ok some things about the au that i'm writing while trying to figure out the next chapter

i'm going to rebranded it from "ymmhtc" to "fall away au" since the title of the fic changed a while back and i finally figured out a tag for it

amy lives on her own and owns her own cafe (as we know from the infamous Rose Cafe that Silver and Shadow work at)

the only person who Amy really trusted whole heartedly to work alongside her when her cafe was starting up was Shadow. not to say everyone else wasn't a help, they all were! they all chipped in and assisted her in getting her footing, but Shadow was someone she knew she could seriously rely on once customers started brewing in.

Shadow in turn was the only person to really work for Amy bc 1. he would not eat food without paying excessively (cough cough SONIC KNUCKLES cough cough) 2.) he actually knew how to take care of plants without killing them instantly, & 3.) he likes coffee and hanging out with Amy

Silver can't cook for shit, blame it on the environment he grew up in. he will both undercook and overcook his food at the same time in spotty places it's actually impressive. he's honestly happy as long as whatever he makes is at least halfway edible

Sonic and Tails live together more on the outer parts of Mobius City, near the open fields and the loops. Sonic can run to his heart's content and Tails doesn't have to worry about another lawsuit for blowing up the next door building (dont ask, tails will avoid questioning while Sonic just awkwardly looks off to the side)

Rouge, Shadow, and Omega all live together (they are a family your honor and i will not seperate them Sega can rip them out of my cold dead hands-)

they all live on top of the bar that Rouge owns

there's a back entrance that they also can enter from so any of the kids don't have to go through the bar to get to them

Amy's cafe has been open for almost 3 years, with her 3rd year anniversary coming up! (i'll incorporate it into a chapter

Shadow babysits Cream sometimes and takes her to the park

it's really funny seeing this dude decked in black leather and shades and this dead face holding hands with a girl who is basically the embodiment of Joy as he buys her ice cream

team chaotix all live together as well and they live closer to Vanilla and Cream and Amy as well (they all live somewhat close to each other

looking at this, i really do have to go back and draw out blue prints for Mobius City alongside everyone's houses. i feel like it'll be really fun.

I don't really think it's fair to dismiss the idea that that guy might have been framed for killing the CEO as like an unfounded conspiracy theory when NYPD has a proven history of planting/fabricating evidence on people. in 2011 there was a massive investigation of the NYPD and hundreds of cases against people were dismissed after a former police officer testified that they literally have a name for planting evidence on people: flaking. you cannot be out here acting like considering the possibility that cops who do this shit under normal circumstances might possibly also do it when they're under intense global pressure and scrutiny is the same as republicans thinking democrats run a secret pedophile ring in the basement of a pizza restaurant

'wah wah everywhere is falling to the right wing the whole world is doomed' literally like 6 months ago we were talking about how there was a trend in countries getting rid of their right wing governments. poland at the end of last year, france voted in a unified centre left/left alliance, even the UK finally got rid of the tories after 15 years (right wing splitting be damned, it still happened). outside of europe, bangladesh removed a dictator in like 2 seconds, india may have reelected their Evil Guy but on a DISTINCTLY reduced majority, theres been queer rights successes in thailand, with gay marriage set to be legal by 2025, and thereve been positive court cases on it in japan. and this is just stuff i vaguely remember hearing about. im sure theres more if you care to look for anything aside from more reasons to make yourself miserable

the US has a distinct effect on everyone, so this won't be fun for anyone (least of all its population. sorry guys), and there ARE a lot of people sliding into right wing extremism, but presenting this like its an unchallenged worldwide phenomenon is inaccurate, its damagingly bleak, and all it does is encourage despair and apathy. you DO have political power, and you shouldnt forget that just because of bad election results and the media's desperation to make you lose hope

and obviously you find yourself thinking oh i do wish i could get severed to do this one thing. would you actually maybe not. but you do wish you didn't have to undergo medical procedures you do wish you didn't have to do the things that give you anxiety you do wish you didn't have to do tedious tasks that barely even require you to be present for them. it's tempting. that's why the premise works. but the premise is also that somebody has to do it. somebody has to go to the dentist and somebody has to get on that plane and somebody has to write those thank you notes. just like somebody has to clean the house and somebody has to harvest the food you eat and somebody has to make the clothes you wear. you can't eliminate inconvenience you can only delegate it. you can't eliminate suffering you can only delegate it. and always the easiest way to live with this is to see that somebody as less than. less than you less than people. and if that somebody has to wear your body to do it well maybe it's not all that different. they're not a person. you are. it's capitalism all the way down baby
