"for fucks sake." ryan mumbled under his breath as he looked up from his book, only to be met with his friends sitting at the table of in front of yours.
"what's wrong, love?"
"they're here again. they're not even trying to be secretive anymore!" he scoffed as your eyes stayed glued to your work. you had a very important coming up, and you needed a good grade.
"just ignore them, babes. they're kids, let them be." you answered, leaning your head down on his shoulder as his eyes met with will's, who had wide smirk on his face.
"oh my god, what are you guys doing here?" gabe asked as they all got up and walked over to sit at your table. ryan let out a loud groan considering you were in a library as his friends made themselves comfortable.
"get out of here!" he spat at his teammates, making you chuckle a bit, but staying focused on your work.
"are we not allowed to study?" will asked, his smirk still present as ryan sent him a death glare.
"where're your books?"
"in my bag."
"take them out and study then. at another table." he said harshly, making all his friends laugh a bit.
"what if we want to sit at this table?" jacob asked, ryan rolling his eyes. your boyfriend looked over at you, begging you to tell the guys to leave, but you were too focused on your book to realize the look he was sending you.
"it's a library, be quiet." ryan warned the guys before looking back down at his work. your head was still leaning on his shoulder, making gabe snap a pic of the two of you. of course, the boy hadn't realized his flash was still on, making it blankly obvious what he was up to.
"get out!"
"what, why?"
"you're not here to study, you're here to bother us. so leave!"
"it was an accident!"
"can you guys go bicker somewhere else? i'm trying to study." you whispered harshly, making all the boys go quiet as they stared at you. you had finally looked up from your book, now sending ryan's friends a death glare that matched your boyfriend's. "all of you." you added, turning your head to look at ryan.
"me?" he gasped, his jaw dropping slightly.
"yes, you. you're the reason these ding dongs keep bothering me, so get out." you sassed, making ryan roll his eyes slightly before he started packing his bag.
"you guys are such assholes." your boyfriend mumbled as he got up from his seat, pressing a kiss to your forehead before making his way out. his friends followed closely, rambling about something that clearly wasn't making ryan happy.

Tumblr media
word count: 1.84k
summary: after will sees you at a party, he can't get you out of his head despite not knowing your name
warnings: one curse word, descriptions of reader having auburn hair
notes: based on 'i don't even know your name' by shawn mendes. after he came out with noah kahan in toronto, i've been listening to shawn's old albums non-stop.
The music thumped from inside the house, slightly muted to Will and the other patrons in the backyard. The warm glow of string lights overhead illuminated the scene, casting a soft, inviting ambiance over the backyard. Will lined up the shot, raising his arm and tossing the ping pong ball towards the cups at the other end of the table. The ball bounced off the rim of a red solo cup and onto the grass below.
“You are so bad at this, man.” Ryan groaned.
“Fuck off dude.” Will retorted.
Will didn’t want to be at this party if he was being honest. He had a paper to finish and a project to work on. If it wasn’t for Gabe practically guilt-tripping him into coming, Will would be sitting comfortably in their dorm and, if he was being honest with himself, he would probably be playing video games instead of doing his homework.
Gabe and the rest of the guys knew he didn’t want to be there so they goaded him into playing beer pong, hoping that by the end of the first round, they’d have convinced him to stay. However, now nearing the end of the game, Will was anticipating the moment he got to leave. Standing in the backyard, amongst the smokers and those watching their game of pong, Will truly wanted to leave.
“Will, you’re up,” Jacob said, pulling Will from his brief daze. He looked down at the table, noticing that Ryan had gotten them one cup away from a win, which would allow Will to go home.
Will lined up the shot, taking this one more seriously than any past shot. He steadied his hand, aiming for the sole plastic cup at the back of the table. Out of the corner of his eye, Will spotted the sliding door open. His eyes flicked over to the entrance, stopping on your figure as you emerged into the dimly lit backyard. The soft glow of string lights illuminated your silhouette as you stepped onto the back porch, casting a gentle halo around you.
Will's hand paused in mid-air, the ping-pong ball balanced precariously on his fingertips. Gabe, Ryan, and Jacob groaned in frustration.
"What's wrong with you, Will? Take the shot!" Ryan groaned.
Will blinked, tearing his eyes away from the allure of the girl on the porch. “Sorry…just thought I saw something.”
The boys followed Will’s unwavering gaze to the porch, immediately spotting what had captured his attention. “That’ll make him want to stay.” Jacob said under his breath.
“Go talk to her.” Gabe said.
Ryan shook his head, clamping a hand on Will's shoulder. “No, no. Don’t try and get out of this right before Smitty and I are about to win.” Ryan said. “Finish the game first, then he can go flirt.”
“You’re robbing him of a chance at love.” Gabe challenged. Sure, he wasn’t thrilled about being on the verge of losing in beer pong to Ryan who he knew would be bragging the whole night due to his ever-competitive spirit. However, he also really wanted to witness his friend attempt to chat up a girl.
“He can go talk to her after we win!” Ryan said.
Will cast another glance back at you on the porch, watching the shadows dance across your face, highlighting the curve of your cheekbones and the delicate arc of your smile. You seemed to be in deep conversation with a few other girls, giving Will peace of mind that he could quickly make the shot and then go talk to the pretty girl who had completely hijacked his attention.
However, with said attention now split, when Will took his shot he completely airmailed it. The game continued, Will casting occasional glances at you, relief washing over him when you remained on the porch. His turn came once again, this time putting his complete focus on the shot. With a flick of his wrist, Will sent the ball through the air, landing in the cup before Gabe or Jacob could attempt to interfere. Ryan pulled Will in, jumping with the blond nestled under his arm. When Ryan was done with his over-the-top celebrating, Will shoved him off.
“Can I go now?” He asks his friends.
Ryan rolls his eyes, while Gabe and Jacob wave him off, encouraging their friend to talk to the girl who had captured his attention. However, when Will turned to look at you, his eyes came up empty. You had disappeared from where Will had last seen you. He scanned the rest of the backyard in hopes that you had ventured further, however, Will’s heart sank as that was also futile.
He moved inside, searching the kitchen, then the living room for your presence. Or even the presence of your friends who could potentially tell him where you were. Despite his efforts, he found no one. Not you, not your friends. Will returned to the backyard, a sense of defeat washing over him. Will found his friends in another round of beer pong, this time with a girl having taken his spot as Ryan’s teammate.
Will stood next to the table, watching as Ryan guided the girl's arm, aiding her in making a shot. “She’s gone.” Will told them, voice tinged with disappointment.
Gabe exchanged a sympathetic look with Jacob before coming over and patting Will on the back. "Sorry, man,” Gabe said, sympathetically. “Maybe you’ll see her around?”
Will could only shrug, feeling as though he wasn’t going to. Regret gnawed at him, as well as a slight sense of resentment towards Ryan, as he couldn’t help but wonder what would’ve been if he had seized the moment when he had the chance.
Weeks passed since the party and Will was genuinely considering checking himself into a psych ward over you. Ever since the first glimpse, you’d woven yourself into the fabric of Will’s thoughts. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t seem to shake you from his mind. Will was genuinely baffled at the way you’d become a constant presence in his mind. He’d always prided himself on being a fairly level-headed and rational guy, especially on the ice. However, he now found himself fixated on a girl he had only seen briefly.
He didn’t even know your name.
Will felt as though he had to find you, had to unravel the mystery of who you were and why you had such a powerful hold over him. There’d been several times when Will thought he’d seen you. Where he caught a glimpse of auburn locks and nearly ran up to them thinking it was you. But it never was.
During an away game in Maine, he thought he saw you. He spotted a cascade of auburn hair amidst the crowd and nearly completely abandoned the play at hand to get another glimpse. When Will brought it up to his linemates during the intermission, they could only laugh at his suggestion, reminding him of the miles between them and the sheer impossibility of you being there.
Will tried his best to push the idea of you from his mind, trying to force himself to move on and forget about the girl whom he’d decidedly conjured up in his mind. Will fully focused his mind on hockey and schoolwork, which is how he found himself in the library for the first time. He wandered the rows of tables, trying to find a relatively empty spot that he could settle into and work on his assignments.
Will’s eye briefly caught a glimpse of auburn hair but didn’t pay much mind to it. Every other time he’d believed he’d seen you, it turned out to be a doppelganger. But upon a second glance, he couldn’t believe it. He blinked, almost convinced that his bogged-down mind had conjured up the image of you. But as he took a closer look, Will realized it was indeed you—your hair cascading down her shoulders, the exact smile he’d seen on your face that night was back on your lips as you talked with your friends.
Will’s heart race quickened in his chest, the sound loud in his ears. As Will contemplates approaching you, a sudden realization washes over him that he hasn’t thought about what he’d say to you. In his mind, Will envisioned countless scenarios where your paths intersected, where your eyes met, and conversation flowed effortlessly. But in none of these dreams did he consider the stark reality of the moment where he would admit his feelings without the safety net of prepared words. Will grapples with the scenario, knowing that every second of hesitation is a missed opportunity. He can’t wait like he did last time.
Will finds his feet carrying himself in your direction before he knows it. Every last ounce of courage was summoned as he approached you. Will stops at the end of your table, yours as well as your friends' attentions turning to the blond.
"Um, hi," he started, his voice betraying the nervousness he felt. Your eyes, however, were soft as you waited for the blond to continue. "I couldn't help but notice… you seem familiar. Have we met before?"
That was a lie, obviously. Will knew they’d never interacted. But it was his sole attempt at making his presence seem natural. Your lips quirked into a small smile, and he felt a surge of relief at her response. "I don't think so," you replied, your voice soft and melodic. "I'm y/n."
Will’s heart skipped a beat at the sound of your name, a name he had longed to know since the moment he first saw you. "I'm Will," he introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you, Will," you said, returning his smile. There was something about the way you said his name that sent a shiver down his spine.
Emboldened by your friendly demeanour, he decided to take a leap of faith. "Would you like to grab a coffee with me sometime? Maybe we could… catch up on all the times we haven't met before," he added with a sheepish grin, hoping his attempt at humour would lighten the mood.
Your smile widened, and a playful glint danced in your eyes, appreciating the boldness of the boy who’d approached you. "I'd like that, Will," you said. "How about tomorrow afternoon?"
"That sounds perfect," he said, unable to contain the grin that spread across his face.
As you exchanged contact information, Will couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building within him. Will said goodbye to you, as well as your friends that he’d, in all honesty, had forgotten were there. As Will walked away from your table, his heart felt like it was doing cartwheels in his chest. He couldn't believe what just happened — finally mustering the courage to approach you, and to his amazement, you were even more captivating up close. Will walked off, exhilaration coursing through his veins. So much so that he left the library and forgone his pending assignments, excited that he now knew your name.

ryan leonard x oc hughes sister au
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
frankie woke up suddenly, with her chest; rapidly breathing up and down. she had the worst dream that frankie hughes thought she could have; a sex dream. the only problem? it was about drew fortescue.
she felt awfully guilty due to the fact her boyfriend was soundly asleep next to her and here she was dreaming about her ex- situation ship?
I mean it's not like she still wanted drew. it was one of those dreams that you know has happened before and for some reason your mind wants to remind you it happened; but why?
she thought back and recounted the dream even though it made her cringe. she tried way to hard trying to impress him back then. she focused on what she remembered from the 'dream' or whatever it was, and her eyes widened when she realized there was a flash? a flash of what? a camera?
they had filmed themselves! she suddenly remembered as she gasped loud, waking ryan.
"wha- what!" he said as he spinged up and turned on the light, taking a good look at his girlfriend who looked nothing but guilty.
"you alright franks?" he asked after she just starred at him.
"uhm- ya. I just- just... had a-- nightmare?" she said coming up with a lie.
ryan eyed her for a moment before huffing and crawling back into bed,
"c'mere" he said before pulling her directly on top of him, something that he knew calmed and put his girlfriend to sleep as he rubbed her back. she hummed snugging her head into his neck. she loved- liked Ryan so much.
you cant love him already frankie! get a grip. you like him, alot.
___
it was the next morning and frankie didn't waste anytime and got up and ready for the day. she had one mission and that was; going to talk to drew. someone she hadn't spoken too since their last... meeting? she needed to know what happened to that video.
why had she forgotten? if that ever got out... her career, her brothers career, drew's career, hell even ryan's career would be over. the media would drag her and everyone who loved her through the mud. she wanted to cry just thinking about it, she needed to get that video wiped from existence.
she sped towards the hockey house knowing ryan was safe in class, away from the mayhem her mind was causing. she couldn't have him knowing about this yet, it could all just be; nothing.
he deserves to know it exist
she huffed before knocking on the door to the house hoping she would just be in and out; no one had to see she was even there.
god obviously had other plans because aram opened the door, and announced to will, gabe, jacob, and drew who were sitting around eating breakfast, that 'lady hughes' was here, as they nicknamed her. he stepped aside and motioned her inside.
"hey frankie, ryan's not here, we thought he was at your place?" will said as he grabbed her a chair and motioned her to sit,
"thanks but I'm not here for him. I actually needed to talk to drew" she said looking at drew, who choked on his cereal. frankie had been acting like he was non-existent since she got with ryan.
"i- i'm sorry?" he said coughing as everyone looked between the two with wide eyes.
"we need to talk... privately" she added when no one moved.
"does lenny know your here?" gabe asked, something that everyone was thinking.
"no. this has nothing to do with him. drew please" she said walking towards drew's room.
the guys looked at him with eyes as if they were all saying 'whats that about' and he shrugged before following the girl.
he entered the room and looked at her as she stood in the middle the room,
"do I shut the door... or-"
"yes please" she said quickly as he proceeded to shut it.
"I'm sorry" she said looking at him.
"for what?"
"for... everything. I mean-- I basically used you. and I thought, that you would one day like me back, and when you didn't, I just ghosted you and randomly popped out with one of your best friends, and I know how that looks. you must think I'm a slut, and maybe I am but I love ryan. I love him so much, which is why I'm afraid he's not going to like me anymore after he finds out about the video-- the video we made that one night, and I know you don't owe me anything, and I've acted like you were non existent-
"woah woah frankie? slow down. deep breaths okay?" he said as he cut off her rambling, and noticed she was crying.
"now... what are you going on about?" he said as she calmed down.
"the sex tape we made, drew" she said sniffing.
he starred at her for a moment; thinking as it came back to him,
"i deleted that once I realized we were done, for real" he said seriously.
"you did?" she said finally looking up at him.
"yeah... when I found out lenny liked you, I deleted it. it would be super weird to even still have that" he told her
"you can even go through my phone if you don't believe me, but I swear. I wouldn't do that to you, or ryan" he said starring at her for a second before holding up a pinky, something he knew frankie took very seriously.
"it's okay. I believe you-- but... did you ever tell or show anyone it?" she asked nervously rubbing her arms.
"no, I meant it when I told you it would stay between us"
frankie felt a huge weight come off her shoulders as she sighed.
"does ryan know that it existed?" he asked her.
"no, I'm scared to tell him. I really like him and I'm scared he's gonna look at me differently"
"look frankie, ryan's been in love with you since he met you, probably even more now that you've become this mature woman... and stop saying 'liked' you said you loved him earlier"
"I do. but I haven't told him and what if I say it to him and he doesn't say it back?" she said nervously
"well then you get rejected, you've been there before!" he said trying to cheer her up, something that made her throw a pillow at him.
"your an ass" she said laughing.
"look... I know we don't talk anymore, but I'm always here. I'll be a friend if you ever need one hughes" he said after a moment as frankie stood up.
"thank you forts, for everything. even rejecting me" she said as she brought him in for a hug.
they pulled apart as they heard the door open, revealing no there than ryan. who looked between them with a heart shattering look.
"ry-
"len-"
he shook his head before rushing down the stairs where the rest of the guys were.
"ryan, I need to explain-"
"you know, I really believed you when you said you were over him-"
"I am over him!"
"obviously!" he said pointing upstairs
"we were just talking-" drew tried to add
"SHUTUP" both frankie and ryan yelled at the poor guy in unison as ryan walked out of the hockey house.
"I'm over him ryan. i'm done having this fight-" frankie said following him, now just being the two of them outside.
"yeah? how could you be so sure?"
"because... I am. I.-- like you ryan." frankie said as she cringed, she couldn't tell him she loved him yet.
why not?
ryan frowned.
"well maybe you like two people then-"
"I know I don't like two people"
"yeah? how could you be sure?" he challenged
"because you can't love two people!" she said exhaustedly
this was enough to make ryan's world stop spinning, even if it was just for a moment.
"I love you ryan" she said sniffly as she walked closer to him, slowly as he smiled.
"yeah?" he teased her seeing as how red his girlfriend was getting. this was rare due to the fact the roles were always reversed between the two, whereas he was the one always getting red.
"you don't have to say it back or anything but I just need you to know that I love you. and I'm not saying this because I'm trying to make you forget that I was hugging drew earlier, but it's a long story- actually, it's not that long. look, if your gonna love me back, you need to know this. I made a sex tape with drew back when we were together, and I had totally forgotten until last night and-"
"a sex tape?" ryan asked again, as if he didn't hear right the first time,
"yes, but it doesn't exist anymore-- that's what a came to ask drew. I would never do... THAT to you" she told him
"why didn't you tell me you were coming then, I would of helped you or-"
"because-- I was scared you were gonna look at me differently, which I'm pretty sure you do now, anyways-"
"I do look at you differently now hughes" he told her as she looked down and fiddled with her fingers.
this was it, the only good thing you had in your life; you ruined.
"but only because when I look at you; now , I see the woman I love"
this made frankie look up as tears welled in her eyes.
"yeah?" she said pressing up against him.
"yeah." he said before smiling and wrapping his arms around her before he leaned down to kiss his girlfriend.
they pulled apart and leaned their foreheads on each other as they just smiled at one another.
"so you don't think i'm a whore" she asked
"never-- my girl likes sex, why would that be a problem?" he said as she playfully slapped his arm.
"your the best leonard" she said as she wrapped an arm around his neck and they walked sideways.
"your my favorite. pretty hughes"

Sammy is so happy after last nights win for BC- especially since Will got his first hat trick and was named mvp of the game 🥺
no one else i’d rather celebrate with
yes she was! she had the game on her computer in her dorm where both her and hannah were cheering for the boys as they watched them celebrate on the ice.
hughes!sister x will smith au (samy + will blurb)
samy couldn’t be more proud of her boyfriend for tonight & they desperately wished they were in the same place to celebrate
i wrote this at like 1 am and i’m actually pretty happy with the outcome LOL keep sending in requests! i’m slowly working though my inbox, but i wanted to get this one out since it just happened and i didn’t wanna wait too long :)
au masterlist
as soon as the buzzer sounded, samy was jumping out of her chair, screaming in excitement with hannah. the two girls grasped one another’s arms, nearly in tears as all the boys immediately stormed the ice to celebrate one another and the hockey east victory.
“they won! holy shit, they won!” hannah couldn’t stop screaming, probably making their neighbors wonder what the hell was happening.
samy scanned her screen for her boyfriend. she quickly found his number 6 and the big smile on his lips warming her heart seeing him so, so happy. she couldn’t believe he scored four entire goals and his very first hat trick of his career.
despite all of the joy in her, the disappointment settled beside it that she couldn’t be there in person celebrating with him and the boys. this was the worst part about long distance. they had to celebrate over a facetime, hiding the disappointment that they weren’t together in person.
the cameras were panning to different shots of the bc boys celebrating. one picked up the freshman exchanging tight hugs with one another. samy’s heart warmed seeing will and gabe exchange a loving, proud hug with one another and she knew how much both of them dreamed of this moment together.
“i’m so proud of them,” the brunette gushed, her eyes glued to her computer.
“they played so well. i just know they have a national title in their future,” hannah agreed.
another few minutes passed before awards and honors started getting announced once the commotion settled down.
“with four goals and 1 assist in tonight’s championship game, we would like to announce forward, will smith, as the 2024 hockey east tournament mvp!”
more screams were heard across the small dorm. samy couldn’t contain her excitement watching will skate up to the coaches, another huge smile on his lips as he stood up between them for the photo and his plaque.
all of his hard work finally payed off. the brunette knew how hard he worked all season for this moment and seeing it all come together had tears lining the girl’s eyes.
“oh my god, you’re crying,” hannah pulled her roommate into a tight hug.
“sorry, i’m just so proud of him. he deserves this so much,” samy wiped some of her tears away.
oh how badly she wished she was there in person to give will a giant hug as soon as he walked out of the locker room.
all-tournament was announced with will and gabe included. samy loved how big their smiles were getting praised for doing so well in the sport they loved.
the live stream ended leaving the girl to patiently wait for will’s call. she knew it’d probably be awhile with press and celebrating with the team, so she tried busying herself with some schoolwork.
will’s contact flashed across her screen forty minutes later. samy didn’t waste anytime picking it up, smiling wide when she saw her boyfriend’s own smiling face.
“we’re tournament champions!!” the boy exclaimed and showed off his impressive medal.
“i know!! i’m so, so proud of you, will! you deserve it,” the girl gushed, blowing quick kisses into the camera.
“did you see my four goals?” will asked excitedly and samy nodded.
“watched the entire game. you played so well. i can’t believe you got four goals,” she gushed again.
“me neither. it still feels like a dream i haven’t woken up from. look at my plaque!” he held up the circular piece of hardware with the words most valuable player carved across the bottom.
“it’s incredible. where are you gonna hang it up?” samy wondered.
“i’m thinking right above my bed. what do you think?” will flipped the camera around so samy could see. she nodded.
“i like it there. gotta show it off,” she grinned. will flipped the camera back around, propping his phone against something so he could lean back in his desk chair. his curls were damp from his shower still and he still had his suit on.
“i wish you were here. i miss you,” the blonde said with a sad smile.
“i wish i was there too. at least you got the boys to celebrate with,” the brunette chuckled some.
“i’d rather celebrate with you. i came out of the locker room just instinctively thinking you’d be there waiting like always. i forgot you wouldn’t be,” will’s confession had samy’s heart clenching. a blush spread across her cheeks as she tried finding something to cheer him up with.
“at least summer’s only two months away,” the girl offered.
“two months too long. doing all of this without you by my side like always has been hard to adjust to,” will leaned forward closer to his phone. his second admission was gonna make samy cry.
long distance really did suck sometimes. especially during moments like these ones.
“you’re gonna make me cry,” the girl frowned, but smiled nonetheless.
“i’m sorry, i don’t mean to. i miss you a lot. i really can’t wait for summer,” will chuckled, trying to lighten up the mood.
“your haircut looks nice by the way,” samy commented which instantly made will touch his hair. he flushed.
“it does?”
“mhm. your short hair is cute,” the girl nodded.
“gabe begged me to get a mullet, but i just couldn’t do it. i figured i’d cut in shorter to get rid of dead ends,” the boy chuckled earning a giggle from samy.
she dragged her finger across her desk, seeing the time tick closer and closer to 10:30. she had early morning practice tomorrow and she knew will probably had celebrating to do with the boys after their big win.
“i should probably let you go. you probably have a party to get to or something to celebrate the win,” samy said after a moment despite not wanting to hang up the call so soon.
“what? no. you’re hanging up already?” will quickly sat up. his words had her flushing.
“i mean..i don’t wanna keep you from the parties,” she laughed briefly.
“no, no, you’re not. i promise. i told you i’d rather be celebrating with you,” will urged.
“really? i mean there’s not much we can do over the phone. we can celebrate over the summer. belated celebration. maybe there will even be a national title to celebrate too,” the girl grinned.
“let’s not get too ahead of ourselves,” the blonde laughed. “you know i’d rather spend the night on the phone with you than at some party where i’d just be thinking of you the whole time, right?” he searched her eyes through the screen. another blush spread scores the brunette’s cheeks.
“you’re sure?” samy asked just to make sure. she hated keeping will from doing things with his friends because she truly didn’t mind knowing tonight was a big night.
“i’m sure,” will stuck his pinky out.
samy copped his motion and the two pretended to hook their pinkies together.
“plus, i can think of a few ways we can celebrate over the phone,” a look crossed in will’s eyes and samy immediately knew what he was thinking.
her poor blush got even worse, glad that hannah was in the bathroom so she didn’t hear what he said.
“will!”
all that could be heard was a laugh from his end and the two sharing wide smiles.

ONE
ryan grinned as he walked into a small cafe right off the edge of campus, spoting you right away in the same corner as always. he had just gotten out of his only class for the day, and he could not wait to hold you in his arm again.
"hi, baby." he mumbled with a smile as he leaned down to kiss your forehead. you looked up from your book at his presence, a smile of your own appearing.
"hi, bubba." you smiled as he sat down next to you, letting one of his arm fall to the back of your chair. you leaned your head onto his shoulder as a reflex, hanging him his coffee. "how was class?"
"teacher made gabe improv in front of everyone, you really missed something, babe." your boyfriend laughed as he let his eyes drift to your notebook in front of you. "exam soon?" he questioned, he knew you only took color coded notes when you had an exam approaching.
"monday at like 8:30." you groaned, closing your books so all your attention was on the freckled man next to you. "i'm dreading it already."
"you're gonna do great, like always, love." he whispered, placing a kiss against your temple. you lifted your head from his shoulder, looking up at him with a smile before pressing a peck to his lips.
"okay, yuck." you heard someone exclaim from behind you, making you and ryan pull apart. your eyes fell into a couple of his teammates taking seats next to ryan.
"what do you want?" your boyfriend asked, pulling you a little closer to his side as one of your hands fell onto his thigh.
"that's no way to talk to your friends, leno." will smirked as he patted the boy on the back.
"dude, seriously, we're a bit busy here." ryan said through gritted teeth. his teammates just looked at him with innocent looks, making ryan a little angry.
"it's fine. i need to go to class anyways. i'll see you late, ry. bye, boys." you said, placing a hand on ryan's thigh, hoping it would calm him down, before packing your bag and making your way out the door.
once ryan was sure you were gone, he smacked his best friends behind the head, making all of them groan.
"you guys are the worst."
"what'd we do?" gabe knew he was pushing the limit, but he had never seen his best friend act like this because of a girl before. they all found it so cute how ryan was such a menace on the ice, getting in everyone's faces, always being in the middle of a scum, but he was always so gentle with you.
"we've barely spent time together because of hockey, and the one minute we get alone you guys just have to show up?" ryan mumbled underneath his breath as he started standing up from his spot.
"come on, leno. we're just messing with you." aram said, which only worsened the freckled boy's mood.
"i'm leaving."
TWO
you threw your head back, laughing at a story ryan was telling you about one of his classes this week. it was monday night, meaning date night. the two of you were currently sitting in a movie theater, waiting for the movie to start. you each had your own drinks, but shared the same popcorn, mainly because ryan insisted on it.
ryan had been away for the weekend because of hockey, meaning the two of you had barely seen each other in the last five days. of course, you always face timed or texted whenever you could, but nothing compared to spending quality one on one time with each other.
"i missed you." ryan mumbled, throwing his arm around you shoulder and bringing you close to his side. you smiled up at him before pressing your lips to his cheek.
"missed you more, ry." you answered with a smile and ryan leaned down to press a kiss to your lips. there were maybe three other groups in the room with you, a family of four, an old couple, and a group of friends about your age. it was pretty silent, only for the small whispers within the groups.
you and ryan were in your own little world, you sat in the back corner of the room, everyone else choosing the middle of the room to sit. no one around the two, truly having being able to just focus on each other.
of course, all of that quickly ended when almost all of ryan's team walked into the theater, their eyes obviously looking for the two of you. they quickly made their way over to the two of you once the captain spotted you.
"i'm gonna kill them one day." ryan let out a frustrated sigh. he had made it very clear that tonight was only for you and him, granted he made the mistake of telling the guys which movie you were going to watch, where, and at what time.
"let me know when you wanna do it." you mumbled as the guys started sitting around you.
"hi guys!" will said sitting behind the two of you and reaching for the popcorn between your bodies.
"no." ryan was quickly to pull the bag away from his friends reach, making the blond frown.
"that's not nice." gabe intervened from besides the blond boy.
"why do you guys always have to just ruin everything? i told you it was just me and y/n tonight."
"are we not allowed to come enjoy a movie as a team, ryan?" drew said from besides the boy.
"you couldn't have picked any other movie? it had to be this one? at this cinema, seriously?"
"it's a very popular cinema, ryan." cutter said, smirking at his teammate. you rolled you eyes, your boyfriend doing the same, before shushing the boy since the lights were starting to dim.
thankfully, the boys were quiet while watching the movie, which surprised you a lot, well for the most part. they would whisper between each other whenever one of them did not understand what had just happened in the movie, and of course had little reactions every time the two of you interacted. some of them even going as far as gagging whenever you leaned your head on his shoulder.
"where're you guys going?" will asked as you and ryan quickly left the movie theater once the movie ended.
"far away from you guys." ryan said harshly before quickly hurrying the two of you out of the cinema, and quickly making your way to his car, where he was fast to drive off in the direction of your dorm.
THREE
you cheered loudly as your roommate scored yet another goal, ryan cheering as well from besides you. the two of you were among few in the crowd for the women's lacrosse game, the only other people in the stands being family and friends of the players.
you had came to almost every game this year, always ready to support your roommate, and now best friend. ryan had started coming along after the two of you dated, the games being another way the two of you could be alone.
the two of you should have figured that these games alone would not last long once the guy realized the two of you disappeared every time there was a game, but you choose to ignore it. probably one of the reasons why you were both so frustrated when some of ryan's teammates joined the two of you in the stands.
"seriously?" ryan called out, dropping down to his seat, a slightly frown on his face.
"are we not allowed to come cheer on our school?" drew said with an innocent smile.
"and you had to do it here?" you spoke out, shocking the guys a little. ryan was always the one who protested, never you. you always just stayed quiet, not wanting to say things you would later regret, but you had enough.
"wh--"
"i mean seriously? you guys never come to these games, but since we do, you guys wanna start coming too? you never go to the movies, but when we do, you suddenly want to as well? do you not have anything better to do in your lives than bothering us? it's pathetic." you said, anger filling your veins, before grabbing your bag and making your way to the bathroom, leaving all the guys dumbfounded, even your own boyfriend.
"shes' right, ya know. you guys are annoying. it was funny the first couple of times, but you're taking it too far. i mean, we barely get to spend time together, and when we do you guys just have to ruin it all the time. sometimes she doesn't even want to hangout with me because she knows you guys are just gonna show up and ruin everything. so, please, just leave us alone." ryan said, before getting up and following after you.
your boyfriend walked around the stadium for a bit, before eventually hearing some sniffles coming from one of the bathrooms. "Y/N?"
"in here." you confirmed, and ryan was quick to make his way inside, he did not care if there was anyone else in there, he needed to make sure his girl was okay. "oh, baby." he whispered when he saw a tear rolling down your cheek, quickly bringing you into his chest.
"i'm so tired of them, ry." you whispered into his chest, letting out a sigh of frustration.
"i know, hons, me too." he said softly, one hand rubbing down your back while the other landed on the top of your head, softly combing through your hair.
"i'm sorry i snapped at them like that." you said after a couple of minutes of silent, the two of you just holding onto each other. this was probably the longest the two of you had been able to hug each other for weeks without any of the guys interrupting.
"don't be, y/n. they're assholes... and it was hot. very hot." he giggled, making you look up at him only to see him smirking down at you. you knew that look all too well, making you roll your eyes.
"ryan." you warned him, smiling slightly, which only made his smirk grown bigger. the two of you had not been able to be intimate with each other in a long time, and after all, ryan was just a teenage boy.
"your rooms empty." he whispered, bring his lips down to yours. you took a deep shaky breath, trying your best to control yourself. "and the game's not even half way done." he added, letting both of his hands fall lower and lower on your back.
"promised the girls i'd meet up with them after." you mumbled as ryan attached his lips to your neck. you had grown close to the other freshman on the lacrosse team, finding your own little friend group.
"they'll understand, baby." he whispered against your neck as he brought your bodies even closer together. you were about to say something when his phone started ringing loudly from his front pocket, making him groan into your neck.
"what?" he grumbled as he answered the phone, making you let out a sigh. "no, i don't want to go to dinner with you guys. i don't care, will. well, tell eamon that i can't make it. then, i'll do suicides, i don't care. whatever, bye." he argued before letting out yet another groan as he hung up the phone.
"what was that about?"
"stupid team dinner or whatever, i'm not going."
"ryan." you said sternly. you had made it very clear throughout your relationship that missing team events to hangout with you was not something you were okay with.
"it's not an official one, babe. the coaches aren't gonna be there, they don't even know it's happening! eamon can't expect all of us to just stop our lives to go to dinner with him. someone of us have more important people to go on dates with." he said, his voice going from angry to soft at the end.
"you're an idiot."
"you love it."
"mm, i do." you smiled before finally connecting your lips together.
FOUR
"hide." ryan whispered loudly, hiding his face with the menu in his hands.
"what?"
"the guys are here!"
"what?" you exclaimed before turning around to the door, quickly spotting a small group of hockey players. some of them were quick to spot the two of you, smiling before following their host. "you'd tell them we were coming here?"
"no! i picked a different restaurant just so they wouldn't know where we are!" ryan said, quickly looking at his friends before hiding behind his menu again.
"ryan, idiot, they already saw you, there's no point in hiding." you said, grabbing the menu from his hands.
"oh." he said before the two of you looked over at them again. you saw a couple of them about to get up, before someone of the freshman said something, quickly making all of them sit back down. the next second, ryan's phone dinged, a message from jacob appearing on his screen.
sorry, though you guys would be going to the same place as always. we won't bother you, enjoy your night
your boyfriend read the message out loud, shocking the two of you slightly. you both looked over at them again, only to find none of them looking over at you, instead focused on the menus. then, ryan's phone rang again.
also i think drew's scared of y/n now
ryan laughed as he read the message in his head, before turning his phone so you could see it. you giggle slightly, a small blush taking over your face.
"i guess we're both menaces now." ryan smiled, making yours drops.
"absolutely not." you gasped, making your boyfriend laugh out loud. surprisingly, the boys kept their, leaving the two of you alone for the whole night. but not without sneaking a couple of pictures of the two of you, which they later sent to ryan. they did not even bother the two of you when you walked near their table to leave the restaurant, none of them even looking up at the two of you.
when the two of you made it back to his dorm, you talked for almost an hour at how you could not believe they had somehow managed the be in the same room as the two of you and not bother you guys. it felt great, it truly did, to finally have some time alone with ryan, some real quality time where all you had to focus on was each other.
and you were soon very thankful that found out it would not be the only time the two of you would be left alone. of course, the guys still popped out every now and then, but if one of you ever gave them a look, they'd be gone the next second. especially if they came from you.

my soul has changed? - will smith au
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
wc: 1.4k
tw: depression, suggestion of an ED, awkwardness? mean girl.
will smith x oc celebrini sister!
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
lola celebrini was in a point of her life where everything felt still. she was pretty sure she was suffering from depression and it was a cycle she didn't know how to get out of.
she would wake up, go to school, go to work, and then sleep. she was lucky if she fitted a meal in between that meant she had lost tons of weight.
she had been a pretty healthy teen, she played hockey up until high school alongside her brothers; but when the time came to play college hockey, she got no offers. contributing to her depression.
it was a sport she held so much love and dedication, she couldn't understand why she hadn't been good enough? I mean her brothers were good enough, they got college offers. macklin was even projected to go first overall, so why couldn't she?
those were thoughts that were constantly haunting her mind. if she found something to forget them they would flood back in, like if they wanted her to be a lifeless doll she had been feeling like.
her family had been really worried for her. she had finally seen her brothers after a year, at the NCCAA playoffs and it only caused them to worry more.
flashbacks
lola knew that macklin and aiden were gonna bombard her with questions as soon as they were alone. they could hardly recognize her. growing up she was always a smiling person with a big personality and now she was about forty pounds lighter and was a ghost of the person she used to be.
"april what's going on" macklin said shutting the door behind him.
"what do you mean"
"cut the bullshit. I know your not okay, you barley answer my text anymore, what's wrong"
"it's nothing mack-"
"no it's not nothing, maybe I can fix it-
"you cant 'fix' it"
"and why not-"
"because I don't know what wrong with me!"
that had been about two weeks ago. she just didn't know what to tell her family. she really didn't understand why she had been feeling that way.
she was currently at work where she was a barista in a cute coffee shop. she honestly loved working there, she had got the job when she was in high school and had kept it till college. seeing as she didn’t move far away for college, choosing to stay close to her parents.
she often wondered if she might be happier if she moved away just like everyone else did, just like her brothers did. but it would always end in her telling herself; that it's not worth dwelling on.
it was currently six am and at this time of day there weren’t many customers. the cafe was always busy mid day when people were looking to find somewhere to study.
so she was surprised when she turned the open side around, to find a boy waiting outside to come in. a boy who looked a lot like will smith.
lola wasn’t an idiot to hockey, she kept up with it a fairly good amount, so she would have to be living under a rock to not know the guy who dominated the ice at her brothers rivalry school.
that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to act like she didn’t know him.
he reached for the handle and took a look at her before turning as red as a tomato and blushing,
“hey, are you guys open?” he asked nervously, mentally slapping himself because he just saw her turn the sign around, to ‘open’
“uhm yeah I’ll be with you in a sec” she told him.
will couldn’t help but think her voice was cute. she had a rasp to it that made him want to give her everything she’s ever wanted.
lola finished up, putting the coffee too brew and turned to the counter.
“okay! order when your ready”
“uhm. i actually never been here before… any recs?” he asked after a moment nervously scratching his neck.
“well I get a dirty chai, but considering my brothers hate it, you might hate it too… I guess you might like a frap?” she told him, a little too monotone.
“yeah okay” he told her again nervously. he found her to be breathtakingly beautiful.
he paid and stood back as she got to making the drink.
“you from here?” will asked hoping to make small talk.
“uhm kinda. I was born in Vancouver but moved here when my dad got a job”
will panicked. oh god was she still in highschool
lola must of saw the worry on his face because she added,
“that was a couple years ago, im eighteen now” she said smiling at his face. something she didn’t do often anymore.
“oh, i’m eighteen too”
“oh yeah, what brings you to san jose, school?” she said innocently knowing very well he was drafted here and was most likely here to work on development.
“no. I”m came to meet with some people here. I go to boston college” he answered. lola starting to not feel so bad because she saw he didn’t want to right away say he was a hockey player.
“far from home huh”
“yeah, i’m literally across the country from everything and everybody i’ve ever known” he told her wanting to slap himself. did she need to know that!?!
“i’m sorry. it’ll get easier” she said remembering her brother had been homesick too but utimatly started feeling better after some time-- as she handing him his drinks and gave him a sympathetic face.
“yeah i hope so, i should be moving here soon, if everything goes right” he said as he took a sip.
“hey this is good!” he said taking another sip as lola smiled. something that will thought looked amazing on her.
lola smiled at him remembering the fact her brothers liked that drink. boys were so typical
“i’m glad… and hey— if you ever need a friend in town my names lola” she told him as she held her hand out to him to shake.
will starred at it for a moment before he quickly met her hand.
“will” he told the girl with a smile.
they were cut out of there moment when two customers walked in.
“I should get back to work. i’ll see you around will” she told him as he smiled a nodded and walked right out.
say something! ask for my number! do anything!
lola felt really dumb after she basically just presented herself in a silver platter to the boy and he didn’t finish his part in asking for her number. he had definitely rejected her in the nicest way someone possibly could.
meanwhile will got into the Uber with a gitty feeling. she seemed really cool and having someone to hang out with other than his teammates was going to be so nice.
he was midway into the meeting with some general managers when he realized he didn’t even ask for her number.
“oh my god” he mumbled as he came to the realization
"i'm sorry?" one of the GM's said confused.
“uhh— I said I was excited to join the franchise!” he covered up, feeling like an idiot.
hopefully she was still there after the meeting.
the meeting had gone a little to long for his liking and as he raced down to the coffee shop he hoped she was working a long shift.
he opened the door to see a blonde girl who looked old but yet looked young, and a taller boy with curly hair working behind the counter.
“hi. is lola working today?” he said breathlessly
the blonde eyed him for a moment before smirking,
“I don't recall a lola ever working here...my name samantha though” she said with a face that will knew was a face of someone who was lying.
“yes there is, she helped me earlier-"
“if your here to file a complaint against her, I can totally help you then,” she said
“no she was great— wait, you said you didn’t know an lola-“
“your looking for lola?” the other barista cut in
“yeah she was here earlier, i was hoping she was still here”
“she got off like two hours ago but i can give you her number!” the curly haired boy told will. he was one of lola's friends and he wasn’t going to ruin this opportunity for her.
“you totally can’t do that!” the blonde girl said in a nasally voice.
“shutup samantha. go take candy from a baby or something” he sassily told her.
she rolled her eyes before walking away to wipe a table down.
“sorry about her, here’s her number— good luck!”
“thankyou so much” he told him as he thought about what exactly to text the pretty girl.
both lola and will not knowing the epic love story they were about embark on.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
hi guys! i hope this is kinda good, dont feel shy to send in ask and au thoughts… i like never get any but im so open to it!!
