do you know when we’ll be getting foolproof’s update, kit? Just wanted to ask bc I have a super stressful day today and I’ve been excited about reading the new chapter as a reward for getting through the stressful stuff for days 🥰🥰🥰

ahhh this is fair this is fair

ive actually reached the point in the chapter where it could very much be split into 2 halves seeing as i'm at 6.5k with about roughly 4 very crucial scenes to go, which would double that word count and then some....

but those are words that aren't there yet (for a time and tide update, i once just split a 12k chapter into 2 parts and posted them at the same time), so i could post what i have --- the current completed scene would be a stopping point that makes sense and it'd be roughly 6k --- or i could wait to post until i have what would be the full chapter and then split it into 2 parts and post them at the same time (that might be up to another week?) --- or i could post 1 very long chapter that does what i want it to do but could be overwhelming to read

literally went on a thirty minute walk today to try and think this through because trust me i do want to give y'all what's coming asap but i also have a vision, which at this point contradicts my stance against 14k chapters (they're gifts from god but also i get lost in them!)

I found out last night that Maneskin are on tour in Italy while I'm in Italy and their tour literally lines up with my travels?! So now I'll see them in Rome AND in Milano ❤❤❤ (if those black market tickets are legit 😅)

#could have done Naples too #but I'll only be there for a day trip #and it looked like it would be difficult to get back to Rome by train late at night #2 unexpected concerts are already amazing #and it fits so well because they are the reason I started learning italian #so without them I wouldn't be travelling to Italy in the first place haha #anyway this is my reward for my language learning effords and I can't wait!!!#maneskin

Ughh I hate that my city has a fanbase. I hate that the most important virtue here is being alert and cunning. I hate how this city is "the most hospitable and warm 😊", but only to people who fit right in.

I hate that I got snickered at the whole time at the market I was shopping at. And then they tried to make me pay more than what I owed. And I got catcalled but in a making fun of sort of way. All because I wore a too colorful shirt and don't have a nice haircut. They mistook me for a tourist, or just thought I was stupid. This happens to me very frequently, but when I voice my experiences I get scoffed at - except for the few weirdos I know who get exactly the same treatment.

And like, look. I could stick to the richest parts of my city that are streets of just cafes and restaurants and souvenir shops and bnbs and tourists. But what if I want to actually Live IN my city? I've been trying to understand how tf to fit in for 24 years here, I've been swindled and robbed and got laughed at while wearing anything from colorful patterned shirts on out of style pants to white t-shirts tucked in perfectly usual skinny jeans. I don't understand what is it that I give off that tells people "she's weird, she's foolish, she doesn't understand" but I hate that they take advantage of it. I want a city that is kinder.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm still bouncing around multiple things very slowly (like a couple of the journey sketches which turned into mini comics)

but currently I'm in the grips of reading a 300 page academic book on doctors and medicine of the renaissance because of the L4D/AC crossover I wanna write and I'm got a little too into making the doctor character.

#massaging was apparently banned by the church #bunch of doctors started questioning previous shit #one guy started drawing illustrations for his books on medicinal knowledge which was unheard at the time somehow #Another started lumping symptoms together in order to find the root cause of illnesses and try to cure rather than just treat #brutal one was another different dude calling into question the effectiveness of a method of using a type of stone to cure ALL poisonings #so he convinced someone who was on death row to test this and if the guy lived he would be set free #anyway that guy died a several hours long painful death.. 🙃#history is fucking nuts man #and all this research for fanfic #next is going to be history of a nature park area near the port of Naples #hello void i have words

#mare fuori #lil bit of fun info for those who dont know since im stuck in my room #this tv show got viral this winter in italy during its third season #to the point that one of the most played songs of the summer is another one from the soundtrack #and that when i went during a national holiday in a restaurant in the outskirts of turin -extreme north-#there was a karaoke party and the fourty something young people from the periphery who were there started screaming this song all together #and the show isnt bad even if at times its way too cheesy and other times you ask yourself why watch it at all #lol #because the most interesting thing is- in a country that is extremely racist towards its south #and that has a very fascist law and order tendency rn #the show that went viral is about MINORS IN A PRISON IN NAPLES -most of them from mafia families and most of the show is in Neapolitan slan #and apart from the depiction of the guards as a sort of family for the inmates the perspective on the youths isnt actually bad- incredibly #i just really like cheesy tv shows and am fascinated by the cultural impact that a tv show #that empathizes with people struggling with poverty and criminality and structural issues could have once it has reached this level of fame #nation-wide speaking #bops #SoundCloud #its on netflix btw i think
