it's the silence he hates the most .

it's ironic , he supposes . philza has spent an eternity being alone , save for the few companions he's met and lost . this new family he gained a year ago shouldn't make things any different .

yet , it has .

now , when he wakes up , he seeks out the soft rustling and scampering as chayanne plays another round of hide and seek .

now , when he wakes up , he expects to hear the rattling of maracas as llulah impatiently hovers above him , waiting for him to awaken .

as they go about their day , philza is constantly surrounded by sounds .

crows cawing .

hummingbirds chirping .

leaves rustling .

doors opening .

but now . as he lays in bed , alone .

it's so quiet .

it's too quiet .

philza wants to close his eyes and pretend that everything is okay , but it's terrifying .

knowing that when he opens his eyes , it'll be to a world of silence .

it's ironic , how he comforted them as they said their goodbyes , when he's the one who can't let go .

how can he , when he promised that they wouldn't be apart again ?

i think alex replacing logan for the weekend is a bad decision on many levels, but i cannot help but think that logan not being allowed to race might be the final nail in his coffin for his career. not because he's struggled but because of the knock to his confidence.

and this isn't an isolated concept - we saw it with checo in 2023! he had the potential to be in the standings for the championship at first, but then max beat him continuously. and he got worse, because he couldn't match! because his confidence was knocked! and when he was confirmed to be driving, when he would do well, we saw an improvement as he regained his confidence!

formula 1 is such a competitive environment. and when you're logan sargeant who found last year hard and have gained so much confidence at the start of this year, it's easy to lose

add in the fact that no other team would shove aside a driver like this. that it's the third race and although points are important, you have time. add in the fact that williams is not near being the worst car on the grid (*cough* alpine *cough*)

of course you're going to lose confidence. of course this will affect your driving.

tl;dr i think this will end logan's career, as much as i hope it doesn't

Our beautiful friend Dougie was diagnosed with an osteosarcoma last week. Doug is not a candidate for amputation, so he is in palliative care - and will likely not see Christmas. We through him a puppy party with good music, cold drinks, 5 kids, and 13 dogs. It was such a fun celebration of life, and he will leave us with so many happy memories.
