Radha - Krishna duel

Once Kṛṣṇa became a boatman and offered Śrī Rādhā and Her girlfriends a ride to cross the river Yamunā. Following is Their sweet and witty conversation that took place on the shore of the river, wherein Śrī Rādhikā expertly engaged in a Sanskrit verbal duel and defeated the Lord of Her life- Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

uttiṣṭhārāt tarau me taruṇi mama taroḥ śaktir ārohaṇe kā sākṣād ākhyāmi mugdhe taraṇim iha raver ākhyayā kā ratir me |

vārteyaṁ nau-prasaṅge katham api bhavitā nāvayoḥ saṅgamārthā vārtāpīti smitāsyaṁ jita-girim ajitaṁ rādhayārādhayāmi ||

Kṛṣṇa: “He Taruni, O beautiful young girl, quickly board My tarī (boat).”

Rādhā replied (taking tarī as taru in Sanskrit, or tree): “I have no strength to climb a tree.”

Kṛṣṇa: “He Mugdhe, O foolish girl, I mean taraṇi (boat).”

Rādhā (taking tarani as ‘sun’ in Sanskrit): “The sun? I do not even want to climb a tree, and You are talking about going to the sun?”

Kṛṣṇa: “I am not talking about the sun. I am talking about nau, the boat.”

Rādhā (taking nau to mean ‘Us’): “Don’t even think about the two of Us getting together.”

I worship the unconquerable Ajita Kṛṣṇa, who smiled gently as Śrī Rādhā soundly defeated Him in this delightful verbal duel, leaving Him speechless.

Swami Prabhupada was born on September 1, 1896 to a pious Hindu family in Calcutta. As a youth growing up in British-controlled India. It was, however, a 1922 meeting with a prominent scholar and religious leader, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, which proved most influential on his future calling. He became his disciple in 1933.

Swami Prabhupada, spent the next 32 years preparing for his journey west.

He entered the port of New York City on September 17, 1965. He was on a mission to introduce the ancient teachings of Vedic India into mainstream America. On July 11, 1966, he officially registered his organization in the state of New York, formally founding the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. He passed away on November 14, 1977 at the age of 81.

भ्रातृ द्वितीया (भाई दूज) कार्तिक मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की द्वितीया तिथि को मनाया जाने वाला हिन्दू धर्म का पर्व है जिसे यम द्वितीया भी कहते हैं। यह दीपावली के दो दिन बाद आने वाला ऐसा पर्व है, जो भाई के प्रति बहन के स्नेह को अभिव्यक्त करता है एवं बहनें अपने भाई की खुशहाली के लिए कामना करती हैं।

#कार्तिक शुक्ल द्वितीया को पूर्व काल में #यमुना ने यमराज को अपने घर पर सत्कारपूर्वक भोजन कराया था। उस दिन नारकी जीवों को यातना से छुटकारा मिला और उन्हें तृप्त किया गया। वे पाप-मुक्त होकर सब बंधनों से छुटकारा पा गये और सब के सब यहां अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार सन्तोषपूर्वक रहे। उन सब ने मिलकर एक महान् उत्सव मनाया जो यमलोक के राज्य को सुख पहुँचाने वाला था। इसीलिए यह तिथि तीनों लोकों में यम द्वितीया के नाम से विख्यात हुई।

जिस तिथि को यमुना ने यम को अपने घर भोजन कराया था, उस तिथि के दिन जो भाई अपनी बहन के हाथ का उत्तम भोजन करता है उसे उत्तम भोजन समेत धन की प्राप्ति भी होती हैं।
