I was hitting some art block so I felt like drawing some fanart of @abd-illustrates’ Heartless characters!

I realized I never actually watched the final installment of the Concept Corner series, so that’s what I had playing when sketching these. It’s just so fun listening to the brainstorming and cool character connections

I really appreciate that The Apothecary Diaries fandom can appreciate the intentions behind the series. It's refreshing to see so many readily accept the nuance presented in the writing and openly discuss the complexity of it all, all the while understanding that this is a piece of fiction to be enjoyed.

I'm sure as the series continues, knowing what will happen, there will be more discourse and such, but it's clear that there's also many who want to engage in a healthy, open-minded manner.

one of my coworkers was curious about photocards bc i made a joke about how they're basically the same as sports trading cards, so i brought in one of my svt albums to show him (and some of my other coworkers, who are all cishet men in their 20s and 30s)

the coworker in question is a 35 year old allegedly cishet guy, he was very intrigued by all the different inclusions bc he'd never seen anything like it before

another coworker was asking how much albums cost and thought it was a fair price considering all the stuff you get

in this album i got 2 mingyu PCs and one wonwoo PC and my coworkers were surprised that you could get multiple of the same member and that there were multiple different photos per member

my coworker asked how you're supposed to collect them all if there's so many and i was like... you don't lol (and then explained that with a large group like svt a lot of ppl focus on collecting just one or two members)

i had a signature from DK and my coworker seemed to like the name and decided he was his favorite lol

i taught my coworkers the term "bias" and asked my sports-obsessed coworker who his football bias was and they were so amused by it they started using the term for all sorts of things and got really excited about it (scuba diver bias, plant(? bias, etc.)

my gen z coworker asked which was my favorite member so i showed him jun in the photobook and he said "he doesn't look very korean" me: "he's chinese :)" my coworker: "oh. he doesn't look very chinese" apparently he thought jun looked mixed TT

they were asking how many albums they've released and i was like... i've lost count but at least 2 per year for the last 10 years... they were a bit surprised and impressed lol

i was explaining individual fandom names to them at one point and my sports-obsessed coworker said "imagine being a joshuahead or a dino dog"... joshushushu's and dinonaras are out everyone, joshuaheads and dino dogs are in

I LOVE NIREI AKIHIKO SO MUCH

I've always had a soft spot for characters who act as walking encyclopedias/informants/information wielders. Nirei gives a refreshing twist to that because he really just loves knowing everything and anything without any ulterior motive. He's just naturally curious, and I think that's what makes him unique and strong in his own accord in a place like Furin, who is mostly filled with brawlers. What he might lack in physical skills (at the moment), he makes up for his intelligence. His moral and empathy are big pluses too! I feel like he's the type of character who "wants to know because knowing is his way of caring". He wanted to know more about Sakura because he cares for Sakura, he talks to Sugishita and learns more about him because he cares what Sugishita is struggling to feel, and his curious mind is his biggest proof that he cares a lot for everything and anything. I honestly can write an entire essay about him and how I'm truly amazed by Nirei but TLDR: i love him so much, he's such a bright and warm character so I do my best to capture that

The treasure bugs being revealed to be parasitoids of the mimics (laying the eggs in them, the young feeds on them, their lifecycle continues) is so much fun, I love the variety and research and passion that's been put into the ecology of Dungeon Meshi (especially while having a background in zoology and fresh out my invertebrate biology course)(parasites my morbid beloved). What a treat of a show.

the duality of the red white and royal blue facebook group is so funny. on one hand it's a bunch of classic fangirls obsessed with gay relationships and on the other it's a bunch of actual middle aged gay men who just loved the movie because they're seeing themselves in a romcom for the first time. and they're just interacting and nerding out together over it. also because it was the number one movie on amazon in the world, the language barriers being broken to talk about it are not insignificant.
