The Irish Beauty Show 2015

Hello all,

Or to anyone that actually reads this. This is my first Tumblr post and to anybody who has somehow stumbled onto my blog apologies I'm just getting into the swing of things. I figured that the best topic with which to start my blog with would be the Irish Beauty Show. My friend Joanne (my market researcher for the day) and I attended the beauty show on Sunday the 8th. I was so excited to go because I missed out last year and I'm such a huge fan of make -up that when I found out it was again this year, it felt like I was going to my Mecca. We got to the RDS and the queue at first looked very daunting but we got inside pretty quickly. When we got inside I won't lie I was disappointed. I felt the layout of the event made it feel more like a market and less like a 'Show'. The aisles between each of the stands were so narrow you immediately felt claustrophobic. There was very little freedom in terms of the direction you could move in. I definitely felt like Dory and Marlin in Finding Nemo when they're in the East Australian Current. Except my EAC was filled with badly drawn eyebrows not hippy turtles. I was super excited about visiting reputable brands such as Cocoa Brown, Benefit, Blank Canvass and HD brows all had stalls there. 

Cocoa Brown's stand wasn't cluttered and I felt the sales people were approachable but not forceful in the sales situation. I purchased the '1 Hour Tan Mousse' and an exfoliating glove. Exfoliating gloves are so important for my skin as I'm so pale that I don't exfoliate both before and after I run the risk of looking like a leper. Apologies to all lepers.

 Benefit Cosmetics' stand was a little disappointing in terms of appearance. The stand itself where the products were displayed was very small. However looking on the positive side, the girl who helped me chose my product, 'Porefessional'(I will be reviewing this product soon) was very helpful and I felt she represented the brand extremely well. 

The HD brows stand was packed unsurprisingly. Many women and men make the mistake of attending a Salon that claims to have have HD brows. The Salons usually use this as a short hand of High Definition, however there is a brand called HD brows and all the technicians that work for the brand are cHD brow qualified. I will post a picture of the HD brow symbol. Brows play such an important role in helping shape your face. I get my brows done with Kim O'Sullivan who is nothing short of amazing. She has transformed the shape of my brow and my face and I'm definitely en route to looking like Cara Delevigne. :D If anyone is thinking of getting their eyebrows done in the Dublin area I would definitely recommend Kim. She won the Image Business of Beauty award last year for Best Make-up Artist. This lady works wonders on brows. 

Next year I will definitely do more research into the brands that are showing to ensure they are of good quality. If anybody from the Irish Beauty Show organizing committee reads this I would definitely recommend more make - up and less nails.
