*opens trench coat* oh boy do I ever. I can so hook you up. What kind of fics do you like? Smutty fics? Fluffy fics? I can’t help you out too much on the fluff. But I’ve got smutty fics for sure. Funny fics. Angsty fics. A couple of non-con fics. The fic that actually started me shipping them was completely not about them, they were just a side pairing in an all-women free-for-all type of orgy. So hot though. 

There aren’t a fuckton of stories about them on AO3, so I recommend starting there. Kink meme is good too, but a couple are just... not finished??? right in the middle??? So a good choice, but read at your own risk. Also, I will consider any and all fic requests. :)

This mentality lies at the heart of “the problem.” The cheapening of the Great Work. That strange tilting feeling that I got, like a ship suddenly lurching under me, when at the end of Avengers, as that great reveal has Thanos face stretching a smile across the screen, the group of contemporaries next to me, adorned in their regal, Marvel vestments, and having been talking about all the newly popularized characters throughout the entire pre-show, extolling their “decades old love” of Avengers and x-men, turns to me and asks “oh my god, is that punisher?!” To which I reply “No, that’s Thanos.” “Oh, who? Wait, you mean Red Skull?” Now I think it's great you dressed up and want to talk about how devout you are, seriously; I did that for a long time. But just because I'm in plain clothes, don't assault me with fandom. "You have no idea how much I love avengers!" Really? I have some idea. I love them enough to have bought boxes of comics as a child with my precious little money. To have watched hours of cartoons and owned trading card profiles of all of them. Are you sure it's the avengers you love and not Robert Downy Jr? Because if it is him and that amazing cast of actors, that's okay! And even if you want to drape yourself in geekdom that's also great, but let's not start assaulting others when you haven't really stocked up on ammo yet. Sure, civilians you'll crush, but I'm the guys that notices the fact that all your banter about the Marvel universe can all be sourced 100% back to the movies made in the last decade. I don’t mind people piggybacking another culture, in fact it helps them to understand why we love the things we love. In fact, I don't read many comics these days, so in a way I piggyback on a part of my ken identity but asking my friend Sean to keep me caught up. But. If you're going to do that, either make an effort, like a phrase in the native tongue when you travel, or you should understand that we’re going to get testy when you mislabel shit like a green lantern t-shirt, or drag into stark reality the fact that so many of these new pilgrims, who claim to love these stories and these characters and be true converts to nerdom, have zero knowledge of the source material. It’s like when the red wedding exploded across the internet after broadcast. THAT WAS NOT BRAVE NEW TELEVISION. That happened ten years ago. What these great comic book sourced movies and series based on decades old novels should distill in you is a hunger for the knowledge you’ve been missing between pages all these years; these stories and these things you now love have been around forever. You just didn’t read back then. Or maybe you didn’t give it a proper chance, or maybe you just decided it was for nerds before Chris Helmsworth had to go on a diet and get ripped for it, or Scarlet Johansson squeezed her amazing body into a tight, black suited getup. This isn’t geek shaming I swear, I love that people are being newly exposed to the things we love, and I realize that I’m ranting and sliding into the generalized and unfair, so I’ll just end with with this: welcome to our culture, please treat it with a modicum of respect, and try not to take it personally when we get snarky and remind you that the Green Lantern Corps is a three billion year old paramilitary organization tasked with protecting the galaxy, and that symbol is their righteous standard, so we’re going to identify with that, and not “the shirt that Sheldon wears.” (Or whoever wears that one, maybe they all do?)
