#it might be a combo of tumblr and discord settings

I do think a lot of the problem and the reason that more people (like the ones who seem to think that "top/bottom as myers-briggs personality types" jokes are exclusively coming from female-centric fandom spaces rather than gay male offline culture - which, btw, ignores that a whole bunch if not most female fanfic writers are themselves queer and there's a similar set of jokes and stereotypes in the lesbian community, but I digress) don't seem to understand what offline queer culture is like on here is that way too many of the people setting the tone for this in The Discourse on Tumblr are very young people who are newly out. In particular, a huge amount of the gay men on here who are telling people how very Problematic this is (when they're getting it from gay men and not circular discourse among other women in fandom who are claiming to speak on gay men's behalf) is coming from young gay men who don't have much of a community offline, and especially young gay trans men who often aren't yet presenting as male outside of the Internet. It's really hard to talk about, because it so easily risks saying those people's identities aren't valid - and like, we've seen TERFs weaponize that discourse to suggest that gay trans men involved in fandom are just straight women who identified too hard with their blorbos or something, as well as the endless use of "passing privilege" to suggest that bi people in F/M relationships are "basically straight" - but I think one thing people need to understand better is the difference between "your identity is valid, your personal experiences with homophobia/transphobia/etc. are valid" and "your judgments about the larger community that your identity makes you a member of are valid." Like, you do actually have to participate in a community to be able to be able to talk about what the consensus in it is, what the cultural norms are. You have to actually look up the history in order to know that history. If you're going to speak on behalf of All Gay Men you probably should know some beyond yourself - including ones who are not Very Online and/or aren't active in fandom - and that goes for both cis and trans gay men. (And the same is true for every subdivision of LGBTQ+, I've seen similarly bizarre takes about "lesbian culture" from 17-yro lesbians who clearly haven't talked to any outside of Tumblr and insular, dramatic Discords.)
Like, to use an analogy here to another kind of oppression: say you have a black person who was adopted by a white family very young and lived in an exclusively white neighborhood and doesn't know any other black people. Obviously, they are still black, and obviously they still experience racism (probably especially because they're an outlier in that community). Obviously, their own understanding of their identity and their experiences with racism are valid. But they aren't necessarily going to have any better of an understanding of the broader black COMMUNITY - cultural traditions, history, etc. - than a non-black person who was similarly not exposed to that community. They can only speak for themselves. And someone who isn't black but grew up near/in black communities (for instance, perhaps another transracial adoptee who was adopted by a black couple? or even just a non-black person who grew up in a heavily black neighborhood) might actually have a better sense of that broader community/culture than they do.
And this isn't a hypothetical. I've heard stuff like that about feeling like outliers in black American culture from everyone from the aforementioned transracial adoptees; to multiracial black people who were raised primarily by their non-black family; to black people who are recent immigrants from Africa rather than descendants of slaves; to black people from Europe or other parts of the Americas, who have some similarities in their culture but it's not completely 1:1. And especially from people who are some combo of the above. They have an understanding of themselves as black and of their relationship to race and racism, of course, but don't really feel like they have a particularly strong understanding of The Black Community or The Black Experience as we understand it in the USA.
I think what a lot of people don't understand is that newly-out queer people are often like that. A lot of other marginalized identities - like being a cis woman (this applies less to trans women unless they've known from early on) or being a POC - are ones where you grow up with an understanding of what that means and often a connection to a broader community that gives you some kind of consciousness of what it means to be A Woman or Black or Asian or whatever. But with queerness, it's usually not something you fully understand about yourself until adolescence or adulthood, and even when you do, you don't necessarily have access to a "community" around that until that age because you're probably being raised by cis straight people. You have to take time to discover that community and learn about it, and the culture and history that goes with, and when you start out you're going to be just as ignorant as a straight cis person who is similarly isolated from queer communities. (And frankly, a straight person with a lot of gay friends might know better than you do at first! As a lesbian with a lot of gay male friends, most of whom couldn't care less about my slash fanfic hobby if they even know about it, that's precisely why I know that these takes on Tumblr are so bizarre)
(Disability is the interesting one because it sometimes overlaps with this, sometimes doesn't - and one of the big divides in the community IME is around people who have lifelong understandings of themselves as "disabled" vs. came to it more recently, whether because the disability itself is a new thing or just their diagnosis of it. A lot of people in the second group can have very similar experiences and act in similar ways to newly-out queer people, and I know because I've lived both myself, lol.)
I think people have taken the idea of "everyone is the best expert on their own experience with oppression and their own identity" and distorted that into some weird essentialism where being gay or bi or trans or whatever gives you automatic understanding of "queer culture" or "queer history" without having to do the actual work of talking to people, participating in that community, studying history, etc. but that's just not true. Anyone can study that history and get to know those people. And yeah, as a queer or trans person you'll have a better opportunity to really deeply know and be part of that community than straight cis people with queer friends ever will, but you still have to like. Actually put yourself out there! You're not going to find it by just discoursing in a vacuum of ignorance.
--
Sadly, to all the Olds, this is very, very obvious, but there's no way to make it obvious to the people doing it. It's a matter of experience.

//hi, I see blogs like this and it looks like fun, I'm thinking of joining in on the fun and making something similar(might not), any unspoken rules or tips you could sare with me?
ooc: Ironically I only joined the community recently - everyone here is super great and friendly! I highly recommend joining in on the fun!
Here is a list of tips to get the most out of Pokeblr: (Note this is not comprehensive; just things that i noticed during my very brief time here)
Joining Discord Servers:
There is quite a few of them, and a lot of planning and organization for events and plot lines goes on behind the 'curtain' so to speak. There is a little list of a few I know of: Pokeblr 18+ - I'm on this one!! People here are great! Its only for people who are 18 or older. realpokemon - Massive amount of people :) PKMNIRL RP chat - Smaller, or so I'm told. its been recommended to me but I've never actually joined.
There are probably a ton more; but joining servers is a great way to make friends and get the most out of the community.
Etiquette and Common Courtesy:
Communicate: If you want to be a part of a event, or do a more organized RP with someone - MAKE SURE THEY ARE OKAY WITH IT! I've seen people inserting themselves into stories, using other people's characters without permission and taking over plot lines that have already been planned. Just ask! people are super great with adding newcomers into their plots!
Interact: Reblogging, commenting, leaving tags and sending people asks are great ways to talk with other people. Reading people's intro/pinned post is also very important - some people do not want to RP with specific blog types. I personally only really interact with human-run blogs and avoid pokemon-run blogs and wildly non-canon or time travel/divergent canon blogs. Its' a combo of my personal ethics (i would personally overthink the concept of speaking, highly intelligent Pokemon, and the laws that go along with it) but mostly has to do with the stories I want to tell. If I'm not interested, or not having fun, then I'm not going to interact.
Do your Own Thing!: This might seem counter-productive to the 'interact' tip; but hounding people and 'chasing trends' so to speak isn't where the fun is. This is an RP community at its' core - you should spend some time building up who you want your character to be and forming your own personality on the site. - Here is a great post by @pokemoncenter sharing advice on how to make a character. It is VERY good advice! (Fun Fact: I didn't even have Honey's name when I started the blog; she gained one as I went.)
Following Blogs: Follow as many people as you can. I am not kidding. I have 174 people I'm technically following at the time of writing this post. Do I interact with all of them? NO! But it keeps me updated on most parts of the community, even parts that I personally have no interest in. Plus it's fun to watch other people's plotlines even if you are not in it! (You can always unfollow people once you find your niche)
Blocking and DNI: Kind of a repeat of the 'Interact' tip, but its worth talking about. If a plot line or topic makes you uncomfortable, blocking is a valid option. You don't always have the right to tell someone to stop; but you do have the power to tailor your experience. Make sure to respect other people's boundaries, and don't be afraid to set boundaries for your blog as well! If you aren't sure what someone's boundaries are - ASK THEM! I cannot emphasis how important it is to communicate with others. (Note: If a post violates the Tumblr Community Guidelines and the person doesn't take it down, report it. No RP or arguing can solve that.)
In all honesty - you get out what you put into it. I spend a while making a PDF 'Missing Pokemon' form for the Ranger Union to compliment the current plot line I am involved in and people love it!
In conclusion - have fun, ask questions and don't be afraid to make a couple of blogs/side blogs and try out what characters and portions of the community that you like the most.
Hope to see you around here soon!

Question Compendium
These are all the questions that have been asked so far on Tumblr and Discord! Be sure to check this post every so often, since I’ll be updating it instead of making new posts!
Discord:
whats ur all time favorite creature type? (ghoulCaclulator) Hmm, it's a tough one, but I think the answer is (just barely) Fractal.
Favorite color pair that doesn't include your favorite color? (Curio) Oooh that's a very interesting question. Gonna go with Rakdos.
which is better, doubling something or copying something (Viser, 3 rats in a toad suit) I... Love them both? Honestly gonna say copying.
I think I have already figured out from your favourite cards but just to be sure: aggro, control or combo? (NicolBolas96) Depends on the format, honestly. I play EDH the most, and there i like a healthy mix of midrange/control.
Favourite faction that isnt a guild? (y12dk) Might be some recency bias here, but I do really like the vibe of the Maestros.
favorite non mtg franchise? (GlassBass) Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive! That being said, please keep submissions within Magic IP for this week.
Recent limited/constructed archetype you felt was done dirty? (bearscape appreciator) Hmm, gonna need more clarity on "done dirty". As in, I liked the archetype in theory but the cards themselves just didn't support it? In that case, Prismari Big Spell from Strixhaven.
 Favorite plane? (Pocket) That one's actually a three way tie, but I'm not gonna tell you all of them, so pick a number between 1 and 3 (Picked 3) Arcavios.
...of the cards you've submitted to the fair (or as an example, doesnt hafta be an entry), which is your favorite? (Florence) This might not be my absolute favorite cause I've done wayy too many submissions, but after a cursory search, I remember being very happy with this one:
Tumblr media
10. Between 100 duck-sized horses or one horse-sized duck, what animal encounter do you feel you would have the easiest time surviving, and by what method? (Abelzumi) 100 duck sized horses, easy. As someone who worked with horses, they only things that are remotely scary about them all depend on their size. Their kicks and bites at normal size would turn me into paste, but at duck size? Barely even a bruise. Plus, ducks are MEAN and a horse-sized one wouldn't even fear god like normal ducks do. I would perish just from making eye contact with it. 11. Do you like proactive, reactive, or flexible effects more? (Allie) I was wondering if people would pick up on that throughline, haha. Flexible for sure. 12. Are there any examples of printed cards where you initially didn't like the design, but you eventually came around on it? (Teaxch) This is taking your question a bit to the left, but when it first came out, I really didn't like how Boast looked to me, but after playing with it I loved it. 13. what is your favourite interaction between two printed cards ? (could be a combo or a nonbo) (SimSim) Hmm, that's tough. Off the top of my head, I like [[Hinata]] and [[launch the fleet]]? Or any X card that Hinata basically makes free. 14. If you could make it so one commander-format-legal card had never been printed, what card would you unexist? (Reaperfromtheabyss) Honestly, I think I have to say [[sol ring]]. It's probably the cop out answer, but it just creates such a split early game between haves and have-nots, and usually ends up with one person getting ganged up on even well after they lost the advantage from the ring. 15. what's your favorite graveyard recycling mechanic? Stuff that only works once like flashback, embalm, scavenge, etc.  (demimonde-semigoddess) Hmm, if it has to be a one-time-only thing, then Encore. Otherwise, Retrace. 16. who is your favorite non-planeswalker character in the Magic universe? (excluding Un- sets and Planar Chaos Alternate Timelines) (Gollumni) It’s probably Yahenni. 17. Tonally, do you generally prefer cards/sets that are more lighthearted or serious? (HIYgamer) Honestly, gonna kinda cop out here and say... both? My favorite part about Magic is how wildly different the tone can be set-to-set. If it was all serious or all lighthearted, I think I would get bored. So, the answer is, I like a good balance between the two.
Tumblr
Question for Naban, in regards to this week's contest, which set is your favorite limited format, if any? (deg99) You might be seeing this answer for a few different questions, but Battlebond is by far my favorite Limited experience!
For Naban... LEAST favourite type of permanent? (dimestoretajic) Hmmm... I dont know if I can really say I dislike any permanent type. They all do different, neat things? I like them all, but if I absolutely have to pick one that I dont like quite as much as the others, it would be lands, since they're helpful in playing other cards but rarely stand on their own as cool cards.
For the Inventor's Fair contest.  What is your favorite color combination for Commander? (azathoth-the-bored) That's definitely a difficult one to answer. As someone who is going through the 32-deck challenge, I find that there's a lot of fun stuff to do with pretty much any color combination. That said, the only combos I have multiple decks of are Boros, Grixis, and 5-color, so make of that what you will!
For the inventors faire contest, do you enjoy cascade as a mechanic? (nemat0n) As a mechanic? Yeah, absolutely. In terms of "cards I've seen with cascade I actually want to play with", there aren't that many. Cascade is a mechanic I like the potential of, let's put it that way.

✨ao3 wrapped 2022✨
Felt tagged by cinematicnomad, thx for that!
Works published: 77, and I'm just 4 fics shy of a total amount of 500 works on Ao3, taking prompts atm to crack that nice number before the end of the year!
Word count: 158,133 which means I surpassed my goal of 150k for the year! I knew I'd never make it to the record breaking 500 of last year, what with studying and working cutting into the fandom time, but I did set myself that goal to try and keep up with my writing at least a bit, and I made it past the goal just this week! & It's actually a bit more than the current number because a gift fic is still in my draft until the 31st.
Kudos: 2443
Hits: 26768
Bookmarks: 201
Subscriptions: 75 (& 138 user subscriptions which I think isn't this year's, but just the current amount? Also, Why does anyone subscribe on Ao3 instead of using bookmarks, it just cloggs the email adsfg)
most popular by kudos: Love me for me at 282
most hits: also love me for me 3195 (I think that's a Mirandy fic? Ao3 stats don't link to the actual work, just showing me the name and amount. I could go to my works & filter for it but I'm feeling lazy)(edit: had to anyway bc of another q later on and yes it's Mirandy! It's just the biggest fandom I'm in at the moment, other fics might just have gotten 30 kudos but then I know literally everyone in for example the Gunpowder Milkshake fandom read it xD so these stats really don't mean a lot without context)
longest: death can't part us, distance might 9k I know that one, TOG reverse bang! I didn't write very long stories this year, barely had the time to finish oneshots before forgetting about the plot, definitely didn't get around to writing any longfics!
shortest: jeesh now I did have to go to works & filter... There are a bunch of '0 words' visual works, but the shortest actual fics are a bunch of drabbles (exactly 100 words each), I wrote 17 of them this year
most comments: here to learn another Mirandy fic. Lovely how active that fandom is!
fics that made me cry: of my own fics?? Idk maybe this Milippa fic. By other people? Lots! Can't think of any atm though either, but if you filter my bookmarks for angst or h/c it's probably everything you find there
fics that made me smile: Goncharov :):):) just the fandom in general but Katfia and the fact that it's the main ship of the fandom & I wrote 15 ficlets already makes me smile a lot :)
gifts: I got a bunch of gift exchange gifts actually from 2021 exchanges, then some where I sent prompts for the fics, and one Mirandy fic where the idea for the fic was mine. I gave 13 gifts as well for various reasons
collaborations: two Andromaquynh reverse bang gift&art combos with @wrenaspun @unjapanologist , and a Mirandy collab discord writing challenge thingy with @guardianrock @stupidsexycopshows @scarlet-heels (does Alyssa have a tumblr?), it was fun!
events: reverse bang, gift exchanges, most recently the Berena winter songfic event by the amazing @batnbreakfast and @ktlsyrtis and the still ongoing Bering and Wells exchange by @purlturtle and Mirandy by @stupidsexycopshows <3
Tagging everyone I've already tagged above, @sterenheart @mako-and-tails-and-stuff @cookie-sheet-toboggan and any other writer mutuals who see this, only if you want to of course!

WIP Update - 27 Sep 2022
I had an amazingly productive week  - I touched 6 fics (2 WIPs & 4 new works) for a total of 4273 words!
I posted a new chapter of the  Stucky--> Stuckony non-traditional a/b/o @psychiccatpanda and I have been collab’ing on to Ao3 - we’ve got the final chapter & an epilogue in draft as we speak!. I also posted a Stony ficlet  here on Tumblr for last week’s  @flashfictionfridayofficial that also  filled an SRB square.  I also posted two fills for the Stuckony Summer Stockings that will be revealed on  Saturday!
I’m stiil at 14 active WIPs  (with a couple of maybe TBCs)  with my current   deadlines being  @suck-tember, and the October writing challenges I hope to participate in:  @fictober-event,  @flufftober & @whumptober.  The @reforgedzine  deadline is also looming large.
See below cut for the WIPs  (arranged more or less by bingos/challenges/etc) I am working on  -   feel free to send me prompts or plot bunnies as well as asks regarding any of these projects   (or any other WIPs I’ve got out there) – they really help feed the Muse and keep me motivated!
Stuckony Summer Stockings [due 25 Sep]
This fun gift event (run by the  @stb-bingo mods) lets you share prompts for others to fill.  There’s an initial anonymous reveal on October 1st, then the creator names will be revealed on the 8th.
I wrote a quickie Stuckony smutfic that came in at 587 words and a longer domestic fluff WinterIron kidfic with potential Stuckony endgame that it came in at 1374 words.
Suck-tember [ Runs thru 30 Sep]
As you might guess from the name,  @suck-tember  is a writing event focused on oral gratification.   I read through the list of prompts and decided to try to combine a few with my bingo squares.  I’ve posted 1 so far  (Day 2: Swollen) and would like to try for 1 or 2 more - maybe the alternate dialog prompts? Here they are if anyone would like to throw me a pairing/plot bunny:
A. “How does it taste?” B. “Have you done this before?” C. “What are you waiting for?” D. “Take a deep breath.” E. “You look so pretty like this.” F. “Open wide.”
Reforged - A WinterIron Zine [Deadline 12 Nov]
I got accepted to submit a  1k-3.5k fic for this project, and have submitted a basic idea & completed my first checkin.    Am poking at it little by little; it’s sitting at  2531 words - so over two-thirds done word-wise.   Plot wise? That’s still TBD…  I have very broad strokes in mind that are going to be tricky to get done in the words I have left…   :: eek::  Got some good feedback from the @reforgedzine   mods that I need to respond to - much appreciated!
Avengers Bingo [AvB] (Runs thru 24 Dec)
Seven fills posted (5 to Ao3)  and 0 WIPs - I decided to further challenge myself on this 16-square card by pairing up each square with a unique combo of 2 original MCU Avengers, with the final square being PolyVengers. With the help of the STB Enthusiasts Discord folks - I’ve got all 16 squares  planned out, at least in terms of who to write about, and half of them have some sort of idea or crossover square to go along with them. Feel free to toss other plot  bunnies my way…
* A3 - Reunited  -  posted   Making a Different Call   this morning - an Endgame-compliant Natasha POV retelling of reuniting with Clint.  It  came in at  364 words
* B1 - Death - thanks to last week’s  Flash Fiction Friday prompt   [#FFF168 Sleepless Nights],  I put together Moments Where the Words Don’t Reach  - a short Steve POV  piece set post  A:IW that also combines my SRB Bruce Banner and MWAPB Crying squares.  It came in at 544 words and will be posted to Ao3 sometime in the next week or two.
* B3 - Road Trip  -  Bruce & Thor  - Post Grandmaster, pre-Thanos  space shenanigans
* B4 - Age Gap   - Thor/Tony - possible crossover with TSB One Night Stand  (obvious title: Thunderstruck)
* C1 - Opposites Attract - Clint/Thor  - there was a fun Tumblr  headcanon going around about a Bumbling Foreigner whose ignorance of  local customs  results in him flirting with/proposing to the prince -  this seems like a perfect matchup!
* C3 - Reincarnation AU  -  Natasha & Tony  - post-Endgame.
* D1 - Friends w/ Benefits  - Clint/Steve - crossover with MWAPB Hawkeye/Clint Barton and possibly SRB - Never Have I Ever
* D2 - Romeo & Juliet AU  -  basic idea:  Steve (jock) & Tony  (geek) trying out for title roles in R&J - despite their respective  FWB groups thinking it’s a terrible idea.  Title:  Two Polycules, Alike in Dignity
*  D3 - Bed Sharing  -  Bruce/Natasha - AoU compliant.
Man With a Plan (Steve Rogers) Bingo [MWAPB] (Runs thru 31 Dec)
Ten fills, 2 WIPs and several Vague Ideas/potential cross fills with other bingos.  Prompts cheerfully accepted!
* B3 - Farmer’s Market  -  crossover with TSB Doing Groceries. Moodboard + ficlet?
* B4 - Powerless AU  - Pivoted to combine this with my SRB  FREE square for a bingo, along with the Stucky Bingo Friends to Lovers square for a  “let’s get married for health insurance”  ficlet  - In Sickness and In Health is coming in at 1035 words and will post Friday,
* I1 - Steve is here for TFAtWS  - this might go well with my BBB  “Oh, hell no"  square - Steve trolling  Bucky & Sam by sending the old man in with his shield?  (moodboard & ficlet?)
* I5 - Dogsitting - possible crossover with  BBB “Run”  square - Steve & Bucky dogsitting for Lucky?  (moodboard + ficlet)
* N1 - School AU/Teacher AU  - if I decide to continue on with Technicalities   - I could fill this square  :: ponders::
* N3 - Online shopping - this might be fun as a crossover with BBB Thighs  Sam buys a revealing swimsuit for Bucky as a gag that gets Steve in a tizzy.
* N4 - Soulmates -  got inspired by a dream to start a Stucky fantasy AU (magician!Steve/ensorcelled!Bucky) that @bill-longbow  is collaborating on with me.  This will also fill my Stucky Bingo AU: Supernatural square.  We’re currently sitting at 1640 words  (984-ish of which are mine). Current Last Line:  "My men will accompany you back to Brookline in the morning.”
* G4 - Canon Divergence post CA:TWS - possible  crossover with BBB  Kill List – Bucky wreaking havoc on Hydra bases and  Steve & Sam catch up with him
* G5 - Friends to Lovers -  might use this for Chapter 3 of Mutual Pinning
* O1 - Crying - see AvB Death square above
*  O2 - Sex Pollen  -  Teenage Groot pollen =  aphrodisiac  hi-jinks. Quill & Gamora  warn the  couple (stucky)/throuple (Stuckony)  ahead of time, so no  dub-con.
* O3 - Hawkeye/Clint Barton  -  see AvB - Friends w/ Benefits  above.
StarkBucks Bingo - Round 3  (SBB_R3) - Ends 31 Dec
5 fills, 1 WIPs and several Vague Ideas - soliciting plot bunnies or other kick-starters.
* B1 - “I wouldn’t mind wasting my time on you.“  - Possible crossover with  BBB - KINK: Seduction Mission?
* B3 - AU: Canon Divergence -  combining this with TSB Canon Divergent: Nobody Dies   by pulling together some leftovers/discards from “ Ain’t No Party Like a ‘Saved the Universe’ Party”.  Clearing the Air is currently coming in at 770 words and will get posted sometime next month.
* I2 - Mistaken Identity - crossover with TSB K5 - Protectiveness -  “The Mechanic, The Soldier & The Artist” - mob/assassin AU with a Mr. & Mrs. Smith twist?
* I4 - Canon: Avengers Academy  - will probably do Stuffed Marvels sketches of Tony and Winter, as I know very little about the game/canon.
* I5 - Matchmaker Bots - possible crossover with TSB Occupational Hazard
* N2 - Blanket - Thanks to the July BBB Discord party , I have an idea for combining this with my TSB   AU: College square and BBB Funeral square.
* G3 - “This might as well happen.” Going to see if I can squish this into a Stucky –> Stuckony spur-of-the-moment threesome fic inspired by a series of posts with @needyoucap over on the STB Enthusiasts Discord server that in turn led to their WIP  Steve & Bucky’s Sexy Bucket List.  My version (alternating POV)  is sitting at  1049 words and will also fill my TSB square  Hindsight.
* O1 - Royalty - crossover with TSB - IronWidow  &  BBB   AU: Arranged Marriage -  pick Lady Natasha’s Consort and Lord Steve’s Companion  back up?
* O6 - AU: Biker  - Grease 2  fusion  anyone?  😁  I watched the movie a couple of weeks ago and took notes -  It’s not gonna be a faithful adaptation, but hopefully fun - tho am having a tough time deciding who is Michael (probably Bucky, tho a case could be made for Tony)
Hero Hardships Bingo  [HHB]  (Runs thru 31 Dec)
One fill so far  with a few Vague Ideas …
* I3 - Unimaginable Grief  – I‘m thinking an post-Endgame Rhodey POV would work nicely here…
* O3 - Dating a civilian -  this would fit perfectly with another chapter of Takin’ What They’re Givin’ (‘Cause I’m Workin’ for a Livin’) , for which I currently have a basic plot point or two rolling around in my head.
Bucky Barnes Bingo - Round 4 [BBB_R4] (Runs thru 7 Jan 2023)
Ten fills,  four WIPs  & ideas for everything except one square  - Working on a Column B bingo to start.
* B2 - Funeral - see SBB N2 - Blanket  above
* B3 - Sam Wilson|Falcon - this would be a good candidate for a continuation of After One Or Two False Starts
* U2 - AU: Roommate  - Still wanting to use the Meet Ugly prompt: 02. I bought a house three months ago but I’m finally moving in and discover you’ve been squatting because you’re homeless    – probably WinterHawk with  recovering!Bucky being the squatter in Clint’s apartment building.
* U4 - AU: Arranged Marriage - will probably pick Lady Natasha’s Consort and Lord Steve’s Companion  back up for this one.
* U5 - Kill List -  see MWAP  - G4 - Canon Divergence.  Post CA:TWS above
* C2 - “Oh, hell no” - possible crossover with MWAP I1 - Steve is here for TFaWS
* C4 - KINK: Aftercare -  possibly MWAP Sex Pollen or  TSB KINK: Concubine
*C5 - “This might as well happen” -  Used this for the Sept BBB Round Robin  (crackfic - Emperor’s New Groove inspired)  wrote 276 words toward it  - not sure if/when it will post,  but will add a link when it does.   😁
* K1 - Thighs - combined this with with SRB Game Night  and HHB Hiding Discomfort for a 3 Prompts --> Summary game  that I may turn into a BarberShop Quartet (Steve/Bucky/Natasha/Sam) ficlet.  (tho the HHB prompt will probably get saved for Whumptober, if I participate)
* K2 - Comics - sew the  Stuffed Marvel Classic Comics Bucky Barnes I drew up for Bucky’s birthday.
* K3 - KINK: Edging  - crossing over with TSB KINK: Orgasm Denial/Edging & I finally got a start on the WinterIron PWP for this (Bucky POV with toy play and Tony as a power bottom)  Hanging by a Moment is sitting at 96 words at the moment.
* Y2 - Never the fall that kills you -  this might be the title for a reverse hanahaki WinterIron prompt from @lacrimula-falsa ….
* Y3 - “Run”  -  see MWAP I5 - Dogsitting above.

20 Questions: Writer’s Edition
Thanks for the tag : @justeweli
How many works do you have on AO3?
I have an old AO3 account from my teens with probably 30+ fics, and an even older FF.net account with probably 70+, but just 2 so far on my current AO3. I’ve only just gotten back into the game this past year.
What’s your total AO3 word count?
For just my active AO3, 4526 LMAO. I am not a longfic person.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
I think... 6? I'm definitely forgetting some (I’ve been writing fanfic since I was 11 man), but approximately in order, it goes: Harry Potter, Glee, White Collar, Supernatural, Black Sails, and Lost in Space.
What are your top five fics by kudos?
Again I only have 2 published atm lol, but Something Beyond has more kudos than Someday, You Will.
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Yes! After publishing my first comeback fic I did get in my head about whether I “should” be replying to comments and whether my replies were repetitive and annoying, but by the time I published my second I was like fuck that.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I think I definitely wrote Major Character Death fic in my teens, but currently Someday, You Will has the least hopeful ending, for sure. It’s more melancholy than outright angsty though, I would say.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
My Lost in Space WIP will definitely have the happiest ending of my current fics. I’m not sure what my happiest would’ve been in the old days.
Do you write crossovers? If yes, what’s the craziest thing you’ve written?
Crossovers were my specialty in the roleplaying community so if that counts, there have been some real ridiculous ones LMAO. Characters from Glee and The Magicians put into the world of Gossip Girl might be my most out there one dkfjdkjg. In terms of fic though, I would need to check my old AO3 to remember the crossovers I wrote and I simply am not brave enough for that.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I had a few thousand followers at the height of tumblr fandom (like 2009-2012) which at the time was enough to enter “gets hate for breathing” territory, so I’m sure I did but I don’t remember specifics.
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I do :) Mostly polyam, mostly kinky, always queer. Any gender combo. I don’t have any published on my current AO3 atm but I have one fic that will have M/M, M/F, and M/M/F smut in it, and another that’s also M/M/F, in progress. And I’m doing F/F smut with Tim for the zine :)
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I’m aware of, but maybe.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
One! I can’t remember if it was Harry Potter or Glee, but someone very kindly asked to translate it, I think into Russian? God my memory is bad.
Have you ever co-written a fic?
Not a fic but I roleplayed for years, which is basically co-writing. I have 2 Discord servers in particular that are essentially just me writing plot after plot after plot with my friends. And like I said, I’ll be co-writing with Tim soon (awooga).
What’s your all-time favourite ship?
I’ve always been an avid multishipper so it’s hard to choose just one. Wolfstar is my longest enduring ship so I’ll say that.
What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
My introspective Flint WIP.... :( It’s just so long and I’m so bad at longfic.
What’s your writing strengths?
Character voice, I think, and setting the narrative tone? I’m good at shifting the way I narrate the prose depending on the POV character. Like Madi from Black Sails and Don from Lost in Space require very different narration styles lmfao.
What’s your writing weaknesses?
The physical act of writing dkfjgdkgjd and also length.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?
For me personally, as long as it’s not too much and you provide the translation in the notes (and you actually know the language instead of just Google Translating it lmao), it’s fine.
But also if you want to write a fic specifically for fellow bilinguals to enjoy, that’s cool. I’m not the target demographic so my opinion is irrelevant.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter.
What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
In adulthood, my favourite is probably my Lost in Space WIP. I think it’s really fun and I’m excited to finish it, hopefully before S3 comes out if I have the energy.
From my teens, I wrote a few fics creating logic and character depth out of some of Glee’s antics and that was always fun and well-received.
Tagging :  @dykebonny @queer-crusader @jaynovz @thegreatblondebalrogslayer ... I can’t remember who else writes fic but if you do, pls steal this from me.

Final 2020 Update: 2021 Goals!!
Cross posting from my devART
Also links to all my alts and shit will be at the end of the post if you need them!
So some of these may be unrealistic due to my struggles with ADHD/Depression Combo but. I wanted to get these down somewhere so you guys can see them and be aware..
Please note, my executive functioning abilities are absolutely Butchered on the regular by my ADHD alone, and the various stressors of 2020 have absolutely taken anything else I might have had in that department and tossed it out the window.
Something something something, financial stressors outside of my control sends me into shut down mode and I can't do anything productive or even fun until it's handled, but because I'm not doing anything productive, I'm not making any money, and the stressors gets worse and worse and it just ends up in a horrible cycle where I constantly want to die because I'm not able to create anything to relieve the stress! Which is why you've all seen... pretty much a standstill on my productivity save one or two pieces a month if I'm lucky
That said, I'm going to start trying (hopefully with some outside help/accountability to keep me on track while I'm unmedicated) to put a system in place that doesn't make me constantly want to die while like. maybe actually getting stuff done! So I'm making some optimistic goals for 2021 regarding both my art and ability to make money, so here goes!
I'm breaking this down into 3 parts:
Changes to expect regarding my social media, commissions in general, posting, etc;
Overall Goals for 2021;
and Goals for January specifically.
Changes to expect going forward from here:
I'm going to be making some changes regarding my social media accounts, including this one, mostly concerning when, where, and how I'm posting.
I am also going to be making some changes to my commission policies, prices, and payments in the coming year, namely:
Lastly, I will be making some changes to my art discord server!
Moving forward, I am going to be MOST active on my twitter and tumblr accounts. They're just easier for me to maintain in general, and although I hate twitter's formatting, it's just easier and faster, and frankly after deviantART and Instagram fucked with their websites/algorithms, it just makes the most sense for me as an artist.
I'm also going to be making an effort to make scheduled cross-posts on all my accounts. In the past, I've been really irregular about when and where I post things (most things got posted to my old tumblr account but never here, i rarely remember to post to instagram, etc).
This is going to include commission slots, finished piece dumps, etc.
I will also be making an effort to semi-regularly post sketch dumps, both digitial and traditional. I am also considering at this time offering a monthly digital download of my sketch collections, though I am undecided as I'm not really sure how many people would be interested.
Increasing commissions prices to reflect time spent working on specific commission types, as well as my personal cost of living.
Planning and announcing commission slots in advance.
Taking and finishing regular commissions to cover living expenses on a monthly basis
Payments will be exclusively through paypal invoice, and will be broken up in halves: first half will be taken up front after I have started and given proof of start (base sketch), the second half will be paid after completion, with WIPS given between first and second payment. Fully completed art will be given after receipt of second half. This is both for my personal protection as an artist, as well as for the comfort of the commissioner as my completion time can sometimes be long due to my ADHD/executive dysfunction.
Moving forward into 2020, my discord will be SFW, but 18+ only. This is a personal comfort thing. I'm 25 years old now, and just really don't want to spend time hanging out with teenagers.
I'm also going to start trying to schedule art streams again! Since this is the only place I can live stream due to my art computer's limitations, it just makes sense to like. Schedule them so more people are able to attend. I haven't decided exactly how that's going to look, but once I have I'm going to make an announcement and formatting guide somewhere for people to see so they can make an informed decision about joining the server.
I will also be regularly posting in the server again. This may or may not be cross posts from twitter and such, we'll see, but I DO plan on being more active there since it's been kind of dead.
I may also reformat the whole server again. We'll see!
Goals for 2021
Regular Adopt Sets -- 2-3 per month. Size, price, and number in set will be decided on case by case basis.
I'll be doing a monthly prompt for myself as well. This is just to get me back in the habit of creating things I like for myself to just feel... less bad about my art in general, and about making art. Also it'll be good for my artistic development i think?
Keeping a monthly sketchbook for warm-ups and in-between pieces. May be offered as a paid download at the end of the month, we'll see.
Might start a patreon? This is EXTREMELY dependent on what my userbase looks like. Tiers and rewards to be decided at a later date
Regular traditional sketches + scan and upload of said sketches. May also be offered in the monthly sketchbook.
Draw more self portraits & self-expression pieces! I don't know if any of yall realize how repressed I've been in the last year without therapy, and I did't either until I forced myself to pursue a vent piece earlier this month, and then felt immensely better afterward so. Going to start doing that! Maybe I'll feel better weee
Regular posting to social media! (see changes above)
Drawing less fantrolls bc I'm just bleh about them lately, drawing more original content!
Drawing fancontent that ISN'T homestuck? We'll see but I'd like to. I don't usually draw fan art bc like. Idk in my mind I don't feel like my interpretation of things is important or cool and I think thats a confidence thing and I'd like to change that so! I'm gonna start making more fan content.
Draw more full illustrations & backgrounds in general because I actually enjoy doing them it turns out?
Practice painting more !! Both traditionally and digitally....
Goals for January 2021
Finish at LEAST 1/4 of my art queue. I'm shooting for half, really, because fully completing it might actually kill me but! We'll see! Maybe I'll surprise myself. But I'm setting the goal low to keep my mental health problems in mind.
Finish and release the base set i've been working on, on and off. It's an homage to  the old pixel doll days of 2009-2012, and the full sheet will be free to use (with stipulations, as I have some people blocked that I don't want using it). BUT! There will also be a mix and match .psd that will be pay to use (it'll be pay to use a, bc it'll be huge, and b, bc the edits to make it mix and match results in like 6 seperate bases in general so.... yeah. pay to use)
Finish the pay-to-use base pack i started in june (i may scrap and restart though, we'll see)
Possibly release all old p2u bases of mine in one pack on gumroad? price tbd but it will include old iterations as well as unreleased remakes.
Making some dainty-specific bases! One will be f2u, one will be p2u.
I have a whole dainty YCH set for january! I just have to finish the example... (:
Perhaps I'll be announcing a collaborative project later in the month! It depends on where each of us are at, at the time! We'll see! (: You should be excited though! It'll be a ton of fun!

RQG Discord
So hi,  I was mentioning something about the discord in my live blog of RQG 99,  and it occurred to me that I should probably mention that I am now on there.  I want to be the kind of person that makes civilized post with great insight about Discord Vs Tumblr, but mostly I want to yell that I love everyone in this bar. I have never used a discord before and (makes vague hand gestures at things like I just wrote the live blog for episode 99 the current episode is 131 but am posting this after my live blog of episode 77) you've seen what I'm like;  so it's going to be a while before I quit lurking and post.  I started at the beginning of the the RQG specific discord and am working my way towards the present. Why yes, that is a lot of scrolling every time I open the page,  but the pins help. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to join, even if I'm not posting it's good to hang around the fandom. Honestly between the show and the fandom my standards are so raised. I keep being surprised by things like how many people put their pronouns in their handle, and how no one makes a fuss about not using standard combos, then realizing that making room for people like me isn't too big of an ask. BTW I want to hug everyone of you using a name that "matches" your pronouns and still puts them in your handle. Especially since no one has put Name(gender) instead of Name(pronouns), the way you kids get name doesn’t equal gender doesn't equal pronouns, is giving me life. But on a lighter note, no one is being mean to the mods or throwing a fit when someone suggests that they should take a conversation to another board. No one is being a jerk to the cast or flipping out if someone criticizes their fav/defends their anti fav. We even have a Bertie or two fan who are up to date and the worst it's gotten is like "but... " "I know but we aren't going to change eachother's minds". Seeing this in action isn't why I love this forum, there are so many reasons to love this forum, but it is why I won't be going back to some of the hostile places I used to chalk up to "what the internet is like". Also I love every single one of this fandom, including you, lurker who is reading this without having posted a word anywhere. We have fan artists, authors,  someone is making a Sasha Barbie, I am pretty sure a couple of you invented new ways to be creative with RQG, and they are all rightly celebrated without anyone trying to compare them or tear someone down for not getting things exactly according to canon. I also love how the transcripts and closed captions started so organically with people stepping up to work together and people aren't getting snitty about what isn't done yet (you have no idea how tired I am of people volunteering their own time to do something for the fandom only to be effectively driven out by people demanding they produce perfectly at a rate you wouldn't get from a hired team). We have someone going through to mark every time they sleep and instead of hassle about that being an unusual way to relisten people are being grateful and combine it with an independent effort to figure out the timeline. I love everyone of you who linked to songs from Galavant or shared a D&D meme or made your own meme. I love those of you who share anything about setting yourself on fire or blowing yourself up with #Hamid, even though I'm not there yet. I love Bryn for giving his character a long name because whenever someone posts a fireball fail joke I can mutter "Hamid Saleh Haroun al Tahan, what did you do!?!" and it is so satisfying (even if I am pretty sure I know exactly what he is going to do). I love the people who ask about how obscure bits of history work in this verse, I love the people who ask for context to understand the question, and I especially love everyone who cheerfully explains and simplifies history so no one feels left out or embarrassed. I love everyone who is coming in late like me, and posts to say that they just met Azu and would die for her. I love everyone who is up to date, and instead of telling them to binge faster, simply replies by embracing their new fan friend and assuring them that we would all die for Azu, except we think it might make her sad. I love how gracious Helen is every time we post about Azu, even when she has to repeat herself, like on Azu coming from a town so small they don't have last names. I love Anil and all the mods, and the fandom for getting that without mods the discord wouldn't stay the wonderful place it is. I have a post somewhere about loving Bryn and Lydia so much it makes me kinder to myself so I trust you'll forgive me for not going on about how great they are on the discord as well. I don't just respect Alex's craft in the game, I love how we can post about him by name and he never gets insulted by us calling him evil, but still cheerfully swings by to answer questions. I love Ben, how he gets into Grizzop's thoughts and both the watsonian and doyalist reasons for what he does. (I am also looking forward to reading his posts during the time the episode with Zolf's return is recorded but in the buffer so fans won't know for weeks. My current bet is I won't be able to tell when the buffer starts because Ben is a healthier version of Zolf in terms of playing things so close to his chest you can forget he is playing). In short, I love everyone in the discord,   (probably everyone in the fandom) and thank you all with especial gratitude for those of you who encouraged me to join the discord. I hope you can forgive me for tossing this at my queue and running without too much editing; I am working on my shyness but you all need to know how great you are, so this was a compromise.

I don't know about another platform like tumblr, but maybe consider setting up a discord? Or you can jump to twitter?
Ehh, the issue with both of those is that they’re not really geared towards writing the way I’d like. The thing I like about tumblr is the anon system for requests (and I might have discovered a workaround for this recently) and the character limit for posts allowing me to write out things directly here instead of linking followers to it. I considered an ao3 + twitter combo but that would kind of knock me out of being able to do shorter requests, which help tide me over when I’m not able to work on longer stuff. I made a dreamwidth but man Im so goddamn old and bitter I don’t want to spend time getting used to a new interface. But tbh, I think part of my not writing has to do with tumblr being the way it is now. The lack of interaction is one thing, but it’s more like, without the community tumblr isn’t the tumblr I loved. And I don’t know any other sites that are so specifically fandom related: you can get into your circles on IG, Twitter and the like, but basically everyone on tumblr is a fuckin weirdo and shameless about it and that’s nice and I miss it. But ah well, this site is also soul-sucking and it might be time to move on too. All I’m looking for is the next decent boat to jump ship, and I do mean decent, because we’ve seen how some of those boats (*cough* Writscrib *cough*) will go. For the meantime though, y’all will see me around here.

ENTM Tumblr Cycle 11
Round 3 Results
Hi everyone!  Last week I challenged our models to go out into a dungeon and find a Boss Monster, inspired by one of my favorite card games.  While all of the models fought their monsters valiently (or ran away screaming as is the case with our winner), the best shot this week belonged to
Ni’ko Shae
The votes were actually quite close this week but the community tipped it in Ni’ko’s favor.  The judges loved the unusual choice of the filter as well as the unconventional pose, since for once “visibly engaged with the monster” was not a battle requirement.
Our guest judge this week was Misia, the new host of ENTM Instagram Cycle 2.  If you are interested in auditioning for IG cycle, please hit up our Discord channel and join in the fun!  IG Cycle 2 auditions will end on March 24th.
For all the models, we have judges feedback below the fold.
Judge Terrini
Adam: I quite like the framing and elements of this shot. The effects aren't obscuring anything important and the boss' pose definitely looks like it's responding to your blow, so it works well. Your glamor however doesn't pop all that much and while all the elements work well together, I'm not getting a lot of excitement from the shot. A closer zoom would have given more drama here I think.
Bria: WATCH OUT! Haha I love how it looks like you avoided the dragon's breath weapon by jumping on it's nose and the filter giving the pink tinge is actually really cool! You've framed the boss really well and being in full dragoon armor says explicitly that this is your job and it's all in a days work. I have no complaints but only a few nitpicks. While I love the more classic dragoon coloring and you do stand out in some ways, it might be nice to use spotlights to give you a bit more outline.
Haila: The effects of this shot are fantastic! They make this fight look very epic and I love your style and flare for this satisfying image. I do think that the portrait view gives a nice frame of the effects but it does feel a bit cramped horizontally and too tall with empty space at the top of the picture. I know how these things can be hard to capture just right though and how hard it is to get the enemy posed just right with the right animation fram and the right angle. Still great work!
Kota: I love this shot... you have this perfect framing with blocking that darn jester from stepping on you and him being just ever so slightly out of focus but still up close and personal is a really nice effect. The only thing that might be nicer is if your outfit popped a bit mor, particularly the bust area seems a bit lacking in shades of brown and it would be nice to see the light coloring and white continuing there to contrast with your opponent.
Luma: I am a bit underwhelmed by this shot. It's a lovely framing of the boss, but your hair is blending into the background and your framing is weak. You are not in a strong action pose so I'm not getting much of a sense of interaction between the two of you besides that you're a bit wary of this great big ape... and for a scenic shot, being perfectly centered is not getting the most out of the background (I would recommend shifting the camera to the left to monopolize a bit more of that nice sunset peaking behind that cabin and cut out the boss gate barrier).
Ni'ko: Oh wow, I'm quite impressed by this composition and I can draw a lot of emotion from your posing and effects, it's like you're fighting off the demons in your head. I actually really love this shot a lot. My main nitpick is the filter makes the actual boss monster particularly undefined and it's a big risk in a round meant to highlight him, but I think you managed to pull it off with artistic integrity in having it tell a story.
Peaceful: Your skill is really nicely framed and I love the effect of the bright light arcs from the arrows streaking towards the boss. Your pose is dynamic and expressive which is really satisfying as well. The weakest part of the shot, in my opinion is that you've managed to mostly obscure the boss monster in effects, so in a round called "Boss Monster" this is risky as we are expecting to see both of you as features to the shot. It's not an automatic bad thing, sometimes the risk pays off, but since this is a smaller boss at a distance from you and obscured by effects, the result leaves me wanting.
Yojimbo: I'm not completely sure what you are trying to accomplish with this shot. The limb darkening and ability both blur and obscure most of the interesting features of the background so it's not much of a scenic, and what we can see clearly is rather uninspiring and empty. The action of the shot is also pretty tame and even as a glamour shot you're also rather out of focus. Being up close does make you really stand out overall and I actually quite love your glamour, the red in the clothes matching the stripe on your face is an awesome combo and I think the pose is great.
Yomu: This is a very strong shot, like an exchange of blows and waiting to see who came out on top. I like the theme of being a dark knight versus the angelic statue, and the high contrasts of the angel's darkened bone white, reds of abilities, blacks on you and with the blues and greens in the the background is an interesting effect. I know quite well the trouble of framing, but I would have like to perhaps have been a bit more up close on you, looking up from a little below and getting more of a sense of the angel looming above you.
Judge Wulf (Kusuh)
ADAM I have some serious stressful memories from this dungeon, so it’s pretty satisfying to see Siren being taken down a few pegs, honestly. My favorite part of this is the red line created by the DRK skill, it creates a nice line to follow, crossing through Siren and passing the tip of your sword. The way you’ve captured siren leaning back also adds an amazing sense of action to the shot as well! My note for you this week has to do with zoom and framing. It’s small, but I think this shot would do well to be just a bit more zoomed in. There is quite a bit of empty space behind you and behind Siren, and I feel like that is what makes everything seem smaller, and therefore less impactful. I feel like just raising up the camera a tad and zooming in juuuust a little bit would alleviate this problem! With all that said though, I am very much loving this shot, keep it up!
HAILA This is 100% my favorite Machinist skill! I’ve always wanted to get a a good shot with it, and I’m glad you were able to make the opportunity! Going vertical for this shot was really a stand-out unique choice for this shot, and it’s not an unwelcome one. The way the lights are flashing out from the monster really creates a sense of impact  and the roaring makes it seem like the hit hurt! A note for this picture, and it’s a small one: The way you’re angled plus the direction you’re looking really hides your face and from what I can tell, you’re eyes are open and staring downward. I feel like the image could be made a but stronger with you looking directly at the boss’s face/neck area. Keep in mind, though, that’s just a small suggestion, this is a wonderful shot overall!
YOMU Please allow me to get a little bit silliness out the way really quick, The frown on the boss is an absolute MOOD and I would use it for reaction images forever. With that out of the way, I’m gonna come right out and say that this is easily one of my favorite shots this week! One of my favorite things is to follow the lines that effects create in battle shots, and you’ve made excellent use of the DRK effects to make my eye follow across you and right through the boss. The way that line cuts through the center of the picture is an excellent use of framing as well! It gives a very nice “split screen” effect that  divides you and the boss, therefore creating conflict. If I had to give a note for this week (and I always try to!), I’d say that if you moved the camera up just a smidgen, then the boss’s head wouldn’t be caught off just at the tip. That’s it though! Amazing job on this shot.
KOTA The first thing that sticks out to me about this shot is how I can feel the impact of the foot crashing down onto the shield, and the very nice sense of action this creates. There’s a lot of discussion in the ENTM community when it comes to the use of a dutch angle, but I think it works for this type of shot. Also, I enjoy how your outfit fits together with your weapon choice as well as with how it contrasts with the boss’s dark coloration! Here’s my note for you this week: I feel like some of the impact is lost with the boss being blurry due to the DoF effect. Try messing around with the DoF settings, or try a similar shot with it off all together, I think having the boss in full focus would have a greater impact. I can’t wait to see what you have next week, and every shot has shown excellent improvement!

Adam: While I am personally partial to Siren, I am a little disappointed that this image doesn’t let me see her face and that magnificent hair of hers. The image is not as strong as others you have submitted in this cycle to date. Your face is hidden in the shadows and obscured by your hair. The main light source is directed onto Siren’s chest and not the action below. You are not looking at the enemy, however it could be the follow through to the massive sword swipe. The colors in the image are also very similar and tend to blend across elements.
I do love the angle of the image. The Dutch angle you used here is a great way to draw the eye upward to the enemy. I love the background as well. It is a beautiful space and backdrop for this fight scene. The colors, although tending to cause elements to blend together, are fitting to this scene. I also love the elements from the bottoms of the pillars casting a hint of light upward.
Don’t forget about you light source next week Adam, and take notice to let the viewer see your face, and more of Garuda’s as well.
Luma: While you have definitely added a light source to this image, I think you over-implemented it. You can definitely see the ape’s face and your glamour, this strong of a direct light source now casts a shadow too hard on the rest of the image. Ape-man’s arm has now become the mountainside.
I think this is an interesting location for this image, the background of tropical huts adds a jungle flair, and the banana tree is perfect for a battle with a giant ape. The use of the pencil filter creates a unique texture to the buildings. The unfortunate thing with pencil, is that when it is applied to overly pixelized graphics it can create a more noticeable distortion to them. I also want to point out that the sky in this image is gorgeous. Those colors are beautiful!
I love how you are engaged in this battle with the ape, but I can’t see your face. Change the angle of the camera and essentially reverse the image so that your face shows and the viewer can see your expression. I can see the boss’ expression, but not yours, and no offense, I am sure your Cat-boi face is prettier than that hair ape. I am looking forward to seeing your image next week!
Peaceful: I love your expression! You find pure joy in destroying that monster and landing the final blow! It is without question that no one wants to find themselves on the other side of your bow! I love the juxtaposition of you to the monster, causing you to be the largest thing in the image, without overtaking all the elements. The battle effect is interesting in this filter.
I struggled to see which boss or enemy this is on first look, needing to really zoom in the see the Gobby feet and armor. I also wish you could have somehow angled him, or had placement of him that obscured the purple battle zone line. It is interesting that it remained so bright of a purple with the rest of the elements of the image all becoming a sepia type tone. Try to capture enemies with less of a battle effect so that they are more identifiable in future rounds.
Your glamour is a perfect fit for fighting an armor encased enemy. Steam punk outfit and bow work well in this arena too, I just wish I could see your entire foot at the bottom tip of the bow. The lighting along the walls fills the room and leaves little dead space for the eye to find. I look forward to seeing what future images you bring to the table!
Yojimbo: Red ninja mask, rhinoceros enemy, green oozy glow… Please tell me this was a TMNT cosplay! If not, it is definitely something you can just pretend you tried to do!
I love the red in your glamour! The mask and the red on your arms is enough to make you stand out without distracting from the entire image. With the green glow throughout the image, the red draws the eye to your character and makes you the focus of the image. The slight blur to the image slightly causes the image to lose some clarity, but I would assume that the intent was that this would be like looking through the smoky haze. It is initially difficult to discern the enemy upon first glance, however, because of that same blur. I do like the intent here, however, and applaud you for your creativity in using this effect.
I like how the background is non-descript allowing for the focus to be on the battle, and it may have done some benefit to the image if you were slightly closer to the rhino. Another suggestion may have been to throw a small light source to the right of the rhino, putting some definition on it, without taking away from the overall feel of the image. I look forward to next week’s submission!
 Kota: This shot feels very neon. Very vivid, while still being void of being bright. The color palette reads heavy and aggressive, but is still attractive to the eye. I love the edges and how they seem to glow throughout the image.
I would have liked to see a different hairstyle on you so that your face was not obscured by it. The angle of your body position in the image seems a bit out of proportion as well. From this angle your foot looks to be the same size as the boss. Obviously this is not the case, however, it is something you should keep in mind when having such extreme angles.
I absolutely love how the boss is slightly blurred, and you are the main focus of the image. You utilized the rule of three here perfectly, and balanced the image out well to include minimal dead space in the background. Your glamour definitely suits your tank in this image as well! Don’t forget to add a small light source to your face in your images as well. Even with the hair across your face, a small light may  have helped to highlight and provide definition to your expression. I really enjoyed this image from you!
Judge Nadede
Bria:  I do have to say that this week’s image from you is your strongest one so far. With that said, it was not easy trying to spot you in this shot because you blend in with the surrounding colors. It might have helped you if you had zoomed in on yourself a bit more so than having the dragon in its entirety being seen. YOU should be the main focal point, not the dragon. Other things that might have helped would be getting lights on you a bit more and maybe wearing something that had colors that are complementary to what is around you. In your case, something along the lines of yellows and oranges (complimentary colors are opposite of each other on the color wheel). I also feel that you should be facing the dragon instead of away, especially with the spear end of your lance is pointing downward as if meaning to attack. I will say that this boss does present a challenge when working with lighting and finding ways to stand out. I say that as I used him during a theme we had last cycle. Keep on improving and can’t wait to see what you come up with for the next round.
Haila:  Not too bad of a shot this week. It is somewhat growing on me after seeing it zoomed out to see the whole image at once instead of scrolling up and down (that is on the site hosting the images, not you). With that, it still feels like there is still a bit of space above and below you and the Zu. I wonder if either having the shot horizontal or even zoomed in more would have given your shot even more tension than what is already there. You also blend in a little bit with the background of your image. Some back lighting and lighting on your face would have helped that as well as maybe wearing something that has colors complimentary to the background (like the orange seen through the ceiling windows). Keep up the good work and can’t wait to see what you bring to the next round
Ni’ko:  First off, thank you for the laugh. It was really needed *hugs* It is one of those “What do I do, what do I do??!” moments when seeing all those mobs coming right after you. The diagonals radiating from the main boss helps move the viewers eyes from the center of the shot outwards and back again. All the angles that are being used within your image (including the direction the eyes and faces of everyone is facing) gives the scene a much sense of action being taken place. The only thing that I’m finding distracting is the color filter you used within the image. I appreciate the old comic book feel your image has (dunno if that is what you were going for) but I wonder how the image would have turned out using a different filter. Overall good job this week, and again, thank you for the laugh.
Yojimbo: Yojimbo, sadly this is my least favorite of the images you have taken so far. Your mount one from last week is my favorite so far. One thing that I have noticed amongst all of your images thus far is needing to work on your lighting. You have some interesting ideas in your shots that would be further enhanced. Play around with the light settings from up close to far away along with playing with the light intensities and color sliders. I would even urge you to ask for advice from Katarh or other former models/judges with your images as a second set of eyes never hurts. I know you can do an awesome job and waiting to see what you will bring to the table next week.
Judge Misia
Peaceful Ursa: I just love the sepia tone you picked for this shot, especially with all the lights you have that frame the picture. It’s easy to pick you out and know what is going on. Your Roe is the star and you are kicking major booty from afar! Only thing I would say is careful with the coloring. My eyes were drawn to the purple behind the enemy. Make sure if you have a color tone to keep it throughout the picture. Also the boss is very hard to make out so either you dismembered him or he just never existed. Otherwise, beautiful job!
Luma Lee:  Your picture is a beautiful shot, and the colors pop out very well. I feel there were a lot of miss opportunities here though. My only thing with this picture though is there doesn’t seem to have very much going on within the picture. The gorilla seems to be the star and you are the co-star to the role without much of a face. This also might be a personal preference, but the purple dungeon blockage also takes away from the beautiful colors you have in the picture.
Yomu Kazul: I am so in love with this shot, it brings me back to the trailers for Shadowbringers! What I love about this shot is that I feel I am watching a battle scene, going toe to toe with an enemy twice your size (And you are already a huge character!) The effects don’t drown you out and the colors pop in so many ways, I want more and more from it .If I have to nitpick something, maybe nudge the camera up a bit to get rid of dead space and see more of the boss but that is me trying to find something. Keep it up! You did an amazing job!
Bria Rirsa: An epic battle against a dragon! How can you pull that off? You surely did! What I love is that you created a scene that shows us exactly what is going on. It even looks like you landed on his head, ready to give the next strike! Watch out dragon! One thing I would work on would be to be careful with colors. You almost blend in with all the purple and light blues. If you are a small part of a picture, make sure you are standing out more so you don’t get lost in all the action. Great job though!
Adam Evershot: A battle with the harpy herself and it looks like you got the upper hand here! I do like how you were going with this shot, especially when it looks like your knocking the snot of of her with your sword. I was a bit disappointed though that I couldn’t see you face very well and your glamour choice didn’t seem to fit the theme very well with what you were going with. You almost blend into the background and the villian seems to really steal more the spotlight. Try something more of a glam that contrasts from the brown so that you shine brighter as the star! Good job though!
Haila Wetyios: Interesting approach on this theme, I love how you are in the battle with the boss and obviously giving it more then it can handle. I feel there was many miss opportunities here. Though you picked portrait for your picture, I feel it cut off a lot of the action and created more dead space in your picture. I love the action and effects but they drown out the boss and your character in general. If you are creating a fight scene, bring more of that action by maybe zooming out from the fight, or showing more of the boss in the picture. In the end, you are the star, so don’t blind yourself out from the fight. Good job otherwise though!
Ni’ko Shae: Great job this week! This picture reminds me of my first time in dungeons when I had no idea what to expect! The face expressions were priceless and the monsters were so easy to make out. I will say that the filter threw me off though with how blended the colors were but they make sense in a almost comical scene you have here. Only thing Ill point out is the line you have going straight through your character. I believe that is one of the filters but it didn’t fit well with the theme you did. Beautiful job though!
Kota Tumet: Man! I would have you protect me any day for you are just a shining warrior in battle with a foe that might just kill us all. I love how you created something that shows what is exactly going on. The boss has thrown a mighty blow and you have blocked it with ease. Your face shows how in the moment you are and I feel I’m right there with you. One thing I will point out that I feel would have made this picture so much better is that you blurred half the boss. If you are in battle, make sure to fully commit to what you are fighting, you are the star, but make sure your co star isn't almost blended into the background. Otherwise, you did wonderful!
Yojimbo Kasai: This boss better watch out cause there is a ninja in town! I will be honest though, this picture was very hard to look at. The edges blurred out so much that not only were you captured in that blur but the boss as well. The dark edges were also not needed because it adds so much darkness to a already dark picture. I would next time take advantage of the environment and let the fog create the ambiance for you, no need to add to an already beautiful backdrop to an epic picture. You want to stand out and not blend in with your effects for they have stolen the show. You have so much potential, keep it up!!

injygo replied to your post “Half the mind to say, okay, with tumblr more or less dying, what I...”
how can i find you off tumblr again?
Oh yeah I should announce this here, not everyone follows the main lol.
Twitter: solipsistful
Pillowfort: exotraumagenic (;)) or solipsistful (which isn’t set up yet, wait until the semester is actually over)
Discord: Solipsistful#0164
And then I’ve got a basically unused dreamwidth at traumata-irrealis, but hey if we notice a bunch of people we like going to DW then I might start doing that again. I’m liking pillowfort’s combo of slightly more privacy/control over content + ability to reblog, though, hah.

WIP Update - 21 Sep 2022
A somewhat productive week  - I touched 5 fics (2 WIPs & 3 new works) for a total of  1922 words.
I posted a Clint & Tony one shot (previously shared on Tumblr) for a TSB square, contributed to a Round Robin during the BBB Discord party and posted a fill for last week’s  @flashfictionfridayofficial that also  filled SRB and MWAPB squares.
I’m up to 14 active WIPs  (with a couple of maybe TBCs)  with my current   deadlines being  the Stuckony Summer Stockings and @suck-tember.
Prompt submission is closed, but if you have a hankering to write something Stucky|Stony|WinterIron|Stuckony-oriented as a gift, check out the list of prompts!  (and yes, I have a couple of prompts in there…)
I wrote a quickie Stuckony smutfic (Sexy Shield-nanigans) that is coming in at 583 words - I may tweak it a bit before I post.
I also wrote a  domestic fluff WinterIron kidfic with potential Stuckony (Color Our World)  that has been posted to the event - it came in at 1374 words.
Seven fills posted and 0 WIPs - I decided to further challenge myself on this 16-square card by pairing up each square with a unique combo of 2 original MCU Avengers, with the final square being PolyVengers. With the help of the STB Enthusiasts Discord folks - I’ve got all 16 squares  planned out, at least in terms of who to write about, and half of them have some sort of idea or crossover square to go along with them. Feel free to toss other plot  bunnies my way…
* A3 - Reunited  -  posted  Making a Different Call  - an Endgame-compliant Natasha POV retelling of reuniting with Clint.  It  came in at  364 words.
* B3 - Road Trip  -  Bruce & Thor  - Post Grandmaster, pre-Thanos  space shenanigans
* C3 - Reincarnation AU  -  Natasha & Tony  - post-Endgame.
* D1 - Friends w/ Benefits  - Clint/Steve - crossover with MWAPB Hawkeye/Clint Barton and possibly SRB - Never Have I Ever
* D2 - Romeo & Juliet AU  -  basic idea:  Steve (jock) & Tony  (geek) trying out for title roles in R&J - despite their respective  FWB groups thinking it’s a terrible idea.  Title:  Two Polycules, Alike in Dignity
*  D3 - Bed Sharing  -  Bruce/Natasha - AoU compliant.
Man With a Plan (Steve Rogers) Bingo [MWAPB] (Runs thru 31 Dec)
Ten fills, 0 WIPs and several Vague Ideas/potential cross fills with other bingos.  Prompts cheerfully accepted!
* B3 - Farmer’s Market  - now looking at a crossover with TSB Doing Groceries. Moodboard + ficlet?
* B4 - Powerless AU  - if Sunqueen and I decide to continue   Wrong Number, Right Call ,  this would be a good fit.
* O3 - Hawkeye/Clint Barton  -  see AvB - Friends w/ Benefits  above.
StarkBucks Bingo - Round 3  (SBB_R3) - Ends 31 Dec
5 fills, 1 WIPs and several Vague Ideas - soliciting plot bunnies or other kick-starters.

* I3 - Unimaginable Grief  – I‘m thinking an post-Endgame Rhodey POV would work nicely here…
* N5 - Forgetting who you are because of who you’re expected to be - This fit quite nicely with Chapter 5 (Tony POV) of Flawed Hypothesis, which posted last Friday.  Chapter 6 (Steve POV) is  in progress at  around 984 words.   Current Last Line:  “Steve, Bucky – I can’t be your omega.
* O3 - Dating a civilian -  this would fit perfectly with another chapter of Takin’ What They’re Givin’ (‘Cause I’m Workin’ for a Livin’) , for which I currently have a basic plot point or two rolling around in my head.

Ten fills,  four WIPs  & ideas for everything except one square  - Working on a Column B bingo to start.
* B2 - Funeral - see SBB N2 - Blanket  above

* U2 - AU: Roommate  - Still wanting to use the Meet Ugly prompt: 02. I bought a house three months ago but I’m finally moving in and discover you’ve been squatting because you’re homeless    – probably WinterHawk with  recovering!Bucky being the squatter in Clints apartment building.
* U4 - AU: Arranged Marriage - will probably pick Lady Natasha’s Consort and Lord Steve’s Companion  back up for this one.

* Y4 - KINK: Seduction Mission - crossover with SBB - B1 - “I wouldn’t mind wasting my time on you.”
