid nudity in Iori-kun's shoot, he just went and did that with Yamato-kun's shoot the next month.

Momo: Ahaha! That was a pretty revealing look!

Yuki: Can't hold it against a HS boy.

Momo: You just wanted to say "HS boy", didn't you!?

Yuki: Yeah. During our interview, Iori-kun told me he doesn't hear that term very often, but I still like the sound of it.

Momo: I know what you mean~. ........

Yuki: ...? What's wrong, Momo? You've gone all quiet.

Momo: I have to ask a question that I really don't like next... Sorry, I wasn't focusing on what you said...

Yuki: Ah, that question about the saddest thing that's happened to me in this line of work?

――About the impression left when we talked back then, Kaki-san really looks like a sociable type of person.

Kaki: Aah, I always get that a lot. Like "You're really sociable and mature" or "You're a reliable person" (lol)

―― But actually, you're an introvert person right?

Kaki: Yes! I'm a bit talkative person, but am really shy to others so I'm currently doing my best to hide that fact (HAHA)

――Oh, so you're hiding it.

Kaki: Yes! At school, the times where I, myself, started a conversation to other people are very few. I don't know how others see me, but I see myself as a person that puts a wall between me and them.

――But, the moment we started talking, I felt that you're easy to talk to.

Kaki: Really? They always tell me that I'm really matured at first but when they get close to me,  they say that everything I do is a bit stupid (lol)

――Is it like, you're crazy? Or insane? Or careless? Something Like that?

Kaki: My Homeroom Teacher's often like 「She look someone that can do everything so I thought I can leave things to her but, isn't she's careless here and there?」 and told it to my mother (lol). Even when I came to play with my friends, there are some things that I seriously think I'm doing properly but they say it's a childish part in me...

――So, how about within the 4th gen?

Kaki: There are many airheads within 4th gen so I think I'm on the mature side. Because others are like that, I felt that I should do my best and be mature!

――Are they really too much airheads for you to do that?

Kaki: Yes, they are! There are many members that's younger than me so, when they're having a hard time waking up in the morning, I should like do my best as an older sister!

――There are members older than you too right?

Kaki: Almost all members older than me unexpectedly also have their own older brothers/sisters and just act like a little sister. I think that because I have a younger brother and am the eldest sister of my family so this is what happened.

――I see. So, on the other hand, does your shyness comes out in front of the seniors or members older than you?

Kaki: That's right! When I look onto other members, I know that those with older siblings like to be spoiled or I know how to approach this/that member but, I can't initiate anything on my own.

――Even at school?

Kaki: Yes! I was in the basketball club during my middle school days but, I just wanted to say "I want to be like you, senior" even for just a bit but when the moment came, I find it very hard to start a conversation. It's like that I was just following a friend from the back wherever she goes(Bitter smile). That's why I'm doing my best right now because I think this is the right time to fix that part of me.

――So what particular part of youself are you giving your all now?

Kaki: The one I'm keeping on my mind the most is, to always give a big smile to show that I'm a good person (lol). I think that people who always smile leaves a "nice person" impression.

I feel like I should write something about Moeno’s announcement of retirement from the entertainment business. First of all it came as a surprise to me. In my opinion, she hasn’t hinted one way or another of wanting to quit. I’m not going to speculate the reasons behind her decision though. It’s her choice and I wish her the best of luck on whatever she has decided to do in the future.

What I want to point out though is the discussion revolving around Moeno’s sister. To those who don’t know about her, she is the founder of Colabo, which is a support center for young girls. There are two videos where she explains what she does in more detail: Yumeno Nito: "Helping high school girls escape Tokyo's sex industry" and Schoolgirls for Sale in Japan.

I’d want to share my thoughts on the topic that was raised in Stage48 (I write here because I’m not registered in the forum). I think what Moeno’s sister does is really important. A few days before Moeno made her announcement I happened to watch Stacey Dooley’s document about Japan’s attitude toward child pornography.

I’m not going into details, but one topic Dooley investigates in the document is about JK business. There are a couple of articles about JK (where Moeno’s sister is also being interviewed) in Japan Times worth reading: Notorious ‘JK’ business exploits troubled high school girls for sex and Tokyo exhibition focuses on plight of sexually exploited girls.

Since I’m not an expert I’m not going to explain the term or the business itself further. But what I want to talk about is how I’ve felt after watching the document. If you check my blog you will soon realize that Moeno is my oshi (lol). I’ve followed AKB for the past eight years but not very actively lately (I’m coming to this later). There’s been other smaller idol groups I’ve liked too but nothing in such big scale as I’ve liked AKB. I have gotten used to the fact that idols wear school uniforms and that being young and fresh is something to pursue. I’ve sort of gotten numb and it has been difficult for me to survey the whole JK thing objectively. (Regarding the part where school uniforms are used to make girls look younger and maintain a fantasy. Girls who are underage and work in JK cafes for example is something I disagree strongly about.) I have a vague memory of Mariko saying in a blog post or such that she feels embarrassed to wear a school uniform at her age (she being maybe 25-ish at the time). For some reason this popped in to my mind and I’ve been thinking about this.

One of the reasons I’ve lacked interest towards AKB is that my favorite members have graduated a long ago. The other thing is that I can’t bring myself to fully support/get interested in a member who is under the age of eighteen (and even that feels too young for me to be honest). I know idols who are in their 20s are considered old, have peaked their glory days and should graduate. This is probably the main reason I don’t follow “typical” idol groups anymore since there aren’t members for me to root for age-wise (this is why I like Chubbiness. They have body-positive concept and all the members are in their 20′s). It has felt weirder and weirder that for example someone who is in his/her 40′s feels comfortable to support and spend money on merch of a girl who is 16 years old or younger. 

The other thing I’ve been thinking about is the use of school uniforms in gravure and even in pure porn. This something I’ve started to feel uncomfortable with. On one hand I think it’s better to support the fantasy (with women who are adults) so the underage girls are being protected. But at the same time, I can’t help but keep thinking that school uniforms used in gravure/porn only feed the sexualization of underage girls and feed the fantasy itself.

I think this wasn’t supposed to be about Moeno from the start but about the discussion that has revolved around sister. I don’t like the speculations that Moeno’s sister has somehow pressured her to quit entertainment/being idol since there isn’t any sort of proof. And why her sister would tell Moeno to quit entertainment business when mostly what she has done after graduating is acting? She hasn’t done gravure and her SNS content has been fairly clean: food, clothes and make-up. I think people feel attacked when the idol industry as a whole is being criticized. I like the concept of idols and I’ve spent a fair amount of time in my life following them, but I also recognize the negative impacts of the business. I hope people would see past the one group or one member and see how idols can feed the JK business.

I’m open for discussion/comments but please keep it clean.

👤: [Your modesty is humbling. I recall that when you worked as a gravure model, you were so well-known and popular that everyone knew of Kunugi Akiomi when it came to models.]

Akiomi: Right. I suppose that is true, isn’t it?

My modeling days were smooth sailing, to where I had become such a naive and vain youngster who thought he could do anything.

This is not to sound self-deprecating or anything, but I was in quite the sorry state in many ways at the time.

Akiomi: That is what I’ve been told. Although over a decade has passed since then, most of those since then no longer work as models.

It’s a tough job to do long-term, much like the case with idols.

Both now and in the past, in this country one tends to find more popularity while they are young, and inevitably, one’s appearance changes as they age.

It’d be ideal if one could find a second career as an idol or an actor, but only a few become so fortunate.

👤: [I understand. As only a number of talented prodigies continue to shine brightly throughout their lifetime, the innumerable losers who fall remain unnoticed.]

Akiomi: Ahh… The incident that forced me to suspend my modeling activities for a while.

Tenn: Having you say that makes me happy. Although, to model western clothes coolly, I think it is hard as there is a technique in its own way. For this point, Nagi-san from IDOLiSH7 would, look like he is more proficient.

Riku: I think so too! Nagi might be more used to this since he has many modelling jobs! Actually for today I even asked him for advice!

Tenn: Is that so. What did he say (2)?

Though I've only been allowed to help with researching for the articles, I've really learned a lot. It's important to understand not just the perspective of someone being covered, but also that of the person covering them.

What motivated you to work with Famitsu App?

Someone I hang out with a lot is a Famitsu reader, so when they heard, they said that "of course you have to choose Famitsu!".

I trust them a lot, so I thought, "I guess I have no choice!"!

When you’re working at Famitsu App, what do you talk about with Ayumu-chan and Rina-chan?

I talk about work with Ayumu-chan a lot, I guess. And afterwards, I tell her about things like the latest popular apps. When I tell her about some interesting social apps, she smiles a lot when we're talking about trying to make friends using them.

With Rina-rii... oh yeah, I call her Rina-rii, but anyway, we manage to talk, with her using the Rina-chan Board. That thing has a lot of faces, so it's pretty amusing.

Oh, and I promised Rina-rii that we'd go shopping together. We're planning to hit up some cute shops and eat pancakes with tons of cream! Rina-rii is the type to want to be fed!

Do you have any thoughts on clothes?

My clothes? I guess I'd say they feel freeing? But I like them, and what's most important is that I wear what I want to wear!

Right, if you wanted to talk about fashion, you'd want to talk to Karin. She's pretty good at coordinating clothes, she knows some good stores, and she gets really excited about it. I actually bought the accessories I'm wearing from an online shop that Karin recommended~

When you're talking with people in a higher position, do you talk to them like you're doing right now?

Huh? I don't think so... Ahem, even I use keigo [TL: honorific speech] with my superiors, you know? On that note, has everyone had the chance to eat yet? [TL: she switches to a more formal tone here.]

...how was that? I got my manners from my grandma—when she said that I was being rude, I tried to be proper and polite! But when I messed up, she taught me how to phrase things correctly.

What do school idols mean to Ai-chan?

Why did you start being a school idol?

Well, I have this classmate who's a big fan of school idols, and they asked me, "The world of school idols is completely different from what you've seen before, I think. So do you want to take up the challenge?"

When someone says something like that to me, I'm the type to suddenly get really fired up about it.

Being honest, what's your appeal point as a school idol?

My appeal point would have to be... my knack for puns, maybe! Who else could tell these grate cheesy puns? Heh!

Of course, I want to get on stage as soon as I can! And I want to be on the biggest stage.

Since I started working to become a school idol, and this goes for helping out here as well, every day brings a view that I haven't seen before. Up until now, I've seen everyone being noisy and having fun, but it's kind of like—how do I put this—we're doing jiu-jitsu, I guess? [TL: yeah, I'm a little confused about the jiu-jitsu part too.]

So, standing in the center up on stage... on a huge stage, just what kind of landscape would you see from there? I really want to find out soon! Recently, I've been thinking about this every day before I fall asleep, but I think it has to be beyond my wildest dreams!

It was the first time I’ve ever been a cameraman for a gravure shoot!📷

The magazine has some of my gravure in it, but this basically means that I’m no longer an idol gravure prospect for the future, but rather a prospective idol cameraman who takes gravure photos. lol
