deep cleaning the house rn and i’m just thinking about how badly i want sevens pov from ch 2 to see how they feel about an mc that’s expecting the worst out of them on the bus with the phone call to their parents. the idea that the mc is fully expecting seven to kick them while they’re down. like what’s it like to be on the other side of that homie?

@helluvatired made a similar post but. . .
People like to use this line to imply that Blitz really needs the book specifically, I’ve even seen some people use it to bolster claims that Stolas is abusing Blitz.
Except, that’s not what this line meant at all? Even a little bit?
Seconds before this happened Stolas gave Blitz an Asmodian Crystal, which would allow him to do everything he was doing with the book, except legally.
Blitz definitely knows how it works too, since
Barbie was using one earlier in the season,
He uses it perfectly well in the next episode
Stolas literally just explained what it does
The “I need this book” line thus makes no sense. Blitz does not need the book, he just got an alternative that’s better in every way.
Now then, when a character says a line like this that makes no goddamn sense on the surface, there’s about a 15% chance it’s bad writing, and a 85% chance the writer is inviting you to look deeper.
In this case Blitz says he needs the book not because he actually needs it, but because he wants to preserve the relationship they currently have. He clearly has feelings for Stolas, but his own self-worth issues don’t let him live with those feelings, they don’t let him internalize that a demon prince could feel the same way about him as he does for them. The book arrangement allows Blitz to be around Stolas, to fuck him, and love him, without challenging that paradigm.
This is what Stolitz’s “breakup” in Full Moon and Apology Tour is all about: clearly they both have feelings for each other, but Stolas wanted to make their relationship less transactional, to lessen the power dynamic, and Blitz simply was not emotionally or mentally ready for that step.
This wasn’t really my thesis but To conclude, Stolitz is obviously not the healthiest relationship in the world, but using the “I need the book” line as evidence of abuse is a level of poor media literacy and taking things out of context that I’ve only seen out of power scalers.

Ahhhhhh @starry-night-rose this is so long over do I am so sorry for the delay!!!
BUT here’s a little art piece between Ellis and Jewel!!
100% besties without a doubt
Although they have different personalities (cough cough -Jewel’s fighting habits- cough) I think they’d get along so well considering their same shared interests and bc of Ellis’s friendliness
ALSO- they both like to dance and sing? Have a love interest that is considered low key weird and scary to the people who aren’t close to them
Jewel would also try to drag her into her one member club

Iirc the way the soup drama panned out in the book is that the maid found out about the soup and staged a thing where she would get "caught" leaving the soup but deny making it special for Zixuan in a way that made it seem like she was just too shy and humble to take credit, and in recognition of her taking time out of her day to do something nice for him he made her a guest cultivator and I think gave her some tips? And that situation lasted like a couple months before Yanli mistimed leaving the soup and the whole thing blew up.
WAIT WHAT
He makes someone a guest cultivator over SOUP?
I think we all need to stop poking fun at da-ge for promoting Meng Yao for being delicate and poor!!! bullied, because at least Meng Yao was excelling at his cultivation-related wartime duties. SOUP, THOUGH??? Like, I’m glad Zixuan’s down to promote people regardless of background, but if he’s only doing it because she did a personal favor for him fully unrelated to cultivation or the war or anything relevant, that’s… not great, either.
(Also not a fan of “conniving peasant steals merit from sweet innocent rich girl” as a plot point in general. Pretty bad look with all the other class stuff going on in the novel. 😬)
