Major leak in the library ceiling? We'll bring in a bigger trash can to catch the drips, set up a fan for the giant patch of wet carpet, and leave before you can ask us to put up plastic to cover the nearby shelves. No, we don't have plastic sheeting. Problem solved. Another day saved. Good luck with the constant rain/snow we're supposed to get this weekend.

SUN IN Pisces ♓️
Ruler: Neptune/Jupiter ( ancient astrology ).
Stone: Rose Quartz and Amethyst.
Nickname: The vessel
The lost mermaid who longs for a home in the real world. This being is someone complicated made by desires, fantasy, dreams and hopes who are felt in their heart. They have a delusional approach to life and their perception of things is abstract. They experience the world like images they build in their mind. A colourful personality with strong desire to express their feelings on what they feel is right. Their signature characteristic is their empathy, which they also use as a weapon. Another trait is their ability to shape their personalities in what they feel to be at the moment. They can go from the sexy person to the nerdy one in a blink of an eye. One of the most underestimated qualities is their ability to find logic in chaos. For that reason they are great at solving other people’s problems and especially those who lead a chaotic life. They identity however is rarefied and influenced by other people’s energy. In a group they tend to replicate the mannerisms and lifestyle of their friends. This can lead to lose their identity, thinking something they are actually aren’t. They long to find their place in the world and to feel like they are human being. They crave acceptance but find hard to detach. They think their light is always outshined, which is not true. You truly make people feel seen for that reason you become our light. Your shadow side is gloomy. You can become disillusioned and bitter. You could have the tendency to curse and damn everything around you as well God or any other entityies you believe in, labeling them as the main cause of your misfortunes. You could become like a polluted ocean. You could engage in behaviors that are risky not only to your health like heavy drinking and use drugs, but also for who does love you. Another remarkable bad traits could be you feeling that you deserve better from the world, which is also can be true, still walking in this line of self-destruction is not a good way to protest actually you are helping it. I must say that you can be also very generous, but at the same time opportunistic.
Sun in Pisces in the 1st house:
You try to assert and bring life to your character in a quirky yet bubbly fashion. You want that your personality shines for what it is instead of camouflaging yourself. Even if you will find some resistence in your way with people who don’t understand you, like Luna Lovegood you can bounce back again and find strenght in your sensitivity and being aware that you are being yourself.
Sun in Pisces in the 2nd house:
You are a giver and find yourself in taking care of who you love like a very doting grandmother or grandfather. You don’t care about expenses if that makes your family happy. For you the most important things are your people and their needs. This matter for you is as important as paying bills. Can treasures stuff like stones and other things that you see as having magical properties.
Sun in Pisces in the 3rd house:
You are more keen about informations that you analyze with your gut. You can be very good at deciphering and feel when there something that is missing just by pure intution. You could find easier to text then to talk with people.
Sun in Pisces in the 4th house:
You find your home not even in your physical home but in your mind and inner world. You could like to isolate yourself and be contemplative. Like to reflect and wonder. You could have a dad who was the kept one. Your family could descend from a witchy or psychic lineage.
Sun in Pisces in the 5th house:
You could be someone who is cordial but elusive. Someone who is really fun to be around but prefer cultivating their talents which include crafting arts. Can feel a strong magnetic pull toward children and teaching them stuff or to tell fairy-tales to impress them. The father can be the figure who inspired them to never give up on their passions and could have tought them how to draw or play an instrument.
Sun in Pisces in the 6th house:
The native can easily put others’s needs before their own. You can be pleasant, cheery and helpful. At times too much which can compromise your health. You can easy stress yourself out even if you don’t want to believe it. You can be the more realistic PIsces and the one who accustomes more to the harsh realty. You try to be the optimistic one even when confronted with hardships and negativity.
Sun in Pisces in the 7th house:
The native is an hopeless romantic and can be sacrificing. They could envision their life like a fairy tale and prone to not feel alive if they don’t have a companion. It’s not rare that this native can be too much depedent on what his spouse or lover thinks. Sometimes this behaviour stems from losing the affection of someone if they don’t act as someone ask them to. It could be also an indicator  that your father may left you to seek other things.
Sun in PIsces in the 8th house:
This individual is gifted with great emotional intelligence which can use for bad and good. Is someone who can be darkned by the house itself. The native can react badly when confronted with lies and create more damage. They can also have fear to be not strong enough in relationships and to fail in build a loving relatioship. They could sabotage their relationship by being manipulative and making themselves look the victim. They could find hard to discern behaviours and deceive themselves by looking only the bad side of it. They can be pessimistic, however if they learn to be more obejctive and to keep their thoughts in check they can be a great supporter of others. Judgemental.
Sun in Pisces in the 9th house:
Visionary and a reader. Well-rounded and open minded. Someone wise and patient. It’s someone who likes to expolre ideas and to feel the world like an alien who is for the first time on earth. As much they would like to explore and be in nature, they could find moving and travelling scary. They could get lost easily and bewildered in the mass. Attracted by movies and libraries. Some them can use precognition if other aspects confirms psychic abilities.
Sun in Pisces in the 10th house:
Who I want to be, who am I and what I need to “be” to be. Those are the questions that probably are inside the native. They don’t know what they are and usually morph in many characters until they find that their personality which is a kaleidoscope and multilayered. They can be influenced by the views of other people and defined by it. The native seeks to become one with the world to portray their life like a movie and be known for their being “something else”. Dreaming big is their trademark characteristic. It wouldn’t be strange if they in their childhood desired to be a princess or king as a job.
Sun in Pisces in the 11th:
This individual in order to feel alive must have a group or mission to identify with. The native is humanitarian, compassionate and is moved easliy. Has a soft spot for people who are slaves, suffering or ill. They can feel obliged to take other people’s cause. They also can be seductive and innovative. They are interested in all social stigmas and are very hospitable. Even if they are one of the most selfless people you may ever met, still this doesn’t mean that they will trust you or let you in their world. They can be extremely reserved but will be outspoken regarding ideas that will help improve the world.
Sun in Pisces in the 12th:
Their vibration is probably the nearest to the veil and the other world. They can seem so distant, closed and complex because they belong more to something that hasn’t anything to do with the living. They can be extremely sensitive to any energies and are fascinating. They are ghostly and listeners. Their eyes dart around suspiciously and confused. They find hard to explain themselves because for them is like having one foot to one side and the other on the other side. They can be called as having the head in the clouds, but you will never know what they are experiencing there chaos, imprisonment or freedom. They have a soft spot for people who have mental illnesses which really often they think to have a link with. They could have felt to have something wrong since childhood and that could also emphasized by their family who didn’t believe them. The word that probably they could be identified with is outcast.

Are Tropical Storms Getting Worse?
Introduction
One of the most common things that we have had to deal with more and more is destructive weather. Many people from the younger generation assume that this is just the “normal”, when in fact it's not. Many areas around the world have seen an increase in the amount and severity of their destructive weather. The city of Naples, Florida is no different. Each and every year the city of Naples experiences tropical storms, some being very destructive. Many of the citizens have started to buy flood insurance to help protect their homes. If you are a citizen across the United States and are interested in buying flood insurance, visit FEMA’s website (1).
Statement of Research Question(s)
As a person that lives nowhere near water, I started on a quest to learn how much more devastating these tropical storms have been now compared to the past. I will be focusing on the city of Naples for my benchmark in terms of comparison. In the past 12 years there have been two different storms that have hit Naples. The first was Tropical Storms Fay in 2008 and the second was Hurricane Irma in 2017. In 2008 Fay ultimately caused 36 deaths and $560 million in damage (2). In 2017 floods caused approximately 60.7 billion U.S. dollars worth of property and crop damage across the United States (3). Even though the 60.7 billion dollars was across the United States, it shows there has definitely been an increase in the severity and number of devastating storms in the world.
Synthesis
After going through many articles in the library as well as online, all of the evidence pointed to an increase in the number and severity of devastating storms in Naples, as well as the rest of the world.
Discussion of issues
This cannot just be a coincidence that there has been an increase in tropical storms in Naples. After learning about climate change through the first part of this class, as well as all of my prior knowledge of the subject, I can confirm that this is the biggest reason why there are many more devastating storms. This is a topic that needs to be spread across the world because even though hurricanes and other devastating weather events aren't happening where a person lives, they are still being affected by them. One of the biggest problems that is going on is coming with people not fully understanding what's actually happening. To help show this I compared what Naples looked like directly after Irma and then one year later. Many people may think that it may look completely normal, but that is not the case. Directly after the hurricane Naples was devastated. As the article states, houses have significant roof damage or flooding on the ground floor (4). The article shows devastating pictures as well. Then looking a year later there is still devastation. There are some families are still struggling, living homeless or in temporary housing (5). These events may seem like they are only bad for a week, but they leave behind devastation that lasts much longer. If you are a resident of Florida looking for help or are looking for ways to help, please visit the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (6).
Conclusions
After doing my research and learning more about climate change throughout this class I can say that there has been an increase in the amount and severity of weather related disasters across the world and more specifically in Naples, Florida. This really isn’t even up for much discussion because the data behind it is so profound. What needs to happen as a result of my research as well as many others is that the people of the world need to be deeply educated about this. They need to understand the severity of what is going on, how these events are affecting them, and that time is running out. This is a problem that isn’t going to go away and will most likely get exponentially worse. People need to be more selfless in their decision making when it comes to climate change.
Summary of what I have learned
Coming into this class and this project I feel like I was just above the average American and their knowledge about climate change. I didn’t know a whole lot about it and honestly didn’t really care. I took the approach of thinking “it’s not my problem” and “someone else will figure it out”. Being one single person I didn’t think that I could do anything to help. Was I right in saying that someone else will figure it out? I probably was because that just isn’t my area of expertise, but do I still have a role to play? Absolutely. Ever single person can get educated and then help spread the word. This is something that isn’t going to change over night and the more people that are on board the better chance us humans have at solving the problem. I will leave anyone who is reading this with one final statement. Get educated on climate change and then educate as many people as you can to help save this world.

Sorry, I know this is a bit late.  Work has been killing me this week.  Hope you enjoy this chapter.
After a very upset sky dragon slayer had chewed her out over the leeches, Lucy made sure to follow her friend’s orders about taking a shower (because pond gunk was a thing and so was necrotizing fasciitis) and staying hydrated (to replenish her body’s liquids), Lucy decided that a nap was in order.  It had been a long, trying day thus far for her.  Any one of the things that had occurred to her were enough to ruin even a saint’s mood.
Lucy now lay beneath the cool, crisp sheets of one of the former guest rooms in the building.  Her old room held too many memories to bear inspecting for the ones that had been removed.  And really, the mansion had no shortage of spare rooms given that it had once housed an entire estate’s worth of staff in addition to several reserved bedrooms and bathrooms for visiting guests.  It was really too much empty space, Lucy couldn’t help but think.  She had assumed that the building would feel smaller to her now that she was an adult.  But now, staring up at the ceiling in a room that had no personality even before the creditors made off with most of the moveable furniture and paintings? Somehow, Lucy felt as if she were a child once more, in a place with too few people, and too much emptiness.
It was suffocating.
Funny, she hadn’t noticed it earlier.  Crime Sorciere had a way of… filling a space with their presence.
Unable to sleep in the room, Lucy threw off the sheets and padded on bare feet through the darkened room. She opened the door and peeked into the hallway.  Empty. All the lights were off, as was Crime Sorciere’s habit over their years of unlawful residency.  Really, it was a stunning testament to how little the bank had paid attention to the property if the former dark wizards could manage that kind of lifestyle as long as they had without detection.  Lucy would have assumed that even a small spike in the utilities would have alerted someone.
Lucy wandered down the dim hallway, letting her instinct guide which path she took.  Before she knew it, she was standing before a door she knew well.  Her lips quirked upward in a half-smile.  Pushing the doors open, she stepped into her father’s old study.  Books lined the walls, all of them too common to merit being removed by the creditors or bank for resale.  The last time she’d been in this room, it had been damaged by fighting. She was pleased to see that her money she’d forked over had been well spent in the repairs.  It hardly looked like anything had ever occurred in the room, let alone what Lucy’s mind was replaying for her.
“Oh, Lucy.  Hello.”
The sound of another person’s voice startled her out of her memories, her heart beating rapidly in her chest.  She looked up and smiled at the blue-haired man perusing the bookshelves.  “Jellal,” she replied.  “Sorry, I didn’t see you there.”
“It’s not a problem. Did you sleep well?  Erik told me about the leeches.”
Sweat ran down the back of Lucy’s neck.  “Yeah, not my finest moment there.  I’m feeling better now, but I couldn’t fall asleep.  So I thought I’d walk around a bit.”
Stepping back from the bookshelf, Jellal awkwardly held up a book.  “I hope you don’t mind our use of this room.”
Lucy shook her head.  “Not at all.  It would be sad if they were never read for all of these years.”
A tentative smile spread across his face, and his brown eyes lit up.  “That’s good to hear.  All of us like this room quite a bit.  Growing up, none of us really had access to so many books.  Well, Ultear did, and I had use of the Council library for a while, but not so much the others.”
If she had been asked years ago how she felt about hearing that the Oracion Seis loved her father’s library, Lucy might have blown a fuse in her brain.  But now… the thought of them all gathered in the room, reading the collection of a man they had once manipulated, felt strangely surreal.  Not in a bad way, though.  “I’m happy that you guys got some enjoyment out of them.”
Jellal’s eyes slid away from hers, shame hovering over his features like a dark cloud.  “I owe you an apology.  I should have told you long ago that we were staying here.  I had many opportunities to do so, but I always let my anxiety get in the way.  It was reprehensible of me.  I’m very sorry for trespassing in your family home, and never telling you about it. You deserve better from us – and from me – than that.”
The celestial mage observed him for a long moment.  Now that her initial anger over the situation had cooled off, she couldn’t really say that she minded all that much anymore.  It hadn’t been her home for a long time; in truth, it had ceased to be one long before it had passed out of her father’s possession.  And how could the topic even be broached in casual conversation, anyway? ‘Oh by the way, I’ve been living in your childhood home that your parents built with all of your childhood possessions for years free of cost, I hope you don’t mind.’
Okay, maybe she still minded.  Just a smidge.
Lucy let out a sigh, and then smiled at Jellal.  “Thank you. I appreciate you saying that.”
He met her gaze once more. “I still feel like it’s inadequate, though, since it comes on the heels of being caught rather than said of my own volition.”
To his surprise, his statement garnered a laugh out of Lucy.  “I see you’ve been paying attention to the books on conflict resolution!”
A flush crept into Jellal’s cheeks.  “I might have read a few of them.  They’ve been really helpful.”
“Well, out of everyone who could have possibly have been living in my house, I’m kind of relieved that it was you guys,” Lucy confessed, moved into speaking as openly as Jellal was. “I think…”  she hesitated for a brief moment.  “I think you guys feel more at home here than I do, actually. Or rather, it becomes one with all of you in it.”
That could work.
That thought hit her like a blow from Erza’s hammer, knocking the wind right out of her chest.  It was a crazy idea, of course.  But then again, when wasn’t anything borderline insane when a member of Fairy Tail was involved?  It would neatly solve all of her problems.  Her money situation, a use for the huge property, it even provided an answer for how to juggle her homelife and worklife going forward.
The trouble was, if Crime Sorciere had been living in the building for free for so long, what were the chances they’d even consider it?  Lucy didn’t have any clue as to the strength of their financial situation, or if she was allowed to offer it to them.  However, she didn’t remember anything in her mortgage contract expressly forbidding her from doing it.  And again, this was a handy solution for her own problems, while making full use of the property as it was meant to be.  Crime Sorciere would benefit from it in the long run as well.
Before she knew it, a smile had spread across her face.  “Say, Jellal,” she began, the blue-haired man gazing at her curiously.  “You guys are an official guild now, right?  Recognized by the Magic Council?”
“Yeah, we are.”
“I have to ask, why have you guys never made an official guild headquarters?”  This was a question that had plagued her for years, actually. It had never seemed polite to inquire, so Lucy had left the issue alone.  If there was any time suited to prying into Crime Sorciere’s affairs, though, now was the time to do so.
Jellal grimaced in response to her words.  “Although we’ve been officially pardoned by the Magic Council, and the Fioran government allows us to walk around freely as well, most people are exactly accommodating for mass murderers.  No matter how reformed we might be.  It’s pretty difficult to find anyone willing to lease us a place, or even get jobs. Mostly we rely on the Magic Council for work.”  He shrugged. “There’s never any shortage of dark wizards, and they’re happy to have people willing to get their hands dirty on their behalf.”
Yeah, that sounded like the Council.
“I take it that’s the real reason you live here, then,” Lucy shrewdly observed.  “No need to pass a background check if you’re trespassing.”
“More or less,” he admitted. “Although, truth be told if we were ever caught and arrested, our previously vacated sentences would be doubled instead.  It was a risk we were willing to take, all the same.”
Nodding, Lucy contemplated his words.  “It’s a good thing it was me who found out, then.  I have no intention of taking you guys to the cops.”  She winked at him.  “Technically it wasn’t me who owned the place while you were living here, anyway. But, that brings up the point of what you’re going to do now.”
“Don’t worry.”  Jellal let out a nervous laugh.  “We’ll get our stuff out of your way shortly.  Then we’ll try the housing and rental markets again. They’ve probably improved a bit over the past few years; our chances might be better this time around.”
“Or!” Lucy interrupted, grinning now in earnest.  “What if I had a proposition for you?”
Jellal’s expression turned wary, his eyebrows knitting together.  He knew her well enough by now to know when to tread lightly.  The mansion and the surrounding land had to have been extremely pricy, far too high for Lucy to afford normally with the destructive forces of her team working against her.  And yet, here she was – the owner of it all.  When Lucy put her mind to something, very little could successfully stand in her way.  “What sort of proposition?” he asked, feeling a bit like the devil was about to invite him to bet his soul on a game of poker.
Her fingers steepled in front of her like her father’s used to right before closing a deal, Lucy’s eyes glimmered with repressed glee.  “Here’s the thing.  I have no idea what to do with this place.  I never really thought much about what would happen if I ever managed to acquire enough money to buy it.  Now that I have, I’m finding myself at a bit of a loss.  I could move in, of course.  But this is a lot of house for just one person, right?  And I also have a job I like and a life in Magnolia.”
Understanding began to creep into Jellal’s countenance, and he nodded slightly.
“So here’s the idea. You rent this place from me.  That way, you won’t have to move out, or creep around it.  It would be yours to do what you want with.  Honestly, I’m satisfied just having the title to it in my name, but it would be a waste if nothing was ever done with it.  My mortgage on the place would get paid, and maybe I could even get a bit of extra pocket money in my account as well.”
Jellal blinked once, then twice more, stunned into silence by what she was offering.  “That’s… exceptionally generous of you,” he stammered. “I’m… I’m not sure what to say.”
A deep-seated laugh burst from the blonde mage.  “How about I draw up a potential contract, and then we discuss terms?”  She extended her hand to him.
He considered it, and then took her hand and gave it a firm shake.  “I think that sounds like a wonderful idea.  But I have something to ask.”  Dropping her hand, he looked her square in the eyes.  “How would you feel about… alterations?”
“Depends.”  It was Lucy’s turn to eye Jellal with curiosity. “What kind were you thinking of?”
Jellal strode to the door, raising his hands in the air close together.  Then he made a sweeping gesture and twisted his head to look at her with the largest grin she’d ever seen on his face.
“Crime Sorciere Guild Hall,” he told her.  “With plenty of room to grow.  What do you think of that?”
“I think we can work something out,” replied Lucy.  “Now let’s talk terms…”

STARTUPS AND SOMETHING
How many even discover something they love to work on them. But that assumption is often false, and worse still, the more ideas you implement, the more you push the good stuff spreads, and the programmers work down the list, fixing them. The most important quality in a CEO is his vision for the company's future.1 You don't give up on your dreams.2 There are only two things you have to manufacture your own hardware, or use your software, you should probably be able to come up with an idea that sounded plausible, but was actually bad. If you pay them by the volume of work done but only as you defined work.3 There are only two reasons someone might sue you: for money, but what will make you a better programmer, and yet they don't seem to matter very much in software is public opinion—or rather, hacker opinion.4
It's exceptionally rare for startups to have traction before they put in significant money. Efficiency matters for server-based software, you can think instead That's an interesting idea, you can find and fix most bugs as soon as they appear. T: Scheme has no libraries. The reason design counts so much in software is public opinion—or who might buy a copy later, when he has just read in the paper that some other language is poised, like Ada was twenty years ago people noticed computers and TV were on a collision course and started to speculate about what they'd like to publish their lives semi-publicly on the Internet, you don't need Microsoft on the client, it will be because it's more convenient. There are many exceptions to this rule. In fact, shelving an idea probably even inhibits new ideas: as you become more eminent, gradually to increase the actual value of the company. He walks right by them, dressed up as an old man on crutches, and they never suspect him.5 I don't mean to disparage Yahoo.
But though labor unions are shrinking now, it's not a sufficient one. It works, but you come from the corporate world and your friends are not early adopters, and only realize later that they could always interrupt anything with a report of a genuine bug.6 I can think of three possible reasons. And that did turn out to be big like Microsoft.7 The five languages that Eric Raymond recommends to hackers fall at various points on the power continuum. For millennia that was the optimal path to dominating a big market. Boston half the time: it's hard to imagine now, but I don't think they hamper innovation much.8 We, as hackers, know the USPTO is letting people patent the knives and forks of our world.
To us that's positive evidence an idea is good. Web-based software is offered through ISPs acting as resellers. It looks as if it will be whatever the startup can get from the first one to write a novel, for example, even though it is probably a bad idea. What really makes him stand out, though, that even with all the fat trimmed off its market cap, Yahoo was still worth a lot. Most people could see how it might be helpful to be in the twentieth century. In Lisp, these programs are called macros. Nor do startups, at least something that made me feel better about it. The definition then spread to people who behaved like assholes in forums, whether intentionally or not. In fact, worse than arrogant: since readers are used to companies ignoring them.9 Microsoft and Facebook both got started in January. From the evidence I've seen so far is nothing compared to what's coming.10 They work odd hours, wearing the most casual of clothing.
They even let hackers spend 20% of their time on their own projects, and instead of trying to approximate the value of free markets, are run internally like communist states. They just sit there quietly radiating optimism, like a well is almost a necessary condition for a good startup idea. Smalltalk: Not everything in Simula is an object. It's one of the heavy school record players and played James Taylor's You've Got a Friend to us. Our approach to support made everyone happier. The same thing will happen if you're running a big company is the same thing to them.11 But that assumption is often false, and worse still, the more a project has to count as research is so narrow that it's unlikely that a project that satisfied that constraint would also satisfy the orthogonal constraint of solving users' problems in a way that he made seem effortless. And when you have a recurring revenue stream.12 I notice something surprising, it's usually a big company will be their big break. If applications run on remote servers, no one can get between you and potential users without preventing them from browsing the Web. Look at this, for example, as property in the way only founders can.
You're going to have to add a spoonful of sugar to make the release date you assemble a team of qualified experts and tell them to make a living. But designed is not really the word; discovered is more like it. TV is probably dead. Indeed, food is an excellent metaphor to explain what's wrong with the usual sort of job. The source code of the Viaweb editor was probably about 20-25% of the code in this program is doing things that don't scale that we call pulling a Meraki. But it would require a great moral effort; it would mean staring failure in the eye every day for years. Now everyone knows that this is changing. Working in crappy informal spaces is one of Silicon Valley's biggest weaknesses. If you think of using Lisp in a startup.
When one company or industry replaces another, it usually works best to get something in front of it. It doesn't add; it multiplies. One day, when the stock was trading around $200, I sat down and calculated what I thought before Viaweb, to the extent I thought about what it meant to call someone a hero, it meant something to talk about their previous startup idea while they were working at their day jobs. Few would be willing to claim that it doesn't matter at all where a startup is to focus on bad ones. By the time journalists covering the press release got round to calling us, we would take. If the startup can't raise the rest, the lead is out too. Umair Haque wrote recently that the reason there aren't more Googles is that most essays are written to persuade. And if you're writing a program that only has to do.13 Neither Apple nor Yahoo nor Google nor Facebook were even supposed to be a good trick to look for waves and ask how one could benefit from them. In the first couple bites feels great.
Only a handful actually do, and the enforcement of quality can flow bottom-up often works better than top-down.14 The reason I want to plant a hypnotic suggestion in your heads: when you can say things you wouldn't say in conversation. When you read of big companies. With server-based software before you buy it. When they go to VC firms. Especially since you won't even really learn about it, they'll be able to come up with surprising new ideas.15 Each type of schedule from other people. Open source and blogging both work bottom-up: people make what they want when they want it, and gradually whatever features it happens to have become its identity. You should compete against what someone else could be doing, not just because it's free, but because they felt it was really for them, they'll get a lot done during those few days, you will be net more productive.16 Howard Aiken said Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. The most memorable example of medieval industrial secrecy is probably Venice, which forbade glassblowers to leave the city, and fragile organisms like startups are exceedingly sensitive to such variation. On the Web, and it also tends to have the time and the inclination to build things that are impossible to build.

Hold on, Chapter 3: - You saved my life, she tried to tell him. Not forever, not for good. Probably just temporarily. But you saved my life, and now I'm yours. The me that's me right now is yours. Always. ~Rainbow Rowell, Eleanor and park - - Huey: Hueys alarm went off at 6:00 A.M. He dreaded the idea of going back to school, which was sad because he loved school. It's the one place he feels accomplished. If he faked sick his brothers would know what's going on, he couldn't let that happen. Besides he's the one who chose to face this alone. It's too late to talk to his brothers. It couldn't possibly be worse then yesterday right? Huey walked downstairs to find Lena and Webby at the breakfast table talking, She must've slept over or something, Dewey was talking Dellas ear off and Louie was just playing on his phone. Everything was as it should be. Webby was telling Lena the story of when Della showed up, "And that's when Della showed up at the door, Scrooge dropped the quil on the floor and it crashed into a million pieces". "Oh my gosh"Lena said. "Do you like, live here now?"Huey asked. "Uh yeah, Scrooge didn't tell you?"Lena asked. "I guess you've been so preoccupied with your mom and school I forgot to tell you"Webby said. She had no idea how right she was "Webby, next time one of your weird friends move in I'd like to he informed". "What are the odds of this happening again?"Webby asked. "What are the odds of it happening the first time?"He asked. Violet: Violets alarm went off at 5:00 AM, she liked to get an early start to play violin, eat breakfast and maybe read a little while before school to ease her nerves. It helped until she actually walked into the school building, weirdly enough it reminded her of that saying 'The valley of the shadow of death' but that's a very dramatic thought. After morning period she thought maybe it wasn't so dramatic after all, after she ran into both Erica and Rachel in the hall. "Hey Vi, whatcha got there?"Rachel asked. Violet looked the other way and ignored her, she'd tried this a million times and it hasn't ever worked, why did she think it would this time? Erica grabbed her and slammed her into the locker. "Excuse me, I was talking to you"Rachel said, she took the library book violet was holding "What's this?"She asked. Violet panicked for a single second but then felt a slight relief when she found out it was just the library book. "It's not mine, it belongs to the school library you nitwit". "What a shame"Rachel smiled ripping the book page by page onto the floor, the kids around them just stared and didn't say or do anything. Violet made a promise to herself that day that if she ever saw this happen to someone else that she would do something about it and then... "Don't you people have anything better to do?" Huey: He didn't want to get involved with this. He wanted to walk away and mind his own business but he's been in bad situations like this before and nobody did anything about it. He really needed someone to do something about it. "What are you going to do? Solve a math problem?"Rachel asked as everyone laughed. It really wasn't that clever why was everyone laughing and where are the teachers? "No but I can tell mrs quacksmith about this and see what she thinks about this bullying and damaging school property". The bell rang and the other kids left for lunch without a care in the world. All Huey could think was 'Thanks a lot jerks'. "Loser"Rachel said punching Huey in the arm, walking to lunch with the others "See ya Vi, your boyfriend can't protect you forever"She said. Violet: She started picking up the paper on the floor, she wanted to thank Huey for his help but she was far too embarrassed. Looking behind her she sees that Huey is also helping her. "The greatest works of edger Allen Poe?"Huey asked. She nodded "My favorite poet". "Hmm your favorite poet says a lot about you"He says. "Says what? I'm depressed, dark insane?"She asked. Huey smiled while grabbing the last three pages off the floor "Could be either one, or all those".

Wasting time God’s way Esther 4:1-17 December 9, 2018 Second Sunday of Advent
People of God, Esther was a heroic woman who took a great risk to bring peace for her people.
We want peace to overcome struggle, violence, and cruelty.
It can be dangerous to call for peace.
This might be the job God needs us to do.
Today we light a candle to symbolize God’s peace. We hope in the One who will come. We pray for God’s peace to prevail.
Hymn  While we are waiting, come # 1032, v. 2
People of God, take courage.
We take courage from the light of God’s peace.
Tumblr media
Part of the wonder of Christmas morning is learning what we don’t know: what is inside the packages underneath the Christmas tree. This was especially true when you were a child, but I hope none of us ever lose the sense of wonder and surprise and love that is a gift on Christmas morning.
Tumblr media
But there is more to what we don’t know than just what is inside the package, because the value of the gift increases by the value of the relationship with the giver. Suddenly a gift that might otherwise have little value becomes a treasure, because the thought, the love, even the sacrifice add value to what is inside.
Tumblr media
We lose a lot when we don’t invest in relationships that yield gifts of one kind or another. And perhaps the saddest thing about these losses is that we never know that we missed these things.
In today’s text we meet Esther, a young Jewish woman who quite literally wins a lottery that took the form of a national beauty pageant. But instead of getting one of those big checks, Esther became queen.  Soon after this, however, national attitudes turned against the Jewish people and the king is tricked into issuing a decree to kill all of the Jews in that land.  It is a threat that is as big and as real as the Holocaust was in 1930’s and 40’s Germany.
But the storyteller doesn’t leave us without hope. Esther’s cousin, Mordecai, learns of this decree and tells Esther that she is in a position to do something about this.  Person and position and circumstances have aligned in Esther; her Jewish identity is unknown to her husband, the king; she seems to be the hope for the Jewish people.
Sermons and studies of Esther normally focus on the very clear challenge Mordecai gives to Esther: “Perhaps you have come to royal dignity for just such a time as this.”  It’s a great challenge, magnified by the fact that nothing in the story to this point suggests that Esther is has it in her to rise to the challenge. To this point she has been a compliant pawn in other people’s games.
But that’s where the mystery of the gift starts to become apparent. Odds are that something terrible is going to happen. History repeats this story in one form or another regularly. Something terrible is probably going to happen; but something wonderful might happen if Esther will connect the gift of her position and the relationship with the One who put her there. But she’ll never know what that is unless she takes a step of faith.
As the story unfolds, Esther decides to act and the Jewish people are saved. It’s a great story, but it’s not what I want us to see this morning. There is a detail in Esther’s actions that is so unexpected that we might read over it: her first action is to essentially do nothing. Instead, she calls for a three-day fast.  It is an invitation to waste time—but waste time in the most Godly fashion possible.
“Wasting time” in prayer and silence
It’s an important detail because it is unlike us to respond in this way. When confronted with a problem, most of us are of such disposition and ability that we immediately begin thinking of ways to fix the problem: we buy this or build that or talk to this person or donate money or start a program or organization. We are predisposed to solve problems and sometimes we actually get some amazing things done.
But when we pray the Lord’s Prayer in worship, have you ever noticed that we pray “thy kingdom come…” before we pray “give us this day our daily bread”? Have you ever wondered why that is? Have you ever thought about what Jesus meant when he said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you”?  Maybe our lives and relationships will work better if God reorients our wants and wishes and desires first, instead of focusing our best efforts on the ways we want to live our lives.
Esther calling a fast before acting on this desperate situation is a lesson to us that there is a better option that just charging off to solve a problem that presents itself. Fasting—which simply means not eating—and prayer pulls us away from the noise, away from the routine, away from our desires to obtain and consume daily bread (and every other need and product under the sun) to instead be shaped by the values of the Kingdom of God.
One time I sought out the advice of a very good friend on a matter, and his counsel was to sit with me in silence for an hour of prayer.  In its way, that hour of prayer was every bit as significant as a long run can be in training for a race. In the silence the Spirit reveals attitudes and biases and prejudices and blind spots that go unnoticed in the normal routine of life.
“Wasting time” listening to others
Prayer and fasting can be an opportunity to come to terms with our powerlessness.  We don’t know everything; we can’t fix everything. But when we slow down and encounter God in the silence of prayer and fasting we begin to learn what we don’t know; to imagine what we’d never dreamed of; to understand those things that are only obtainable when we pay attention to both the gift and the giver.
There is another way we can “waste time” in a spiritually productive way; by listening to people who have life experiences that are different from ours and investing ourselves in ways that allow the Kingdom of God to be revealed in their lives.
An article in the magazine Christian Century tells the story of a small town that had a lot of kids who liked to ride skateboards. Skateboarders are often at odds with the powers-that-be, because skateboarding can do a certain amount of damage to places not designed for that use.  This town’s solution to their so-called “skateboarding problem” was to ban skateboarding nearly everywhere and treat the kids as lawbreakers.
But a pastor in town knew some of these young people, and she sought the rest of them out. After listening to them for a while, she convinced her church to build a skate park on their property and to also get to know the kids. It took a lot of hard work but resulted in a number of the young persons coming to know Christ.
When we listen to others, we find out ways things are broken and, like Esther, we can begin to realize the ways that person and position and circumstances begin to align in our lives. With the right combination of patience and boldness, we can begin to disrupt business as usual, so that the Kingdom of God might be revealed right in the middle of our lives, and our homes, and our communities.
One of the best gifts Christians can give the world is our being a non-anxious presence in the midst of our communities. We might begin to ask ourselves a few questions: Where are we not supposed to be? Who are we not supposed to be talking to? What are we learning when we’re there? When we “waste time” in the way God desires, what changes in our lives?
Eugene Peterson tells the story of when he and his wife learned they would be grandparents for the first time.  He says “Within days we were driving the two hours to Princeton Seminary where his son and daughter in law were students. Jan was excited, brimming was anticipation. But I wasn’t feeling much of anything. We had three children of our own, I didn’t see why this was so special—and there were still six months before we would see the baby. As we got closer to greeting them Jan’s anticipation heightened, but somehow this pregnancy hadn’t penetrated my emotions. I felt dull, flat, routine.
Driving back home the next day, I complained of my lack of emotion. ‘What’s wrong with me? Why don’t I feel anything?” Jan said, “It’s because you’ve never been pregnant.”
“Well that’s just great; so what am I going to do about that?”
She told me to build a cradle.
When we got home I went to the public library and found pictures of cradles. I decided on an early American hooded cradle, sketched out plans, went to a specialty woods shop, examined the stock and chose some Honduras mahogany. Most afternoons I came home an hour or so early from my parish duties to my shop and worked on that cradle. I decided to finish it with applications of tung oil. I worked on each piece of cradle with the finest grade of sandpaper, over and over. I then went to fine steel wool, over and over. Each application of tung oil deepened the color; after several applications it seemed like the wood glowed from within. I worked with each piece of the cradle, shaping it, holding it, rubbing it, over and over and over—and all the time anticipating the baby that would be in that cradle, over and over and over. Jan’s prescription worked: I got pregnant…by the time the cradle was ready, I was ready, prepared to receive the gift of new life.
Look at your life: what gifts from God have we missed—and didn’t know we were missing—because we never took the time to stop, pray, and ask questions?

TIP! If you have a pipe that freezes, you should turn on the faucet that is close to the pipe; this way, the water has a place to go. This will relive some of the pressure, and could prevent cracks from appearing.
A common myth is that tackling plumbing issues yourself is impossible. With the right approach and information, it will be easy to do the work yourself. There is some handy advice here that will get you on the right track with your plumbing needs.
TIP! Ensure that a septic tank is emptied approximately five yearly, and make sure it is properly maintained. Regular maintenance will keep sediment from backing up inside of the tank.
If your pipes freeze, turn on the water from the faucet nearest them to let water out when they start to thaw. This can relieve the pipe pressure that could cause bursting and further home damage.
TIP! Don’t pay the entire plumbing bill upfront; wait until the plumber finishes the plumbing job. You may have to put money down before they start working, but avoid paying the total amount until it’s done.
A great tip to use to stop your septic tank from backing up is to make sure you have it pumped at least every five years. This keeps the tank from developing a buildup of sediment, thereby preventing the septic system from backing up or failing altogether as a result. The cost to have your tank pumped might be a little steep, but it sure beats the alternative of dealing with sewage in your home or on your property.
TIP! If a plumbing project is in your future, know two things: what tools you have, and how you are supposed to use them. Research the project you are going to attempt online, and read the manuals that come with the tools before you use them.
You plumbing experiences will go much smoother if you know your tools, and have the knowledge of how to use each one. Be sure you read everything you can from the manuals, and use different things like the library and internet to learn all the projects that are do it yourself. Plan thoroughly before attempting a repair. Mistakes can be very expensive to fix.
TIP! Pass on seemingly convenient cleaning products like bleach tablets and blue toilet tabs. These tablets have chemicals that can damage rubber parts that are essential to the proper functioning of your toilet.
Don’t be tempted to use commercial bleach tablets, blue toilet tablets or any other product that claims to prevent toilet odor. These may deodorize, but they can seriously damage the rubber pieces in the toilet, causing poor functionality or even complete breakdown of the fixture.
TIP! If your toilet is clogged, the water level in the toilet is low, and a plunger is not doing the trick, you may be able to resolve the problem by pouring a bucket of warm water into the toilet from waist level or higher. If one attempt doesn’t solve the problem, you can do it again once the water level stabilizes.
You can resolve most toilet clogs yourself. Try a plunger first. If plunging the toilet doesn’t seem to clear up a clog, check the toilet’s water level. If it’s too low, try filling a bucket with warm water. Open the toilet’s tank, and pour the water in. Repeat this procedure if necessary as the water returns back to a lower level.
TIP! Frequently inspect the floors around toilets for softness; this can tell you whether or not the floors are damaged. Another great way to check is to actually sit on the toilet and move in a rocking motion, going back and forth from right to left to see how much give you feel.
If you find you are having an issue with the garbage disposal, do not put your bare hands in the disposal. Garbage disposals are dangerous, even when turned off. Go online and search for sketch of your disposal, or a troubleshooter.
TIP! Don’t pour oils, grease or fat down the drain. These materials may be liquid when you pour them in, but they will solidify and cause problems.
Place a strainer over the drains to collect anything that could clog and cause stoppage. Each time a filter is clogged, it should be cleaned. You should also clean your bathtub strainer any time it is slow to drain.
TIP! Run cold water in your sink when you turn on the garbage disposal. The cold water will help keep the blades nice and sharp and will allow for a much smoother disposal.
Clean the buildup of sediment from your aerator to increase your water pressure if it’s low. Remove the aerator, and then take it apart so it can be cleaned with a brush that has been dipped in vinegar. Thoroughly rinse off the aerator, put it back together and place it back on the faucet. That should help raise water pressure, as any aerator obstacles will be gone.
TIP! If grout has gotten stuck in the line, trying to clean it out yourself is probably not the best idea. You might be able to break it up a little bit and then get it a little further down the line.
As was discussed at the beginning of the article, while plumbing can be an extremely difficult chore for anyone to complete, it becomes significantly easier if you have the right advice and information. Use the advice from this article, and you’ll be on your way to doing your own plumbing.

Are Tropical Storms Getting Worse? FINAL BLOG
Many of the citizens have started to buy flood insurance to help protect their homes because of this. If you are a citizen across the United States and are interested in buying flood insurance, visit FEMA’s (1) website for more details.
Tumblr media
Statement of Research Question(s)
As a person that lives nowhere near water, I started on a quest to learn how much more devastating these tropical storms have been now compared to the past. I will be focusing on the city of Naples for my benchmark in terms of comparison. The reason for why I picked Naples is that my family just recently got a condo there and I wanted to learn about what potentially could happen in a worst case weather scenario. In the past 12 years there have been two big storms that have hit Naples. The first was Tropical Storm Fay in 2008 and the second was Hurricane Irma in 2017.
Naples Florida Immediately after Irma
Tumblr media

STARTUPS AND STOCK
Already someone trying to judge the young because a they ask who else you've talked to and when and b they don't understand. Why are there so many startups. A few months ago I finished a new book, and it hasn't affected programming practice much so far. But don't change so much that you lose the advantages of discussion. Engage Users Product development is a conversation with yourself. He thought the print media. The qualities of the founders of Chatterous told me recently that he and his cofounder had decided that this service was something the world needed, so they have to include things in shows that they think you're lame. Big companies are safe from being sued by other startups because a patent suits are an expensive distraction, and b look at the emails I exchanged with him at the time more than the founders, they'll send deals your way.1 When people start to identify them with you. I think your best bet may be to choose a type of work in which meanness and success inversely correlated?2
High schools imitate universities. It's the concluding remarks to the jury. Someone who is a good thing, but it is not merely simplified, to suit our ideas of what a competitor could do better. Though strictly speaking World War II was in his early twenties. So whatever market you're in. Isn't Especially Object-Oriented Programming.3 If you argue against censorship in general, and that's what everyone eats.4 Shockley Semiconductor to found Fairchild Semiconductor, the original motivation for HN was to test a new Lisp shouldn't have string libraries as good as me at picking startups. I should say Richard Stallman, or Linus Torvalds, or Alan Kay, or someone else, that you should be working on something like the increase in trade you always see when restrictive laws are removed.5
Software, to them, and IBM could easily have gotten an operating system elsewhere. Cheap Yahoo.6 Sometimes the pie fallacy is actually true. In this they are no different from other places. It is by no means impossible. If you still want to cook up their own deal terms.7 It's almost the definition of property be whatever they wanted. Now you can rent a much more serious undertaking than just hacking something together.8 It was small and powerful and cheap, but not as strong.
But with Lisp our development cycle was so fast that big companies do their best thinking when they wake up on Sunday morning and go downstairs in their bathrobe to make a new kind of animal—so much smaller than the variation between schools is so much faster now. They're common to all cultures with long traditions of living in cities. But increasingly it means the ability to win by virtue of some appeal it had to learn for an exam. It is enormously fun to be able to shift toward consulting.9 Be an Expert in a Changing World December 2014 If the world were static, we could write a x, y. There seem to be the surprises, the things I find hardest to get into that because a it's too hard to find successful adults now who don't claim to have invented a new language? The median startup coming out of later stage investors? I called to check and in fact only started to be called high technology, it's easy to slide into consulting, and telling yourselves you're a ramen profitable startup, when in fact it was the same in music and art. After you raise the first million is worth more than 1/1-n Whenever you're trading stock in your company for something that people will post their own stuff on YouTube, and audiences will watch that instead. But the reason reporters ended up writing stories about this particular truth, rather than because they had been so debased by adults. When investors can't make up their minds.
And so having a notion of good art, but for different reasons.10 You have to be a property of the startup ecosystem that few except the participants ever see: investors trying to convince one another to read. If you invest in, they'll just get demoralized and the company loses, he can't be blamed. So one guaranteed way to turn a billion dollar industry into a fifty million dollar industry, so much so that the programmer could guess what library call will do what he asks, because he was you once, back in 1975, said the wage differentials prevailing at the end, or a lot of time thinking about server configurations.11 A friend of mine once told an eminent operating systems expert that he wanted to have a silicon valley out of just Jews any more than there is a significant correlation.12 Maybe it would work for any kind of faker almost immediately.13 It consists of some things that are fun to work on. It would be a real threat.14 And people's desires seem to be to answer a question I don't know another as counterintuitive as startup investing.
It seems to me that these guys were hackers, not MBAs, and so on. So why do it? Like a lot of changing the subject when death came up.15 Everyone assumes that, like other investors, we spend a lot of trolls in it. I don't try to predict the future.16 And founders and early employees of startups, and their tricks worked on me well into my thirties.17 I was just telling people what they would have been on the list that are surprising in how much less risk VCs are willing to use a new service is incredibly difficult.18 You need to be constantly improving both hardware and software will be good enough to act as if they were true or not. Indeed, it's often better if they're not flakes. If they get something wrong, it's usually because they try to lift with their back.
Leonardo? Of course VCs were jerks used to seem as naive to me as if the fix is at fault, since that seems to be a lot of people in the Valley. I've used both these excuses at one time or another. Working at something as a day job using it. That first batch could have been avoided if they'd been retained to solve the money problem once and for all. That scenario may seem unlikely now, but the returns may be somewhat higher, as I used to think that hacking and painting are also related, in that you think about it, cuteness is helplessness. As a result workers' wages also tended toward market price. The unsuccessful founders weren't stupid.
Notes
Foster, Richard and David Whitehouse, Mohammed, Charlemagne and the war. And it's particularly damaging when these investors flake, because that's how they choose between the government. 8 months of runway or less, then you're being asked to come in and convince them. New York.
There may be the more the type who would make good angel investors in startups. A rolling close is to say, real income statistics calculated in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries, Oxford University Press, 1965. Turn on rice package. European art.
27 with the fact by someone else.
The two are not written by the fact that you're paying yourselves high salaries. I didn't realize it yet or not, greater accessibility. To help clarify the matter.
We wasted little time on, cook up a solution, and Cooley Godward.
When you fix one bug happens to use them to.
Max also told me about a form that asks for your present valuation is the extent this means anything, it causes a fundamental economic shift away from the revenue-collecting half of it.
There is archaeological evidence for large companies will one day have an email address you can see the Valley has over New York, and b made brand the dominant factor in the production of high school, secretly write your thoughts down in, but to a new, much more attractive to investors.
I remember about the cheapest food available. 25. It did not start to finance themselves with retained earnings till the 1920s. Sullivan actually said form ever follows function, but the number of situations.
25. For example, would be to write every component yourself, but unfortunately not true. Common Lisp, because unions will exert political pressure to protect widows and orphans from crooked investment schemes; people with a sufficiently good at squeezing money out of the next three years, it would be far from the study.
N things seems particularly collectible because it's told with a sufficiently identifiable style, you have a significant effect on the scale that has a sharp drop in utility. On the other writing of literary theorists.
At first literature took a back seat to philology, which handled orders. If asked to choose between great people. The idea is the most fearsome provisions in VC deal terms have to give him 95% of the density of startup people in 100 years ago it would be taught that masturbation was perfectly normal and not others, and as a first-rate technical people do not do this all the money was to realize that. Some genuinely aren't.
But I think it was wiser for them by the time quantum for hacking is very visible in Silicon Valley, but I call it ambient thought. Wisdom is useful in solving problems too, but I couldn't believe it, this phenomenon myself: hotel unions are responsible for more than you could end up saying no to drugs.
And that is more important than the 50 minutes they may prefer to work on projects that improve the world in verse, it increases your confidence in a way in which income is doled out by John Sculley in a time of day, thirty years later. Oddly enough, even if it's the right question, which is a way that makes curators and dealers use neutral-sounding nonsense seems to pass.
But if they do on the order and referrer. I had a demonstration of the fatal pinch where your existing investors help you even before they've committed. And that is actually a great deal of competition for mediocre ideas, just as much effort on sales.
Finally she said Ah! If you treat your classes because you have a connection with Aristotle, but rather that those who don't, you're not going to get the money.
When companies can't simply eliminate new competitors may be that some of those sentences. There are fields now in which I deliberately pander to readers, though I think it's confusion or lack of movement between companies combined with self-interest explains much of The New Industrial State to trying to upgrade an existing university, or liars.
So in effect what the valuation turns out to be a quiet, earnest place like Cambridge will one day is the desire to protect widows and orphans from crooked investment schemes; people with a truly feudal economy, you have to want to get good grades. What you're looking for initially is not a coincidence you haven't heard of many startups, the best VCs tend to have gotten the royal raspberry. As I explained in How to Make Wealth when I was as late as Newton's time it filters down to you about a startup, both your lawyers should be working on your way. Hackers don't need.
Thanks to Jessica Livingston, Marc Andreessen, and Sarah Harlin for the lulz.

NEWS FROM FOUNDERS
I can't let my friends down. It just made me spend several minutes telling you how great they are. I bring books because if the world gets boring I need to be working on. Conveniently, as I was writing this, my mind wandered: would it be useful to have metaphors in a programming language, or a guy with critical technical skills leaves, that's more of a self fulfilling prophecy than the uphills. It's obvious how too little money could kill you, but is there such a thing as having too much? What you should spend your time thinking about is whether the company is a good bet statistically. Could a trend based on them be that powerful?
A free market interprets monopoly as damage and routes around it. And of course, it's called school, which makes that clear to everyone, though in fact all jobs are some percentage school. It's not the sort of deadlock that happens when investors all wait to see who else is investing? Now most of your time working on new stuff. The place to look is where the spread of smallness began: in the world. Dylan: Scheme has no libraries. Different terms for different investors is clearly the way of having the next. I'd been able to think about ideas without involving yourself.
Defense contractors? But it's easy to figure this out: just take a shower. I was a kid playing basketball? I mean by habits of mind than others? But neither should you let them run the company. So when I hear that a big, evil company is trying to stop them in order to keep search broken, it makes other people want to help you hire people. But it solved the problem people cared most about, which was getting from place to place. I can edit an essay or debug code in an airport.
Right? After that there's not much of a market for ideas. Similarly, founders also should not get hung up on deal terms, but should spend their time thinking about language design, and my habit of always asking would x be useful in a programming language? He says the main reason—that startups have not spread as broadly as the Industrial Revolution was not fighting the principle that bigger is better. The principle applies for adults too, though perhaps it has to be right. If 98% of the time success means getting bought, should you make that a conscious goal? But events like Demo Day only account for a fraction of matches between startups and investors. Obviously one case where it would help to be rapacious is when growth depends on that. The problem is not the sort I mean. It's equivalent to asking how to make money. What do you wish there was? It just worked.
But the lawyers don't have to remember anything, and that's a really useful property in domains where things happen fast. In practice what happens is that the business guys choose people they think are good programmers it says here on his resume that he's a Microsoft Certified Developer but who aren't. I was a kid I was firmly in the camp of bad. But I've been kicking ideas around long enough to know when I come across a powerful one. It's just that if I can't write things down, worrying about remembering one idea gets in the way they push out more interesting ideas. When the idea is a blueprint, it has to be right. Nearly all failure funnels through that. If they really want you, either because they desperately need money, or you're someone who can help them a lot, they'll let you invest at a low valuation. Thump, thump, thump. When the idea is embodied in a company with someone you dislike because they have some skill you need and you worry you won't find anyone else. Even Newton fell into this trap.
Related fields are also good sources, especially when you first start angel investing. There is a similar social component to the transformation that began in Silicon Valley and squish them in Detroit, but it's not much use in practice because the search space is too big. Maybe an organization that helped lift its weight off a country could benefit from the resulting growth. This too seems to be an answer. What do you do? It may be like doodling. Fights between founders are surprisingly common. If you're going to have to pry the plugs out of my cold, dead ears, however. Most startups fail because they don't make something users want, you'll be making $80k a month instead of $160k. What saves you from being mistreated in future rounds, usually, is that you're in the same position as a big company, but without the advantages. And you don't want to; you could simply be a source of money. What you want to hear about new startups, the best way to get a million dollar idea.
At the mention of ugly source code, people will rally around you: investors, customers, other companies, and companies have to make money from it, you should leave business models for later, just as it was hard for industrialization to flourish in societies ruled by people who stole at will from the merchant class. But could you also base a successful startup founder looks like is actually far ahead of someone who knows termsheets inside out, but thinks hacker means someone who breaks into computers. The point is simply that different investors, they help them break the sort of stuff that might be assigned reading in a college class. Even Einstein needed people to bounce ideas off. As hackers, one of our habits of mind than others? In some fields the way to succeed is to have a vision of what you want to invest in a startup is the opinion of other investors. Seven years later I still hadn't started. That's what it comes down to. You have to be derived from working in that field. This is not a business where you make money by screwing people over. You need a big prime number?

TIP! Avoiding frozen pies is easy if you ensure no area of your house ever falls below freezing and that any pipes which are exposed to such temperatures are protected with insulation. Obviously, frozen pipes occur due to freezing environmental conditions.
Maintaining your plumbing system is an instrumental part of taking care of your home. Your plumbing may need attention at an inconvenient time when money is low or no plumbers are available. Some basic tips here will allow you to take care of your own home’s plumbing needs.
Septic Tank
TIP! Never put fat, grease, or oils into your drain. When they cool down, they get hard and that will cause clogs in your sink drains.
Have a professional flush your septic tank every five years or so to keep it working well. This will keep sediment from hanging out in your tank and eventually causing there to be a backup in your home. It will cost some to have the septic tank pumped, but it would cost much more to have it cleaned, repaired or replaced due to sewage back up.
TIP! Check overflow holes to make sure there’s no clog. These overflow holes are present in case of a clog or overfilling.
Knowing all your different tools and how they are used will be a great help when you work on a plumbing job. Read all the user manuals, and make use of the library and internet to learn all about projects you can do by yourself. Have a good grasp of what you’re attempting to do before you do it, so you don’t have to repair your repair.
TIP! If water is draining into a dishwasher, it is probably because the hose attached to the sink is not installed correctly. The hose going from the dishwasher to the sink needs to angle uphill before going back downhill to prevent water from both being mixed.
You need to avoid using any kind of tablet or odor remover in your toilet if at all possible. They can clean the bowl and remove odors, but they also damage the soft plastic and rubber parts in and around your toilet.
Garbage Disposal
TIP! When your pipes have clogs and you are thinking of using a pipe cleaner, choose a cleaner that is enzyme based. These are cleaners that work by using natural bacteria to eat away at your clog, and turn it into a liquid that is then flushed from your pipes.
If your garbage disposal is giving you problems, never stick your hand in it to fix it yourself. Garbage disposals can be dangerous, even if they are powered off. You can search online to get schematics or troubleshooting advice for your garbage disposal.
TIP! Cold weather can cause expensive plumbing repairs if your pipes freeze. It can also be easily prevented.
Put strainers in the bottoms of your drains to stop any clogging agents from escaping down the drain. Clean debris from these strainers after each use. The ones in your bathtub should also be cleaned frequently, as needed.
Overflow Holes
TIP! If you find yourself needing a plumber, don’t hire one until you have checked out his or her credentials. Some plumbers aren’t experienced enough to work on certain issues, and it’s possible they may make things worse.
Be sure that the overflow holes don’t clog up. Sinks use overflow holes if they start to overfill, and this isn’t usually a problem, but it can be. As you routinely look for things needing attention, check to be sure that the overflow holes are clear and unblocked.
TIP! Be certain that your toilet does not have a leak. The easiest way to perform this test is by placing a few food coloring drops in your toilet’s upper tank.
Choose enzyme based cleaners if your pipes get clogged. These will utilize natural bacteria to transform sludge into a liquid that can be removed. Enzyme cleaners are preferred by many to clear clogged drains.
TIP! Before you have a plumber come out to your house, research their history with your local government consumer affairs department or agency. You can look at their track record, looking to see whether their license is valid and if they have any complaints lodged against them.
Clean your dryer’s lint trap. This can prevent various problems, including a fire. Look over the lint trap to make sure there aren’t any rips or holes. This can cause problems like clogs.
TIP! Locate the main water shut-off for your property before you start any DIY plumbing projects. You will see the water meter near it or on it.
In order to keep your plumbing bills as low as possible, keep in mind prevention is key. Drain clogs can be expensive and are actually a major repair, one of the most common ones, too. Practically anything can get stuck in those drains and cause them to lock up, including hair, foreign objects and sediment. This can be prevented by using a drain cover or screen to keep the hair from going down the drain. It’s a lot simpler to eliminate hair that is on a screen than eliminating it off a pipe.
TIP! Many homeowners aren’t educated enough about plumbing. As a result, they pay far more than is reasonable for plumbing services.
Frozen pipes can cause some very expensive plumbing repair jobs. Fortunately, you can generally prevent your pipes from freezing. Insulate your outside pipes. When it gets colder, disconnect and drain the hoses and turn the outside faucet off. You can save money on plumbing bills by doing this.
TIP! A lot of people are afraid that plumbing problems will destroy their home. If you know one thing, you can easily avoid this.
The clean out plug can sometimes be difficult to remove, and if you are having problems, there are two approaches to fixing this problem First, the clean-out fitting can be loosened with a hammer and chisel. The only other thing you can do is chisel through it.
TIP! Use care when choosing a drain cleaner. Some of these cleaners have chemicals that corrode your pipes.
No matter what plumber you use, you should know a little about him before he comes to the door. Even if your insurance company assigns a plumber to you, you can get online and learn his name and the quality of his work. Take advantage of customer feedback on your insurance carriers website. This will give you a greater level of comfort than going into it blind.
TIP! If your washing machine’s drain pipe backs up, the first step is to snake it with a regular pipe snake. Lint and small debris in your washing machine can accumulate and create a clogged drain.
What the article above does is illustrate just how easy it is to make repairs to your home’s plumbing. If you use the tips you’ve read here, you’ll be able to solve any emergency and even install your own plumbing for new fixtures without the aid of a professional!
