Nothing hones in the message of Sky like the days of bloom for me.
Death is inevitable, you can never escape Eden, it looms over almost every area in the game, sometimes subtle, but always present
The trees quickly grow to their full size in front of your eyes, but just as soon as they reach their full bloom, glowing beautifully, they start to decay
There's nothing you can do, its not your fault. Its just the say nature goes, all that blooms must wither
But still. There's this feeling of dread that never goes away, this feeling that time is rushing by way to quick, the end coming way to fast

Did I ever actually post my crazy theory that once all the fighting is over Mori will come to take an ADA member and be like "ok so I might've lied to you Yosano I'll be taking this other member-"
And Fukuzawa will sip his tea and say "guess I'll be keeping Akutagawa then."
And Mori will be like "What"
And Fukuzawa will be like "What? He died for Atsushi. He passed the test. He's my Akutagawa now."
And Mori will be like "Rats!! Foiled again!!" and swear to kill them one day as he and Akutagawa blast off like Team Rocket.

mustered up the will to go for a walk at our local park and Kaija did beautifully. we had to walk past multiple poorly managed reactive dogs, straining at the ends of their leashes and/or barking their heads off at us, but Kaija stayed in a heel and remained focused on me until we had gone by. and we even managed to get in a little bit of off-leash romping in an empty section of the park which was a nice treat.

Every Saturday and Sunday I go to the clinic to do an alcohol test - because being controlled is the only thing that keeps me sober (this plan was my idea, yes, I got praised for this by the staff 🙌🏻). So today when I went there, I asked to have a talk and confessed that I relapsed. I'm proud that I was honest. Even prouder that I stopped the relapse. I didn't continue drinking today - I genuinely didn't want to which is new.
The nurse thanked me for my honesty and offered that next time I can come over before I relapse and stay the night. Not sure if I'll manage to do that but I can try and it's good to have this option.

tfw when you read the acknowledgements for an academic text on an incredibly niche subject and realize the author is the brother-in-law of a grad school classmate (in a discipline that is only somewhat tangentially related to the book in question)

has nanamin ever brought tsumiki and megumi to his office die ‘bring your kid to work’ day? has he ever attended any special functions at their school? i never knew the idea of ‘nanami being a central parental figure in the fushiguro siblings lives’ could mean so much to me–
Oh his ass was in a chair at every single special event at their schools. He absolutely brought them to bring your kid to work day. When he had visitation with the kids, he would work double time leading up so he could be off in time to make them dinner and help them with their homework and get them to bed at a reasonable hour. He wanted them so desperately to have a normal life when they were with him.
He felt horribly guilty, is the thing, with how he left Megumi to the Zenin and how he left them in the jujutsu world after that. He’s not Gojo, is the thing. He knows he couldn’t win if it came down to trying to take them away permanently. And he does not know that Gojo would side with him if he really did try.
He has their passports. Gojo gave them to him when he asked, and they both know that it was so he could take them and run if he needed to. But they stay in the bottom of his sock drawer.
He doesn’t think they’d actually make it all that far.
But the least he could do was give them a normal childhood. He gave them “bring your kid to work” days and school events and took them to the library on the weekends. He wanted them to be children. He wanted them to feel loved.
Nanami Kento genuinely loves the Fushiguro siblings as his own, and he is so goddamn sorry for every time he failed to protect them. He is so goddamn sorry for every time they were hurt. He loves them. He wishes that were enough.

How many times do I have to learn the lesson that I should start the story when the story starts instead of trying to tack on introductory worldbuilding?
Seriously. My instincts about when to start the story are almost never wrong. But I always assume the first scene in my imagination requires set-up that people outside of my imagination don't have. So I tack on an intro to set the mood and to set up the plot and characters and world. And it's boring. When I should have just started where I wanted to start so I could weave explanations into a scene where things are actually happening.
