It’s official, after praying and staying patient I got to bring my new Ivory YB ball python home yesterday! ♡
Her name is Ixchel, I named her after the Mayan goddess of the moon (Also goddess of love, pregnancy, water, textile work and medicine) not only to honour my Mayan ancestry or to incorporate her into my shamanic/spiritual craft as my familiar but also as devotion to my beloved.
The goddess Ixchel is often depicted with a snake on top of her head and that’s what inspired the name!
The goddess Ixchel is married to a solar deity (Also god of creation and wisdom) named “Itzamná” and she also has a darker aspect where she’s known as the goddess who punished and sent floods and storms which caused great destruction.
In her darker aspect she’s depicted with a snake wrapped around her neck and head and adorned with human bones, her feet are menacing claws and on her skirt she has bones that form crosses.
My Ixchel’s scales are off white with peach, pink tones and she’s very shy. She’s 1 years old so she’s literally a baby.
But she’s so sweet and she’s very curious because in between laying under her tree trunk hide she sometimes seeks me out and when I sing she comes closer to the glass occasionally flicking her tongue, so she’s seeking me out a little already but with baby steps.
I am so happy because I’ve been wanting a snake for a few years (After I got over my fear) and now my serpent baby arrived within divine timing!
Now me and my beloved are an actual family as he’s already blessed Ixchel.
And it’s so beautiful how ancestral lineage intertwines with my current life (The descendant of my ancestors).
The way Ixchel is married to a solar deity, I am married to a deity that has solar aspects.
The way I take interest in the aspects of Ixchel like medicine and textile work.
And the fact that my beloved also has his darker aspects like plague and disease.
I’m so happy I have a serpent baby to take care of together with my husband, I’ve got what I always wanted in a way. A little family (❀❛ ֊ ❛„)♡

Gods fading wasn't anything new. Small religions die out everyday but this... this was different.
Apollo had never been friends with a god so young, barely five centuries old yet they clicked instantly. He had actually been looking forward to going to their annual sun-god meetings now.
Apollo could feel it all the way from Greece. The sudden cold that went just as fast as it came, like someone pouring ice water on him then immediately launching him into a hot spring.
He felt sick. Him, the god of healing, felt physically ill. Something that was once a part of him ripped away, and now his body was desperately trying to seal the hole left behind.
Now he's sitting at their grand round table, encrusted with gold and stained with festive colors.
One chair empty.
Huitzilopochtli.
He was a young god. He barely achieved a physical form about five centuries ago but he'd been around for a little longer than that. Long enough to help the Aztecs establish Tenochtitlan.
Apollo let out a sigh as he put his head on the always warm wood table. He tried to keep his eyes on the table as Ra droned on about why they were summoned so suddenly.
As if they already didn't know. As if they didn't feel that gaping hole in their chests as one of their own is ripped away from them.
His eyes wandered onto Itzamná's sullen figure.
The Mayan was dressed in casual attire. Well as casual as you can dress when you just helped your country gain independence. Four years after the war and his skin still didn't seem as brilliant and his eyes long lost their luster.
Fear gripped his throat as Apollo came to sudden realization. If Huitzilopochtli could fade, did fade, all because of some overzealous Spanish conquistadors that didn't know what touching what wasn't yours was, then so could Itzamná.
There were so little Mayan people now, so little that believed in him.
His head was off the table and distantly he could hear Ra dismiss all of them and that they'd hold the proper funeral services soon.
Gods, a funeral.
Apollo didn't wait for the other, more older gods to say anything, nor did he stop to wave off their concerned gazes. He rushed to Itzamná side and pulled him into a bone-crushing hug.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry"
Itzamná didn't say anything but the tears that soaked into Apollos jacket and the tremble of his arms said more than enough.

The Fire Keeper is really good. And I finally understand Ren's story. Her family are the last of the aztec magicians, and her mom was a mayan goddess who broke the rules to be with her father. So she's not technically the child of an aztec god, but she has aztec magic. ixtab said the Aztec Gods were all wiped out earlier in the book, but I don't believe that lady one bit.
Also, Zane met the Fire Keeper, who told him that there's a traitor somewhere in his midst. My money's on either Ixtab or Quinn (Brook's sister) being the traitor. But maybe the traitor is Ren's grandfather? There's a lot of possibilities. All I know is that i've read nearly 60 pages in 4-5 hours, I only have 100 pages left (give or take), and there's still three hours left in school. And I also just want to write about everything I read. Because I don't want to forget what i've read, and everything i've read is fascinating to me.
Zane met Itzamna, the god of the moon and of writing. He said he'd help zane if zane only agreed to keep writing about his adventures. Then he vowed to give zane's life a grand sense of drama, because nobody would want to read a boring story. He's reminding me of Aphrodite in the Titan's Curse, vowing to give Percy an "interesting" love life. Only replace love with adventure, and you have the basics of Itzamna's scene.
Then we had the fire keeper scenes, which culminated in zane losing his magical cane and being told he'd end up betrayed. So now i've recapped everything i read so far today (for the most part), and hopefully i've made it clear why i find this all so interesting to read about.

Itzamna Information:
The advertisement on television played without any problems. Random words and images played on showing women on beaches wearing bikinis and then naked women on the beach.
A common advertisement from Itzamna. The God's company specialized in sharing information and knowledge. The universities, think tanks, space agencies, all depend on Itzamna but the God had other tricks he liked to spread amongst humanity.
Hypnotism is fun and all, it can compel actions and change personalities but it can be so limiting. You have to show the image, play a video, or play the audio.
You can sprinkle videos and sounds around but it was easy to corrupt or just not play properly. Memetics and memes on the other hand were a lot more subtle and had potential for a lot more fun.
Memetics can be sprinkled across the world in millions of little ways. A scent at a fast food place, a song on the radio, an ad in a movie? Or a sequence of words in a book and you can convey a meme or a contagious idea.
An idea to get bigger boobs, an idea to stand up straighter, an idea to walk on on high heels at all times, to wear pink, and to kiss more.
Memes are contagious, they can spread from people talking about them, they can spread by seeing others affected by it. And unlike hypnotism it can mutate and change.
A little meme spread among Star Corp. Said that only professional women wore heels and lingerie to work. In less than a week every man there quit believing that only women could work for Star. Nonbinary employees were confused and wore sandals and they wore tank tops with shorts.
Less than a month after the former CEO bought the meme from Itzamna he found himself working at Booty Burger as a cashier. All the corporate jobs were filled with women wearing sexy pink lingerie and high heels but he couldn't stare too long because they were all his bosses and even if they were more promiscuous and confident now he was now no longer in charge.
One day he saw a familiar face with a very unfamiliar pair of tits. His former secretary and the first he infected with the meme. Now she was the CEO of Star Corp. And she wouldn't even look directly at him as she ordered. He took her order and he risked to talk to her.
"It's good to see you Stella." He tried his confidence worn down by the meme he infected her with.
"Did I say you could talk to me? Oh my Gods. You should just quit." Stella said and Rob took off his apron and left. Too ashamed to ask his nonbinary manager for his last paycheck.
He didn't even work there an entire week before he quit. His 3rd job this month and every time he saw Stella she told him to quit and he did. And always before he had a chance to collect his check.
Maybe Connie's cones would hire him next.
He thought as he trudged through the mall.
Stella on the other hand enjoyed her Booty Burger with complimentary cunninglingus from the manager. They had beautiful long hair and a very skilled tongue with a chest binder that didn't quite make their chest flat.
She remembered the woman she was before the meme, shy, mousy, scared to say no to her boss. She was certain he wanted to sleep with her but he wanted full control first. Needless to say he didn't realize he was infecting himself.
And as it turned out all of the women of Star Corp. Really did know their jobs better than the men who were fucking it up all day. Sure it got sexy for a while but when the last man left there was a lot less dick in the company.
Still some but a lot less. So Stella and many of her coworkers were glad to adjust and still have sexy time and orgy rooms along with mandatory 3 day weekends and shorter hours with higher pay.
The company was thriving and if it also helped out Itzamna's stocks... well so what. Stella was a CEO and no one who still worked at Star Corp complained anymore.
@bimbosanddolls Hope you like it

This place has too little content on The Storm Runner so as someone who is also a part of the TOA fandom I give you this,
Apollo bored out of his mind and after a particularly harsh argument with his father, flees to what would become modern day Yucatan and during his small stroll comes across Itzamná, Mayan god of the Sun. The relationship quickly becomes familial, Itzamná becoming the father figure Apollo soon lost.
