Wow, I wrote it in big ass letters, maybe should have gone capital letters actually.

JK”s BOYFRIEND.

Well, by now I think it’s safe to refer to said BF at the very least as a life partner.  Yes, I said that too.  LIFE PARTNER.

Anyways....just wanted to give a few little examples of JK, the maknae of the group, the one that is expected to respect his hyungs, and that does so too, standing up to them, lowkey, all for his bf, the love of his life, the person he cherishes, the man he adores, his number 1 in the group’s looks ranking, the person he thinks is cute, and knows he’s cute, the one he will follow around and sticks to when he can, the one he connects to when on stage and has shown him multiple times, on stage, that he loves him, the one he turns to when he’s distressed or stressed or upset or needs reassuring or comforting, the person who owns that butt that he just can’t get enough of and the one he told us he will keep on holding to.

And if by this point it’s not clear who that person is, well the problem is yours, not mine.

I am not going to mention said person’s name in this post.  

Not once. 

I’ll let JK do the talking for me.

So, JK isn’t always too verbal.  He’s a man of action.  And even if he wants to talk, at times (we see it in ot7 interviews and lives), he finds it hard to get a word in with the hyungs all talking at once.  He’s getting better at it, showing more confidence around them (re the LA live snapping at Suga that he ain’t done talking), but he still ain’t fully there yet.

These examples I’ll be giving are about that.  Him talking up for ***** oops almost slipped out.  Standing up for the love of his life.  It’s him being verbal and it’s towards the hyungs, which at the time, he feels are being unfair towards the man he adores.

And let me say this to you:  the man JK adores, that said love of his life, he got a mouth on him, and he most definitley knows how to use it too.  He knows how to stand up for himself, if needed.  He knows how to bite back, if needed.  I’d say that most of the time he’s better at it than JK  (well, again, up until lately, cause JK has improved so much when it comes to expressing himself verbally, part of him growing and maturing).  This is important to know, cause that man, the beautiful cute man that JK is smitten for, he mostly doesn’t need rescuing.  It’s JK that needs to rescue.  Got it?  Not that Mr. “JK’s the love of my life” doesn’t love it though.

How dare Yoongi say the love of JK’s life looks like a bus driver, eh?  JK’s reaction:  right back at you, hyung.  Must use the honorific, lest he be disrespectful, lol.

We also had the bug ‘incident’ in Sowoozoo, lol.

The BF deciding it’s the bug’s birthday wishing it a happy birthday (we were in a mood that day, lol).  Jin pipes up “it’s not their birthday” (like he would know...) and clearly the man who loves to wake up by JK’s side needed saving, so JK’s reaction to that was “why not? It could also be their birthday today”.

The visit to the UN

JK was super supportive for his man during the speech.  In the live they had after the guys were going on about the little ‘slip up’ during the speech (poor man was super nervous, understandably), the others were kind of not being too sympathetic, to say the least.  JK sat through it, until he had enough of it.  

Playing the piano

Again Yoongi, lol.

The green juice incident

JK’s bae bought a cucumber flavored drink.  The others didn’t like it.  Even he admitted he didn’t like it, but JK said he thought it was good.  

Out of bullets

We also have Jin goading JK to, god forbid, shoot his partner with his camera.  Good thing JK was out of bullets.  Nah, he wasn’t really.  That was just one more example of him standing up to his hyung to protect the man he intends to marry, if he hasn’t done so already.

I know I did say I’m limiting this post to verbal reactions.  But let’s be real here.  How can I not give the Run BTS “I’m gonna clobber you Yoongi” moment an honourable mention?

Thing was JK was for real here.  He was gonna have at it with Yoongi.  It’s not only JK’s facial expression, he was pissed, but it was also Hobi’s reaction too.  He could see the anger on JK, he tenses up, and only when JK retreats he allows himself to laugh.  Yoongi handled himself well, and JK got a hold on himself there, but that face, going at Yoongi with that frying pan in hand, it’s bloody hilarious. 

See?  Managed to write a whole long ass post without mentioning JM’s name once. 

Not once did I mention JM.  JM the love of JK’s life.  JM, you know, JK’s boyfriend.  JM the cute handsome (JK told us) life partner.

Fly High, Baby! by beartea on AO3

This one is one of my favorites. I’ll probably go hunting for the post (here!) I made for it but I went so hard on my lil review. It’s a reverse harem, slow burn. But they have such a beautiful writing style and their characterizations are spot on. I don’t know if anyone else have ever understood these characters this well with how they break down the characters. Literally break them down, make them raw because they’re crying and you’re crying suddenly too. The MC is incredibly relatable IMO. She has a personality while also being written where you can relate to her. I see myself in her. But I also see my friends. And my friends are themself in her. And she’s annoying. And frustrating. And she’s human. Reverse harem includes: Ushijima Wakatoshi, Kuroo Tetsurou, Sugawara Koushi, Akaashi Keiji, Iwaizumi Hajime, Oikawa Tooru.

Times I’ve cried reading: probably like at least 5x. MC does have a given last name but that is because she’s adopted. Also, I’m not an Ushi fucker at all, but tea made me like,,, just love ushi,,, a lot

Another masterpiece, also a favorite. I think Ren does a great job world building, she truly makes it an experience and at this point I’m not even reading it for the haikyuu boys LOL. I absolutely love how she brings us into the story (as the MC or just as a reader) and submerses us into this world she created. she does a great job showing us the world rather than telling, keeping us in the dark like MC, and guiding us through the world like MC as well. Ren also has an incredible way of understanding the characters, even their alternate forms because at the core they’re all the same. But because the ones in the alternate world grew up in a harsher environment of sorts, they seem different. Harem includes: Ushijima Wakatoshi, Bokuto Koutarou, Kuroo Tetsurou, Miya Osamu, Miya Atsumu, Kita Shinsuke, Suna Rintarou, Oikawa Tooru 

Ren has multiple side stories intertwined as well which makes it just absolutely amazing. I should ALSO mention, I was already an inarizaki fucker but Ren made me go oh shit. also the same as I said about Ushi from beartea, I was not an Ushi fucker but Ren also made me like him a lot more

UGH one of my favorite series (I keep saying that) for osamu this time. I love the way remy portrayed MC. She’s frustrating and annoying but so real. I think more so because I’d do what she’d do lol (i was going to add all the chapters word counts but lol)

Haikyuu fanfic recs for ones I liked hehe

Anyway, as the title suggests, I am recommending some fanfics for popular(ish) ships that I personally really enjoyed! I’m only doing one or two fics per ship (which in hindsight is KILLING me so I’m just putting the first fics I find and am like I really liked that one LOL) because I wanted to do a shorter fic rec list (tho watch this become super long LOL). I also may or may not be procrastinating finishing a couple other long posts, so there’s that hehe. For the (kinda but not really) public consensus for best fics per ship (by kudo count) check out some of my other posts. Also I’m putting some ships I don’t actually read much of (OOPS LOL) so if you think that there’s a fic that fits my type (if I even have a consistent type) better, pls tell me LOL. Otherwise, pls continue heh :)

The Loyalty of a Traitor by DeathBelle (E) 76.9k // ok so does me liking this fic make me basic cause I feel basic LOL. I really love mafia fics, and the way the story line developed was SO good, like IN LOVE with this story. This is a fic where you should read WARNINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARY before diving in, but if the length scares you, don’t be. It’s so easy to fall in and get lost in the writing!

the courtship ritual of the hercules beetle by kittebasu (chanyeol) (T) 66.3k // again, basic? Probably LOL but it’s good so I have no shame ;) Again, pls don’t let the word count scare you (cause it scared me LOL), you get really into it after like 2 paragraphs, so just make sure you have enough time to finish hehe.

KuroKen:

Thicker Than Blood by kylar (M) 91.4k // are you surprised that there is another mafia one? You really shouldn’t be LOL. Anyway, I’ll just be here pushing my mafia fanfic agenda while you read this monster of a fic hehe :) Definitely read WARNINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARY because there is some very sensitive topics involved! I also adore the oibokuroo friendship headcannon, so more reasons to read, right?

Liked, Commented and Subscribed by Royal Society of Pandas (Abarcelos) (T) 45.7k // this fic is SO funny omg. I read it and I had to stop so many times just to laugh because I could not stop sometimes LOL. However, there IS angst towards the end, it gets resolved, but it’s still there... But honestly, it just adds such depth and flavor to the fic, so pls read it!

BokuAka:

bang! now we're even by Authoress (M) 11.9k // so I’ll be honest, I don’t read a lot of BokuAka (...oops?) and so I wouldn’t consider myself as the best person to be recommending fics for this ship (in general too LOL).... ANyway, I love myself some good spy AUs (was gonna put that IwaOi spy AU but the LIMIT), and Akaashi in a dress? Like the tags might state, what more do you need? The characters are done beautifully, and the story development is SO good, so I give you all my humble BokuAka rec.

Crisis Converted by valiantarmor (M) 60k // man do I really love fighting in my fics LOL. This was super good and the plot itself kept me really engaged (what a twist omg). It does talk a bit about mental health issues, but it’s done so well, and they really did this AU justice!

DaiSuga:

How to Manage by SuggestiveScribe (E) 39.3k // ok so yea yea we established, I’m basic, BUT can you blame me? This might’ve been one of the first DaiSuga’s I’ve read and I have no regrets. Literally, this fic series is one of my favorites, so OF COURSE I had to add it somewhere :D Honestly, I don’t even think you need to read the first one to understand what’s going on, but I would just cause it has some funny DaiSuga moments too ;) This is explicit for PWP, so proceed with caution~~

Add New Contact by booksong (G) 8.5k // this one! It’s so cute and poor Daichi LOL. He really out here doing the most,,, Anyway, we love tech Suga, and a nice dash of snarky tsukki (LOL is he salt, yes yes he is). It’s very fluff and pine, so if you want to read Daichi having gay panic like 24/7, go right ahead LOL.

Burden of Blame by DeathBelle (E) 91.2k // ummmm, haha what, another mafia AU? Me, predictable? Noooo, never..... Anyway, this one was so freakin’ good like, love it so much! It’s one of my favorite mafia AU fics, and I love the story line progression. Poor Atsumu being dragged into this mess, but it’s okay because THEY are IN LOVE. Honestly, this fic is Atsumu best boy like he is the best boy. BEST BOY.

Notte Stellata by awkwardedgeworth (T) 20.9k // I ignored all of the other fics I LOVE in this ship (like the pain I’m in rn), but I love this fic with my whole heart. Like I have reread this fic multiple multiple times because I love it so much (tho I might’ve skipped the angst a couple of times cause I didn’t want the pain okay?). I keep coming back, and the second fic in this series is SO funny and cute and I love it here. Please read it, it’s so FREAKING good, angst and ALL.

Team Mom by All_My_Characters_Are_Dead (T) 2.7k // so as I was going through this tag (because that’s what I do LOL), I remembered this fic and I love it. Like yes Yahaba is the fear factor and yes Kyoutani is the DAD. I really like the team dynamics in this one, and the first years make me laugh pls.

Camellias by kiyala (T) 1.9k // IK you’re all like, you’re missing such great fics, like no I’m not I just made myself hate myself by limiting fics to two per,,, I love this fic and when I starting looking for this ship, it was the first one I thought of hehe. I really love magic and their interactions are so cute and the PLANTS ARE DOING THE MOST. Pls read both in the series, cause domestic KyouHaba is best KyouHaba ngl LOL. I love the plants, and if you read the second one, someone tell the trees to stop bullying Yahaba.

MatsuHana:

This gets annoying fast, Makki by Ink_stained_quills (G) 2.3k // IM IN LOVE WITH THIS FIC PLS I COULD NOT STOP CRYING TEARS OF LAUGHTER. This AU needs more fics PLEASE. It was SO freakin’ funny and the other teams KILLED ME. Like how they all approached the problem differently and how some of them (KUROO) asked for help LOL. Please this is so freaking funny go read it.

boiled frogs by reginagalaxia (E) 91.5k // I told myself I was gonna put my most angsty fics on another post (which I will for my other favorite MatsuHana angst fic which I love), but this fic. Omg I saw it and I was like I have to. Literally I have to. I hate angst, but read it. It, the, plot, omg, I jjfnsfknalkjdnf ljksan. Like I’m not sure you understand. This fic. asjfjfsadnldjb. I never thought I could hate a character SO MUCH,,,, like SO MUCH. READ TAGS, WARNINGS, AND SUMMARIES because some serious stuff really goes down. Bless Iwa-chan.

Accidentally in Love by pancake_surprise (T) 19.6k // JOSE CUERVO strikes. I love this fic and all the chaos in it. The way they were supposed to be the responsible couple (of friends LOL),,, sike. This one is only a slight angst and it’s mostly love and fun :) Also technically this is no longer the first fic in the series, but I’m still putting this one cause the other one is SakuAtsu orientated hehe :)

Spring Secrets by DeathBelle (T) 3.8k // Seasons might be one of my favorite (as all things also seem to be) series of all times. I don’t like rerecommending fics I’ve already said to read, which is why I’m not yelling at you to go read a certain other fic (which is my life and blood). Anyway, this fic series is all fluff barely angst (maybe that’s why I like it) but it’s so freakin good pls read it all ahhhhhh.

I wish to live in a world by hatsuna (T) 24.8k // ok ngl this fic was so sad and relatable? Like I was like wtf why are you making me cry rn even though like I shouldn’t be? My heart? Pain. (Hotel? Trivago.) Technically, this is END GAME but the main pairing is kinda SakuAtsu???? Something of the sort, but also their relationship (Komori and Sakusa) is written so well and idk guys I think you need to read this fic rn.

hhh ok this is super late i’m so sorry so this is going to be a few initial thoughts that i /did/ note down but then mostly how i feel about the songs after ~a week i guess (also some of this is probably similar to stuff you said sorryyy, it just took me f o r e v e r to put my thoughts somewhere other than a computer file oops)

anyway!! thoughts on the songs below the cut!!

interlude: shadow - sigh i do this every time but i wish i’d noted down some thoughts on this (& black swan and ego) when they first came out because now i don’t know what to say rip, i love the instumentals at the start of this wow and then yoongi’s voice !!!! the lyrics on this are just a lot emotionally gosh, and it’s a lot of stuff that we’d heard yoongi talk about before, i’m thinking especially of his poem in that run episode, but it still hits hard. G O D and then when the beat gets heavier (is that the right word) and his flow completely changes - i remember just staring at the screen when the mv came out oh my life

black swan - i really liked this when it came out, it was so different and hauntingly beautiful. i didn’t have the same instant love for it as i did for boy with luv but i really love it now, i think seeing that first stage of it on james corden really helped tbh because WOW. hobi’s verse into yoongi’s is such a GOOD part of this song i love it. you can tell how personal the lyrics are to them but at the same time it’s so relatable ;;;; i think that can apply to lyrics in a lot of their songs tbh and it’s one of the things i really love about them, that their music can be an outlet for their own thoughts/experiences/feelings while also calling out to the fans and /their/ thoughts/experiences/feelings

filter - killed me from the first listen oml, my mind immediately trying to imagine what kind of choreo this could have hahahh it’s fine. i adore the warm comfort of serendipity and promise but i also LOVE how different this is. jimin’s voice is just beautiful and he sounds gorgeous in his higher range but OH MY GOD those moments when his voice just goes so much deeper - the ‘yeah’ at ~2:09 Gand the 'ay’ near the end GOODBYE

my time - again so different from jk’s previous solo stuff, i love the way they’re exploring different sounds on this album. his vocals sound so beautiful on this track. i love the change in lyrics in the final chorus from 'i can’t’ to 'will you’, the song is so emotional the whole way though but i like that shift into a more hopeful/optimistic view ;;; and ahhh the vocalising at the end YES JK

louder than b/mbs - AHHH we really got a bts/troye sivan collab i’m so happy about this and oml the track is beautiful not that i’d expect anything less from that combo wow. i really love the way the vocal lines voices sound in this song and their high notes YES. namjoon’s voice in this oh my G O D and yoongi’s verse is amazing omg. i love when the rap lines parts all follow on from each other because it really lets you see how different they are but also how damn well they work together. this was probably one of the songs that i liked most on first listen and i still really love it CHILLS

ON - ahhh i hadn’t listened to the teaser for this beforehand so i really had no idea what to expect when i started the mv but wow this goes OFF, it’s got such a powerful performance value i really cannot WAIT to see what they do with this for tour oml. the drums!!! HOBI’S VERSE YES i love it ahhh and yoongi repeating the last line of hobi’s verse at the start of his SO GOOD. and not to sound like literally everyone but JK’S BRIDGE oh my god OMG?? he really did that he sounds incredible. an amazing title track oml

ugh! - *confession time* (why do i always do this for one track every album istg) i really wasn’t sure about this one for a looong time…. i’m not really sure why tbh because the beat is great, their flows are great and i could already sense the amazing energy it would have live from the first listen but for some reason i just wasn’t feeling it. it’s grown on me a hell of lot since, not one of my faves from the album but i definitely like it a lot more now. namjoon’s verse and the start of hobi’s are probably my favourite parts. GAH the bit at the end really goes off!!!

zero o'clock - ohh this is beautiful, vocal line tracks are always gorgeous ;;;; also i am very glad that i didn’t do a listen with lyrics until a few days after it dropped, it made me sob anyway when i did but oml if i’d looked up the lyrics on release day when i still felt /awful/ after my terrible week i can’t even imagine how i’d have felt…. 'and you gonna be happy’ artists for healing indeed ;;;

inner child - the instrumentals are so beautiful and tae’s voice is so beautiful and the lyrics are so beautiful and ahhh gosh i love this and him a lot ;;;; another one that made me cry when i listened with lyrics, the 'you’re my boy’ bit always gets me

friends - MY HEART this is the cutest damn thing just them reminiscing and showing their love for each other they’re so precious ;;; i love the inclusion of tae’s 'hey jimin, oneul’ from when they were recording it’s such an adorable personal touch. and when they call each other soulmate PLS. ahhh and i love the bit at the end with the gang vocals and the clapping it’s such a good end. i can’t wait to watch them be soft af with each other on stage performing this oml

moon - the first thing i wrote about this on first listen was just 'JIN’S VOICE ahhhh’ and i stand by that!! he really does sound amazing and i love that it’s upbeat, we know jin can kill it on a ballad but hearing him do something different is so nice as well. i really love the melody for this song so much it’s so lovely and the lyrics are so sweet i love it, i love JIN ;;;

respect - i love the beat for this so much oml, the AYO SUGA pls ;;; best throwback, god i’m so unbelievably happy to have a yoongi and namjoon subunit song and they really just bounce off each other so well. and i love the bit of satoori dialogue at the end!! this is such a JAM

we are bulletproof: the eternal - my first listen notes: 'oh nooo, this is the sad emotional one isn’t it ;;;; 'yeah we have you’ pls stop i can’t deal with this’, i really did expect this to have a similar vibe to the other we are bulletproofs hhhh, should have seen this coming with it being the second to last song though rip, but wow this song is beautiful and will 100% make me cry live ;;;; i love hobi’s verse in this, there’s always something about his verses in the slow, emotional concert ending-type songs that really gets me. gosh i just love them all so much and i’m so so glad that i found them

outro: ego - sdfgfa the mood change here, they said no more tears time to BOP. as i said for shadow i really wish i’d written down thoughts about this when the mv came out sigh. but it’s just so beautifully hobi and ahh it’s been 2 years since hope world so i’ve listened to that a lot today as well and it fits so perfectly with that vibe!!!

so yeah overall i really love this album, yay!!

so this has been sitting half finished in my scriv for like…. 7 months?  oops?  also it kind of ran away and wound up being IwaTanaDai and the prompt got lost a little.

If Daichi had his phone at least he could pretend to be occupied by it.  He wouldn’t have anyone to call to rescue him since his roommate and his best friend were two of the three jerks who had locked them all in here and his second best friend is no match for his first best friend in terms of threat. But unfortunately Suga had snatched his phone mere seconds before shoving him into the bathroom with Tanaka right behind him - having had his phone confiscated by Ennoshita - and before Daichi could even consider a reaction the door leading to Oikawa’s room had opened and then Iwaizumi had been shoved into the bathroom from that side.

Daichi had rattled his door and heard Iwaizumi on the other side doing the same.

“Don’t bother, Dai,” Suga had called out.  “Oikawa and I ordered a couple of those door jammer braces. You aren’t getting out until we let you out.”

Tanaka, who had been silently watching the other two struggle with the doors called out.

“Ennoshita.  If something bad happens to me in here be warned: Noya will avenge me.  It’s in our best friend pact.”

“Believe me, Tanaka,” Ennoshita calmly replied, “Nishinoya coming after me in the dark of night with gnawed down popsicle sticks doesn’t exactly send a shiver of fear through me.”

“Now you three be good and have yourselves a little chat.”  Oikawa knocked on his door.  “And we’ll let you out later.”

Iwaizumi looked around the small bathroom before dropping into the tub with a growled “Don’t even think about turning the water on” and was now sitting in the small bathtub, fully clothed, with his knees hooked over the edge and his sneakered feet tapping the side of the tub.  Tanaka had hopped onto the counter top and was pawing his way through every drawer and basket and cup he could reach.  Daichi was sitting on the toilet - lid down thank you very much he had only made that drunken mistake once and would never again if he could help it - and wondering where exactly in his life he went wrong to be here: locked in his own bathroom in his university dorm suite with the two guys he had the most ridiculously huge crushes on.  

Logically he knew exactly where he went wrong.  He went wrong when he realized that he had a crush on not one person, but two.  Two kind, funny, attractive, athletic, sassy, amazing people that he was pretty sure he probably never even had a chance with since he knew that they both had a crush of sorts on each other.  (He went doubly wrong a few minutes later when Suga caught him during their Skype call staring at the way Iwaizumi was talking to Oikawa about running into Tanaka at the youth volleyball camp that he had picked Oikawa’s nephew up from earlier that week and Suga had given Daichi a knowing look because of course Suga knew about how Daichi felt about Tanaka already and then there was Iwaizumi being all adorable and disheveled from playing with Oikawa’s nephew all afternoon and Daichi knew somewhere in his mind he was done for.)

The worst part was that it wasn’t even like he could blame Iwaizumi for anything.  It wasn’t like Iwaizumi had swooped in on Tanaka and plucked him out of Daichi’s hands.  Daichi hadn’t even realized his feelings for Tanaka had bubbled up into a crush until the moment he heard Iwaizumi talking about Tanaka and a blade of jealousy had knifed through him.  Then approximately five minutes later Suga had let out a bark of laughter and Daichi wanted to curl up in a ball and never face the world again.

That led to months of pining and wistful yet sultry looks shared between the three of them - Suga’s words not Daichi’s - which somehow led to Suga calling him that morning and saying he and Tanaka and Ennoshita were coming over because they needed to talk to him and now he’s locked in his own bathroom.  While he tries not to cringe at Tanaka digging through everything he can reach because this is Daichi’s bathroom too and some of that stuff is his and other than Asahi and Suga and now Oikawa no one else knew how much effort Daichi actually puts into his personal hygiene.

“What even is this?”  Tanaka’s voice pulled Daichi from his musings of running away to a new country to avoid his so called best friend for the rest of his life.  Daichi’s face flushed and then went pale when he saw the tube in Tanaka’s hand.  He really wished that the most embarrassing thing Tanaka could find in here would be a bottle of lube.  Sadly Tanaka was nowhere near that drawer at the moment.  “What exactly is ‘Beautiful Skin Melting Gel’ and why does Oikawa have it?”

Iwaizumi coughed against the back of his hand and raised his eyebrows knowingly.  Daichi glared at him.  Tanaka laughed and kept muttering about Oikawa’s bizarre beauty products - “‘purifying charcoal cleansing gel’ what the fuck?” - and comparing them to stuff his sister had in her bathroom while Daichi simultaneously threatened Iwaizumi silently to just keep his mouth shut and tried not to die.  At least he wouldn’t have to worry about liking both Tanaka and Iwaizumi both because he’ll either be on the run from the cops or in jail for the murders of Oikawa Tooru and Sugawara Koushi.  He’ll just maim Ennoshita a little.  He was probably just a minor co-conspirator after all.  The spike of panic and fear shooting down his spine as Tanaka pulls open the next drawer is all Oikawa and Suga’s fault.

Daichi looked away from Iwaizumi’s smirk to see Tanaka pull out a small basket and rattle it around.

“Why the hell does a bathroom shared by two guys have so many chapsticks and lip balms and is that one shaped like an egg?”

“Kissable lips are a must, obviously,” Iwaizumi said.  His face turned pink when the other two looked at him.  “Oikawa says weird shit sometimes okay?  I can’t help it if some of it sticks.”  Daichi snorted softly at the uncomfortable way Iwaizumi shifted at the attention and then froze when Iwaizumi grinned.  “Though I can’t remember ever seeing him use or talk about that brand.  Pretty sure he hates it, to be honest.  The flavors aren’t right or something.”

Nope.  Daichi was never going to be on the run.  He was going to be in jail for two murders.  Oikawa fucking Tooru and his goddamn best friend Iwaizumi fucking Hajime.  He did he best to convey this to Iwaizumi with glares and subtle facial movements and hand gestures.  Iwaizumi didn’t seem to be very concerned by this.

Daichi looked back in time to watch Tanaka slowly drag his gaze up from the lip balm in his hand to Daichi, eyes lingering for just a moment on Daichi’s lips.

“Tanaka I swear if you-”  Tanaka held the tube out and grinned at him.  “No.”

“Daichi?”

“No,” Daichi bit out.

“Please?”

And at that moment Daichi knew, knew without a shadow of a doubt, that he was irrevocably wrapped around Tanaka’s finger and would be the rest of his life.  Tanaka was giving him that stupid adorable face with the expectant eyes and tiny pout and asking him politely and, really, how was he supposed to say no to that again?

Daichi stood and plucked the tube from Tanaka’s hand.  He had to stand practically between Tanaka’s legs and lean to the side so he could use the mirror to apply the lip balm and when he used the pad of his thumb to swipe just under his lip to clear the little bit of excess there he was surprised to see the slight tremor of excitement run through his hand.  The balm is one he didn’t use often.  It’s too glittery and pink and shiny to wear anywhere but out to a club and he and Oikawa, to some people’s surprise, don’t actually go out that often.

The urge to lick his lips is strong, especially when he pulled back from the mirror and met Tanaka’s gaze.

“Holy fuck,” Tanaka whispered, breath ghosting across Daichi’s cheek.  “I think I need to kiss you.”

“I think that’s a good idea,” Daichi replied.  He barely got the words out before Tanaka’s hands were cupping his cheeks and drawing him in the last few inches.

It wasn’t necessarily better than his dreams - he never imagined his first kiss with Tanaka would be while they were locked in his bathroom after all - but holy fuck it was real and that was the important thing.  It was real and Tanaka’s fingers were trembling against his skin and Tanaka’s shirt was rough under Daichi’s fingers and Iwaizumi made an interested noise from the bathtub and Daichi had to pull away because he had forgotten about Iwaizumi for a moment.  He was torn as he pulled away.  He wanted to keep kissing Tanaka, keep losing himself in that warmth.  But he also wanted Iwaizumi in on it too.

He leaned to the side and glanced over his shoulder to meet Iwaizumi’s eyes as he scrambled out of the tub.

“You two can’t just do that and look that good together and look at me like that,” Iwaizumi warned.

“Oh yeah?”  Daichi couldn’t help but ask and he turned around and felt Tanaka’s arms wrap around his waist.

“What’re you gonna do about it?”  Tanaka challenged and hooked his chin over Daichi’s shoulder.

Iwaizumi’s kiss, Daichi soon found out, was just as wonderful and just as real as Tanaka’s had been and the only regret he had was that it took so long to find out.  And the fact he forgot how loudly Oikawa could screech when he was victorious about something but that was mostly because he almost bit Tanaka’s tongue and Iwaizumi did bite his neck hard enough to break the skin at the panicked seagull level of screech Oikawa let out.  Other than that he had to admit, at least to himself, that getting locked in his own bathroom turned out much better than he ever expected it to.
