TOTK is a good game and it's got a good story to boot. But the thing is, that story doesn't connect very well to BOTW. It really does read like a sequel fic of someone who loved the source material but really wanted to gush about how awesome the Zonai were. I'm not a game dev or writer, so maybe this is just my inexperience showing, but with two delays, you'd think they'd have enough time to polish up the story.

#totk #totk discussion #i'm not saying it's not good #it's great!#but i'm annoyed that the story in BOTW was so well done and in TOTK they just sort of said 'yeah we got it don't worry'#and i also know that the story is not the main focus of the development team #yes it's trope-y #yes it feels anime-ish #what with the 'i'm totally the strongest' and 'they were like gods' kind of themes going on #that's fine #no less than what i normally expect from a Zelda game #what bugs me is the incomplete continuity #they act like the calamity didn't happen #and yet there's so much acknowledging that it did #like why?#this was fixable!#ugh

Sedated exam & vaccines for Emma

Exam & tooth check for Spoon

And a rat euthanasia/cremation, though that's not scheduled yet. But Sauce's tumor is the size of an egg now :/

why pay for a gym membership when you can go back to the countryside and move bags of concrete for FREE 😍

#my life at home is so glamorous btw #so the thing about my mum is that we have almost 2 acres of land and obviously the upkeep of that is INTENSE #but her attitude - justifiably - is 'if i can do it myself then why would i pay someone to do it?'#so me and my sister have gone our whole lives used to just helping with the chores #like that's not a big deal i really think it's a bit grim how a lot of teenagers just Dont Help with the chores #BUT my point is for me and my sister 'helping with chores' isnt just like. washing up and doing laundry lmao #like we have LAND and ANIMALS and there isn't exactly a man about the house that does all the heavy lifting #so it's my mum powered by sheer rage and stubborness telling me and my sister what to lift and where to put it #and that's just how it is like we move bricks and poles and fence panels etc etc the list goes on #literally a free work out and it's then so funny bc my friends know me to be quite lazy when it comes to activity #like i dont do any sports and i refuse to go gym with them and i like my little bed etc #BUT when put in a position where it's actually shown i will typically be stronger than my friends #including the ones paying extortionate amounts for gym memberships LMAO #like me and two of my mates did ninja warrior not long ago and one of them is a proper gym lad #and i left her in the DUST and she was acc a bit fuming about it? like it made her really insecure i was like how fucking offensive is that #like she was basically insecure bc 'how can i possibly be less fit than [my name] when she does fuck all' LMFAOOOO #i giggled #it's me and my sleeper countryside build against the corporations #BUT since coming uni it has slipped a bit bc ive gone from doing an hour of intense heavy lifting at least every? two days? ish?#to doing fuck all for weeks on end and then doing short bursts of it when i come home #so doing it today was a bit sad bc i cant lift nearly as much as i used to. like i can still lug 15kg dog food bags on my shoulder #like a little farmer boy but icl i was SWEATING today with that concrete when normally i'd do it pretty easy #so maybe i'll get more into my fitness again idk. like as lazy as i am working out does give you that little rush of endorphins #and the kind of workout i do as well gives me that very human satisfaction of simple manual labour #like truly satisfies ten generations of factory workers and farmers in my bloodline lmao they r smiling down on me #hella goes home

My nightmare scenario for Vol. 3 is *that* one crappy leak from a few months back ending up being completely true 😬😬😬 But I'm, trying very hard to stay hopeful that it won't be and I'm just worried for no reason (as I am known to be)

#lex thoughts #gotg thoughts #universe: mcu #i won't say what exactly the leak entailed bc i don't want to spoil anyone and i don't recommend finding it (it's bad)#but the new trailer starting off with Peter clearly drinking heavily immediately made me go OH NO!!!#i got scared. i'm still scared bc what if the leak was true and ougugghghhghghghhhghhg #anyways im conflicted on the new trailer but im still leaning positive just uh cautious #i'm in a weird space between fearing the worst for everyone on the team and then being like all this foreshadowing is too obvious #-nothing is going to happen to them but ACK! I DONT KNOW !!#I worry the most about Peter and Gamora for different reasons... I'm being swayed that everyone else will end up. fine-ish #i will say that i luv Nebula's new arm that can turn into a flame sword that's so anime #lesbians with sword arms really are the future of the gotg #also i'm not a fan of how dusty and dreary the locations so far have been (i'm hoping we'll see more vol 2 esque locations at some point)#but i DO enjoy how things have been shot and framed so far... the visuals ARE nice. just dusty. i like the consistent uses of red as well

ok i absolutely Have to buy the official version for this manhua manhwa because the amount of Insane cronchy tropes has me feeling some kind of way

what if we had the lady and their lionheart knight trope but it's baked into the royal social structure and has toxic magical brainwashing as its foundation

what if we had (1) princess who didn't want to do that and actually refused to select a personal knight for years

what if there was (1) knight for that princess that became her personal lionheart knight that was also narratively expected to overthrow the royal monarchy

because the knights are magical homuculus humans, at any kind of balls or parties they are Required to wear gauzy black blindfolds to set them apart while in fancy dress

#like. im Eating all of this!!! it plays the tropes straight while also like. Twisting them in very interesting romance story ways #and also it makes sense for the princess to BE OBLIVIOUS to her knight's feelings because she doesn't know if it's the magical loyalty oath #making him feel that (and it's like. not)#all of it is nuts and also swings between 'oh this is fun!!' and 'oh that's a bad powerplay by other royalty' who are trying to like #decrease the princess's standing by insulting/sabotaging her knight it's good!!!!!#qserasera storytime #i kind of lost it at the illustrated ball scenes with the blindfolds because like. wow....the artist sure does know what makes for like #doki doki scenes that also has readers going EYES EMOJIS....i think it's like a very tame-ish?? kinda pg16 type of feeling so far #unfortunately the topic matters do go like....realistically dark in exploring the issues of personhood and consent with a messed up magic #power dynamic (except mostly for our heroine) so it's unlikely to get an anime adaptation of some kind #but also i was skimming thru this while Yelling almost every other chapter

Anyone else get FOMO when shopping? Especially when you're looking to buy an item that is kinda hard to find, and also at a good price? Anytime I find an item that looks legit and is being sold at a decent price I can't help but feel I HAvE to buy it asap bc who knows when a deal that good will come up again, y'know?

#genie was the absolute love of my life and i miss having a bird so so much #but i was younger and a lil less crippled when i had him than i am now #but idk #theres a rescue just a few towns over that always has birds who need homes #and im one of the very few people who actually has the know how and resources to care for a parrot #and i just miss having a bird man #Like i know pigeons and chickens are an option but a. i cant go outside very often and do not have the space for multiple birds inside #b. theyre just different animals #the extreme intelligence and personality of parrots is what I like about them and i dont mind screaming #ive got headphones and a long tolerance built up against it due to having a bird who #due to the six ish homes he had before me #screamed about five hours a day no matter what we tried to get him to not do that #like genie had some quirks but he was still an amazing bird #entries

Worried that my health stuff might be acting up again augh

#PLEASE I don’t want another several weeks of this #I’m feeling super low energy and brain foggy and generally shitty #which makes me anxious because that’s usually how it starts when my symptoms start getting worse again #I’m crossing my fingers that this is just because I’m on my cycle or because I ate fast food today #for the first time in a while #and that it’s not the same health stuff I had going on for the last couple months #but I’m worried #we never figured out what was going on with me and it went away after a couple months #and I’ve been way better lately but the past week or so I’ve been feeling gradually worse and have been really low energy #I do have an appointment on Monday I think to redo some blood tests and stuff #but the first two times they ran those tests they didn’t find anything wrong even though my symptoms were awful #so if it is coming back I kinda doubt that this time will reveal anything #but maybe this will convince them to do other tests or refer me to a specialist or something #At least I’m taking fewer classes this term #so I won’t have quite as much stuff to balance #but money is tight because of how much work I missed last term so I can’t afford to miss a lot more #and I’m supposed to start volunteering at an animal shelter in a couple weeks which I’m really looking forward to #and I’ve been planning to get a dog soon-ish #and I would hate hate hate to have to postpone any of that stuff even more #and I just. can’t keep dealing with this. I hate being sick I hate not being able to do things I’m tired of it #I’m trying not to spiral or worry too much because anxiety definitely makes me feel worse lol #and this could be nothing it could be unrelated to whatever health issues I was having earlier #but it makes me nervous #the being of chaos speaks
