Oh my gosh, it’s been so long since i’ve sent you a letter! I’m so sorry! The hotel has been sooooooooo busy! But don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about you, how could I? You’re all I think about!

I’m excited to tell you i’ve been decorating your room at the hotel! Of course, when you come here you can redecorate if you wish to! Whatever makes you the happiest sweetie! Or, you could even share my room!

I can’t wait to come get you, I really do think you’ll like it here. We’ve all worked so hard to make this place as welcoming as possible, and you’ll warm up to the other residents and staff after a little bit of time! And, as for a question: did you know some of the Bakugans' genders were changed around in some translations? Tigrerra is probably better known (being male in the original) but in some translations (Dutch, Hungarian and maybe some others), Skyress was changed to be male. Any thoughts?

As for your question, I do know that some of the bakugan's genders were different in different versions of the show. I'm aware of tigrerra and ingram in s2, but it's interesting to hear that skyress was male in hungary.

I've only recently noticed this trope but I think runo and tigrerra were supposed to be that "bratty girl and her polite, older male butler" that sometimes pop up in anime. Maybe it's not a real trope because the only other example i have is fischl and oz from genshin impact lol, but i quite like that the eng vers gave tigrerra a more feminine voice!

I think the whole "m'lady" thing is cringe and lame because i think it insinuates a power dynamic i don't really like, esp since the whole thing about nv is how fucked it is to treat bakugan like lesser beings. i'd much rather have a partnership between brawlers and bakugan.

as for skyress, it's pretty obvious that she was a stand-in for shun's mom; given to him by shiori, has a very mature voice, and advises shun on life choices etc etc.

I think it's still possible to make skyress male while also maintaining that vibe of a parental figure, altho to make him a good comparison to shiori would mean that they would have to make him...i guess soft-spoken and super chill? That being said i think the show already has a lack of diversity in bakugan "genders" anyway sooooooooo i think i will keep skyress and tigrerra women.

and ingram too, i think they gave up tryna keep her eng va after her evo and goddamn her evo's va was so jocky it pissed me of LMAO i literally can't watch any scene with master ingram man.

when you open Dragon Age: Inquisition to play, you’re given a character creation menu. Your gender, race (DnD inspired so species TECHNICALLY) and your weapon class. I wanted to follow this formula for the AU but alas I am not going to because it gives me much more creative freedom to actually make it up

Also if anyone knows this game and I got something wrong, I'm already sorry LMAO I'm not great at remembering details correctly

Roman and Remus are human nobles from Antiva. Their family owns a winery and contributes to the massive export in the international trading. They use a sword+shield and a mace+shield respectively, often training together. They were brought up to carry on delegating the trade for their family business but not everything goes exactly as their parents planned — both kids are gay. No big deal, right? I’m not too sure on Antivan’s views of gay people so I don’t have much of a say. But I do know that — if they were in the AU the same time the DA:I game occurs — they’d leave their family in order to go be a part of the Inquisition. Roman is the favorite child because Remus is a bit of a pariah (we love him tho) and that has caused only minor bad blood between the two. I think that Remus and Roman would get along surprisingly well during this time, to be honest. I also think, if they were to travel and be a part of the game’s story, they’d be incredible allies to have. Of course, Roman is a bit picky about certain things (he’s a noble boy, idk what else to say) and Remus definitely has a fascination with magic and necromancy but. oh well. Roman is fond of the smart elvhen scholar and Remus has a big ol crush on V.

Virgil would be a Dalish elf (nomad elf, an elf that tries to preserve old culture and tradition, doesn’t live in cities, trades, has a clan) and I think he’d be a mage. I don’t think he’d have a particularly strong role in his clan (not like the Keeper (the leader) or their First (second in command)) but maybe he’d learn some healing magic alongside whatever comes to him naturally. I think he’d find Storm magic particularly appealing (I’m not kidding it’s called storm magic he could strike people with lighting it’s badass). I think he’d have vallaslin (facial tattoos dedicated to any elvhen god — later revealed to have a different meaning than what he’d believe but he doesn’t know that) of the god Falon’Din (god of the dead + those who guide others to the afterlife). I think he’d handle the pain of the tattoos well and be quite proud of himself when it’s done. If he were to travel and be a part of the game’s story, I think he’d be a good man to have on your side, as he’s always thinking of things to do and how to protect yourself.

Or he’s a spirit. There’s a character in game named Cole; he’s a spirit of Compassion. Who’s to say Virgil couldn’t be the same? He was once a human (or elf, either work, the main two I see fitting him mainly) and he passed away; a spirit found him and took his form. Became him, in a way. Became Virgil and stayed the spirit. Virgil but he’s a spirit now. There are types of spirits in the game but none that directly fit him — sooooooooo I’ll be lazy and not give him a type :3 he’d be a rogue instead of a mage this time, with daggers that he uses to pop up, fight, and then disappear with. Not everyone in the Inquisition would trust him but Virgil would be very shifty in defense of himself so he wouldn’t mind. Remus and Logan would be fascinated by him though.

I’m so unsure on Patton. I want to make him a qunari (tall, grey-toned skin, follows a strict religious code unless a deserter, then just operates on one’s own as basically a fugitive) but I also want to make him a dwarf. problem with this is I know very little on either culture in game and am not very good at putting it all together through the various wikis I have read. Just know that either he’s very tall or very short and he uses a sword because it’s very convenient and he usually doesn’t like to fight. I can see him trying to be diplomatic and it not working. We love him though. This is literally the one I can’t decide; I gotta make a character for each race and play through to figure it out then decide.

Human Janus who is from Orlais (fancy rich people with their noses so high in the air they can’t see where they’re walking) and is an expert at figuring people out. He’s always drawn attention because he has a massive burn mark over the side of his face that makes people give him weird looks — it was from a childhood accident that healers couldn’t totally fix. He’s in a very rich and noble scholarly family. Yes, he’s met the twins. Lets say he bonded with one and not the other (Remus and Roman). He’s essentially a spymaster for his own family. He runs the diplomatic relations and the family endeavors and if anyone tries to come across his family lineage (trust me, there are some, his family isn’t the most well liked and Orlais is all about screwing others over). He’d join the Inquisition in the main storyline and claim that he “needed a challenge” but it was definitely for a change of scenery. He’d work with the Inquisition’s spymaster and maybe help his own family out from afar. (weirdly fond of the puffball... Patton—)

Then finally Logan. I view Logan as a Dalish elf who was taken from his clan as soon as he showed signs of magic. it wasn’t by his choice. He was sent to a magic school (called a Circle) where he had templars (cops) breathing down his neck to approve what he was studying. He hated it. That’s an understatement. When the mage rebellion happened and mages wanted their freedom to study what they want, Logan joined. He became an apostate and, while unable to return to his clan because of the distance, joined the Inquisition. He was always very good at all sorts of magic and stories and mythos so he was considered a scholar despite his background. I don’t think he’d have vallaslin — too young for it when he was taken. But I think he’d be like this other character Solas (Solas when I catch you Solas you fucking egg /neg /lh) except… better. He’d be considered a city elf by then but he never forgot his family. Just made a new one. I think he and elvhen Virgil would bond over their backgrounds and mutual understanding of one another and that would be the blossom of their friendship. I think he would be intrigued absolutely FASCINATED by spirit Virgil and how it all works and I think he’d be sympathetic and defend the fact he’s a spirit and not a demon. But ngl he wants to kiss the wine guy.

Season 3 of Bridgerton has left me feeling conflicted. I've loved every season, but I'm not blind to the flaws. But this season has left me more conflicted than usual. Part 1 was strong and part 2 was just...mid at best. Even so, I'm torn because there were still things I really enjoyed, but the nitpicks I have are stronger than any of the nitpicks I've had regarding the previous seasons.

Issues:

Benedict. The actor is too good to give him so little. What the hell is up with that threesome scene going on forever?! They tried so hard to convince viewers that it was relevant to his character arc. Benedict is a little whorey and gives big Bi energy-- this scene gives nothing that we didn't already know. This is made even worse by the knowledge that he will be the focus of the next season so I expected some deeper character development-- not a brief mention of a masquerade at the end. There was no real discussion of his deeper feelings about himself and place other than two very brief off-handed sentences that were thrown in. They literally did more work for characters whose seasons are far off than they did for him whose season is next... Plus, this worthless and ridiculously long scene took SOOOOOOOOO much time away from Colin and Pen's interaction which was shockingly rare in part 2.

The Threesome was in fact so long and was interrupted with flashes of other scenes that are clearly over a space of time that I got confused-- was it the same threesome or a different night?

The whole amount of time they spent on Benedict's threesome was made even worse by my finding out that pretty much all the scenes they filmed and cut were Colin and Pen scenes...like wtf, whose season do they think this was meant to have been?

If they were going to put in the work of making Cressida more of a character and attempt to create sympathy for her and her reasoning for her actions they needed more of a payout than just a lackluster discussion with Colin and for her to just disappear. She literally wasn't even in the midst of the conflict she created... There was a small spark with Debling. If they had gone through the trouble of writing her as more sympathetic there needed to be more and having her end up with Debling would've made so much more sense and made the way they had written her needed more of a payoff. At the very least make her more present if you aren't going to go in that direction.

Colin and Pen have a very physically passionate romance in the books which was also made abundantly clear in the show and yet after the one time nothing... there would be angry passion.

Colin, even angry, would never wallow so long and he certainly wouldn't try to fix things with a wishy-washy conversation with Cressida (he'd be long past that). He was more firm with Pen's mom than the woman who was literally black mailing his wife. His first move would be to take her down...

While I loved that Pen had a scene where it was she who defended and explained herself to the ton after she was unmasked, Colin should've been the one to start that off, not the queen. In the book, that is essentially what he does, and it was his way of standing by her side against the angry ton (and with the other Bridgertons joining with him). They could've still done that and still given Pen her moment too-- it would've been way more impactful for the...you know the ROMANCE!!!! I guess I just assumed they would keep this bit of Colin's way of proving to Pen he'd stand by her, but nope, just that lack-luster scene of him conversing with Cressida and a private confession to Pen. I wanted the big gesture!

Ok, so I will be the first to admit that I don't get the hype with Francesca's book. it was god awful boring no matter how beautiful the love story might have been. However, despite how much I disliked her book they completely obliterated any chance of being able to manage the CORE of her story. I love the gender bend of Michael to Michaela, however, it was made so painfully obvious that Fran, despite her claims is not as interested in John as she seems to think (that kiss was a death blow), and then to have her react how she does to meeting Michaela for the first time...they buried the heart of her story before it even started. And I'm saying that as someone who hated her book (doesn't mean I don't understand the appeal or impact of her romance). Her deep love for John is key for her story to have any meaning-- the woman is literally devastated and she literally mourns for years after he dies.

What I did like, I really liked, but I'm disappointed in my favorite couple not getting what they truly deserved.

A Lot of people seem to characterize Missy as like.... secretly nice all along?? like Yes she does have a lot of softer moments compared to. say. saxon master. but there are a couple of audios even where she's like nice to kids but pretending not to actually like them? and idk it just sits weird with me. like this is THE MASTER we're talking about. she canonically 'set an entire planet on fire to get enough light to put her eyeshadow on' but she ALSOOOO!!!!! had enough emotional intelligence to just. be decent to people she likes. idk. there is certainly an element of tragedy in her character in that she feels she doesnt know how to be good after so long spent being truly awful, that is the main point of her s10 arc, but that seems to have been misconstrued as 'she was secretly nice all along' which just. isnt true. s8 she literally turns of all earths dead people in cybermen and enjoyed it. it also does have vibes of it being a gender thing like 'oh now shes a women shes so much more caring' thats not really it!!!!!!!

I generally just go into the tag of the series I want to read fic for and sort by latest posted, descending! from there I go based on tags + description to see what interests me. I never look at stats, I just go based on what sounds good to me/what im in the mood for that particular day

sometimes if I want something more specific ill go into specific relationship tags, or specific trope tags like hurt/comfort

theres a vague idea in my head for a DS9 AU where Rom is a trans woman and its entirely because of Profit and Lace and how Rom didnt HESITATE to demonstrate how to act "womanly"

in my head this goes hand in hand with my Julian is trans headcanon and they bond over being trans and Julian helps Rom figure things out. it'd really be about exploring this idea of a Ferengi being trans- which I think is a really interesting concept with their society- but also a story about someone older, who is a father and has been twice married, getting to realize these things in a supportive environment and getting to explore gender and transness. Leeta is taking Rom dress shopping and getting her fitted at Garak's. Julian is giving her estrogen. i have so many thoughts about the way people talk and think about jimin these days but im so scared putting them on public posts will get me doxxed or some shit. people are very attached to the idea that jimin acts openly queer which is really like. well. yeah. i definitely think people reallyyyy need to remember it doesnt matter how much you believe someone famous is queer theyre just presenting in a way that makes them happy and you really do NOT need to decide whether that's queer or not lmao in fact i think it says way more about someone when they decide he's queer because he doesnt act like a "typical man". like yeah in his performances obviously he explores gender some times but like sometimes songwriters are also exploring themes and thoughts that are purely creative. sometimes its not about them (and sometimes it is!) but. yeah. you can PERCEIVE him as queer if it makes you happy but you gotta remember thats not fact thats just what YOU think. yknow. and i also think this translates kinda into the fic people consume and create.

(as much as it bothers me how uncritically people read it and get it popular) but sometimes in a/b/o especially....... its VERY clear when your biases come out. which is why its sooooooooo obvious when someone who has never met real life queer people writes it. for example grouping "women and omegas" like they fill the same role despite being different subgenders when u could specify like. omegas and female betas. if u wanted. implying that women are still women even if theyre alpha but omegas are not men anymore. you get me? the fact that u decided to include male/female gender essentialism in the fic genre specifically around Not doing that is so unbelievably on the nose. and yet i see it everywhere. (i also think this is a symptom of people never having read other fandoms tho. they dont even know about gock [girl cock]).

also fics where the major antagonists are a group of girls that harrass jimin r super mean bc god we cant have a MAN do that or he's a predator. you get me? and the alpha jk who is quiet and broody and doesnt even HAVE to fight bc he's soooooooo strong the other alphas are just scared of his vibes. like you know the type of fic im describing. in general whenever the major antagonist of the fic is a bunch of women who also want to fuck jk (which like. if we're supposed to believe jk is soooo hot... like. they should?) and the author calls them a "gaggle" of women and emphasises how they "giggle" and their high pitched unpleasant voices..... brother we have some serious internalised misogyny to unpack with that one.

hello, this has been sitting in my asks for a long time and I do apologise for taking so long to get back to it, reading 'this is where it ends' was an emotional experience for myself as well and I'd love to rant with you over it. You could always send in a dm or ask about it and I'd always be willing to reply (can't say at the earliest) And I absolutely love you for reaching out cuz this book brings so many memories! I read it like 2 years ago and this book was what I read for my November Depression feels but it made me more depressed for the holiday season, it's a wonderful read and I'm sure you already know this.

The book is intense and for someone who heard about school shootings and always associated it as an 'American' thing, it helped me to connect with the bigger picture outside of sympathy for innocent lives lost, the books had had an impact on me even after so many months. Honestly, it was the one push I required to pursue teen psycology and gender studies as a subject.

Tomas and Fareed felt more personal and it's strange that Slyvia and Tomas reminded me of my own relationships with siblings. The book honestly haunts on so many levels to a reader, I can talk about it for ages. And well I sobbed over Tomas's death and the last scene where they come together to mourn their losses just didn't give the justice to the lives lost. Like I was mourning for a character's lost but truth be told a lot of people (and there are numbers to support it) every year lose someone to school shootings and when the writer doesn't empower the character to make a difference but just makes them and the reader feel helpless, it leaves a bigger mark and Nijkamp succesfully did that.

Enough for a rant, I assume- I know this doesn't really go on to the detailed talk about book you had been looking for but it's been a while and the book looking back is just one masterpiece culminated into saddest stories I have read in a while.
