Genshin AU ideas that have been living in my head but currently don't have enough sustenance for me to consider writing stories for

Fatui Fledgling AU

This AU idea is based on a fic I read "Strings Attached" by VeePASTA (Viewer discretion to all who plan to read it, it's NSFW)

Similar to what happens in the story (minus all the sex cuz I ain't about that life), in this AU, instead of the Fledgling dying (Idk if I want to call him Tori or Hinadori yet), he survives when Kabukimono and Dottore cross paths and Kabuki decides to essentially sell himself to Dottore for the price of the Fledgling's survival.

To pull that feat off, Dottore replaces the Fledgling's infected organs with artificial innards made after studying Kabuki, essentially turning the Fledgling into a long-living cyborg puppet. As per his and Kabuki's agreement, Dottore lets the Fledgling go after a few experiments, but the Fledgling decides to remain as Dottore's assistant to stay close to Kabuki.

For the next 500 years, Kabuki remains Dottore's favourite experiment and prisoner and never becomes a harbinger, and while I don't think the Fledgling would ever become a harbinger himself, I do like to imagine that he grows up with a cold disposition that slightly resembles canon balladeer's if you take away the god-complex.

Although he's Dottore's assistant, if given the chance, he wouldn't hesitate to brutally murder the man (for reasonable reasons) and bust himself and Kabuki out of there. I like to imagine that this determination allows the Fledgling to receive a vision (probably an Electro based on an explanation interpretation I saw in a video) and that his skills would have something to do with dolls :))

I just think it would be super interesting to see the Fledgling in a similar role to canon Balladeer and how that would change the story :uu

I'm still contemplating if the Fledgling should be successful in his goal of saving Kabuki, or if I should kill Kabuki off for character development.

Collei runs away from the Fatui with Kunikuzushi's decapitated head AU

This AU's inspired by two fics: "I'll get you home" by jammincat and "Two Flowers to Trick the Children" by zephyrai

Long story short, in this AU, Scaramouche/Kunikuzushi/Whatever else he's named lol helps Collei escape the Fatui. I haven't decided yet if he's still a harbinger in the AU and just got close to Collei the same way he does in TFTTTC, or if he's just a fellow test subject who just knows more due to how long he's been with the Fatui.

Either way, he helps her escape but then Dottore effing shows up and effing d e c a p i t a t e s Scara to which Collei grabs his head due to "Not my best/closest/only friend!" emotions and runs away, somehow successfully escaping Dottore).

In this AU, I imagine Scara working a lot like the gems from Houseki no Kuni where he kind of goes unconscious when he loses too many pieces of himself (or, y'know, loses his head) but is perfectly fine after you put the pieces back together, but as far as anyone in Mondstadt was concerned, Collei is essentially carrying around a dead person's head lol

Tho I do also imagine that maybe Scara's head is still able to have thoughts and that somehow, Collei is able to telepathically read those thoughts. So not only was she the traumatized kid who carried around her dead friend's head, but she was the traumatized kid who was so traumatized that as far as the Mondstatders were aware, she would talk to her dead friend's head and treat it like it's not a decapitated limb.

Maybe whenever Scara's head is around electro crystals, he's able to communicate using an Ouiji board or something, so now people don't think she's crazy anymore when they see him "talk" but they do freak out because "IS THAT GHOSTLY ACTIVITY???"

I just think it would be interesting to see an AU where Collei has Scara's decapitated head around. I'd enjoy seeing a segment where the traveller needs info on Dottore and Cyno's like: "I know a guy, who knows a gal, who knows another guy who could help you out" and they just expect to see another forest ranger when SURPRISE MOTHERFUDGER- it's a decapitated head!

Either way, in this AU, I can imagine that one of the conditions Nahida makes in her deal with Dottore is for him to return Scara's body. Now, although his body is not conscious, Dottore can still use it for some experiments, so he's not to keen on accepting the deal until an audible crack can be heard from the gnosis' in Nahida's grasp lol.

Fatui Fledgling and CRAFTFWKDH mashup AU

I ended up having another thought: "What if I mashed up these two AU ideas together?"

The fledgling is Dottore's assistant who smuggles things from the outside for his big brother: books, treats, small toys, and supplies to make stuffed dolls, and Kabuki, who sympathizes with the young girl in the cell next to his, reads his books to her, gives her his treats and toys, makes her a doll, and eventually convinces the Fledgling to aid him to help Collei escape.

Just like in the CRAFTFWKDH AU, this doesn't go too well and Kabuki gets his head and arm decapitated, to which the Fledgling snags his head, Collei grabs his arm, and Dottore retrieves the rest of his body.

I don't know what the two's relationship in this AU should be like yet, but I imagine that initially, Collei hates the Fledgling and the Fledgling doesn't really care about her, but as the only members of the "Kabukimono's Younger Siblings" club, they probably learn to tolerate each other after his decapitation... kinda like real siblings lol.

After that ordeal tho, I'd imagine that the Fledgling probably just drops Collei off at Mondstadt and goes off to do other things I don't know yet (probably not go back to the Fatui, unless he plans on retrieving the rest of Kabuki's body on his own or smth). The two are still able to communicate thanks to the body parts they retrieved from Kabuki's dismemberment.

I don't really have much else for this AU, but the Fledgling would probably also show up in the Sumeru arc.

lol tmnt fic spoilers

this is exactly why it's important to finish the first draft before you start posting anything b/c i had an idea for a scene to cap off one of the whole big arcs & also naturally lay down the foundations for some extremely-needed worldbuilding/foreshadowing but if i do go through it i'm gonna need to tweak some of the very early chapters to establish that, since it's kind of the thing that should me at least mentioned offhand before it shows up in a plot-relevant fashion x chapters later.

(what if the met had a piece of the occult dark armor. what then. that would be very funny. & it'd finally give me a chance to outline the kuroi yoroi's position in actual world history & what people other than crazy ninja think about it.

also i shuffled around usagi's role and now i'm itching to write a scene where he's an exhausted long-suffering samurai cop constantly cursing mikey & donny's names. a lot of these revisions are really just based on how funny i think they are, which, i mean, i guess it's been working so far. who knows if i'll stick with that.

but also you know maybe be a good point to underscore the whole 'new york city is a semi-independent city-state in this au' since as it turns out the nature of just what "federal authority" is ends up being kind of important. but these things should probably be peppered more solidly through the earlier chapters so they're, you know, in play. narratively speaking. aaah.

tho tbh since i'm not really going to go into detail about what the continental us even looks like in the fic for a whole variety of reasons i worry a little that that worldbuilding would just gonna be confusing and distracting. there's currently one extremely disorienting mention of the mayan city-states never dispersing just completely apropos of nothing, tho of course it's not even said in so many words. surprise it's not mexico city it's still tenochtitlan! this is never going to come up again! anyway.)

(uh the yokai world capital being established like c. 600bc under manhattan and then also having a spaceship full of aliens crash land on top of it c. 1440ad caused european contact with the americas to go very differently. but uh that's a little fraught to go into detail about, so, i'm not going to.)

like as the story solidly enters the middle bit i'm a little concerned about the classic novel problem of like... you have a beginning and an end and no real middle. or a middle that can't sustain the transition or maintain momentum or w/e else. like, i have like the entire ending written already (cannot wait to get to chapter 18 and then just be able to post it all on a regular schedule. not that what i have marked as 'chapter 19' will necessarily end up being the actual chapter 19, but, you know...) but i'm getting a littleeeeee worried about being able to stitch that onto whatever i end up writing for the middle. whoops.

Izuku is avoiding Shouta after a seemingly harmless injury that he didn’t get looked at turned out to be sm worse (let’s say is losing his hearing or voice or even feeling in his limbs? Either Izuku knows sign or he’s learning or going to physical therapy). Shouta finds out and is devastated but supportive, Izuku apologises for pushing Shouta away and they work on it from there (- this one was a bit iffy trying to communicate how I saw this in my brain)

Or if u aren’t planning on putting it in Say You Want Me then could we possible see how the underground heroes treat NiteLite based on ch. 19?

Or could we see how people react to Izuku sparring/getting angry?

And if ur doing a reg prompt - sunshine character a + feral character b meet perpetually angry character c whilst fighting - snarky banter, misunderstanding is fixed (character a, b or c could unknowingly be on wrong side) and they take down the evil foe together -

Or character a and b whom people didn’t even consider to get together and did and somehow it just works? Like they feel right and no one bats an eye. Their friends are protective of the relationship, barring people away that consider confessing to either one of the couple bc that’s out of the question lmaoo

(This one makes me laugh so I thought I would share) - character a doesn’t realise how they come across until it gets pointed out to them in an offhand comment, are quick to deny it but are then given multiple examples which makes them rethink every interaction. Character a then decides to use it to be a menace to society.

Or character a has a crush and is v good at hiding it by literally hiding - technically hiding from everyone until they get confronted and there’s a confession but not from character a tho! Character a decides that this can’t possibly be real and chooses to run only for said crush to go after them. Yelling ensues until character a is tackled and they have the Star Wars roll in the grass moment then kiss w character a finally understanding that their feelings are reciprocated

Every day is Q&A time with me! Seriously, I'm always totally happy to answer any questions anyone has! I'm still in the AiDeku trash fire currently, so my next fic will probably also be AiDeku. I have a few half formed plots floating around, but I might fiddle with a prompt I answered last time I did prompts-I like the idea of Vampire Aizawa finding the very human (or is he?) Izuku fascinating. Hm, so if I were creating a poly relationship with MHA characters I'm torn between Todoroki/Shinsou/Izuku or the very fun idea I saw...somewhere of Shouta/Izuku/Oboro. I think it might have been on Rayshippouuchiha's blog, but don't quote me on that. We actually are going to see the reactions to Nite-Lite heavy handed manipulation attempt in Say You Want Me. I love literally all of these prompts, by the way! I'm always down for Aideku prompts.

Izuku knew exactly what was going on even before he went to the Doctor to confirm it.  Hearing loss.  Kacchan had enjoyed detonating his explosions around Izuku’s face during elementary and middle school.  Izuku had gone the apprenticeship route after middle school, but the damage had already been done.  He’d had a small amount of hearing loss that was found at that point, but nothing like he’d noticed recently.  

He’d been hiding it from Shouta.  He knew he shouldn’t, but Shouta didn’t like Kacchan at the best of times, but hearing that Kacchan had permanently damaged Izuku’s hearing would absolutely be the straw that broke the camel’s back.  “Thank you Doctor,” Izuku murmured after too long of a silence, the Doctor looking at him in concern. 

“Of course,” Doctor Aiko said, her voice equally soft.  “And…there are good hearing aids now, one’s that you can’t even tell are there unless you already know they are.  This doesn’t have to be…”  She trailed off.

Izuku offered her a wan smile.  “Thank you,” he repeated as he stood up.  “I’ll reach out when I’ve made a decision.”

“Of course.  There’s literature the receptionist can provide as well, to help you narrow down your options.”

Izuku couldn’t speak any further, so he just offered a small smile and nod before walking out of the room.  

He was surprised when, a few days later, Shouta sat them down.  “I don’t know what’s going on,” Shouta said quietly, “But if you’re going to break up with me I’d prefer you just go ahead and do it.”

Completely baffled, Izuku just stared at him.  “I-what?”  

The tense set of Shouta’s shoulders relaxed slightly, but his eyes stayed focused on Izuku.  “You’ve been pulling away from me recently, ignoring me when I’m talking to you and not talking to me about…anything, really.  You’ve been spending so much time gone recently it’s a miracle we’ve managed to see each other at all,” he pointed out. 

Izuku sat back and rubbed his hands over his face.  “Shit,” he muttered into his hands before dropping them and looking up.  “I’m sorry, I’ve been…processing some bad news.”

“What?”  Shouta asked, worry overtaking his expression.

“I-”  Izuku swallowed and started again.  “I have substantial hearing loss,” he told Shouta.  “I had some minor hearing loss when I was a child, but it’s degenerated…rapidly.  I need hearing aids, pretty much immediately.”

“Oh,” Shouta said softly.  “You haven’t been ignoring me, you haven’t been able to hear me.”

Izuku saw his guilt and immediately shook his head.  “I should have let you know what was going on-it was careless of me to not mention it when I knew I was having trouble hearing.  And I know I’ve been gone a lot.  I’ve had a lot of Doctor appointments to try and figure out the best fit for me when it comes to hearing aids.”

Shouta reached out and clasped Izuku’s hand gently.  “I’d like to come with you to the next one, if that’s ok.”

Izuku offered a small, slightly tremulous smile.  “I’d like that.”

I sort of fluctuate when it comes to being an introvert/extroverted. W// strangers and irl, I'm very introverted and shy!! Rarely speak and if I do it's just the usual "Hi how are you? That's good. I'm good too, thank you for asking:)" yeayea I'm not too. Keen on social interaction irl. But I always do my best to be very nice!! I also find that I tend to talk a whole lot when I have an idea or smthn to say abt a thing I'm super interested in!! That's info-dumping. I info dump. Yes. I also really like to listen to other people talk abt things they like!!!! Its so nice :) I'm protective over people I care about!! I've never done it but 100% would bark at someone who messed with someone close to be. Arf arf yaknow. I tend to he impulsive. I'll do something, and be all "YEAH>:D" and then regret it later. And then I'll do it all over again in a fun little cycle :) I consider myself an optimist, but quickly turn into a pessimist whenever it concerns myself. Fun funfun. I like art!! Quite a bit!! Less of a realistic artist and more of a cartoonist!! Idk there's just something fun abt drawing cartoons, hehe. I also like self ships - I have quite a bit of them, actually ! Idk its comforting drawings your fictional crushes loving you idkidk. I like writing too! Both original stories, and one-shots or personal fics that are associated with already created media!! Writing character backstories and personalities and stuff is also fun too! I've even made my own fictional world with a full fledged backstory n everything! It's very fun to think about. I'm a day dreamer!!! Yea remember when I said I write stories? I day dream abt potential stories even more. Mmm daydream world so nice so warm so fun I read aswell!! Mostly fantasy books, or stories where animals are the protagonists. Think Warrior Cats. But my favorite book series has got to be Guardians of Ga'Hoole. Fantasy owl books, anyway! X Readers are also things I enjoy reading :) Again, s I m p Also gaming!!! Is something fun I do sometimes!!! Although it's usually Genshin Impact, or Wii Sports/Resort w// my little sister. Oh, also pokemon! I rlly like Primarina, Vaporeon, Sylveon and Vulpix/Ninetails! I absolutely adore sweet foods, and baking is smthn I'm def interested in! Don't like foods w// weird textures though, like beans or mashed potatoes. Also I. Love spice so much. Mmm love it when my mouth burns so bad. Don't have a favorite animal but I've had three cats in my lifetime (btw not important but my current cat is named Sylvester and. He's my baby boy) so I am.
