A (Staged) Confession

A/N: okay so, after I saw one of @little-ideas‘s headcanons about how Tasuku, Sakyo and Tsumugi would only confess to their crush if it was for a play, this idea just wouldn’t leave my head. Granted, it’s more cheesy than funny in comparision to the original post but I still wanted to give credit because the idea made me laugh a lot. Hope you enjoy it~

Character: Tasuku Takato x Reader

Pronouns: gender neutral. They/them during the first half and then switches to second person.

“No, I won’t let it end. Not like this.” Mizu shook his head, a deep frown set on his face.

“It is not your choice to make.” Tsuki’s eyes were downcast, but their voice carried their conviction. “I have a duty to-”

“Duty? Honor? Who cares about any of that?,” he interrupted them swiftly, the composed look of detachment that graced their features was the last straw for him and his patience. “Your life is more important!”

They didn’t flinch in response to his booming voice, but their eyes refused to meet his as they answered. “My life is of no importance in the great scheme of things. If giving it away can help-”

“But it is unfair! Why should you have to sacrifice yourself for the people who shunned you in the first place?!”

“Because it is the right thing to do.” Their response was calm, collected, their voice didn’t waver in the slightest and for Mizu it was like a punch to the gut. This was not the Tsuki he knew, his companion, his friend, someone who had unexpectedly wormed their way into his heart. He had always been able to read them like a book and he used to tease them about it. However, he later came to learn that the way they wore their heart on their sleeve was a sign of strength. For them, there was no shame to be found in boisterous laughter and there was always dignity to be found in tears. But now…now there was a mask of cold indifference in the place where his friend’s expressive face had once been. And he hated it. He hated it and he just wanted to reach out and shake them by the shoulders and beg them to bring his Tsuki back.

So he did.

He gripped their forearms and brought them closer to him. They jumped slightly, clearly startled by his actions but they still refused to meet his gaze. His grip tightened.

“Please,” he breathed out, trying to find a way to communicate how he was feeling. “You don’t have to do this-”

“Yes, I do, I need to-”

“No, you do not need to. We can find another way! We can work this o-”

“Why do you care so much?!” Tsuki snapped back, finally lifting their gaze and with emotion seeping into their voice. And maybe it was the pain and confusion that painted their features or maybe it was his own desperation, but whatever the reason was, it made him blurt out what he had been pushing down for so long.

“Because I love you!”

For a moment that seemed to stretch, neither of them spoke. The only thing he could see was the surprise that shone in Tsuki’s wide eyes and the only sounds he could hear were those of their breathing and the thrumming of his own heart in his ears. He realised that he was shaking, but even then he couldn’t stop looking into their eyes, the windows to their soul, the windows that had always let him know how they felt, no matter how much they tried to hide it from him. And there he saw it, how the surprise gave way to disbelief, then to uncertainty and finally, to hope.

“You…you do?” their voice was tiny, no more than a whisper, but being so close meant he could hear it loud and clear. Their posture was still guarded, uncertain, but it was such an improvement from their previous attitude that it almost made him sigh with relief because this meant that they had finally discarded the mask they had been wearing.

“I-” he began but then he caught some movement from the corner of his eye.

It was Miyoshi and Nanao on one of the stage wings. A part of Tasuku’s brain was wondering when the hell had they entered the theatre and how had neither of you noticed it but another part, a bigger part, was trying to process what the small sign they were holding that read ‘THIS IS NOT AN ACT!” and the shit-eating grins on their faces meant. A beat of silence passed and it was only broken when a small voice called out to him. Your voice.

“Mizu…?” his gaze immediately landed back on you and the concerned look in your eyes. One of your arms broke free from his grip and you moved it to place your right hand on his cheek. It was a delicate touch, tentative and unsure. You were still in character. “Do you really mean it?”

Right, he has to deliver his next line ‘I don’t remember a time when I didn’t love you’; it was a soft confession, spoken with a fondness that reflected the feelings Mizu had been hiding deep down for years. And he tried to open his mouth and restart, but he couldn’t. Because his flow had broken, he wasn’t Mizu anymore and you weren’t Tsuki. You were (Y/N), you were one of his dearest friends and colleagues and this confession hit too close to home for him to say it without wanting to run away and don’t look back. He belatedly realized he took too long because he could see you broke character as well when he noticed the silent question that grew in your eyes in response to his silence.

He couldn’t speak, his brain had made the switch back to regular Tasuku and regular Tasuku did not know how to convey his feelings for you. He didn’t even know if he wanted to, that’s why he had kept trying to ignore them for so long. His mouth felt dry and he quickly averted his eyes. He was not a man of many words, and whatever words did came out of his mouth tended to be curt and to the point, without a lot of emotion packed into them. But he knew that confessions were important; they should be heartfelt, they should leave no room for doubt as to the nature of your feelings. He of all people should know that well, considering all the ‘princely’ roles he’s had to play in the past. But looking into your eyes he could only feel his heart in his throat and the warmth of your palm that was still resting on his cheek.

He didn’t know what you saw in his eyes at that moment but your confusion suddenly morphed into determination and before he knew it your other hand had grabbed the front of his shirt to make him lean down closer to your face. His eyes widened and he was sure his confusion was clearly written all over his features. Why were you doing this, were you ad-libbing, were you still in character, did he forget a scene from the script; his mind was racing with all these thoughts but when you stopped just a short breath away from his face and whispered “Tasuku….can I?” his brain almost crashed like an old computer.

His brain to speech link still wasn’t working but it turned out that it didn’t matter because his body seemed to have a mind of its own as he wasted no time leaning forward and capturing your lips with his own. If you were to ask him later to describe the feeling, he would say that it wasn’t spectacular like they portrayed in books and movies, his heart didn’t explode and fireworks didn’t go off behind his eyelids. But as his hands came alive to grab your waist and bring your bodies closer together, he felt warm all over; there was a pleasant tingle on his lips and his mind felt more at peace than it had been in a long time. He deepened the kiss, trying his damndest to convey what his heart was screaming and what his words had failed to say. The hand on his face was now on top of his head, and as your nails lightly scratched his scalp and he felt you smile into the kiss when you felt the shiver that ran through him, he couldn’t stop the thought of how much he wanted to bite your lip to wipe that cheeky grin off your face. Before he could do just that, though, the sound of cheering and obnoxious whistling reached his ears.

Both of you pulled apart and looked over at one of the wings, and there were Nanao and Miyoshi where he had last seen them. They had ridiculous smiles on their faces and they looked way too pleased with themselves for Tasuku’s liking. He was about to go shout at them to demand an explanation (even if their meddling did end up helping in the end) but you beated him to the punch.

“Thank you, guys, great job!” you laughed and, when the pair gave you thumbs up in return, Tasuku almost sprained his neck with how fast he twisted his head to look at you.

“You knew they were there?” his tone rose to match his disbelief but your smile just widened as you nodded.

“I overheard them scheming one day when I was visiting the dorms,” you began. “Well, they weren’t being very discreet so maybe ‘scheming’ isn’t the right word, but anyway. I heard what they wanted to do, and I thought that it would be a good way to check for myself whether they were right about your feelings or not, so I told them to count me in.”

He blinked once. Twice. Three times. He honestly didn’t know what was stronger, his fondness for you or the exasperation he felt at that very moment because all of you decided that this was a normal and acceptable way to get him to make a move on you.

“C’mon, Tax, don’t be mad. Y’know that you wouldn’t have done it if we hadn’t given you a little nudge in the right direction,” Miyoshi chimed in. “And besides, you ended up with a super adorbs gf as a result, so this really is a total win-win.” He winked and Nanao nodded furiously in agreement with a silly grin on his face.

Tasuku let out a long sigh and shook his head. “That’s true enough,” he conceded. Both of them high-fived and he sent a small smirk your way before turning back towards them. “But,” he interrupted their little celebration. “That doesn’t mean you’re getting away scot-free.”

“Aw, man, c’mon-”

“Yeah, Tasuku, please!”

He made a show of stretching his legs while staring right at them. “Run.”

And as he chased after the two he couldn’t help the grin that crept up on his face because over their pleas, he could also hear your laughter resonating from the stage.

My honest opinion on the Natsu vs Gray Drake comparision when it pertains to the context of the “hottest”.

Personally I find such memes to be spiteful, childish and unnecessary. There’s really no need for it. You can basically show your adoration for your character in different ways without putting a char down and making your fav char look good. This is juvenile bs that teens generally do.

One post with even with harmless intentions (yes it’s harmless esp when the user said they love Gray) can certainly invoke unnecessary fan wars circa 2013 between two rival characters if you are not careful what you say

and it can put people off and rub them the wrong way.

I’m sure @Natsu-is-happiness’s intention was not to do so, but it comes as prudish. There’s really no point in comparing both of these characters because they have quite different bodies, faces, etc. Besides Gray was shown in two small panels, while Natsu got many panels of his shirtless body, so the comparison is unfair in proportion to what the chapter’s content was. There’s absolutely zero reason to involve Gray in here in a Natsu appreciation post using memes. It shows insecurity as well and makes such Natsu fans look overly obsessive and annoying.

I know my post won’t get much likes or reblogs, but I had to come clean and be honest about it. I definitely do hate the fact that @natsu-is-happiness is getting hate because she doesn’t deserve that regardless of what she typed because overall these are fictional characters, and the emotional feelings of real life people are far more important than pieces of paper.

In Denfense of All the Houses

So i feel likw the main reason the Hogwarts houses are seen as the stereotypical way as they are depends a lot upon how they are paired up. And by that I mean as G (good, brave, heroes) vs S(evil, sneaky, villain), and by default H (friendly, kind, dumb) vs R(creative, antisocial, smart). Notice how these dont really incorporate what the houses actually stand for, but because they are paired with another house, they are given opposite attributes. And I feel like this really hampered our understanding of the houses.

The narrative gives us a reason why G is good and S is evil, but due to this focus, it makes us want to do a similiar thing with H and R too. Therefore, H and R become opposites and as one is seen as friendly the other becomes antisocial and as one is seen as smart thr other becomes dumb. But these arent what the houses stand for! Any of them!

So I want to take a look at how the houses may have been interpreted differently if the narrative focused on a different pairing.

So what is the Golden Trio was sorted into Ravenclaw? Herminone is book smart, Ron knows strategy, and Harry wants to learn. Then the narrative would be R vs S. R would be as good, heroes. S would still be seen as evil, as villains. But, where R would have out of the box ideas, instead of S being seen as sneaky, maybe they would be seen as more grounded or more in touch with others. As R seems to encourage individual pursuits and success perhaps S would be seen as group success. Maybe it would be R (creative, smart, individual) vs S(straight forward, grounded, pack mentality). However, they each encourage students to follow their ambition, but since those ambitions would be in different fields, this aspect would be lost.

Then in this scenario, it would also be G vs H. Neither would be seen as the great heroes. Perhaps still more heroic than S, but not as much as the original. Perhaps the bravery of G would be seen as recklessness as opposed to H's security and keeping others safe. Perhaps the kindness of H would make G look brash in comparison. And perhaps, the openess of H, would make G look like a cliche . So perhaps in this scenario we would see H (safe, kind, friendly) vs G (reckless, brash, mean). Not quite the heroes we imagined huh?

But then what if the Golden Trio was sorted into Hufflepuff? Herminone is hardworking, Ron is kind, and Harry is loyal. Then it would be H vs S. I fear if this was the scenario, S would get an even worse reputation. As the need would be there to give them completely opposite traits. H values hardworking, fairness and loyalty, but perhaps in this scenario we would also add good, heroic, kind, and protective to their traits. But, if they are paired with/against S, that would make S lazy, unfair, cutthroat, evil, villain, and selfish by comparison. They each value protecting their own, but they have a different way going about it and I feel that would be lost in this comparison.

And in this case, we would have R vs G. Instead of H being seen as dumb, that trait would move to G. But where G is brave and voices its opinions, bravery would be seen as loud as opposed to R's quiet and studious manner. Since R is seen as smart, they must think things through, which would make them appear cautious in opposed to G's jumping in to defend. G also values chivalry which in turn would make R seem rude. It would be R (smart, quiet, cautious, rude) vs (dumb, loud, brave, polite). Neither really showcases what's important to the house but rather a rough understanding how they are seen from the outside.

And what if the villains werent in S? Would the good/evil or hero/villain traits still apply? Would loud G been seen as a villain to quiet R? Or would R be seen as intelligent and tricky and evil against G's straight forward actions and general heroics?

Would G be seen as bullies and closed minded in comparison to H's welcomness and friendliness? Or H be seen as wanting to hideaway and as cowards in comparision to G's bravery and showing off?

And what if the villains werent in S, but the heroes were? Would they finally be seen as cunning and ambitious instead of sneaky and evil? Would they be seen as apt politicians instesd of backstabbing villains?

Or what if the houses rivalry stayed the same as the books but instead of S vs G in the forefront, it was H vs R. Who would be the hero then? I feel they would be more readily seen for what they are then simple stereotypes. Maybe one would be seen as more grounded and serious and the other more with their heads in the clouds and more silly. Maybe one would be in the pursuit of knowledge while the other is in the pursuit of followers. Or G would be seem as athletic and strong jocks, while S is seem as weak nerds. Or maybe, not at all.

But you see how when we want to pair up all the houses and create this house rivalry with the rivarlry that exists with good and evil, it creates this perception of the houses that isnt true.

S isnt inherently evil or villainous, just ambitious, cunning, determined, and value self-preservation.

G isnt inherently heroic or good, just brave, courageous, athletic, and values chivalry.

H isn't inherently dumb or useless, just hardworking, fair, loyal, and values kindness.

R isnt inherently antisocial or stuck up, just creative, intelligent, wise, and values individuality.

And so, I feel like a lot of this gets lost in translation so to speak when trying to quickly summarize the houses. And I think a part of the reason for that is the house rivarly and tje need to see the houses as opposites to eah other when they're not. Traits from any of the houses can be used for good or evil and I think ots important to understand that. After all, if the story had been any different, perhaps we would have different sterotypes about the houses.

When Angels Cry

Roman sat in his car, hands on the wheel as he stared at the front door of his home…their home…warring with himself about whether to enter or not.

He hadn’t been able to shake the feelings or thoughts from that morning. Even now, he was considering giving in to his own cowardice and just running. But…he did love Patton and he wanted this to work.

It was just hard to figure out what it was he did wrong.

He took a deep breath, turning his car off and leaning back into his seat. What was it that had sparked the argument again? Something about his tie? Or his coffee? He couldn’t quite recall. They’d had so many fights lately, they all seemed to be blurring together into one great big argument.

Roman wasn’t prepared to walk in to another fight.

And no matter how hard Roman thought back, he couldn’t quite figure out where it all started. They had gone from never arguing to always arguing so quickly he wasn’t even sure how to fix it. They’d discussed communicating, being open with one another, discussing things when they came up…

But it always seemed as though Patton was blowing up when everything was at its happiest, when everything should have been fine.

So communicating clearly wasn’t working. Not that Roman wasn’t actively trying. It was hard but he was trying.

He took a deep breath as he tried to remember the fight from that morning. No…no, it had definitely been about the coffee. Roman had picked up the wrong brand again, that’s right…

Oh…and Patton had compared him to Logan…again…

Under the remaining anger and sadness, his heart twisted painfully and he sighed shakily. It wasn’t fair! How could Patton keep comparing him to Logan?! How was he still comparable? Logan had left him for Virgil ten years ago! It wasn’t exactly Roman’s fault that he had a million things in his mind, growing universes that he got lost in…

Especially at the store.

It was just a brand of coffee and somehow that meant he forgot everything. Unlike Logan, who never forgot anything. Roman nearly scoffed to himself. Of course he hadn’t. Logan had always set himself reminders. That was how he stayed on top of everything.

Because his poor phone was constantly ringing.

Well, he really couldn’t stay in the car all night…could he? No…no, he definitely couldn’t.

With a deep sigh, Roman convinced himself to get out of the car, draping his blazer over his shoulder and closing the car door behind him. It sounded so final, he mused to himself as he locked the car and wandered to the front door, setting his keys into his pocket.

Oh…

He paused at the front door, pulling out the small velvet box. How long ago had he bought this? Months, probably. He had wanted to propose, on their anniversary of four years, just before they moved into this house…but they’d had a fight and it felt wrong to propose when he was upset.

And so, the box had apparently languished in his pocket.

He shoved it back in, unlocking the front door and stepping in, “Patton, baby, I’m home.” he called, hanging his jacket up by the door and turning to the living room, “I really need you…” the world seemed to stop moving when he saw Patton sitting on the couch. Near him, a familiar dark haircut, the figure sitting with their back to the door, “…right now…”

Slowly, the head turned and Roman stared. Logan was sitting in the recliner, his eyes red-rimmed and cheeks puffy. His face crumpled when he saw Roman, darting to his feet, “I’m so sorry, Roman-”

The world was still trying to put itself back together, but the sudden apology…Roman felt his heart crash to his feet, scattering around his boots like fine glass. Never to be put back together.

“What’s going on…?” he whispered breathlessly, wondering if his chest was about to cave in as he stumbled forward, “Pat?”

Logan fought back a sob, wiping blindly at tears. Had Virgil died? No…no, they would have heard about this sooner. Logan wasn’t wearing his ring…

Wait…the call…

“I can’t keep doing this anymore-”

“Logan, please-”

“No, Patton!” Logan cried, meeting Patton’s eyes, “Just look at him!”

Roman stared between the pair, his eyes wide, feeling like a deer in headlights. Or like he’d walked into the wrong classroom and all eyes were on him but he had nowhere to go or excuses to give. He didn’t know what was happening.

“He’s so confused and he loves you so much!”

Roman frowned as Logan shook his head, taking off his glasses to try and wipe at his face.

“And I can’t deal with this guilt!”

Guilt? Roman wondered to himself, still looking between the pair, trying to understand what was happening.

“Virgil’s gone because of this!” Roman felt his gut drop to his feet next, “I don’t know where he is and I’ll never find him!” Roman wobbled.

Virgil ran? Ran from what? Why was he running? Virgil ran a lot, that was true, but Logan had always known where he was. He had always been able to bring him home, like the damn nerd had put a tracker on the flighty emo. If Logan didn’t know where he was…Virgil wouldn’t be found.

Until he wanted to be.

“What’s happening?” Roman asked, his voice wobbly and small, looking from Logan to Patton. He was scared of the answer, already feeling gutted and raw and broken, but he had to know. If this had hurt Virgil enough to tear him away from the man he’d loved for literal years even when he’d been dating Patton?

It had been bad.

Logan’s tirade stopped abruptly, turning to Roman with the most apologetic look he’d ever seen on the nerd’s face. He opened his mouth to answer, but Patton bowed his head, hands clasped between his thighs.

“Roman.” his voice was unusually serious and Roman swallowed hard, “You should come sit down.”

Everything about that felt bad. He shook his head, “No…no, I’m good right here.” he answered, his voice picking up a slight edge, “Just tell me…tell me what’s happening-”

Patton took a deep breath, lifting his head and looking to Roman. Eyes once so full of love were now cold and hard, “I’ve been seeing Logan.”

Roman scoffed, “So? You’re friends.” he answered shakily, looking from Logan to Patton. He desperately didn’t want to believe what was coming, hoping one of them wouldn’t look so damn guilty or cold, “That’s what friends do. Hang out and…see each other.”

Logan’s face crumpled and Roman half-expected a quip about how stupid he was as Patton rolled his eyes, “No, Roman. Dates.”

Now it felt like the world was shattering around him, the ground giving out from beneath him, everything he’d built crumbling down around his head.

“Dates?” he asked, voice tiny and hurt, “You’ve been…seeing Logan…like…”

“Like college, yeah.” Patton answered simply.

Had Patton and Logan swapped personalities? Why was Logan the one crying his eyes out while Patton spat out his words like facts?

“I’m so sorry, Roman.” Logan sobbed, falling into a recliner and dropping his glasses to the floor as he hid his face, “I’m so sorry, I never meant for this-”

“Never meant for this?” Roman asked, still stunned, blinking rapidly, “Never meant for what?” he asked with a scoff, feeling anger rise to fill the holes the news had left in his chest and stomach, “Never meant to date?”

Patton sighed hard, “That was my idea.” he answered and Roman jerked, turning to Patton.

“Y-” Roman barely managed to pull air into his lungs, “Your idea?”

Patton nodded and took a deep breath, “I don’t love you, Roman.” he held his gaze to Patton’s, even as the world continued to fall apart around him, “It’s been months-”

“Don’t.” Roman choked out.

Logan sobbed, “I’m so sor-”

“Don’t!” he barked, choking on his own sob and gripping the bench, hanging his head and digging out the ring. He couldn’t stop staring at the ring box, “I never stopped loving you, Patton.” he whimpered, realising tears were just raining down his face.

“I’m sorry, Roman-” Patton started.

Roman tossed the ring box across the room, watching with satisfaction as it fell on it’s side, discarding the piece of jewelry in full view, “I fucking bet you are.” he snarled, sobbing as Patton and Logan stared at the ring, “I fucking bet you’re sorry.” he hiccuped on a sob, “Were you sorry to Virgil too? Huh?” Patton’s head swivelled to Roman, eyes widening slightly as he kept trying to swipe tears from his cheeks, “Did you apologise so sincerely?” his voice broke and he felt his chest cave, the pain cold and aching, like a twisting knife, “I bet he really believed you.”

“Don’t bring Virgil into this-”

Roman scoffed, “Fuck you.” he stormed out of the kitchen and up the stairs, his mind racing with thoughts he couldn’t quite catch, his body alight with anger and heartbreak and pain. He didn’t bother to pack a bag, changing out of his suit and leaving it haphazardly thrown on the bed.

He chose a tight pair of jeans and an old t-shirt, sliding his old bomber jacket on and looking to the mirror. He knew where he was going, what he was doing and he wanted to look his damn best for it too.

Roman didn’t really know any other way to tell himself that it was really over.

He was almost going to storm out the door when he saw the state the bed was in…

Roman remembered making the bed that morning…he remembered because he had hoped to put Patton in a slightly better mood, see that he was still loved…

He winced as the twisting knife stabbed him again. What a pathetic excuse of a boyfriend he was. Making the bed-

And then it occurred to him.

He wanted to scream, wanted to tear his hair out, wanted to throw the photo frames across the room until they shattered. But he lashed out at the bed instead, pulling the sheets from the mattress, pulling the duvet out of the cover, discarding pillows from their cases.

He stood amongst a pile of fabric, the sheets and covers Patton had picked himself, picking one of them up and tearing it between his hands. It felt so fucking good to do so.

So he did again.

And again.

Until his mountain of fabric was three times the size it had been.

He dragged it back with him into the living room. Logan had excused himself out to the back porch, with Patton looking worriedly at Logan’s shaking shoulders. Those eyes hardened when they turned to Roman, before widening.

“When I get back, I want you out of my house. You and all your shit.” he growled. Patton’s eyes widened and he opened his mouth to argue, “You want the house, take me to court.” he snarled, “Oh, and your cards are hereby cancelled.”

Patton got to his feet as Roman moved to the front door, “Roman, think about this for a second.” Roman paused at the front door, “We’ve been unhappy for months. You’re too busy at work to-”

Roman spun on Patton, “Don’t you dare put the blame on me.” he growled, “You refused to get a fucking job.” Patton’s eyes widened, “You wanted a big ass house. I’m the one keeping the fucking lights on.” he snarled, “So you can shoulder your own goddamn fucking guilt.” he turned back to the door, “Get your shit out of my house. And don’t you ever talk to me again.”

Patton was silent as Roman stormed out, using his phone to drain Patton’s accounts and cancel the cards. He climbed into his car, slamming the door shut and changed the password into the accounts.

He wasn’t paying the layabout ‘househusband’ shit. Cheat on him… have sex in their bed? What happened to ‘I love you’ and ‘I promise I’ll never’?

He reversed out, more than prepared to go drown his sorrows. He powered through the streets, only snapping out of his anger when he saw a familiar black and purple hoodie slowly making its way down the sidewalk. He pulled over, rolling his window down.

“Get in bitch, we’re getting plastered.”

Virgil jumped, turning to Roman. His eyes widened with surprise, before they hardened with pain and anguish, “I’m not going back to Logan-”

Roman laughed bitterly, “Forget that asshole.” he snarled, relishing the way Virgil’s eyes widened. His heart twisted when he saw the understanding and sympathy in Virgil’s eyes.

He climbed into the car, his bangs falling over his eyes and he slumped as Roman pulled away from the sidewalk.

“I’m so sorry-”

Roman shook his head, “You did nothing wrong.” He answered, “Not yet.”

“Yet?” he asked cautiously.

“You. Me. Bar. Copious amounts of alcohol. Two bad phone calls.”

Virgil raised an eyebrow, “Revenge sex?” he asked with a wet scoff, “You are pissed.”

Roman’s grip tightened on the wheel, “I was gonna propose.” he whispered and Virgil slumped, “I blamed myself for our arguments. Hated that I was compared to Logan…” Virgil winced, “But I get it now.” he growled, “What pisses me off, is they fucked in my bed.”

There was silence for a few moments, “You kicked him out, didn’t you?” he asked softly.

“Yup.” Roman answered, “I have the job. I have the money. I paid for it. My house.” Virgil inhaled shakily, “Not to mention, we aren’t married.” he pulled in front of the bar, “What about you, V?” he asked softly.

He was surprised he’d managed to, considering how angry and upset he was.

“I can’t go back. I can’t see everything we built. I can’t even look at my ring.” his hand was shaking and Roman saw he was still wearing it, “I’m too scared to check my accounts. I’m too scared to answer when he calls. I don’t-”

Roman reached his hand out, palm up, an offering, “I have some space at my place.” he offered, “A spare room. Housemate is moving out.” it was a weak attempt at a joke but Virgil still scoffed, “You didn’t quit your job, did you?”

He shook his head, “No…but I was so scared of Logan showing up that I didn’t…”

Roman hummed, “I can handle that.” Virgil looked up at him, “I’d rather you be sad and mopey while safe at my place than the streets.” he spoke more seriously, noting the way Virgil’s eyes darted away and a tear slipped down his cheeks, “And I missed your art.”

“You did?” he whispered, looking hesitantly to Roman.

“Uh huh. Lots of room for it at my place.” he pulled his key from the ignition, “Think on it.” he offered, “Preferably over six or seven shots.”

Virgil left his bag in the car as he got out and Roman took that as a good sign, “Make it nine and you got a deal.” a hesitant smirk pulled at his cheek.

“Then it’s a deal. C’mon.” he slung his arm over Virgil’s shoulders, “Let’s get so hammered that calling Dee and Rem seem like good ideas.”

A small but genuine laugh escaped Virgil as they stepped inside, “You know what? Why the fuck not.” he leaned a little into Roman’s side, “We’re single now, right?”

“Right.”

Virgil paused, looking down to his hand and taking a deep breath, before pulling his ring off, “We’re single now.”

Roman squeezed Virgil’s still impossibly tiny shoulders, “And responsibility is for boring people.”

That earned him the first genuine laugh to a joke he’d heard in…well, a very, very long time.

Gabriel was, in your mind, perfect. He was the first time you met him during the apocalypse, he was after Ketch had saved him from Hell, he was now, six months after the fact and still living with the boys and you at the bunker.

Sam and Dean teased you constantly after they caught you staring at his ass, but never brought it up in front of him. Instead, they would wait, and find new ways to make your cheeks red.

But the boys never too it too far, and never told anyone anything about your little crush. They wouldn’t dare do anything like that to you. Big brothers through and through.

Gabriel made you smile and made you feel attractive, and gave you confidence, something you have been struggling with a your life.

You were content with the fact that you’ll never be a size 12, and that you will never have a thigh gap, but seeing Gabriel with girls that you could never compete always felt like a stab in the gut. Tall, thin, gorgous. In comparision, you looked vile.

So, you remained content with his friendship and swore never to tell him about your feelings for him. Sam and Dean commented that he was like a loss puppy around you, that he’d do anything you’d ask if you said it loud enough, but you could never see it.

You were just happy to be able to make him smile, to be an ear. Even if being an ear meant listening to all of his sexual explots.

It was all fine and dandy until the boys got you drunk.

It was post a hunt, you had nearly lost your life but gained a new scar, all healed thanks to Cas. The fucker you were hunting had been a slipery little shit but you got there in the end. To celebrate, the boys took you to a bar. Where you proceeded to get sloshed.

You don’t remember much from the night before, only calling out to Gabriel that you needed a lift home and then waking up in your bed, head pounding with a confused archangel looking down at you.

You groan, moving to sit up so you can attempt to figure out the damage. Before you can even start, Gabriel opens his mouth.

“What do you remember from last night?” He asks, voice terse.

“Well, good morning to you too, sunshine.” You sass back as the headache begins to break. “Thank you.” You offer as you start to think back over the the night before with a slighty clearer head. The body shots, the beer, the King’s Cup you managed to scull without passing out. Calling for Gabriel, crying into Dean’s shoulder as you shouted how unfair it was that he’d never love you back. “Fuck.” You mutter as Gabriel moves to sit down beside you.

“You remember, huh?” He asks softy. “Did you mean it?”

You feel mortified, cheeks as red as ever as you begin to feel the anxiety of the situation take over. “You don’t have to say it back.” Is all you manage to say, shame joining your tidal waves of emotions. “I get it.”

Gabriel just looks back at you, further confused. “You get what?”

You simply shrug. “That I’m not your type.” You indicate to yourself. “That I’m not on parr with you, I get that. And that’s okay. I didn’t mean to ruin our friendship.”

As you move to try and escape the room, Gabriel grasps at your hand. “What do you mean not my type? Not on parr?” You refuse to say a thing. “C’mon sweets, talk to me.”

“I see the girls you hang out with. They look nothing like me. You deserve better than me, and I know you don’t like me back so, really, I-”

“Whoa whoa whoa whoa.” Gabriel is quick to interupt. “Who said I didn’t like you back? Sweets, you are the sun, the stars and the moon to me. There is literally no one more important to me than you. I thought you weren’t interested in me, that you were out of my league!” You blink.

“What?” You look down at him.

“You make me laugh sweets, all the time. You are hilarious, and kind, and smart, and sexy, yes, sexy Y/N.” He tells you as you go to rebutt. “As for not being my type? Sugar, I don’t know where you’ve been, but the boys have teasing me ince day one about my feelings for you. You walk into the room, my brain travels south. I lose all thought processes and you take over my mind. I think about you constantly, and look out for you more often than I would any other human. Father, Y/N, you are perfect to me and anyone who says otherwise is eiher stupid, blind or both.” You can feel yourself relax under his golden gaze.

“You like me?” You ask, seeking confirmation.

“Like? Sugar, I love you-”

The moment he says this, you tackle him to the bed, holding him close, not once concerned about your weight on him, that you probably reeked of alcohol and morning breath and that you looked like a banshee.

He loved you. At the end of the day, that’s all that mattered.

I'm of the idea that going off model is actually benefitial for animation. The problem with Steven Universe is that it doesn't feel natural for it's art direction at all. This is why on/off model is such a heated topic when analyzing Steven Universe's animation and unlike no ither anime. Steven Universe (past S1 when the style was more loose) is all about geometry, simmetry, boldness, big flat areas of color, tick lines and hard shapes overall. So when a character is drawn off it's EXTREMELY noticeable. Peridot is literally a hourglass with a Dorito on her head, one of the simplest characters and yet she looks different in almost every single scene she appears so sitting through an episode becomes really annoying. From her hair/head and body having different ratio and proportions to her height being shorter/taller (with no thematical reasons for it) to looking straight out Ctrl+Alt+Del. It's unfair to bring Ren & Stimpy, Ed Edd & Eddy, Fooly Cooly and Looney Toones that I see people keep bringing up when those were all about loose drawings and loose animation. Steven Universe it's not. Go find an animation with similar art direction to Steven Universe and make comparisions. Just stuff I wanted to type down.

I'm an older full-time college student and my husband works full-time at Walmart. In the past three years, I've been through 4 cancer related surgeries, which were paid for by the breast/cervical cancer Medicaid program. I'm now on my husband's health insurance, which is basically worthless because our income is under $20,000/yr and the policy has a $4500 deductible plus 20% after. I haven't seen my oncologist for over a year because we can't afford the expensive scans, biopsies, and lab work associated with cancer follow-up with a deductible that high. I thought my situation would change in 2014 with Obamacare. I recently learned from the healthcare.gov website calculator that our income is low enough to qualify for expanded Medicaid (which our state decided not to expand), but I don't qualify for the health insurance subsidies I desperately need because the outrageous deductible health insurance from my husband's job covers spouses. How can a couple with an income so low they would qualify for expanded Medicaid be ineligible for subsidies? I am completely devastated over this and I don't know what to do. Not being able to afford cancer follow up care is putting my life in danger. Even if my husband's employer (Walmart) quit covering the spouses of full-time employees, I think that would only apply to new hires because of the grandfather clause. If getting subsidies was based on income alone the way it should be instead of access to employer provided coverage, I would qualify for a zero deductible policy and $3 co-pays with a monthly premium of around $60. I could then afford the expensive health care I need. We live in a college town so if my husband got a different job, he'd make even less than he does now and we would probably end up homeless. If my husband transfers and we move to a state that's expanding Medicaid, I'll have to quit school and get rid of my German Shepherd and Siberian Husky since it's almost impossible to find a landlord that allows them. We thought another option might be to get a divorce on paper and co-habitate until our situation changes (completing my degree and getting a good job so I can afford the deductible), then re-marry.
