È possibile ricreare una vera e propria oasi in città? Beh a quanto pare si, in Penisola Sorrentina il WWF ha realizzato un progetto ambizioso che si spera venga copiato ovunque sia possibile far rinascere la natura in città. Si tratta di un parco realizzato su una superficie di 4000 mq, è diviso in aree tematiche e ha lo scopo di far conoscere la fauna e la flora del nostro territorio affinché le erbe spontanee non siano considerate “erbacce” e gli animaletti dei “parassiti”. Sono sicuro che tutti coloro che possono raggiungere la Costiera Sorrentina in poco tempo organizzeranno presto una visita al parco 😉 Personalmente appena ho scoperto l’Oasi ho subito organizzato la visita e devo dire che ci sono aree davvero belle, come il bio-lago in foto. ⁣ Canon EOS 250D | 50mm | 1/25s | f/5.6 | ISO 200 {Photo 1}⁣ Canon EOS 250D | 50mm | 1/4s | f/6.3 | ISO 200 {Photo 2}⁣ Both taken on 10/10/2020.⁣ ⁣ It's a mission and a half to arrive at Umbria, the 'Green Heart of Italy', but whenever I'm there I feel so glad to have made the long trip for a well-deserved weekend break.⁣ ⁣ Umbria is a lush land of hilltop towns that are incredibly beautiful at any time of year. Whether it's the stunning cathedrals, striking bell towers or the silent stone streets, any visitor will be enchanted by the artistic and historical heritage that this part of Italy is so rich in.⁣ ⁣ Bevagna is located in the very heart of Umbria and has a strongly medieval character which I attempted to capture in these photographs shortly before sunrise (yes, very early indeed!). In these shots, I intended to draw particular attention to the lit street lanterns flanked either side by the mighty medieval walls, as if the street was waking up to a new day of bliss. ⁣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣ ⁣ Take a Regional train from Rome, Florence or Ancona to Foligno. Then take the E411 bus from outside the railway station to Bevagna. But it's a beautiful cycling route that runs from San Lorenzo al Mare all the way to Ospedaletti, passing through swanky seaside resorts like Arma di Taggia and San Remo.⁣ ⁣ Along the way you'll come across secluded beaches like this one, not even a kilometre from San Lorenzo al Mare. ⁣ ⁣ Imagine spending a quiet day by the sea there!⁣ ⁣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣ ⁣ The best way to arrive at San Lorenzo al Mare is to take the train from Genoa or Savona to Sanremo. ⁣ Samsung Galaxy Note 10+⁣ All taken on 18/12/2021.⁣ ⁣ One of Molise’s hidden treasures, the Roman ruins of Saepinum – known as Altilia since the Medieval period – are among the best preserved and least visited in the country.⁣ ⁣ Unlike Pompeii and Ostia Antica, which were both major ports, Saepinum was a small provincial town of no great importance.⁣ ⁣ It was originally established by the Samnites but the Romans conquered it in 293 BC, paving the way for an economic boom in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.⁣ ⁣ The walled town retains three of its four original gates and its two main roads: the 'cardo maximus' and the 'decamanus'. ⁣ Canon EOS 250D | 18mm | 1/1000s | f/8 | ISO 100⁣ Taken on 02/06/2021.⁣ ⁣ Palazzo Archinto is one of the most important and ambitious buildings on the Navigli canal.⁣ ⁣ Known as 'il Castello' (the Castle) for the two towers that can be seen on the only remaining wing, Palazzo Archinto was in fact supposed to be a complex with a hooked H-shaped plan with four courtyards arranged around it, but the project never came to fruition.⁣ ⁣ Nevertheless, this palace is a regular venue for weddings and ceremonies, thanks in part to its privileged position along the canal.⁣ ⁣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣ ⁣ To get to Robecco sul Naviglio, first take a train from Milano Porta Genova station to Abbiategrasso. ⁣ Samsung Galaxy Note 10+⁣ Taken on 01/04/2021.⁣ ⁣ Located about 50 kilometres east of Turin and around 25 kilometres northwest of Alessandria is the small hilly village of Cella Monte, which joined the club "Italy's most beautiful villages" in 2018.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ It was by pure chance that I got to visit Cella Monte in June last year because it was where one of my adult classes decided to have a meal to celebrate the end of the school year. Almost two years on and the village is just as beautiful as it was in spite of the endless empty streets.⁣ ⁣ I'm delighted at how I managed to capture the 'Pietra da Cantoni' (Cantoni stone) omnipresent in the streets. It's a unique type of stone found in the Monferrato area but more so in Cella Monte.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ I love how the colour highlights the urban fabric of the village and fits so well with medieval setting, complementing landmarks such as the castle, whose tower you can make out in the background and which has functioned as a manor house since the 17th century; the parish church of 'San Quirico e Giuditta', built in 1610; and the palaces and garden villas connected by scenic routes.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Cella Monte is also home to the 'infernot', meaning 'tiny place' and in the Piedmontese dialect 'little hell'—basically narrow, underground rooms hand-carved into the stone that are used to store wine.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣⁣ ⁣ You can head down and see one for yourself by taking a bus from Alessandria to Cella Monte with 'Arfea'.
