Honestly shoutout to Steven Universe for the representation of malachite and abusive relationships because it holds up really well and is still like one of the only abuse narratives I’ve seen that portrays how like. Abusive relationships aren’t as simple as “evil abusive person was constantly Mean and Bad to nice victim” like. Lapis is a realistic victim. She refused to leave the relationship because she longed to have connection with someone and she liked feeling as though she could have control for once, even though she really didn’t. She wasn’t nice and innocent, she felt anger and resentment and liked taking it out on Jasper. And despite how horrible it was, she deeply misses Jasper because it was the longest and deepest relationship she’s ever had with anyone and she didn’t know how to function without it
But Lapis is still a victim and we’re meant to care for her and understand where she comes from. She chose to stay with Jasper to keep others safe from her harm, and because she thought she herself deserved the abuse as a way of making up for everything bad she’s done. Jasper reminds Lapis over and over that she is a monster and that’s why they should be together, because Jasper is the only one who understands her. And when Lapis finally rejects their relationship, she mostly states it through what she herself felt and has done, saying that she didn’t like the person she became in that relationship and she never wants to feel like that ever again. It’s messy and complicated, just like how actual abuse is
Anyways yeah talk about a very good abuse narrative thanks steven universe

Not to be That Guy but like.
Am I the only one that can't stop thinking about how Tianlang-Jun says about Luo Binghe that he pretends to be cold-hearted like his mother. The hint of fondness there, the heartache in that utterance.
Like it drives me absolutely insane. Imagining her putting on a front of strength, cold and driven and unrelenting. Why does TLJ say that about her. Did she secretly look for solutions that meant reconciling with demons instead of hurting them when her sect wasn't looking? (I wonder this because I feel like his weird fondness for SQQ would lowkey track if it's connected to the woman he once loved.) Did he mean that she was tasked with basically assassinating him and she fell in love with him instead (re: failed step one)? Did he mean that she was fond and doting in her own way (e.g. conceding he was attractive, paying for his exploits and humoring him)? Did he mean that, like LBH, she thought that power would be the thing to protect her--and that it was disguising a person who was deeply and privately wounded? All four????? I don't need sleep I need a n s w e r s
Did she know about the Huanhua Palace Master's skeevy ass intentions before she met TLJ? Or did those only come to significant light after she fell in love with TLJ? Is that why she never anticipated that level of betrayal, because initially she had no intention of being with anyone romantically? And HHPM just assumed she would be under his thumb forever?? Was she furious at her own indiscretion or did she try to use the pregnancy as a bargaining chip, a way to try to stop the immortals of Cang Qiong Mountain from attacking TLJ (plus the bonus of marriage entrapment no takesies backsies this is where LBH gets it from)? Did she try to use that claim on her to dissuade HHPM from his covetous advances, framing herself as tainted so that she could finally escape? Did she dream of a life by TLJ's side, far away from Cang Qiong Mountain?
Like. Literally every single permutation of what this could mean guts me to hell. Do you ever just cry about tianxi because I--[loud bawling noises]

is interesting how youre the one 'non prob' raeda artist and yet people always try and find the most flimsy excuses to cancel you over the most menial shit posible
and then that same folks cry that no one draws raeda
huh
Yeaaah...
I've kinda thought about that as well. It's like, Man. No one even cares about this ship or this character (Raine) so how do people now care enough to nitpick and manufacture outrage?
I would get it if I was an actual gross person, but I'm constantly vocally against anything genuinely bad (sexualizing kid characters, how fandoms including this one treats non-white characters, exc).
And I KNOW those people know this because those same people either outright follow me or lurk though my accounts (I see them in my notifications enough to recognize them)
I've seen much more popular artists draw borderline to straight up problematic content and people continue to support them and share their art around. Do you SEE the kinda things drawn of TOH ships involving the kids?
I could sympathize to an extent if you're looking for Raeda/Raine content and I'm the only one who pops up when you don't like my content. But I am one artist, not even a popular one, that you can easily block.
Also I gotta deal with bigots mad I drew a trans character and now progressive people are mad at me for drawing that trans character too? You're supposed to be on my side 🤕

Can we please let Wild experience emotions without calling him sus.
You all can have your own theories but tbh for me the "Wild is Dink" theory has you make so many leaps in logic.
I could make a whole essay about it and I will but I have to go to sleep but it will be covering such topics of:
What the wild dink theory is
Why I personally find it a bit farfetched
And evidence
Till then remember to take this with a grain of salt and you are all valid

i'm so glad i left radtwt when i did (i just follow a few of my favs on main) and i'm seeing the dumbest fucking drama over there. they're really on the end of their ropes about letting women shave and wear makeup. and while i get their general argument of "let's not keep dividing ourselves as women over relatively small things like if a woman shaves or not!" they're all starting to sound a bit too libfem to the radfems who do have stricter beliefs and stances on aesthetic things like that for obviously good reasons. they're really like "but it's my choice wah focus on the bigger issues" like is all you really have to back up why you wear makeup a "it's my choice" argument babe? that's...laughable really. even then, deciding not to shave or wear makeup to gain more body positivity for yourself that then can inspire women around you is actually a deeply foundational action that if you can't do something as simple as that how can i trust you can pull any harder punches ngl.
