Your mom swirled the glass in her hand as she laughed with a coworker. She had hosted a dinner party, for all her work friends, and you were hating everything about your life right now.

You internally groaned when one of her coworkers turned to you and began to talk.

“So, uh, y/n, who are you planning on going to midsummers with?” One of them said, flashing a smile at you from across the table.

For some angst with Nico and Lexi

She is at home with the girls, and has been struggling a bit, just feeling like a zombie of a human looking after the girls while Nico is on a roadie.

She sees a video captured by a fan of Nico hugging a girl and handing her a piece of paper. She, along with the rest of the internet thinks he is giving his number to strange girls and she spirals. Thinking she isn't enough for him and ignores all his attempts to contact her after the game.

He flys home that night rather than in the morning with the team. Turns out it was a teammates cousin who was recently engaged, she admired Nico's wedding band and asked for the name and number of the jeweler. He's hurt she was so quick to think he could be unfaithful to her. Leading to a lot of tears as she explains how she's feeling lately.

She is woken up to see a child free spa day awaits her

The morning after the game, Lexi's stomach still twists uncomfortable. Lucie is munching on her cereal in front of the TV while Mack picks at her Cherrios lazily in her high chair. As Lexi is finishing up her smoothie, Nico appears at the bottom of the stairs.

"Mmm, my beautiful Hischier girls are all awake!" Nico exclaims, coming over to drop a kiss on Lucie's head first. Lexi feels her eyes begin to tear. She turns her back to her husband, but can sense him get closer to say hi to Mackenzie as well.

"And the most beautiful baby of mine..." He trails off, hesitantly reaching out for Lexi. He isn't sure what to expect from her after their weird night. Lexi has never ignored him after a game. When he got home, he originally thought she had just fallen asleep, but she never goes to grab the girls without kissing him first. Except this morning. When Nico tries to wrap his arms around her waist, she flinches and moves away. Nico frowns, feeling hurt.

"What did I do?" He asks her. Lexi shakes her head, not wanting to get into it in front of the girls.

Nico plays along with this for awhile, too long in his opinion, but when it is time for the girls to nap, he immediately hunts his wife down in the living room where she cleans up toys. He jumps in to help her.

"Can you please talk to me?"

"Why? You have other women you can call." Lexi says calmly. Nico squints, confused.

"What?"

"Like the girl you gave your number to last night." Nico stops picking up dolls from off the floor. He stands to his full height, tilting his head as he watches her continue to clean.

"Babe, what are you talking about?"

"I saw the pictures last night on Instagram! You hugging some fan and giving her a piece of paper. What the hell, Nico! How could you!?"

"Oh, that?" He asks, starting to laugh. "Babe, I was congratulating her on her engagement. She said she liked my wedding band and asked where she could buy it because she thought her fiancé would like it for his ring." Nico tosses the last doll into its bin, then stuffs the fabric box back into its holder. Lexi stares at him, biting her lip. She continues to stand there, a stuffed panda hanging limply in her left hand.

"Oh." She finally says. Nico sighs, running a hand through his hair to push it out of his face.

"You think I would do that to you?" He whispers, eyes turning sad and wide. Lexi stops throwing pillows back on the couch, hearing the pain in his voice.

It all hits Lexi at once. She puts a hand over her stomach and mouth, feeling both places clench uncomfortably at what just transpired between her and her husband. How could she think that? Maybe because it's been weeks since Nico has really touched her. Yes, he has hugged her and held her hand. But it's been weeks since needy desire has made his hands shake against her skin. Sure she turned him down a few times, but she's in a weird place with her body. But then he stopped trying all together. Now, she can't help but think that he is bored of her. Bored of their life and longing for something different.

But then those same hands she yearns for wrap around her waist, pulling her into a warm, solid chest.

"I'm feeling disconnected from you. Like you don't want to touch me or hang out with me and.. how would I live without you?" She sobs into his chest.

"Whoa, babe." He sits down on the couch, pulling her into his lap. "Living without each other? Never. Me not wanting to hang out with you? Also never. I just tried to touch you in the kitchen and you moved away. You've been doing that a lot." Lexi closes her eyes in shame.

"I hate my body right now."

He strokes her hair back from her wet cheeks. "And there is no one else, Lex. Never will be. Ever. Would never do that to our family."

"I know. I'm so sorry." She covers her face with her hands. Nico tilts them back, laying down on the couch, spooning his wife quietly. He strokes her arms, keeping her locked against his chest until she relaxes into his body. "I love you." She whispers to him.

oh BOY do i have things to say about human!Laughingstock! im so unwell about them allow me to talk and talk and talk and ta-

so in this au they're like... the ultimate slowburn. their feelings for each other slowly simmer and grow over the course of *checks nonexistent watch* a lil over a decade i think. it's not very dramatic - just soft & silly w/ just a heap of pining and a pinch of angst for Flavor

it starts when they were teens - Howdy had a lil crush on Barnaby in middle school. and how could he not? Barnaby was cute, hilarious, and kind. at this point, they weren't friends! Barnaby knew Howdy's name, but only because they'd shared a school since elementary (as with 6/7 of the other neighbors) & speaking from experience, you just Know Those Names. Howdy slowly "grew out of" this crush, especially when the friend group started forming and he & Barnaby became actual friends.

that crush would fluctuate over the years. It starts out strong and then softens into just this hum in the back of Howdy's mind. always there, often easy to ignore, just... part of him, in a way.

Barnaby has a similar experience. when he and Howdy became friends, he got a lil crush - how could he not? Howdy was cute, laughed at all of his jokes and had a few of his own, and was endearingly eccentric. but at the time, Barnaby didn't recognize the crush for what it was. so he elected to ignore it until the crush dwindled to something easily manageable, something he wouldn't realize is still there. as with Howdy's, it'd never fully go away

and its noticeable enough to their friends that they'd all kinda side-eye how touchy Howdy & Barnaby are with each other (Barnaby is a physical guy, but damn. if Howdy is nearby they Will find a way to be touching at all times), the way they always laugh at each others jokes, the way they always ask "where's [x] / is [x] coming with" whenever the other is absent. but the group couldn't be sure if they were looking into it or not. it's too subtle. over time they get so used to it that they don't bat an eye - Howdy is Barnaby's best friend after Wally. of course they're close!

but then there's this one college party Howdy drags Barnaby to (and by extension, Wally). they're drunk off their asses, Wally's edible has kicked in, the party is pretty chill and everyone is having a decent time. all three of them are on the couch, and Barnaby and Howdy start drunk-complimenting each other. naturally, this feeds their mutual attraction, and one thing leads to another! they make out on the couch. naturally with Wally sandwiched between them, snacking on chips and committing the moment to memory (it's a surprise tool that'll help them later!) neither Barnaby nor Howdy will remember this

now, something i'd like to state for Barnaby in this au! he has had a lot of relationships - from one night stands to actually dating someone for months. sometimes the one night stands were a "he takes someone home after a date, & they leave while he's sleeping and ghost him" situation. with actual dating, the other person always breaks things off after a few weeks, if not days. it breaks Barnaby's heart a little bit every time. to the point where in his mid-20s, he just... stops dating. he avoids other people's advancements towards him, he always takes a friend with him to bars/etc as a buffer, he becomes an expert at gracefully turning people down

("why, pray tell" no one asks "do they always leave him? he's such a catch!" that he is! when he was in school, it was his friend group. he'd try to introduce his 'girlfriend' to his friends, and it'd be an immediate "eugh, you're friends with those freaks? no way!" as an adult, people found it off-putting how (by societal standards) unusually close he was with Wally. also, again, a "weird" friend group. they'd think it's too much, or just not their scene, or 'why don't you date your little blue haired boyfriend', etc. Barnaby never holds it against Wally or his friends. he has the mindset of if that person was the one, they would accept every part of Barnaby - and his friends are indeed part of him. Howdy has also dated around a little, but to a much lesser extent. he's too busy! he doesn't have time for that!)

but the ball really starts rolling in their late 20s. something the group does together - as a fun lil rare hobby - is LARPing. they get really into it! Sally made them all custom costumes, Julie helped make the weapons (like a giant sword for herself), etc etc. they fully commit to the bit (even Frank <3). so at this event's point in the timeline, Eddie is fully integrated into the clique, but that's unimportant - just to show where we are!

so they're all doing their thing, it's a pretty big LARP event - there's always way more people than our dear neighbors, yk. they're just part of the crowd! & there's a big battle hosted, the group is split between teams, but Barnaby & Howdy are on the same side! yay! during the battle, Barnaby is "mortally wounded." Howdy half-drags him away from the main battle under the cover of their teammates (including Eddie and Julie) and sits him down by the tree. now, Howdy & Barnaby are the ones who get into the roleplay the most. they get lost in the sauce! they perform the hell out of everything they do!

& since Barnaby is "dying", he really acts like it. Howdy acts accordingly, but again, they get a little too emotional, a little too into it, a little lost in the sauce. genuine tears are in their eyes, Howdy's voice is genuinely shaking a little as he holds Barnaby in his "dying moments" (Barnaby is holding the sword between his arm and his side. he has ketchup on his armor.) Eddie and Julie are getting choked up just watching this happen. and as Howdy & Barnaby look into each others' tear-filled eyes, those little feelings that have been so quiet for so long come right back babey! full force! but then they all get hit with "arrows" and have to die right there and then, and the moments over. but! both Barnaby & Howdy walk away from this LARP session grappling with Partially Realized Feelings.

Barnaby struggles with this the most, since yk at this point he's sworn off dating. he's being careful with his heart! but when he tells Wally all of this, cause he tells Wally everything, Wally's like "oh. yes, i know! remember that one college party where you two kissed for an hour". and then he goes on to point out every instance where he's thought "right, Howdy and Barnaby are in love" (bc Wally is way more observant than he lets on! he saw that shit! his peepers were peepin!)

BUT IT'S STILL A SLOW BURN BABEY!

Barnaby and Howdy don't approach each other about this. they're both in the boat of "well, i'll just keep going and see what happens" to the point where they're practically dating without ever saying anything to each other. Howdy notices how Barnaby lingers around the store more. Barnaby notices how Howdy keeps turning up at his work to talk more. (they already chat so much...) but they still! dont! say! anything! but they both Know! they're not emotionally circling each other they are Dancing to their Own Music!

and Barnaby is letting himself believe that this can work because, well... Howdy already accepts him as he is. Howdy is part of the group. Howdy loves Wally just like the rest of em. Howdy has seen Barnaby at his (presumed) worst and didn't even flinch! as for Howdy, well, he just thinks this is right! his whole life no one has really caught his eyes or heart, but Barnaby is different. he's always been in Howdy's peripherals. it feels natural to love him so deeply. Barnaby slots into his life like the final piece of a puzzle!

there's a lot of stuff that happens in this inbetween state - Howdy's store burns down & almost takes him with it, there's some family drama that needs to be handled, The Crash happens, etc etc etc - so it's a while before they "actually" get together. but they're both patient! they've waited this long, even if they didn't know they were waiting. neither of them are in a rush. they're young. they have time.

Pierre didn't think he had ever felt comfier in his entire life than right now with Lando Norris tucked into his arms.

The alpha was rumbling softly. His warm around Pierre’s waist, and his nose tucked into Pierre’s neck as Pierre carded gentle fingers through his thick curls. He gently worked out a few knots, making his own soft noise back at Lando and radiating happiness at having the man he had been courting in his arms like this.

Pierre was honestly still in awe that Lando had said yes to an omega courting him.

He knew what others said about. He knew that no one looked at him and ever thought of him as an omega. He was too confident snd aggressive. He was too flirty and outgoing. His time wasn't spent building nests and he had never been one to automatically award an alpha respect just because of his status. People often blamed his rough play fighting on the fact he had alpha brothers but Pierre always scoffed and measured them that this was just him. Sharp edges and all.

Yet that didn't stop people from commenting on his secondary gender. They even went as far as taking about his scent. They pointed out how while he had an underlying tinge of omega to his scent, it was generslly more like an alpha's in that he had been told it was like smoke and leather while Charles and other omegas he knew smelt sweet all the time.

So when he had approached Lando, the alpha who had caught his eye, with a courting gift, Pierre had expected to be rejected. Instead Lando had cradled the gift against his chest as if it were precious with a pink blush on his cheeks and eyes filled with wonder. He had let Pierre court him, let him take him on dates and never once seemed embarrassed ro resentful thay Pierre wanted to take charge of the relationship.

In fact Lando seemed quiet happy to follow Pierre’s lead which was why Pierre needed to bring up something they hadn't talked about before; his heat.

It was coming up over summer break, and while they already had plans together, Pierre wanted to give Lando the option to spend it with him or not. Being in a long distance relationship of course has its drawbacks. The number one being distance. Thousands upon thousands of miles keeping you away from the hold of your lover. You and Jungsu handled it well though. Usually finding or making time to see each other a few times a year.

It had been about 8 months since you and Jungsu were last able to be with each other in person. Either both of your schedules were very busy and booked up or they just simply didn’t line up. At last the two of you were finally able to find a free week for you guys to spend together. Jungsu was flying in tomorrow and you couldn’t be more thrilled about it. Your phone screen lighting up with Jungsu’s contact only added to your excitement, as you quickly swiped to answer it. 

“Hello,” you happily greeted.

“There’s my pretty,” he said when your face filled his screen. No matter how many times he calls you pretty it still makes your heart flutter. You took a quick glance at the time and realized that it was quite late in Korea.

“You know I always love your calls, but it’s late for you and you have a flight to catch in a few hours. Shouldn’t you be sleeping?” you question him.

“I tried, but I’m too excited about seeing you, so I couldn’t sleep. Plus I can sleep on the plane,” he explained. 

“I’m really excited too.” you say. 

You spent the next while talking to each other. Sorting out some things that you wanted to do together when he was here and whatever side conversations took place in between. At the end of the call you did convince him to try and get some sleep. He was a bit pouty about it though, insisting that he would rather keep talking to you. You wished him a goodnight before hanging up the call.

Nerves rustling with excitement were at an all time high as you waited for Jungsu outside of the gate, inside the airport. People began to pour out from the gate and your eyes fervently scanned for your boyfriend. Once you spotted him you called out his name.

“Jungsu!” Waving your arms to make it easier for him to see you. Once your eyes met he immediately made a beeline for you. The second you were in arms reach he pulled you into a hug, dropping his carry on by your feet. Pulling him closer as you wrapped your arms around his torso. He pressed his head against your and left a feather light kiss in your hair. 

“I missed you so much,” he declared, trying to pull you impossibly closer.

“I missed you too,” you reciprocate. Reluctantly the two of you pull apart as you go to pick up his luggage.

Just as you shut the door to your apartment, after getting back from the airport, Jungsu instantaneously had you back wrapped in his arms. 

“As much as I enjoy this. I think the couch would be more suitable than the doorway,” your voice slightly strained from how tightly he was holding you.

“Right, sorry,” he says. Jungsu still didn’t let go though, instead he waddled the two of you over to the couch, pulling you down onto it with him. There you both stayed cozied up.

“Don’t you wanna eat something?” you broke the silence and embrace as you pulled away just enough to lift your head to see Jungsu’s face.

“Later, I have to make up for lost cuddles,” he speaks, gently bringing your head back down to his chest. You let out a light laugh at his words, but you felt the same. The distance really did limit the amount of skinship you guys could have. That’s why in moments like these when that distance was closed the pair of you could only make the most of it.

After a while you ordered some food to eat and ate it while watching a movie in the living room. While cleaning up the trash from dinner, Jungsu managed to sneak away for a moment. When he returned he was holding a ring box in his hand, hiding it behind his back.

“Y/n,” he called you just after you threw away the last of the trash.

“Yeah,” you casually responded. 

“I got a present for you,” you said with his finger nervously fiddling with the box.

“Aww you didn’t have to,” you say as you walk over to where he was standing just outside of the kitchen. He pulled out the box from behind his back and noticed how you looked at the box speedily clarifying.

“I’m not proposing. I just wanted to get us promise rings,” he opened up the box revealing two silver rings with half a heart engraved on each ring. 

“Jungsu you’re too good for me,” you told him as you admired the rings with some tears tempting to prick your eyes.

“And you’re perfect for me,” he replies to your statement. Now carefully grabbing your ring from the box and you hold your hand out for him.

“One day there will be no distance in our relationship. Just us, you and me together,” he declares before he slides the ring onto your finger. You briefly stare at the ring adorning your finger before taking Jungsu’s ring from the box. Grabbing his hand with your other one.

“You and me together,” you repeat his last words, sliding the ring onto his finger. “Let’s take a picture,” you say gleefully. Jungsu smiles at your cuteness. You pull out your phone and open the camera. The first picture to take is of you and Jungsu holding up your ringed hands as you rest your heads against each other. The second photo is just of your guys hands, making a heart with your thumbs and pointer fingers. 

After the mini photo session you got ready for bed. Once more you and Jungsu were cuddled up. You rested your head on his shoulder and grabbed the hand with your promise ring in his and rested them together on his chest. His thumb kept playing with your ring. Just before you closed your eyes to sleep you said.

“I love you,” nuzzling your head against his shoulder.

“I love you too,” he spoke before pulling your hand up to his lips, leaving a gentle kiss on your fingers.

Yes, the distance can suck, but you and Jungsu promised to close it. Someday it will be just you and him together.

Momo's body started to feel weird as she saw Jihyo and Tzuyu laugh and play without her. She didn't understand why they didn't want her to join in.

The door creaked open and in toddled Sana, her chubby cheeks glowing with happiness. She saw Momo sitting alone and a look of confusion sat on her face.

Sana toddled over to Momo and patted her on the leg, she hated seeing anyone sad especially her best friend Momo.

Momo smiled at Sana, thankful she still wanted to play with her.

“Hiya baby.” Momo leaned forward a bit and gave Sana an over exaggerated kiss on the cheek.

Nayeon was looking for Sana to give her a change but soon relized something was up with Momo as she entered the playroom.

She gently rubbed Momos cheek to get her attention, “Hi honey, is everything okay? You’re looking a bit sad, hmm?”

Momo told Nayeon about Jihyo and Tzuyu not playing with her, and how it made her feel. Nayeon listened carefully, nodding in understanding.

“Don’t worry chickpea, i’ll talk to them about it after dinner. You could spend time with Mina if you’d like but she’s going through an odd emo phase right now.” Nayeon explains rambling on a bit, seriously what has gotten into Mina?

The way u can tell she’s used to helping him with these situations because of how non judgemental and supportive she is, she knows it’s not actually fine when he says it is, and she keeps a lighthearted energy to her the whole time even though they recently broke up. And then when he thanks her and basically confirms that she’s helped him through moments like that before just agrgrhrhhrhrhrhrh fuckkk they’re so 🤲🤲🤲

There are some CUTE fucking interactions in this chapter between them. The little “you trying to butter me up?” Interaction is so sillyyyyy so silly of them and she calls him a fucking camera dork😭😭😭🤌🤌🤌 and they’re laughing and smiling and shit even tho they were just discussing their breakup moments before oghhhh my god☹️☹️🫡🫡🫡. A headcanon I hold dear to my heart is the fact Norton kind of follows Alice around a kin to a lost puppy (yes, even his hunter form, yes it has spooked her) sometimes. No one knows why, and when pressed about Norton will just tell people to shove off (lol).

Another headcanon I have is Alice and Norton together. Be like trapped in the manor forever idea or the fun idea they escaped together, Norton helps Alice out. Alice is the one person who Norton doesn't mind helping because she gets him. Sure, Norton will still be an ass about it sometimes, but its more of a playful teasing ass that Alice would and can play along with. Plus the two are a terrifying combo together. Norton is the brawns and cunning street smarts while Alice is the book smarts and detective skills. They get into a lot of mischief together, even with Norton's hunter form throw into the mix. Examples of this are: Norton and Alice going off the beaten map and exploring, maybe him lifting heavy stuff up for Alice to squeeze into to find something or lifting Alice herself up into vents. Or Alice knowing the ins and outs of the manor well, so she knows how to sneak around and teaches Norton all the passages it holds so he can move around quickly.

Adding to this too, while they work well together, they also know when to let the other go and do their own thing since it can and WILL get results. Even if the other has to clean up after them.

Also a bonus headcanon thats not 100% Alicenort related, but kind is near the end headcanon: Norton owns a hunting knife that he has on person 24/7. Has this resulted in him stabbing hunters? Yes. Has this also resulted in him stabbing his fellow survivors? Probably, maybe, okay only when he is very out of it and they spook him (fight of flight response and Norton screams the fight response). Alice knows about this and usually calls out to Norton to makes her presence known when he is like this.

Like, this dude can handle working in the mines with his lungs barely working and still lugging around rubble and whacking through it all with a pickaxe, with very little food fueling him. This dude lives on ambition and spite alone ah Then Alice over here seeing stuff like 'that bird is a particular shade of blue so that means we are near this place where something crazy happened' and running right towards the danger as Norton has to run after her. Her getting them involved with so much garbage loool but they have been through so much in their lives that honestly why not, by this point 🤣 LOL the image of them trying to break into a business, (to get the sussy documents so they could have the proof that the business is corrupt and have them close down), and Norton lifting up Alice so she can slip through the window LOL Alice: "do I weigh anything to you?" Norton: "no, its like holding a couple of grapes"
