Tsukishima Kei: Dog Damn
Fandom: Haikyuu!! — [ Masterlist ]
Summary: ~1.8k, fluff
• Tsukishima and his canine give a whole new meaning to how dogs take after their owners.
Warnings: Timeskip spoilers, 2 curses
>>>>——————————>
There's that saying of how dogs take after their owners, it was one Tsukishima would always scoff at. Even when he found this yappy puppy alone in the rain for the second day in a row with only a cardboard box labelled 'Please Adopt Me' and reluctantly gave in.
That's how that dumb saying came to light, the fluffy thing growled and yapped at his older brother when he became annoying. When his Karasuno teammates heard about the adoption they wanted to meet the fellow, only for him to be particularly vocal around Hinata and Kageyama. Yamaguchi was probably one of the few the pup actually liked.
This enigma continued through to the Sendai Frogs, now bigger and older, his faithful companion reflected his feelings to individuals. Much like Tsukishima, the Shikoku grew to like individuals with time much like his owner, but there's always a fun exception.
It came with a bark, one that was louder that most Keis' dog would express during their evening walk, and to his surprise it was directed toward you.
You who was merely writing the signage for the day outside of your coffee shop. Still you didn't seem startled, while crouching you attempted to beckon the offender over but he merely growled in reply. His master seemed to laugh however, pulling down his headphones with a smirk.
"Nice try, it won't work though."
"Is that a challenge?" You stood to meet the smug smirking blonde, the dog a little more settled as his master conversed.
"He's stubborn."
"Ah a hunting breed. What's his name?" Came your observation, tilting your head at the canine which only snorted in reply.
"Rekkusu."
You paused for a moment, no doubt the man in question had intended for the delivery to be cool, but the ongoing silence made him shift uncomfortably with brows furrowing.
"As in Tyrannosaurus Rex?" You'd expectantly noted, crossing your arms with a bemused expression.
"Yeah, and what about it?" Tsukishima shot back, a mild glare in place but you only dismissed his attitude with a smile.
"It's cool, suits the little guy."
"Little guy? I suppose your lack of perception means your customers get better value for money."
"Why do you think we're so popular? See you around Rekkusu-chan and owner!" With a smirk you waved politely, before entering the coffee shop.
The ‘All Dogs Welcome’ sign framed prominently in the window.
———
Now that you'd spoken, you noticed him nearly everyday, he followed the same route in the mornings and evenings with Rekkusu in tow. This morning you awaited his passing, racing out to stop him in his tracks with a greeting bark from the dog which left you glaring.
"Back for more?"
"I come baring gifts this time." Came your proud tone, placing a Puppuccino before the dog who arrogantly waited for you step back at least 4 paces prior to sniffing it much to the owners’ amusement.
"Wow, he really doesn't like you."
"Yet. He doesn't like me yet." You replied with renewed determination.
“I’m Tsukishima Kei, and I should probably know the name of the person trying so hard to win over my dog…”
“(L/n) (Y/n). Have a nice walk guys.” A soft smile graced your lips upon noticing Rekkusu eating the treat, a small victory you’d claim (though you hoped the blonde hadn’t noticed your fist pump when walking inside).
It was only when you returned from your break that afternoon did your happy mood get disgruntled, by yen sitting on the counter no less.
"Tips? What kind of arrog—"
"No not a tip! Some smug tall guy said it was payment." Yui quickly rushed to calm you with hands defensively waving in panic.
Only a brief second passed, looking to Yui with a deadpan gaze.
"Blonde?"
She nodded.
"Big dog?"
"Uh-huh." Yui curiously responded.
"Glasses?"
A hum of agreement.
"Dickhead."
"Yes! That's him!"
"No I mean, he's not a dickhead. He just didn't have to pay, I'm trying to win over his dog..."
"(L/n)-san, what?" Her previous excitement dwindled, her cause for concern now persisting.
"Nothing, nothing. Guess he's a kind person, but that doesn't mean the challenge ends here."
———
Much to Tsukishimas’ disinterest, it didn’t end. Despite the man only nodding in acknowledgement and diverting his gaze, you made a point to wave whenever you saw him. If you had the time you’d also come to greet Rekkusu who remained as hostile as ever - though you only need take two steps back for him to devour his treats now.
You even caught Tsukishima on one of his training runs, when he’d stopped to check his statistics you’d handed him a bottle of water without a word, just a knowing smile.
Then came a time you were actually on a break during one of your evening shifts, you were outside with a hot drink enjoying the autumn breeze when he’d awkwardly stood at your table. Rekkusu alerted you to their presence instantly, a solid bark in play but his masters’ demeanour was what perplexed you most.
“Would you mind if I joined you? I was going to get a coffee anyway…”
“Sure Tsukishima, do you want me to watch Rekkusu whilst you grab one?” Even if your request was a whimsical one, you were both offended and amused by the growl you received.
“He’s still y’know, stubborn.”
Nevertheless, the blonde rejoined your table with a coffee and pastry in hand - one he slid over to you.
“Uh, your colleagues said you liked this one. Dunno how you work with them though, they sure squeal a lot.”
“Huh they do? Well either way, I can’t accept this bu—“
“You told them not to let me pay for his treats anymore, but I owe you for them. You don’t have the option to refuse right now.” Kei had said it so bluntly that you couldn’t even argue, meekly accepting with another thanks.
You’d actually conversed with him then. You’d found out he was on the Sendai Frogs volleyball team and worked at the museum in the city. In exchange he’d learned about you and your coffee shop, and of course that he’d adopted Rekkusu during his third year of high school at Karasuno. By the end of your break, you felt closer in a way.
Rekkusu didn’t bark at you when they left.
———
From then it seemed whenever you’d seen the pair, Rekkusus’ barks seemed friendlier and his tail wagged upon seeing you. Occasionally he’d pull Tsukishima toward you as you knelt to offer a signature Puppiccino.
“I hate this.”
“I have successfully used the power of Pavlov~”
“It’s called bribery.” Tsuki mockingly interjected.
“Either way, I’m still winning this challenge.”
“Your self-issued challenge. This has nothing to do with me.”
“Luckily your approval doesn’t matter to me, only Rekkusus, isn’t that right boy?” Came your melodious tone, the canine barking excitedly.
“Traitor.” It was muttered begrudgingly, but you continued conversation regardless.
“Good luck with your new exhibition today, if you can please take a picture of it and show me!”
“Instead of making me come back here, would I be able to send it to you by phone?”
“My contact details?” The surprise was obvious, but Kei remained blunt and composed with his usual bit of sarcasm.
“Ideally yeah. Here’s mine.”
Yet, you’d spoken often enough to know about his workplace and vice versa, so you suppose this was the natural next step in friendship.
———
Tsukishima wouldn’t normally bring anyone along to your café but he’d reached a crossroads, a block that he couldn’t surpass without an old teammate it seemed.
“So… why are we here?”
“Because it allows dogs.” Tsukishima breathed, way too nonchalant for even him, which only left Yamaguchi asking further questions.
“Yes, but we’ve always gone for walks.”
“I just need you to see something…” The blonde seethed, holding the door open for his partner to enter.
“Ah hey Tsukishima, Rekkusu~” A gentle pat was given to the fluffy boy with a wagging tail, and only then did he happily whine at you.
“Hi (L/n), this is Yamaguchi. A friend from elementary school.”
The freckled man only waved at you with a bright smile, Tsukishima gave their order and the trio went to be seated.
“Nice to meet a friend of Tsuki.”
“…Tsuki?”
Tsukishima waited until you’d left, then turning his attention to his friend who understood the bewilderment. “So?”
“Rekkusu!” Tsukishima waited expectantly for Yamaguchi to finish. “They pet him… And he didn’t mind!”
“I know.”
“That’s really weird, have you known them long?” The shy man considered carefully, Tsuki flicking from Rekkusu to answer honestly.
“A month or more, I see them nearly everyday in passing but we’ve only spoken properly a few times.”
“Ah… Tsuki do you li—“
“No.”
“Right.” Yamaguchi radiated nonchalance, to the point Kei doubted his own denial, but his friend only looked to the pleased dog as if he portrayed Tsukishimas’ feelings better than the namesake.
“I have (L/n)s’ contact, maybe it’d be worth bringing them to the museum at some point?”
“Maybe, would a walk with Rekkusu be too committing?” Yamaguchi taunted.
“Shut up!”
———
Now you’d never have considered the museum to be daunting but when Tsukishima asked you to meet him here you accepted, currently queuing up for tickets.
“What are you doing (L/n)?”
“Uh- tickets? To get in?”
“Idiot, I work here and you’re my—“ He paused, fingers to the bridge of his nose. “You’re my guest, you can come in with me.”
With a flick of his ID, the two of you were allowed entry, you spent a majority of the day at the museum - Tsukishima particularly enthused when you’d reached the dinosaur exhibits and seemed to be an expert. Must be his specialty.
Another day you’d grabbed takeout coffee from your café and walked Rekkusu through the nearby park.
“Y’know, even though he’s quite standoffish, he’s a really good dog.”
“Yeah, I thought he’d mellow as he aged but he defied my expectations.” Kei admiringly answered, the two of you watching him catch his frisbee midair.
“Hm, Yamaguchi met him as a puppy right? And he’s known you for a while, is that why he calls you Tsuki?”
“Only he’s allowed to call me that.”
“I figured, you might as well call me (Y/n), that’s what my friends tend to do.” Even if you shrugged casually, you still noted the brief flush of colour tinting the blondes ears.
“You can call me Kei then. Fairs fair.”
“Kei huh? I’m honoured.”
“Shut up (Y/n).”
———
Now with these frequent outings to here, there, and everywhere, it came as no surprise when it turned into dating somewhere along the line. Once more, your coworkers squealed at the news - now you knew what Kei was talking about…
Nonetheless, even though it had taken quite a lot of time, Rekkusu had warmed to you as well. This time when Tsukishima and Yamaguchi were out walking his dog, the two weren’t shocked when Rekkusu barked and bounded up to your approaching figure. Basically tackling you the grassy ground as you went to greet him in return.
“He really loves (Y/n), doesn’t he?” Kei has spoken absentmindedly whilst overlooking the scene, a soft smile upon his features.
Yamaguchi stared also, flicking from you and Rekkusu to his best friend in quiet understanding.
“Well, they say Tsuki…” A knowing smile. “That dogs take after their owners.”
“I guess, this one time, they’re right.”

Was Doug TenNapel's Gear inspired by Evangelion?
DISCLAIMER: This will probably contain spoilers for both of the above-mentioned series.
A while back, I read Doug TenNapel's Graphic Novel "Gear," his first big comic story that started his career as a "comic-er" as he once put it.
Gear tells the story of four cats in a world at war with cats, dogs, and insects. All of which have access to giant robots called "Guardians" and the fabled "forbidden mechanism" that has the power to turn the tables for whoever uses it.
It's an interesting story, one with some aspects that feel strangely familiar. More specifically, it made me think of a certain 90s mech anime... Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Now, before I say anything else, let me just say that I don't know if Doug TenNapel ever watched NGE or not, but there are at least a few similarities that seem almost too close to be a coincidence, which I'm going to point out here.
1. Timing.
According to Doug in the bonus material section of Gear's 20th anniversary edition release, He started writing Gear in 1997, the first issue of Gear was published by Fireman press on November 1998 and the last issue came out in April 1999.
NGE Started airring in Japan in 1995 with the last episode airring on March 27, 1996.
AD Vision A.K.A. ADV Films Dubbed the series in English in 1996 to 1998.
This means Doug TenNapel could've seen the show prior to or maybe even during writing Gear.
2. Weapons of War.
In NGE, the Eva pilots mainly have two weapons at their disposal, guns, and a plasma powered knife called the "Progressive Knife" or "Prog Knife."
In Gear, they are quite a few guns. including ones built into at least some of the guardians, and while there aren't any plasma powered knives that resemble giant carpet knives, We do see Gordon, one of the main four cats carry around a knife that becomes an important part of the story towards the end, however in the original Fireman press version of the comic, we see him use his knife to take out a few unsuspecting dog troops during the blood rage scene. also, while the guns shoot lasers in the 20th anniversary edition, in the original they fire bullets.
3. Angels of Lore.
In NGE, The world is under attack by giant powerful mysterious creatures referred to as "Angels."
Gear doesn't have such beings in its story however, the title character, a somewhat bumbling robot at one point refers to Heaven as "his home" which sounds odd until you look at the temple catacombs, which contain a hieroglyphic depicting the origins of the forbidden mechanism, revealing that it was forged from the remains of an angel that fell to earth after being defeated by a demon.
This implies that Gear isn't just a robot, but a robot with the soul of an angel.
4. Familiar Smells.
At one point in NGE, the main character, Shinji, notices that the smell of Eva Unit 01's cockpit reminds him of his mother.
In Gear, after Waffle undergoes "Geno Mutation" and turns into a guardian, Gordon notes that the guardian is not only the same color as Waffle but also smells like him.
5. Soul in the Shell.
Near the end of NGE, It's revealed (kind of) that Units 01 and 02 absorbed the souls of Shinji's mother and Asuka's mother, and their souls reside inside their Evas.
In Gear, during what seems like a miracle, Gear uses his power to the souls of Waffle and an insect named Chee into their guardian bodies to aid in the final battle.
6. The Mastermind.
In NGE, Shinji's father Gendo has an ulterior motive of bringing about the "The Human Instrumentality Project" in an attempt to reunite with his deceased wife Yui.
In Gear, Emperor Pago wants the forbidden mechanism to power up his guardian and conquer the world.
7. Blood in the Machine.
In NGE, The Evas are humanoid and are able to bleed.
In Gear, we see Waffle's bleed as he is crushed by Pago's guardian,
and we see Pago's guardian also bleed when Gear stabs himself to stop him.
8. Finding God.
NGE has many references to the Bible, Christianity, and Catholicism. From the aforementioned angles to the names of said angels (that apparently aren't mentioned in the actual show for some reason), to symbolic crosses seen throughout the series.
Gear is a bit more subtle with it's references to Christianity and the Bible, namely a panel consisting of the character Simon giving an account of Heaven, the implication of Gear having the soul of an angel as mentioned earlier, and Pago quoting Goliath during the final battle.
One thing I will point out is that technically Doug first started referencing Christianity in his work with The Neverhood, a PC point-and-click adventure game that released (ironically) in 1996.
If Doug did see Evangelion, maybe it inspired him to reference his faith in his stories. After all, if a weird Japanese mech anime could do it, why couldn't he?
That's all the similarities I noticed. Was Doug inspired by Evangelion? I don't know, but it's interesting to think about.

I saw a theory about Mr. Kim being Kousuke's real father. Makes me want to throw up. And then I saw another comment on that thread how the real thing that would break Kou is realizing that Nol is no longer his brother.
And omg ew? Sang Chul would be??
And I'm never getting over Nol's plastered smile. The sneer. The humans suck line.
The "Convince Me" line.
Girl I'm going thru it.
You totally called it on the theories.
The WORST kind of "OH GOD I KNEW IT" weeks have been happening for me when it comes to ILY lmaoooo and I NEED QUIMCHEE TO GIVE ME A BREAK AND LET ME CATCH MY BREATH!!!!!!!!!!!
Gonna drop my thoughts below the read more! Spoilers spoilers spoilers!!!!!!!!!!
When Elle and I talked about the "Rand isn't Kousuke's father" theory on the fourth episode of our podcast I even talked about how as much as I don't want the theory to be true for Kousuke's sake, narratively it's SO compelling and it just makes SO MUCH SENSE. I remember the first time I read the theory, too, how initially I was like "no way, this feels really out there" but it just stuck with me. I couldn't let it go, I kept going back to that panel, the "you're the sole heir" speech bubble over Nol's face and I think I've just always felt that it meant something, you know? That quimchee would NOT have done that if it didn't mean something, if we weren't supposed to read into it, if it wasn't meant to be the earliest of foreshadowing of this theory.
And to have it actually confirmed!!!!! Just has me SCREAMING but absolutely anticipating what it means for everyone!!!! Because not only does it mean everything Kousuke has ever worked for - the only thing he's ever had to his name, the only career option he's ever had - is taken away from him and thrust to someone who may not even want it, someone who wants to be as far away from this family and this coldblooded, bloodthirsty rivalry as he can get.
Neither of them get any reprieve.
Kousuke never had any other option, and is left with nothing.
Nol will likely be thrust into the heart of everything he wants to excuse himself from, everything he's come to resent and loathe and GOD it's insane to see how it's all unfolding, after all this time!!!!!!!!
I think, too, in thinking about the fact that Nol isn't even Kousuke's brother is that it means re-examining the rawness of 212 and what it means for Kousuke, who believes that he got none of the good traits of Rand that he sees in Nol, the good parts that he's never been privileged enough to see in Rand himself, and that he was left with only the worst parts of him - the cold man with his back turned to him. But it's worse, because none of that was his.
(Please know that I am saying this SO VERY LOOSELY, in the sense of how I imagine Kousuke is thinking this. I'm not a fan of the "Rand suspected Kousuke wasn't his son and that's why he was so cold with him" theories. Frankly, I think they're disgusting and it shows an interesting bias in people in how they perceive biological family to be more worthy over, say, adopted family. I think it's very evident that Rand loves both of his sons and has done the best within his means, but has been dealing with an incredibly controlling tyrant of a wife who has ensured that he had little chance to provide the nurturing he wanted to, who ensured that there was a gap between him and Kousuke so that Kousuke would be forever chasing after him, because she needed him to stay focused on her goal. I refuse to humor conversation that implies Rand loves or favors Nol more because that's his biological son and because Kousuke is, currently suspected to be, the son of a Kim, he has less love for him. That's a disgusting mindset. Biological love does not make someone inherently love their child more. Yui herself proves this. And in that same vein, not being Kousuke's biological father does not excuse Rand's part in Kousuke's neglect and that it was the commodification of his love that has factored into how Kousuke has come to view love in this transactional manner and why he struggles to see his father's true love for what it is. Regardless of whose genetic material fathered him, Rand is the man who raised Kousuke as his son, the man Kousuke saw as his father, and therefore he is Kousuke's father.)
Kousuke has modeled himself after his father in every way, tried so hard to emulate him, to be someone who will make his father proud, who can earn his affection and feels like he hasn't succeeded at that yet - and to find out that the man he has spent his entire life emulating is not, in fact, his father? Is going to CRUSH him. Not because it changes the fact that it was Rand who raised him and Rand to whom Kousuke looked up, but because it's yet another lie in a series of Yui's lies, yet another lie that she has used to manipulate him, to mold him into her pawn, to create him into a likeness of something of her own desire, rather than ever allow him to be his own person.
She lied to him about his father. She whispered paranoia to him about his brother his brother's mother. She made him believe that everyone is out to get them, to tear them down, that because they are better than everyone else he can trust no one. She used these tactics to isolate him and played upon the paranoia and fear that she created and instilled upon him so that when he did rebel and stray from her, when he did try to be his own person and have friends and a life of his own, she could pull him back to where she felt he belonged, at her side. She smothered and suffocated him and manipulated and lied to him and nothing she has done to or for him has ever been honest and even his father is a lie. Even his goals and motivation is a lie.
I know a lot of people still hate Kousuke but it fucks me up. It has me choked up, to think of what it must be like to be him, and to have this bombshell thrust upon you, that everything you believed has been a lie, that your mother has been manipulating you for your whole life, she's been drugging you, you have finally grasped the gravity of the harm you have caused using the justification she has equipped you with. To come to the realization that everything you ever justified was never truly justifiable, that you caused harm that cannot be undone.
How do you come back from that?
How do you deal with that?
And then, to find out that the man you've believed was your father isn't. That the only person who ever offered you unconditional love, whose relationship you've destroyed isn't even your brother, and has no reason to ever turn to look your way ever again.
Kousuke was right. He has no brother.
And it devastates me lmao ;____________;
And I do really think that it means his father is Gun Kim. All of the comparisons to Sangchul and Kousuke have haunted me as much as this theory.
BUT MAN IT'S JUST SO MUCH QUIMCHEE IS JUST OUT HERE WITH A BODY COUNT. MA'AM. SLOW DOWN I CAN'T KEEP UP. Nol is on a warpath and I need him to CHILL.
Actually no you know what was the FUNNIEST thing to me about Nol and his humans suck line? THE FACT THAT MY GIRL SHINAE IS OUT HERE BLUSHING.
GIRL. /GIRL/
She is DOWN BAD. SO FUCKING BAD. LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i can't stand her I love her she's a whole hot mess express I really need to gather myself and drop some thought dump posts over here finally because generally my reaction to all of these episodes lately has been [SCREAMING CAT]
i'm two for two on "dark theories i didn't want to be true but knew in my gut are" and listen. I DON'T KNOW IF I LIKE IT ;_______; HOWLING
#I Love Yoo#ILY Brainrot#ILY Ask#ILY FP#ILY Spoiler#Kousuke Hirahara#Nolan Oliver T. Lochlainn#GOD i am GOING THROUGH IT too#we are together in spirit friend#just howling a lot#screaming a lot#QUIMBERLY ANNE CHEE#!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#everything happens so much#also lmao real talk this is why i really really REALLY wanted to do the theories episodes of the podcast when we did#i just felt in my BONES we had to get our takes on theories out there#i wanted it on the record lmao#you should have seen the discord when we basically got the confirmation that Shinae was at the formal for Gun Kim UGH#/UGH/#howling i still haven't recovered from that#quimchee is on a ROLL

Hello! I was just wondering about something and I don't really know where else to ask this... anyways. I've seen somewhere that apparently in the manga, the reason why the Diaboys drink blood in the first place is because they ate a fruit that tastes like blood and feels like a beating heart, and that it was all part of Karlheinz' plan?
But what also kind of confused me is that in relation to this, apparently when they were young Laito told Kanato that "it isn't true that vampires drink blood" and the only reason why the Diaboys do is that they ate that fruit... or something...? And also what is the point of them being vampires if it turned out that vampires dont drink blood in the first place? What do they consume then?
ANYWAYS I really just wanted to ask how much of ALL of what I am saying right now is true? Cuz I'm really curious... I'm so sorry that this got too long!!
// Oh, no, that's not correct. Ayato is the only Diaboy who ate the fig. Young vampires only begin drinking blood when they are ready to do that. Reiji's CL route revealed that vampires absolutely require blood to survive. They must start drinking it from an early age, otherwise they will perish.
Going back to the fig, lemme explain Karl’s plan: Basically, Ayato is presented in the first YB chapter as being the closest to obtaining the fig, but he was unable to do so without becoming crazy. Karlheinz went back in time and added all of his children in order to locate an Adam, but he knew Ayato would be the one to become him, as seen in the second chapter when he touches his cheek. Karlheinz knows everything, he knew his brothers were going to abandon him with the ghouls, and if they hadn't, he wouldn't have found the fig so quickly, without turning insane.
There is, however, a distinction between Adam’s curse and Adam awakening. His brothers began awakening as Adam after consuming a lot of Yui's high quality blood, which is why they became so addicted to it in MB. Ayato, on the other hand, experienced the worst symptoms, to the point that he couldn't control his thirst at all, and he is the only one of his brothers who falls into a coma as a result of it. That is both Adam's curse AND Adam's awakening.
I'm not the best at describing things, but I'll try to clear up how DL works. In Kino's CL, we learn that if Karl's plan fails (resulting in a Bad ending), time is rewinded.
Ayato good ending= Ideal and most logical outcome of the story
Ayato bad/manservant ending= Either Adam or Eve fails, therefore time gets rewinded
If time is rewinded, Yui must choose another Adam, whether or not he ate the fig. If Yui and *inserts Diaboy name* receive the Good ending, they will be able to live happily ever after; however, if they receive the Manservant or Bad one, time will be rewinded and she will have to choose another Diaboy.
I should also clarify that she can still fall in love with Ayato no matter how many times Karl rewinds time. It is shown in CL how Karl grows tired of rewinding it so many times because Yui and Ayato continue to fall in love with each other yet still manage to fail. As a result, I'm pretty sure Karlheinz manipulates time so that Yui can't fall for Ayato or vice versa, in order to put new possible Adams to the test.
Also, time rewinding only applies when Karlheinz is alive. After his death, time doesn’t get rewinded in the bad endings anymore.

Re: third palace ruler. i personally think it might arise because the ruler is being blackmailed/forced to be a Phantom (maybe?) to prevent tragedy (maybe from reaching ppl she cares about) but also something i feel like might happen - the perception of the self is not affected, but rather, it's the perception of the world around them that has corrupted into the dam. (also - theories re: ruler's second set of portraits?)
Yeah, that's a fair point! That's sort of along the lines of what I was thinking in this post when I suggested "dams can also hold back a sort of impending disaster [...] It could be that the Palace ruler sees themselves as the only thing preventing some “flood”/disaster like that?", although you bringing up that Palaces don't inherently have a warped perception of self involved in them definitely adds to that, and the Phantom aspect seems to fit right into all this. Assuming it is a dam, that might be my top guess for her Palace theme right now.
I'm not totally sure if I'm thinking of the right thing you're referring to with "ruler's second set of portraits", but I'll put what I think you might be asking about under a cut, since it'd reveal who the Palace ruler is, and I'm not tagging this post as spoilers, heh.
I think you're asking about either the Cyler Eats portrait, or the character who looks a lot like Katayama but has a different name? Probably the second one, but I kind of wanted to talk about Cyler Eats in relation to this theory too, heh.
For the former, I think Cyler Eats would directly connect to your theory that she might be being forced to be a Phantom, given Cyler Eats hasn't attacked anyone since the start of the game despite appearing in two other cutscenes now (one as Wonder and Cattle leave Ashouken, and then the one with Polter). It'd actually explain her behavior more than basically any reasonable alternative I can think of! Granted, Palace rulers do usually have a nice facade that the public knows them for, so it's possible Katayama's just hiding some nastiness (and I'm sure we'll see at least a bit of that in her Palace regardless), but her having a distortion related to being blackmailed into acting as a Phantom would explain why she hasn't taken any other opportunity to be violent since then.
For the latter, those portraits might be a relative of hers, or maybe (depending on how weird "time and space" gets) like a younger version of her, or something? Yui's real world self does at least prove that sometimes even the same character's files won't be named the same, though I'm not sure how far that extends, given Yui seems to be an exception due to being a video game avatar. But I could potentially imagine the case of time/universe travel being on-par with that, haha, or even just a flashback, since it it seems like Shun's known her in the past. I suppose, alternatively, maybe her appearance changes after her change of heart, especially if she stays relevant in the story? The one thing I'm pretty sure of is that it's not her Shadow, given the files aren't labeled as her Shadow self, she doesn't have golden eyes, and, also, they should still have the same name if they were her Shadow.
Feel free to reply/send another ask if neither of these were what you were talking about with the portraits, though!

Vesper-sama! Hell-o!
I was thinking, the turtles have the turtle pile, and we saw how the twins sleep together... but all usagis have a usagi pile? maybe in winter?
I have questions for the comic too, the ninja who marked Yuichi said "I smell" not see, why?.. and just in the next panel "jolt" ...but maybe is spoiler, so not problem if you can't explain
Btw the draw on fire is better...more dramatical? yes sir is better... and thanks, Yui-san looks cute with the strawberry sticker
Bunnon, I don't have energy or soul in this moment, but missed you and usagis... take care of yourself Vesper-sama
Usagi Pile! That’s right. Please take note of how “beds” are actually more like bean bags ;) It’s flexible, it’s circular, and there’s more surface area the more you put weight on it, so it fits more than it seems. Some have fluffy tops, some are just normal, and others might be fluffy all over— depends on how they like it, I suppose.
The twins grew up mostly alone with just the two of them and have each other’s backs at all times, so there isn’t a night they aren’t sleeping on each other. Yuichi snores the loudest and lays in the weirdest positions, while Shuji manages to sleep through a thunderstorm, so they’re kind of perfect for each other… Yui also knows exactly how to wake Shuji up if he needs a quick response from his brother, so he technically just lets Shuji sleep in. When they start living with Mizuki it causes a small, teeny tiny problem…
When Miyamoto is born, his parents are more than willing to pile. Yuichi joins in and Mizu can’t even protest, he’s related so he deserves it, and still living with them so he might as well. It starts to be more normal to sleep in 4 since Miyamoto is too young to be left alone. Once he’s old enough to have his own bed, they don’t pile as much except for winter or when he has a nightmare. Yuichi, at this point, learned to sleep by himself, so he doesn’t bother Mizu or his brother anymore. He might bother Miya sometimes, in Yuichi fashion. “Ohhh, My Nephew, I can't sleep~!” He would see if Miyamoto was awake. No response? Yuichi just ever so slightly worms himself over to the bed and lays on one end of it. There was a response? Yuichi would bellyflop onto Miya’s bed, which obviously gives Mizuki a heart attack if she heard about it, but it’s funny for the other two. Then they goof off, Yuichi would have done his job for the day, and they either sleep like that or he goes back to his room if Miya requests privacy.
Sorry, that was already so long and there’s still another part to your ask lol..
Dear Bunnon... errmmmm can you see their eyes ? ? I can't ... maybe it's just me but a giant metal plate over the entire half of the head might hinder vision just a little bit ! maybe you see something I don't, though.... or smell... (I drew this on my phone forgive me, my hand wants to rest but I wanted to draw anyway) In all seriousness though, yeah, they might be a little bit blind ! Also note the wording in this panel hmhm
"HAS AN HEIR." It's singular. The Ninja is actually.. unaware of Shuji's presence. Oh, and they're a lynx! Might make them a tag, they're really interesting to draw. I won't tag them by name since that would be a spoiler, but maybe #Lynx or #NNC Lynx or something would work? ionno Andddd, well, I suppose it would be a spoiler, yes... Perhaps there is meaning to this "JOLT" ? Can anyone tell for sure? Anyone know why they seemingly were .. shocked, into leaving the Usagis alone? Hmm.
I miss you too Bunnon, stay safe and take care ! UV and the Usagis will always wait for you and you're always welcome back here.

The kind of attitude that allows toxic writings to breed everywhere in the Manhwa sphere is exactly like this

I'm not arguing the historical accuracy but I do not like the attitude where just because your favorite character is called names and hated by others for certain reasons, suddenly comparing them to arguably worse people give them a higher holier than thou moral ground while that's just not it, just because there's a worse monster does not make another monster suddenly better
I am so glad you brought this up coz I've been cooking up a blog pertaining to the double standards in webtoon and manhwa communities especially when it comes to how readers treat main characters (main leads and main love interests) and side characters (second leads and second lead love interests).
Like, can we normalise disliking and holding characters accountable regardless of whether they're main characters or second leads and STILL enjoy the story?
If you can hate, roast and hold:
Sumin and Minhwan from Marry My Husband,
Yui Hirahara from I Love You
Danhui and Hyojo from You can't kill me: the secret bride of the black wolf
Yuncheol and all of the mofos who ruined Yunseong's life in Juvenile Offender
Yohan from Unholy Blood
Yena Ban from Muse On Fame
(And many other second lead characters and antagonists who've done some D1 heinous things to MCs and many other characters)
Accountable for their actions and dislike them. I'm pretty sure you can do the same for main characters, too.
So why is that that when we hold main characters accountable for their actions especially when said main characters have done some bad things, we get hit with:
You're not understanding their side or seeing it from their point of view.
Or my personal favourite:
If you don't like the character, then drop the story.
And I've been seeing that with male main love interests.

This mofo being the poster boy of how readers coddle the fuck out of toxic male love interests.
If you've been keeping up scheming through my blog, I think y'all already know how much I HATE Sihwa Kang from In Between (alongside Matthias from Cry or Better Yet Beg) and I've given my reasons. If you want to have a look at my thoughts on Sihwa, click here.
You have no idea how hard I roll my eyes at people defending Sihwa just coz he's got family trauma and claiming that Sihwa has genuine feelings for Eunseo yet his character and actions are saying otherwise.
Especially when, in the latest chapters (Spoilers), he decided to ask her out to be his girlfriend and date her exclusively, THE MOMENT HE SAW HER HANGING OUT WITH ANOTHER DUDE!
I don't know about y'all but if a guy you've been pining and crushing on, who friendzoned you or has no interest in you, suddenly shows interest in you the moment another guy who actually has interest in you or just casually hangs out with you swoops in, that crush of yours is shady as hell.
Like, where was this energy and interest when I was available and not looking at other guys? I'm starting to think that you enjoy the attention I give you and feed on it, and the only reason why you're even showing interest is to make you have me on your leash.
And that's EXACTLY what Sihwa is doing. He wants to use the girlfriend label to more or less brand Eunseo as his property to keep other dudes from pursuing her, and that's just obsessive and manipulative.
Point is:
If a character does some shitty things, they should be criticised and held accountable. It shouldn't even be a competition for who did it the worst coz at the end of the day, the character still did a bad thing.
Also, you can empathise with a character while also holding them accountable.
Like I empathise with Sumin from Marry My Husband. It was sad how her life turned to shit when her dad cheated on her mum with Jiwon's dad and made her mum into an abusive woman, but that's no excuse for how she treated Jiwon and wanting to ruin her life just coz Jiwon was lucky enough to still have a loving father even when he got cheated on.
I also empathise with Sihwa, especially since his life and family fell apart when he found out that his dad cheated on his mum, his mum's passing, and his stepmother trying to replace his deceased mother. But that's no excuse to toy with your friend's feelings, prank her into believing that they had sex while she was drunk, especially when you KNOW that she likes you.

Chipster Rambles About: Delicious Party PreCure (2022)
So, when I made a post about about making Wonderful Precure being my first ever Precure to watch, it was half and half due to wanting to check the series out and that I didn't have time to even watch it. But, I think I'm now able to see the franchise and I'll be starting with this one as a starter.
[Possible Spoilers Below]
By the synopsis, it seems that Delicious Party Precure is cooking themed by how cuisine is presented and Oishiina Town looks like every foodie's dream place due to having streets for a specific food type such as Western, Japanese, Chinese, etc.
It seems that the other world is the Cookingdom where we have a king and queen and have a character who's likely to stick with our main trio due to a recipe book going missing. I don't whether I expected it or not but having Rosemary be flat out hungry is how he meets the precures is pretty funny.
The precures for this show are Yui Nagomi, Kokone Fuwa, and Ran Hanamichi which each have their own restaurants. For the cure names, it might be me but Cure Sweet (Precious) and Cure Tangy (Yum Yum) might go well for the theming since Cure Spicy is the only one related to the cooking theme and how certain foods taste when we eat them. Maybe there is a Cure Sweet but I'll have to see which series it has that title. The ending centered around each cure is neat since the drinks are related to each cure: Strawberry juice, Soda pop, and Pineapple juice. It's pretty neat that their individual episodes gives them their own quirks and how food impacted their lives.
The Bundoru Gang are actually phantom thieves and it's very interesting how snatching a specific Recipeppi actually affects how the food tastes; just like how stealing the omurice fairy made the dish taste different to which directly made the other businesses shut down during the opening minutes. Didn't expect to have Gentlu to be break out of their control twice so early on. It also seems that each member of the Bundoru Gang has their own way on how food is affect from losing memories to becoming blocky. It's interesting that each member had their own reason, mainly their own dissatisfaction with food. Even though we only know that Gentlu/Cure Finale was brainwashed, I honestly wonder if she joined the gang out of her volition when she first met them since it does leave the possibility that she was left unsatisfied with something.
I also didn't expect that Takumi to catch on what was happening since the first episode. By the 13th episode, I'm like "Okay, what the hell is happening here!?" after I saw what he was holding. Next thing, you know I'm like "Oh. OH!" when I finished the episode. Was kind of bittersweet on his end since he genuinely loves Yui and has a conditioned dubbed "childhood friend syndrome" although there is hope that one day he'll confess on his own terms.
Cure Finale was something I expected to appear during the second half of the show but I was kind of surprised they would make her appearance early on. I like the parfait motif in her design and in honesty, this might be my favorite cure from the Delicious Party cast.
It did left me a bit teary eyed during the last few episodes and surprised to see the next Precure series just running towards the group on lending her pen to write something. Gotta say, I don't know whether to watch Sky Precure or Tropical Precure next.

Had an idea for “movie posters” for my Fog Cutters crossover fic (which I just recently decided to start over from the beginning... eventually). But fuck if I’m able to draw anything close to what’s in my head. But I also don’t want to just... forget it? So I’m deciding to describe the posters I’m envisioning in my head instead. Apologies in advance if you haven’t read my first attempt at writing the fic (which is on AO3) and you end up super lost.
NOTE: All characters are Danganronpa characters unless I specify otherwise. Doing this so it’s easier to follow along, even though the other series are pretty well known. I may also point out Danganronpa characters if I feel I might need to.
Also should probably point out just in case, all of the characters mentioned in this post are portrayed as being between the ages of 20 and 40 in this fic. In case that’s context you need for one reason or another.
So there are three posters that have Kyoko, Shuichi, and Makoto in the middle, standing in like a triangle formation, where one is being focused on and facing the viewer while the other two are facing other directions. In each one they are in the same pose (in the direction of where they’re facing, of course): Kyoko has her arms... not crossed, but like she’s holding her arms, right? And she’s wearing something like her DR3 attire but with hair closer to her DR1 self. Shuichi looks similar to his pregame look, with baseball cap and suit and tie, and he has one hand in his pants pocket and the other is holding the bill of his cap. And Makoto, who is either wearing a suit similar to his DR2 ending self or DR3, or wearing a hoodie under his suit because I mean that’s basically his DR1 look anyway, but regardless of all of that has his DR1 hair because I think it just fits him better, has his hands in his suit pockets.
The posters would then have other characters in the background that relate in some way to the character focused on. Won’t go too far with the spoilers and won’t go into detail on the rest of these characters’ clothing but I wanted to share a few of these ideas.
Kyoko:
Yui Samidare would be somewhere above the trio, probably somewhat transparent or angelic looking to hammer her home as a Lost Lenore kind of figure. Licorne should also be in the poster somewhere, but not necessarily transparent/angelic because he’s, y’know, alive.
Naoto and Akechi (Persona) would also be in the poster somewhere, and Tsumugi (Danganronpa) is also there with them because I want to make Naoto and Tsumugi cousins in this story. (Mostly doing that because they both have blue hair and have the same family name, so I mean... it works?)
Fuyuhiko and Peko would probably be on this poster too, looking all tough and shit. And if they’re not here, they’d be on Shuichi’s poster.
Fuhito, Jin, and maybe Kizakura and Nanamura would probably appear too, for backstory reasons.
One thing I failed to mention before is that each of these posters would have someone on a motorcycle somewhere (which is part of the reason why I don’t think I could make this even if I had the drive to). Now this is probably the biggest spoiler that I’m willing to share here, but the biker in this poster is a Kamen Rider spoof that wears a Monokuma mask and calls themself “Kuma Rider,” and they’re getting some fucking air in the background, red scarf flowing in the wind. No, I will not budge on this one, no matter how stupid the idea probably is. I actually have plans for Kuma Rider.
If there are any other characters that would be on here, they’d probably spoil too much, so perhaps it’s for the best I’m not actually making these. And this could go for all three of the posters, really.
Shuichi:
Another reason why it’s probably a good thing that I’m not actually making these: unlike Kyoko and Makoto I don’t really have many ideas on who would be on Shuichi’s poster. I mean there are a few obvious choices, but beyond them everyone else wouldn’t necessarily be tied to Shuichi specifically.
The obvious choices are, of course, Kaede and Kokichi. Other members of DICE (or at least the characters who are presented as members of DICE in this fic) would probably appear as well.
Since Kaede is going to be portrayed as someone who works as a pianist at a Broadway-like theater, other people who work at that theater would probably be included on this poster. This includes a character that I really hope I can do justice when/if I get that far in the fic: Chaplin Sukegawa (Deadman Wonderland), who I’d portray as a famous stage director.
There are two people on the motorcycle in this one: The DeLites (Ace Attorney), who are just some of the characters that I’m including in this story just to fill out the ranks of DICE, but they’d probably be among the more prominent ones. Definitely the biggest spoiler in this part of my post, but nothing major. (And yeah, they would be the DeLites here, partially because I’m more familiar with the English translation’s names but also because I’m portraying the setting this takes place in as a Japan/US hybrid not unlike the translations of Ace Attorney, so I feel it’s fitting)
Again, if Fuyuhiko and Peko aren’t on Kyoko’s poster, they’d be here, probably.
Makoto:
Another reason why this is probably a bad idea: if we’re being really honest here, this is more Chihiro’s poster than Makoto’s, since Makoto (outside of being Kyoko’s Watson and having slightly-more-wholesome-than-usual relationship drama) is mainly here to connect Kyoko’s story to Chihiro’s. Pidge (VLD) and Futaba (Persona) would be here somewhere, as well as Miu and probably Kazuichi since he’s also kinda in the friend group somewhat. The biker on this poster would be Mondo, looking like he’s about to drive off into the sunset never to be seen again. Taka would probably also be here for reasons. ...So yeah, it’s largely Chihiro-centric, with a few exceptions.
So if you haven’t seen my first attempt at this fic, or you are just unfamiliar with my taste in Makoto ships, Chihiro and Aoi are given a great deal of importance in the poster, probably looking like a reprise of the All Star Apologies title card, but maybe less dramatic.
Don’t worry, Aoi would get some love too. Yuta and Sakura would probably be on this poster as well.
Honestly, if there’s any place to put Rinichiro Hagire (Deadman Wonderland), who I had already established as a villain in this fic, it would probably be this poster. And there are reasons for that that I won’t go into because... again, spoilers.
So yeah, I don’t know why I felt compelled to share this idea. I guess a part of me thinks it’s kinda neat, but way too ambitious for me to handle. I also don’t quite care enough to ask or pay anyone to make it either. And I probably spoiled too much of my fic idea already. At least the BIG big stuff hasn’t been spoiled. But eh... just thought I’d share. It’s fun to share this stuff. Thanks for your time. Someday I will give this fic another shot. Hopefully.

Hello, can I request some headcanons of giyuu, muichiro, tamayo, yushiro and genya with a reader with a personality like yui komori from diabolik lovers? I mean, she's incredibly gentle, sweet, quite submissive and has some problems defending herself (but that doesn't mean she doesn't), I hope you don't mind that she makes many requests and if this exceeds your limit of characters you can not include some, take care of yourself!
All of these can be read as platonic or romantic except for Muichiro who is platonic!
Giyuu
He loves how optimistic you are. He can be seen as somewhat of a negative person so it's nice to have someone so optimistic around him. He loves how gentle you are too. One time he had gotten hurt and you offered to help him bandage his wounds he accepted your offer and you were so gentle with him the whole time. He barely felt anything the whole time you were bandaging the wound because of how gentle you were being.
Muichiro
He likes how nice and gentle you are. Whenever someone mentions your name he just perks up like he just instantly gets happy. No matter how rude someone is being you always have a kind response and that's something he admires. He loves listening to you talk and could listen for hours. He just thinks you're so interesting and truly feels safe around you. He thinks of you as a little sibling and can be very protective of you if he needs to be. He always accompanies you whenever you go out at night in case a demon attacks.
Tamayo
She immediately gets attached to you. You're so gentle with everyone and you're so nice to Yushiro and you're so sweet and gentle with her she absolutely adores you. She keeps you close to her at all times getting quite protective of you. She becomes a lot more careful and wary of Muzan. Fearing Muzan will find you and kill you. She makes sure to never let patients she treats get too close to you for fear of them being related to Muzan in some way. After a long night of work, she loves sitting down and talking to you. Your positivity is something she absolutely loves.
Yushiro
He doesn't like you at first because you took up a lot of Tamayo's attention. But as he gets to know you he starts to really enjoy your company. You're extremely gentle with him and he feels safe around you and feels like he doesn't have to have his guard up all the time. He loves the attention you give him and how sweet and kind you are to him. He loves laying on your lap while you play with his hair or while you tell him about your day or while he tells you about his day.
Genya
Spoilers for the manga
Bro, he absolutely ADORES you. From the moment he met you he wants to spend all his free time with you. You listen to him talk about his problems with Sanemi and you give him advice and he honestly couldn't be more thankful for you. Even if you know Sanemi hates him you care enough to listen to him and that means more to him than you'll ever know. He's very protective of you due to your sweet and gentle personality. He always offers to walk you home at night after you both are done with training.
Thank you for your request! Have a nice day/night

🔥New Khr OC Questions🔥
💞Anyone welcome to participate! 💞
People really enjoyed themselves with the last list of questions I made! So I made an even bigger one!! So much so, I don't really expect anyone to answer all these questions. Just pick and choose whatever you want to answer if it's too much lmao
‼️This is not just for OCs! If you feels you've modified one of the canon characters so much that they're a whole different person now, tell me about them as well please!‼️
I will also tag a bunch of people whomst OCs I really enjoyed and remembered from the last list of questions! There will be some repeat questions here, so you can elaborate if you wanna or just skip those lmao
Tags under the Cut cause I will also give a lil commentary on the OCs I know so far. :3
‼️Also these Questions are mostly spoiler free so don't worry! Only one question asks about something that's introduced after the Varia Arc I think. I put a 🌸 next to that one.‼️
@juudaimes-true-form Amara & Ricardo were both very fun and I like knowing about them! But l Alexandros is a very good vibe I wanna know the him uwu
@einsatzzz Kana, Kurumi & Yui are Hella intriguing! Do pls elaborate on all of them! Particularly Yui has spiked my interest! Did you finish that art of him you were working on?
@heryemily5927 Hanabi is adorable please tell me more if you feel up to it! :D
@kiralushia Nozomi & Cloud! I would like to see both of them for this! But I also wanna know more about Arashi because she gets mentioned often too :3
@acedragontrainer Ayane & Yuki may have been randomly created but they are so gawddang fun! Please give them backstories with the questions here. If you wanna of course ^^
@masterdisastre Xavier is babiest Boi, but what about Dani!? And also pls tell me of any other OC you wanna talk about!! I'll treasure each and every single one of them! :D
@cloudspark You reblogged the old Questions once wondering if you'll find the time and motivation to introduce your OC, so I will tag you here too since there are more questions here. :3
@ciaossn Amalia is best lady pls tell me more even if her true origin story has been tragically lost ;w; I wish to know her as much as possible!
The Basics:
What's their name? Their pronouns? Sexuality? Gender Identity? Their Age and Ethnicity?
What do they look like? Body type? Identifying characteristic? Art or picrew of your oc? (No AI art pls.)
Why did you create this character? Just for fun? Or is there a purpose behind them? Maybe a canon character you created them for? As a friend, love interest, sibling, child, parent, rival, nemesis?
What's the family situation of your OC? If they have family, how about a brief summary of the relationships of their family to the canon characters?
What are their other notable relationships to Canon characters? (Example: Hibari's little brother also happens to be Tsuna's childhood best friend and Gokudera's love interest) If there are none right now, are there any plans for relationships in the future?
Does your Oc have disabilities? Mental illnesses, neurodivergencies, missing limbs, chronic pains, physical limitations, some kind of food sensitivity? Anything that affects their day to day life goes!
Combat Questions:
What are your OC's flames, if they have any? And how do they use their flames? Do they ever use them outside combat?
How do they prefer to fight? Do they know how to fight in a way they dislike or hate? (Example: Hibari prefers hand-to-hand combat and dislikes firearms, but he knows how to shoot someone if he has no choice)
Do they have formal training? How many fighting styles do they know? What weapons can they wield?
What are their strengths? Their weaknesses?
🌸Do they have a flame weapon, or a box weapon/animal? How did they get these weapons? What level ring (best S>A>B>C>D>worst E) do they wield? Can they use their ring efficiently? If no, why not?🌸
Oh no! Your OC is unable to fight! (Too tired, injured, whatever) How do they deal with the enemy now? Do they flee, still try to fight, call for backup, or what do they do?
Philosophical Questions:
Answer this first before reading/thinking further! Would your OC change anything about themselves if they could?
What's their favourite colours? Their favourite season? Their favourite weather? Their favourite animal?
What are their hobbies? What are they passionate about? Is there a passion they had to give up? If so, why?
What kind of people do they dislike? Do they like who they themselves are?
What is their biggest secret? What's the biggest/worst lie they ever told? What lie do they frequently tell themselves?
What's their darkest desire? What's their biggest hope for the future? If they had the money, how would they want to change the world they live in?
If the world ended tomorrow, how would they spend their last day on earth? Who would they want to be with? Their worst fear stands between them and saving the world, would they be able to overcome that fear to save the world?
What would be their civilain dream job? If they had to kill someone innocent to save a friend, would they be able to do it? How long would their choice haunt them? Would they be able to face their friend if they decided to sacrifice them, but things ended up working out?
Your OCs biggest, wildest dreams all just came true! What do they do next? Who do they celebrate with? How do they celebrate? Loud exhilaration or quiet disbelief?
After these questions, I ask again, what would your OC change about themselves if they could? Did the answer change?
Khr Character Questions! [Or 'I am putting the OCs in ✨situations✨']
Vongola:
Sawada Tsunayoshi burst into flames, flew into the sky and took out a missile that was headed towards the area your Oc was in. How do they go about interacting with Tsuna after that?
Gokudera Hayato dragged your OC to an empty classroom to investigate ghosts, but it turns out it was just teenagers. Hayato seems genuinely disheartened, does your Oc want to comfort him?
Sasagawa Ryohei just pulled your Oc away from oncoming traffic! He proceeds to ask them to join the boxing club! How do they go about rejecting him, given that he just saved their life?
Bovino Lambo just send your Oc ten years into the future! What situation did your Oc end up in? What's their reaction to this future?
Yamamoto Takeshi is sitting by himself, holding a baseball and looking oddly melancholic. Your OC does not know what is going on, except that usually Takeshi is a cheerful guy. Do they approach him? What do they say?
Hibari Kyoya comes across your Oc with a bleeding wound at his side. He is most obviously unwell, but also pissed, how does your Oc approach this situation?
Chrome Dokuro knows what your Oc did and it feels like she is judging them for their dirty secrets. How does your Oc try to buy her silence?
Rokudo Mukuro wandered into the dream your Oc had last night! Does he leave with even more trauma, creepily amused, weirdly charmed or thoroughly bored?
Fuuta DeLa Stella fianlly ranked your Oc first in something! What category did he rank them first in? What is your OC's reaction?
I-pin just blew up and then landed gently in the arms of your Oc. How do they react to this literal pipe bomb baby?
Sasagawa Kyoko handed your Oc Valentine's friendship chocolates and thanked them for looking after her brother! This might be a misunderstanding, but these are also the only/first chocolates your Oc was given, so what do they tell her?
Miura Haru made your Oc their dream outfit! But something significant about it is wrong, how does your Oc give critique on that?
Kurokawa Hana just called your Oc a monkey to their face. How ready, if at all, are they to throw hands with this civilain middle/high-school girl?
Arcobaleno:
Fon wants to share spicy curry with your Oc, but the spoon is glowing red hot. Does your Oc risk it?
Reborn shot someone infront of your Oc. Tsuna won't believe them. What will they do now?
Verde wants to study your Oc so he asks if they'd volunteer for science. No money is involved but they do get to hang out with Verde, do they take the offer?
Lal Mirch has taken over the CEDEF and there is a party that your OC somehow ended up invited to! Do they bring Lal a gift? If so, what kinda gift?
Colonnello got drunk from sipping some wine, he is sad, melancholic and heavily armed. How does your Oc handle the situation?
Skull thinks you're really cute and creative! He wants to know how you came up with your Oc? And your favourite scene of your Oc!
Viper just gave your OC a slice of pizza. Will they eat it? Are they aware of the risks? Are there risks?
Varia:
Xanxus meets your Oc at a bar and tells them to get him a drink. What does your Oc do? If they make an order, what would they order for Xanxus?
Belphegor is staring at your OC from a distance and chuckling maniacally. What wardrobe malfunction did he notice on your OC?
Lussuria slings his feather scarf around your Oc and tells them they're a cutie. How does your Oc respond to the sudden flirting and closeness? Do they know Lussuria is powerful as well as queer?
Levi-a-Than just told your Oc that they'd be so pretty if they put a bit more effort into their look. How does your Oc react?
Superbi Squalo yells so loud it's almost bothering your Oc! How do they tell him to quiet down? How long do they last in the every-man-for-himself Varia-style brawl that comes next?
Mammon is wanting to extort your Oc for money. What blackmail material does Mammon have to do so? (What is an embarrassing thing your Oc did that Mammon could reasonably find out about?)
Fran is getting on your OC's nerves, constantly and seemingly very much on purpose. Everyone else is already using that boy as target practice, so does your Oc join in?
Others:
Dino Cavallone compares your OC to Tsuna. Is your Oc insulted by the comparison? What if it was accurate?
Dino's right hand man Romario invites your character out for a drink! What drink do they order to impress, intimidate, or endear themselves to the Cavallone Familia? Or do they reject the invite entirely?
Hibari's right hand man Kusakabe Tetsuya thinks your Oc is too noisy and tells them to shut up if they don't want to get bitten to death. Does your Oc take that as a challenge? Hibari Kyoya does not seem to be nearby in the first place... (He is watching from a nearby roof)
Something got past the safety on your OC's garbage cans and made a massive mess! Ken stands as the main, but not the only suspect. Does your Oc make that accusation? Do they worry they would offend Ken for accusing him of that, just for having more animalistic behaviours?
Chikusa's yoyo just flipped off it's string and bonked your Oc on the head. He acts apologetic, but your Oc has a feeling he did that on purpose. How does your Oc proceed?
The Last Question!!
Please gimme links as to where people can find stories or art about your OCs!
Thank you for reading and answering if you do! :D

Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden Spoiler Post
Thoughts, Speculation, the juicy stuff you might want to know about if you don't plan on buying it...
So first of all before I get into it, short review: I think I liked FM more, that one did more cool stuff, but I liked BoB's Soundtrack better.
As with all VoC games, it's important to note that there is no lore, just vibes, so who's to say. Characters that look the same might be the same, but they also might not (I personally think they aren't). That being said.
BoB is set in a world without night (like Automata) that is built on top of the ruins of giant cities (filled with YoRHa merch) and our protagonist (who looks like Zero) can use Nier DNA magic to capture monsters (some of which we have already seen before). Which kind of implies that it is in the far future of the far future. And I guess that also means that YoRHa had a merch division...

(Thought I just had: What if Yorha was just a brand name before it turned into the 2B factory, but that part was forgotten and these are just relics from before that time…?)
But that's not all! A big part of the game ends up being Al'e's ancestor, who's also the superboss of the game (which means I don't have his card yet and I'm too lazy to grind for it, so if any of you guys beat him feel free to tell me about what his card says)
And he also might be Brother Nier? (Don't worry, I'm only going to get more unhinged from here)
The base of his silhouette is a white haired boy with an iron pipe and he fights black and yellow monsters, who are man-made bioweapons that went out of control. To combat them he invented a medicine that alters a human's dna (Nier Magic Alarm) and it turns out that the beings that were blamed for everything bad are actually *gasp* humans themselves.
Now, of course that doesn't match Replicant 100%, but it lines up with it pretty well. (Also this was revealed in a movie which might be some degree of fake, so who knows.)
Honestly at first I really wasn't vibing with BoB doing the cycle of violence again, because at this point it's been done a million times, I don't think "I will do atrocities because you killed my [insert person i care about here], but maybe... doing atrocities is actually wrong, because we are the same??" is interesting enough to be redone as much as it already is, especially since drakenier already had at least one game about the cycle of violence (i guess they all are...? kind of?) but then they kind of acknowledge and point out that Yes. We have done this story already. That's the point of cycle of violence stories. It happens again and again and again. Maybe for different reasons, but it seems like we never learn.
And suddenly "Could this guy be Brother Nier?" makes it even more "Yeah. We have done this a lot haven't we. And yet."
Anyways, now to the juicy speculation portion I promised:
So the big bad of the game turns out to be Pulche's mom Mizara, who wanted to understand monsters against the scorn of her people, only to learn that monsters are actually humans. Since the atrocities against them are even wronger than what she initially believed, she turns against humanity and wants to turn everybody into monsters instead.
So. In the german script the monsters refer to her as Mama.
There was a moment where I thought "Wait... It's not... that Mama, right?", but since Mama is just the german word for Mom it's the most logical word for a german script to use here, and since I would trust the impeccable german localization with my life I just accepted that and moved on.
I also wasn't smart enought to just listen if Yui Ishikawa said Mama or not... so if you could tell me how they refer to her in other languages, feel free to do so, because if they also call her Mama...
But then we get to her final final form.
And I realized
that she's sitting in a cage...
(Well kind of, it's definitely a stretch, but I have long arms let me be delusional)
So what if she is that Mama...
While everybody else is ripped in half when they die, she just evaporates after she drank the monster potion and was defeated. And the cards for the three beasts paint a picture that they really deeply cared about their "Mama" and of course she's also Pulche's mom, too. So maybe she woke up as Mama in the cage, because that was what she was remembered as...
(No, don't worry, probably not. But as long as we don't have Mama backstory, we might as well pretend. And listen, playing Voice of Cards with a nier-lore conspiracy board makes it so much more entertaining, I highly recommend it.)
btw, Mizara being mainly driven by the lore reveals of a movie is so funny to me for some reason? Like, what if the movie is an entertainment movie and entirely made up, but nobody knows what movies are so everybody thinks that's the truth.

An Essay on Love in Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time is a movie about love in all its forms. From the love of family, friends, and neighbors, to the compassion we feel for people we have never met. The movie reminds us that love is something we continuously gain, lose, and choose, again and again. Which love is greatest? In my opinion, the answer to that question is left up to interpretation. In this essay, I will give my own personal interpretation on certain character interactions and what I believe we are meant to take away from their Rebuild portrayals.
The character I will start with is one I’ve noticed the most outrage over from people who haven’t seen the movie and read out-of-context spoilers: Kaworu Nagisa.
Kaworu is a beloved character among many Evangelion fans, especially those who are members of the LGBT+ community. He is a canonical love interest of Shinji Ikari and I want to reassure people that this final movie does not change that fact. However, it does not make the couple blatantly endgame either. This skirting around the couple might make some fans upset, and while their feelings are completely valid, I do not think they fully understand the difficulties faced by LGBT+ people in Japan, nor do they understand the way that romance is typically conveyed in Japanese storytelling. (I recommend watching “Is ‘Yuri On Ice’ Good Gay Representation?” by James Somerton for more about storytelling nuances.)
What have we been shown about Shinji and Kaworu’s love? The good news is, anything you read into the original TV series and End of Evangelion is completely true for the Rebuilds— because Kaworu is the same Kaworu. This movie proves Evangelion is a single universe set on repeat, and that Kaworu and Shinji meet each other every loop, and in each, Kaworu is trying to make Shinji happy. Within the final movie, Shinji becomes aware of the loops and chooses to break the cycle and free Kaworu from his pain.
What does the relationship between Shinji and Kaworu teach us? I believe the purpose of their love is to show the audience that first, in the words of Kaji, “love has no gender.” Second, I believe Kaworu’s love in particular is a warning about basing your own happiness solely upon another person. There are parallels drawn between Gendo/Yui and Kaworu/Shinji. Gendo could not exist without Yui, and so he was willing to destroy the world to be reunited with her. For Kaworu, it was not the destruction of humanity, but the destruction of himself that defined his tragedy. What’s important within the final movie, in my opinion, is that Shinji does not reject Kaworu’s love. With the insight he’s gained from remembering past loops, he sees Kaworu’s love and appreciates him, but he also sees his suffering and wants to ease it. He helps Kaworu into a new world where he can seek his own happiness and find balance in his life (something his father did not have).
While Kaworu and Shinji are not seen as an explicit couple at the end of the movie, it’s significant to note that, when he sets Kaworu free, Shinji holds out his hand to Kaworu as a promise to stay together. Over the course of the movie, Shinji comes to accept his connection to others through accepting touch (in the form of hand holding and hugs from Rei, Misato, and Gendo); however, Kaworu is the only character in the movie who Shinji initiates physical contact with and that speaks to how much Kaworu means to him. This simple gesture, in my opinion, keeps the door open for Kaworu and Shinji to be a couple one day, after Kaworu has found more balance in his life.
If I were to write an entire essay about Kaworu, it would be titled, “Out of the Coffin: How the Resurrection of Kaworu Nagisa Buries the Tragic Lovers Trope” because this movie truly does just that.
Another potential love interest for Shinji for many years was Asuka; however, unlike with Kaworu, the nature of this relationship is not left up to interpretation by the end of the movie. Before her big final battle, Asuka tells Shinji, “I think I loved you back then” (regarding their time in middle school) and Shinji, during Instrumentality, tells Asuka, “Thank you for saying you loved me. I loved you too.” It is past tense.
What does this relationship teach us? It’s a beautiful way of showing that we can love people, and grow and learn, and let go when we no longer fit each other. Letting go is an integral part of life. Whereas other Instrumentality scenes involve touch, Asuka’s, mirroring the ending of End of Evangelion, has a distinct lack of touch. Shinji sits with his arms around his knees and Asuka turns her body away from him. He gives her his thanks and he sends her off to find her peace. Asuka and Shinji teach us that it’s okay to grow out of relationships. You can appreciate what they were to you at the time they happened and move on.
What about Rei? To be honest with you, this movie is less about Rei’s relationship with Shinji, and more about her relationship with the world. Rei teaches movie viewers about the simple pleasures of living. While Shinji is in mourning for the first quarter of the movie, Rei (as “Sokkuri”) is learning about crop growing and community, the wonder of babies and kittens, the joy of the bath after a long day of fruitful work, and the power of words and picture books. At the end of her life, she only regrets not having more time to spend with the people she loves. In Instrumentality, Shinji accepts her hand when it is offered to him, which I hope signifies he is ready to see life as she had come to during the final movie.
Rei teaches us that we can love living and to not take our limited time for granted.
Next, we move on to parent figures: Gendo and Misato. I think they both represent people ill suited to the role, who do the best they can despite it. Gendo, as mentioned for Kaworu above, is a warning about defining yourself by your relationship to another person (Ikari, afterall, is Yui’s name). He is also a lesson in how people mourn and how they can lash out. Misato, like Gendo, felt herself a poor parent, and while mourning the loss of Kaji, she gave up her child to be raised by other people, but, unlike Gendo, went forward to put all her energy into protecting humanity. Both of them reach out to hug Shinji within the movie and he accepts them where they are.
While I wouldn’t say the movie shows that Shinji forgives Gendo, it does show his making an effort to understand and make peace with what others have done. For Misato, it is fair to say we can still hope for a better future, even when it feels like everything is crumbling around us. Her self-sacrificing love for her son and the whole of humanity is what enables Shinji to then save the people he loves (via the spear of Gaius).
In the movie, we are also shown friendship. Touji, Hikari, and Kensuke are important members of their community who maintain open communication with those around them and respect others’ boundaries. They are patient and kind and represent the importance of being present. They teach us to meet people where they are and support them how we can, whether it’s giving them a warm meal or giving them space when they need it.
There are many more characters that could be talked about, but today I am going to end on Mari. Mari’s love is physical. She enjoys being in people’s personal bubbles. She cuddles Asuka and helps trim her hair, she gets into Gendo’s space at college, and at the end of the movie, she reaches out her hand to Shinji to help him stand up from his seat. Upon first glance, some viewers might take Mari and Shinji’s final scene to be romantic, but the reality of it is this: We do not, and cannot, know what kind of love she is meant to represent in his life.
We do not know Mari’s relationship with Shinji because they hardly interact in the movie. She clearly cares about him, but in my opinion, it comes from a place of duty and compassion— Mari was friends with Gendo and Yui. She has been there since he was born. (If we take the manga to be canon, then Mari even had romantic feelings towards his mother. Her hairstyle and glasses are from Yui. At the end of the movie, Mari has changed her hairstyle, which to me implies she has moved on, and “getting” with Shinji would be a thematic break.)
Additionally, their conversation, while flirty, is very much one that implies they haven’t seen each other for a while. Mari is someone who is very physically affectionate. With everyone. If someone ignores that and focuses on the fact she gets into Shinji’s space and claims that’s romantic, they better acknowledge it’s possibly romantic with Asuka, who we see far more intimacy with. When Mari flirts, Shinji flirts back and her initial reaction is surprise, “Wow, you’ve learned to talk back!” Her purpose is clear. She is there to remove the DSS choker from his neck.
Personally, I love that Mari is the one to close the movie, for the exact reason that we do not know her relationship with Shinji. For Mari to have an assigned role would be to say, “This kind of love is most important,” when the entire movie was spent showing us each love is of equal importance in the balance and building of our lives. (It’s wonderful to see those types of love embodied across the platform from Shinji at the end of the movie: Rei and Kaworu, who, just like in End of Evangelion, could signify the ability to connect with others and be loved.)
If you view Mari as a romantic love interest, then I think it speaks to the value that you as an individual give to romance rather than what the characters themselves are feeling. To me, Mari, the character who was created to “destroy Eva,” is a symbol of all love. When Shinji takes her offered hand and then pulls her to run into the new world, it’s a symbol of balance. The give and take of any kind of relationship.
We are the product of every relationship we have ever had, from our parents to the people we once loved, from our friendships to any other person we want to stay connected to. Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time is a story about these relationships. It is a story about love.

wow, I forgot about her classmates bullying her (especially in Kou's MB route)! that just makes my heart break for Yui..Not only is she getting harassed by the DL boys everydays who make fun of her body and face, but also by a bunch of other girls who are "prettier" than her (not on the inside), thus making her feel bad about her looks. I would be devastated in her position, and she deserves the world! I've never bought the whole they think she's pretty act after they have insulted her so much before "loving" her -___-
// Yeah, those classmates are indeed very mean.I know they’re supposed to be really pretty since they’re celebrities(actresses, idols, models)so they do fit the beauty standards but this gives them no right to harass someone who did absolutely nothing wrong to them.
Spoiler warning?
Some classmates are nice though ,they gave her once movie tickets but most of them only search for Yui if:
1.They’re curious about the relationship with *inserts Diaboy name*
2.They want her to solve their school duties because they have something else to do.For example when this girl told Yui to clean up the classroom for her or when she was asked by another one to make a public announcement calling for the committee members in the school’s broadcasting room.Besides Yui accepted each and every time…
Yui is such a kind person who would love to befriend anyone but nobody actually wants to be her friend???Not even the teachers take her seriously!Once in Reiji’s HDB route ,Ayato made Yui talk to him and the teacher heard them but only grounded Yui,not Ayato as well.
But all the hate she gets only makes her feel extremely insecure about herself. Out of all the Sakamaki brothers, the only ones who have never called her ugly ,nor implied that ,are Reiji,Laito and Ayato.Of course they made fun of other aspects but I would honestly rather be called flat than ugly ://
I know that it’s in their sadistic nature to degrade their prey, that’s not excusable but once you’re in love with someone, you start seeing them way more attractive than they actually are, especially if you fell for them because of their personality, since this plays a bigger role than looks.
I have no clue why so many people, including a part of the fandom, consider Yui ugly. I doubt she’s canonically gorgeous but she’s definitely decent looking even in the DL universe, despite being so criticised. Moreover,no otome heroine is unattractive since their design has to make them look appealing to the public.
