Turned around and ran RIGHT into #ThisDude like #iPlayWithToys | #ActionFigures or have the means to indulge in it.. I have a weird musical #history when it comes to this #HipHop (#Group) since they were so popular and I no longer had the eldest of a brother to ask about the #WhosWhos. So I went through them like #aGatewayDrug as far as the #Sonics and what a “”Rapper”” should stand for within and/or apart of the culture goes. Not just saying shht to be saying it to say that it sounds cool. #BelieveMe, I would know.. . I use to do that 'ish. 🤔’ I do miss being able to write in full melody (to me) without any #Beats or the notion or sound of one..(😞)_ #Run but no #DMC and no #JamMaster.. . ..almost had #jokes (( how you gonna put up Run and not have anybody else; No one is gonna want that!🤣 )) but then— https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl9mvbLJc-Z/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

An argument in favor of video games from a quarantined mother. #Quaranteens #wtfparenting
My 15 yo son has spent every second of his free time during this pandemic hanging out online, playing video games with his friends. He started by ranking up to the elite tiers of Apex Legends. I am told this is quite a feat. Honestly I believe it because it took him and his friend 6 hours a day for a week to rank that high. After that came Sea of Thieves. He joined up with more friends and sailed the digital oceans until piracy lost it's shine. Also, when two friends started arguing in game. 2 nights ago they made a plan to meet up as a big group on Fortnight. None o them really play Fortnight much anymore because the crowd is a little younger. But they didn't want to work too hard at playing, they just wanted to hang out. Last night, six of them met up again on Fortnight to hang out and play. They were goofing off, doing stupid teenager stuff, when they met a solo player named JamMaster. Sometimes if they meet solo players that are pretty chill, they'll join forces. JamMaster seemed pretty young but he was by himself and they were having fun showing him what they knew about the game. They invited him to join their crew.
Pretty soon they discovered their first impressions were correct. JamMaster WAS much younger than they were - only 10 years old. They also discovered that it was his birthday in the morning. The boys realized that JamMaster had been hanging out by himself all night, on the eve of his 11th birthday, which he would be spending by himself in quarantine. CLEARLY SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE. YA'LL, THEY THREW HIM AN 11TH BIRTHDAY PARTY. They took him on a bunch of adventures, gave him all the loot they could, helped him win a few battles, and made his [sic] stay up until midnight so they could all sing happy birthday to him. This morning, as my son told me about their adventures and all the fun they had, I started to cry. I was trying to say something like "Oh that's so nice" but tears just started spilling down my cheeks. He could not understand why. But...but... CAN YOU IMAGINE? The disappointment of being quarantined for your 11th birthday only to be met by a random six-pack of teenage gamers who decide you're awesome and want to throw you a birthday party? What a roller coaster. What an experience. What an incredible thing to do for a young gamer. In conclusion: video games, hell yeah.

#Repost @heatherhayes ・・・ #Repost @staxrecords ・・・ @_IsaacHayes’ landmark album, ‘Hot Buttered Soul’. ・ Hot Buttered Soul set the precedent for how soul would evolve in the early ‘70s, simultaneously establishing Isaac Hayes  as a major force within black music. ・ It stretched its songs far beyond the traditional three-to-four-minute industry norm, featured long instrumental stretches persona for soul with Hayes' tough yet sensual image. ・ Surprising many, the album features only four songs, where the infamous 18-minute "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" and its lengthy monologue which slowly eases you toward the climactic, almost-orchestral finale, a beautiful way to end one of soul's timeless, landmark albums, the album that transformed Hayes into a lifelong icon. ・ Stream the album via @Spotify, here: http://found.ee/IsaacHotButteredspotify-g ・ ・ ・ #IsaacHayes #SoulMan #BlackMoses #SpiritOfMemphis #HotButteredSoul #Shaft #ChocolateChip #BarKays #StaxFax #CoverMan #SoulSongwriter #JamMaster #SoulProducer #WhoSampled #Stax60 #ThisIsIsaacHayes #1969 #1960s #60s

You’re probably the most fun person to talk to when it comes to getting hyped about stuff, doesn’t matter whether it’s JoJo, Mega Man, or Yakuza, we both come up with really fun/dumb ideas, and somehow you make being excited a hell of a lot more fun. It’s great to know ya Jammy/Jammaster/Miami/Miami-Man 9000

#Repost @hiphopbornday 🤴🏾🤴🏾🤴🏾 #HappyHipHopBornday to @kingdmc of @officialrundmc born (May 31, 1964) an American musician. He is considered one of the pioneers of hip hop culture and founding members of the hip hop group Run–D.M.C. McDaniels grew up in New York City. He was born to an unwed mother who surrendered him to the New York Foundling home. He was a ward of the Foundling, in foster care, until placed with the McDaniels and eventually adopted by them. He attended Rice High School in Manhattan and later enrolled in St. John's University in Queens. McDaniels first became interested in hip hop music after listening to recordings of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. In 1978, McDaniels taught himself to DJ in the basement of his parents' home, using turntables and a mixer given to him by his older brother, Alford. During this period he adopted the stage name "Grandmaster Get High". Later that year, McDaniels sold his DJ equipment, after his friend Joseph "Run" Simmons acquired his own turntables and mixer. After Jam-Master Jay – who had a reputation as the best young DJ in Hollis – joined the group, Run encouraged McDaniels to rap rather than DJ. Gradually, McDaniels came to prefer rapping to mixing records, and adopted the nickname of "Easy D". In 1981, he dropped the "Easy D" moniker in favor of "DMcD", the way he signed his work in school, and then to the shorter "D.M.C.". This new nickname alternately stood for "Devastating Mic Control” or "Darryl Mac", his nickname since childhood as referenced in the lyrics of the song "King of Rock". In 1984, the trio released their self-titled debut album and became very successful in the hip-hop industry. The group's success continued to grow and reached its peak with their third album Raising Hell. The album went to No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, making Run-D.M.C. the most popular hip-hop group at the time. In 1987 Run-D.M.C. wrote "Christmas in Hollis". #salute #dmc #rundmc #jmj #kingofrock #sonofbyford #brotherofal #kingfromqueens #holliscrew #rushmgmt #profilerecords #defjam #peterpiper #walkthisway #myadidas #suckermcs #downwiththeking #jmj4ever #jammaster https://www.instagram.com/p/ByIQO65g56x/?igshid=1ux840cxtt1ms
