CHANCE.
TW! implications of death.
bittersweet! melancholic
t. muichiro x f. reader
graciously requested by @muuumuiiii ! thank you so much for requesting, you sweet lovely lad<3
who would have anticipated it? the mist hashira, of all individuals, displaying a concern that surpassed anyone else's for you—the spirit pillar; a warrior whose technique came at the steep cost of a gradual erosion of your life.
THE MOON; THE BRIGHTEST PEARL SUSPENDED IN OUR VELVET SKY THAT FLOODED THE INKY DARKNESS WITH ITS SILVER GLOW.
a radiant disc it was. casting its ethereal glow upon the shadows of the night, while also heralding the relentless onslaught of a few infamous entities—demons.
a symbol of hope, this pale sentinel embodied a goddess-like presence, standing as a timeless guardian, observing the earth with an unwavering gaze as warriors valiantly battled the monstrous creatures scattered throughout.
above, the luminous orb commanded the vast expanse of stars, illuminating them all. yet, even in this peaceful night, two particular slayers found themselves immersed in the serenity, although one seemed burdened by a more pressing concern, far beyond the tranquility itself.
in a world where such creatures roamed, the perfect harmony would remain elusive.
thus, what purpose did survival serve if death constantly loomed, a persistent visitor at one's very doorstep?
well, the purpose of life is to be happy. or at least, that's what this young man believed.
said boy possessed an acute understanding of this belief, as if it had become ingrained in the very fabric of his being—an awareness that, perhaps, bordered on the excessive.
the sheer ecstasy of savoring every moment of existence, embracing its essence in its entirety, was undeniably a remarkable achievement—a feat that deserved to be celebrated with fervor.
thus, he found himself utterly incapable of comprehending—indeed, he never had—how she could nonchalantly dismiss the imminent cessation of her own existence, as if it were a trifling matter. the weight of her disregard for her own life gnawed at him, like a persistent ache that defied understanding.
..then again, had he been any different?
"—and…now you’re spacing out, again.”
ah, the sound of that melodious voice; both longed for and dreaded, resonated within him and snapped him out of his reverie. even though he had incessantly poured out his thoughts to her since he awakened from his coma, with her faithfully by his side, deep in slumber—despite her own exhaustion—she had remained.
as your words echoed in his ears, he shifted his gaze to meet your own—and oh, those eyes.
he would give anything to forever witness his own reflection in the depths of your eyes.
in a mesmerizing dance, your gazes intertwined; an exquisite tapestry woven with delicate threads of connection.
he couldn't help but be entranced by the sheer magnificence of your irises—their majesty akin to rare crystalline treasures, gleaming beneath the majestic canopy of the nocturnal sky.
as a gentle zephyr whispered sweet nothings, its delicate touch caressed their beings, a tender embrace from the invisible hands of nature. he watched, his eyelids descending to a half-closed state, surrendering to the enchanting symphony of the night.
the breeze, like a playful sprite, felt as if it alone, could carry away his worries and sorrows, dispersing them into the velvety darkness.
yet, amidst this reposeful tranquility, a question lingered in the depths of his soul, an enigma that remained elusive and enigmatic.
it was one of the few riddles that continued to elude his grasp, an enigmatic puzzle that defied comprehension, regardless of whether he had regained his former self or not.
why, he pondered ever so deeply, did your well-being hold such profound significance to him?
why did his heart ache with an inexplicable yearning to protect you, to ensure the radiance within you remained untouched by the shadows of the world? it was as if his very purpose revolved around safeguarding your light, shielding it from the encroaching darkness threatening to dim its brilliance.
no, he never intended to diminish your worth in any way.
on the contrary—he understood, with a profound certainty, that you’re fully capable of caring for yourself alone.
yet, despite his awareness, a veil of mystery draped over his consciousness—that of a delicate wisp of mist teasing the boundaries of his understanding. it remained tantalizingly close, yet perpetually out of his reach, an enigma that eluded his grasp.
similarly elusive was the faint, almost imperceptible yet weighty pang in his heart each time his gaze flickered to your bandages that dressed your wounds.
he struggled to fathom its origins, to decipher the emotions that coursed through him with every glance. was it concern, fear, or something different altogether?
of course, he chastised himself for overreacting. after all, you were healing, weren't you?
...right?
at least, that was the relentless mantra he repeated to himself, like a haunting melody, a lullaby of self-deception.
perhaps it was a lie he constructed, a defense mechanism to shield himself from the harsh reality. deep down, he knew all too well that you were pushing yourself to the brink, sacrificing fragments of your own well-being to save countless others from the clutches of death.
how he yearned to tell you—to implore you—to cease using the very essence that slowly, yet inexorably, eroded your own vitality. the desire to shield you from the self-inflicted harm, consumed him.
yet, who was he to stand in your way?
who was he to dictate how you should pursue your purpose—your solemn vow? who had the right to demand that you discard the only technique you knew, as if acquiring a new skill were a trivial matter?
perhaps, for you, it had maybe once been a tangible option—a plausible alternative.
however, it clashed with the very reason why you chose to persist in wielding the power of spirit breathing, despite its unfortunate and devastating toll on your own being.
it was a conundrum that weighed heavily upon his soul, yet another conflict that tugged at the frayed edges of his limited understanding.
then, abruptly—his consciousness snapped back to reality, like a fragile dream shattered by the gentle sweep of a waving hand.
in that instant, the symphony of your voice, a sweet and melodious tune, graced his senses once more, stirring his spirit from its slumber.
"hello? earth to tokito?"
your words danced in the air, adorned with a delicate blend of amusement and genuine concern—whilst he, silently observed your actions. his gaze lingering for a fleeting moment, as if capturing the essence of your graceful movements.
soon enough, his eyes blinked, like a dormant star awakening to illuminate the night sky, as he finally stirred from his reverie.
with a subtle tilt of his head, he emitted a soft hum—a melodic expression that intertwined intrigue and acknowledgment in response to your beckoning. the notes of his hum danced through the air, a secretive melody that conveyed both his curiosity and the recognition of your presence.
meanwhile, you watched him with an internal sigh of relief.
the young man, whom you had believed to be forever lost in the bewitching realm of his perpetual daydreams, had returned to the realm of the present. the transformation within him, from introspective to effervescent, had you spellbound, never failing to leave you even in but a speck of awe, of these rare moments of clarity that graced his being.
"seems like someone's finally awake."
a faint smile blossoming upon your lips, akin to the first delicate bloom of a spring flower. lowering your hand with graceful grace,
you adjusted yourself to a more comfortable position beside him on the edge of the engawa outside the butterfly manor—a perch where you and him had been leisurely spending time together, without a care in the world, rambling on about. relishing in the comfort in one another’s presence—like a normal pair of souls basking in the way of life.
"you’ve been staring at me for quite a while.”
pausing for a breath, you tilted your head—the radiance of your irises blooming with an enchanting glow, as if the secrets of the universe were hidden within their depths.
"what's wrong?"
in the midst of an enchanting moment, a subtle hint of wounded innocence played across your seductive countenance, evoking a mysterious allure.
"do i look that bad?"
your voice, though as mellow and gentle as always, carried an underlying touch of vulnerability.
in an instant, he reacted, tilting his head with a subtle mixture of surprise and denial.
"what? no."
aa he blinked, his words slipped out absent-mindedly, like a whisper from a dreamer's lips.
"far from it, actually."
he confessed, his sincerity palpable.
with a gaze that held a painter's eye for detail, he saw your flaws not as imperfections, but as intricate brush strokes that added depth to the masterpiece of your being. inexplicably, he adored you, to the point where it practically pained him.
and who could blame him? for you were way more than a mere beauty that could be captured in words. you were a tapestry of emotions, a symphony of sensations that defied description.
to him, you are everything.
your brows raised slightly, captivated by his ever-unpredictable nature. truly, like the wind, he embraced the freedom to wander in any direction he pleased.
reminiscent of an owl, you blinked a plenty amount of times, momentarily stunned by the sheer audacity of his flattery. it seeped into the recesses of your heart, stirring a delicate blend of bashfulness and gratitude.
"then..."
unintentionally mimicking his gestures, as if dancing in synchrony with his spirit, you then asked, avidly yearning to explore the depths of his thoughts.
"mind sharing what's got you so..distant?"
although it was not deemed uncommon for him, of all individuals, to maintain a silent disposition, you possessed a deeper understanding—having witnessed something greater, something more.
despite the mere span of a few days, you stood as a crucial observer to the sudden shift in his demeanor. having been privy to a bewildering yet endearingly interactive side of the boy since his awakening, it became slightly disconcerting to witness him potentially regress into his characteristic, distant, and dazed state.
the memory of those extraordinary moments lingered, and it was disheartening to question whether they were mere illusions or if they held the promise of something genuine.
as of now, the male in question pressed his lips together, creating a slender line as his gaze wandered away from yours, as though searching for a brief respite from reality.
seeing this, you reassured him. carefully observing these subtle occurrences with your keen irises.
"you don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
responding with a weary shake of his head and a sigh escaping his lips, his gaze flickered back to you, and as his eyes connected with yours once more, a subtle softness overcame them.
truly breathtaking were his eyes. they possessed a hue reminiscent of emerald, yet they gleamed like the replesdent glow of the moon above.
however, what truly captured your attention was the way his brows furrowed just as the corner of his lips downturned, for internally—a cascade of emotions crashed upon him all at once. moreover, a despairing layer seemed to coat his eyes, a poignant sorrow that caught you off guard.
"i don't like it."
he stated firmly, his words hanging in the air, leaving you perplexed.
your head tilted slightly further, eyes widening as you regarded him with curiosity and intrigue.
in response, he raised a hand to the area where his heart resided, his gaze lowering and narrowing towards the ground beneath you both.
"this feeling..."
his voice carried a weight of uncertainty, gaze delicately shifted back to meet yours—and in that moment, you could have sworn you saw his frown deepen as the hint of sorrow on his features became even more pronounced.
"and knowing you could..."
he trailed off, unable to bring himself to complete his sentence. yet, the unfinished words were enough for you to grasp the essence of his meaning.
your brows upturned, sensing the profound depth of emotions he struggled to express fully through words. you had a hunch that it might be something like this, but witnessing his reaction with such intensity was, without a doubt, enough to evoke a painful ache in anyone's heart.
the desire to comfort him welled up within you, an overwhelming longing to ease his burdens. yet, you couldn't help but question how you could possibly offer reassurance.
would it be by telling a blatant lie about something that was inevitable?
now, that would be nothing short of cruelty, no?
to suggest that you would overcome it would only exacerbate the pain. moreover, you were uncertain how to approach the situation without inadvertently triggering a devastating chain of events in the unavoidable future.
truth be told, if he were anyone else, you might have dismissed the matter with a casual remark, wouldn't you?
but with him, it was different.
you couldn't bring yourself to say so.
unable to find the right words in that moment, your gaze somberly shifted away from his, fixating on a distant point ahead. yet, in a sudden and unexpected instant, you were taken aback as you felt the weight of something new but vaguely familiar resting upon your shoulder—soft strands of supple hair gently brushing against you. along with it came a delicate warmth, enveloping you in an oddly soothing sensation.
"you don't have to say anything."
he quietly uttered, his honeyed voice carrying a mix of vulnerability and reassurance. he simply needed to release his thoughts into the open, to let them be heard, even if it was just a single sentence.
there had been no intention to pressurize or burden you, but rather a desire to be the one offering reassurance while subtly seeking comfort himself.
in a silent plea to convince himself that he wasn't caught in a dream, he gingerly leaned his head against your shoulder, and though was making sure not to add any more damage to your wounds, he did so without a hint of regret.
your heart skipped a beat, overwhelmed by the depth of his actions. turning your attention back to him, you found solace in this unspoken gesture of support. that tender gesture conveyed a profound understanding, a connection that surpassed the boundaries of words. it was a silent reassurance; of ones comforting presence for the other, especially in the face of uncertainty.
a sentimental smile graced your features as you felt immense gratitude for his selfless deeds. even in this moment, he made sure you were as comfortable as possible, going above and beyond to provide solace. the warmth of his actions filled you with a deep sense of appreciation and reinforced the unmatched bond between you.
"..thank you,"
you whispered in a hushed breath, your voice carrying the weight of profound appreciation.
though the words seemed simple, they held within them an entire universe of gratitude—a universe that bloomed with vivid colors, dreamlike aspirations, and meaningful connections.
with a delicate grace, you lifted your hand and allowed your fingertips to dance upon the canvas of his raven tresses. each strand, like a silken thread, wove a tapestry of sensations beneath your touch.
the texture was soft and supple, akin to the gentle caress of a summer breeze. as your fingers glided through the ebony strands, you embarked on a journey of intricate care, smoothing out the knots that dared to disrupt the harmony.
in this intimate act, time seemed to suspend, creating a space where the world faded away, leaving only the two of you in a transcendent moment. your touch, as mindful as the brushstrokes of an artist, traced a path of tenderness and care. each movement held intention, a pledge to protect and cherish him, ensuring no harm would befall his vulnerable spirit.
It was a silent symphony, where the language of trust and gratitude flowed effortlessly through the whispers of your fingertips.
as you continued this tender ministration, a vibrant tapestry of emotions unfurled within the depths of your heart. gratitude, like a delicate fragrance, mingled with a sense of wonder, weaving a spellbinding combination.
the tenderness you shared painted a tableau, akin to a cherished memory, where hues of warmth, understanding, and appreciation blended harmoniously.
pleased by your touch, a contented hum escaped your companion's lips, his eyes finding solace in the comfortable embrace of closed lids.
a smile, brimming with emotions, blossomed upon their visage, a testament to the profound impact of your presence.
his heart fluttered with a bittersweet ache, caught between the beauty of the present and the uncertainty of the future.
yet, even in the face of daunting odds, a glimmer of hope persisted within him. it discreetly clung to his being, refusing to be extinguished.
it was undeniably a childlike hope, both fragile and resilient; to yearn for the possibility of a miraculous turn of events.
still, muichiro wanted to embrace that chance, to patiently wait for the magic of a future with you.

Muichiro gets jealous when another Hashira looks after you on a mission.
Tumblr media
Muichiro was sitting down leaning against a tree, not too far outside his mansion. He knew he had a long night ahead of him patrolling his area, so he took these few peaceful moments of twilight to sip some tea before heading out.
That was when he looked up to see you returning to the mansion. You had been gone out on a mission for a few days. Since you had been training so hard, you were sometimes sent on solo missions without him now.
Muichiro was proud of your improvement but he found himself occasionally worrying about you when you were gone for long periods of time. Seeing you return in one piece caused him to relax more against the tree.
"Hi Tokito!" You greeted the Hashira.
"Welcome back, how was your mission?" He asked, then grazed his eyes across you and noticed some blood on your sleeve.
"It went well I-" You started to say but Muichiro cut you off.
"You're hurt." He stated staring at the blood on your sleeve.
"Oh it's not that bad." You said trying to brush off his statement then hid your arm behind your back.
"Come here." He demanded and set down his tea.
You sat down next to him and he pulled up your sleeve to inspect the injury, but he found it had already been wrapped and tended to.
"Iguro helped me!" You said. Muichiro noticed the smile that spread across your face, and the slightest increase of your heart rate when you spoke the other Hashira's name. He had no explanation for it but he suddenly felt nauseous and hot.
"I ran into him on my mission and he taught me how to dress my wound. He said it wasn't anything big enough to go to the butterfly mansion about."
While you explained, Muichiro still had his hand on your rolled up sleeve and he stared intently at your wrapped wound while he tried to make sense of the overwhelming feeling that was coming over him. He should be grateful Obanai was there to help, but instead he felt like shoving his face in the dirt the next time he crossed paths with him. He noticed the excitement in your voice when you talked about Obanai and he couldn't help but wonder why.
"You like him?" Muichiro asked. A question that surprised you.
"Well I respect him as a Hashira of course." You answered confused by the question.
"Your heart rate increased when you spoke his name. Do you like him?" Muichiro further questioned.
"Tokito... are you... are you jealous that Iguro helped me?" You asked.
Jealous? Is that what this feeling was? Muichiro finally let go of your sleeve and looked off into the distance. What sense did being jealous make? As hard as Muichiro tried he couldn't think of a logical explanation to be jealous...
"No. What sense would being jealous make." Muichiro finally stated and looked at you.
"Hm... well ok then. I guess that means you won’t mind that I was just on my way to write Iguro a letter. I want to thank him again for staying with me through the night while I felt better." You said playfully and got up to walk away. Muichiro reached up quickly, grabbed you around your waist and pulled you down to sit between his legs. You now sat facing away from him, back resting against his chest.
"No." Was all Muichiro managed to say. He felt his body tremble in a way he did not recognize. He still wasn't understanding his own emotions, all he knew was he wanted you far away from Obanai.
"I knew it! You are jealous!" You exclaimed.
"What do you mean he stayed with you? How did he stay with you?" Muichiro asked, arms wrapped around you squeezing you tighter against him. The image in his head of you with Obanai was making him sick.
"I just meant he waited with me till I was ok to make the journey back here. What did you think I meant??"
Muichiro didn't answer but rested his head on top of yours causing his hair to cascade around you. In this position you could feel how fast his heart was racing.
"I don't like Igruo." You said hoping to help Muichiro relax. You realized now your teasing had gone too far. However, you had never seen Muichiro react this way and you wanted more insight to his true feelings for you.
"Are you still hurt? Do you need me to stay with you?" Muichiro asked.
"I'm feeling much better. I know you have to do your patrol soon, but when you get back... you know you're always welcome to stay with me... and you should know that isn't something I'd offer Iguro to do."
Muichiro was glad you were facing away from him and couldn't see the flushed color his face turned from your invitation.
"Ok. I'll stay with you when I get back, and I will teach you how to redress your wound because you're my Tsuguko."
"Yes, I'm yours Tokito." You smiled, amused by Muichiro’s sudden possessiveness over you.

"Loves me, loves me not..."
Tumblr media
Summary: Muichirou got bored waiting for you to arrive and decided to play the “loves me, loves me not” flower game. (+Mini bonus at the end)
“One cloud, two clouds, three clouds…” Muichirou murmured to himself as he patiently waited for you to arrive. The both of you had agreed to train together at his estate after you came back from your mission. As Hashiras, this was a rare opportunity as the both of you were constantly bombarded with missions and tasks. That surely had to be the reason as to why Muichirou had been looking forward to today. Since he wrote back to you, telling you that he was fine with the arrangement, he had anticipated for today to arrive.
You were taking a while to arrive though. Why were the both of you always assigned missions that were so far away from each other? Bored, Muichirou listlessly plucked at the surrounding grass. He tried recalling the contents of your letters. The both of you had agreed to exchange letters whenever possible. In your latest letter, you informed him that you should arrive at his estate at three in the afternoon. Or was it four? He couldn’t quite remember, though both felt too late and not enough to him. Strange, Muichirou wasn’t sure when was the last time that he had looked forward to someone so strongly.
He tried reasoning with himself. Training time is precious. What he was actually looking forward to was training with someone strong. It could be any other Hashira. It didn’t have to be you. Though the idea of training with anyone else but you seemed appalling to him. Perhaps it was because he felt closer to you than others. Before meeting you, his training consisted of him and only him.
An hour passed, and you had yet to arrive. Did you get lost? No, your crow would have guided you. Did he get the date wrong? No, he didn’t. Then what could be taking you so long? Slightly frustrated, Muichirou got up and wandered around his yard. He passed a patch of wild flowers. He stopped and stared at it. “What was it about flowers that the Love Hashira said… Oh yeah.” He sat down in front of the patch of flowers and plucked one.
He twisted the flower around his fingers, studying it. It was a stupid idea but he was bored and… that was it. There was another feeling within him that he just couldn’t put his finger on. It was a nagging feeling that somehow kept bringing up memories of you. Pushing away his feelings, he plucked a petal off the flower. “Loves me.” The petal fluttered down.
“Loves me not.” His heart sank a little. “Loves me.” Hope rose again. “Loves me not… Ah.” It felt as if something was clutching onto his heart tightly. There were only two petals left. His fingers hovered near the remaining two petals. It’s just a stupid game. Yet he couldn’t ignore the sinking feeling within him and bring himself to finish the game…
“Loves you!” Two fingers plucked off the remaining two petals together. Muichirou turned around in shock. He looked up to see your grinning face. “Helloo, sorry for being late! I encountered a few villagers who needed some help.” You squatted down so that the both of you were at eye level. Your free hand reached out and opened up his, your other hand placing the two petals onto his palm. “There you go, I’m sure whoever you were thinking of loves you.”
Muichirou closed his hand, clenching the two petals tightly before placing them carefully into his pocket. “I wasn’t thinking of anyone. I was just plucking off the petals out of boredom.” You snorted. “Right, I heard you murmuring ‘loves me, loves me not’ to yourself. Even if I didn’t, you shouldn’t bully flowers.” Getting up, Muichirou looked down at your squatting figure and gave you an unimpressed look. “Whatever, it was your fault for taking so long.”
You whined. “I got here as fast as I could. It’s not my fault that it’s my duty to help others.” Not replying, Muichirou turned away and walked off. Pouting exaggeratedly, you complained loudly about how mean he was. You don’t notice how the tip of his ears had turned red or how relieved he was when he heard you said “loves you”, especially when he realised that he had played that game with someone in his mind and heart.
Bonus: A few weeks later, it was your turn to wait for Muichirou to arrive at the Mist Estate for training. You wandered around his home, marvelling about how one could bear to live in such an empty house. Walking into yet another empty room, you notice a tiny frame hanging above the bed. This was the only decoration in the entire house. Upon closer inspection, you realise it was two petals framed. “Oh, I didn’t know he liked flowers.” Just then, you heard Muichirou calling your name. Leaving the room, you walked towards the voice, not realising that those were the petals you gave him.
a/n: helloo, im back with yet another drabble/oneshot! i was working on a request when i suddenly thought of this and just had to write it out!!

muichiro took a sip of his tea before placing it back down on the table between y/n and him.
“Are you lost? I don’t remember asking you to come here.”
“Well you don’t remember a lot of things so.”
y/n had a habit of mumbling things, and he tilted his head in confusion as he looked at her a little with a somewhat vexation expression.
“What did you say just now? I noticed you have a habit of whispering underneath your breathe.”
“I said: That you don’t remember a lot of things.”
“I see, your annoying and I don’t like you.”
y/n even deeper into the room and sat across the table from muichiro. she leaned in closer into his ear and whispered.
“Well I like you.”
muichiro had an expression of surprise and annoyance. he furrowed his eyebrows and looked into y/n’s eyes.
“How do you mean? Like me in the way of romantic?”
y/n almost looked surprised at his question, she blushed but kept up her ego as he kept up his poker face.
“I don’t know, maybe.”
she went further closer to him, he moved his neck down a little almost touching y/n’s nose.
“Maybe? If I really wanted to know how you felt I would want you to show me instead of telling.”
with no words y/n kissed his neck just under his jawline. he looked down at her as she looked up at him, making eye contact muichiro leaned in.
y/n waited no time and kissed him, muichiro kissed her back as he pulled away. she ran a finger up and down his chest a little as she gave him a look of lust.
“What is it?”
“We’ll do this again. Soon.”
“We’ll see.”
muichiro drank his warm tea as y/n left the room satisfied.

How would the Hashiras react to Kagaya letting (reader) another demon become a demon slayer? They were treated by Tamayo and refuses to hurt humans.
Mitsuri
Tumblr media
She treats you like she treats all the other hashira. She's kind and she treats you like a human. She knows that some of the hashira are probably giving you a hard time so she tries to be as kind and caring as possible towards you. She sees you as a human being and she considers you a close friend. However, she was shocked that the master let you fight as a hashira when you're a demon but she trusts the masters words and she believes that you won't hurt humans.
Shinobu (spoilers!)
Tumblr media
She's a bit skeptical at first. She assumed you wouldn't be a hashira for long if you refused to eat humans but as she got to know you she started to get close to you and even call you a close friend. She opened up to you about her sister and talked to you about why she hated demons. She asked you if she could run some experiments on you so she could understand why you were able to survive without human blood. She trusts you with her life and she defends you whenever one of the other hashira give you a hard time.
Giyu
Tumblr media
He doesn't really care. He doesn't have a reason to care honestly. If the master thinks you can be trusted then you can be trusted that was his only thought when you became a hashira. He avoided you like he did most of the other hashira but he didn't push you away and wasn't rude to you whenever you tried to talk to him. He found himself enjoying the small conversations he had with you and even started to think of you as a friend.
Obanai
Tumblr media
He doesn't like you. He's cold and rude to you and insults you at any chance he gets. He doesn't think you should be a hashira and thinks you are nothing but a traitor whose going to snap one day and try and attack someone. You tried to reason with him but it didn't change his view on you. The only reason he didn't try and slay you himself was because the master forbid it. So he just keeps his distance from you but whenever you do interact he's rude and he insults you.
Sanemi
Tumblr media
He doesn't like you. At all. He's worse than Obanai when it comes to talking to you. He's very open about how much he hates you and insults you whenever he can. He keeps his guard up around you because he thinks you are just pretending to not want to attack humans and he has threatened you multiple times. You knew he wouldn't actually try and slay you because of the masters orders but you tried making peace with him multiple times and while he kind of calmed down after you trying to make peace with him he still heavily dislikes you.
Tengen
Tumblr media
A demon betraying their own kind to fight for humans? He thinks you are very flashy and he trusts that you won't hurt anyone. While he had his guard up around you at first he warmed up to you pretty quickly. He went on missions with you a lot and he introduced you to his wives. Makio was suspicious of you, Hina was skeptical but she was willing to give you a chance if Tengen trusted you and Suma thought you were cool and wanted to know more about you. You made fast friends with Suma and Hinatsuru but it took Makio a little longer to warm up to you.
Muichiro
Tumblr media
He doesn't really care cause he knows he's going to forget about you. He forgot about you and when he saw a demon wearing a corps uniform he immediately pulled his sword out and started to question you. When you explained to him who you were he relaxed himself and apologized then continued on his way. He forced himself to remember that you weren't a threat so he could avoid hurting you. Even if you would heal yourself it would still be against the master's orders if he hurt you so he tried to talk to you frequently so he wouldn't forget you. And at first he only talked to you to avoid forgetting you but slowly started to talk to you because he genuinely enjoyed talking to you and spending time with you.
Kyojuro
Tumblr media
At first, he wasn't the biggest fan of it. He did what the master told him to and treated you with respect and was friendly with you but that's about it. He understands why the master wants to try and have a demon on the corps side but he just can't see it working out. With all the corps members getting injured on missions and all the blood and stuff, you're bound to snap. He stopped thinking like this once he went on a mission with you. He got to know you and started to realize that your actually not that bad and he enjoyed the time he spent with you on the mission. But he still kept his distance from you.
Thank you for your request! Have a nice day/night

“Darlin’ I fall to pieces when I’m with you, I fall to pieces.” -Lana Del Rey
Tokito never had good memory. But you were there with Lady Amane that day to save Muichiro. Sadly, it was too late for his brother. You were able to save Muichiro though, and as the adoptive daughter of the Ubuyashiki family, it had been your job to watch over Muichiro. You made sure to take him under your care, despite the two of you being the same age. He was grateful to have you there.
But slowly as time passed, he began developing memory problems that slowly but surely got worse. You tried your best to have him remember most things. You kept a planner on the wall of his room with small notes reminding him of things to do. Though the planner hadn’t been enough. He had quickly forgotten of his own past which led to him soon after forgetting you, even though you made sure to visit his estate every day.
The first time he had forgotten you, you felt heartbroken. You entered his estate for your daily check up with him. Although the moment he saw you, he turned around swiftly, staring at you with his soulless eyes.
“Who are you? What are you doing here?” The boy questioned, taking a small but intimidating step forward. Your heart dropped slightly at his words and his cold voice.
“Muichiro, it’s me. Y/n. I’ve been taking care of you for a few weeks.” You smiled gently, trying not to show the sadness you contained from him forgetting you. You knew it wasn’t his own fault but it still hurt.
“It’s Tokito. And I don’t know anyone named Y/n.” He replied while glaring at you. “I’d like for you to leave.”
A small sigh left your lips. It hurt that he had forgotten you, especially with the friendship you formed with him. “I can’t leave. Ms. Amane sent me here to check up on you. How are you feeling?” Muichiro ignored your question, picking a Bokken that was on the table beside him. He walked past you without a word.
You followed behind him silently. The two of you walked out of the estate. Muichiro ignored your presence, walking over to the training dummy, hitting it repeatedly without looking back at you. It didn’t take long for you to see the signal. So you left.
Just as every other time you visited Muichiro, you always reported back to Lady Amane. She would always ask how he was doing and you would give a full report. Of course, she was able to tell how sad you had been about him losing all his memories of his time with you.
But even with her gentle voice telling you that he would remember, you had little hope. He had already forgotten all the important people in his past. You were sure if he couldn’t remember them, there would be know way he would remember you.
After the incident that had occurred that day, you began bringing small flowers to him every time you visited. Days before Muichiro had forgotten about you, the two of you were sitting in a small field of forget me not flowers. That day, Muichiro’s memory began getting worse. And as a random promise, he held a forget-me-not flower to you, telling you that he hopes he wouldn’t forget you. That he swore he wouldn’t forget you. The promise was meaningful but he broke it.
Your efforts of hoping to get Muichiro to remember you remained hopeless. He couldn’t even remember you from the day before. And when you gave him a single forget-me-not flower, he simply threw it on a nearby table, not caring for it one bit. Then as before, demanded you to leave.
It became a habit to visit Muichiro daily. Lady Amane had told you that you no longer had to visit him, seeing as he fully recovered. But you continued the visits. And every visit you would bring forget-me-not flowers. Each one he would throw on the same table. Soon enough though, they piled up.
Muichiro began getting harsher. You remember how kind he had been before when you would visit him with Lady Amane as she told them more about the demon slayer corps. Now he had stolen the personality of his brother. He was cold and harsh. And he didn’t seem to care about anyone.
With his newly found behavior, he began also getting more irritated with you. Your constant visits while claiming the two of you know each other for him annoyed. He especially hated the way you would bring those forget-me-not flowers that just took over his un-used table.
But something deep inside of him told him not to throw those flowers away. And do he didn’t. He just let them pile up there. He would wake up every morning seeing that same pile of blue flowers. He couldn’t remember you. But whenever he looked at those flowers, you appeared in his mind. He couldn’t tell if he enjoyed it or disliked it. The feelings were conflicting.
However one day you stopped bringing the beautiful blue flowers. In fact, you stopped visiting him all together. He didn’t realize that you stopped. Something in him felt weird as it something was missing. But he didn’t once realize it was you. It had been the flowers that he noticed first. The way they stopped multiplying and the way some of them became wilted.
You would have continued your visits to the mist pillars estate. But the man you would buy your forget-me-not flowers from stopped selling them. He found it confusing that you’d visit daily and only buy one. But he was an old man and had already passed away. And his grandchildren weren’t ready to run his flower shop. With the flowers gone, you saw it as a small hint to give up on making him remember.
So instead of simply going to his estate empty handed, you returned to the Ubuyashiki estate. Amane had asked you why the visit was quick. You told her you gave up. The girl felt saddened. She knew how deeply you cared for Muichiro. But at the same time it pained her more when you would come back from your daily visits to head straight to your room. Silently crying as only a few tears left your eyes. After every visit hope slowly drained from you. The harsh words Muichiro told you not leaving your mind once.

“Will he be alright?” You asked the insect pillar while giving her a small glance. She only inspected the injured Muichiro more. He had come back from Swordsmith Village, getting caught up in a battle while visiting. Thankfully he had beheaded an Upper Moon. But now he was laying on the bed in Kocho’s estate. He was only resting but he seemed to be in such a good sleep, you weren’t sure if he’d ever wake up.
Shinobu gave you her usual smile, only more of a genuine one. She knew you cared for the other pillar. When you stopped visiting Muichiro, you began visiting her. She enjoyed your visits and she knew much about your past with the young hashira. “He’ll be fine. He’s already gotten enough rest so when he wakes, he should be feeling completely well.” Shinobu finally replied after looking over at you.
Even with her reassuring words, your worried face remained. It soon softened as the girl put her hand on your back in a soothing way.
“Well…I should get back to family now before Tokito wakes up and sees me. He already dislikes me enough.” You grimace, remembering the last time you talked to him being your very last visit. Which ended in him as usual telling you to leave while poking fun at you by calling your harsh names.
Shinobu just nodded at your words, waving goodbye as you walked out of the estate.
Suddenly, Muichiro sat up from the bed with wide eyes, startling Shinobu in the slightest. “Y/n?” The mist pillar questioned, his eyes traveling all around the room hastily searching for you.
“She’s already left. She’s heading to her estate. Kanroji informed me that you’ve regained your memories back. That’s a relief. But you better go get Y/n and apologize.” Shinobu smiled gently as Muichiro was quick to thank her. She wasn’t used to his new personality but she was glad to see him happy.
Muichiro was quick to run off to the Ubuyashiki estate. Even with his low stamina, he was focused and getting to you as soon as possible. Until he got distracted. While on his way over, he noticed a singular flower growing on the ground near the Butterfly Estates garden. A mesmerizing blue flower that he knew all too well.
Running over, he picked the small forget-me-not flower from the ground before continuing his way to the estate.
He was quick to end up right outside the estate. And outside the estate was a large garden, mainly there as you loved to tend to flowers. His eyes darted around the garden, eventually landing on you. He missed you. He missed you more than anything.
You didn’t even notice him. You were focused on watering a small bush of pink and yellow roses while humming to yourself. Muichiro felt his eyes water. He lost everyone. You were the only one he didn’t lose. And he felt horrible for treating one of the only people there for him so badly.
The moment you set the water pail to the side and dusted off your clothes, you were enveloped in a warm hug. With the amount of speed Muichiro used to run over to you, both of you ended up on the floor while you let out a small scream in shock. You assumed it to be one of your siblings. Until you looked at the person on top of you, face buried in your neck as small sobs left him.
His black and turquoise colored hair was sprawled over the grass as his hold on you got tighter. You noticed that in his right hand he was tightly holding a blue forget me not flower.
Your eyes widened before trailing back to Muichiro who finally brought moved his face away from your neck. “Tokito..?” You asked in complete confusion.
“Y/n, I’m sorry! I remember. And I’m sorry.” He spoke in a sad and practically shaky voice before bringing his right hand to you, giving you the forget me not flower. You felt tears brim the corner of your eyes. A sad smile formed on your lips before you hugged Muichiro tightly, him hugging you back but tighter.  ⋆。˚ ☁︎ ˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆⋆。˚ ☁︎ ˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆⋆。˚ ☁︎ ˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆⋆。˚ ☁︎ ˚。⋆

Usually, the Hashira never really got together after their meetings. They always had patrols, emergency missions to go to, or reports to write. So when Tengen's half-drunk ass suggested to Kyojuro for the Hashira to hang out, and after Kyojuro took the initiative to coordinate the whole thing ("It's a good morale booster!"), the pillars gathered for lunch. Kyojuro had reserved a private room in one of the most popular restaurants in the area.
However, Kyojuro realized that there were only eight of them.
"Wait a minute, where is Tokito?"
"Oh no!" Mitsuri exclaimed. "Is it possible that he forgot about this gathering?"
"There's no way he forgot. I wrote the details with semi-permanent marker on his hand," Shinobu said. "Though, I did see him walking to the opposite direction when we left the headquarter."
"He likes that small park nearby, doesn't he?" Obanai piped in.
"Maybe he did forget. We should go get him!" Mitsuri stood up from her seat and hurried to leave the restaurant, Obanai following closely right behind her.
༻❁༺
You closed your eyes and inhaled the spring air. The scent of cherry blossom was pleasant, and the sun was shining but not scorching hot. Such a perfect day to sit back and relax. You were lost in your thoughts, enjoying the nice weather, when a finger suddenly prodded your cheek gently.
"What's wrong, Mui?" You smiled, eyes still closed.
"Hmm," he mumbled, "You're sleeping?"
"No, I'm not. Why?" You finally opened your eyes and was immediately greeted by Muichiro's face, only a few inches away from yours.
Muichiro tilted his head and leaned back into his original position, arms around your torso and his head rested on your shoulder.
You cooed at him and caressed his cheek. It's one of your most favorite thing about Muichiro, his soft cheeks. You remember the first time he let you touch them, how you felt so warm and fuzzy all over your body.
You've always adored Muichiro ever since you first saw him in the Butterfly Mansion. You were assigned to take care of him when he came back from a mission. Every day for almost three weeks, you delivered his meals, changed his bandages, gave him his medicines. He never started a conversation, but one day you entered his room and he stared at you with wide eyes.
"You... Do I know you?"
You were aware of his memory loss, so you answered him kindly. "Yes, I always bring you food and medicines."
"...Deer."
"I'm sorry?"
"You're like a deer."
You didn't quite understand what he meant, so you just continued to give him his meds and talked about the weather outside.
Muichiro often visited the Butterfly Mansion for his check-ups with Shinobu. You weren't always around, busy doing your chores. So, you were really intrigued (as well as Shinobu) because apparently Muichiro often asked where you were. Muichiro didn't know your name so he referred you as "Deer Nurse". Everyone knew you were assigned to be Muichiro's caretaker, so they knew who he was referring to. (Shinobu ended up telling him your name, because he wouldn't stop calling you Deer Nurse).
Eventually, you started waiting for his visits. Every time he's in the Mansion, you dropped whatever chores you had and stopped by to greet him.
"Hello, Muichiro-san!" "Nice weather, isn't it, Muichiro-san?" "How did your last mission go, Muichiro-san?"
You called him Muichiro-san even though he's a year younger than you, out of respect. He didn't react much to your cheerful remarks, but he did answer them.
"Hello, (Y/N)." "It's too sunny." "Huh... I don't know..."
Sitting under the tree had been one of things you started doing after knowing Muichiro. One day you found him under a tree, sleeping as he waited for Shinobu to finish her other business. You curiously sat close next to him, muttering 'good afternoon, Muichiro-san' and accompanied him. He woke up surprised. Not only he didn't sense you coming closer in his sleep, his head was also on your shoulder. You assured him it was fine and you just wanted to keep him company. Muichiro didn't react much, but his mind was racing. He didn't understand why he wasn't aware of your presence in his sleep, why he was leaning on you, why he remembered your face, why he even remembered your name...
...why he wanted to see you every time he's in the Mansion.
Muichiro didn't understand that he was having a tiny crush on you. What started as a tiny crush began growing, getting bigger and bigger. Because you were always there for him, waiting for him with a smile, eager to tell him about things you did or learned while he's away. He didn't understand why his heart was beating fast every time you're around. He noticed those things and reported this to Shinobu.
"...I think I'm going to die."
"What made you think that way?" Shinobu asked.
"My heart races faster than it usually does... and I'm sweaty."
"Do those symptoms occur almost every day?"
"...no, only when I'm..." His eyes widened before he could finish his sentence. Shinobu quickly picked up what caused the young pillar to come to her today, despite not having a check-up appointment.
"Yes, Tokito-kun?"
"...I have to go..."
"Sure. I believe (Y/N) is hanging the laundry outside."
Muichiro didn't even bother to say anything to Shinobu, he just bolted outside her office and made his way to you.
You were hanging the last two sheets that you just washed, thinking about the next chores you were supposed to do. It had been cloudy the past few days, and you just hoped it wouldn't rain that day.
A small, slim hand grabbed your elbow and you yelped in shock.
"W-what..."
"(Y/N), I think like you."
You tilted your head to one side, Muichiro followed. "Muichiro... san?"
"Do you like me?"
Your face turned red. Did you like him? You actually asked yourself that question, again and again. Did you actually like Muichiro? If you're being honest with yourself, you did. That's why you always made time to see him whenever he's visiting the Mansion. That's also why you decided to sit next to him that one time, under the tree when he was taking a nap. However you weren't quite sure, mainly because of two things:
One, you didn't know if he's actually ready for a relationship, considering his job and his memory loss. You thought it could be quite difficult, dating Muichiro. He might not know what to do, he might even forgot that he's dating you. You weren't sure if you're patient enough for that.
Two, you didn't want to lose him. You were aware of his position as one of the pillars. You were aware of how dangerous this job was. You had witnessed many lifeless body brought to the mansion, either for autopsy or for getting cleaned up before the coffin was sent to their family's homes. You didn't want to open a coffin one day and saw the person you've loved and cherished the most lying inside it.
But staring right into his wide eyes, knowing that he meant what he said, all of your doubts and fears were washed away. Muichiro had became an important part of your life in just a few months. He remembered your name, remembered a few things about you, remembered a few things that you liked. Little did you know, he remembered more things about you than he did with anyone else.
"I... do like you."
Muichiro didn't say anything. Instead, he lift his hands, reaching out to cup your face. His eyes were still wide open as he traced his thumbs on your cheek.
"My heart... it's beating faster again."
You chuckled, "Are you happy, Muichiro-san?"
"I think so..."
You knew he probably wasn't familiar with the feeling, so you just smiled. "Can I hug you, then? My heart is also beating faster."
"Yes."
You slowly pulled him into a hug, giving him the time if he wanted to pull away. But Muichiro didn't move, he let you engulfed him in a warm embrace. You could feel his heart beating fast and so could he.
"Does this mean you're mine, (Y/N)?"
"If that's what you really want."
"I want you."
"Then, I'm yours."
"What are you thinking about?"
You snapped out of your thoughts, reminiscing the day Muichiro kind of asked you out.
"Nothing," you answered, looking down to his mint orbs. "It's been a year since you asked me out, Mui."
"Oh... really?" He hummed. "I didn't know..."
"Well, now you know." You pecked his forehead. "I'm happy you did, Mui."
"...You are?"
"Yeah, I'm happy being with you." You hugged him even tighter. "Not gonna lie, I wasn't happy when you said you want to keep our relationship a secret. But, I know that you're just trying to keep us safe."
Muichiro sighed and buried his face on your chest. "One day."
"Hmm? What was that?"
"One day we will live together."
"Ah..."
You couldn't help but imagining a brighter future. No demon, no more fighting. You could maybe get a comfortable, little house on the mountain with Muichiro. Maybe his memory would improve, maybe he'd remember your anniversary date and bought delicious food from the town nearby.
"Yeah, we'll live together."
Muichiro hummed and sighed, content with the warmth of your embrace. "I like you, (Y/N)."
"I like you too, Mui."
Maybe it's too early for the two of you to say the word "love", but it's okay. You still have a long way to go.
Unbeknownst to you and Muichiro, two figures watched from afar as the two of you held each other close under the cherry blossom. Mitsuri was covering her mouth with her hands, trying so hard to suppress a squeal. Meanwhile, Obanai stood next to her, his usually sharp eyes grew soft at the sight of you two. So young and full of love.
"Good for him." He murmured. He really hoped the two of you make it until the end.
"Iguro-san, what should we do? They're so cute... but the lunch!" Mitsuri clutched his striped haori. "Oh, but they're so precious... I think they're asleep..."
Obanai turned around and started walking away. "Let them be. I don't think the kid would want to leave, anyway."
Mitsuri finally squealed once they were far enough from the two of you. "I wanna cry, Iguro-san! They're so lovely! What are we going to say to the others, though?"
"...Just tell them we couldn't find Tokito."
"Eh?! But we did find him, though..."
"You never heard Tokito mentioning anything about his partner, right?"
"Oh, that's right..."
"He might want to keep it a secret. For their own safety."
"You're right... Oh, I hope nothing but the best for them."
Obanai nodded, "They deserve the best."

Muichiro helps you with small tasks when you're injured
"Done. Just remember not to do anything vigorous that may reopen the wound again", Shinobu said whilst finishing up on the bandaging of your hand. You looked at the clean new bandages that were neatly wrapped across your right hand and recalled the incident that had caused it to get injured in the first place - your sword broke in the middle of a fight with a demon and with no other weapons left to block its next attack, you put your hand in front of you and the demon's fangs sank straight through your flesh.
Great. Due to this injury, not only are you not able to train properly for a little more than a week but it would also hinder with your lifestyle and make simple tasks just so much more difficult than it should have been.
As you stepped into you and muichiro's shared estate you wondered if he was around to help you with some menial tasks but seeing as to how quiet the place was you assumed that he was out on another mission and decided to take a bath before making dinner for the two of you.
You stepped out of the shower feeling even more tired than you were when you went in due to the inability of your right hand. You then walked over to your dressing table and picked up the blow dryer to try and dry your hair before your shirt got drenched by it. As you turned the power for the dryer on, the dryer was gently taken from your hand.
Gentle teal eyes gazed into yours through the mirror as muichiro gathered some of your hair and started to help you blow them dry.
"I'll help you with that", he said, a small smile adorning his face.
"Ah muichiro you don't have to.."
"I want to.", he said firmly, locking eyes with you before his attention went back to your hair. You felt your cheeks starting to heat up as you stared at him combing through your hair with such gentility as though if he put too much pressure you'll break.
He noticed your staring but made no comments on it. He was too focused on the fragrance that your shampoo had left on your hair. After a few minutes, he combed through your hair for another time to make sure that your hair was no longer wet before placing the dryer on the table and turning the power off.
"Hey, I'm done", he said placing his hands on your shoulders.
This caused you to snap out of your daze; how long have you been staring?
"Thanks mui I really appreciate it", you replied, grabbing a rubber band before turning to him and flashing him a smile that made him feel warm inside. He looked at the band in your hand and took it from your hand again.
"Mui you have to stop doing that, and anyways I am more than capable of tying my hair up by myself. Its not even going to put any stress on my hand.", you groaned as you got up and tried to snatch the band back from his hand
"You are injured and I want you to get better as quickly as possible. So until then, I will help you with these small tasks whether you like it or not."
You sighed knowing there was no changing his mind due to how stubborn he was and sat back down.
"Do you even know how to tie another person's hair?", you questioned, trying to remember any instances where you have seen muichiro holding or using a hairband.
"I have not used one before.. but it cant be too hard"
He collected all your hair and bundled it together before using the band to hold it in place. You watched in amusement as his brows furrowed in concentration.
"Slaying demons are easier than this.. ", he mumbled to himself.
After he was done, you looked at your bun. Although it was very messy and had untied hair strewn about everywhere, the effort that he put in was evident and that made your heart flutter.
"Thank you mui. I'll cook dinner now to thank you for all the hard work you have done today hm?", you said while giving him a kiss on his cheek before dragging him out of the room towards the dining area. However he continued to follow you into the kitchen.
"I want to hel- "
"No mui. You have done more than enough for me today and I want to make this dinner to thank you for everything", you interrupted trying to make your stand clear by raising your tone.
"I must be a demon if I let the one I love do something like this by themself when they are injured, so no, we will make this dinner together", muichiro said gently grasping your hands while looking at you with nothing but love and adoration in his eyes. You couldn't find it in yourself to say no once more and sighed.
"Okay, let's start before you get your next mission"

| You get lost on your way to muichiros mansion |
Tumblr media
The Demon Slayer headquarters falls in slumber as the glorious night sky rises, painting the heavens with stars gleaming in its cloak of darkness alongside with the crescent shaped moon gloriously ruling above them. Other than by the roaring sound of the forest farways, the Mist Hashira is still training. Alone, he trains with the silence and his mind becomes one with the blade he moves in fluid movements. The nocturnal hour is the perfect time for him to concentrate.
His concentration was broken off when your kasugai crow perched on his shoulders. Its beak holding a letter, muichiro instantly recognised the crow and greeted it, before taking the letter from its beak. Inside, the letter wrote-
__________________________________________
Dear muichiro, I have decided to visit your mansion tomorrow to check up on you ! I will come at 10am sharp. Thank you for taking your time to read this letter. And have a nice night.
Signed by yours truly,
Y/n.
__________________________________________
Muichiro smiled at the thought of you coming over to his mansion tomorrow. He was contemplating if he should write back and state that he has approved of your visit. But while he was wondering, your kasugai crow already flew away to return back to you.
He later on forgot about the idea of writing back and continued on training as usual. And after he did, he just went and took a shower before sleeping.
The next morning, you woke up at 8 am . Okay you slept in a little and woke up at 8.05 am-
But that didn't stop you from remembering that you were gonna visit muichiro ! You quickly got up and changed out of your clothes. You were confident that you weren't going to get lost, not this time !! Hopefully....
You skipped your way to muichiro's house, following the path while humming to yourself. Thoughts started flooding into your mind as you think to yourself, " I haven't seen muichiro in so long... I wonder how is he doing..." you were being worried about his wellbeing until, something caught your eye.
You walked towards the field of flowers that caught your eyes. You didn't see these at all when you visited muichiro last time, did they grow because it is spring ? You thought to yourself. You explored the field of flowers and you noticed the way the sun reflects off the flowers and the smell the flowers gives off. It was relaxing...
Some time has passed, it was already 10 am. Muichiro has gotten worried that you may had gotten lost again because you always get lost. He set off looking for you. He was very worried as you may have gotten kidnapped ? You may have injured yourself on the way ?
The thoughts slowly got worse as the number of possible scenarios he is thinking of is becoming worse and worse.
Meanwhile... while you were admiring the flowers, you suddenly remembered " Ah...I forgot I had to visit muichiro " As you looked around, your mind went blank thinking " Where the heck am I...." Your surrounding area was all just flowers. You were lost.
Suddenly, a pair of hands covered your eyes, you were shocked at first but eventually knew who it was. " Ah !! Muichiro !! " you said grinning with your eyes still covered.
"Idiot...you know I was worried about what may had happened to you ? " wall all he said before turning you around and giving you a kiss on the forehead. "Now come on, let's go. ," he said before carrying you to his mansion.

MUICHIRO TOKITO—or the mist pillar, rather—had always been renowned for his airheaded demeanor, a demeanor that rendered him unapproachable by many.
truly, he was a man of difficult reach, his impassive countenance instilling fear in those who approached.
so, picture this—imagine the bewilderment one’s face would have when they catch sight of him smiling and giggling like the young boy he actually is.
you were his exception, the one capable of dismantling this wall with the mere weight of your words.
he, somewhat, held a belief that a human's words held paramount importance.
but yours, oh, yours were simply too profound.
yes, you read that correctly.
even before tanjiro, you had the fortune of uncovering muichiro’s lovely hidden interior.
he had even consistently made it abundantly clear that he would go to great lengths to ensure your safety.
what an extraordinary accomplishment! and as long as it wasn't a mere dream—which you knew it wasn't—evidenced by muichiro’s tendency to embrace you with affection, a sight many envy.
pay no heed to their jealousy. just stand proud, for you are his one and only.
in this regard, you are truly beyond lucky.
you are his favorite, after all. aren’t you?

You help Muichiro brush his hair after a long training session as his tsuguko.
Tumblr media
It had been a long day of training, and coming back to the mansion you were ready for a well deserved rest.
"Thank you for the training session today Master Tokito. "You said turning around to face Muichiro.
"No need to thank me. That is simply my job." He said plainly. While he spoke, you noticed he was running his fingers through his hair and getting caught with tangles. You watched a few more moments as he continued to fuss with his fair. You weren't surprised he had so many tangles in his hair after the training session you two had today, but it made you flinch as you watched him roughly rip through tangles trying to ger his hair orderly again.
"Would you like some help?" You offered.
"Hm?" Muichiro turned his attention from his hair to you. "I suppose that would be helpful." He said and sat down on the floor in the entry room. You grabbed a comb and sat down behind him. You offered before you thought through what that would mean.
Sitting behind the Hashira you now began to feel nervous to touch him. You took a second to gather your thoughts. It's just hair you told yourself nothing to be too worked up about, but you had always admired Muichiro's hair and you'd be lying if you didn't admit the thought of caring for him made you nervous.
"You have really beautiful hair Tokito." You said trying to strike up a conversation to ease your nervousness as you carefully started on the ends slowly working through any tangles.
"Thanks." The Hashira replied then fell silent again. You should have known better. Muichiro wasn't much of a talker. You continued to slowly work your way through his hair carful not to pull too hard on any tangles and cause him discomfort.
Not that he couldn't handle pain, but you wanted to make sure to be gentle. Some time passed and Muichiro hadn't said anything, so you continued almost finishing up combing out all the tangles.
"You know it's good practice to comb your hair multiple times a day." You said finally breaking the silence, but Muichiro didn't respond. "Not that your hair needs any help it's perfects as is." You added quickly hoping you did not accidently offed him.
"Hm?" You heard him exclaim the quiver. "My apologizes I must have dozed off. What did you say?"
"Nothing important. I finished your hair should feel much nicer now." You said getting up. The Hashira didn't move.
"Are you ok Tokito?" You asked. Muichiro turned to look up at you.
"Are you sure you finished?" He said.
"Um I think so... does it feel like I missed something?"
"No, I suppose not." He said turning his gaze froward and closing his eyes. You were used to his usual spaciness but this seemed abut out of the ordinary.
"Did you... want me to check to make sure? You asked wondering if maybe he was enjoying the nurturance of you combing through his hair.
"Yes" He said, and you could have sworn you saw the smallest of smiles flash on his face. It wasn't often you saw Muichiro's face give off any emotions.
You sat back down behind him and began to comb through is hair again. This time going from top all the way to the bottom now that there wasn't any tangles to worry about. It wasn't long before you noticed the Hashira's breathing become deeper again.
"Muichiro?" You said gently, but he did not response. This confirmed your suspicions that the Hashira had fallen asleep again.
"I'll comb your hair anytime you want." You said softly, hoping somewhere in his unconsciousness he would hear and remember.

Taking care of Muichirou when he is sick
Tumblr media
Summary: Muichirou caught a cold after not listening to you and you had to take care of him (+Bonus)
His form and movements were precise and perfect as always. To anyone else, nothing about his seemingly stoic appearance seemed off. You knew though. You weren’t anyone else; you were the “stubborn Tsukugo who enjoys being tormented”. His lips had paled ever so slightly. His eyes weren’t their usual mint green. His skin was less glossy. This has been going on for more than a week and you saw that signs were starting to get worse. Muichirou was sick.
After your usual training session, you observed him silently. Muichirou continued on with his habit of wiping his sword, sheathing it before proceeding to his own physical training. You contemplated telling him your “findings” and suggesting he visit the Butterfly Estate. Were you overreacting though? Perhaps he was just affected by the heat and not his health. Well, it wouldn’t hurt too much if you asked him just in case right? You stared at him, a minute had barely passed, he was already completing 146 push-ups and continuing without any obvious signs of discomfort or pain. “Hey, are you, like, sick or unwell?”
Not pausing his training, he replied, “No.” Ah, well, if he said so. You still didn’t quite believe him since this was the same person who was said to have nearly trained himself to death but decided not to push it any further.
After completing your break, you started on your own workouts too. 2147 sit-ups later, you heard the sound of thunder cracking and saw lightning flash. Picking up your pace, you tried to at least reach 2200 sit-ups before seeking shelter in the Mist Estate. Moments later, rain poured down. Groaning, you hurriedly got up and rushed into the estate. Your training had been disturbed but at least you could continue in the estate.
Finding a suitable spot, you were about to continue when you notice Muichirou still outside practising his stances and swinging his sword repeatedly. A thunderstorm is currently taking place and yet he still continues training outside. “You’ll get sick. Come in and find another way to train.” You were ignored.
The day continued on as usual. You continued with your usual workout in the estate while Muichirou continued with his training outside the estate and under the rain. You went to bed and so did he. You woke up the next day fine. He didn’t.
You knew immediately because your room was facing his. Upon opening your bedroom door, you noticed two very wrong things. One, his bedroom door was closed. Muichirou always wakes up before you and only closes his door when he’s inside. Two, you heard loud coughing coming from his room. You knocked twice on his door before sliding it open, not waiting for any response.
Muichirou was lying on his mattress, curled up in a foetal position and coughing heavily. God, why don’t people listen to you when you bring up good points? Makes you wonder who the stubborn ones really are. Pushing his fringe away, you lay the back of your hand against his forehead. He was burning. “Stop touching me, I can handle myself.” Muichirou pushed your hand away. You snorted.
“Don’t bother, hold on, I’ll be back soon.” Despite his previous protest, he made no effort to stop you from whatever you were going to do. Leaving his room, you mutter to yourself about how you had no idea how to care for sick people, much less stubborn and idiotic ones. Drenching a towel in a bowl of cold water, you brought the bowl to his room. Setting the bowl down, you sat down and squeezed the towel before folding it neatly and placing it on Muichirou's forehead. “What are you doing?” Swatting his hand that was reaching for the towel away, you glared at him. “Stop it, you’re clearly sick and dying. Don’t you dare refuse my efforts to care for you.”
“I’m not dying.” You replied instantly, “To be fair, everyone is dying.” Silence. Triumphantly, you smiled. You knew he would say that and prepared a response beforehand. “Now, lie still and quietly while I write a letter to the Butterfly Estate for advice on how to care for sick, stubborn dummies.”  No response, you’ll take that as a win too. Laughing internally, you left his room and went to yours.
A few minutes later, your crow was flying off to the Butterfly Estate. Returning to Muichirou’s room, you note that he was lying still and silently. Muichirou stared at the ceiling with a blank expression. Unsure what else you were supposed to do, you leaned forward and looked down at him. His eyes refocus on your face. You grin. “I’ve sent a letter, I’ll be training in my room. If you need me, just call for me. I’ll check up on you and adjust the towel every once in a while.” Pausing, you remembered that the both of you had yet to eat. “Oops, I forgot about breakfast. Hold on, let me see what I can do.”
“I’m not hungry.” So insistent on ruining his health. “Nonsense, your body is fighting for its life, it needs food and that’s final.” Sticking your tongue out at him, you walk to the kitchen. Hands on each side of your waist, you looked at the food supply. “Wonderful, I have no idea what to make that wouldn’t make him sicker.” For the briefest of brief moments, you think about just knocking Muichirou out.
No, you don’t trust yourself enough to not accidentally somehow kill him by hitting the wrong spot. And if you did somehow manage to not kill or induce a coma, you knew he would immediately cut your head off. You liked where your head is and would like it to remain that way. If only he listened to you! None of this would have happened and you wouldn’t have to figure out a way to not give your master food poisoning while he was sick. “Porridge. Sick people can consume porridge right? That’s just watery rice and some other stuff right?” You bit your bottom lip, considering the risks of carrying out a freestyle recipe.
You were sure an eternity had passed when you finally entered Muichirou’s room with a steaming bowl of porridge and a glass of water. The glass of water was probably unnecessary but he didn’t need to know that. Muichirou turned his head and looked at you as you carefully set the tray containing his breakfast on the floor. “I thought you left the estate.” You definitely took a while to prepare his breakfast then.
“I considered it for a while but that would be too cruel.” You scooped a small portion of the porridge and blew on it lightly. “Say ‘ahh’.” Muichirou opened up his mouth and swallowed. You were fist pumping in your mind, he did not resist!  Repeating your actions, you smiled at him. He swallowed the food again but decided to object to your help again, “I can feed myself.” Ignoring his protest, you continued feeding him. “Perhaps, but you were also the one who insisted on training under the rain.” Muichirou looked away.
Once you were done feeding him, you grinned, proud that he didn’t get poisoned and willingly accepted your help. Drenching and twisting his towel, you folded it neatly and placed it on his forehead like before. Picking up the tray, you smiled at him and got up. “Alright so like I said before, just let me know if you need anything, otherwise I’ll check up on you every once in a while.” Inhaling a deep breath, you cheered yourself on. Taking care of sick patients scares you. It always feels as if their future depended on your every move and decision. Sliding his door open, you left and slid it shut.
Now alone in his room, Muichirou turned to look at the closed door. He really shouldn’t remain idle and get up and start training. He really shouldn’t let this fever of his deter him from his duty. He really shouldn’t enjoy you caring for him as much as he does. And yet he remained as he was. Muichirou tried reasoning with himself. He couldn’t quite remember when he started feeling unwell, perhaps he had been pushing himself for more than a week and yesterday was his last straw. Thinking back to when you had asked if he was sick, he remembered feeling a little shock. Used to ignoring his symptoms, he had forgotten that he was sick. How did you know though? He was sure after numerous times of pushing himself to his limit even when sick, his body had started to give up in showing signs of sickness.
Perhaps the Butterfly Hashira would have been able to tell since she was an expert in the field of medicine and doubled as a doctor. But you clearly had trouble caring for the sick so how was it that you were able to notice? He couldn’t recall much but he was sure that you were already aware of his illness when it started and chose to not comment on it. He recalled feeling your questioning stares and observing looks, your concern written clearly in your expressions. Your absence left his room so silent, allowing him to lose himself in drifting from thought to thought.
His door slid open. Muichirou turned to look at and saw you standing there, holding a letter. “Helloo, how are you feeling? I just received Kochou-sama’s response, she said that it might just be a bad cold and resting for the rest of the day and drinking warm water would help! Look, she even wrote a short and quick recipe since I said I sucked at cooking for stubborn patients!” You grin at him. Muichirou stared at you silently, not sure why you were so cheery all the time. “She said that I did good in caring for you and drew a smiley-face!” Pointing at the corner of the letter, you waited for a reaction from him. Receiving none, you whined exaggeratedly, “Not that I agree, but I can see why people call me a stubborn idiot who enjoys torture. Your silent treatments are killing me. One day, I’ll tell Oyakata-sama that you keep bullying me and ask to be Kanroji-san’s Tsukugo.” You stuck your tongue out and blew a raspberry at him.
“Who called you a stubborn idiot?” That was not the response you were expecting. Tilting your head to the side, you looked up as you tried to recall the mean comments you constantly overheard. “I’m not sure. It’s mostly just overheard gossip but there’s always this weird girl with like, blue pigtails and red eyes that keeps giving me dirty looks. I think she’s just jealous because she’s always saying how if she was my rank she would apply to be your Tsukugo and kick me out.” Snorting at the ridiculousness of it all, you laughed. “You would like that wouldn’t you? I think she has a crush on you and would totally do whatever you wanted and not laugh at you.”
“No. She sounds like someone who wouldn’t work hard. You’re annoying but you’re hardworking.” Ignoring the insult, you focused on his compliment. His first ever compliment to you. “Aww, I didn’t know you could be so sweet. You should get sick more often and maybe you would be more charming!” Muichirou looked at you plainly, unimpressed. “I’m a Hashira. My job is to kill demons and train you, not be charming.” Waving your hand, you rolled your eyes and smiled. “I know, I know. I was just kidding. Don’t worry, I respect your determination. It’s honestly impressive.” Not responding, Muichirou turned away.
Assuming that meant that your one-sided conservation was over, you got ready to leave his room again. Hearing you getting up, Muichirou turned back and looked at you. “Wait. Don’t go yet.” You turned back and looked at him confused. He wasn’t sure what to say, he didn’t mean to call for you. “... You haven't changed my towel yet.” An unimpressed look crossed your face as you wet his towel and placed it on his forehead.
Relishing the way your cool palm would brush his fringe away and place the cool, folded towel on his forehead, Muichirou blurted again, “Thank you, I like the way you care for me.” Your hand froze and you stared at him. Pinching his cheeks, you looked at him seriously. “Who is this and what have you done to my master?” Pushing your hands away, Muichirou glared at you. “Stop it, I didn’t mean to say that.” You raised your eyebrows but decided not to say anything else.
The moment you closed the door, Muichirou allowed himself to cringe at his earlier behaviour. It wasn’t like him to be so… sentimental. This illness and your concern was really getting to him. And yet despite everything he told himself, he couldn’t wait for you to come back to check up on him again.
Bonus: A few weeks after his recovery, Muichirou was walking back to the Mist Estate when he heard someone calling his name. It was a stranger. She waved her hands wildly and ran up to him. “Oh my gosh! Are you Tokito Muichirou, the Mist Hashira? I’m Yua and it’s a pleasure to finally meet you!” The girl’s blue pigtails bounced and her red eyes shone as she reached excitedly to grasp Muichirou’s hands. With a look of disgust, Muichirou took a stride back and extracted his sword, pointing it at Yua. “Don’t touch me, you low rank. Just by looking at you, I can tell that you don’t even deserve to gossip about others.” He paused. “Much less ones who deserve the titles they earned with their own hard work.” Not willing to spend anymore time with Yua, Muichirou turned away and walked off. Gossiping about others? How did he know that that girl, who’s name he has already forgotten, had gossiped about his Tsukugo? He heard a faint voice in his head and a blurry image appeared in his mind – You were gently dabbing his face with a cool cloth as your hand caressed his face. You were quietly whispering to yourself, “Sometimes I wonder if I deserve to be your Tsukugo. Maybe others are right and I’m just wasting your time. But looking at how angelic you look, how can I bear to leave you?” He wasn’t quite sure if that was a fever dream or how he even remembered but he felt his cheeks heating up.
a/n: sobbing, i tried my best but it wasnt as cute as i wanted it to be!! i tried my best to not make mui ooc but at the same time making the scenes cute but i think i just spent too much time on their banter and unnecessary stuff and not enough on you caring for a sick muichirou :'( + i think many stuff are probably incorrect and i want to yeet myself now im so sorry oml

warnings: none pure fluff - enjoy ^^ (small photo i edited)
Tumblr media
♡︎♥︎————————————————————♥︎♡︎
☁︎︎ at first he’s kind of shy but ofc makes an effort to be with you and keep the relationship
☁︎︎ when he is finally 100% comfortable (which doesn’t take long) he will intentionally hold your hand or occasionally find ways to just touch you
☁︎︎ pda? he doesn’t mind as long as your not “MUI MUI” he likes gentle pda and even when the two of you are alone
☁︎︎ when the both of you aren’t on a mission you two pass time by hanging around the butterfly mansion (specifically in shinobu’s office) to make origami ofc and paper planes
☁︎︎ if you fall asleep believe that you’ll wake up to loads of paper planes around you from when muichiro was throwing them at your face so he can see your nose scrunch (he fell asleep too lol)
☁︎︎ only blushes around you. as we know while watching the new season he doesn’t get flustered easily (unlike genya) lol
☁︎︎ cuddling with him is always a must, especially if he has a bad day or he just wants to hold you. but like when he wraps his arms around you (while big spoon) he will hold your hands over the pillow intertwined together
☁︎︎ watching the clouds or day pass is an everyday thing for you two, always laying on the grass staring up and pointing to clouds you guys think look cool
☁︎︎ kissing with mui is very light and soft, ofc you make the first move when it comes to kissing like real kissing but he will initiate small kisses like he kisses you in between your eyes just above your nose to see it scrunch up again
☁︎︎ you also like to give him small kisses like that except a little there, a little over there, a little everywhere. and he ABSOLUTELY loves it he doesn’t know where your gonna kiss him next (not in a dirty way of whatever your thinking lmao)
☁︎︎ like i was saying you’ll kiss his forehead, cheek, close to his nose, neck, collar bones, hands, jaw, etc. and he silently fanboys over it all the time
☁︎︎ dates with him are simple, a walk, maybe dinner? and or he will even make you a bouquet of flowers out of paper cause he is amazing like that
♡︎♥︎————————————————————♥︎♡︎
- hope you enjoyed and please excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes, thank you!

Wondering if I could get a muichiro x clingy reader
Literally clinging onto him at every given chance, even in public
Thank you for the request! I hope it isn't a problem that I wrote headcanons instead of an actual story!
This won't be platonic
Tokito Muichiro x Clingy reader (headcanons)
Everyone wonders by now if you two are dating or not...
You two are literally always together at any given time. Mostly because you are always clinging to him. Muichiro himself doesn't really mind.
Well you think so because he never really said anything about it.
You're the same age so it was kind of easy to become in good terms with him.
Even at Hashira meetings you're either holding his hand or holding into his uniform.
Mitsuri is always looking at you mumbling something to herself, blushing-
You also take naps together under trees or watch the clouds together.
Muichiro was talking with Tanjiro once and of course you were by his side hugging his shoulders. Tanjiro even asked if you're together but Muichiro just shrugged. It seemed like he wasn't sure about it?
It's rare to see you and him not together. If you are apart then it's likely because one of you are on a seperate mission.
Soon you weren't just holding his hand or shoulders but just straight up hugging him.
Both of eachothers preseance made you feel calm.
Muichiro isn't really good with emotions so he couldn't really figure out what was really going on between you.
Tumblr media
I'm really sorry this was really short!! I wrote this in school so I didn't have much time. But I hope that you like it even tho it's so short-
I have quite a lot going on in school rn bc it's the last week so I can't be that active.
